Earnest, “Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting and thrillpacked episode of Wrestling Spotlight from here at Center Stage at Studio 65. I’m joined in the broadcast booth by my colleague Grace Harper. Grace, we have a heck of a show in store.”

Harper, ”We certainly do. The Tag Titles are on the line in our main event in what is an incredibly important match. A lot of young talent has an opportunity to prove themselves tonight. I’m excited.”

Earnest, “I am too and we’re starting off with a video package that we were sent in and told to play. I don’t know what’s on the video, but truck, roll the footage.”

The live video goes to a grainy video package that looks like it was filmed in a cemetery somewhere. We see images of crosses. Gravestones from the rear so no names can be heard. A woman’s voice is speaking.

“Santa Muerte, nosotras convocamos. Santa Muerte, nosotras convocamos. Danos justicia. Justicia contra nuestros enemigos. Justicia contra las que nos hacen daño. Santa Muerte escucha nuestros gritos. Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte protegenos del daño y líbranos la salvación. Amen.”

The voice ends and we see three dark cloaked figures in the distance and then the video focus on a statue of Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte and cuts to black.

Earnest, “I’m not sure what to make of that video. We don’t know who sent it or why and my Spanish is very rusty but it sounded like they were praying to Our Lady of Holy Death. I don’t know what they were praying for or who was praying but I’m very uncomfortable.”

Harper, “I don’t speak any Spanish but I am equally as uncomfortable with the setting and the tone. I don’t like it and I don’t know what it means and I’m not sure I want to know what it means.”

Earnest, “I don’t want to know what it means, but I do want to see our first match of the night -- The World’s Most Dangerous Woman Morgan Stryker going toe to toe with Mad Millie Morgan, daughter of famed British grappler Walter Morgan.”

Harper, “This should be a hard hitting affair. Mad Millie likes to brawl but she can wrestle. She’s a damn good wrestler too and this should definitely live up to the hype.”

Morgan Stryker versus Mad Millie Morgan

This was a very competitive match for being just over six minutes. Mille got the opportunity to showcase her technical skills as she grappled with Stryker. The two women went back and forth and kept this as a snug technical affair. Stryker continusouly tried to take Mille down but Millie was able to block it several times. Millie through a couple of close knees to the abdomen of Stryker and wrapped her arms around the waist of her opponent to hit a gutwrench suplex. Millie tried to go from the gut wrench into a seated guillotine, but Stryker was able to wrestle her way out of it and get back to her feet. Stryker hit a trip that allowed her to go right down into her arm lock that forced the submission and continued her winning streak.

In a decent match, Morgan Stryker defeated Mad Millie Morgan in 6:27 by submission with a Judo Arm Lock.

Earnest, “Morgan Stryker continues to look dangerous and capable as she scores another big win here over Mad Millie Morgan.”

Harper, “Morgan Stryker has a lot of positive momentum on her side and I think sooner or later she’s going to be back to challenging for championships and with this kind of momentum, I wouldn’t want to be the woman who has to stand in her way.”

Earnest, “I wouldn’t either, Grace. Up next we have a video package over the Montgomery Family, so if the production truck wants to roll that, that would be great.”

We see all the members of the Montgomery Family -- all five of them -- performing different moves, mostly the Montgomery Driver and the Montgomery Leglock. The whole video package is of them getting wins -- singles wins, tag wins, trios wins, even eight man tag wins. This is clearly a video package designed to enhance their status within the company, trying to elevate them as serious contenders/big deals.

We come out of the video package and instead of being at the announce desk with Marv and Grace we are at the interview station where Taylor Gordy is standing with Nicky Champion -- who is holding a long leather strap.

Gordy, “I’m joined here by Nicky Champion. Nicky, last week you and your best friend Happy Elwood and your protege Jimmy Chipolata successfully defeated Deverell’s Army. Before that match, you announced that you and Zippy Deverell are going to be going one on one in a strap match as per the stipulation of the contract. That match has been made official with your win, how do you feel now?”

Champion, “Since December of last year, Zippy Deverell has been after me Taylor. He’s made me bleed. He’s had me dropped on my head multiple times. He’s whipped me like a dog. He has done everything in his power to try and take me out of this company, out of this sport. But he hasn’t succeeded. He’ll never succeed. I’m here and I’m staying here and in three weeks… THREE WEEKS, here on Wrestling Spotlight on WrestleWorld, Zippy you and I are going to solve this once and for all. We’re going to have this leather strap -- twelve feet of premium grade leather -- wrapped around our wrists. It’s going to lock us together. It’s going to keep Zippy from being able to run and hide. It’s going to be violent. It’s going to be rough. As my Daddy used to say, I’m going to tan Zippy’s hide. Three weeks, Zippy. That’s all you’ve got to get ready for me. Gordy, “Strong words from Nicky Champion. Back to you Marv and Grace.”

Earnest, “What a match we’ll see in three weeks. A strap match between two men who clearly hate each other. It’s going to be a great night in three weeks, but our night tonight isn’t done.”

Harper, “No it’s not.Coming up next, The Indiana Dragon Reggie Combs steps into the ring with a young man I don’t know much about, Eddie Gallagher. Reggie Combs has been on a good win streak since he lost in the Conner Threepwood Memorial Cup. He’s won all of his matches by submission with his Chrono Choke. The young man who counts Threepwood as his hero, as his inspiration, has been working hard to embody the memory of the kind of pro that Threepwood was.”

"The Indiana Dragon" Reggie Combs versus Eddie Gallagher

This was not a good match. Not by any stretch of the imagination. Gallagher looked out of his depth and Combs was still a young wrestler learning how to put together a match, but he’s clearly someone that HPW was looking to build regardless of how ‘ready’ he was to be built. Combs hit several suplexes, tossing Gallagher around the ring and then locked in several different submission holds as he tried to get to his Chrono Choke. Gallagher tried to fight out of it and was able to avoid it for a bit, but Combs did eventually get the Chrono Choke. He locked it in deep and was able to get the submission victory.

In an abysmal match, Reggie Combs defeated Eddie Gallagher in 4:48 by submission with a Chrono Choke.

Earnest, “Reggie Combs continues his winning streak with another submission victory. I’ll go out on a limb and say that he might be the top submission wrestler in the company. I know that Mr. Grappling has uses the Figure Four Leglock extensively and the Montgomery Family has the Montgomery Leglock and Nebo Martell has the Martell Lock, but all of them have other tools in the tool built. Reggie Combs is a pure submission wrestler and I think he might be the top one in the company.”

Harper, “He might be Marv. The real question on Reggie Combs is if he’ll be able to continue his success as he enters higher-pressure situations and more top level opponents. It’s one thing to beat Eddie Gallagher, it’s another thing when you’re wrestling the likes of Storm Spillane and Marvel Malloy in a tournament. Will he be up for that kind of challenge, the kind of challenge he faced at the Conner Threepwood Memorial? That’s what we have to find out.”

Earnest, “And time will tell us that, but it’s time for us to move to the next match. Lacey Montgomery -- who we saw featured in a video package earlier tonight, takes on young luchadora Pixie Diamini.

"Ms. Texas" Lacey Montgomery versus Pixie Diamini

Another poor match -- but another match that was dominated by one side. Lacey Montgomery is undefeated in competition in HPW and looked to continue her winning ways here. Diamini came out of the gate with a big dropkick that sent Montgomery flying across the ring and into the ropes. Montgomery hit the ropes and bounced back into a deep arm drag from Diamini. Diamini followed that up with a Standing Shooting Star Press that got a near fall and Montgomery was in a world of trouble. Montgomery stumbled back to her feet and Diamini hit the ropes and came back and looked like she wanted to hit a Flying Headscissors takedown, but Montgomery caught her, lifted her high up into the air and brought her down with a hard Sit Out Powerbomb that really showed the power that Montgomery showcases. Montgomery followed that up with a Tilt-a-Whirl backbreaker and it was only another minute or so before Lacey locked in the Montgomery Leglock and secured the victory by submission.

In a terrible match, Lacey Montgomery defeated Pixie Diamini in 4:49 by submission with a Montgomery Leglock.

Harper, “Another win for the undefeated Lacey Montgomery who is closing in on her opportunity to challenge for either the All Action or Women’s Championship, Marv. I’m excited to see her get a title opportunity. I think Lacey Montgomery might be the future of the women’s division in this company.

Earnest, “You could be right, Grace. You are a former women’s wrestler yourself and you know what it takes to succeed at a high level.”

Harper, “I definitely do Marv, and she’s got what it takes.”

Earnest, “Speaking of whatever it takes, up next youngster Harry Bradley steps into the ring with Roy Goodlooks. Goodlooks has been very impressive in recent months and is one of the young wrestlers here in HPW that is looking for a big break.”

Harper, “Goodlooks is a big rough cowboy who wrestles a lot like former World Champion Ricky Dale Johnson -- who has clearly been an influence on the way Goodlooks approaches competition. Time will tell if Goodlooks will reach the same levels as RDJ, but the future is always bright for a guy with his size.”

Harry Bradley versus Roy Goodlooks

The young Harry Bradley has a big opportunity to maybe make an impression here on HPW and get a contract against one of the young building blocks that HPW management is supposedly high on -- especially with Texan Justice being gone and leaving just Roy Goodlooks as the resident cowboy. The big Goodlooks looks a lot like a young RDJ when he was working in TWL as Sidewinder. With Ricky Dale Johnson having passed away two years ago, the young Goodlooks looks to be trying to keep his memory alive. Goodlooks is still very rough around the edges and his offense was clearly not very polished, but it was effective. He hit a big Fall Away Slam that sent Bradley across the entire ring and stumbled back to his feet. He charged towards Goodlooks, which was a mistake, as it opening him up to the Southern Justice [black Hole Slam] that Goodlooks adopted from RDJ and Goodlooks got another big win.

In a bout that had little heat and embarrassing wrestling, Roy Goodlooks defeated Harry Bradley in 3:17 by pinfall with a Southern Justice.

Harper, “I agree. They’ve always said that you can’t teach size and Goodlooks has that in spades.”

Earnest, “He certainly does. He just has to put the size together with all the other tools and he could be a major player -- but two men who are major players, the COTT World Tag Team Titles, The Ring Generals, are standing by with Taylor Gordy.”

The cameras cut over to the interview portion of the set where Taylor Gordy is standing with the World Champs and Lucinda Lush.

Lush, “Don’t answer that boys. I will. You want to know where they’ve been? They’ve been in Japan finishing their last commitments with Pride Glory Honor Wrestling. They’ve been in Canada defending the World Tag Titles. They’ve been in Mexico defending them. Los Angles. San Diego. Baltimore. They’ve been all over because they’re the World Tag Team Champions. They hold the most prestigious titles for tag teams in the entire world because they’re the best tag team in the world. That’s where they’ve been.”

Gordy, “Well while they’ve been traveling all over the world, Mr. Grappling and Sandman Winks have officially challenged them to a match for the World Tag Team Titles and the Confederation of the Territories Championship Committee has given their approval to the match.”

Lush, “You think we don’t know? You think a decision about the World Titles gets made and we don’t know about it? Of course Marv and Dean know they have a match coming up with Mr. Grappling and Sandman Winks. We even know when it is. It is in seven weeks at Thanksgiving Turmoil. That’s the first opening in their calendar and my boys will be there. They will be ready and they will show the difference between men and boys. See Marv and Dean, they’re grown men. They’re the most accomplished tag team in the world. They’re THE World Tag Team Champions. Mr. Grappling and Sandman Winks, they’re boys who have been fighting other boys but now want to step into the ring with men. They’re going to find out that there is a world of difference between what they’re used to and what the Ring Generals bring to the table. That’s it. We’re out of here.”

Lucinda leads her two men off.

Gordy, “It’s official. At Thanksgiving Turmoil the World Tag Team Titles will be on the line as Mr. Grappling and Sandman Winks challenge the Ring Generals. Back to you Marv and Grace.”

Earnest, “Well we’ve got seven weeks to find out. Speaking of the Texas Express challenging for the HPW Tag Team Titles, the number one contenders are in action next.

The Texas Express versus The Bulldogs

The number one contenders had a tune up match against The Bulldogs -- a young team of two guys dressed in black singlets and both with long blonde hair. The Express debuted slightly new looks with new tights themed to the flag of Texas. This was a pretty easy warm up match for the Express. They controlled the ring and they quickly took Bulldog #2 out of the match when Cooper came off the rope for a Second Rope Clothesline that turned Bulldog #2 inside out and forced him to tag in Bulldog #1 and then collapse on the side of the ring. Bulldog #1 ate a series of double team moves from Cooper and Turk and the match ended when The Texas Express hit him with a Texas Rising.

In an extremely short match, The Texas Express defeated Bulldog #1 and Bulldog #2 in 4:07 when Cooper Christie pinned Bulldog #1 with a Texas Rising.

Harper, “The positive momentum will serve them well. Challengers to titles need a lot of positive momentum, because by nature you’re challenging people who are champions, who have momentum on their side, so you want to go into the match with a lot of momentum.”

Earnest, “That’s a great point and who knows, maybe they won’t be challenging The Dynamite Express, because they’re going up against the Brothers Samoa in just a few minutes, but before we get to that, Taylor Gordy is standing by with the All Action Champion Talia Neema.”

We go from the announce desk to Taylor Gordy standing on the interview desk with talia Neema.

Gordy, “Thank you Marv. As you said, I’m here with the All Action Champion, the Pharaoh Talia Neema who, in seven weeks, will meet Yvonne Ericks at Thanksgiving Turmoil to unify the Women’s and All Action Championship. With seven weeks to prepare, how are you feeling?”

Neema, “Like a woman who is waiting for her throne to be finished. Seven weeks, Taylor. That’s all I have to wait. Seven more weeks until I am the undisputed ruler of the Women’s division here in HPW. Seven weeks until I have brought Yvonne Ericks to her knees at my feet and even she has to bow down to the Pharaoh.”

Gordy, “Are you training differently for this match than you would any other match?”

Neema, “Do you think I’m really going to come out here on national TV with seven weeks to go before my title match and give away my training sessions? No. But rest assured I’m building a game plan that I’m going to fine tune over the next several weeks to make sure I’m in tip top condition to leave Thanksgiving Turmoil as the Undisputed Women’s Champion and to bring this whole division in line with what I want, because when the Pharaoh demands something, that demand becomes a reality and I DEMAND to be the face of this division. Seven weeks. I can’t wait.”

Talia Neema walks off.

Gordy, “The All Action Champion Talia Neema is definitely motivated for her match in seven weeks against Yvonne Ericks. Wait. It looks like I’m about to be joined by Danny Draper and Lucinda Lush…”

Draper, “You know Taylor Gordy, the only things I do in life are get dressed quick and break hearts, you know what I mean? Don’t try to answer, that’s a rhetorical question. You know, a couple of months ago Wild Red Stallion, the big bastard stole my Indiana Heavyweight Championship. He took from me something I held dear. See, he fought dirty. He didn’t fight me fair and you know Taylor Gordy, I can get down and be dirty with the dirtiest of them all, but as you can see I can also be as clean as they come. You notice it Lucinda Lush, a little cl -- no that’s too much, too much. You keep your eyes off of her Taylor Gordy. Wild Red Stallion, me and you are going to do this thing. Next week here on Wrestling Spotlight I’m going to get my championship back and once again the Cadillac Four will be draped in gold.”

Gordy, “The former Indiana Champion with some strong words for Wild Red Stallion. Back to you Marv and Grace.”

Earnest, “You’re absolutely right Grace and it should be a great match. It has major implications on Thanksgiving Turmoil. If the Brothers Samoa manage to win tonight, they’re headed to Thanksgiving Turmoil to defend against Texas Express.”

The Brothers Samoa [Kanikoshi & Tana the Mighty] versus The Dynamite Express ©

The Brothers Samoa, the duo of former Sumo champ Kanikoshi and former TCW star Tana the Mighty came to the ring with a lot of fanfare. They did a traditional Mak Sa’Moa on their way to the ring that really got the crowd excited and then the Dynamite Express came to the ring. This was the most competitive match of the night. The Brothers Samoa controlled the bulk of the match using, well, their bulk. The two big men didn’t move fast but they used their size to punish the Dynamite Express. Tana did the bulk of the work for his team because it was clear that Kanikoshi left his best days either in Puerto Rico or Japan and the big man is making a living off of his name and not his skill at this point. Tana looked somewhat motivated and he hit Cam Jones with the requisite Samoan Drop (every Samoan wrestler does a version after all) that he then followed up with a big Splash that almost won the match but Cam was just able to get his shoulder off the mat. Cam was really in a world of hurt when Tana tagged in Kanikoshi and Cam was able to use a Syd Collier distraction to mule kick Kanikoshi south of the border and make the tag. Syd took Kanikoshi down with a low dropkick and from here it was all Dynamite Express as they focused on the leg. They released they weren’t likely to be able to slam the big man, so they just kept him off of his feet and worked that tree-trunk like leg over. Kanikoshi fought to his feet several times, but the Dynamite Express showed they they were the top team in HPW and after a tag back to Cam Jones, the DE hit the Chop and Charge to take Kanikoshi back down and get the pinfall and the fifth successful defense of the Tag Titles.

In a bout that had fantastic heat and good wrestling, The Dynamite Express defeated Tana The Mighty and Kanishoki in 9:48 when Cam Jones pinned Kanishoki with a Chop and Charge. The Dynamite Express make defence number five of the HPW Tag Team. Kanishoki was the weak link, struggling to keep up with everyone else's in-ring performance.
