CWIWrestling.com was able to secure the following video from after Christmas Clash.

Nate DeMarcus and American Gold are backstage. The camera is pointed right at them.

DeMarcus, "Last month, Maliek and Marcus had my back. When it looked like the Canadian Blonds were going to take me out of the sport, American Gold had my back. I didn't ask them to. They just did. They showed up because they wanted to do what was right. I appreciate that."

Chamberlain, "And so we're here to say that we're going to stick together and have each other's backs."

English, "Because there is strength in numbers and we know that if we each want to make it to the top we have to have someone making sure people like the Canadian Blonds don't try to take us out."

DeMarcus, "So allow us to introduce ourselves. We are American Ambition and Canadian Blonds, we're coming for you. This thing ain't over by a long shot. Not by a long shot. In two weeks, at New Year Scramble, American Gold gets a shot at the CWI Tag Team Championship. It's going to start there. We hope you're ready."

The scene ends with a graphic:

CWIWrestling.com was sent the following video by the Canadian Blonds after they found out they will be defending the Tag Team Championship against American Gold at New Year Scramble.

The three members of the Canadian Blonds are at an undisclosed location They look furious.

Goldstein, "This is a travesty. It has got to be a mistake. American Gold have wrestled two matches here in CWI. They don't deserve tag team title shots. This is clearly a conspiracy against us by you Americans."

LaGrenier, "Clearly. That's why, despite Flash and Ozzie having held these titles since June, they have not been given a World Tag Team Title shot. The Brit Steph Blake got a World Women's Title shot -- and she's not nearly as good as Ozzie and Flash or myself. Where have my title shots been?"

Savage, "It is a blasted tragedy. A deep tragedy. But even though we are being targeted by CWI management, we will be fine. At New Year Scramble, we will beat American Gold and prove that Canadian Blond will always be better than anything American, even its gold."

CWIWrestling.com acquired the following footage. We wanted to make sure to share it here with you all.

uoEa8xj.png

qYmW8S4.jpgiqzc6iZ.jpg4Bu7oUK.jpg

Andrew Gibson stands flanked by Dreadnought and James Diaz.

Gibson, "In November, my soldiers tasted defeat. We were beaten by The Dog Soldiers and that turncoat PJ Strong. PJ Strong, the man with the silver spoon. We will get to him. First, I have to address the elephant in the room. You'll notice that Original Sinner and Chip Martin aren't here with me. That is because they are no longer fit the needs of Genesis. They were no longer serving our purpose and they were the weak links so they have been cut loose. "

Gibson took a pause.

Gibson, "But Dreadnought and James Diaz remain. And they are not like you PJ. Sure, you are all second-generation wrestlers, but they didn't grow up in a seven-thousand square foot mansion on a beach. Thy didn't grow up with nannies and butlers and cooks. They weren't raised by surrogates. They were raised by warriors. Men who bled and sweat and fought and paid the price. They were raised different. They were bred for one thing. Battle. Next month, PJ Strong, when you're not too busy going to hospital openings with your father to suck up to the public -- you will be in the ring one on one with James Diaz. The monster of a man. No one else to carry the load for you. No surprises. Two weeks to prepare. Two weeks to train. We'll see what kind of man you really are when you can't hide."

Gibson takes another pause.

Gibson, "We are coming for you PJ Strong. You have come to pro wrestling to be reborn. We will baptize you in fire and blood and we will be your Genesis."

It had been a long few months. I felt like I barely had time to think. We had increased to two shows a month -- which didn’t sound like a lot on paper, but we didn’t have a professional crew. We weren’t running a full team to handle merchandising and production and editing and advertising and booking. All of that was me. I was helped by Andrew Gibson and Mark Hyatt -- particularly in the promotion of our spot shows, but the thing was on me to do correctly. So I had been busy. I also had been busy looking for a home. The lease on my apartment was up in mid-December and I didn’t want to resign. So I had spent several months looking for the right place to live and I had found it. I purchased a building in Fountain Square that was For Sale. It had retail space on the bottom floor and then the top floor was a home. I’d live on the top floor, but I’d turn the bottom floor into CWI offices. It was walking distance from the Fountain Square Theatre -- where we were running all of our shows anyway, so it was prime real estate. I could make the retail space a full-blown office and production center. I built our a storeroom for merchandise. I set up a standing set for promos -- a little locker room set that we could use to film things. It was a place I could store all of the paperwork to make my life a little easier. I could keep all of my booking ledgers there. I could store the ring truck in the loading dock in the back -- and keep the ring on the floor that was used for the backroom. It was a good long term investment. A sound business strategy, I thought.</p><p> </p><p>

But it had been exhausting. I sat in my leather swivel chair in my office -- one of two offices that I had built in the place. I had sunk a fair amount of my inheritance into making this place something. I wasn’t a man who believed in a forever home or anything cliche like that -- but I had plans on CWI lasting for a long, long time and this would be as good a place as any to set up shop. I didn’t have a yard to maintain. My neighbors were all gone in the evening. There were bars and restaurants within walking distance. There was even a real hipster butcher shop -- which I didn’t know was a thing before -- in the neighborhood. I had one office and the other office was shared by Mark and Andrew. They were staff on weekly salaries. Mark was my number two in advertising and marketing. He had a background in radio sales and was smart and could talk. Andrew, with his military background, was incredibly organized and was the lead on spot-show booking. He was also the one in charge of scouting new talent. He watched everything. Everything. He wrote reports on all of the independent shows. On all of the major shows. There wasn’t a full-time wrestling organization that he didn’t watch. If an indy organization put their show online, he watched it. He reminded me of myself when I was young, except he had a family that he didn’t like to talk about. He was serious and that was needed in this business. Too many guys wanted to be funny. Too many kids thought wrestling should be filled with a lot of gaga or a lot of haha. Andrew understood that I didn’t think that way. So did Mark. They were good lieutenants.</p><p> </p><p>

I looked at the clock on the wall of my office. 11:59 PM on New Year’s Eve. I was obsessed with time. I hated to be late to anything. It almost caused me physical pain so not only did I always wear a watch -- and not one of those smartwatches that could die if you didn’t charge them, a proper watch with a battery and an analogue face. Most everybody was out celebrating New Year’s. I was not. Instead, I was here. My computer open and on and a glass of Kentucky’s finest in my hand. Waiting. Perhaps this was my problem. Patty had said I was a workaholic and she didn’t mean it as a compliment. Maybe that was why she left. Or at least part of the reason. I don’t think I ever dialed it in. 12:00 AM. I hit refresh.</p><p> </p><p>

Nothing. Of course they wouldn’t be up yet. It was New Year’s Eve and turning into Day and it was 2021 now. I’d lived into another year. I looked at my cellphone. I could call her. I could just pick up the phone and dial her number and say that it was Marv and I just wanted to wish her a Happy New Year and maybe she’d be excited to hear from me. Maybe she’d want to hear how I was doing and I could tell her about the great things I was doing and maybe she’d realize I had done it. I had finally done it. She’d be proud of me. It had been two years since we’d last talked. Two years since I asked why she had left the year before that. She had told me then like she had told me when she left. I was too sad. I didn’t think I was sad, I just thought I was serious but she didn’t. I was sad and sometimes angry and sometimes cold and she didn’t know if I’d ever be happy. Deep down, I knew she was probably right.</p><p> </p><p>

I took a drink of Kentucky’s greatest gift to the world and refreshed again. Nothing. It was hard to tell people that I was a man passed his fortieth birthday who was still obsessed with a business where grown men and women pretended to fight each other. It was hard to look at them and say I was obsessed with it because it had always been my safe place. It was a place where all were welcome. Men and women. Black or white. Gay or straight. It didn’t matter. It was theater of the most personal. A morality play of good and evil acted out in match after match, show after show, year after year between small numbers of actors. It was a place where outlaws and misfits could come and be loved and hated. Cheered and booed. It was a place I could always escape to. When my home life as a child had been not so great. When adult life started out poorly. When Patty left. This silly little thing called pro wrestling had been there for me. How could you tell people that? They wouldn’t understand.</p><p> </p><p>

I took a drink. 12:05. I hit refresh. Nothing. I just wanted the yearly awards from Greg. Didn’t he know I was waiting for them? Didn’t he know I <em>needed</em> them? I took another drink and found the bottom of the glass a lonely place so I reached to refill. I looked at my phone again. She was probably up. She had loved New Year’s. Loved the symbol of stepping into something new with just the changing of the clock. She had always gotten dressed up and dragged me to someplace I didn’t want to be but I’d pretend to enjoy it -- though I think I was really pretending not to enjoy it. </p><p> </p><p>

12:07. I hit refresh again and there was still nothing. I knew there wouldn’t be -- but if I went upstairs to where I lived I’d have to confront the emptiness of the bed and the silence. It smelled sterile. I was afraid that it just looked like a man trying to appear to have it all lived there. I drank the entire refilled glass and contemplated refilling it a third time. I wasn’t driving. I had nowhere to be and no one to justify it to. I poured another glass.</p><p> </p><p>

12:10. I hit refresh and again there was nothing and again I took a bigger drink than I should have and I stood up and grabbed the bottle and headed up to the home above the store. It was dark and empty and I thought about calling Patty again but remembered I’d left my phone downstairs so instead I finished my glass and set it in the sink and carried the rest of the bottle to bed. 2020 had been a good year for me professionally. 2021 needed to be better.</p><p> </p><p>

I had every reason in the world to be happy. I was living my dream. I was living the thing I’d always wanted -- but maybe Patty was right and I took a long drink from the bottle and fell asleep fully dressed, cradling a bottle of Bourbon like a lover returned from War.</p>

<span style="font-family:'Courier New';">2020 has ended and we are off to a new year. I hope everyone celebrated the new year safely and responsibly and was able to ring it in with loved ones. This is the heaviest trafficked day of the year for the Pro Wrestling Reporter because everyone wants to know our End of Year Awards. Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis returns to action for our first show of 2021 this Saturday at the Fountain Square Theatre. It was one year ago this week that the Fountain Square Theatre hosted the first show for Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis and now it will be home to the one-year birthday celebration!

This show will be an exciting night of action. The main event will see The Indiana Strangler Conner Threepwood step into the ring to defend his COTT Mid American Championship against two men. Sayeed Ali and Acid. In a scramble match. For this match, there is a special championship time limit of thirty minutes -- but the match has to last the full half-hour. At the end of that half-hour time limit, the person with the most falls will be the COTT Mid American Champion. Will Conner Threepwood survive his greatest test in the year that he has been the top guy in CWI? Or will he finally be unseated? We will find out!

The COTT World Women's Tag Team Championship will be on the line as Lilly and Rose will defend them against Reece and Wells in a match that has been months in the making. Sabrina Wells and Ruby Reece defeated the Femme Fatales in October inside of a Steel Cage match to earn a championship opportunity -- and Lilly and Rose have finally had an opening in their schedule and will be back in Indianapolis to defend the belts.

PJ Strong will go one on one with James Diaz in Strong's first singles match in his entire career. Strong shocked the world when he made his debut in November as the mystery partner for the Dog Soldiers and earned the ire of Andrew Gibson and his band of bruisers.

Steph Blake will put the Women's Championship on the line, American Gold and the Canadian Blonds will clash for the Tag Team Championship and so much more! Get your tickets today. You do not want to miss this show.

Before we get to the card, we must also announce that The Hangman has been suspended from the Confederation of the Territories for thirty days for his actions against Chris Caulfield at Christmas Clash.

First I love reading the behind the scenes feelings of Marv. How on earth could CWI not won the Most Improved Company, I call blasphemy.

Great idea for a match, a three-way Iron Man. I've never seen it before. This is a difficult decision it's anyone's match. I can't see Acid winning after his loss to Pepper months ago, I could see Ali pulling a fast one and stealing the belt. But I'm gonna go with old reliable Threepwood.

After losing to Patterson last month I can't see Sharpe winning, curious why Patterson doesn't get this match instead.

The build to this has felt very lackluster so I think it'll be a disappointing end to the reign if Threepwood loses to title to either of these two men who he's already beaten, especially Acid, but I assume he's just there to take the fall

Saturday Week 1, January 2020

Live from the Fountain Square Theatre [indianapolis, Indiana, Great Lakes, USA]

75 people in attendance (an increase of 4 fans from last show)

Commentators: Marv Earnest & Mark Hyatt

qSIrNZu.jpg?1aO4dY56.jpg

Earnest, “Hello everyone and welcome to a very special night of Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis. I’m Marv Earnest and I’m joined tonight by Mark Hyatt. Mark, tonight we celebrate one year as a company. It was a year ago today that we debuted on the wrestling landscape with the first New Year Scramble. That was an excellent show that saw Conner Threepwood win the then CWI Heavyweight Championship -- a championship that became the COTT Mid American Championship. For one year, Conner Threepwood has had a death grip on that belt. He’s made every challenger to his title submit to the Stretch Plum -- but tonight he has something else in front of him all together. Tonight he has to beat not one, but two men. What makes matters more interesting -- Conner Threepwood demanded this match. He went to CWI management and demanded this match tonight. That is a gutsy move from our champion.”

Hyatt, “More like an idiotic move from our champion. How do you demand a match against two men? Two men who hate your guts and want your championship. Sayeed Ali is the only man to beat Conner Threepwood in a match -- Acid and Threepwood beat The Fighting Irish last month to end 2020. This is a bad, bad decision by Conner Threepwood. It’s an arrogant decision and mark my words -- it is going to cost him the COTT Mid American Championship.”

Earnest, “We will find that out tonight, but we have so much before that. PJ Strong will compete in his first singles match here in Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis as he locks horns with James Diaz. American Gold challenges the Canadian Blonds for the CWI Tag Team Championship. Steph Blake defends the CWI Women’s Championship against the newest member of the CWI roster -- Coco Malloy and so much more. Let’s get right to the action.”

PJ Strong versus James Diaz w/ Andrew Gibson

The opening contest of the 2021 New Year Scramble event pit PJ Strong in his debut singles contest against James Diaz. This was asked for by Andrew Gibson -- Diaz’ manager. The match started off with a big collar and elbow tie up with both men jockeying for position but eventually Strong shoved Diaz back and down. Diaz’ eyes went wide and he looked up at Strong who flexed as if to say he’s in a whole different league than Diaz. This made Diaz frustrated and the early portion of the match was Strong using his power to overwhelm Diaz until Diaz used a closed fist -- right in front of the referee to stagger Strong. The referee warned Diax that another closed fist would get him disqualified, so Diaz went to the body of Strong. He peppered the newcomer with shot after shot to the body and then hit a big vertical suplex that Strong immediately sat up from. He looked at Diaz and shook his head and went to work. The crowd was really behind PJ Strong during his comeback. He looks and carries himself like a star. He threw several big right hands -- all open handed -- to the dome of Diaz and Diaz took a bump off each one. Strong sent Diaz off into the ropes and bent over for a back drop, but Diaz kicked him hard in the chest to straighten him out and then hit a big T-Bone Suplex -- but Strong got right up from that. When Diaz turned around -- he was staring right into the eyes of PJ Strong. Diaz backed up in disbelief and Strong went back to work. He shot Diaz off into the ropes and hit a big boot. Diaz hit the mat and then staggered to his feet and ate a body slam. Strong pointed to the ropes. The crowd got to their feet -- but suddenly Andrew Gibson was on the ring apron and distracted the referee and PJ. While PJ was distracted…

EbIuk35.jpg

Slid into the ring. The crowd didn’t know who it was at first -- but damn it if wasn’t a tall, handsome bastard. And he was holding a steel chair. He blasted PJ Strong in the back with the chair and brought him down to a knee. The handsome man pulled off a jacket to reveal a shirt that said “I am Alex DeColt’s Revenge” and the people realized this must be Alex’s son Danny! He hit Strong with the chair a second time before rolling out of the ring. The referee turned around just in time to see James Diaz hit PJ Strong with the Asian Thumb Spike and cover him to get the victory.

In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, James Diaz defeated PJ Strong in 7:39 by pinfall with an Asian Thumb Spike following interference from Danny DeColt.

PJ Strong struggled to get back to his feet where James Diaz and Danny DeColt were waiting. They immediately put the boots to him as Dreadnought hit the ring. They set the chair that Danny had used down on the mat. Diaz hit his Thunderous Powerbomb onto the chair and then turned to help Danny keep security away while Dreadnought dragged PJ Strong across the ring to the corner and climbed onto the second rope. He bounced a few times before launching himself off and down for a big Dread Splash. Dreadnought rolled off of him as Danny DeColt walked over. He lifted PJ Strong up off the mat and stood behind him. He crossed both of PJ’s arms across his chest before sitting straight down and bringing PJ crashing into the chair once more with a devastating DeColt Driver. It was at this point that Gibson ordered his men to the back and medical personnel were able to get into the ring to tend to PJ Strong.

American Gold versus The Canadian Blonds ©

The CWI Tag Team Title match was up next. American Gold made the high energy entrance and the crowd was very excited to see the young duo. Chamberlain, in particular, has been very popular with the audience. The young man is from Detroit and his explosive athleticism has made him a much-see young talent. The Blonds just reek of arrogance and the crowd loves to hate them. They play on the age-old Canadian vs. American gimmick and Ozzie Goldstein, in particular, had the willingness to metaphorically (and probably literally) show his ass as a heel. This was a great combination for a match and a really good follow up to the opening match. English took the brunt of the beating from the Blonds -- who continued their run of excellent teamwork. They just use positioning in the ring so wonderfully. They isolated English and made quick tags back and forth. They kept the referee out of position multiple times so that the other member of the Blonds could do something dirty -- like choke him in the corner or on the bottom rope. They riled up Chamberlain so he came into the ring illegally so that the referee would be distracted and the Blonds could hit some click double team moves -- including a Double Brainbuster that almost put English away. English ducked a clothesline attempt and made the big tag to Chamberlain. Chamberlain came in like a house of fire. He hit two big overhead belly to belly suplexes. He hit a flying crossbody onto both members of the Canadian Blonds and suplexed both of them again. He made the tag back to English who hit Ozzie with a big Tornado DDT and made the cover. When the referee’s hand hit the mat for the third time and CWI had new tag team champions!

In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, American Gold defeated The Canadian Blonds in 16:32 when Marcus English pinned Ozzie Goldstein with a Tornado DDT. American Gold win the CWI Tag Team Championship.

"American Eagle" Roger Monteiro versus "Lone Star" Samson Sharpe

The next match was an odd matchup. While Monteiro has been on a roll lately, Sharpe is coming off of a loss last month, but his pedigree as a former RIPW Champion earned him an opportunity to at least compete for an opportunity at a championship -- and an opportunity to redeem himself. He came out of the gate incredibly physical. He tossed the smaller Monteiro around -- including a wicked toss where he threw Monteiro into the corner and Monteiro actually went up and over and to the floor. Samson followed Monteiro to the floor and tossed him into the guardrail and then lifted him high into the air and dropped him chest first onto the ring apron. The match went back into the ring and Samson hit a Fall Away Slam that got him a near fall. Monteiro stumbled back to his feet and Sharpe went for a big Lariat that Monteiro ducked under. When Sharpe turned around, Monteiro blistered his chest with knife-edged chops. Monteiro was firing up. He hit several more chops before he sent Sharpe off into the ropes and came across the ring with a flying axehandle that set up the Eagle Chop and Roger Monteiro earned a shot at the Indiana Heavyweight Championship.

In a decent match, Roger Monteiro defeated Samson Sharpe in 9:48 by pinfall with an Eagle Chop.

Coco Malloy versus "The Mistress of the DDT" Steph Blake ©

Malloy was announced as the newest signing for CWI. Her tag team partner, Izzy Quick, debuted last month and now the other half of the San Diego Girls was here and ready for action against the queen of the mountain in CWI -- Steph Blake. Malloy came out the gate full of energy that Blake wasn’t expecting and the champion was sent reeling early on in the match. Malloy hit several big forearms and the fans were really impressed with the young woman from Southern California. Steph Blake turned around and got a big dropkick from Malloy. Malloy looks like a star in the making. Malloy lept off the second rope for a big elbow drop that got her a near fall early on in the match. Blake took a powder out of the ring to buy herself some time to catch her breath and recuperate. Malloy came out of the ring after the champion and Blake met her with a knee to the gut and then sent her head into the ring post. Back in the ring, Blake took over. She hit a wicked leaping knee drop into Malloy’s head. Blake ended up hitting the Slingshot DDT and her reign at the top continues.

In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, Steph Blake defeated Coco Malloy in 14:08 by pinfall with a Slingshot DDT. Steph Blake makes defence number five of the CWI Women's.

Reece & Wells versus Lilly & Rose ©

This match was several months in the making. Reece and Wells earned this opportunity by besting the Femme Fatales in a vicious steel cage match. Now here they were, wrestling for the Women’s World Tag Team Championship. This was a classic tag team match. Lilly & Rose are a great tag team and Reece & Wells are getting into that top tier category themselves. Lilly and Rose have been very active as champions, defending in Canada, the US, and Mexico. The action was fast-paced and all over the ring. The fans were really into this clash. There was some good brawling and some aerial hijinks. Reece and Wells came close several times to winning the World Titles, but ultimately Debbie Rose hit Sabrina Wells with a Thorn Cutter and Lilly & Rose made their seventh successful defence.

In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Lilly & Rose defeated Reece & Wells in 15:27 when Debbie Rose pinned Sabrina Wells with a Thorn Cutter. Lilly & Rose make defence number seven of the COTT World Women's Tag Team titles.

Acid versus "The East Side Assassin" Sayeed Ali versus "The Indiana Strangler" Conner Threepwood ©

The main event of the evening was requested by Conner Threepwood. Two men who have been an absolute thorn in his side. Two men who he wants to get even with. One thirty-minute time limit match. Whoever has the most falls at the end of the thirty minutes will be Mid American Champion. The odds were stacked against Conner Threepwood but it was how he wanted it. Right at the jump, Threepwood surprised everyone by dumping Ali out of the ring. He turned around and ducked under an attempted enzugari by Acid. He followed the duck up with a big rollup pinfall to get off to an early lead. From there, Acid and Ali worked together on Threepwood. It was more like a handicapped match than anything else. The veteran Acid hit a Reverse Huricanranna on Threepwood that was incredibly nasty looking. Acid got the fall -- without objection from Sayeed Ali -- and then it was Ali’s turn. He hit a piledriver that got him his own fall so it was tied up. Threepwood was out of it when Acid and Ali looked at each other. They shrugged and went at one another. It was hard hitting. Acid built his name in DAVE and in Japan so he was able to hang with the hard strikes of Sayeed Ali. Back and forth they went exchanging strikes until Sayeed Ali got the upper hand. He dropped Acid right on his stack of dimes and got a second fall. By this point, Threepwood was back in and he and Acid went at it. It was time for Threepwood to gain control of the match. He hit a series of German Suplexes on Ali and then a couple on Acid. He hit a Northern Lights Suplex on Acid and kept the bridge for a pin. Now both he and Ali had two falls and Acid had one. The match continued. It was hard hitting and the crowd was thrilled and each guy shined and the clock was winding down with Ali and Threepwood still tied. Acid hit a big Tornado DDT on Threepwood and then looked up at Ali. Acid nodded and rolled out of the ring so it was just Ali and Threepwood. Ali hit the G.B.H. Driver on Threepwood and got another pinfall to take the lead just before the time expired.

In an exceptional match, Sayeed Ali defeated Acid and Conner Threepwood in a 1 vs 1 vs 1 - Scramble match in 30:00 after scoring the most falls. Sayeed Ali wins the COTT Mid American title.

Acid was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.
