Head Booker Journey - 1st stop, WWE Evolution (an all womens wrestling promotion)

Recommended Posts

*I am using Fleisch's WWE 2018 RAW vs. Smackdown Mod, in which RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and NXT: UK have all been broken into separate promotions/companies. In addition, women's wrestling is no longer on RAW or Smackdown. Instead, a new WWE company has been introduced, WWE Evolution, which will feature all the former female members of the RAW and Smackdown roster*

Hi, my name is Mike Schaplowsky, and I have been a wrestling fan for several years. And by several, I mean pretty much my whole life. I've always wanted to get into the business, and after hearing the "breakup" of WWE, I thought now would be a perfect opportunity. I knew Mr. McMahon was busy getting his new XFL set up, so I sent letters to Mr. Shane McMahon, Mrs. Stephanie McMahon, and Mr. Jean Paul Levesque (otherwise known to wrestling fans as HHH). I sent letters, and letters, and letters, leaving email addresses, phone numbers and the works. Finally I got a call from HHH himself. The first words out of his mouth are "Kid, you're persistent, I'll give you that. Why should we hire you to work for the WWE?" Well first of all, I'm not a kid, I'm in my late 30's, but was I going to insult an owner of one of the WWE brands? Definitely not. So I explained my position, telling him I'd be willing to work from the bottom up, whatever it took.

After a brief conversation (and also a quick chat with Mrs. Stephanie McMahon), they had a thought. "As you know, since you included it in every single letter you wrote, you know that RAW and Smackdown no longer have women's wrestling. You also know that we have a promotion devoted entirely to women's wrestling. WWE Evolution. Miss Sara Del Ray is the owner of this promotion, and as of right now, also the head booker. Give her a call. Maybe you can work something out."

So I give Miss Del Ray a call, and 15 minutes later, she had hired me to be the head booker of WWE Evolution. "You seem to know your stuff about women's wrestling, you seem to be interested in creating new stars, and that's what we need. Let's see how you do here, and then maybe, eventually you'll get the call up to NXT, and ultimately the call up to RAW or Smackdown. Or.. maybe you'll just end up being a lifer with me here at WWE Evolution. Or.. maybe I'll hate the job you're doing and fire your ass and you'll be back on the streets looking for a job in a bingo hall. Let's give it a shot."

So after all that, I was announced as the new head booker of WWE Evolution! Roster coming up later.

After discussing with Miss Del Ray, and getting her approval, the first thing I've done is to end the face/heel divide. I explained to her that we could have many more matches and feuds by taking away the face/heel divide. By keeping it on, we were basically going to have to have face vs. heel every single match, because a face vs. face or heel vs. heel would cost us a bit in the match ratings. She's agreed to it for now, but is cautiously optimistic. (I'd be willing to hear others opinions on this, if they use or don't use the face/heel divide and why). This is the initial roster I will be using:

Main Eventers

Alexa Bliss, Charlotte, Flair, Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Asuka

Upper Midcarders

Naomi, Natayla, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax

Midcarders

Mandy Rose, Tamina, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan, Mickie James, Lana, Carmella, Alicia Fox

Lower Midcarders

Sonya Deville, Shayna Baszler, Dana Brooke, Ember Moon

Openers

Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, Kairi Sane

Enhancement Talents

Zelina Vega, Billie Kay

The announce team for our 90 minute weekly show, to be shown on Saturday nights, is as follows:

Announcer- Renee Young

Color Commentator- Lita

Referees

Jessika Carr and Myself

Sara Del Ray is our lone road agent at the moment.

The following have not been assigned a role yet:

Paige, the Bella Twins, Ruby Riott

Our current Tag Team Division is thin, so the first Tag Team Champions will be from this group. Right now Absolution (Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose), The IIconics (Peyton Royce and Billie Kay) and The Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan) will compete in a round robin series to determine the first ever WWE Evolution Tag Team Champions. Look for the Bella Twins to possible challenge when both come back, but I'm definitely looking for new tag teams.

The focus will be on the singles division, with 2 singles title, the WWE Evolution World Title, and the WWE Evolution Television Title.

We will have single elimination, 8 woman tournaments for both (because I love tournaments).

Miss Del Ray has given me a list of goals to complete:

#1- Improve the financial balance of WWE Evolution to at least $1,250,000 (started at $1,000,000). Critical Importance, Expires in 1 year, 11 months, 3 weeks.

#2- Don't let Evolution fall into debt at any point. Critical Importance, Expires in 2 years, 3 months, 3 weeks.

#3- Don't hire any wrester classed as a Luchador. Average Importance, Expires in 1 year, 1 month, 3 weeks.

#4- Don't hire or extend the contract of anybody that is known to have problems with the law. Average Importance, Expires in 1 year, 3 months, 3 weeks.

#5- Don't hire any wrestler classed as a Spot Monkey. Average Importance, Expires 1 year, 3 months, 3 weeks.

Sounds easy enough, let's get to it!

<p>Everybody. I would like to run a prediction contest with this dynasty report, but only if I have enough people predicting. I'm hoping to run a show every other day, at least for the next couple of weeks to really get this going. That means there won't be a lot of time between shows to get your predictions in. But if anybody is interested in being part of a prediction contest, please get your predictions in.</p><p> </p><p>

I am not sure the details, as I've never really done one, so for those that have done them, please PM me with thoughts. Thanks.</p>

I'm going to give this until tomorrow and see if I get any more predictions. There are quite a few that have predicted on some of my dynasties before that I still haven't heard from, and I'm hoping to hear from them. Regardless, I will run the first show tomorrow at some point, so please get those predictions in.

<p><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Head Booker Diary -- August 2018, Week 1</span></strong></p><p> </p><p>

Well, my first show is in the books, and I have to say it was a smashing success. I've been told that the feedback was awesome, and that the fans loved it. I've also been told that our popularity increased in 40 regions. Wow! That's a lot of popularity increase. Maybe too soon, too fast. If that keeps up, I'll have to continue to keep putting on these kind of shows. That's a lot of pressure.</p><p> </p><p>

Unfortunately, WWE Evolution already has some of the most popular females on their roster, but I'm still going to do a search to not only bring in some fairly popular wrestlers, but also some better in-ring workers. I've already changed my plans for Money In The Bank, as I'm running a lot of ideas through my head.</p><p> </p><p>

WWE Evolution on Mr. Shane McMahon's WWE Smackdown Network drew a 0.23 rating. Not bad. It's going to take some time for the fans to get used to an all women's show.</p><p> </p><p>

Kairi Sane has just been released from NXT by Mr. HHH. With all due respect, I'm not sure what he is thinking. I will absolutely be looking to sign her to WWE Evolution.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of signings, I can not be more happy with the WWE Evolution General Manager and the new tag team that Shane McMahon has signed to come work in WWE Evolution. All 3 have a wealth of experience, and while 1 has previously worked in WWE, the other 2 haven't, at least to my knowledge. They have worked in TNA though. Or Impact. Or whatever the heck you want to call it now.</p><p> </p><p>

Well, time to get ready and start booking my next show. Hope you all are enjoying.</p>

Good first show! Loved the Sasha and Charlotte staredown!

Thanks. I'm 100% a book on the fly kind of guy. I normally don't have a lot of free time, and I have several other things going, so when I sit down to play TEW, I'm usually booking show by show, card by card, PPV by PPV. Sometimes I have a plan of how I want things to go, but I find myself always changing my mind (Like I already have with Money in the Bank). So I hope my book on the fly style doesn't turn some people off, as I know many have several shows and plans booked out for months in advance.

Looks like we have a lot of similarities about booking on the fly, so I know what's it like to not have much time on the hand to singly plan everything out. Don't worry Booking on the fly can create great moments too, the show above is to my liking since it does not have overbooking written onto it. Hehe. Anyways awesome work here! :)

WWE Evolution

Saturday, Week 2, August 2018

Jaffa Shrine Center- Altoona, PA

Show Announcers: Renee Young and Lita

Show Attendance: 3,200

The show opened with a look back at the confrontation between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks last week, with Renee and Lita talking about what a fierce match the two should have tonight. (D+)

Into the ring we go, where Charlotte is standing with a mic in her hand. "Little Sasha Banks. You want to challenge me? You want to challenge the queen? Well, not only am I going to have the pleasure of beating you, but I will also get the pleasure of knocking you out of the WWE Evolution World Title Tournament. Sasha, you are no match for the queen. My wrestling legacy far surpasses yours. Who do you have going for you? Snoop Dogg? When was the last time he did anything relevant? My daddy is still relevant, can you say that about your uncle?" (C+)

Our first actual match of the show was a WWE Evolution Television Title Tournament Quarterfinal between Nia Jax and Alicia Fox. While neither of these 2 are great in the ring, Nia has a special kind of star quality. Alicia has been a part of the WWE for a while now and has never really progressed, so for me this was an easy decision. Nia got the win over Alicia in just under 4 minutes. (D)

We go back to the ring where the Riott Squad (Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan) are in the ring. Sarah has a mic. "So.. Mr. Shane McMahon has decided he wants us to fight a different team besides the IIconics or Absolution. There isn't a team or a woman out there that can handle my strength. Liv and I are like family. So.. who do you got? Who do we get to beat up on to get our shot at becoming the first ever WWE Evolution Tag Team Champions?" Just then, Killa Queen plays over the speakers, and out comes Madison Rayne. "Sarah, Liv, you two have no idea what you asked for. You see, I used to be part of a group in another company that will remain nameless. Let's get to the point, sweeties. We were.. beautiful!" As Sarah and Liv stand in the ring looking dumbfounded, out comes Angel Williams! The Beautiful People (at least 2/3 of them) are in WWE Evolution! (C-)

So our next WWE Evolution Tag Team Tournament Semifinal is set between the Beautiful People and the Riott Squad. And I have to say I'm disappointed in this match. I always thought highly of Angel and Madison in TNA, but their in-ring work here was well.. not good. In fact, Sarah carried the in-ring performance, but unfortunately I had already made my mind up. So.. Madison Rayne hit Sarah Logan with a Shining Yazuka Kick to get the win for the Beautiful People, as they will face the IIconics to determine the first ever WWE Evolution Tag Team Champions. (D-)

After this match, Renee Young went to the ring. "Well guys, you've already seen the first surprise, how about the Beautiful People in WWE? Wow! But that's not all, because at long last, it is time to announce the WWE Evolution General Manager. Now, this lady has done just about everything she can do in the ring. She has had great success not only in WWE, but in other companies as well. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the WWE Evolution General Manager...… Gail Kim!

Gail comes down to the ring to a huge ovation. "Wow, thanks so much guys, and thank you Renee. I never, ever thought I would come back to the WWE, but when Stephanie called me up and told me that WWE now had an all women's promotion, I couldn't pass up this opportunity. It is such an honor to be a part of this company, working with so many great talents such as Becky, Sasha, Charlotte... the list goes on and on. Now, with that being said, we are going to run a tight ship here, so if anybody wants to test me.. well, just remember how many championships I've won in multiple companies. Now, let's get back to action! (C-)

Our final Quarterfinal match in the WWE Evolution Television Title Tournament took place between Lana and Paige. I've always thought very highly of Paige, I've always looked at her as a tremendous talent, but I see a lot of potential in Lana. This was a well placed match in my opinion. While Paige was better in the ring, Lana held her own. Eventually though, it was trickery that would decide this match, as Lana hit Paige with a foreign object to get the 1,2,3 in a bit of an upset. (D-)

Now we get down to the final 2 matches of the night, in our WWE Evolution World Title Tournament. This match was between Ronda Rousey and Natayla. 2 great competitors, but I've never felt that Nattie has gotten the respect she deserves. Ronda.. well she just oozes star par in her days from UFC. Her attitude leaves a bit to be desired at times though. The in-ring work of both was pretty similar on the grading scale, but in the end it was experience winning over, as Natalya locked Ronda in the Sharpshooter and got the win, advancing in the WWE Evolution World Title Tournament. ©

We go backstage where Sasha Banks is getting ready for her match, but before she goes to the ring, she has a few words. "Charlotte, you want to talk about family legacy? I said it last week and I'll say it again. The only reason you are in WWE Evolution is because of who your daddy is. Your daddy, the Nature Boy Ric Flair, has more talent in his little finger than you do in your whole body. In fact, you want to bring my uncle Snoop into it? Well, he also has more talent in his little finger than you do in your whole body. See, you might be a queen in your own little world, but you're messin with a boss, and the boss always wins!" ©

Main event time, our final quarterfinal in the WWE Evolution World Title Tournament between Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks. No doubt both have a great family legacy, while Sasha has her legacy outside the business, that doesn't take anything away from what she does in the ring. Unfortunately, she was majorly off her game tonight. Her promo was great, her in-ring action... not so much. Charlotte did a great job picking up the slack, and this match had tremendous heat (and why wouldn't it, based on the promos). This match had so much heat that me, being the referee, couldn't control these young ladies (Have you ever tried to get in the middle of 2 ladies wanting to rip each others hair out? It's not fun). After about the 4th time of being pushed on my ass, I'd had enough. I disqualified both women, ruling it a no contest. ©

We weren't done though! Before the show could go off the air, Gail Kim came back out. "No way. No way will we end a show that way. Charlotte..Sasha! You want to let personal business get in the way of the company, that's your decision. But I refuse to let your personal feud effect this tournament. You are both out of the tournament. Miss Natayla Neidhart, you have just earned yourself a bye into the finals of the WWE Evolution World Tournament. You will wrestle the winner of the Becky Lynch-Alexa Bliss match for the title at WWE Evolution Money in the Bank, in 2 weeks. That Becky-Alexa match, it takes place next week. Sasha and Charlotte, you want a chance at the title? You both have to QUALIFY by winning a Money in the Bank qualifying match. There will be 6 qualifying matches over the next 2 weeks to determine the 6 participants in the Money in the Bank match. You will both be getting next week off to cool down, and will wrestle your qualifying matches in 2 weeks on WWE Evolution. Now, get out of my ring, get your asses backstage, get your stuff, and get out of here" (D+)

The show ended with Charlotte and Sasha still being held apart in the ring.

Final Show Rating: C

As you are the only 2 that have predicted so far, and neither of you made a guess on the WWE Evolution General Manager or the new tag team, no bonus points. The Charlotte-Sasha match is thrown out of course. For future reference, it probably won't happen often, but every now and then, I will have something like that happen, and if you do happen to guess a Double DQ, Double Countout, Time Limit Draw, etc, you'll get 2 points.

Head Booker Diary -- August 2018, Week 2

Not much change from last week. The fans thought the show was awesome, the tv rating was an 0.36, and it increased our popularity in 41 regions! Holy cow!

Some backstage notes, as Paige lifted the locker room by bringing in an adorable puppy before the show.

Also, Alexa Bliss was brought to Wrestler's court, as she forgot to shake another workers hand when entering the locker room. The judge, Natayla, found her guilty and sentenced her to buy drinks for everyone after the show.

Ronda Rousey was not happy with my decision to put Natayla over in their match. In 3 words.. I don't care. I'm not a big fan of Ronda, never have been, never will be. I agree she gives us star power, but she's not irreplaceable. Maybe if I liked her, I would have kept her stronger, but Nattie deserves a legit shot. I'm not saying she'll win the belt, but she's definitely in the mix. Besides, it's quite possible I have other plans for Ronda. Either way, if she comes into my office like that again after the show, she might be looking for a new job.

I signed several wrestlers this week, most of who were released from WWE NXT: Dakota Kai, Bianca Blair, Tegan Nox, Kairi Sane, Jordynne Grace, and Lacey Evans. I am in talks with Miss Del Ray about starting a developmental brand, as all of those workers could be a big part of it.

I am also looking to sign a backstage interviewer, and I've got my eye on another former WWE member. I'd like to keep Renee Young and Lita together in the broadcast booth, as Lita is not near as good as Renee, and when Renee does interviews and leaves Lita in the booth by herself, segments tend to suffer.

Well, that looks to be it for this week. Time to get ready and start planning next weeks show!

WWE Evolution, Week 3, August 2018 Preview

A heavy week this week, as we have 6 matches schedule. The semifinals of the WWE Evolution Television Title Tournament are set to take place, with Mickie James taking on Carmella and Nia Jax taking on Lana.

Also, as Natayla has a bye into the finals of the WWE Evolution World Title Tournament, the only semifinal will see Becky Lynch taking on Alexa Bliss.

In addition, new WWE Evolution General Manager Gail Kim has announced 3 Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches for this show: Bayley vs. Naomi, Ronda Rousey vs. Tamina, and Sarah Logan vs. Ember Moon. The winners of those 3 matches will make up half the field for the Money in the Bank match set to take place at WWE Evolution Money in the Bank in just under 2 weeks.

Also, Gail Kim will have an announcement to make regarding the qualifying matches for Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks next week. Will the 2 be able to restrain themselves this week? We'll see. Tune in for another action packed edition of WWE Evolution.

I'm giving everyone 24 extra hours to get predictions in. We've had more storms in the area that are supposed to resume today, and I'm not taking any chances. I will resume tomorrow as things will hopefully be cleared up. Thanks to the 2 that are part of the prediction contest so far, I hope more join!
