Matt_Black
Bryan Keith hollering at the audience to listen up about corn was something I never knew I needed to hear until I heard it. Also, it's infuriating that they can never seem to fit in more than one women's match per show, but they ALWAYS find time for a Juice Robinson promo.

Big Bill was off TV whilst Ricky Starks tries to figure out whether he wants to work here or not. Hook was stuck on the Buy In and tagging in meme teams. Yes, the creative could be better but none of these guys were tearing it down before Jericho pulled them into his vortex. He does, at least, give other talents something to do. Agreed. Also notice how very quietly he's slipped down the card in the last year or two. He's not feuding with top talent or blue chippers anymore. He hasn't challenged for an AEW or ROH singles title in ages. Even his tag challenges were a bit ago. I don't remember the last time he won a feud before toppling Hook, and I'd argue that the FTW title was starting to drag Hook down at this point. He may be the worst part of AEW programming at this point, but he's at least TRYING to do what aging wrestlers are supposed to do. Use their name value and fading talents to help the younger generations get over. Mootine mentioned Bill and Keith, but the last time Private Party were on TV (prior to Marq Quen's injury) was as Matt Hardy flunkies in the wake of the HFO mercifully ending. Isaiah Kassidy has been an occasionally appearing jobber in between then and now. Definitely in a better spot. And before anyone says "they could just do it without Jericho", he's more comfortable and experienced on the mike than all four of them put together. Does it suck? Yeah. Would it work and thus have 4 guys on TV who weren't before without him? Hell, no. Y'all would rightfully crap all over it. There ain't no winning here.

CW: Discussion of adult themes (SA accusations against a wrestler) Disagree here. Jericho's problem is that the crowd is reacting to him very negatively, to the point Jericho drags down any other talent put with him. AEW fans don't want Jericho on TV after he was accused of indecent conduct and are reacting accordingly. In TEW terms, Jericho is toxic, and Jericho being toxic drags down every angle, because the crowd heckle Jericho out of the building. Right now, Jericho is poison to any wrestler on the AEW roster, and he shouldn't be on TV in a prominent role. He definitely shouldn't be working with stars like Hook or potential stars like Bryan Keith. Mootinie
AEW definitely have this problem where you're either an experienced veteran with years in the business who is creative enough to pitch their own stuff. Or you're Tony's flavour of the month, he books your stuff for you and he moves heaven and earth to put you over strongly. If you're neither of those things, you're a guy like Hook and you spend 18 months doing a whole lot of nothing, which kills any momentum you may or may not have gathered beforehand. Or you're a guy like Bryan Keith and you get signed for being decent but they don't really have anything for you to do. I understand the criticisms of Chris Jericho but the alternative here is nothing because the likes of Big Bill are the sorts of talents that Tony forgets he has on the books. He doesn't prioritise creative for these guys and it takes a Chris Jericho to bring them into his loop so they can have a prominent position on the programme.
