WWE Smackdown 15: XL Center Hartford Connecticut

Pre- Show - The Beautiful People, The Chickbusters, Fire & Desire, Choosers of the Slain and Abigail defeated local talent

DKXwt0R.jpgjvvS6R5.jpgWIXTu8Z.jpgnuePMhF.jpghJMQkBd.jpg55Hxw4q.jpgYVJFZRC.jpgNiUeOCx.jpg

Shane & Steph announce that Braun Strowman, The Acolyte, Roman Reigns, Elias, King Corbin & Rusev will compete in an Intercontinental Elimination Chamber. The crowd was really into the idea of 6 big boofy blokes beating the heck out of each other in a cage. They get to see a 6 man match between them coming up next. It’s one of those curious things wrestling does when opponents team up … why? … Wrestling!

nuePMhF.jpg55Hxw4q.jpgYVJFZRC.jpgWIXTu8Z.jpghJMQkBd.jpgNiUeOCx.jpg

1: The Acolyte Bo Wyatt, Elias & King Corbin defeated Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns & Rusev by count-out – This was a nice little teaser fro Sunday with the heels at their sneaky weaselly best. The artist formerly know as Bo Dallas was particularly sneaky and that was what got his team the win. The heels got the faces tot eh outside and into a brawl nd the legal man on the heels team The Acolyte put a thumb in Roman’s eye temporarily blinding him. He used this to roll back into the ring beating the 10 count from ref Charles Robinson. The Intercontinental Chamber isn’t going to be a technical masterpiece but it does lend itself to brawlers and these 6 should be able to make it work on Sunday.

QIwwitY.jpgK8EmVCC.jpg

Talking of technicians, two mistresses of technical wrestling Stacy Keibler and Alexa Bliss will face off for the SAMCKDOWN Womens title on Sunday – there will be jiggling.

BvIaJs8.jpg9TMrFNG.jpgKYjLOY4.jpgbb3XXJr.jpg

Aiden English comes out and talks about how he gets no respect and that his tag partner Rusev is busy on Sunday and that he wants a match and challenges Cesaro. The Kings of the Bar come out, Cesaro says that if English wants a title shot he needs to prove he’s worthy by beating Kassius Ohno tonight.

pEWxYHP.jpgrxPSSv4.jpgCMhJkrF.jpgSP4jR6d.jpg

The Hardy’s come out and Matt cuts a rambling promo full of his insane lunacy. Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal come out and challenge for Sunday.

CMhJkrF.jpgrxPSSv4.jpg

2: Jinder Mahal def Matt Hardy – A solid outing saw Jinder use his superior size and power to get on top of Hardy. Jinder broke out his old FCW Finisher the Karachi Valley Driver for the win.

SP4jR6d.jpgpEWxYHP.jpg

3: Drew McIntyre def Jeff Hardy – The two better in ring workers in their respective teams put on a fun bout which saw Drew pick up the win with a Claymore Kick.

QIwwitY.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

4: Stacy Keibler def Ariel to retain the SD Womens title – Stephanie McMahon’s edict that there are no non-title matches for champions means that you get matches like this where the champion Stacy Keibler faced off with an enhancement talent – this time veteran indy worker Ariel with predictable results. Keibler nailed the Keibler Kick to keep this mercifully short.

A vid hypes the Elimination Chamber WWE Championship match-up

K8EmVCC.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

4: Alexa Bliss def a Local Worker – Jiggle … Jiggle … Jiggle … Twisted Bliss, a win for Alexa that’s all you need to know.

OEL21vh.jpgMpN8uib.jpg

The IIconics promo cut a promo in their usual self deluded style about how they are the dominant force in wrestling because they are IIconic (pose), the crowd is starting to lap these promos up.

BvIaJs8.jpgbb3XXJr.jpg

5: Aiden English def Kassius Ohno – Sometimes good workers don’t click or have bad nights. Tonight was one of those nights with both wrestlers seemingly totally out of sync with each other which led tot hem both having off nights. The less said about this match the better. English hit his rarely displayed finisher the Director’s Cut (a full nelson lifted and dropped into a reverse STO) for the win. It was probably a 2 and 1/2 star outing which might be fine on an indy show but on WWE television is unacceptable and which gives me little confidence for the Cesaro/English bout on Sunday. That said maybe English will have better in ring chemistry with Cesaro – it would be hard for him to have worse chemistry with anyone.

Shane & Stephanie announce that Seth Rollins will defend his Universal title in an Elimination Chamber match against Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Sheamus, Samoa Joe & Bobby Lashley this Sunday

E0VCOAY.jpgCgjpBSz.jpg1aETP20.jpgijzlqqI.jpgKYjLOY4.jpgIzkFU5d.jpg

6: Seth Rollins, The Miz & Samoa Joe went to a double DQ with Bray Wyatt, Sheamus & Bobby Lashley – This was a top quality bout that saw all 6 men working well together unlike the horror that was the English versus Ohno from earlier tonight. The match eventually broke down into a 6 man brawl – chairs were introduced and John Cone threw the match out and got out of dodge as Security tried to keep the 6 men apart as the show came to an end.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2020 , Carrier Dome Syracuse New York, 35446 att sell out

Pre-Show -

Renee Young hosts a panel talking about tonight’s matches. The WWE is using a two ring structure tonight with the Chamber already set up around one ring. It’s one of the advantages with a big Dome like this that you can do that.

1WUVOfe.jpgeYkaxvE.jpgNIYJatg.jpg62bPLKT.jpgoyNZXxI.jpgY2z7qMM.jpg

Pre- Show Bonus Match: Jushin Thunder Liger, Ultimo Dragon & Ultramantis Black defeated The Undisputed Era (Strong, Fish, O’Reilly) by DQ – The Japanese vets and the CHIKARA cockroach from outer space defeated the Undisputed Era after the unusually observant Mio Shirai spotted Bobby Fish hit an illegal low blow on UMB whilst O’Reilly tried to distract her. It was a fun little pre-show bonus bout.

More Panel segments about tonight’s matches hosted by Ms Young.

yG0xl7T.jpg9oOv1uV.jpgbS8xAJ2.jpg2ZwdtCk.jpgJmLcpNn.jpgyWYomfd.jpg

1: Strong Style Samurai def Lucha House Party – The show proper starts with this fun excitign opener. The Samurai lost in a surprise last time out but that made more sense here as it gave them a chance to record a win on a bigger stage. Rumour has it that unlike her father Stephanie is quite keen to embrace Japanese style wrestling and putting KUSHIDA with Shinsuke is her attempt to get him over with the fan-base, the reclamation project Akira Tozawa is an added bonus. Shinsuke hit the Kinshasa on Lince Dorado for the win.

eVYBZjE.jpgMpN8uib.jpgVfL1jMk.jpgCf4cPa2.jpg

2: The IIiconics retain the WWE Womens title over The Beautiful People – Do I need to describe this – both teams did their entrances with the Iiconic pose and the People’s stripper style rope work. They then proceeded to have an old school Diva’s style bout which was really about working the crowd. The IIconics won with the Sick Knee From Sydney on Angelina Love (Billie Kay with a running one handed Bulldog dropped into a kneeling Peyton’s knee). The Iiconics are getting pretty darn good at this stuff and the crowd enjoyed this.

9TMrFNG.jpgBvIaJs8.jpg

3: Cesaro retained the 24/7 title over Aiden English – Thankfully this was not the disaster that the English/Ohno bout was on SMACKDOWN. Cesaro hit all of his big spots including the Swing before nailing the Very European Uppercut followed by the Neutralizer. This was a pretty good bout.

WIXTu8Z.jpghJMQkBd.jpgNiUeOCx.jpgYVJFZRC.jpg55Hxw4q.jpgnuePMhF.jpg

4: Braun Strowman retained the Intercontinental title in an Elimiantion Chamber match – Roman and Rusev were the first men in and began to brawl – Roman is selling the eye gouge from Smackdown inflicted by the Acolyte and Rusev worked over that side of his face. Corbin was released next followed by Elias. Roman eliminated Corbin and Elias eliminated Rusev just as Braun was released and went for Elias, Broman was selling his facial injuryon the other side of the Chamber. The Acolyte’s was the last pod to open and he went at Roman. Braun eliminated Elias with a chokeslam. On the other side of the Chamber Roman eliminated The Acolyte after hitting a spear but not before Bo had raked his eyes again. Roman sold his difficulty seeing as Braun grabbed him and hit his running Chokeslam finisher to retain his title. It was a nice fun fast paced brawl of a match and Roman looked strong before the eye injury cost him a chance at victory.

K8EmVCC.jpgQIwwitY.jpg

5: Alexa Bliss recaptured the SMACKDOWN Womens title from Stacy Keibler – Keibler tried to use her superior reach advantage to keep Alexa Bliss away from her but Alexa was in a particularly fiery mood and took it right up to the veteran. Bliss took Keibler’s legs out from under her and once she was down took a ground and pound approach to the bout before climbing to the top turnbuckle and going for the Twisted Bliss only for Stacy to get a knee up. Alexa writhed around and Stacy went for the pin but Alexa kicked out. Both women sold that they were hurt and as they struggled to try to get to their feet Alexa got Stacy into position and hit a DDT for the win to regain her title.

Y0ZPJhe.jpgutD54Ep.jpgc2SqK7b.jpgnRSj35A.jpg

6: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn retained the RAW Tag Titles over DoiYoshi – A great fun Tag title match saw the veteran Japanese Tag Team fly about the ring trying to use their pace to put the larger champions off their game. It was great to see Kevin and Sami allowed to stretch their legs and work against quality opposition like this. The end came when Kevin hit the Stunner on Doi and tag in Sami Zayn who had climbed to the top rope and nailed a 450 splash for the win whist Owens prevented Yoshino making the save.

bZO8OJK.jpg2Te4Sac.jpgEIPQ5Ov.jpgxBamVpF.jpgB1IPD0D.jpgh9VXQNl.jpg

7: Conor McCregor won the elimination chamber and the United States title – Ali and Murphy opened the match and anyone who had seen the former bitter foes turned tag partners work against each other knew they were in for a treat. Kofi was the next out and he was followed by AJ Styles and then Daniel Bryan. All this time Conor McGregor was like a caged tiger waiting to be released from his pod. The crowd was clearly keen to see McGregor unleashed in a cage setting and nearly blew the roof off the dome when he was unleashed. All 6 men were in the Chamber now. AJ then eliminated Ali after a Styles Clash. Kofi eliminated Murphy hitting a Trouble in Paradise. Bryan rallied from a Pele kick and a near fall and eliminated AJ Styles whilst on the other side of the ring Conor grounded and pounded Kofi before pinning him. This left Bryan and McGregor to face off in a preview of their scheduled Mania match which now looks like it will have a title on the line. McGregor and Bryan go at it hard with Bryan still selling the after effects of the earlier Pele kick from Styles. McGregor sends Bryan into the Chamber wall and grounds him and moments later it’s over as he delivered a series of brutal looking strikes before making a pin. The WWE captured lightning in a bottle with this bout, the cage format was perfect for McGregor and putting him in a bout with 5 mobile guys ensured a thoroughly entertaining spectacle. This was around a 4.5 star match.

SP4jR6d.jpgCMhJkrF.jpgpEWxYHP.jpgrxPSSv4.jpg

8: The Band (Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal) win the SMACKDOWN Tag Titles from the Hardys – Jeepers this was good, I say that because looking at the card I expected it to be trash but Drew and Jinder have excellent chemistry and their power game worked well with the Hardy’s more high octane offence. It was a fun bout and Drew put Matt away with the Claymore Kick to capture the titles.

E0VCOAY.jpgIzkFU5d.jpg1aETP20.jpgCgjpBSz.jpgKYjLOY4.jpgMupn1Vr.jpg

9: Seth Rollins retained the Universal title in an Elimiantion Chamber match– Lashley & Joe opened. The Miz was the 3rd man out then Seth followed by Sheamus. The Miz eliminated Lashley with a Skull Crushing Finale after Lashley had already received a curb Stomp by Seth. The Fiend is the last man released. Joe eliminated Sheamus, Seth eliminated Joe, The Fiend eliminated Miz leaving Seth and Bray. Seth took control of the match slamming the Fiends head in the cage multiple times. A black substance was oozing from the mask (Blood?). The Fiend falls to his knees and Seth delivered an Avada Kedabra Superkick to his head downing him. Seth follows with a Curb Stomp and a pin and he retains the Universal title. In comparison to the earlier Chambers this was a bit of a let down as both Sheamus and Lashley had really off nights and The Miz ended up with a Sleepy Head after clashing with the side of the Chamber awkwardly. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins for the Universal title looks to be locked in.

qWKT0kY.jpgBiZtTZH.jpg

10: Asuka defeated Becky Lynch to retain the RAW Womens – a great sprint of a match where both women worked at a frantic pace hitting a series of big spots on one another. Becky tried for the Dis-arm-her but Asuka had a counter which transitioned into an Asuka lock. Becky refused to tap and struggled to get to the ropes but eventually the pain proved to be too much. This was well and truly over a 4 star match.

GLuuIk0.jpgIRv15mF.jpg8DUgGJe.jpgiEPPBF2.jpgcOatjiD.jpgacfCmt8.jpg

11: John Cena wins the Elimination Chamber and the WWE title – so was this better than the United States title match … hmmm … it was close either way both worked so well. Brock Lesnar 7 John Cena opened proceedings, over the next few minutes all 6 men were released without an elimintion. Rey Mysterio eliminated Dolph Ziggler after Brock had hit an F-5 on him. John Cena & Adam Cole formed an unlikely alliance and overpowered Brock Lesnar, Cole nailed a Last Shot (Shining Wizard tot eh back of Brock’s head and Cena then got him up and hit an Attitude Adjustment and made the pin. Fin Balor hit a 1916 (lifting single under-hook DDT) on Rey Mysterio ensuring we would have a new champion. Cole with a Panama Sunrise (Super Flip Piledriver) on Finn. Cena and Cole are the last 2 left. They go at it. Cole hits the side of the Chamber hard. Cena applied the STFU on Cole who struggled before surrendering. Winner and 1,000,000 times World Champion John Cena. Looks like it will be Cena vs Punk at Mania.

WWE RAW 16: Barclays Center Brooklyn New York

Pre-Show: Ever-Rise, Hawkins & Ryder, Undisputed Era (Fish O’Reilly), Lucha House Party and

American Alpha defeated local workers

Steph & Regal are out and they book AJ Styles to face Conor McGregor at Fastlane for the United States Title – Daniel Bryan comes out and says he doesn’t care about the title as long as AJ leaves him enough of McGregor to make their match interesting at Wrestlemania.

Rey Mysterio comes out and says if Steph & Regal are in the business of handing out title shots at Fastlane then he wants his WWE title back … John Cena comes out and agrees tot eh match and it’s booked.

CM Punk comes out and laughs -he says he’s happy to see Cena and Rey beat the hell out of each other because at Mania nobody is going to prevent him getting his moment.

B1IPD0D.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

1: Daniel Bryan defeated Shad Gaspard – Daniel Bryan took on one half of the Cryme Tyme tag team. This was pretty fun and Gasard and Bryan actually had pretty good chemistry in the ring.

6lRXD3L.jpgjQ01OPC.jpg6kBMlp3.jpgJONALeS.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

2: Mickie, Serena, Candice & Ember defeated 4 Local workers – Ahhhh the old classic we have no real plans for you right now so we are throwing you into a multi-person match trope. The four Main Roster ladies won this pretty comfortably with Candice LeRae nailing the La Quebrada for the win.

Y0ZPJhe.jpgutD54Ep.jpg

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn cut a promo on how they are going to go into Mania as Tag Champs.

Backstage: Secret Society respond to Kevin & Sami saying that they intend to get their titles back.

Paul Heyman and the worlds Greatest Tag Team come out and talk about how they are the greatest tag team in history

mCh6fPZ.jpg4zyp9Y3.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

3: WGTT defeated The S.A.T (Wil & Joel Maximo) – I’m sure Zelina Vega was happy to see members of her family in a WWE Ring and the veteran Spanish Announce Team showed some excellent chemistry here. This was another solid outing whose result was never in doubt.

xF4Zkeg.jpg5NoOotn.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

4: Velocity defeated Blue World Order (Blue Meanie & Stevie Richards) – Nostalgia can add a lot to a match but I’m sorry I’m just not nostalgic for The Blue Meanie’s brand of non wrestling. Stevie Richards is still solid but the meanie was pretty awful here and a botch almost injured Cedric Alexander who was clearly unimpressed. The other three men lifted this to barely acceptable.

The Horsewomen cut a promo about their match against the MMA Horsewomen at Wrestlemania

4Dfo7AT.jpgqWKT0kY.jpg0fWqldX.jpgDCWvak2.jpg

The Kabuki Warriors cut a promo, Io Shirai comes out and says she will take the Womens title from Asuka at Mania. She brings out her Thunderstruck tag partner from Mayu Iwatani guesting from NXT for a match next

0fWqldX.jpgDCWvak2.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

5: Thunderstruck (Io & Mayu Iwatani) defeated Vanity & Amber Rodriguez - This was really just a showcase for Io giving her another match to raise her profile on the road to Mania. It was a solid outing that concentrated on wrestling rather than jiggling and preening. Io hit the Thunder splash for the win.

4Dfo7AT.jpgqWKT0kY.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

6: Kabuki Warriors def two Local Women – This was actually a pretty good bout considering it was another one of tonight's bouts designed to give a Wrestlemania participant a quick clean victory. Asuka looked great here.

Mnr9au1.jpg7f0n5dF.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

7: Boss & Hug Connection def 2 local women – It was nice of the WWE to give seemingly every local indy woman’s worker from the Tri-State area a chance to eb on TV tonight. Jenny Rose and LaDiva were clearly chosen because of their physical similarities to Bayley and Sasha but that's where the similarities ended. Bayley hit a Bayley to Belly on Rose and Sasha was then tagged in to apply the Banks Statement for the win.

iEPPBF2.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

8: Rey Mysterio def The Amazing Red – Another one of Zelina Vega’s relatives hits the ring this time against Rey Mysterio. Red has had a long and storied career for places like TNA, ROH, various Japanese feds and just about every indy promotion in the US over the years and what he lacks in subtlety he more than makes up for in flashy moves. Seeing him go at it with Rey Mysterio was a real treat for fans of high flying spot fests. None of these matches have been in doubt tonight but they have on the whole been entertainingly worked by competent workers except Blue Meanie – who may well be getting a visit from JBL if Cedric Alexander has his way.

BiZtTZH.jpgOBSlYIK.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

9: Becky & Charlotte def 2 Local Workers – Taeler Hendrix & Allie Recks bear more than passing resemblances to Becky and Charlotte respectively which was clearly a deliberate move booking wise (much like the earlier Sasha & Bayley opponents). Taeler is an attractive girl who has worked for TNA & ROH and she’s prefect for this sort of work. Charlotte applied the Figure 8 on Recks. For the win.

h9VXQNl.jpgWgdbnQt.jpg

10: AJ Styles defeated Frank Mir – At last a match between 2 Main Roster talents and what a great bout it was. Mir is probably too old to have a long run in the WWE but he has a good skill-set and as a stand-in for Conor McGregor him being in this match with AJ Styles made total sense. The story here was AJ trying tactics to counter a MMA style bad-ass before nailing a Pele kick to get the knock-down before applying the Calf Crusher. This was a 4 star bout on a night that has largely been 3 to 3 and ½ star matches designed to give people momentum and that made it stand out.

h9VXQNl.jpgbZO8OJK.jpg

AJ and Conor exchange a few unpleasantaries post match as AJ exits and Conor makes an entrance for his match. McGregor holds the belt in AJ’s face and says the belt is AJ’s if he’s man enough to take it.

bZO8OJK.jpg2oG9qTy.jpg

11: Conor McGregor defeated Low-Ki to retain the US Title – Low-Ki had a WWE run back in the day (where he didn’t win many friends) and even won the 2nd season of NXT when it was a contest. He might have won a few friends tonight though because this was around a 9 to 10 minute match but they packed a lot into those 9 minutes. As a stand in for AJ Low-Ki is a good choice and McGregor demonstrated exactly how he planned to ground and pound Styles at Fastlane. This was short but exciting.

GLuuIk0.jpgumjfmcp.jpgiEPPBF2.jpgwLd4jkv.jpg

Cena cuts a short promo before his match with Sin Cara. Both Rey and CM Punk come out to watch the match,

GLuuIk0.jpgumjfmcp.jpg

12: John Cena defeated Sin Cara to retain the WWE title – It was a funny night for the WWE – 12 relatively short matches all around 10 minutes long with only two featuring only Main Roster talents but those matches did their job and the last 3 bouts of the night were all 4 star bouts in terms of entertainment. Sin Cara wasn’t going to win the WWE title but as a warm up for a defence against Rey he makes total sense. Sin Cara took his chance to impress and pulled out some of his best moves before taking an Attitude Adjustment.

Kazuchika Okada bidding war!!! NJPW is struggling to retain the services of Okada with his friends Nick & Matt Jackson trying to get him to jump ship to AEW and the WWE also reportedly showing interest.

WgdbnQt.jpgumjfmcp.jpg

An unlikely tag team appears to have formed in the WWE. Sin Cara & Frank Mir were put together in a pre-show match at Main Event to give them a win after their losses on RAW and showed excellent chemistry. Rumours have them going by the name of Spacestation Mir going forward.

American companies Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and Ring of Honor (ROH) have some bad blood between them. Management of PWG are saying ROH has sold out and gone all corporate whilst ROH officials point to the signing of controversial people like Ryan Reeves and George Murdoch (Tyrus) as a sign that PWG has fully embraced trash wrestling.

WWE Smackdown 16: Madison Square Garden

Pre-Show: Lethal Warriors, Valhalla (King Corbin & Killian Dain), The Usos, Rusev Day and Kings of the Bar (Kassius Ohno & Sheamus) defeated local workers.

hJMQkBd.jpgE0VCOAY.jpg

The show starts with The Shield in the ring – they talk about how they are going to go to war with each other at Mania but that wont split them apart and how they have overcome the petty disagreements of the past.

GhH9Qf3.jpg

ijzlqqI.jpgqqiIso2.jpgnuePMhF.jpgs8Ef80G.jpgpl9zoKe.jpg

Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse logo comes up – Brays happy smiling and totally not an evil cult leader face comes up on the Titantron. He talks about how the Shield know nothing about the horrors of War but that he knows all about horror. He says that their war is far from over and that Fastlane Seth will come to understand true horror and HE will regain his title.

l6cPZi3.jpg5eCn9Is.jpgDklBKbV.jpghJMQkBd.jpgE0VCOAY.jpg

Eric Young, Robert Roode and James Storm hit the stage and Roode cuts a brilliant promo about how SMACKDOWN isn’t just the Shield or The Family show and about how he and his friends have worked too long and too hard without the recognition they deserve and how tonight he wants to take Roam Reigns on and if Reigns is man enough he’ll put his Wrestlemania shot on the line. Seth says Roode has to be joking and that Roman has worked too hard to get that shot but if Roode wants to fight him then he’s more than happy for the Shield to take on him and one of his cronies if he wants to prove himself.

wLd4jkv.jpgX4fdyhd.jpgiEPPBF2.jpg

Backstage: CM Punk cuts a promo on John Cena & Rey Mysterio saying it doesn’t matter which one wins at Fastlane because he’s going to get his Wrestlemania moment and walk out of the show of shows with the WWE title.

WIXTu8Z.jpgy5V1qAf.jpg

1: Braun Strowman retained the Intercontinental title over Apollo Crews – This was solid but Braun’s reign has been less than spectacular so far and this was another match that suffered from a lack of deeper psychology or meaning to the work.

K8EmVCC.jpgeVYBZjE.jpgMpN8uib.jpgslm3PfD.jpgCf4cPa2.jpgVfL1jMk.jpg

Alexa & Iiconics are backstage talking cattily about Stacy Keibler. Stacy approaches them and says they need to shut their mouths or she will shut them for them. Alexa says you and what army and the Beautiful People appear and Stacy says this army and that Alexa and The IIconics can face her and Beautiful People later tonight

s8Ef80G.jpgpl9zoKe.jpghGmqBm6.jpgPxlwCUo.jpg

2: The Family defeated Gulak & Nese – The master of Power-Point style and his off-sider made it to tv this week where they took on two totally not members of an evil cult with predictable but fairly entertaining results. Harper and Rowan are way over with the crowd since their return to Brays side and they got a great reaction as they tossed their smaller opponents around the ring.

qqiIso2.jpg2PS4Tx1.jpg

3: Abigail defeated Carmella – Talking of benefiting from Bray adjacency less than 6 months ago the artist formerly known as Rosemary and Courtney Rush was probably thinking about leaving the business and pursuing other options but now that she’s Abigail she’s looking like she’s getting a huge push. The Princess of Staten Island on the other hand seems to have fallen down the pecking order. Abigail won the match with a Sister Abigail.

ijzlqqI.jpgnuePMhF.jpgEo2Qxh4.jpgvdHjVtX.jpg

4: Bray Wyatt & The Acolyte def The Colons – This was legitimately great. Both teams have such natural chemistry with their partners that it all looked effortless out there. Bray left the mask at home (except for a brief flash during the Funhouse segment earlier in the night). The Acolyte won with the Absolution (a renamed version of his Rolling Cutter) on Epico.

slm3PfD.jpgCf4cPa2.jpgVfL1jMk.jpgK8EmVCC.jpgeVYBZjE.jpgMpN8uib.jpg

5: Stacy Keibler, Velvet Sky & Angel Williams def Alexa Bliss, Billie Kay & Peyton Royce – This was pretty darn good for what it was, of course it was a jigglefest but a pretty top quality jigglefest.

9TMrFNG.jpgKL6QsYZ.jpg

6: Cesaro retained the 24/7 title over Big Show – It wouldn’t be a WWE Madison Square Garden show if it didn’t have an appearance from a classic wrestler and tonight we got the return of the Big Show. What Big Show lacks in mobility he makes up for in sheer size. Show kept teasing his big punch but it was Cesaro with a series of Very European Uppercuts that was landing the blows here. Big Show started to stagger and finally went down. Seeing Cesaro then try to get him into the Swing was downright hilarious and he also failed to hit a Neutralizer as Show was just too darn big and cumbersome. Finally Cesaro settled for the Sharpshooter but Show powered out of the move. Cesaro sold his increasing frustration well. Show mounted a comeback before another series of Very European Uppercuts had him staggering and then Cesaro broke out one of his old finishers the Roaring Swiss Uppercut (A discus rather than pop-up European Uppercut) to take down the big man and Cesaro made the pin to retain his title.

hJMQkBd.jpgE0VCOAY.jpg5eCn9Is.jpgDklBKbV.jpg

7: The Shield defeated Beer Money – Wow … just wow. This was absolutely fantastic. Two classic teams of the 21st century duking it out in a pretty darn awesome display of tag team wrestling. This had it all as it ebbed and flowed with both teams hitting some big spots and getting near falls. Beer Money with a DWI on Seth but Reigns made the save. The Big Dog took control for the next few minutes hitting his greatest hits on his two opponents before Beer Money rallied for a two on one. It was then Rollins turn to make a save after a DWI. Eventually Rollins and Reigns took control and with Roode out of play they hit a double Powerbomb for the pin on Storm much to the delight of the crowd who had just watched a genuinely epic titanic struggle.

Aurora 8/9 with a bonus point for Beer Money vs The Shield

Anaddeo89 6/9 with one bonus point for Beer Money vs The Shield

I was doing the Snoopy Dance when Okada's contract came up and made a sizeable offer. AEW did the same. I imagine exactly the same thing would happen in real life if his contract came up.

As for the 3 other people chosen one has a bright immediate future and one has a very dark future indeed.

Hope people are enjoying this. Feedback is always appreciated

Okada wow, hopefully you get him. I have found it hard trying to win over workers with contracts on my NJPW save, seems AEW offer the house to everyone. They got Prince Devitt, Braun Strowman, Cesaro, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Brodie Lee, The Revival and a few others, all that I bid for.

It's harder for NJPW to get lucrative foreign TV deals which makes it harder for them to make lots of money. The mod is good that way in that Japan gets great match scores but poor money - their workers are more loyal (Naito is loyal to NJPW for instance) but the ones who aren't can be lured away with the right money because their home feds simply struggle to match the money once it gets high. </p><p> </p><p> I actually think Okada might jump to the WWE in the real world given some of his statements. If you look at it he can't achieve anything more than he has in Japan and in the WWE he can do the one thing no Japanese pro has ever truly done and that's become "The Guy" over the broad fanbase rather than just the hard core base. There is a risk he could fail but he seems like the kind of guy who would be willing to back himself to succeed. Not saying I think he WILL jump but unlike some he'd definitely consider it. I think it's one of the reasons they have worked so hard to make Naito the guy after screwing it up and not pulling the trigger with him last time because there is a sense that the WWE (and perhaps AEW now) might make an enormous offer for Okada.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="dc1KNod.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/dc1KNod.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p> </p><p> </p><p> Look those girls look pretty healthy to me.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <img alt="ITNFpJo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ITNFpJo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Oh wait …. eek … quick run people before we're all doomed!</p></div><p></p><p></p>
