Out of interest, where did Bach go in yours? He had offers from loads of companies in my save and ended up in SWF. Really interesting stat about him in my save: He won his first nine matches in TCW... Then lost eight in a row before leaving, and has lost TWELVE in a row in SWF!! Incredible stuff from someone with his pop and skillset!!

Sammy went to USPW where he has been booked incredibly strong. He wins about 86% of his matches there -- but he hasn't won a title yet and he's been there since April of 2020.

Championship Wrestling was in action in Terre Haute, Indiana for a fundraiser for Indiana State University's football team. We were there as a part of a summer booster meal for incoming athletes to celebrate their decision to play for the Sycamores. It was a very well-received show that even saw a title change and a debut of a new manager!

The show started with Wild Red Stallion getting a big singles win over Egon Merowitz.

That was followed by Urena Frost beating Olivia Diamond in what was the match of the night. Diamond was in just for the evening as a tryout. She was said to impress the CWI matchmaking team, but there is not a plan to bring her in fulltime as of this writing.

The Taggs defeated Minnesota Awesome in a very competitive tag match that continues to show the Taggs are developing into an excellent young tandum. They were assisted by the arrival of Haley Buck -- who was announced as the cousin of Zippy Deverell. Ms. Buck triped up Perry Longstaff to create the opening for Wolfie to hit the Piledriver.

Black Diamond beat Allie Perks, another young lady coming in for a tryout. Perks was said to receive a multi-match tryout deal, so we will see if that deal is extended into a fulltime deal or not.

The main event saw "Lone Star" Samson Sharpe defeat "American Eagle" Roger Monteiro to win the Indiana Heavyweight Championship. Sharpe hit Monteiro with a big lariat after The Taggs came ringside to distract Monteiro. The title change really caught the fans attention -- they weren't expecting to see one on this show.

Commentators: Marv Earnest & Mark Hyatt

Earnest, “Hello everyone and welcome back to the Fountain Square Theatre and another exciting night of Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis action. School’s Out and CWI is here to bring you the very best in professional wrestling action. I’m joined tonight by Mark Hyatt. Mark, what did you do on your summer vacations?”

Hyatt, “I spent my summers at Yacht Camp, thank you very much.”

Earnest, “Well that’s an interesting camp. I didn’t even know those were a thing. I do know that tonight Conner Threepwood looks to defend his newly won Mid America Championship against Elmo Benson in what should be an excellent contest. He’s not the only one attempting to make the first defence of a title reign, Felicia Luck will be looking to defend the Women’s Championship that she won last month as she takes on Raven Nightfall. All that and so much more tonight!”

PJ Strong and Mr. Grappling walked to the ring where Steffi Chee was waiting for them. She held a microphone in her hands as two of the more popular wrestlers on the CWI Roster climbed into the ring.

Chee, “PJ and Mr. Grappling…”

Mr. Grappling “You can just call me Grappling, Steffi. No need to be formal.”

Chee, “Okay then. PJ and Grappling, last month you were successful in defeating the DeColts Reborn. What is next for your team?”

Strong, “Well you know something Steffi Chee? Me and Mr. Grappling here were talking and there’s only one thing we want after beating those DeColts and sending them running for the hills. We want the CWI Tag Team Titles, dude. We want Bred for Battle and we want them next month here at the Fountain Square Theatre.”

Chee, “Well that’s an awfully big challenge.”

Strong, “Well look at us, dude. We’re two awfully big men. You’ve got Indiana’s Finest, one of the best wrestlers on the planet and you’ve got PJ Strong and these twenty-six inch pythons and we are going to run wild all over Bred for Battle and be your new Tag Team Champions.”

Grappling, “What he said.”

Chee, “Well there you have it then. A challenge for a match here next month.”

The San Diego Girls versus Sonnaz Shah and Stacy Troth

The opening match of School’s Out had The San Diego Girls up against the makeshift team of former QAW grappler Sonnaz Shah and rookie Stacy Troth. Both Shah and Troth were here looking for fulltime employment and a win over the popular San Diego Girls, or even a good outing, could go along way in earning that employment. Shah is an excellent technician and she controlled a good portion of the opening of the match with a variety of holds. She was out wrestling both Malloy and Quick at the beginning, but a slip up from Shah allowed the San Diego Girls to settle into their comfort zone. They picked up the pace of the match up and Shah was forced to tag in the rookie highflyer, Troth. Troth’s greenness was on full display and she looked completely overwhelmed by The San Diego Girls, whose slick teamwork and knowledge of one another had them in the driver’s seat. They hit their version of the Poetry-in-Motion, a Dropkick/Leg Sweep combo, and an Assisted Crossbody that was very slick. Malloy hit a Flying Bulldog on Stacy Troth to get the win.

In a decent match, The San Diego Girls defeated Stacy Troth and Sonnaz Shah in 11:26 when Coco Malloy pinned Stacy Troth with a Flying Bulldog.

Stacy Troth was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.

Matt Blackburn versus Philippe LaGrenier

This was an interesting match up for two men who had only been involved in multi-man matches with one another. Blackburn has been getting better with each out and LaGrenier has been one of the most in-demand North American independent wrestlers recently. His trio with Flash and Ozzie have been traveling all over North America to defend the World Six-Man Championships and his work in Canada has continued to elevate his status while Blackburn has been hard at work in Japan in Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. Blackburn hit LaGrenier hard but the bigger, stronger LaGrenier was able to impose his will on the smaller Blackburn. Blackburn never backed down and his ‘Fighting Spirit’ attitude continued to win over the Indianapolis faithful. LaGrenier hit a beautiful neckbreaker on Blackburn that got a near fall. Blackburn hit a Jumping Knee Strike that almost won him the match. LaGrenier raked the eyes and set Blackburn up for the Quebec Arrow -- but then saw that Nate DeMarcus, the man he beat last month, was standing near the ring and LaGrenier had some choice words for him -- forgetting about Blackburn. Blackburn was able to get to the ring apron and when LaGrenier turned around, he got a full face of a Springboard Forearm that got Blackburn the win.

In a bout that had great heat and good wrestling, Matt Blackburn defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 10:25 by pinfall with a Springboard Forearm after a distraction from Nate DeMarcus.

Masked Cougar & Hank Gunn versus The Player's Club w/ Lucinda Lush

Masked Cougar was back in action for CWI here, this time with former CWA star (and recent wrestling free agent) Hank Gunn as his partner to battle The Player’s Club -- who were looking to get another big win and get back into the title hunt. Back into the conversation for title matches. At 20 years old, Hank got the call from CWA probably too early in his career and the Canadian company chose not to keep the House of Stone graduate when his contract came up for renewal. Gunn was a bright prospect for the future. The Player’s Club had been earning rave reviews for their team worker and charisma and all three of them just meld perfectly. Cougar and Gunn worked well as a team despite this being their nascent outing. The Player’s Club was willing to cheat and went after Masked Cougar’s mask -- which earned them the ire of the fans and the repriman of the official, but also made Cougar tag out so he could fix his mask and allowed Corner to hit the Corner Cutter on Gunn and get the victory for his team.

In a bout that had great heat and decent wrestling, The Player's Club defeated Masked Cougar and Hank Gunn in 11:38 when Charlie Corner pinned Hank Gunn with a Corner Cutter.

Masked Cougar carried the match in terms of in-ring performance.

The War Maidens came out to the ring and they looked different without the Women’s Championship around Steph Blake’s waist or on her shoulder or in her hands. They looked uncomfortable as they climbed into the ring. Steffi Chee was not in the ring, but she did hand a microphone up to Steph Blake.

Blake, “Last month, here in this building I was completely caught off guard. I was --”

Black Diamond reached forward and snatched the microphone from her.

Diamond, “You were beat by someone you shouldn’t have been. You were beat by someone you should have beat. You were weak. You were everything the War Maidens ain’t supposed to be.”

Blake’s eyes went wide as she realized that Talia and Urena had moved around her like hungry lionesses coming in for the kill. Blake held up her hands as if to say hold on.

Diamond, “You let us down, Steph. You were our leader. We protected you. We stood in front of your enemies and you couldn’t get it done ‘cause yo’ ass is weak. WEAK. And we can’t have that. So we can’t have you.”

With that, Frost and Neema, the Femme Fatales -- the World Women’s Tag Team Champions -- pounced on Blake. Neema hit a Spinning Wheel Kick while Frost went low with a kick right into Blake’s knees. They transitioned from this to hitting her with the #YouToo. Diamond and the Femme Fatales stood over Steph Blake and Diamond yelled that they were done carrying her. It was time for them to shine.

Ace Youngblood versus Zippy Deverell

A rare singles match for Ace Youngblood as he went toe to toe with the inaugural Indiana Heavyweight Champion, Zippy Deverell, in a match that really had the crowd’s interest. Youngblood is a very respected member of the roster and Deverell has turned into one of the standout performers. While he is still developing inside the ring, he has been able to really establish himself as a major heel with the audience. They loathe The Hillbilly Outlaw and every time Ace struck him with a hard chop or a forearm or an uppercut, the crowd cheered. Every time Zippy returned the offense, they booed. It made for a great atmosphere for action. This was mostly a brawl. There were some simple moves -- a Sidewalk Backbreaker. A Middle Rope Headbutt. Simple moves that were effective and told the story of bad blood between these two. Both of their chests were bright red and blistered from all of the chops. Youngblood was getting the better of Zippy. He was battering him with hard chops, including a running chop to the cranium. Youngblood set up for the Flying Tomahawk Chop while Zippy reached into his tights and wrapped his fist around something. Bret Graveson wasn’t in position to see him load his fist so he didn’t know anything was amiss when Ace Youngblood jumped off the top rope and Zippy caught him with a loaded fist right to the jaw and Youngblood slumped to the mat and Deverell tossed whatever the object was out of the ring before Graveson could see it. Deverell made the cover and got the win.

In a bout that had good heat and decent wrestling, Zippy Deverell defeated Ace Youngblood in 9:57 by pinfall after using a foreign object.

Gibson, “So PJ Strong and Mr. Grappling want Bred for Battle? They want the CWI Tag Team Champions in two weeks at God, America and Pro Wrestling? They want to dig that grave? That’s fine. Dreadnought and James will happily put them six feet under. It’s only right after they dug the hole themselves.”

Raven Nightfall versus Felicia Luck ©

Last month, Felicia Luck ended the fourteen-month reign of Steph Blake and this month she had former multiple-time USPW Women’s Champion, Raven Nightfall. This was a mighty challenge for the young Luck, but she didn’t shrink from the spotlight or the opportunity. As the veteran Raven Nightfall brought the fight to Luck, Luck brought the fight right back to her. This was action-packed and a back-and-forth struggle as each woman fought for the Women’s Title. Nightfall hit trademark move after trademark move; moves that fans had seen on television numerous times but Luck kicked out of each of them and pushed Nightfall away to create enough distance to hit her Lucky Strike and Felicia Luck made her first defence.

In an exceptional match, Felicia Luck defeated Raven Nightfall in 9:15 by pinfall with a Lucky Strike. Felicia Luck makes defence number one of the CWI Women's.

Elmo Benson versus "The Indiana Strangler" Conner Threepwood ©

Former SWF and TCW star Elmo Benson has been working in Hawaii and Tennessee for the Confederation of the Territories representatives there and was making his CWI debut against Conner Threepwood. Threepwood won the Mid America Championship for the second time last month when he survived a war with Sayeed Ali. He was still moving gingerly -- it had only been three weeks since his war with Ali and the bruising on his legs and lower back from the battle was still there. They shuck hands at the beginning of the contest. This was a very sportsmanlike affair. Elmo clearly came to wrestle and the two men spent the first several minutes going back and forth, hold for hold. After several minutes, Threepwood surprised Benson by hitting a snap German Suplex. Benson rolled out of the ring and tried to loosen up. Threepwood let him get back in the ring and the match picked up speed for a minute as Benson started to wrestle to his strengths. He hit Threepwood with several quick armdrags and Threepwood took an opportunity to slide out of the ring and take a breather. Benson controlled the next several minutes of the match. He hit a couple of quick snap suplexes and went for a couple of pinfalls, but Threepwood couldn’t be kept down. Threepwood hit another German Suplex and went from that into a Stretch Plum attempt, but Benson slid out of the grip. They wrestled for a few more minutes but again Threepwood hit a German Suplex and went into the Stretch Plum and this time Benson couldn’t escape it and Elmo was forced to submit.

In an exceptional match, Conner Threepwood defeated Elmo Benson in 23:52 by submission with a Stretch Plum. Conner Threepwood makes defence number one of the COTT Mid American title.

Conner Threepwood was celebrating in the ring when “The Hangman’s Body Count” by Volbeat started to play and The Hangman walked out. He didn’t walk to the ring. He just unwound the rope that was around his body and pointed the noose at Conner Threepwood. The Hangman had called his shot.

Championship Wrestling from Indianapolis returns to action just two weeks removed from School's Out for God, America, and Pro Wrestling. At School's Out, The Hangman appeared and made the silent challenge to Conner Threepwood for the Mid American Championship. Threepwood accepted that challenge and they will meet, for the first time ever, at God, America, and Pro Wrestling. Will Conner Threepwood be the first person to pin or submit -- or just knock off his feet -- The Hangman? Or will the Hangman continue to build his reputation as well as his gallows and add the Mid American Championship?</p><p> </p><p>

Bred for Battle will attempt to make their first defence of the CWI Tag Team Championship as they take on the surging PJ Strong and Mr. Grappling. Felicia Luck will put the Women's title on the line against Becca Barton and former stablemates Black Diamond and Steph Blake will go one on one. Plus the Independence Slam! 20 Men enter. It's an over the top rope battle royale with the winner not only gets a shot at the Mid American Championship at Railroad City Rumble, but they also receive $1000 cash!</p><p> </p><p>

You do not want to miss this show. Get your tickets today.</p><p> </p><p>

really, really wanted to pick LaGrenier here, but sadly it seems your views on him have really been lowered, after an original upper card/main event push</p>
