Stephanie "Following on from my announcement on the future direction of RAW I have some exciting news on the future of SMACKDOWN. SMACKDOWN recently moved to FOX … FOX is a name synonymous with change … FOX changed the world when they launched themselves into the world of network television, they looked back to look forward and took the idea of a prime time cartoon like the world once had in the Flinstones and brought us the Simpsons, they looked back at Comedies back when they were funny and decided to go with Married With Children. FOX embraced Sport and brought innovation to their coverage of it. Well now they have the WWE and we are going to look back at when Wrestling was SPORT and bring that feeling back. SMACKDOWN is going to blend old school athletic technical wrestling with the harder edge of things like MMA. Smackdown is going to be the destination Smash-mouth wrestling. Don't worry about the WWE forgetting who we are though because WWE will be bringing plenty of Entertainment to Sport too! I can think of no better man to oversee this new era of SMACKDOWN than a man who was raised in this business, a man who understands this business … a man who loves this business … a man I love … my brother Shane McMahon"

Stephanie "There's been a lot of talk recently about the future of NXT and what it's going to be going forward. Is it still a development league? Is it it's own brand? well the truth is it's both. It's always been about creating new stars and giving them that final polish to allow them to shine on the big stage and the way to do that is to push those stars and let them grow. We've had some huge successes come out of NXT … a generation of great Women's wrestlers for instance. One mistake we could make though is holding on to our talent too long. Leaving them to become Big Fish in a Small Pond because we love what they are bringing to NXT, keeping them in NXT long after they should have graduated to RAW or SMACKDOWN. Well we aren't going to make that mistake. In two weeks time we will be holding War Games and it wont just be a regular TAKEOVER it will be a graduation Celebration for some of our greatest NXT talent - there last hurrah in NXT before they take their talents to RAW and SMACKDOWN! Don't worry about NXT though because there's some amazing new talent coming to NXT and not only that but with the departure of William Regal to RAW they are going to need a new man in charge - a man whose become synonymous with the NXT, a man who is passionate about this business and on helping build the future of the WWE … a man who was trained by the great Hall of Famer Killer Kowalski and understands the effort and hard work it takes to become a star … a man who is passionate about helping the next generation of talent reach their full potential … a man who I have more than a passing familiarity with … my husband … Triple H ... So I'm launching a new diary - Stephanie - The Princess Diaries. It's weird how crisis leads to opportunity - my laptops keyboard died which means I cant access my WS_X saved games for a while - so I decided to start a new game and this is it. I've never actually played as the WWE before and I figured I'd put my money where my mouth is and try to book the WWE better than it's being booked. Given that I have a fully functioning brain that in theory shouldn't be too hard but in practice ...well we'll see.

So what should you expect

I'm going to try to differentiate RAW and SMACKDOWN. RAW - is going to be full of people who work a more modern style including it's women whilst SMACKDOWN is going to embrace the more traditional WWE Big Man style and it's women are going to lean a little more towards the Diva era. Hopefully it's going to have an old school/new school feel where each show has a distinct identity. NXT is going to remain as a Development fed with Triple H moving over as Owner/Booker. Many of it's existing stars are going to graduate to give RAW and SMACKDOWN some fresh dream matches and feuds. New contracts have been offered and the new intake should keep NXT a powerhouse. Regal and Shane are going to be authority figures but the tired old power-mad stuff isn't going to rear it's ugly head

As for the rest of the world - if Vince leaves the WWE what happens? Do people aggressively try to take advantage of the regime change? Well I don't know but I'm pretty certain Stephanie McMahon isn't going to take the chance and show any weakness - she's going to go on the offensive and try to destroy any opposition before they can get any traction. If AEW wants a war they are about to learn what Blitzkreig means.''

Jason Jordan has undergone Surgery try to repair damage to his C4 Compression injury - early reports indicate the surgery was successful.

Jinder Mahal has had surgery to fix a Ruptured Patella Tendon - it was deemed a success

Both Nia Jax & Mickie James have had successful surgery on their Anterior Cruciate Ligament tears - Doctors are confident of a full recovery for both

Ruby Riot has had surgery to try to repair her damaged Rotator Cuff - early indications are very good on her recovery

In February it was reported that WWE was trying to buy into a company in Japan but Dave Meltzer has been reporting that all attempts have been unsuccessful. He is indicating that the WWE has decided to open another development territory elsewhere and will be making an announcement very soon. The WWE's fist choice was Japan but the Japanese wrestling scene is notoriously quite insular and there seems to be significant resistance against allowing the WWE to get a foothold there. A number of younger Japanese talents have apparently been offered deals to join the new WWE venture. It is believed it will be used to partly fill the loss of NXT on the WWE Network. As an alternative Saudi Arabia or somewhere nearby in South East Europe is a possibility to further capitalise on their recent moves into the area. Northern Mexico or Eastern Australia are the other two areas under consideration.

Wrestlinginc is indicating that the WWE has been aggressively recruiting under the new Stephanie McMahon regime and have made a number of offers to talent currently working on pay per appearance contracts in other significant companies. A nameless AEW official said that several of their workers have given notice.

PWI is reporting that WWE has asked to file trademarks for a number of terms including Bloodlines NXT, NXT Bloodlines and NXT the Legend Continues. Speculation seems to be that they relate to a potential new stable within the current NXT brand rather the name of the rumoured new development area. They have also asked to trademark "Queen of Strong Style" which is a good indicator of a signing from Japan.

Raj Giri is reporting that Kevin Dunn intends to retire from his position with the WWE shortly. Rumours have it that Dunn was seen as very much Vince McMahon's right hand man and that he was strongly influential in the WWE avoiding terms like wrestling, wrestlers, belts etc and was heavily against unscripted promos. Stephanie McMahon's use of the word wrestling in her recent announcements is seen as an indication that

3: The Iiconics def Riott Squad - In theory this should have been a nice simple little match that highlighted the IIconics who were clearly getting a push in their home country before a big title challenge. That would have been fine except for a display of monumental incompetence from their opponents who seem to have lost all chemistry in ring. It was brutal watching Logan and Morgan both every interaction with each other like a couple of raw recruits at a training school on their first day. Mercifully it was short. The crowd popped for the IIconic victory so perhaps it still did it’s job but this match is one that was best forgotten the moment it ended.

5: The New Day and The O.C go to a double count-out – If there was ever a moment that confirmed that the WWE had entered a new era but that some things were going to stay the same it was this match. Near on 30 minute matches on WWE are an absolute rarity on WWE TV with them saving those for big events but they let these go for 28 minutes in a match that ebbed and flowed with all six men were given plenty of opportunity to get their stuff in. The WWE is not going to give away a decisive finish to a feud that’s just getting started though and the match eventually spilled to the outside for an extended period before the ref finally counted all six men out whilst they brawled as the show came to an end.

As the match went on Alexa and Nikki started to ramp up their offence. Alexa managed to get on top and finished the match with a Twisted Bliss to become the new SMACKDOWN Womens Number 1 Contender.

The guy has a huge upside … that upside being that one day his contract will run out and we will never have to see him again. In the meantime we got to see The Miz … a man who was once a World Champion defend a belt that has all the prestige of one of those toys you find in a Kinder Surprise make a defence of said belt against a guy whose biggest claim to fame is that he knows Gronk … who is apparently a famous now ex American Footballer for anyone who doesn’t care. It went as well as could be expected with The Miz squashing Mojo in what was still probably the best 24/7 match ever – which is a bit like saying the best case of the Bubonic Plague ever.

4: John Cena def Apollo Crews – For a long time people have wondered if Cena would ever turn heel and whilst he remained firmly a baby-face here there were glimmers of something else. Cena worked with real intensity and aggression allowing Crews to take the face in peril role during the match proper and when it was time to hit the 5 Moves of Doom he played up to those in the crowd who booed him. The match itself didn’t quite reach the level of RAW’s Andrade match largely due to the fact that Andrade and Cena had real palpable chemistry in ring. That said both men worked well and the crowd clearly enjoyed the contest.

Post match another show of sportsmanship occurred as Cena helped his fallen foe to his feet and held his arm up high but there was almost a sense of mockery about it this time. It was as if Cena was smiling and congratulating his opponent on a good performance but at the same time just a hint of him revelling in his own victory just that little bit too much.

5: The Shield def The Family by DQ when The Fiend attacked Seth Rollins – This was a top quality brawl between to teams with great chemistry as partners. Neither side worried too much about the rules and the bout spilt to the outside regularly. It was almost inevitable that it would end with an appearance by the Fiend who proceeded to hit the Sister Abigail on Seth Rollins for the DQ.

I just went with Australians as it's in Australia. Alexa looks to have been set up to win. So does Rey but Brock never jobs. You said Smackdown was going to be a big guy realm so I went Braun.

As for the shows, they are long but you said that was to set things up. The jokes kind of worked for me. I enjoyed them but you need to shorten the shows write ups as it's a lot to read for a summary .

WWE STARRCADE 2019 – Qudos Bank Arena Sydney Australia

Pre-Show

Stephanie McMahon announces that a new development area NXT Australia (NXTOz) opening and the purchase of the new facilities for the WWE Performance Center Australia. She announces that there will be 4 NXTOz ttile matches on the card tonight

Southern Cross (Vink & Reed) def AJ Istria & Blakestone to become NXTOz tag champs – The NXT workers who have featured on the Australian Tour pre-shows defeated two Australian veterans in a fast paced entertainign opener. The crowd was fairly dead as they weren’t overly familair with the talent.

Travis Banks def KrackerJak to become NXTOz Australasian Champion – NXTUK’s New Zealand talent Banks took on the veteran KrackeJak who had come out of retirement for a one night showcase. Both men worked hard but the crowd was here for the big foreign stars.

Shane Thorne def “The Untamed” Daniel Vidot to become NXTOz champ – The two NXT talents worked hard in a fast paced bout. Some sections of the crowd remembered Vidot from his time in the NRL and Thorne is familiar to NXT viewers which helped get the crowd a little more engaged in this bout.

STARRCADE 2019

The show opens with Miz & Maryse backstage – R-Truth attacks Miz and pins him calling for a ref. Maryse jumps on R-Truths back and Miz manages to get out from under him. The Miz calls R-Truth an idiot screaming that the title can only be won in a proper in-ring match now – if he’s so keen for a match he’ll get one later tonight. Miz then proceeds to kick R-Truth in the face.

Cut to the Viking Raiders who approach the Secret Society and try to intimidate them. Murphy gets into Ivar’s face calling him and his partner Ragnarok rejects.

The crowd in shown – a whole bunch of people in the front row are dressed in outlandish costumes of various monsters and villains Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy, Freddy Kruger, The Joker, Magneto etc. The crowd seems pumped as John Cena's music hits.

John Cena “So there are a lot of young guys who think they can take my place as the face of the WWE and believe it or not I really hope that one of them can step up and do it but to do it they need to beat the man”

The Unisputed Era’s music hits

Adam Cole “The Man … The Man? … You stopped being a man years ago … now you are just a part time wrestler, part time actor and full time pain in the ass … everyone is sick of you and your tired old Hustle, Loyalty and Respect schtick”

Cena “Who the hell are you”

Cole “Don't play dumb Big match John you know full well who I am you jorts wearing anachronism … I’m Adam Cole BAY-BAY”

Cena “Well … baby boy this is a ring for grown ups so why don’t you toddle up here and I’ll spank your prepubescent butt”

John Cena def Adam Cole by DQ – A fast paced entertaining match between the veteran Cena and the former NXT champion Adam Cole came to an end just when it looked like Cena was going to get the win when the other three members of the Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong) hit the ring and destroy Cena leading to an immediate disqualification.

The Undisputed Era work Cena over till security regains control.

A short hype segment for tonight’s RAW womens title match between Charlotte, Becky & Sasha talking about their time as the Horsewomen in NXT and their storied careers on the main roster.

The O.C (Gallows & Anderson) def The New Day (Woods & Big E) – Gallows and Anderson managed to get a cheap win over the pancake enthusiasts when Anderson makes the pin with his feet on the ropes for leverage.

Stephanie comes out and hypes the new NXTOz show that will be showing on Saturdays on the WWE network. She introduces newly crowned champs Southern Cross, Travis Banks and Shane Thorne and hypes the 3 way dance for the NXTOz women's title tonight between Dakota Kai, Rhea Ripley & Toni Storm

Roman Reigns & Bo Dallas def The Family (Rowan & Harper) – Sometimes wrestling works best when it goes back to it’s classic staple formulas. Bo Dallas played the face in peril here overpowered by two much larger menacing heels who bullied him and kept him from making a tag to the increasingly frustrated Reigns desperately wanting to tag in. Eventually Bo made a small comeback and got free before making the hot tag. Reigns was then faced with both of the Family, a Superman Punch took the illegal man Harper out and a spear to Rowan put the other man down and allowed Reigns to make the pin. There was absolutely nothing original here but it was all told with such conviction and so well executed that it worked perfectly.

Toni Storm def Rhea Ripley & Dakota Kai to becomes NXTOz Women's Champ – A solid bout between three women who knew each others games well and worked well together. Ripley has size and power, Storm technique and Kai has speed and they blended their styles well to create an entertaining mix. Ripley nailed Kai with a stiff shot but Storm managed to dropkick Ripley out of the ring before making the pin on the fallen Kai.

Hype for the Universal, WWE Championship, Intercontinental & United States title matches later tonight.

Becky Lynch def Charlotte Flair & Sasha Banks to retain the RAW Women’s title – The first main roster title match saw three of the 4 Horsewomen work a fast paced match that allowed all three women to stretch their abilities to the max. Becky ended up getting the pin on Sasha Banks to retain the RAW Women’s title.

Post Match 3 of the MMA’s 4 Horsewomen NXT’s Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke hit the ring and attack Becky, Charlotte & Sasha

Braun Strowman def Shinsuke Nakamura to capture the WWE Intercontinental title – Shinsuke did everything he could to avoid Brauns size and power but eventually Braun was able to corner his opponent and club him down to the mat. From that point it was just a matter of time as Braun manhandled Shinsuke throwing him around the ring like a ragdoll before finally making the pin to win the title.

Alexa Bliss def Bayley to win the SMACKDOWN Women’s title – A short match that really fell into the Diva Eye-Candy category saw Alexa Bliss hit the Twisted Bliss to capture the title. Internet Rumours have Bayley going to RAW to join her fellow 4 Horsewomen in the upcoming re-organisation and this match certainly seemed to indicate those rumours are true.

Secret Society (Ali & Murphy) def The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar w Sarah Logan) – The Viking Raiders are ice cold and the crowd sat on their hands for their entrances. Ali & Buddy Murphy worked their asses off to try to get the crowd into this match with a series of spectacular moves which the Raiders as usual undersold. Luckily this was a relatively short bout, both teams have good chemistry with their partners so it was tolerable but the Viking Raiders really do need to work more matches against decent opponents before another chance at a title – they simply aren’t over enough with the fans to be pushed as hard as they have been under Vince.

Hype for the SMACKDOWN Tag Title match and Womens Tag match

The Revival def Rusev Day to retain the SMACKDOWN Tag title – There was a time when Rusev Day were as over as anybody on the Roster but Vince failed to give them a proper push. It’s probably going to take a while for them to get back the popularity they have lost thanks to some truly awful booking over an extended period. The Revival meanwhile have gained Rany Orton as a manager which compensates for their only obvious flaw which is their mic work. Both teams have excellent teamwork and enough skill to make most any match decent. Orton was at his slithering menacing best here threatening Lana which led to Rusev leaving the ring apron and allowing the Revival to double team English and eventually nail the Shatter Machine for the win. The show has been consistent so far with all the matches being somewhere between 5 and 7 ½ out of 10. It may not go down as an all time classic PPV but it’s certainly one that people aren’t going to hate.

The IIconics def The Kabuki Warriors to win the WWE Women’s Tag title – One team has a ton of skill and the other has enormous entertainment value, the result was always going to depend on what sort of bout they were allowed to have. It became clear early that it was about highlighting Billie Kay and Peyton Royce’s looks and crowd interactions rather than Asuka & Kairi Sane's superior in ring skills. The IIconics were born and raised just down the road from the venue and they were very much playing face here. Asuka on the apron tried to blow green mist into Peyton's face but Royce ducked and Kairi Sane ended up with a face full of mist and Billie Kay then prevented Asuka making the save while Royce made the pin on her blinded opponent. In terms of crowd reaction this was up their with the Cena/Cole match.

The Miz def R-Truth to retain the WWE 24/& title – The era of the 24/7 title being treated as a prop in ridiculous but sometimes very funny comedy skits probably came to an end here. The Miz manhandled R-Truth here hitting a series of moves in a dominating performance before making Truth tap out to a Figure Four. Miz worked in the story of his annoyance and disdain for the old era of the belt and the man whose name is synonymous with that era and the match clearly felt like the end of this feud. Teases of a feud with Orton on the last Smackdown would certainly mean a significant shift in how this particular belt is presented.

AJ Styles def Kofi Kingston – Recently Kofi Kingston’s run as champ ended with a ridiculously quick momentum destroying loss to Brock Lesnar and the failure to even have him look like he was going to seek revenge hurt his character enormously. This match was very much designed to give Kofi his shine back. Both men had been accompanied by their respective groups the O.C and The New Day. They let Kofi and AJ work a long 30 minute match with a lot of back and forth action and some really good spots. Just when it looked like Kofi was getting on top the fan who was shown briefly earlier wearing the Joke make-up jumped the ringside barrier causing a commotion and attacking the New Day on the outside of the ring. Kofi looked over and his momentary lapse in concentration cost him as AJ hit a Pele kick before following it up with a Styles Clash.

Post match the New Day brawl with the O.C and it’s now clear that the fan is in fact Finn Balor. The crowd loved the match and went crazy for the post match brawl.

Rey Mysterio def Brock Lesnar to win the WWE Championship – If you are a fan of New Japan Pro Wrestling then this is probably exactly why you look down on things like the WWE. If you are a fan of over the top theatrical angles this is probably why you love things like the WWE. To call this an actual match is to use the term very loosely indeed. There were no rules nor was there any semblance of anyone pretending it was anything other than a spotfest designed to change the title holder whilst protecting the current champions aura. Rey started the match by … running away … Brock chased him unsuccessfully but it was clear Rey was trying to tire his bigger opponent out. Shelton Benjamin came from the back to corner Rey and allow Brock to get close to him. Paul Heyman cheered his charges on enthusiastically. Then it all went horribly wrong for them. Cain Velasquez appeared and made the save laying out Shelton, Brock then nailed Cain from behind and then nailing him with a F-5 but then took a Suicide Dive from Rey which staggered him. Rey headed back into the ring and Brock pursued him but he then suffered a double team from Rey and Dominick. The entertaining sequence that followed included double Shining Wizards, Double Frog Splashes and finally a double simultaneous 619 that knocked Brock out allowing Rey to make the pin and take the title. It took multiple people to take out Brock so he was kept strong while Rey was made to look like a genius who used the lack of rules to defeat his much larger opponent. The crowd went absolutely nuts for this.

Stephanie comes out and announces that the Universal title match will not be marred by interference and that if anyone interferes they will be banned from the WWE for life.

The Fiend def Seth Rollins to retain the WWE Universal title – the last hour and a half of this PPV was an outstanding success. First AJ & Kofi had a great bout followed by a killer angle, then Rey and Brock had their wildly entertaining angle disguised as a wrestling match and the show finished with a match that could have been an interference riddled mess until Stephanie’s announcement, instead this was a 30 minute banger and easily the best real match of the night. An 8.5 out of 10 bout which ebbed and flowed and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats with a number of great false finishes. Seth looked to have it won several times but a rake of the eyes saw the Fiend get the advantage and apply the Mandible Claw to get the win.

So the hardest part of the process is done -getting started and setting a direction up.

Over the next 2 weeks of game time there will be a signing period where talent will either sign with RAW or Smackdown leading up to Survivor Series.

I'll also post announcements on the first ever NXTOz roster, new intakes for NXTUk and NXT.

As for the PPV the Rey/Brock match was done as an angle so I could move the title (Brock has a severe allergy to jobbing. It got a great rating on the show.

NXT Graduating Class Novemebr 2019

It is with great pride that the WWE announces the following talents have graduated from NXT and are now available to sign contracts with either SMACKDOWN or RAW

The Undisputed Era - Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly. NXT's most dominant faction all held titles in NXT and recently featured on the STARRCADE PPV.

The MMA Horsewomen - Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke. 3/4's of MMA's version of the 4 Horsewomen recently attacked Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch at the conclusion of their match at STARRCADE. Queen of Spades Shayna Baszler is a former NXT Womens champ.

Candice La Rae, Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa. Three names with strong connections to each other. Gargano & Ciampa have been both friends and foes during their time in NXT and both have held the NXT title.

Ever-Rise - Chase Parker & Matt Martel. Well known on the independent circuit as 3.0 Parker & Martel joined NXT in February.

KUSHIDA - A well know name in Japan and worldwide Kushida was undefeated in MMA and has held prestigious titles in such organisations as New Japan, All Japan, Mexicos CMLL and Ring of Honor.

Kassius Ohno - Ohno brings more than 20 years of professional wrestling experience with him to the WWE and has performed in organisations on every continent around the world except Antartica. He has worked in both NXT and more recently NXT UK since 2016 after an earlier stint in 2012/13.
