Streaming WMMA5

Recommended Posts

so I have been playing WMMA5 for about 6 months an had an idea about streaming gameplay and making it entertaining. I want this to be interactive and i know i wont be getting people to watch it automatically in the beginning but i hope my commentary will entertain and eventually get people to vote on polls and basically help with my decisions in the game. couple questions i have and i would appreciate any feedback.

1. how often should i release videos?..... i was thinking once a week and i would edit so they could be concise and not have too much filler

2. at what point should i start in the game? ..... should i go straight to the ufc... or compete and go to bellator, start in a lower company not known and work my way up. or create a company and build it from the ground up.

3. Any mods i should download that you think would be cool to play? i currently use the real world mod

any other suggestions just let me know i will start as soon as possible.

Especially if you make an effort to let your audience make a few decisions along the way and give them a chance to influence part of the direction the series takes.

1) I think ideally it's a little more frequent. Maybe like every 4 days or twice a week I feel would give it enough time to breathe and have time for the interaction but also move it along at a better tempo. So you maybe have like interaction for about 2 days after you release the video that potentially influences your next episode and some decision making and take like a couple days to play the next one and edit&upload the next episode.

2) I think thats totally up to you. You won't get a consensus on that anyway I feel like because people prefer different stuff. I think the most important thing is that you're passionate about how you start it up and let people catch on to your videos that way. For what it's worth I like the UFC style of letting the best compete against the best and do it that way but thats just me so it shouldn't influence the way you wanna play your game imo.

3) I haven't played a mod yet on wmma 5 but the one I'm most interested in and that I think I would start next is the Global Verse.

http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=540708

I also have a few questions for you. Do you have an idea in mind of how you wanna structure your episodes and how much of the planning of events and fights do you wanna show? And what settings do you use in terms of injury frequency, development and drug use and all that stuff?

In my honest opinion, if you go with the c-verse, you'll probably end up getting WMMA fans who already knows the game (so maybe better interaction, but someone who never played the game or the cverse may find it more difficult to follow and interact), but if you go with the real world mod, you may catch the casual MMA fan who never played the game, and hook this kind of people (the downside of this is people who never played the game may find the day to day management of WMMA dull, and only want to look the fights.)

For what it's worth, I really like watching gameplay with the UFC, but on the other hand, my longest save I've personnaly ever played was in WMMA4 with Bellator, and I had another save where I did local to global, so it's really up to you <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" />

Many people know WMMA and play Real Word mods. Hence why they are made. Speaking of Bellator I am having fun running my current game in Bellator.

I wanted to say that RW mod can reach better both WMMA players and WMMA non-player, but with the C-Verse it was more difficult because non WMMA player would not know the fictionnal fighters

This is true. RW mod does have that potential for more casuals.

I am getting equipment to record I want this to be easy to watch. I’m most likelystarting this week most likely with a real world mod and start off as the ceo of bellator(even though I would love to change that name). So I’m thinking episode length should be too long I don’t want people to feel trapped by a long video. So I’m thinking of doing an 2-3 episodes a week one will most likely be me explaining what you can vote on and showing some daily mma moves and an other most likely of an event. My only question is for viewing the fights how would you prefer i went about showing that cause I can quickly go bad the words announcing what I deem important or I can slowly go by it letting the viewer read, I think the first one might be more entertaining but let me know excited to start this finally
