Nothing serious or concrete, just tossing around ideas about the future. </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> “We need to hire more tag teams” Eric said, getting serious for a moment. Peter stopped and stared at Eric sternly “I thought we agreed on keeping the roster where it was at until we had more of a following”. Eric sighed “I know but what’s the point of having champions if they have no one to beat? The Northern Lights have already been beaten and they’ll need to compete against someone else to get their momentum back before they’re ready to challenge again. We need another team”. Peter sat up in his chair, his scraggly beard hanging down to his lap now “So bring in more one offs. A world tour of the Generals beating the best tag teams around”. Eric matched his engagement “we need a credible threat from inside the company or no one will believe the title will change hands and then what’s the point of a title match?” His answers were more forceful now. “Peter, we need to hire at least one more tag team for to help our events not get stale. If you want to still bring in one offs, bring them in and have the Lights match with them so they can get their steam back, while we put the Generals in a program with someone else. You hired me for the book, right? Trust me” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Peter sat and pondered on Eric’s suggestion for a moment. He had a vision for sure but perhaps that vision needed to be altered on occasion to match reality. “Ok, so bring somebody in. You scout em and let me know.” Eric sighed in relief, getting Peter to listen could be a challenge but eventually he DID listen. “Good. Thank you Peter. Now another matter of business, one of my trainees.” Peter’s interest was piqued. The academy had been his idea and he was very interested in developing homegrown talent moving forward! “Herbert. I think he’s ready to actually get in the ring. More than ready.” Eric study Peter’s face, trying to gauge his response to an academy graduate coming in so soon. He need not worry though, Peter was fully on board. “Eric I love it, if you say he’s ready let’s get him in the fold. But I don’t want him just on the show for the sake of being on the show. Let’s get him doing something worth while!” </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"> Eric hadn’t considered that Peter would be so fully committed to someone so green but he was glad he was being trusted. Now for the next phase, to see how truly on board Peter was. “That’s awesome Peter, I actually already have a plan in mind for him...but I’m gonna need something.” His last statement was met with some curiosity on Peter’s end. “What kind of something?” Peter asked. “One more hire. Welcome to the Total Extreme Wrestling News 2016 Year End Review! We here at TEW News have been diligently observing the world of wrestling as a whole over the past year and we have established our picks for the best of the best in 2016! You'll find the list at the end of this post!

 

In other news, Marat Khoklov joined TCW last month and it did not take long for the company to thrust the Russian Giant to the very top of the promotion! At Psycho Circus Marat Khoklov defeated Joshua Taylor for the TCW World Heavyweight Title, ending his reign at 280 days.

A source backstage has reported that this did not sit well with Taylor whose contract is coming up in April! Could we see this young star jump ship this year? What will TCW be willing to do to make up for this perceived injustice?

 

Speaking of new World Heavyweight champions, things are going swimmingly in the land of Supreme since they finally decided to pull the trigger on Valiant and have him win the World Title from Remo at Break Like the Wind! Not only was this SWF's highest rated show of the year but it also gave them the steam necessary to beat the juggernaut that is USPW in the National Battles. SWF have now closed out the year as the number 1 promotion in the world once again! With Valiant at the head of the company can SWF continue their new hot streak into the new year?!

 

On the topic of USPW many are beginning to question the companies direction under Robbie Sanchez' booking. While Allen Packer certainly has the money to afford any name stars he desires, many are wonder why the USPW would collect talents like Steve DeColt, Sean McFly and Aaron Andrews for big money contracts just to have them get pinned in opening matches or in the case of Steve DeColt, be left off the card entirely more often than not. With a bloated roster full of mismanaged talent, it comes as no surprise to see the company begin to slide back down the pecking order. Perhaps a new creative direction and some over due talent cuts are in their near future...or maybe we will be treated to Nicky Champion challenging Steve Frehley for the World Title the 8th time as that appears to be the plan moving into the new year.

He’s a random gen lightweight/spot monkey who happens to be located in the North West and be high in weird and crazy so I made him a render so I can use him when I have a slot to fill. He’s very young and very green but he fulfills his role
