[Beta Release] Risky Business(January 1985)

I'm in no way rushing Jaysin because I'd much rather this mod be excellent than rushed and buggy, and I know you said you don't have an ETA, but do you have a rough guess at least when you think the mod may be ready? Next week? Next Month? Next year?

 

I ask because I'm honestly waiting for this mod to hit before purchasing the game, and if Jaysin expects it's going to be awhile, I may start with another mod. I just didn't want to get heavily involved in a mod for a few days and then this one comes out lol.

I'd recommend starting with another mod. My state is ending it's pandemic shutdown and I'll be back to two jobs so my free time will be scarce. Still plugging away though.

 

I went through WWF's roster and it looks like the converter did a pretty good job on attributes, but I'll be adding more. Then I'll go to JCP and do the same thing.

 

I'm torn on what to do with the NWA World title. On one hand, JCP was it's home for the mid-late 80s, but Flair did defend it elsewhere.

 

I also have WCW as a yet to debut promotion, so leaving the NWA title as JCP's primary title gives them their own main event belt when competition hits.

 

Anyone have a preference?

Sadly you can't use narratives or anything to make the belt belong to someone else.

Jokes aside, I really hope you didn't. I really enjoy the "what if" scenarios that playing old databases offer, it's the whole point I play them Even if I don't recruit certain people, I enjoy seeing what they do in other territories.

My biggest problem with this mod in 16 was that workers would sign like 6 different contracts with different companies because they're all PPA and non-exclusive, when in real life they would only be working for one company at a time. Hopefully the new contract system in 20 makes that work better.

Same thing happened in just about every other old school mod because of the old contract system. In fact, I seem to remember asking folks back when I worked on the mod what to do to try to keep the Von Erichs from signing elsewhere. Yet on the other hand, we wanted the option to be there if someone wanted to sign one of them up.</p>

In fact, I seem to remember asking folks back when I worked on the mod what to do to try to keep the Von Erichs from signing elsewhere. I'm thinking put everyone on exclusive handshake deals, or something like that, might be the solution in 20.

 

I wish there was a way to tune the game so that during this time period workers would only take exclusive deals.

Yea I think handshake deals. Then a bidding war will happen between most workers but at least it gives us the option of trying to land some guys we want. If you think certain wouldnt leave in real life maybe give them loyalty, that way people can edit it out if they desire.

Now that Jaysin has taken over the project, I'm sure he'll add him, if he hasn't already. Jobbers I can admit is something I should've added more of in past projects.</p>

I missed TEW2016, but was Mario Mancini in this mod in '16? The guy was an A-Tier jobber in the WWF for close to a decade.

 

I've honestly never heard of him, but I'll see if he's in the data when I work on it tonight. Going to go through WWF workers again and assign attributes that I missed in the first pass.

 

Not sure how to handle Demolition alter ego for Moondog Rex. I already have Barry Darsow with a Demolition Smash alter ego, should I give Rex one too?

 

In a few test saves JCP gets to medium and signs Darsow to a long term deal to keep him as Krusher so I want the user a chance to do Demolition even if Darsow gets locked into a deal elsewhere.

I'd say give him the alter ego as I'm sure he used as version of it in a few terrorities when he left WWF.
