Backstage Scott Steiner starts an assault on Sting ambushing Sting and they brawled all over the backstage area until our cameras lost track of them. Could this mean Scott Steiner has teamed up with the NWO? Or perhaps he was just paid off by Kevin Nash who faces him in singles competition later tonight? How much damage will Sting sustain and how will that affect him in tonight’s big main event?

Rating: B+

WCW Television Championship Match:

Disco Inferno © vs Alex Wright

George M. Sullivan Arena

Anchorage, Alaska

Attendance: 6290

We open the show with Lex Luger in the ring with a microphone, with Kevin Nash and Hollywood Hulk Hogan. He talks about his upcoming match with World War 3 tournament winner Randy Savage. He says theres no chance Savage will be able to challenge for the title at uncensored by the time their match is over at Starrcade. He continues to take digs at Savage until he sprints out from the back. Not wanting to wait until Starrcade, however Luger and the NWO bail out of the ring to a big reaction from the fans.

Rating:A

Louie Spicolli vs Glacier

Spicolli was given an opportunity here against Glacier. This match wasn’t great. Spicolli was on offense for most of the match but Glacier refused to quit. He digs down deep and manages to pull out a victory.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Glacier defeated Louie Spicolli in 6:30 by pinfall with a Cryonic Kick.

Rating: C-

Hollywood Hulk Hogan cut a promo talking about how it dosen’t matter how many members are in the NWO. Rather it is who is in the NWO. He says they will continue control of this company and are not scared of DDP, Savage, Hall, Foley or anyone else on the WCW roster who has the guts to go up against the New World Order.

Rating: A*

Diamond Dallas Page was interviewed backstage. He said he’s tired of the NWO and he will continue to bring the fight to them. He thinks WCW’s chances of regaining power have improved since Savage and Hall left the NWO. Not to mention the new arrival of Cactus Jack, who he believe’s to be on team WCW. DDP announces he will find a couple friends to join him and challenges Hulk Hogan and the NWO to a 6 man tag at Starrcade. Saying he will beat him just like he did at World War 3.

Rating: A*

Non-Title Match:

Stevie Ray © vs Evan Karagias

Newly crowned US champion Stevie Ray is in action here. A great wrestler and gaining popularity as the weeks go on. Ray started the match fast-paced and got the better of Karagias early. He looked like he had the victory multiple times in the first 3 minutes. Karagias was able to slow Ray down for a bit but Ray came up with several big moves for the pinfall victory.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Stevie Ray defeated Evan Karagias in 6:49 by pinfall with a Powerslam.

Rating: C-

Scott Hall vs Rey Mysterio

Hall went right to work on Rey. Hall and Mysterio went back and forth early. Hall went for a big lariat and got caught by Mysterio with a nice roundhouse kick. Mysterio sent Hall to the outside and got him with a dive over the top rope. As Hall was down on the outside out ran Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash. Getting Hall with a few chairshots and putting Mysterio through a table. The match ended in a no-contest. Does this confirm Scott Steiner has aligned himself with the NWO?

In a bout that had great wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, Scott Hall and Rey Mysterio went to a no contest after Steiner and Nash’s involvement.
