TCW Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I'm a couple of weeks into a test save with TCW and really enjoying it. Have kinda split my divisions into styles, with the men's singles divisions being the domain of brawlers and technicians. I've hired high-flyers to turn my tag division into mostly a high spot division. Likewise, I've started a Womens Division and hired ten women, mostly talented high-flyers, using the head-canon that TCW thinks it's fans will adapt to a women's division easier if it's more spotty and less violent.

Turned Marc Speed face after he had a long match with Aaron Andrews and they shook hands with The Ace "endorsing" Speed. I found in TEW16 that Speed was such a good workhorse when elevated to the uppercard. A great guy for TV tag team main events to take the fall but keep the matches good.

Getting invested in my MAW save but when I start TCW, plans are to slowly and gradually unite Chord, Stone and Gauge as a sort of Legacy stable. Hawkins, fed up with being down on his luck navigates and allows a situation to develop where his current Syndicate members will be unanimously beaten and bloodied by The generational trio. These 3 join Hawkins as a new and further improved Syndicate that'll have 4 elite talents in it.

Ideally, one combination of the trio will have at least good chemistry. Also, in an ideal scenario, Hollywood Star or Matthew Keith becomes available and I sign him up to join them.

Then I've got my dominant heel stable to run riot over TCW to then allow Andrews, Mighty Mo and their baby face underdogs to go to war.

Fast forward months, maybe a year and the group will overthrow Hawkins and they're a second-generational dominant Legacy stable with a new face to fight off.

All sounds great in theory and planned out. Not put it to the test yet.

A little MAW history- they actually had a stable full of second generation stars called The Succession. Sadly (for us) most of them are stars all over the planet now (Vessey, Valentine, Starr) but Jay Chord still remains. In one run I planned on reloading the stable with Ash Campbell but he turned up high on his second night. The Diaz family boys are kicking around out there too, maybe even Dreadnought as a super protected bodyguard type.

Here's my most recent tv episode.

So I started up Saturday Night Showcase as my B show, and one thing I would suggest to anyone that does so is to cancel one of your weekly house shows. Two weeks in and my undercard workers were nearly all feeling the fatigue of working too much. I got so many notifications about it that I also canceled a second house show on PPV weeks so I'm only running a single house show on week 3. I just did not want to risk my guys being worn out from small gate shows come Sunday.

Also, I know I've talked up Yuta Isono as the next (smaller) Koshiro Ino for TCW, but if you can convince Will Beaumont to work in America he's absolutely the next (smaller) Rocky Golden for you. Starts with 94 SQ and is open to becoming more muscular, has the amazing babyface attribute so he fill the figurehead role, and has the marketing dream attribute as well.

The goal with TCW this year is to rebuild, and he can absolutely be the bedrock after some time in development. Lock him up in a LONG contract ASAP.

Yeah with Will it looks like it'll take some in ring development but he's already got everything. I put him on my shortlist as a future signing but I somehow missed the fact he's already in the 90s for charisma, which would have been an instant signing if I noticed that before. Tossed him an offer now

Really like that playing as a bigger company it feels like scouting talent and looking for hidden gems is a lot bigger now instead of just looking at the indie companies in the area. It feels really nice to find guys like him that you can pick up right at the start.

So the very first thing I did with TCW was delete TCW Battleground, move TCW King of Kings to March and re-activate TCW A Little South of Sanity in November.

The idea we would have our Total Mayhem main event decided 6 month's in advance was crazy to me, also what the hell is TCW Battleground anyway? a zero importance event while Sanity a highly regarded event just sat dormant? what is this madness?

The second move was to hire Davis Wayne Newton and Nelson Callum so we can put the work-rate back into TCW's midcard.

This isn't the TCW we left in 2016 but I'm damn sure going to try and fix it.

Given that it’s a tournament I see it more as a G1/Rumble type deal where it gets you the title shot.

Sure Andrews vs Wolf is the main event for Total Mayhem but there’s a lot you can do before you land there, and it’s time enough to set up viable directions afterwards as well.

I only have 4 cards left in this save until whenever the retail release happens, but I'm pleased with where TCW sits in my game. Money is a non-issue, the guys I hired aren't over, but I'm working on it. Troy Tornado is almost over enough to be perceived as a star, and he has great chemistry teaming with Maverick. I added a trios title to be decided in an 8 team tournament, which Troy, Maverick, and Remus will win. Jay Chord strapped a rocket to his ass and lit the fuse...that guy is going to get the World Title eventually. Probably have him win his feud with Bach, then work a feud with AA ending with Chord getting the belt.

<p>First PPV in the bank and I'm happy with the results. In the first TCW save I ran, I had Wolf and Aaron main event in a strap match and it got an 89, which is a lot better than what I got here, but it's still enough to grow me. Basically, I like the idea of the King of Kings winner not getting a one on one shot until Total Mayhem, and Wolf tried to game the system by getting Doc Hammond in a triple threat match so he could get the belt early. </p><p> </p><p>

It's interesting that so far a lot of us seem to be booking the main event scene pretty similarly. Andrews beating Wolf and then eventually have Chord beat Andrews down the road. I saw someone use the King of Kings win as a guarantee main event for Total Mayhem, which I've done too because I thought in the description that's what happened. It's interesting to see we're generally thinking the same far as booking this.

The heel side is in much better shape with Wolf, Jay, and Taylor, so there's good programs for Andrews to work. Meanwhile, the face side just isn't as good so if a heel has the belt there's not much for him to work with.</p>

I just mapped out my save for about 6 months and I can't see Andrews losing any time soon. Here is what the world title picture looks like pending changes

January: Andrews vs Bach vs Chord

February: Andrews vs Hawkins (60 minute draw)

March: Andrews vs Bach vs Chord vs Hawkins Elimination match

April: Andrews vs Gauge (IF he can get hot enough)

May: Andrews vs Hawkins

June: Andrews vs Chord

I might give Chord a 1 month run with the belt before ultimately losing the feud, but I'm content with him until there's more faces to challenge his eventual successor. I guess it doesn't help that Bach is most likely in decline for me and has been underwhelming in all of his matches thus far.

I plan to run AA/Hawkins through Total Mayhem. After that, I'm considering having Chord win the belt at the following PPV, then let AA chase rematches until losing the feud and his hair at one of the fall ppvs...If there was a way to do a Cody Rhodes style whipping angle, I might do that to set up the final match.

Similar thought patterns as I mentioned. I gave Doc the January challenge as the off screen committee rewards his recent performances. Wolf is cool with it and supports Doc. Syndicate is all business after all and an all Syndicate Total Mayhem main event sounds good to Wolf. Andrews beats him.

Then Freddy gets his first World title challenge ever (that's how I hyped it). Same reason. I had Freddy do a one month feud with Fonz before challenging. Andrews retains, Syndicate attacks post match.

Sets up Battleground where Syndicate beats Team Andrews (him, Human Arsenal to play off the OG Syndicate ties and Devine Fortune, who's been feuding with the Syndicate. I did a make up seg in January between Andrews and Fortune where the former apologises for turning on Chance years ago.)

Andrews personally wants to out over Killer Shark so Andrews will somehow drop a fall to KS in April and that results in his title shot at the PPV. Andrews wins, then finally Wolf at Total Mayhem, where Andrews will win, then lose to Chord the following month.

I plan on giving Chord two defenses (old nemesis Mighty Mo and then probably One Man Army or Edd ) before dropping it back to Andrews by the end of the year.

I will also go with Andrews vs. Wolf at Total Mayhem.

Wolf won King of Kings, that´s your ticket to the Main Event of the biggest show. I´m just not sure, who will win the match.

My original plan was Andrews to retain and then lose the Title to Chord, but I´m not sure if Wolf (and The Syndicate) can afford this loss?? And I don´t have a plan for Wolf yet, if he lose.

On the other hand, I want to create a Stable of second generation stars (I´m pretty sure everyone has done this at one point in TEW :D).

So, Greg Gauge interferes in the Match against Andrews and helps Chord to win the Title and they absolutely dominate TCW in the next months.

I would like to give Chord a lenghty reign and my plan is still to give Sammy his moment at Total Mayhem XXV, by beating Chord for the Title, even if he is in time decline.

And of course, Chord and Gauge will feud at one point in the future, most likely with a Face turn for Gauge.

My only problem is, how to book Wolf and The Syndicate after Total Mayhem??

Having two big Heel Stables is a bit tricky.

<p>So, am itching for the full game to get released ….. got a real good TCW save on the go and completed the two month trial , slowly coming to terms with the game mechanics.</p><p> </p><p>

Am thinking of inserting Mighty Mo into my feud with Andrews and Wolf, especially with Andrews injured for a month and having it go on till at least Total Mayhem. Hoping having Mo flirt with the main event will give him a pop boost with the intention of him being a bona fide main eventer in 18months </p><p> </p><p>

I lost Taylor to Uspw, even though I offered him more money, so he has been jobbed out until he suffered a major concussion and is now out for a year.</p><p> </p><p>

In my current game, a lot of the major women talent contracts are coming up for renewal, am going to go in a bidding war for these girls and build a strong women's division, well the best in the game that's the aim. In the space of 3 months Alicia Strong, Melody, Charity Sweet, Raven Nightfall and Tiffany Jade will all be available, so am going all out for them girls.</p><p> </p><p>

Brooke Taylor is signed and sealed along with Missy Masterson who USPW put little effort in resigning, bailing at the first stage of a bidding war. I think I may have also won a bidding war for Sara Marie York as well.</p><p> </p><p>

EILL have a lot of talents contracts coming up as well in the next 8 months, in particular Gino Montero in 5 months who ill will be going all out to sign. One thing I have noticed with EILL is alot of their talent are getting insane pop increases in the USA an example of this would be Boom Boom Jamaica jumping from the 16/18 pop to 48/51 pop in all area of USA in just two months. This has happened to a lot of their stars, anyone know why ?</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

So, a few things I need help on. Am finding it particularly hard getting talent over from the indies/people not over in the USA, any suggestions or tips on how to overcome this?</p><p> </p><p>

Also my roster is fatigued all the time after adding a second show, ive cut down house shows now to 1 a week going forward so I hope that sorts the problem out, they were even asking for time to heel after just cutting a promo on a show.</p><p> </p><p>

Lastly wrestlers primes? what would you guys class as a wrestlers prime, am in the football midset where a players prime is 28 and by the time they are 32/33 finished near enough. So for this game what would you class as prime and start of decline ages?</p><p> </p><p>

sorry for the long post guys, like I say am excited ha ha going to be a long 12 days till full release</p>

<p>So one of the things I want to do with this iteration of the Syndicate is have the members replaced. It really comes across like Wolf pretending to be like Tommy with a total knockoff group and I love that, but I'm going to have Wolf be booked as a total tyrant of a leader that slowly ousts all the members, eventually replacing with guys more in line with the original Syndicate. </p><p> </p><p>

I'll need a next generation star in his early twenties to simulate the old Wolf. I've got a lot of high SQ guys in development, so I'm waiting for the full release to see who I want. Two guys I'm looking at are Prime Time Jack Pryde and Yuta Isono. </p><p> </p><p>

For tags, I'm looking at James Diaz and Logan Wolfsbaine. It's so natural that even my development company teamed them up without my input. </p><p> </p><p>

For the Sam Keith-veteran role, I'm not sure. Doc Hammond is decent, but he's a tag guy trying to fill a role that should go to a former main event player. I'm kind of hoping for an SWF or USPW contract to come up soon and snatch one of their guys for it. Maybe The Crippler? Oh or Gilmore too.</p>

Maybe it's just me but I really like Doc. His stats surprised me. I figured he was good in ring, and he is. His Psych is in the 85-93 range. But his mic and charisma are green 65-73, which means it's in the 70s. That I didn't expect. He's someone I look for in a second tier guy and I'm going to do whatever to keep him.

Far as plans for Syndicate post Total Mayhsi, I've toyed with the of giving Wolf and Doc a tag run. Chandler's contract is coming up and I'm going to let him walk. Probably won't replace him right away. End game is turning Wolf face next year with Hugs usurping him and her becoming the leader.
