Kashmir Singh’s Residence, Mumbai...............................

The alarm clock woke me up from my slumber. It was 7 in the morning and i wanted to start early. Because today was a big day. Ever since Mr. Praveen Kapadia, the secretary to Mr. Rajiv Avatar, the head honcho of media conglomerate Avatar Entertainment, i was ecstatic.

Ever since i came back to my homeland and opened the Mumbai Wrestling Academy, i had always wanted one thing, a thriving wrestling industry. I mean we are the world’s most populous democracy and we have so much potential. This country has showered me with so much love, the time when i raised my FCW People’s Championship, the messages and the love that followed it and every time i defended the FCW Tag Team Championship along with my good friend, Kirk Jameson, the appreciation of my fans, my country and the heartfelt wishes for me felt so surreal.

I had to give back to wrestling the way wrestling had given to me. The Academy was the start of that but now I had a real chance to make it worthwhile. Avatar Entertainment was interested in kickstarting a wrestling industry and i had a meeting with Mr. Rajiv himself.

I better not be late.

Avatar Entertainment HO, Mumbai...............................

Mr. Avatar: So, Mr. Singh. We here at Avatar Entertainment are very pleased to see your efforts in kickstarting a wrestling industry here and we would want to be a part of that vision.

Kashmir: Thanks sir. It will be an honour. What do you propose, a wrestling promotion??

Mr. Avatar: Exactly and your academy will be the training centre for it, training up new wrestlers. I also want you to be the booker of the promotion. I want you to get a platform to execute your vision and i am willing to be the provider.

Kashmir: That’s so generous of you. That will be a great starting point. Do you have any ideas as to how we will get about it??

Mr. Avatar: Well, we have already filed a new company name by Mumbai Grand Prix Wrestling. It’s a catchy one.

Kashmir: Uh.... Well... Ok (rolling his eyes) . I was thinking we can also start it as a new series in your streaming platform LivStar. None of your competitors have any kind of wrestling shows so it will take you further ahead of them. We can do weekly episodes and i already have a list of names in my head who will be willing to work with us. So.....

Mr. Avatar: Hold on young man.... Who said anything about programming?? Until i can smell profitability and viability and sustainability, i am not putting it anywhere in any of my outlets.

Kashmir: But....

Mr. Avatar: That’s all. Now, go and prove me that it is viable. And another thing, I have two sons who are very interested in wrestling and they have even trained themselves, one as a referee and another as a wrestler. Find places for them in your roster and do us proud.

Oh heck yes! Kanegan great to see you! Thought about you when Adam said India would be added, excited for this my friend

Thanks mate. So good to hear from you after a long time. When Adam announced India as a new region, I just knew that it has to be my 1st project.

Kashmir --

And you thought it was going to be easy.

Wouldn't want to make it easy. :) The region is already barebones but hopefully I can make it work for the delight of Mr. Avatar.

MGPW Headquarters, Mumbai...............................

So, it's been a week since i was named as the head booker of MGPW, short of Mumbai Grand Prix Wrestling, very tacky name i know but it will work for now. My immediate concern was that my programming proposal was rejected by the powers to be and i had to manage his two sons but atleast i had put on a decent roster for now and i just had to ensure maximum coverage for the promotion. If it can't come from the boss, it has to come from me. So, i decided on the schedule, a weekly show being put on the official YouTube channel which can spread the vision.

After all, Avatars have cash to burn, don't they??

PRESENTS

8dQ0Kdf.png

Episode 1

Location: Bandra Kurla Auditorium, Attendance: 56

The show opens with our renowned announcer, Kishan Tahil welcoming everyone and how they are witnessing a revolution in the country. He praises the Avatar Entertainment guys and also showers healthy dose on Kashmir Singh who kickstarted the wrestling revolution and how this promotion could not have existed without him. He also plugs in the inaugural matches, of which there will be four quarter finals in the tournament for MGPW Grand Championship. As if on cue, Kashmir Singh comes surrounded by a host of wrestlers.

Segment: Sensationals cometh

KbG10sgs.jpgrzInqOis.jpgnuynJors.jpgvDncUUYs.jpg9nuuarss.jpg

Kashmir: Hello Mumbai and everybody following us on our official YouTube channel, we are live and kicking in the heart of this beautiful industrious city. You have long been known for being the innovator of trends and cultures in the country and tonight you get a chance to soar once again as India’s premier wrestling organization, MGPW takes flight.

(Loud cheers and applause, as loud as 50 odd people can do)

And now, i want to introduce you to this fabulous group, who will take this promotion by storm. Please welcome “The Crusher” Kolkata Jai, “The Prince of Squared Circle” Rupy, Arush Sarja and Parvin Kishan and yours truly, The Sensational One.

Please welcome The Sensationals.

Now if you see, four of us have earned a spot in the Grand Championship tournament with the scheduling team making a real blunder giving the main event spot against Bali Daljit to Kumar Kong of all people. I mean really, you think that fossil is a better match than The Prince of Squared Circle?? (scoffs) Anyways, I fully believe that myself and Jai will contest the finals. So, see for yourself in the opening bout how Jai and Parvin Kishan fights like hell. Although Kishan is still green, he can go.

Rating: 25

Kishan Tahil and our guest commentator Kumar Kong discuss the fact that Kashmir didn’t quite hype Kishan and Sarja, almost downplaying them like a couple of extras.

Grand Championship Tournament QF: Kolkata Jai vs Parvin Kishan

KbG10sgs.jpgKfND71Bs.jpg9nuuarss.jpg

Jai did not had the stamina to go for a 12+ minute match and Kishan was left to do most of the work to make this one bearable. A couple of memorable spots later, Jai finished it with a Kolkata Slam (Choke Slam).

Rating: 14

Post Match Segment: Jai attacks Kishan

After losing his mind as to how Kishan took him to distance, Jai goes nuts and slams Kishan with 2 consecutive Kolkata Slams before Arush Sarja runs in to save the day.

Rating: 5

Announcer: The group did not last long, did they??

Grand Championship Tournament QF: Arush Sarja vs Bollywood Baljit Avatar

vDncUUYs.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgKEf2eS6s.jpg

Baljit comes down to the ring fully dressed up like a Bollywood superstar and he did have the physique for it but Sarja was in no mood to play as he unloaded with a string of chops and haymakers. After a while when the bout flowed evenly between the two, Sarja finished it off with a Sensational Drop (springboard diving headbutt)

Rating: 11

Grand Championship Tournament QF: Kashmir Singh vs Rahul Venkatesh

nuynJors.jpgKfND71Bs.jpg6VgDDQTs.jpg

This bout was better than what people expected, mainly due to Kashmir’s involvement. Venkatesh is nothing but a relentless bumping machine and he took some crazy dives to wow the crowd like a throwing himself like a catapault revolving ball on Kashmir on the steel barricade where Singh moved in the nick of time and the bump machine crashed. A Kashmir clutch (inverted Indian deathlock) followed and it was time to move forward with the show.

Rating: 20

Grand Championship Tournament QF: Bali Daljit vs Kumar Kong

jGyr6Qas.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgyoBLq8Qs.jpg

Our guest commentator left his position and faced the current SNP midcarder, Bali Daljit. With Daljit already battle-seasoned in the tough yards of Scotland, he took no time in wearing down the Indian veteran with some sick fast paced aerial offense. As soon as he saw Kong gasping for his breath, he hit the Fire Starter (Shooting Star Press)

Rating: 12

Post Match Segment: Sensationals Explode

As soon as Daljit had his hand raised, Kashmir arrives on the entrance staring daggers at Daljit. Just then, out of nowhere Jai and Rupy comes from behind and starts raining offense against Daljit. Kashmir screams them to soften him up so that he can beat him easily next week in the semi-finals but Parvin Kishan and Arush Sarja sprints towards the ring with chairs in their hands and Rupy and Jai leaves, perhaps fearing for their own safety.

Kishan
:
Mr. Kashmir, you were once the guardian for us. You had trained myself and Sarja and took care of us so much that we considered you as our father figure. But tonight, you crossed that line, you dismissed us like a bunch of nobodies. You didn’t even care to give a proper introduction and then your goons first try to manhandle me and now you are beating your next week’s opponent?? Really?? Is this the Kashmir Singh we have come to admire??

Sarja
:
Not at all and please remember one thing Mr. Singh, that we were your original graduates and we are still the best at what we do. So, starting from tonight, we are no more The Sensationals, we are The Originals.

Rating: 20

</p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">So, the 1st show was booked. There was some dissent amongst our fans that how can we break up a stable which has just been formed in the show itself. </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Well, the truth is we had to start with a bang and the biggest point of this promotion so far is me and my academy graduates. So, to create an impact, we needed that to be a focal point and so we already had the ready made history of Parvin Kishan and Arush Sarja being the first ever two graduates who are also best friends in real life. Bali Daljit looked good and he is set to become an established player in our main event.</div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"> </div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;">

Episode 2

Location: Bandra Kurla Auditorium, Attendance: 60

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:darkblack;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Just like last week our show opens with our commentary team hyping up the two semi-final matches in the Grand Championship tournament. They also discuss the big event from the last week where we saw the new group Sensationals forming and then exploding with Parvin Kishan and Arush Sarja walking out.

And again on cue, Kashmir Singh walks out flanked by his boys, Rupy and Jai

Segment: Sensationals tear into Originals

KbG10sgs.jpgrzInqOis.jpgnuynJors.jpg

Kashmir
:
So, i have come here to make some serious talk. Parvin Kishan and Arush Sarja, you made the biggest mistake of your life last show when you turned your back on us. You think tagging yourself Originals will make you the poster boys of this movement. You can give yourself whatever name you want jerks but I am still the boss around here and you won’t even lace up my boots even if you tried with all your might. Just like Jai dismantled Kishan last week, he will do the same to you Sarja and when I have defeated Bali Daljit, we will be the final two remaining, just as i had announced at the start. So, Mumbai rejoice as the Sensationals are in the house.

Bullet Babu Menon/Kumar Kong vs Rahul Venkatesh/Mean Streets Mohan

The two veterans made short work of the young and sloppy Rahul and Mohan with Babu Menon winning the pinfall with a Point Blank (discuss lariat) over Venkatesh. Mohan looked good in parts with some quick and harsh kicks on Kong.

Prince Rupy vs Bollywood Baljit Avatar

rzInqOis.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgKEf2eS6s.jpg

A poor match with two very green persons in the ring. Baljit entertained the crowd with his bollywood shenanigans as he came down to the ring on a cycle with a black mask resembling a very famous character but Rupy was disgusted with him and after a couple of hard slaps on the floor and a low blow while the ref is not looking, Rupy finishes this off with a Rupy Rider (T-Bone suplex).

Segment: Backstage Attack

Kishan is travelling to the Originals designated area to talk with his partner when out of nowhere, Kolkata Jai comes in and smashes his head on the door. He then grounds and pounds him into near unconsciousness. Sarja comes in to the rescue and then Jai retreats while screaming that he will give the same treatment to him next.

Grand Championship Tournament Semi-Final: Arush Sarja vs Kolkata Jai

The match started as usual with Jai creating havoc on Sarja’s body and making him screaming in pain but his tenacity pulls him through as he keeps coming back even after taking punishment and even grabs the bottom rope after a Kolkata Slam to break the pinfall. After a while Jai begins to tire and then Sarja springs in action, taking turns in further softening him up with some painful holds and vicious boots to the head and then delivers the Sensational Drop (springboard diving headbutt) on a prone Jai to pick the win and retreats swiftly to check out his partner who is lying unconscious in backstage.

Grand Championship Tournament Semi Final: Kashmir Singh vs Bali Daljit

nuynJors.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgjGyr6Qas.jpg

Kashmir comes into the match seething with anger after seeing Sarja picking up the win and he was in no mood to jaw jack with the 60 odd attendees as he heads straight to the ring and gets ready for the fight. As the two best wrestlers in the roster as of now, this felt like a good match. Both went all out in their efforts and used all their experiences to make up for a deserving main event. After a couple of quick pin attempts from both, Kashmir takes the upper hand and slaps on the Kashmir Clutch (inverted Indian deathlock) but Bali manages to wriggle free before a couple of elbows to the face of Kashmir reverses the momentum. The bout flows evenly before a facebuster on a running Kashmir dashes his hopes of a revival. A Fire Starter (Shooting Star Press) follows and The Sensationals have drawn a blank.

Show Send-off Segment: Exchange of Words

\

KbG10sgs.jpgrzInqOis.jpgnuynJors.jpgjGyr6Qas.jpg

The Sensationals gang up on Bali Daljit after the match but out of nowhere chairs get thrown in the ring and Parvin and Sarja runs in through the crowd to even the numbers. After seeing that they are compromised, Kashmir instructs his team to retreat.

Sarja
:
What happened Boss?? Not feeling confident anymore?? Your so called prophecy that you had seen has just drawn a complete blank. Any other words of wisdom?? Come on, we are all ears.

Kashmir
:
Don’t boast so much you jerk. This was a small slip on our part but needless to say, we will be back in the hunt but first we will make sure that you two go running back to the same dumping ground that i took you out from and your mouth runs dry and your only job remaining will be to beg and plead with me.

Kishan
:
We would love to see you try but beware, you have three fingers pointing back at you so never be so sure of your actions.

Kashmir loses it and almost maniacally starts screaming insults as the show closes.

So, the 1st month was over. We have decided to run two shows until such time that we don't get a TV show.

As i was pondering over the ideas for booking next show, an email pops up on my laptop which grabs my attention. If you get an email from your boss, that's your 1st priority, isn't it??

: Booking Plan for Avatar

Hi Kashmir,

Hope this mail finds you in good spirits. I have been impressed with the two shows that you have booked so far. The roster is pretty good upto this point and i have full faith that you will continue to work to unlock their full potential and take this organization to new heights. Although since just 55 - 60 odd people on our shows is making me cringe. I mean i get around 300 studio attendance in all my broadcasted talk shows on my channel. So, i hope this number increases soon.

Next, when we met first, i had asked you to take care of my two sons who are wrestling fanatics. You have kept the promise by giving both of them the spot on the roster but what about Bollywood Baljit?? So far he has lost both the matches he has fought in. I thought you was supposed to build him up as the focal point of the company. Is this how you build stars?? It puts a big question mark on your abilities, Mr. Singh and i hope you rectify it soon.

Regards

Rajiv Avatar

Well, my mind went blank. I mean it's just two shows boss. Cut me some slack. What do you expect me to do?? Strap a rocket to him. I mean he is good but he still needs work.

Also, i need some few foreign workers as we have a pretty small roster to work with and the best thing to start with was to scout the dojos for unemployed workers. As i started looking around, one name jumped at me. WWA, the chain of dojos around the world.

Episode 3

Location: Bandra Kurla Auditorium, Attendance: 60

<div style="background-color:#ffffff;color:darkblack;border-style:solid;border-width:3px";">Our temporary home, the BKC auditorium welcomes us yet again with exactly the same people in attendance as last show.

Kishan Tahil
:
Welcome to the newest wrestling show which is taking the city by storm. Welcome to Wrestle Nights. And to start off, we have a pre-recorded video from Bollywood Baljit Avatar of all people.

Kumar Kong
:
Somebody has tampered the video so it is just a bunch of static right now but what he meant to say was he is a Bollywood star so losing just does not suit him. So, tonight he will wrestle not just one but two matches and win both to show the crowd that the real star of MGPW is Bollywood Baljit Avatar.

Kishan Tahil
:
So, we go straight away to the first match which, if you have not figured out yet, features Mr. Avatar of course. Wonder who tampered with his video though??

Bollywood Baljit Avatar vs Rahul Venkatesh

KEf2eS6s.jpgKfND71Bs.jpg6VgDDQTs.jpg

A poor opening match with the bump machine, Venkatesh breaking his nose while going for a suicide dive. A Bollywood Special #1 (Scorpion Death Drop) followed and Avatar notches up his 1st win of his career.

Well, Avatar wins a match for a change and he has another one lined up but before that my commentary partner, Kong goes for his match. He is liking the tag team action and we have got official confirmation that him and Bullet are teaming up as Old Guard, the official protector of Indian values.

Old Guard(Bullet Babu Menon/Kumar Kong) vs Tejas Zutshi/Mean Streets Mohan

ghaKSKUs.jpg?1yoBLq8Qs.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgHhBPb7Bs.jpg1tuorSYs.jpg

Mohan teamed up with newcomer Tejas Zutshi and right from the start, their chemistry showed as they pulled out some slick tag moves like pro but the combined experience of Menon and Kong was too much to handle for them. After some heavy haymakers from Menon on Zutshi, he tagged in Kong who had incapacitate Mohan till then. Kong finishes this off with the Kong Crusher (Alex Riley’s Final Score)

Segment: Vicious attack by mystery men

As the Old Guard were having their hands raised, the arena suddenly went dark. After some time, which felt like eternity, the lights came back on and we saw Kong and Menon being grabbed by their throat by two Japanese behemoths who were being instructed upon by another beast who liked like a savage Viking warrior. The two Japanese then proceeded to deliver stereo chokeslams which looked devastating and the three slowly exits the ring before the volunteers and medical stuff rush to take care of the two fallen bodies.

Bollywood Baljit Avatar vs Jay Silver

KEf2eS6s.jpgKfND71Bs.jpgaVXFMqKs.jpg

Bollywood was gassing from his previous match but he still put down the debutant Jay Silver who looked green but had some good talking points in the match and he sold the offense pretty well. This time he finished it with a Bollywood Special #2 (GTS). He jaw jacks with the crowd afterwards screaming his name while going back.

Time for our main event but good to see that my colleague has come back. Kong, welcome back mate but have you fished out any information as to who those three people were.

Kumar Kong
:
Thanks Kishan. So far, i haven’t got any answers but i fully intend to atone them for their sins and next show, me and my partner will be calling them out and see if they have balls.

Kishan Tahil
:
Now is the time though for the big 6 man tag with The Sensationals taking on The Originals and Bali Daljit. But with Daljit and Sarja supposed to fight for the Grand Championship soon, can they co-exist.

Sensationals(Kashmir Singh/Prince Rupy/Kolkata Jai) vs Originals(Parvin Kishan/Arush Sarja) & Bali Daljit

nuynJors.jpgrzInqOis.jpgKbG10sgs.jpgtDzOsNDs.jpg9nuuarss.jpgvDncUUYs.jpgjGyr6Qas.jpg

This match was an all out brawl. With Daljit surprisingly working well with the Originals, they isolated the big man Kolkata first and put him to task with lots of aerial offenses and painful submission moves. A desparate tag to Prince Rupy changed the momentum a little as he came in hard on Kishan and Sarja while Kolkata pulled Daljit outside and knocked him with a big boot while the ref was looking elsewhere.

Another cheat tag to Kashmir and a low blow later, Kashmir slapped on the Kashmir Clutch on Parvin Kishan and he was unable to get out of it giving a huge win to the heels.

Show Send-off Segment: Big Brawl

Just as the doctor had ordered and everyone was expecting, the big brawl between the six broke out all over the fight area but in the end it was Sarja and Bali Daljit who were the two men standing in the ring having run their opponents and they indulged in an intense staredown sending the fans happy.
