King Bison
1st Saturday of March, 2019 This was a day that Peter Michaels would never forget. Even if it's the one day he will always wish he could... It started out as normal as any other day. Isn't it funny how these things just happen with no warning? No...I guess it really isn't. Michaels sipped his coffee by the fire in his cabin. He thumbed through his notes waiting for word from Eric that he had landed back in Fairbanks. They had a lot of planning to get through over the next week so they could start coordinating who needed to be here for WrestleBowl. But as the time ticked by, Michaels never got a call or text from Eric Tyler. He never would. A call to the airport confirmed that Eric's flight had landed, but Eric wasn't on it. Michaels frantically began calling Eric. Voice mail after voice mail, the sound of the ring echoing in his ears. He must have over slept, maybe he lost his phone and can't tell Peter he missed his flight. Eric was always losing his phone. He called Eric's daughter Brooke to see if she had heard from him. She hadn't in a few days. He started to call his wife but knew Eric wasn't home and no sense worrying her over nothing. He called the hotel Eric was staying at in Pittsburgh before his flight and requested a courtesy check. A short while later his worst fears were confirmed. Everything went silent, the phone dropped to the floor, as Michaels struggled to stay on his feet. Eric was in his room, unresponsive and not breathing. They rushed him to the hospital but it was too late. Eric Tyler was dead. The next few days were a whirlwind for Michaels. The autopsy confirmed it as a Pulmonary Embolism, he died instantly. He was only 59. The outpouring of support was overwhelming. Eric had been more than just his booker, he was his friend, his last true confidant in this world. After talking things over with Eric's wife and daughter, Michaels did the only thing that really made sense. He booked a show. The Eric Tyler Memorial Showcase. He began promoting the show as heavily as he could. Donations would be accepted at the door and all proceeds would go to Tyler's family. Was it the right thing to do? Maybe, maybe not but this is wrestling and that's all Peter Michaels knows. As he laid down to fight for sleep he knew wouldn't come, Michaels almost convinced himself that this wasn't real, tomorrow he'd wake up to a text from his friend complaining about this problem or that problem with the show and the talent. God he what he wouldn't give just to have another argument with that man. This wasn't fair, none of it was. Michaels wanted to scream, to quit, to pack up and move back to the south and just find a nice place he could die...but he knew he couldn't do that. Tyler was counting on him! He knew what he had to do. He had to make Great Alaskan Wrestling a success, he had to realize their dream. He would do it damnit! He would do it for Eric! OOC:This was actually pretty hard for me to write. Losing Eric was a tough blow to add into the rotten luck we've having. Eric Tyler was a huge part of my story here and it feels weird writing him off and even weirder being so connected to a fictional character. He was the head trainer for my Dojo, my road agent, the leader of Genesis and most importantly the rhyme and reason to Peter Michaels madness. Things will definitely not be the same without him. Historian
RIP Eric. It's always sad to lose a character that has been integral to the success of your company. I remember losing Jebediah and how sad I was for that -- and we'd only had five shows when he passed. Tyler was the heel that made everything else go. He'll be missed! King Bison
Your love of big boofy blokes makes this super fun. I had to google boofy so thank you for adding that to my vocabulary lol and thank you I blame my early wrestling upbringing being focused around Hulkamania, the Ultimate Warrior and The All American version of Lex Luger for my views on larger than life superhero-esque pro wrestlers being the standard

King Bison
Robin sat in the center of the ring holding the GAW Heavyweight title in his hands. His first title win in professional wrestling and he had been chosen to be THE guy in Great Alaskan Wrestling. Overcome with emotion he basked in the raucous crowd chanting his name, chanting for Genesis and chanting for Eric Tyler. The moment was bittersweet, the man who made all of this possible wasn't here tonight. It was Eric Tyler who recruited him to be the muscle in Genesis, Eric Tyler who took the big rookie under his wing as his protege and it was Eric Tyler who had suggested that Robin DaLay be the one to carry Genesis forward. Now he was at the top of GAW. This was for Eric and all he had done for him and this company. DaLay was going to carry GAW forward! Into the future! To Eric's dream!
