Triple H (Paul Levesque) takes over Wrestling operations of the WWE!

skPGGjK.jpg

As of 23:59 last night Vince McMahon relinquished control of the Wrestling aspects of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), the company wishes to inform our shareholders that Mr. McMahon will have an oversight of the financial, marketing and sponsor negotiations. This is a well prepared, well thought out transition and Mr. Levesque will have the best team possible behind him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The news that Vince has thought this through appears to be misguided, sources say Vince acted on the advice of a psychic. Infamous Psychic John Edward allegedly told him that this move would make him the first ever Trillionaire

This will not include Chris Benoit as I am not comfortable with booking him in game. I think my views have become a little different since I became a father and I hope that anyone reading this can respect that. For my part I respect those who would have included him but in this universe he retired due to a neck injury and has left the wrestling business. He runs a successful Pizza restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia called Wolverine Pizza.(Just wanted to end this on a lighter note)

<p>I understand your position on Benoit and respect your decision even if I disagree.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm sure Wolverine Pizza tastes fantastic.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Also, I'm sure the Davey Meltzherheart part was parody but I also could see it being reality.</p><p> </p><p>

It's Vince after all.</p>

<p>Fair play to you, his is a horrible time for wrestling (in my opinion). Good stuff to you for taking up the mantle. And good luck. Also, massively agree about Benoit. I do the same. Wrestling is supposed to be fun. Can't separate that from wrestling. Totally can't go there. </p><p> </p><p>

Good luck with your game.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Spike Dudley</strong> vs. Rene Dupree</p><p>

Always Spike. Always.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Chris Jericho & Christian</strong> vs. Hurricane & Rosey</p><p>

Should be a good match though. Christian for the win. Or Jericho.</p><p> </p><p>

Test vs. <strong>Shawn Michaels</strong></p><p>

Only one winner.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

WWE Womens Championship</p><p> </p><p>

Molly Holly © vs. <strong>Lita</strong></p><p>

Oooh. Can't call it. Wait... Lita.</p><p> </p><p>

Mark Henry vs. <strong>Rob Van Dam</strong></p><p>

RVD. Has to be.</p><p> </p><p>

WWE World Tag Team Championship</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Evolution (Batista & Ric Flair)</strong> vs. The Dudley Boyz</p><p>

I want to say Dudleys so bad but I think it'll work better with them chasing. So, unfortunately Evo goons.</p>

WWE Raw January 5th 2004 from The Pyramid in Memphis, TN

Commentators: Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler

OVjRAr2.jpgqWAk1i4.jpg

Raw opens with a nervous Eric Bischoff talking with The Coach in his office. EB is perplexed that the board have ratified the decision to bring back Steve Austin, Coach is sympathetic then surprised when Bischoff reads that Stone Cold will be appointed Sheriff of Raw.

kBt7gr1.jpg2UlzUm6.jpg

The Commentary team portray excitement in line with the crowds reaction.

LlsmIzy.jpg

Vince McMahon struts in and says what a great decision it will be for the Raw ratings to have Austin back, leaving Bischoff puzzled, Coach then pipes up claiming that he thought Mr. McMahon hated Austin.

McMahon claims that he has a good feeling about tonight so it must be because of the return of Stone Cold.

Back from the break the team of JR and Lawler review footage of Spike's devastating concussion at the hands of La Resistance.

Spike Dudley vs. Rene Dupree

Pre Match: Rene Dupree entered first getting halfway down the ramp before whispering to Robert Conway who then proceeds to walk to the back.

Match: Spike started with a quick flurry before the bigger Dupree began to take over pounding on the perennial underdog. Dupree got too arrogant though and Spike started a rally which had Conway running from the back to interfere, that didn't end too well though. Spike was able to send Dupree into the ropes just as Conway arrived on the apron prompting a collision, Spike capitalised on the stunned Dupree to hit the Dudley Dog for the win.

Winner: Spike Dudley

Match Time: 8:25

Rating: C-

Post Match: The Dudley Boyz came out to celebrate with Spike on his return. The happy moment was destroyed as Evolution attacked from behind, laying out the Dudleyz ahead of their match.

Next up a video showing highlights of Goldberg in WCW Jackhammering Hogan and holding the Championship belt up high. The video ends with Goldberg glaring at the camera before saying "Who's next?"

7VCXmRp.jpgf3JKv53.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgMTU623Z.jpgFSyyua7.jpg

Chris Jericho & Christian vs. The Hurricane & Rosey

Pre Match: A replay is shown during the break with Christian attempting to make amends with Jericho, the recap ending with Y2J saying "We will see how committed your are tonight".

Match: Christian started off the match slowly, seemingly too relaxed quickly getting himself into trouble. Jericho got the momentum back once tagged in taking advantage of the Super Hero in Training, hitting a running bulldog and setting up for the Lionsault. Hurricane was able to break up the pin attempt as Christian was too busy arguing with fans at ringside. The match momentum swung again to The Hurricane & Rosey until Christian tagged himself back in and hit a low blow on Rosey while the ref was asking Jericho to leave the ring.

He then followed up with an Unprettier for the win.

Winner: Christian & Chris Jericho

Match Time: 10:57

Rating: B-

Post Match: Christian celebrated wildly as Jericho seemed unsure of Christian's intentions. JR mentioned the it seemed Christian was sinking to a new low and he wouldn't like to have him as a tag partner.

Jh1liKt.jpgDjTR0W9.jpg

Mick Foley is in the ring, he is addressing the seeming disrespect of the younger generation towards the people who paved the way. Foley mentions Terry Funk and the esteem and awe that he held him to. The music of Evolution hits and Randy Orton strolls down Intercontinental Championship draped over his shoulder, after taking the microphone straight out of Foley's hands he says that he respects those who came before him just not sad, pathetic old men like Funk and Foley. Claiming they hang on for too long depriving studs like him of the spotlight. He then nails Mick Foley with an RKO, leaving him down and out while posing on the turnbuckle.

Ox5jnEp.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgMhfBjr1.jpg

Test vs. Shawn Michaels

Pre Match: HBK comes to the ring while JR comments on his continuing issues with Triple H, mentioning that Evolution have been barred from ringside by Mr. McMahon.

Match: Test began the match charging at HBK before he even had a chance to remove his vest, pounding away at the Showstopper. A rather quick pump handle slam attempt was reversed by Michaels who then took more control. Test briefly swung things his way with an eye rake before setting up the Test Drive. Michaels was one step ahead though and countered into the Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere. 1...2...3! HBK gets the victory.

Winner: "HBK" Shawn Michaels

Match Time: 7:35

Rating: B-

Post Match: HBK grabs a microphone and tells Triple H that he isn't done with him yet. If their paths cross tonight it won't be friendly.

QcdyI7Q.jpgK4Od85J.jpg

Back from the commercial break Batista is pumping iron in Evolution's locker room as Ric Flair walks up to him. Naitch tell him that focus and power and needed tonight and don't think the job is already done after their attack on the Dudley's earlier.

Molly Holly © vs. Lita

Womens Championship match.

Pre Match: Theodore Long interrupts and claims that Jazz has been neglected for too long and he is expecting Sheriff Austin to make it right just like he did by awarding Mark Henry a number 1 contenders match for Orton's Intercontinental Title.

Match: Lita had a strong opening and constantly had the champ on the back foot until she was distracted by the music of Jazz. Molly had a brief period of dominance until Lita wrestled back control, the Champ could see the way this match was heading and rolled outside took her belt and began to walk away. Lita caught up and rolled Holly back into the ring, as Lita re-entered however she was hit in the face with the Womens championship. The referee decided to call for the bell awarding Lita the win by Disqualification, Molly retains the Womens Championship as a result.

Winner: Lita (By Disqualification)

Match Time: 6:24

Rating: C

Post Match: Molly continues the beating until Stone Cold appears on the titantron. He says that next week Molly's Royal Rumble opponent will be revealed when Jazz "What!?", Victoria "What!?", Trish Stratus "What!?" and Lita! "What!?" face off in a number one contenders match. Before ending with "Oh, before you continue that whupping, consider the motivation it would give Lita to take that belt from you."

LlsmIzy.jpg2EgIbMb.jpg

We come back to the music of Vince McMahon as he struts down to the ring, the chairman talked about how everything always comes up in his favour. He is interrupted by the music of Kane and the Big Red Machine storms to ringside, he demands McMahon make it stop!. When Vince says make what stop, it sent Kane into a rage, choke-slamming the Chairman before punching out the Calvary who came to save him. The Big Red Machine grabbed a chair and Tombstoned McMahon onto it before screaming "I know it's you!".

dT73qMM.jpg w/ 7Y7yU9X.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgszEnfoc.jpg

Mark Henry vs. Rob Van Dam

#1 contenders match for the Intercontinental Title

Pre Match: The mood was a little sombre as the previous segment was recapped showing footage of McMahon being wheeled to the back on a stretcher.

Match: Henry's power game was in effect early as Theodore Long chirped constantly from ringside. Mr. Monday Night could not be put away though and rallied strongly with kicks, leading to the often mentioned "Educated feet" remark from JR. Theodore Long was a constant thorn in RVD's side eventually tripping him spoiling a rolling thunder attempt. As the referee was distracted with Long, Henry grabbed a chair from ringside only to be hit with a Van Daminator upon re entering the ring. The referee turns around just in time to count the 1,2,3.

Winner: Rob Van Dam

Match Time: 9:14

Rating: B-

Post Match: As RVD is celebrating a rumble is heard through the crowd, suddenly Randy Orton appears in the ring to hit the RKO outta nowhere.

mAglQTk.gif

We then cut to the back as a stretcher containing an unconscious Vince McMahon is loaded into an ambulance by a team of paramedics. A worried Shane and Stephanie are flanked by Bischoff and Coach who let them know they will punish Kane and make sure that justice is served. Shane mumbles that Austin is the Sheriff, he'll know what to do.

QcdyI7Q.jpgK4Od85J.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpg7fNPSpE.jpgRev1kZN.jpg

Evolution (Batista & Ric Flair) vs. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley)

World Tag Team Championship

Pre Match: The Dudley Boyz walk to the ring with purpose while Batista and Flair stroll down with confidence, Naitch Stylin and Profilin' as only he can.

Match: The Dudley Boyz attack as the champs are sliding in the ring eager for retribution, eventually a tag team match breaks out as Flair and Bubba start. The contest is back and forth as the two men take turns in either bullying or using underhanded tactics to control the match. When D-Von and Batista are in the ring JR mentions that it's a mentor/student battle without mentioning the Deacon or Reverend charectars.

In the end it's Batista's power that wins the day, hitting the Batista Bomb on Bubba after a rake of the eyes from Flair. Evolution retain the Tag Team gold.

Winner: Evolution (Batista & Ric Flair)

Match Time: 12:24

Rating: B

Post Match: Orton runs down to the ring to help his Evolution stable mates in a beatdown, D-Von gets a Batista Bomb through a table before Bubba is set up to be powerbombed onto the mats at ringside. Before anything happens though we hear Glass shatter as Austin rides to ringside on his DTA 3:16 emblazoned ATV chasing Evolution away before Bubba Dudley has his career ended.

F7KYSkA.jpgMhfBjr1.jpgcacVkAE.jpg

Back from the break Austin is in the ring, he says as Sheriff he needs to make sure that there is justice and the rule of law. He mentions that Kane will be dealt with next week once the injuries to "Vince" are clear. Austin then calls out Triple H and Shawn Michaels saying that it's time for the Sheriff to make a ruling. HBK comes down first and shakes Austin's hand, The Game makes them both wait before eventually heading down to the ring.

Austin said that this rivalry deserves a showdown, and as he is the Sheriff Austin feels it deserves a Last Man standing match for the Title at the Royal Rumble! Both men then square up to each other as Stone Cold smiles anticipating a fight, Bischoff appears at the top of the ramp dispatching a host of wrestlers to separate the pair. Triple H begins backing away and heads up the ramp as the show closing graphic appears, just before Raw ends though HBK breaks through the pack and leaps onto Hunter as we fade to black.

Show Rating: B+

Notable Incidents:

Backstage Mick Foley took Johnny Ace to wrestlers court for being obnoxious, he had to buy several cases of beer for everyone.

Watcher Thoughts (Tiebreaker): Who will win the Royal Rumble?

----

Around the Wrestling World

- WWE have lost out on Kevin Nash, who decided to sign for NWA:TNA.

- However they are rumoured to be close to signing Dusty Rhodes and Scott Hall.

- Christopher Daniels suffered a Depressed Zygomatic Fracture at the last NJPW event and will be out for around 2 months.

I realise that the TEW20 is out so people may not be as interested in TEW16 for now. I will transfer this over once the full game is out.

WWE SmackDown January 8, 2004 from Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL

Commentators: Michael Cole & Tazz

6dl2y3u.jpglfk2Uqt.jpg

Smackdown opens with a replay Kane taking out Vince McMahon on Raw this past Monday:

"The Chairman talked about how everything always comes up in his favour.

"We then cut to the back as a stretcher containing an unconscious Vince McMahon is loaded into an ambulance by a team of paramedics. A worried Shane and Stephanie are flanked by Bischoff and Coach who let them know they will punish Kane and make sure that justice is served."

The announce team portray sombre voices and inform us that Mr.McMahon has suffered several crushed vertebrae and will require neck fusion surgery.

J1zHqwE.jpgZzW2wuC.jpg

Back from the break we are in the lockroom of Los Guerreros, with Eddie Guerrero and Kurt Angle. Kurt mentions to Eddie that Chavo's behaviour the past few weeks are due to the stress of trying to live up to his Uncles legacy.

Eddie is not so sure, saying "Come on Man, you can't believe that! I can feel the hostility, the jealousy! Entiendo? (Understand?). Kurt doesn't give up, eventually persuading Eddie to give Chavo a chance to prove himself in a Tag Team Title match against the Bashams!

Rhyno vs. Nunzio vs. Johnny Stamboli vs. Chuck Palumbo

Royal Rumble qualifier

Pre Match: Smackdown GM Paul Heyman announced that this was punishment for the FBI for losing last week and allowing John Cena to enter the Rumble.

Match: The FBI triple team Rhyno to attempt to gain an advantage, Rhyno quickly gores Stamboli to eliminate him. Next to feel the Gore is Nunzio but Palumbo puts up more of a fight, actually gaining an advantage for a short time. Eventually though Palumbo was Gored and Rhyno picks up the win and Rumble slot.

Winner: Rhyno

Match Time: 7:21

Rating: C-

Post Match: Paul Heyman appears again and informs that Rhyno will enter the Rumble at number 2, saying he expects that his "Man Beast" will set new records in the match.

Next up we see Brock Lesnar being interviewed by Lillian Garcia, he mentions that he is pleased that Big Show has the opportunity to get revenge on his assailant from last week. Brock also mentions that he will not be at ring side and will in fact head back to the hotel to ensure justice is served and Holly doesn't use him as an excuse.

Los Guerreros (Eddie & Chavo) vs. The Basham Brothers w/Shaniqua

Pre Match: Los Guerrerros enter in their lowrider as usual and while Chavo is peppy as usual his uncle Eddie looks distracted.

Match: Chavo motioned for Eddie to start off the match and he does setting up his team well by dominating both Bashams. Chavo seemed to be preoccupied with the Basham's manager Shaniqua and misses several occasions Eddie needed some assistance but after a quick pep talk from Latino Heat he returns focus. It's looking like we might have new champions with Eddie and Chavo displaying a clinic of wrestling until a momentary double team from the Basham's leaves Eddie trying to make it to Chavo for a tag. Chavo leaves the apron motioning that he will be one moment, leaving Eddie to fight back on his own, which he is able to do, just as Eddie fires up he is hit from behind with a chair! It's Chavo! Chavo has hit his uncle with a chairshot, the referee calls for the bell immediately.

Winner: Los Guerreros (By DQ)

Match Time: 12:57

Rating: C+

Post Match: As Eddie Guerrero is announced the winner by Disqualification the Basham's decide to give Eddie a beatdown, Chavo grabs the chair and just sits watching the attack. Finally Chavo rises from the chair and tells the Basham's to leave, before deciding to attack Eddie himself!

Back from the commercial break we see a replay of Chavo turning on Eddie, also showing what happened which the show was on commercial with Chavo hitting the frog splash on Eddie.

NyTvgVR.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgcvDw6xz.jpg

John Cena vs. A-Train

Pre Match: A clip is shown from earlier tonight when Cena was told that this match is punishment for defying Paul Heyman last week and beating the F.B.I. During the entrances Cena of course raps about A-Train, calling him a Wookie and generally being disrespectful.

Match: Cena's rap worked and angered A-Train who was easily countered by Cena who expected a rage filled start from the big Massachusetts native. The big man was able to power his way to dominance hitting the de-railer! but Cena was able to get the big kick out. That was all the Doctor of Thuganomics needed and he rallied and hit the FU for the victory.

Winner: John Cena

Match Time: 7:53

Rating: B-

Post Match: Cena raps about Paul Heyman, until Rhyno runs out and tries to gore Cena who luckily escapes through the crowd.

2QoRNmx.jpgHAdG1KX.jpg

We switch to the locker room where Sable and Torrie Wilson are talking, concerned that Vince McMahon's injury might cost them their jobs they agree it's time to get some protection.

ft4ejJ1.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgQSmQwoR.jpg

Taijiri vs. Rey Mysterio ©

Cruiserweight Championship match.

Pre Match: This is a remactch from last weeks Smackdown and the referee wisely removes Akio & Sakoda from ringside to ensure a fair contest.

Match: This started as a great cruiserweight contest with back and forth action. We saw both competitors signature moves before Rey stepped up a gear and get the win with the 619! Rey Mysterio retains his Cruiserweight Championship.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

Match Time: 8:55

Rating: B-

Post Match: Paul Heyman appears stating that next week we will have a Crusierweight battle royal to decide who will face Rey Mysterio at the Rumble. Heyman also announced that Rey will enter the Royal Rumble at number 4.

J1zHqwE.jpgZzW2wuC.jpg

The next scene is the locker room with Eddie getting stitches on the would across his forehead, Eddie is extremely angry. Angle comes to his side apologising about Chavo's actions, countless times saying that he swears that he didn't know Chavo would turn his back on Eddie.

ZzW2wuC.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpg4GZS8xM.jpg

Kurt Angle vs. Justin Credible

Kurt Angle 5 Minute Challenge

Pre Match: Angle came out a little rushed as he was coming straight from talking with Eddie Guerrero. He got on the microphone and announced that his 5 minute challenge was to get him back up to full fitness, Justin Credible came out as the challenger, with the Smackdown music playing.

Match: As expected this match was the Angle showcase, with the Olympic hero having this contest his own way. Kurt hit the Angle Slam and finished with the Angle Lock for the Submission victory.

Winner: Kurt Angle

Match Time: 3:14

Rating: C-

Post Match: Kurt mentions that he will be back next week so anybody who wants to test themselves is more than welcome to try.

Phpnp2g.jpg0V04guI.jpg

Up next was Paul Heyman talking with Big Show in the back, stating that if he retains his United States Championship tonight he can expect a very healthy Royal Rumble number. He mentions that Hardcore Holly is bad for Smackdown's business and it would not be the worst thing if he was put back on the injured list.

kPAyBcz.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpg0V04guI.jpg

Hardcore Holly vs. The Big Show ©

United States Championship Street fight

Pre Match: Hardcore Holly entered first, chair in hand but waited halfway up the ramp so he could attack Big Show as soon as possible.

Match: Big Show ducked a chair swing and punched the chair so it rebounded in Holly's face. He took the match to the back stage area where the two battled using all sorts of equipment, this was a heard hitting affair although for Hardcore Holly it seemed to mean more. The main in is home state gave the giant US Champion everything he had but could only get some close 2 counts, eventually they battled back to the ringside area where Big Show was clobbered so hard with the ring steps he toppled over through the announce table. Before Hardcore Holly could attempt the pinfall, Brock Lesnar burst through the crowd and over the barriers, Holly turned around to be met with a stiff clothesline. Lesnar threw Hardcore into the ring and hit the F5, not once but twice! by this time Big Show had recovered enough to stagger to the ring and pick up a very lucky three count. Big Show retains the United States title.

Winner: Big Show

Match Time: 11:59

Rating: B

Post Match: Big Show celebrates his win even though he is still basically on dream street. Heyman announces that Big Show will enter at number 25, while Hardcore Holly will be banned from the building.

The show ends with a recap of the announcements for next week: The Cruiserweight #1 contenders Battle Royal, The Kurt Angle 5 minute challenge and hype theorising how Eddie Guerrero and Hardcore Holly will rebound from tonight

Show Rating: B+

I'm...not sure if a partner hitting their own partner with a chair would warrant a DQ. That's a grey area if there ever was one.

Had to kinda bend the rules (not unlike a real life promotion :D) as Eddie was "Furious" with any other result. I was a little bummed because he had no issue with that in real life as it progressed the Los Guerreros break up.

WWE Raw January 12th 2004 from the Nassau Colliseum in Uniondale, NY.

Commentators: Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler

OVjRAr2.jpgqWAk1i4.jpg

kBt7gr1.jpg2UlzUm6.jpgMhfBjr1.jpgcacVkAE.jpg

We begin Raw with the music of Eric Bischoff, flanked by the Coach as always. He makes his way to the ring which is set up for a contract signing. Bischoff mentions that tonight is a momentous night for Raw as the contract is signed for the World Heavyweight Title match at the Royal Rumble. With Paul Heyman banning his only viable challenger from the building that night he is sure that Raw will steal the show. Behind him Coach is acting like a true lackey, nodding and saying "That's right!" repeatedly. EB then proceeds to call out HBK and Triple H. HBK walks out first without his usual swagger, he reluctantly shakes Bischoff's hand and borrows a microphone from ringside. He challenges Triple H to "Get out here and sign the contract, no mind games Hunter!". After what seemed like an eternity Triple H walked down to the ring taking as much time as possible. As Bischoff explains the particulars of the contract signing The sound of "Woos" from the crowd indicates that Ric Flair is walking down the aisle, dressed in a dapper suit he shakes hands with Bischoff, Coach and finally extends his hand to Michaels who pauses for a moment before accepting the handshake offer. Flair however, does his classic denial running his hands against his head instead.

K4Od85J.jpg

HBK grabs the contract angrily and after briefly reading it signs before pushing the contract into Hunter's chest, "Sign it!, no games." is his message to Triple H. Hunter smirks before signing the contract and warning HBK to "be careful what you wish for Shawn, playing The Game that you can't win."

Suddenly Shawn recoils in pain after a low blow from behind by the Nature Boy. While Michaels is leaning over Hunter sets him up for the pedigree, Which leaves HBK vulnerable on the mat. Bischoff and Coach scramble away as Flair clears the table, by this time Batista is in the ring and is instructed to Batista Bomb Michaels through the table, which he does. Raw goes to the break with JR screaming how "This ain't right dammit!".

Lita vs. Trish Stratus vs. Jazz vs. Victoria

Number 1 contenders match for the Womens Championship.

Pre Match: Stone Cold comes down to ringside in his ATV before the match and bans anyone from interfering in this match up. No Managers permitted at ringside also.

Match: This was a Womens brawl from the get go, Lita paired up with Jazz and Trish paired against Victoria in the beginning. This was a fairly even contest, although towards the end it was mostly a contest between Trish and Lita who were the most experienced in the WWE. The match ended when Jazz threw Lita out of the ring after attacking her from behind, just as Trish hit Victoria with a Chick Kick. Jazz turned around into the Chick Kick after gloating about dispensing with Lita and was counted 1,2,3. Trish Stratus is the number 1 contender for the Womens Championship.

Winner: Trish Stratus

Match Time: 7:53

Rating: C+

Post Match: As Trish was celebrating Molly Holly ran into the ring with the intent to attack the new challenger. Trish however was ready and quickly hit the Stratusfaction on Molly.

Back from the break the crowd goes wild as the Raw Sheriff motors down to the ring before doing his trademark "salute" at each of the four corners.

Austin says in his role as the law and order of Raw, Evolution opening up a can of whoop-a** to aid Triple H cannot ruin Raw's premier match at the Royal Rumble. Austin said he searched far and wide for the best person to maintain the law in the Last man standing match but he found the answer closer to home. Who better to be the special guest referee than Scott Hall! He knows both men well and being friends with both he will be impartial. That's the bottom line 'cause Stone Cold said so!

MTU623Z.jpg w/FSyyua7.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgon0PJai.jpg w/AUtwfoM.jpg

The Hurricane w/ Rosey vs. Mark Jindrak w/ Garrison Cade

Pre Match: JR and King put over the importance of qualifying for the Royal Rumble.

Match: This was a roughly even affair as Hurricane performed like a "real" superhero against the larger Jindrak. The Hurricane was in control until he went a little old school and attempted a chokeslam, allowing Jindrak to use his athleticism to begin to dominate. At this moment Cade began to agitate Rosey on the outside distracting the referee and Jindrak. Hurricane tried for the quick roll up but Jindrak kicked out and delivered a kick below the belt as the referee was in the process of removing the respective partners from ringside. The ref turned around as The Hurricane was put in a jack knife pin 1,2,3. Jindrak picks up the tainted victory.

Winner: Mark Jindrak

Match Time: 8:05

Rating: C+

Post Match: The Hurricane argues with the referee trying to persuade him to check the replay but we can hear Referee Jack Doan say "My decision is final, I can only call it how I see it."

Kv6w9EC.jpg

Back from the break we see another Goldberg hype video, showing him dishing out Jackhammers and spears left and right before the man himself says "Who's Next!"

Rev1kZN.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgQcdyI7Q.jpg

D-Von Dudley vs. Batista

Pre Match: With both Bubba, Randy Orton and Ric Flair in action later tonight these two enter the ring alone, with JR mentioning that "Looks like we will get a far contest" with King not so sure.

Match: D-Von began like a rocket attempting to get the big Batista off his feet while avoiding the "Animal's" swipes, eventually he succeeded with a running flying shoulder block momentarily stunning Batista. While Evolution's muscle was stunned D-Von worked on "chopping the tree down" and working on his opponents legs, these two have history and it made the match that little bit spicier. Several underhanded tactics from both competitors where on display until the master of dirty tactics waltzed down to the ring to a chorus of "Woo's". D-Von began to yell at Flair before being hit with a hard clothesline from behind as the big man had recovered from a D-Von chop block. One Batista Bomb later and D-Von is down for the 1,2 and 3!

Winner: Batista

Match Time: 8:30

Rating: B

Post Match: Flair begins to lay the boots to D-Von before Bubba and Spike run down with chairs, which prompts Flair to head back up the ramp with the victor Batista in tow.

f3JKv53.jpg4uP5Ueh.jpg

Backstage we see Christian talking with Trish Stratus, he mentions how Chris Jericho is always talking about Trish and he thinks that she should give him a chance to prove himself. Christian puts his hand on her shoulder to emphasise his point, it's at this moment that Y2J walks around the corner.

7VCXmRp.jpg

"What the hell man?" is Jericho's response after seeing Christian and Trish, both protest their innocence as Christian reminds him to focus on their match later tonight.

7fNPSpE.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgK4Od85J.jpg

Bubba Ray Dudley vs. Ric Flair

Pre Match: We see backstage as Bubba Ray Dudley is in the hands of the trainers, it seems that he was attacked. Eric Bischoff reminds him that his match is now, which fires up Bubba and he heads to the ring.

Match: Bubba started strongly with a lot of fire before "the Dirtiest Player in the Game" used a thumb to the eye and a chop block to ground the already wounded Bubba. Flair followed up by methodically worked the injuries that his opponent had received backstage, until the ECW original used his anger to fire up and strike back. It seemed like an unlikely victory was heading Bubba's way after he was able to hit the Bubba Bomb until.. RKO out of nowhere! while Flair had the referee distracted. The Nature Boy sensed the opportunity and put an unresponsive Bubba in the Figure Four and we see the ref call for the bell after checking on Bubba.

Winner: Ric Flair

Match Time: 8:03

Rating: B

Post Match: Flair and Randy continue the beatdown on the outside until Steve Austin motors down in his ATV chasing off the two Evolution members. Austin grabs a microphone and says "If any member of Evolution interferes in Randy Orton's match tonight I will personally open the biggest can of whup a** on their sorry carcass. That's the bottom line cause STONE COLD said so!".

2Enh8iA.jpgF7KYSkA.jpgkBt7gr1.jpg

We come back from the break to see the medical team attending to another Dudley, this time Spike who is surrounded by a shattered table. Eric Bischoff and Steve Austin are on the scene, with Stone Cold mentioning that the law cannot be disrespected like this. "Next week there will be no d**n repeat by Evolution as long as Steve Austin is on duty" the Sheriff mentions before noting that he has a meeting with Shane McMahon on the fate of Kane after last weeks attack on Mr. McMahon.

7VCXmRp.jpgf3JKv53.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgdT73qMM.jpg w/7Y7yU9X.jpgOTJNIon.jpg

Chris Jericho & Christian vs. Mark Henry w/Theodore Long & Matt Hardy

Pre Match: Theodore Long mention's that his client does not wish to team with somebody that he does not trust like Matt Hardy specifically mentioning that Hardy will have to prove himself in the ring first before Henry will consider entering the match.

Match: Hardy was in the odd position of being booed by the crowd but basically being in a handicap match, every time he was able to create some distance between himself and his opponent "V1" was pleading with Henry to accept a tag. In the end Hardy had enough and grabbed a chair from ringside clobbering Jericho as he tried to get Hardy back in the ring. The referee was left with no choice but to disqualify the team of Hardy and Henry.

Winner: Christian & Chris Jericho

Match Time: 5:45

Rating: C+

Post Match: As Henry went after Hardy for costing him the match, Christian celebrated in an over the top manner for the second week running.

As we come back from the break a vignette about Mick Foley appears. Far from complimentary it shows numerous defeats suffered in Foley's career as the narrator downplay's the career of the "Hardcore Legend". Ending with a clip of Randy Orton hitting the RKO on Foley while the voice over mentions "Paid for by the National association of Randy Orton Fans"

DjTR0W9.jpgJkgqHIJ.jpgszEnfoc.jpg

Randy Orton © vs. Rob Van Dam

Intercontinental Championship

Pre Match: A replay of earlier shows Steve Austin banning Evolution interference in this match. We also see a reply of Rob Van Dam's match from last week that qualified him for this title shot.

Match: This was a contest that had fast paced wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd as we saw an even contest with both wrestlers hitting a showcase of their trademark moves. The competitors seemed to relish that there was no threat of interference, even the Legend Killer surprisingly who would have the most to lose. Both men scored near pinfalls with a draping DDT and the rolling thunder, which excited the crowd. With such an even contest it took a mistake from one of the competitors to provide a winner, RVD attempted the Five Star Frog Splash before Orton had been worn down sufficiently. Orton got the knees up and RVD landed the splash and hit the RKO once Van Dam gingerly arose. Randy Orton retains the Intercontinental Championship.

Winner: Randy Orton

Match Time: 13:30

Rating: B-

Post Match: RVD offered Orton a handshake and it looked like he would accept, The Legend Killer however shook his head and walked up the ramp celebrating.

kpBZlkG.jpg

Before RVD had the chance to leave the ring we heard the music of Shane McMahon who walked to the ring, he shook Van Dam's hand as the pair crossed paths on the ramp. Once in the ring McMhaon got straight to the point. He told the crowd that next week Kane will face two superstars from Smackdown in a handicap match as Paul Heyman graciously allowed a loan in exchange for a Raw Superstar appearing on his brand. Shane mentioned that he hopes Kane suffers in the match and hope that it is the Undertaker playing mind games on the Big Red Machine. "Payback is a B****" is Shane O-Mac's parting response as Raw goes to black.

Show Rating: B+

Notable Incidents:

- Backstage Bubba Ray Dudley was fined after bullying Hurricane to the point that Helms threw a punch at him. After all three Dudley's were unhappy with the fine looks like management made a point with their booking on this show.

- On Heat, both Mark Henry and Rico were injured, the latter suffering a fractured skull while Henry strained his knee ligaments. Quite possibly why he did not participate in the advertised tag team match during Raw.

Sunday Night Heat Spoilers:

Lance Storm defeated Matt Hardy

Rico w/ Miss Jackie defeated Spike Dudley

I had a busy weekend so apologies about the delay in posting Raw. Going forward I think it would be kinda cool to post Raw on Mondays and Smackdown on Thursdays like what actually happened in 2004. Possibly if I get far enough ahead that will change but I feel it's a manageable load for me

Next up the Rumoured Smackdown card.
