More notes on the 1992 mod:

 

- Heisei Ishingun wasn't active until later on in 1992, specifically August

- Although AKIRA and Iizuka did team together sporadically in New Japan from 1987 to 1990, they didn't regularly team until later on in 1992, and definitely weren't known as J-J-Jacks until 1993

- Shiro Koshinaka shouldn't be in Dragon Bombers due to being a heel

- Norio Honaga should be a heel

Is Ric Flair popularity a little too high for the time? A little lower might be better. Maybe the same for Hulk Hogan? But I am not entirely sure. Sting a bit more for it.

Undertaker is maybe easily too high.

 

Ricky Steamboat's popularity needs to lower too. Likewise Sgt. Slaughter.

Ultimate Warrior with 89 probably too high.

 

DDP should perhaps be a bit higher.

Additionally the attribute "Age is just a number"

 

Scott Hall to low too?

I can reduce their Popularity. I will be vigilant and ask though, were Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Undertaker not Major Stars of their promotions? What should they be number wise? Decreasing them is likely to drop them from Major to just Stars. I'll boost DDP & Stings popularity a little. I spent hours trying to balance WCW so I'm not willing to undo it easily (sorry but the way the game engine works, people wanted WCW bigger which means people have to have higher popularity to fit into the slots they were at) Honestly not being antagonistic, just trying to get this to the best possible version today as I wont be releasing another update afterwards if people say "Why aren't there more major stars in the big companies?!?".

 

Slaughter and Steamboat will be given decreases. They were oversights from 1992 mod.

Hey, this is a minor thing, but it looks like nobody else mentioned it. But Chris Jericho & Bryan Clark should probably use their alt pics.

 

That, and if it ain't much trouble, I would appreciate an early 2000s Benoit picture being added. I do realize that there wouldn't be a world of difference between that and the 2007 pic that's already in (other than just, him looking older and stuff), but it would be nice to have.

Couple ECW notes:

 

- Joel Gertner should be removed from the announcing team. Styles was still calling shows solo at this point

- Paul Diamond's popularity should be reduced so he is Unimportant within ECW

- I feel Tommy Rich should have his popularity reduced so he is Well Known at best and Recognisable at worst within ECW

- If you want to set up for long term booking it might be worth considering removing Lance Storm from The Triple Threat stable and putting Bigelow back in. In storyline Storm is only with them for a couple months, never officially gets made a member and by the start of February the whole thing is revealed to be a ruse

- Also, I'm not sure if it's something I did during the set-up, but the game created generic events to fill in the gaps for months without one. It didn't do that in the beta

Yes, maybe my advice was too petty. If only I would change everything by a few points. But that would likely be revised in the game within a short period of time.

Thank you for the work in putting this 98 mod out Fleisch. Jan 98 is a fantastic time and I'm looking forward to rebooking the WCW run of Bret Hart.

 

I've spotted a few very minor things that are easily corrected for anyone else who's looking to start a WCW game.

 

1. Davey Boy Smith, Jim Neidhart, and Rick Martel are set as heels when they should be faces.

 

2. Lex Luger has starting morale that means he's very angry with WCW, but this is based on something that happened in 1991. This is probably best deleted before starting a game.

 

Other than those minor things, everything else looks great from what I can see as far as WCW is concerned. I'm looking forward to jumping into a game later today. Thank you once again Fleisch

Thanks so much for this, Fleisch. As soon as you mentioned you were releasing a final update I was glad I didn’t get time to start a game after the first release!

 

Definitely gonna be doing an ECW save, but I’ve no doubt I’ll get multiple playthroughs with WWF and WCW too.

There's actually five different starting morales that should be deleted before beginning the game, also Davey Boy Smith is set to a handshake deal instead of written.
