2019 was an interesting year, I landed a new job, Proposed and then we had our first baby. The UK Wrestling scene was bursting with a ton of talent and I loved going to watch my favorite show every month in Manchester. Sadly in November 2019 the promotion We went to watch in Manchester closed down. there was more promotions that I could go and see but this was different, It felt like a family and in a small venue too.

At the start of January I started to look into launching my own brand of wrestling in Manchester, I contacted a few venues and even approached a few British legends for some advice and help. I managed to get in contact with FWA Legend Doug Williams who was great and after a few meeting he agreed to come on board as part owner of the promotion, This was a great deal but he had a few rules he wanted to place on the promotion before he signed.

Showcase Championship

Drew wanted a championship designed for the new breed of UK Wrestlers, This title would have to be defended at every show and have a 20 minute time limit.

Stay in One region

The wrestling company would have to stay in Manchester for at least 2 years.

Strong Style

Doug Wants the promotion to be the great Strong style of British wrestling.

12 Events a year

To start we agreed to have only one event a month. On the last Friday night of every month.

So that was the start, the whole of January I spent contacting talent to work our first show in February I signed up to twitter and started to promote our first show called Uprising! this will see the start of the U23 Tournament to crown our first Champion. There will also be a Women's match and a 6 man match. All will be revealed soon!!

February 4th 2020

After a few days promoting PWM on Social Media I had a lot of people asking who will be in the Under 23 Tournament. So I announced that We would publish names. so here are the first 4 that will be in.

From Wakefield in Yorkshire, he started training at the age of 11 and currently trains at NGW in West Yorkshire by Nathan Cruz. His first training match was in 2012 and debuted professionally in 2017.

Since then one of his standout matches was been against Kip Sabian at Tuesday Night Graps.

After that match, Kip went onto Instagram to praise working with Joe and called him ‘the future of the industry’ and also refers to him as his ‘wrestling son’

Kyle Fletcher is a wrestler born and raised on the Northern Beaches in Sydney, Australia.He moved over to the United Kingdom to further his career and pursue the dream of being a full-time professional wrestler. During his time in the UK he has wrestled for many promotions and normally teams with Mark Davis to form the Aussie Open.

Ricky Knight Jr is from the famous Knight family of British wrestling. His family own and run the WAW wrestling promotion, and he is the nephew of WWE superstar (and former Women’s Champion) Paige.

Gabriel has been training since he was 11 years old and can wrestle with the best! Gabriel blends old and new to showcase the best in British wrestling.

The first four names that we posted had some great reactions from fans online and has seen tickets increase already. so Today we posted the last four to take part.

The match ups will be announced later.

Kurtis Chapman is quickly becoming the wrestler that every promotion in the country is looking to bring in and have perform on their shows.

If we could give points on potential Scotty would be a definite ten. He's simply one of the most exciting young wrestlers in the world right now, and he's being handled to perfection by OTT. Scotty is incredibly versatile, and already appears able to match up with pretty much anyone and put on a real show. He's athletic, but technical, he's charismatic, yet works his butt off in the ring. Scotty might just be the next big thing!

Dan Moloney is a good strong style power house wrestler. He currently wrestles for companies such Fight Club Pro and ATTACK! , and has wrestled in CHIKARAs King of Trios.

One week before our first event, everyone involved are nervous but excited, The frog and Bucket is a small venue around 300 sell out, we are hoping for over 100 for our first show.

February 28th 2020

So the date finally game, February 28th saw us have a first show Uprising. We going live from the Frog and Bucket in Manchester Center!!!

It was great to meet everyone who was taking part and we were thankful to have some friends do some free work for us in return for tickets.

The Clock was ticking down and we was nervous and excited.

It wasn't long until the first bell, we sold 223 tickets for the show which we were pleased with. Before we started with the matches I went out and thank everyone for coming. I explained a bit more about the promotion and that it will mostly be hard hitting wrestling action but as we are in the frog and bucket we may see some interesting matches.

Under 23 Tournament

Scotty Davis Vs Big Guns Joe

match rating: 25

So we kicked the night off with the first Under 23 Tournament takes place as athletic, but technical Scotty Davis take on Manchester's own Big Guns Joe!

Both these young men gave us a great opening match with Scotty Davis suplexing Big Joe at least 8 times.

Dani Luna Vs Laura Di Matteo

match rating: 31

The next match of the night saw two interesting ladies battle each other. Dani Luna a a young Women who recently signed for the NXT UK she has a shown over the last year she can go with anybody, Laura Di Matteo has Great technique, great strikes and painful submissions and they both gave their all in this match.

The Raffle was great fun and the winner won two tickets to the next show plus a PWM Tee.

The Anti-Fun Police Vs The Young Guns.

After the half way interval the Anti- Fun Police made their way to the ring an announced that they are in PWM to make sure there is no FUN!! Their opponents The Young Guns came out next, these guys have a very bright future, trained by The Grizzled Young Veterans and they recently made their Progress Wrestling Debuts!!

they young lads from Manchester had the crowd behind them and took the AFP to the limit with some great looking and painful kicks and chops to the chests.

It was Chief Deputy Dunne who hit Fun Stopper (Springboard double knee facebuster) for the pin fall.

Under 23 Tournament

Kyle Fletcher Vs Ricky Knight Jr

match rating: 41

The Main Event came and we was excited for this one, Kyle is one heck of a wrestler and we wanted to showcase that so putting him a 2nd generation wrestler in Ricky Knight Jr was a great idea. The Aussie Arrow and Ricky put and a match that showcased there technical abilities and Ricky came close to winning with a beautiful moonsalt from the top rope, But Kyle Fletcher picked up the pin fall with the grim stone finisher.

So that was the end of our first show. We was pleased with what we put on. For this show we organised Travel and hotels and put on food for everyone but sadly that cost us too much, so we may have to cut back, On a whole we lost 2,751 on the show, we knew going onto this that we would lose in the first year so we will have to see how long our money will last.

We made sure we thanked the crowd before they left and announced our next shows would now take place on Sundays so they wouldn't clash with some other promotions.
