And hail the newest (and smallest) promotion in the C-verse. I had a soft spot for ROF as it was my first TEW-game. It went long and it's perhaps the easiest promotion to play because of the small scale. However, you only start with 10K in the bank. Luckily, the financial system has been reworked so workers come and perform for 30$. :p

Some nice signings include earlier ROF mainstays like:

- Don(ald) Henderson : 40$

- Merle O'Curle : Ye ol' champ. Will cost ya 200$, but worth every penny :p

- Billy Robinson : but he's in Japan atm so I doubt it's a good move atm.

- Walter Morgan : 80$

These are old, but can put over your younger workers.

I'm definitely picking this for the demo playthrough and my first dabs into the CV20. Anybody else? And what would you guys recommend?

<p>I started transforming my CWW as mentioned above into a Premier League, World Rankings, Cup style promotion.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Premier League</strong></span></p><p>

This is the list of participants in what will be the first season, ignore the Semi-Finals as they are just lookups against the current positions. Top 4 compete in a Grand Final, bottom gets relegation and 8th/9th compete in a relegation playoff.</p><p>

<img alt="bMyNnVm.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/bMyNnVm.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

This is how the league is going to be laid out. 9 matches so everyone wrestles each other and random wildcard match each to take it up to 10.</p><p>

<img alt="gZ6k9w7.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/gZ6k9w7.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Shield</strong></span></p><p>

Ive also added a couple of tournaments (Shield - lower level, Cup - higher level, Survival - starts 4 vs 4 winners then split to tag team then the winners face each other in the final, and a Battle Royale).</p><p>

<img alt="p4md6rQ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/p4md6rQ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>World Rankings</strong></span></p><p>

The World Rankings are built up based on achievements over the past rolloing 3 seasons. They key to the right shows how they get their points.</p><p>

<img alt="ylBr0wo.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ylBr0wo.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

I never pick the winners of the matches but I do put in RA notes to make the matches as good as possible e.g. "Call in Ring" where applicable etc.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Comparator</strong></span></p><p>

I have also been working on a comparator tool that reads from the saved game data, this will help me identify which rookie wrestler could be the next to get into the Premier League.</p><p>

<img alt="VsWVyd6.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/VsWVyd6.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

This all does make my Events schedule rather busy though haha but I have it all planned out at least:</p><p>

<img alt="0kqz7eI.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/0kqz7eI.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p>

<img alt="OuHuYts.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/OuHuYts.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

As the company grows, the plan is to make a second division, a womens division and a tag team tournament. Also a weekly TV Roadshow with a touring champion.</p><p> </p><p>

I appreciate that is a bit of a mammoth post... but yeah thats my plan for CWW haha.</p>

I need to take a little bit of creative license such as turning off match aims etc. but really it seems they were ready to go out of the box.</p><p> </p><p> The funny thing is once it's set up its so easy to rattle through shows and you got some genuinely shocking results at times too. </p><p> </p><p> I simply use a fixture list generator (<a href="https://www.fixturelist.com/createlist" rel="external nofollow">https://www.fixturelist.com/createlist</a>) to create the league fixtures and then random.org for the tournaments then that's a full years worth of matches all done!</p>

Planning on playing with them when the full game comes out. Normally I just make my own company in the Cverse, but they caught my eye right away. Their style of wrestling is one that I enjoy a lot in real life. Thinking about trying to get into an alliance/partnership with UEW after a move up in size. Feel like they could be natural allies.

Wow, how did you make that comparison tool? I can whip something similar up in excel (had to do it for work), but not this good-looking.

Anyhow, if anyone ends up signing Merle O'Curle, ffs change your schedule for january, as I didn't check it (c'mon... what are the odds? :p) and boom, missed him.

I played with CWW first time through the demo and found them a bit boring due to the long match requirements and the lack of angles. Having read this thread however I think a CWW save with leagues and cups would be really good fun. I imagine you'd have sport style interviews and analysis afterwards.

I've tried it in ROF a decade ago but it eventually gets boring once you've brought in tens of 'guest' competitors. When you're exhausted the potential matchups, it becomes a bit of a drag.

In WMMA5, it's more fun as it's actually a competitive environment. It's true you hold off on setting a "winner" match note, but it's unclear to me what is the deciding factor for the AI there. I think it's largely based on popularity, but maybe it's even 50/50 (I doubt it though, at least during TEW16). It can be fun to see what the AI goes for.

It's interesting to see how you value the stats then. Personally I'd say a size difference of 2+ is the most relevant, but in practice you could have a "low middleweight" be the same as a "high lightweight", so one level doesn't really matter. But in CWW I wouldn't sign a heavyweight anyway, so it's probably not an issue.

Just as feedback on your method, I would also not take safety, reputation and respect into account, though the latter might be debatable. I'd also drop resiliency as it serves as an indicator for random events.

Merle was awesome with CWW settings, as long as you could keep him. I also liked Robinson and Nigel Svennson as solid uppercard guys.</p>

<p>I only have 1 show left to do in the trial and that is my second tournament final. Its a 30-Minute Iron Man Match between Curtis Jenkins and Padraig O'Hearne. </p><p> </p><p>

Here is the Tale of the Tape (Note: The Premier League season hasn't started and won't until the full game comes out so their position is purely alphabetical but the World Ranking and Total CWW record are correct) the final will be a close one!</p><p>

<img alt="w0aSqil.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/w0aSqil.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

I also made a very basic roster overview as a quick view in my Excel file:</p><p>

<img alt="q1xuyOl.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/q1xuyOl.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

For anyone interested, here are their skills compared:</p><p>

<img alt="jtXTXIb.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/jtXTXIb.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

With only 2 pop points between Jenkins and O'Hearne and an exact same Total W/L record, the final should make for a very interesting match.</p>

  • 2 weeks later...

Huh... The King of the North title was won by "Jonni" at King of the North 2020...

Was this programmed in? :p He even looks a bit like Jon Snow imo.

@PowerfulFox: For the sake of the graphics looking more alike, I'd personally cut "basics" and "respect" from the fundAmentals. It doesn't do anything in-ring and for immersion should be covered by "experience".

I wonder how this would in a FAUX MMA style promotion?

The good: you can get away with short "KO"/"submission"-finish matches, and you're not tied to specific match aims for each show. Plus the whole league-style structure makes more sense.

The bad: that style favors popular workers slightly more, which will be a pain in CWW or your own minor organisation. You also won't make money as this sort of product won't really be "traditional" anymore. Lastly, the style is more intensive as well, so if you're running a weekly schedule, they might not make season 10. :o

Yep that's a good point mate, I will chop those out.

Great stuff Powerful Fox!!! Two questions:

1. How do you book the workers who are not in the league/tournaments?

2. How do you handle somebody leaving due to being signed up by someone else?

They go in the pre-show as the "under-card". I grab their names and put them in either a random generator or I have a look at match performances to see who could put on a good undercard match. To give them plenty of experience I also added a monthly "Tour" show which is actually a lesser event type and will focus predominantly the undercard, a Fighting Championsip match (Fighting Championship is the only typical belt defended at each show where possible) and maybe a pop in from one of the bigger names.

I added this little monkey in to track who my better performers are:

DaaRuxI.jpg

Your second question is really interesting as frankly... I don't know. My initial response would be to use an understudy and give them the average of the league points and let them finish off the previous workers' matches. I think that would be the fairest way.

To be honest, I haven't found any issues with the game prioritizing popularity, I have had quite a few somewhat surprising results and 4-5 real shock results in 2 months so far. At the same time, it keeps the realism of favourites for the majority. I think it has the balance down really well, if anything I'd say it has had more surprising results than expected.

EDIT: Since the beta was extended, I actually restarted this from scratch a few days ago as a completely new save. Its worked out very interesting with Martin Heath and Jon Michael Sharp (100 Experienced tag team) being the finalists of one competition and another competition having a shock winner in JK Lee.
