Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis held a live event in coordination with the Greenwood Fire Department. The show was well-received by those in attendance and helped raise money for some new equipment for the Department.

In the Main Event, Zippy Deverell defeated Ralph Liotta to retain the Indiana Heavyweight Championship. Liotta looked like he had the match won when Deverell countered the Swinging Neckbreaker and hit a Spinning Bulldog.

In a Women's Division match up, Talia Neema was able to score the singles win over Joy Ryder.

In a tag team division match up, Genesis' Hardcore Inheritance defeated Patterson and Blackburn. Original Sinner was able to pin Jason Patterson.

The opening match saw The Masked Mauler VII get a much-needed victory when he made Johnny Needham submit to the Iron Claw.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis returns to action the Saturday after Thanksgiving with Thanksgiving Turmoil! This show promises to be a blockbuster night of professional wrestling. Sayeed Ali has agreed to the terms of the match and will be in action in CWI once again as he challenges Conner Threepwood for the COTT Mid American Championship.

The Dog Soldiers will be teaming up with a mystery partner to take on all four members of Genesis in an eight-man elimination tag team match. Who will be the last man standing? Who will walk away with the victory? Their partner is rumored to be a privately trained by the legendary Rip Chord and someone with familial ties to the pro wrestling business. Who will it be?

After defeating Philippe LaGrenier, Nate DeMarcus will take on Ozzie Goldstein in a singles contest.

The Rock City Stars will look to rebound and get back in the winning column with a match against the Player's Club, the Wolf Pack will be in action against the new signing of American Gold and so much more!

If he loses to Conner here, Conner is just the better man, Ali needs to prove he can beat him and a short title reign for Ali as a transitional champ could allow you to work another babyface into a top position on the card

Eight-Man Tag

Thirty Minute Time Limit

Elimination Match

The Dog Soldiers and ??? versus Genesis w/ Andrew Gibson

I'm doing a 180 on my original thoughts on this purely because Dreadnought hasn't left his feet or taken a bump yet, and we've already established he can single handedly take out the DS. PJ Strong won't be enough to turn things around.

Singles Match

Thirty Minute Time Limit

Nate "The Great" DeMarcus versus "Pretty Boy" Ozzie Goldstein

Nate beat Phillipe, I doubt you'll have him lose to the tag guy

Singles Match

Thirty Minute Time Limit

Felicia Luck versus Black Diamond

Like always you seem high on Luck, but I think Diamond has taken one too many pins for it to make sense for War Maidens to keep her around. And she's better as a heel so I don't sense a turn.

Tag Team Match

Thirty Minute Time Limit

American Gold versus The Wolf Pack

WrestleWorld existing by this point means The Wolf Pack could be the more over duo here, but American Gold could reasonably challenge for the tag belts with a big win here.

Tag Team Match

Thirty Minute Time Limit

The Rock City Stars versus The Player's Club w/ Lucinda Lush

This is an awkward one, because the stars shouldn't be near the tag titles any time soon, but with heel champs you won't want heel challengers. I'll say keep the Stars strong so they're in touching distance of the COTT belts. But could go either way.

Another win for The American Hard Ass, although it would be nice to see him do something other than the same old squash at this stage.

Bowden Snoop is a recent graduate of the House of Stone. The 18-year-old Snoop has a lot industry insiders’ attention, as he’s got a good look and just looks like a natural babyface. The Hangman is, well, the Hangman. He has really established himself as the monster of CWI -- there are a lot of big dudes on CWI, but The Hangman is the only indestructible monster. This match went longer than expected -- but that’s because right at the beginning of the match Snoop charged Hangman and he backdropped Snoop over the top rope and right onto the hard wooden floor of the Fountain Square Theatre. Snoop got into the ring just before the ten count and the Hangman took a sadistic pleasure in dissecting the young man. The Hangman hit his trademark massive suplex -- this one seemed to be even bigger because Snoop really went up into the air before crashing down into the mat.

In an extremely short match, The Hangman defeated Bowden Snoop in 3:43 by pinfall with a Choke Slam.

A tale of two different kinds of momentum. The Rock City Stars have been on a downward slide since losing the Tag Team Titles to the Canadian Blonds whereas the Player’s Club have been building momentum with several wins in recent months. The Rock City Stars looked good in the early going of the match. They controlled the onset of the match -- and truth be told, they controlled most of the match. They looked like a team that was on the rise back up the rankings -- until Lucinda Lush got on the apron and distracted Stan Manna and Charlie Corner was able to hit his vicious-looking Corner Cutter and the Player’s Club scored a big win over the former Tag Team Champions.

American Gold made their in-ring debut here against a team that seems to be stuck in the middle of the pack. The Wolf Pack have had some successes but have not been able to get over the hump, so to speak, here in Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis. American Gold is a highly touted young team that was seen all over the Reverie Network. This was a solid match up between two young teams. Gold shined early on, with Chamberlain and English showing some very impressive athleticism and some explosive power. Chamberlain is an incredible athlete and he did a standing leap from the ring to the top rope so he could hit a diving crossbody that was very impressive. The Wolf Pack was able to weather the early storm and seize control. They isolated English and really worked him over. They focused on his neck -- trying to set him up for the Hangman’s Neckbreaker that has been used so effectively in the past. The Wolf Pack looked like they had everything under control when English leapfrogged over Noggin and made a diving tag to Chamberlain. Chamberlain came in full of that Detroit fire. He hit two huge dropkicks -- one on Tokoeka that sent him tumbling to the outside. He hit a big Gordbuster on Noggin and made the pin and American Gold got a victory.

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, American Gold defeated The Wolf Pack in 9:45 when Maliek Chamberlain pinned Sean Noggin with a Gordbuster.

Last month, Black Diamond cost Felicia Luck the Women’s Championship. This month, the two women were in the ring with one another. Both women make up the young crew of women’s wrestlers that are loaded with potential. Luck, Diamond, Neema, Frost, Reece, and Wells make up that core. Diamond and Luck had a good, athletic contest. Diamond just oozes charisma and has all the tools to be a star. Luck is physical, moves around the ring gracefully, and while not as charismatic as Diamond, she definitely possesses all of the tools to be a major player. They went back and forth throughout the match with neither woman ever really able to gain a full upper hand. Diamond hit perhaps the prettiest dropkick that anyone in attendance had ever seen -- and she did it from a standing position. Luck countered a Belly to Belly Suplex attempt and pushed the former University of Tennessee standout athlete away from her and launched towards her, connecting with a devastating Lucky Strike to get the victory.

Nate "The Great" DeMarcus versus "Pretty Boy" Ozzie Goldstein

Last month, DeMarcus defeated LaGrenier and now he was on to the next member of the Canadian Blonds. Goldstein is probably the perfect heel for an old-school pro wrestling territory. He just gets it. He understands where to be. He understands how to get heat. He can sell. He’s incredibly consistent and against the young DeMarcus, Goldstein was at his best. He sold all the big power moves of DeMarcus -- making the young Rhode Islander look like the strongest man in the company by the way Ozzie flew. When he cut Nate off with a thumb to the eye, Ozzie went right to work on one of the tree-trunk thighs of DeMarcus. It made perfect sense -- take away the power and explosiveness of the younger, bigger man. He chopped the big man down. He draped Nate’s leg over the bottom rope and lept on it multiple times. To his credit - Nate sold the leg through the whole match. When Goldstein chop-blocked DeMarcus, Nate sold it like his knee was just torn out of socket. Nate’s comeback was made on one leg. He really had the sympathy of the fans and when he hit a Stalling Suplex -- with his left leg not fully on the mat, the crowd exploded. Nate followed that up with a Snap Tackle that turned Goldstein inside out and got Nate the victory.

The Dog Soldiers and ??? versus Genesis w/ Andrew Gibson

Genesis came out to the ring first. Andrew Gibson marched them to the ring like a man determined to have his soldiers get the win. All four men looked incredibly motivated. James Diaz and Dreadnought, in particular, looked like they were incredibly motivated for the match tonight. They all stood in the ring as The Dog Soldiers came out. All of them were dressed in traditional attire from their respective Nations (Cheyenne and Lakota). They looked ready for war themselves -- all of them had different war paint on. Roger Monteiro was wearing full Cheyenne Dog Soldier face paint -- the top half of his face was painted black and the bottom half (middle of the nose down) was painted stark white. Ace Youngblood’s chin and jaw were painted blue, the rest of his face was painted red. Wild Red Stallion’s face from the nose up was painted red, but the bottom portion of his face was left unpainted. Collectively, they looked incredibly motivated and impressive.

When they got to the ring, Andrew Gibson demanded knowing where their fourth member was. This was an eight-man tag after all and they only had three men at the ring. Ace Youngblood smiled and pointed both arms at the entry-way. The 42” television screen that doubles for a CWI video screen just says the word ‘Strong’ and the people came up out of their seats.

PJ Strong is here in CWI! The video screen shows highlights of his five-year professional football career and his four-year stand out collegiate football career. Rumors have been swirling that PJ Strong would be here -- many people on the CWIWrestling.com website thought he’d be the mystery partner and they were right. The younger child of legendary Sam Strong was here and the people were incredibly excited to see him. Andrew Gibson’s eyes went wide and he threw a fit at ringside as Strong came to the ring. Every member of Genesis, except Dreadnought exited the ring. Dreadnought stood his ground and stared down PJ Strong. Their fathers are not strangers to one another. In fact, it was Dread who ended Sam Strong’s first SWF World Title reign. There is bad blood here.

Neither Strong or Dreadnought started the match -- though. Wild Red Stallion started the match against Original Sinner. The two big hosses locked horns and were beating the hell out of each other. Very stiff strikes back and forth. Original Sinner doesn’t mind pain and Wild Red Stallion has always seemed like he would be a big star in the Fat East. Original Sinner hit a nasty headbutt on Wild Red Stallion before tagging in Chip Martin who hit a flying Double Axe Handle and then a Superkick and Chip Martin surprised everyone by eliminating Wild Red Stallion. Ace Youngblood came in and immediately hit his Flying Tomahawak Chop and Chip Martin was eliminated before Genesis could take advantage of having the numbers advantage.

It was six on six for quite awhile -- but PJ Strong never got tagged in. Youngblood and Monteiro kept tagging each other in -- they were clearly trying to save the rookie. It was his first professional match, after all. Dreadnought got the tag and he hit Roger Monteiro with a Dread Bomb and Monteiro was eliminated. Dreadnought tagged Original Sinner in who was up against Ace Youngblood. Youngblood was cut off from PJ Strong, but he managed to roll up Original Sinner and get him eliminated. Youngblood looked like he was about to tag in PJ after eliminating Original Sinner, but the massive James Diaz hit the ring and yanked Youngblood across the ring to keep him from making the tag. Diaz hit the Asian Thumb Spike right into Youngblood’s neck and suddenly it was PJ Strong against the two men known as Bred for Battle.

PJ came into chants of his name. While he’s greener than grass, he looks like a star. He looks like a guy who should be main eventing Supreme Challenge. Diaz was not the least bit intimidated by PJ and he immediately launched an attack on him. He pummeled him with several big strikes. Hard, welcome-to-the-business, strikes. Diaz backed Strong into a neutral corner and he peppered him with body strikes and then a wicked spinning elbow shot. It looked bad for Strong -- but then he exploded out of the corner for a big clothesline that dropped James Diaz. Diaz was quick to get back to his feet and he caught another clothesline. He got back to his feet and came running at PJ again and this time he caught a big boot. PJ hit the ropes and came running at the downed James Diaz. He lept up into the air and came crashing down for a Leg Drop and he had eliminated James Diaz!

It was down to PJ and Dreadnought. Big Dreadnought came into the ring and they stared at each other. Both men are absolute physical specimens. Big and strong and muscular. Dreadnought has yet to be knocked off his feet. Something Andrew Gibson is making very clear on the outside. The two men went at it and it was electric. There is clearly something there between these two men. Sparks. Electricity. Two big bulls in a rut here. Dreadnought got the early advantage and he slammed PJ Strong hard. He hit a big splash and then dragged Strong to the corner where he hit a Dread Splash on Strong -- but Strong kicked out just before the three and Dreadnought was blown away. Strong started powering up -- just like his famous father used to. Dreadnought’s eyes went wide as PJ got to his feet shaking and filled with anger. He pointed at Dreadnought and then a big right hand. A second. A third. A clothesline that wobbled Dreadnought but didn’t take him off his feet. A second clothesline stumbles Dreadnought but he still doesn’t leave his feet. PJ reached down and he lifted Dreadnought up for a massive powerslam that blew the roof off of the Fountain Square Theatre! PJ hit a Leg Drop and for the first time ever, Dreadnought was not only knocked off his feet but pinned!

In a decent match, Ace Youngblood, Roger Monteiro, Wild Red Stallion and PJ Strong defeated Genesis (Dreadnought, James Diaz, Chip Martin and Original Sinner) in an Elimination match in 18:12; Wild Red Stallion was eliminated first, then Chip Martin, then Roger Monteiro, then Original Sinner, then Ace Youngblood, then James Diaz, and finally Dreadnought.

"The East Side Assassin" Sayeed Ali versus "The Indiana Strangler" Conner Threepwood ©

Two months ago, Sayeed Ali gave Conner Threepwood the beating of a lifetime. It was brutal and this was the sequel. It did not disappoint. While there were no weapons used and a ten count on the floor, but Ali and Threepwood were on top of their games here. Ali was the crazy brawler and Threepwood the technician trying to keep the match on the mat. They brawled around the ring and Ali even hit a big suplex onto the unprotected floor. Threepwood fought back though. He wasn’t as outmatched in this match as he was the first time. He had a better game plan and he kept getting Ali off his feet -- but Ali showed some impressive technical skills of his own. He hit a running knee lift on Conner Threepwood that got him a near fall. Threepwood hit a German Suplex with a bridge that got him a near fall. The fans were into everything these two did. This was Ali showing that he belonged in the COTT. He hit a second rope elbow drop that got him another close call. As he was sitting there, arguing with Jez McArthur that it should have been a three, Threepwood transitioned from being on his back to having a Stretch Plum locked in. Ali tried to fight out of it. He tried his best but he had to submit and Conner Threepwood shocked the fans in attendance by retaining the Mid American Championship.

In an exceptional match, Conner Threepwood defeated Sayeed Ali in 19:42 by submission with a Stretch Plum. Conner Threepwood makes defence number six of the COTT Mid American.

Conner Threepwood takes the Mid American Championship from Jez McArthur and he stares at it for a long moment. This was perhaps the most vulnerable he has been. He climbed onto the second rope and raised it high above his head to a lot of cheers and then CRACK!

Sayeed Ali had driven a steel chair directly into the spine of Conner Threepwood. Conner falls from the second rope to the mat and CRACK. Another shot. CRACK. A third shot. Ali’s eyes were crazy. He had been embarrassed. He had been forced to submit and he was taking out his frustrations on Conner Threepwood.

The crowd began to cheer as:

Acid, Conner Threepwood’s trainer, hit the ring with a chair of his own. Ali backed off as Acid yelled at him. Standing guard over his protege and friend. Acid was begging Ali to do something. To make a move. Anything. But Ali was smarter than that. He just stayed back and then… CRACK! ACID HIT CONNER! The crowd began to boo as Ali laughed. This was the plan the whole time. Ali set his chair down and Acid set his chair next to him. Ali hit Conner Threepwood with the G.B.H. Driver right on the chairs. Conner laid there motionless an Ali rolled Conner onto his back -- on the chairs. Acid climbed to the top rope and looked down at his former student. He yelled something at him and lept from the top rope and let his body turn in midair and crashed with his back into Conner’s chest for the Acid Rain Bomb.

Before they could do anything else, the locker room emptied out and Acid and Sayeed Ali headed for the hills.

We had some really good predictions this month! Though in looking at the schedule I have for the diary, I'm going to postpone prediction prizes for a little bit as I want to wait until I hit an area where we will have some juicier prizes! A lot of people correctly guessed PJ Strong as the mystery partner and hopefully, his debut was still impactful even if many of you saw it coming!

We are really close to The Hangman Open Challenge being done -- I wanted to do it over the first year or so to see how he'd develop as a talent. He was really green and I wanted a chance to see what kind of destiny roll he might have so I could better plan for his spot in the company (the same can be said for all of the young talents really. There are so many unknown variables with them that you have to give them a chance to work for a bit and see what happens. I've never been afraid of low match ratings and I've never been afraid of letting talent develop and hopefully we are getting there!

As always, I appreciate all of your support and participation in the diary!

The open challenge must be really detrimental to Hangman's experience compared to other young talent, I've noticed in my game that it's really heavily weighted to match length and let's face it he isn't exactly working a prime Ric Flair schedule

It has definitely not helped his experience. Longer matches would definitely benefit him, but I also don't want him out there working ten or fifteen-minute matches when I want him to be a dominant monster who doesn't sell. He'll get there though. It's a marathon after all!

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis was live in Edinburgh as part of a fundraising effort by the Edinburgh chapter of the American Legion to raise money for a Christmas food drive.

In the main event, Indiana Heavyweight Champion Zippy Deverell successfully retained the championship by defeating Art Reed in a sensational match. Art Reed specifically came in for the fundraiser and is not joining the fulltime CWI roster.

Pepper Pelton defeated "Southern Justice" Jack Griffith with the Spice Rack in a very underwhelming match. CWI was said to be interested in Jack as a potential veteran member of the roster but his failure to get the job done against Pelton will surely put CWI management off of that train.

Hardcore Inheritance got a win over the Heartbreak Express.

In the opening contest, Charlie Corner beat Jason Patterson in a very competitive match up that was the best singles match both men have had in their careers.

CWI will return to action with the Christmas Clash at the Fountain Square Theatre later this month -- so keep your eyes peeled to CWIWrestling.com for more on that show!
