USPW: America's Gift To The World...

Recommended Posts

<p>Rich Money © vs. <strong>Rick Law </strong>- USPW World Championship</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">I don't think Rick will get the title here, but I do think he will get a rematch. I think it'll either be a "dusty finish" or a draw -- or possibly a clean win. </span></p><p>

<strong>Alicia Strong ©</strong> vs. Sara Marie - USPW Womens Championship</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Face contender(s) usually mean Heel champ.</span></p><p>

<strong>Jett & Moor ©</strong> vs. The Texas Express - USPW World Tag Team Championships</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">My hunch is that The Texas Express aren't ready for the straps... yet. </span></p><p>

Gorgon vs. <strong>Pariah</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Pariah has too much momentum to lose here.</span></p><p>

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. <strong>Steve Frehley</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Frehley is just way more over right now.</span></p><p>

<strong>Hawkeye & Wolf (Nicky Champion & Running Wolf)</strong> vs. The Sharpshooters (Kirk Jameson & Trent Shaffer)</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">I don't think this will be clean, but it will probably be a win.</span></p><p>

<strong>Joss Thompson</strong> vs. Tyson Baine</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Thompson has just too much potential to job out here.</span></p><p>

Natural Storm vs. <strong>The Cold Warriors</strong></p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">We need "heel challengers" and The Natural Storm seem to be headed towards a split anyway. I think The Cold Warriors will get one last shot. </span></p><p>

<strong>Roger Cage ©</strong> Open Challenge - USPW National Championship [Pre-Show Match]</p><p>

<span style="font-size:8px;">Probably a squash, though it could start a storyline.</span></p>

Pariah seemed to be favouring her ribs, while the back of Gorgon was her main source of discomfort. Aware that each other had a weakness, the two competitors targeted these spots, and were both taken off their natural game as a result. Pariah started well, desperate to get revenge on Gorgon, who cost her the chance to beat Alicia Strong fair and square, 10 nights ago. The incisive offence of Pariah served her well early on in the match, but a repeat of that night saw the tables turned.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> As Pariah dived from the inside of the ring to the outside, looking to take Gorgon down, the monstrous former Womens Champion caught her. Gorgon drove Pariah ribs first into the Steel Post, before dropping her onto the guardrail, once again targeting the mid section. Gorgon returned to the ring first, and Pariah was only able to avoid the countout by less than a second. The larger competitor was straight back on top of her opponent, and Gorgon set up for a “Hydra Bomb” (Crucifix Powerbomb). The move that started this rivalry, could have been the one to end it, had Pariah not slipped out of the back. From here, Pariah looked to lock in the “Lullabye” (Kata-Ha-Jime), but Gorgon’s size made it much more difficult than usual.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Gorgon and Pariah continued to struggle, Pariah desperate to put Alicia Strong’s newest associate to sleep, and to send a message to the USPW Womens Champion. Gorgon showed great strength as Pariah refused to release her grip, and drove “The Lone Wolf” into the turnbuckle. Despite this, Pariah still maintained her position, remaining on the back of the former USPW Womens Champion. Gorgon’s only hope, as she appeared to begin to fade, was to climb to the second turnbuckle, carrying her opponent’s weight, and drop backward on top of Pariah. When she did this, Pariah finally had to release her grip, and both women laid on the canvas.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Gorgon remained on top of Pariah in this position, with both women looking up at the lights. Moving first, as the referee got in position to count a unique pinfall “attempt”, Pariah quickly recovered from the landing, and reapplied the “Lullabye” (Kata-Ha-Jime). Both women were on the canvas, and Gorgon no longer had the strength to return to her feet. Gorgon battled back to a seated position, but it simply wasn’t enough. Eventually, Gorgon stopped struggling, and became unresponsive. The referee’s only choice then, was to call for the bell!</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Winner:</strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Pariah (referee stoppage in 9:58)</span></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Following the victory, Pariah’s arm was raised in the air. That friendship would be put aside for the match however, as the commentators questioned if the inexperienced Texas Express could pick up the first title victory of their careers. While they don’t have the same number of years in USPW as Jett & Moor, they have worked many more matches as a team than the World Tag Team Champions. Seemingly turning his back on the dark side, Tyson Baine appears for the first time in his USPW career, to be looking out for someone other than himself or his Titans teammate T-Rex. Since the reemergence, Joss Thompson has done everything in his power to avoid Tyson Baine. Many put this down to a fear of “The Angel of Death”, but Thompson insists that this isn’t the case. Laying down his perspective during an interview with Danny Jillefski, Joss Thompson said that Tyson Baine was a “fraud”, and claimed that his avoidance of him was down to that. Not many people were buying the idea that Joss Thompson wasn’t afraid of Tyson Baine, until it was revealed that it was “The Complete Package” himself, who had requested this match at Red, White & Blue!</em></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> From the moment that Tyson Baine began to make his entrance however, Joss Thompson once again appeared to want nothing to do with him. This back and forth, between being up for the fight and then suddenly not, continued to confuse the commentators. As the match began however, this appeared to be a deliberate tactic to tire the veteran figure, with Joss Thompson showing off his cardiovascular advantage by giving “The Angel of Death” the runaround. Quickly growing weary of this, Baine decided to simply stand his ground in the ring, encouraging Thompson to come and face him.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Instead of focussing on his opponent, Joss Thompson decided to pick an argument with a fan at ringside. The man told Joss Thompson to get back in the ring, and Thompson in turn told him that he’d get in the ring, when the man did. This was a clear delay tactic, and it did buy him a few more seconds. Eventually, Joss Thompson did return to the ring, but the fan wisely didn’t follow. When the two finally engaged physically, Tyson Baine took control of the match, with Joss Thompson flying all across the ring, as Baine remained largely stationary. The powerful offence of Baine appeared to surprise Joss Thompson, who perhaps expected him to have lost a lot of his explosiveness in his time away. He hadn’t, and scored a nearfall following a Chokeslam to “The Complete Package”.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Joss Thompson had to go back to the drawing board, and did so successfully, as he began to turn the tide in the match. From there, it became a much more back and forth affair, with Joss Thompson gaining more and more ground as Baine began to tire. The athletic and arrogant Thompson began to run rings around Tyson Baine, and despite there always being the threat of a big power move from Baine, he wore “The Angel of Death” down.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Tyson Baine’s final flurry saw him struggle to lay a glove on Joss Thompson, and a vicious European Uppercut put him on jelly legs. What Brandon saw as him sticking up for Chris Caulfield, Frehley took to be Smith getting "ideas above his station". An attack the following week put Smith out for two weeks, but "The Bulldozer" wouldn't be kept down. When the contest got underway, this fighting spirit was evident, as Smith took the fight to Frehley early on. As billed, this match was the most physical of the night so far, a "wild brawl" that went all around the ringside area. Eventually, the referee had to get things back under control, and with the threat of the match being thrown out, both men complied. </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> From here, Brandon and Frehley remained on an even footing, but eventually, the famed "ruthlessness" of Steve Frehley took hold of the match. Once Frehley was in control, as is almost always the case, he refused to allow it to be wrestled away. Now able to break down his sizable opponent, Frehley went for the kill. While Smith avoided a first "Dark Destroyer Spear", a subsequent attempt to hit the "Bulldozer's Blade" (Back Drop Driver), resulted in him receiving a stiff back elbow to the temple. Brandon was rocked, and Frehley took advantage. Winning the vacant title at Stars, Stripes & Slams, Alicia Strong has once again proved that there is no level she will not stoop to, in order to remain the top dog in USPW. On the episode of American Wrestling after Strong had controversially won the title, she found herself seconds away from being defeated by Pariah, the woman many felt had deserved to win the title at Stars, Stripes & Slams. The involvement of The Muscle Monsters - who both laid their hands on referee Baby Jamie - saved her, but resulted in them being barred from ringside for all future Alicia Strong matches.</em></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><em> </em></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><em> Of course, Strong had a “plan B”, and when Pariah got another non-title opportunity to face the Champion, Gorgon emerged, shockingly aligning with “The Sensational One”. Perhaps Alicia’s most despicable act yet, Wednesday’s American Wrestling saw her push both Pariah AND Gorgon from the stage to the ground below. The commentators did their best to put over the threat of Sara Marie, a former Womens Champion herself, but they too mostly spoke about the increasingly questionable actions of Alicia Strong. Once the match got going, Sara Marie clearly felt she had something to go out and prove, and with Gorgon almost certainly in no state to get involved, she did get a fair shot at the Womens Championship. What followed was an evenly contested, back and forth match, with both competitors coming close to victory on a number of occasions. One thing it is easy to forget with Alicia Strong, is that despite all her shenanigans and shortcuts, she is still undoubtedly one of the best wrestlers in the world. This is what she showed as the match went on.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> When it came to the finish, Sara Marie briefly looked the most likely to walk away as the winner, but Alicia avoided an “Energy Burst” (Shining Wizard) attempt, and drove Sara Marie into the turnbuckle. Having taken issue with Nicky Champion using the move last month against Steve Frehley, Alicia Strong hit Sara Marie with a “Strong-Arm Tactic” (Running Forearm) of her own, as the challenger staggered back towards the center of the ring. That move, which had won her father so many Championship matches in years gone by, was enough to end the contest. A clean, decisive victory for Alicia Strong.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Winner and </strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong><em>still</em></strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong> USPW Womens Champion:</strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Alicia Strong (pinfall in 15:02; 1st successful defence)</span></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Comfortably the longest match of the night so far, Alicia Strong stood tall in the ring, raising the Womens Championship high in the air. There has been an outpouring of sympathy for Rick since he revealed his recent struggles, and this translated into support from the USPW fans. Rich Money on the other hand, couldn’t care less about the people, and is an expert at exploiting any weakness in an opponent. Rich Money clearly felt so in control during the match, that the ultra-focussed USPW World Champion began to have a little bit of fun. This was the first time we’d seen Rich Money smile in a very long time, but without his usual back-up plan, he refused to take his eye off the ball. Eventually, Rick Law turned to sheer brute force, battling his way to gain some footing in the match. These small slithers of hope brought the crowd back into the match, and there was a great reaction from them throughout the contest.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> From here, things snowballed, and Rich Money could feel his grasp on the match loosening. You can do it!</span></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Rick Law did get Rich Money back in the ring, but the USPW World Champion poked him in the eye. Money smirked, and thought he had put the fire out, but Law kept it stepping. Rich Money was overwhelmed by Rick Law for the next few minutes, and with the Champion down, Rick signalled for the “Long Arm of The Law” (Lariat Clothesline). Everybody in the building knew what was coming next, apart from Rich Money. As Rich dragged himself up by the ropes, Sterling Whitlock grabbed his mentor’s head, and said something in his ear. Money rolled himself to the outside, and rested on the apron, safe from Rick Law’s signature move. This was where the crucial mistake was made.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> “The Enforcer” was desperate to get Rich Money back in the ring, but arguably moved too soon. Going between the top and middle ropes, Rick wanted to drag his opponent towards him, but got caught out. Rich Money was able to grab Law’s head, and drove his throat into the second-rope, sending him back towards the middle of the ring. Sterling Whitlock’s presence had proved vital, and without getting involved physically, he’d completely changed the course of the match.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-size:8px;"><strong>Emily McQueen:</strong></span></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-size:8px;"> And if anybody is wondering why Sterling was spared the chop from Rich Money’s employ, that’s your answer. The young man was right on the </span></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-size:8px;"><em>money</em></span></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-size:8px;">, when Rich needed him the most.</span></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Ultimately, that was the game changer. Rick Law had done everything he could, but Rich Money’s “network”, even at reduced manpower, has always been the difference between the two. The harsh lesson for Rick Law tonight, was that doing things the right way, doesn’t always win you the day. Rich Money had the challenger right where he wanted him, and a “Money In The Bank” (High Lift German Suplex) put Rick Law down. Robbie Sanchez counted the 1… 2… 3, and Rich Money had retained the title.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong>Winner and </strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong><em>still</em></strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><strong> USPW World Champion:</strong></span></span></div></div></div></div></div><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Rich Money (pinfall in 14:41; 9th successful defence)</span></span></div></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><p></p><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> </span></span></div></div></div></div></div><p></p><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><div style="margin-left:25px;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> Grabbing the Championship from the timekeeper’s table, Sterling Whitlock quickly joined Rich Money in the ring, handing the World Title to his mentor. I wish we could be telling you a different story tonight, but what more can we say. I hope this isn’t it for Rick Law and his chase of the World Championship, but we’re going to have to wait until we’re all back together on Wednesday night to find out. As always, it’s exclusively right here on Reverie… don’t forget to join us, for USPW American Wrestling. From myself, Emily and Belle… this was Red, White & Blue 2020. Sterling Whitlock stands to the side of his mentor, as Rick Law walks up the ramp. Rick keeps his head down, an exit reminiscent of Nicky Champion’s at Thanksgiving Thunder 2019. At the time, many took that moment as a sign that Champion’s USPW career may be coming to an end. On USPW American Wrestling, we’ll find out where Rick Law’s head is at, and what the future holds for the man who called tonight his “last chance” to become the USPW World Champion.</span></span></div></div></div></div></div></div></blockquote>

Rich Money © vs. Rick Law - USPW World Championship

Poor poor Rick. The interview with DJ yet again put him over as a sympathetic face I wanted to win. And it's interesting thought really how both went to different promotions from USPW and how they did there completely changed how they were perceived on their returns. I can imagine this ending in a heel turn, I know RM needs new muscle so perhaps he does the unthinkable. I can't decide whether this will actually be it for Rick Law ever getting the world title but I think either way his character will be a strong one going forward.

Alicia Strong © vs. Sara Marie - USPW Womens Championship

I liked the story here, nice to remind us that Strong is still a great competitor irregardless of her recent tactics.

Jett & Moor © vs. The Texas Express - USPW World Tag Team Championships

No surprises here, J&M getting built up for a bigger challenge.

Gorgon vs. Pariah

I really liked the finish to this, was able to put Pariah over without hurting Gorgon too much.

Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Steve Frehley

Happy to see BBS keep up although part of me wanted to see the update

Hawkeye & Wolf (Nicky Champion & Running Wolf) vs. The Sharpshooters (Kirk Jameson & Trent Shaffer)

Keeping us guessing with Casey in this storyline. I wonder what could be next for SS after such a decisive loss.

Joss Thompson vs. Tyson Baine

Good win for Joss, intrigued whether the lights cutting out is still linked to Tyson, or whether he has just been used as a gateaway to a bigger threat which seems more likely now.

Natural Storm vs. The Cold Warriors

Glad I called this, definitely also keeping us guessing with NS.

Roger Cage © Open Challenge - USPW National Championship [Pre-Show Match]

I actually didn't know Black had joined USPW, will be interesting what you do with him. I imagine he's getting fairly old now but always seems to be featured in other promotions/diaries.

My response in bold :)

I worried I may have gone overboard with making him look a bit too much like a loser, but then again, it is kind of the story. I feel like Rick and Rich being originals who jumped ship and then returned within a couple of months of each other is a really great story within the C-Verse. As for them working together, you're right, it surely is unthinkable given their history ;)

Alicia Strong © vs. Sara Marie - USPW Womens Championship

I liked the story here, nice to remind us that Strong is still a great competitor irregardless of her recent tactics.

I don't think anybody would've seen Sara Marie winning this, but I suppose most title runs have "filler feuds". The fact Alicia cheats and is so insecure, despite being so good, hopefully makes her all the more dastardly :)

Jett & Moor © vs. The Texas Express - USPW World Tag Team Championships

No surprises here, J&M getting built up for a bigger challenge.

Gorgon vs. Pariah

I really liked the finish to this, was able to put Pariah over without hurting Gorgon too much.

Gorgon was kind of a throwaway monster for her to go over initially, but when fleshing out the dynamic between Alicia and Gorgon, I think there's more of a story to tell. Gorgon is still a monster, but is breaking down a little in her old age, so I wanted to put over Pariah, but also show that Gorgon isn't what she once was. This gives more justification for her working with Alicia. If she was still the unstoppable monster, there'd be no reason for her to be Alicia's lackey. Now, she is still good enough to serve a purpose for Alicia, but isn't so effective that it makes no sense why she'd act as a second to somebody who she has beaten in the past.

Casey is a changed man, just because he's a Valentine, doesn't mean he's secretly plotting to screw Champion and Wolf over. Cut him some slack, he's a good guy :) as for The Sharpshooters, it's not a good start for them, but I do have hope for them coming out of this.

Joss Thompson vs. Tyson Baine

Good win for Joss, intrigued whether the lights cutting out is still linked to Tyson, or whether he has just been used as a gateaway to a bigger threat which seems more likely now.

This will be followed up on at American Wrestling, but I'm a big fan of Joss Thompson. The idea is that he's become a bit of a laughing stock in recent months (including before the start of the year) and the story will be him regaining the credibility he once had as USPW World Champion. It still surprises me that he had that run, so in my mind he kind of had that "Jack Swagger" type reign, where he didn't quite connect as Champion. But I am a big fan, and we'll see where it goes from there.

Natural Storm vs. The Cold Warriors

Glad I called this, definitely also keeping us guessing with NS.

Greg & Grandmaster Phunk were two interesting additions to the roster for 2020. I've not been able to fit either of them in to my booking plans so far, but from here, Greg Black is at least back in the fold!

Spoiler Report:
Results From USPW FTR’s March Taping!

jKMtmME.jpgU7xJ786.jpgq953vn8.jpg

USPW “development program” begins tournament to crown first Champion!

The following report comes from a TotalExtremeWrestling.com contributor, who was present at the second set of “USPW: FTR” tapings. This report contains spoilers for the next four episodes of the USPW Plus exclusive show, and the show order is per the information given to fans on the day. Given the nature of the shows, things may change between now and the broadcast.

Episode #1
  • Joanne Rodriguez opened the show, cutting a promo to introduce the Women’s Championship to USPW FTR. This would be the first title crowned in the company, and J-Ro put over the history of Women’s Wrestling in USPW. She said that a tournament would begin in the opening contest of the night, and over the next 7 weeks, 8 would become 1, and USPW FTR would crown their first Champion.

  • Fuyuko Higa squashed Sabrina Wells
in the opening match of the tournament, establishing her as a top contender to the title. A Cross Arm Breaker caused Wells to tap very quickly, and Higa did well in a pretty limited match. After her victory, Higa said a few words in Japanese.

  • During the night we got a couple of promos for the “main event” of the first episode, one showing Anthony Trask and Funky Fedora bickering over who should follow the other’s lead, and one with Kip Keenan and Fro Sure, who were getting on like a house on fire.

  • Ernest Youngman
cut a promo on his way to the ring, dismissing the hype around the Women’s Championship, saying that when the Men’s title was announced… he’d be the first Champion! Youngman then
    defeated Pepper Pelton
in convincing fashion. This wasn’t a good match, but a lot of that could be put on Pepper Pelton, who really isn’t ready for TV of any description.

  • Prime Tyme Jack Pride beat Jason Patterson
    .

  • Christy Higgins and Hellcat Hernandez promos aired, discussing their rematch “next week” in the first round of the tournament.

  • Kip Keenan & Fro Sure defeated Anthony Trask & Funky Fedora
as the main event of the first episode. Fro Sure pinned Funky Fedora. Keenan & Fro Sure celebrated after the match, while Anthony Trask caused a scene with his partner to end the episode.

<hr color=red><hr color=white><hr color=blue>
Episode #2
  • Mr. Lucha Tres defeated Yuta Isono
in the opener. This is a match type that USPW fans really aren’t used to seeing, but maybe indicates more of the company’s future direction. Both men are clearly hugely talented, but it may take a while before this type of match is “the new normal” in the company.

  • Anthony Trask was interviewed, and blew off some steam about the defeat “last week” to Kip Keenan & Fro Sure. He blamed Funky Fedora, and said that he deserved to be surrounded by real stars.

  • Demolition Drebin & Juggernaut Jones defeated Landon Mallory & Roger Monteiro
, with Roger taking the fall. This followed up on the storyline from last month, and put over the two monsters in their debut as a team.

  • Captain Australia
cut a babyface promo, before being cut off by Texas Hangman. The Captain
    defeated Texas Hangman
immediately afterwards. Given the fact that many of these workers are complete unknowns, it can be difficult to keep the fans engaged. The charisma of Captain Australis shone through however, and is a testament to his ability.

  • Christy Higgins beat Hellcat Hernandez
for the second time, this match being probably a little bit worse than their first. Higgins advances to the final four.

  • After the match, Killer Kass made an unadvertised appearance, confronting Christy Higgins. Presumably (and based on events later in the night), this was the reveal of a mystery competitor in the Women's Championship Tournament.

<hr color=red><hr color=white><hr color=blue>
Episode #3
  • La Estrella beat Toro De Oro
, grabbing a handful of tights in the process. The style of this match was once again very different to what one is used to seeing in USPW. However, given the ability of the two men, it will surely catch on eventually, perhaps bringing a different audience to the company. With Pablo Rodriguez running wrestling operations for Reverie, it is unsurprising to see the company looking to build some stars for the Mexican audience.

  • The Puerto Rican Boys (Island Boy Apollo & Kid San Juan) beat two local talents, “Fearless Blue” and “Mucus Lucas”
. It was a squash match, but interestingly Fearless Blue and Kid San Juan do have some history together, having worked for cult backyard promotion XDW years ago.

  • A strangely named “Captain’s Couch” segment followed that, with Captain USA interviewing Anthony Trask. The Traskmaster spoke about how he was better than everybody else in the USPW FTR locker room, and he was going to be the first Champion. Captain USA introduced a “special guest”, USPW’s Andre Jones, who would face Anthony Trask the following week. The fans were happy to see someone else recognisable, and that match will be the last one, on a long night of tapings.

  • Killer Kass squashed Joanne Silver
. It is unknown if Killer Kass is coming to FTR full-time, but if so, she has to be a favourite for the title. Christy Higgins confronted Killer Kass after the match. It looks likely this will lead to a match, in either the final four or the final of this tournament.

  • Leaf LaBaum defeated Jack Jackson
to close out the third episode. A rematch from last month, a rubber match really doesn’t feel necessary, given that neither of the two matches between Jack & Leaf have been great.

<hr color=red><hr color=white><hr color=blue>
Episode #4
  • BISON Yano & Logan Wolfsbaine defeated Jimmy Parsons & Morgan Malone
in a good match. It looks like Yano & Logan are going to be positioned as a tag team going forward, and worked well together here.

  • Andre Jones was interviewed by Captain USA, cutting a babyface promo and talking about how happy he was to be back in action tonight. Jones said this was his chance to prove himself, after a tough couple of years in USPW.

  • The Architect
called himself the smartest man in USPW FTR before the match, and proved it during, as he
enlisted the help of Demolition Drebin & Juggernaut Jones to defeat Monday Next
. Next was in control of the match, but fell victim to what appears to be USPW FTR’s first stable. Given USPW’s history with large, heel groups, this should be a surprise to no one. It does however show that there are big plans for The Architect.

  • Foxxy LaRue beat Faith McGee
, as both women made their debuts on USPW FTR. The final four was set, and the semi-finals and final were confirmed to take place at next month’s tapings.

  • Anthony Trask beat Andre Jones
in a really good match to cap off the night. The fans were clearly tired, but the two competitors got them back into the match. By the end, the crowd were buzzing, until Trask scored the victory via pinfall.

<hr color=red><hr color=white><hr color=blue>
eZYhDcM.jpg

When the taping finished, Ricky Dale Johnson came out and said a few words, as he had the previous month. He thanked the fans for coming along, as well as the trainers and the crew for helping put the show together. He announced the upcoming dates of USPW FTR’s future tapings, and signed off on the show.

Overall, the show was again fairly hit and miss. Anthony Trask and Andre Jones put on a great match in the main event of the final episode, but the reliance on USPW main roster members is probably something they will not want to continue with down the line. Killer Kass and Faith McGee were interesting additions to the Womens Championship Tournament, and having that to follow throughout the night was a highlight. Dynamics are beginning to build between members of the USPW FTR roster, and hopefully the next few months will see the show flesh out a little bit more, as at the moment, it’s clear this group are still finding their feet. The potential is there, but it feels like there’s a long way to go.

USPW FTR episodes premiere on “USPW Plus” on Friday nights, and are available worldwide. The show is available via the Reverie add-on service, USPW Plus, which also features USPW’s entire back catalogue.<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
USPW News From February
  • As well as signing Valiant, it was reported that USPW had also signed CWA Women’s Champion Amber Allen and their “senior official” Eugene Williams. Rumours of cash-flow problems for the CWA followed the two departures, with USPW apparently “blowing them out of the water” in terms of the contracts the two talents were offered.

  • Tyson Baine signed what was described as a “short-term” extension to his USPW contract. Apparently there were some issues between Allen Packer and Pablo Rodriguez during the negotiations, with Baine getting mixed messages from the company. Eventually, everything was resolved, and his match with Joss Thompson will not be Tyson’s last in USPW.

  • Chris Caulfield confirmed via social media that his short return to USPW was over, after he was defeated by Steve Frehley. Caulfield said that he had great fun, and answered “never say never” when asked if he was open to another return in the future.

  • Tiffany Jade signed a new three year contract to stay with USPW. “The Green Dragon” is said to have received a significant raise with the extended deal, the former two time Womens Champion clearly a big part of plans going forward.

USPW American Wrestling - Week 1, March 2020

“From The United States… To The World!”

Date:
Wednesday, Week 1, March 2020 -
Location:
Minnesota Coliseum in Minneapolis, Minnesota -
Attendance:
10,000

[American Wrestling begins with a series of stills, recapping the major stories of the previous Saturday’s Red, White & Blue “Special Broadcast Event”. In the main event, Rick Law challenged Rich Money in a self-described “last chance” match, but was unsuccessful in unseating the USPW World Champion. Sterling Whitlock’s presence at ringside played an undoubted role in Rich’s victory, but a mistake from Law himself ultimately cost him the match.]
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Out of the opening package, the commentators welcome fans to USPW American Wrestling, discussing the events of Red, White & Blue. While they speak, the music of Rich Money begins to play. Making his way down to the ring to open the show, the USPW World Champion is joined by the “x factor” of Saturday’s match, his protege, Sterling Whitlock.]

Ibvw361.pngkVBxmNb.png

[Once in the ring, Rich Money looks at his title and then to Sterling Whitlock. The commentators explain the difference that Whitlock’s presence made at Red, White & Blue, as the smug World Champion waits for the audience to settle.]

Rich Money:
Another one… bites the dust
(Rich looks at Whitlock once again, and laughs)
. Rick Law has always been able to talk them into the building, but when it comes to getting the job done in the ring, he always lets you people down.
(Rich wastes no time, getting straight into lecturing the audience).
That’s the problem with following an everyman like Rick… he’s just like you people. That means he's as flawed as you people, he’s as intelligent as you people, and he’s as beatable as all of you people. That’s the thing, these guys pride themselves on being just like you, so ask yourselves… are any of
you
“World Championship” material?

[Rich Money pauses, as the audience responds to what was really a rhetorical question. Turning off to the side, he says something to Sterling Whitlock and laughs.]

Rich Money:
I’d offer myself as a hero you could
really
get behind, but the idea of you people donning merchandise bearing my image, quite honestly makes me sick. The out of sync chanting, the barely legible signs you bring to the show. The likes of Rick Law can keep
all
of them… and I’ll keep this.
(Rich adjusts the World title on his shoulder, making sure everybody is aware of the fact he is still the Champion.)
And that’s the other thing, I not only walked out of Red, White & Blue as a Champion… I walked out with a little bit of extra change in my pocket. You see, I haven’t had to pay those three wastes of space that I fired a dime this week. And if you’re worrying about what’s next for those guys… don’t. I wasted over a year, putting time, effort and money into trying to improve their lives and their careers. Believe me, those men are three of life's losers, and if we ever see them again on American Wrestling, it will be because they’ve bought a ticket to the show.

Speaking of losers, there’s a lot of guys in that locker room who can only be described that way. We already knew that Rick Law was a loser, and without
any
excuses to be made, I proved that once and for all. So that’s another guy who thought they could beat me… who I no longer have to worry about. Chalk him up with James Justice, as somebody who believed they could survive trying to bring me down, who had to hang them up when the going got tough. But speaking of our “Commissioner”, while he still holds that position at least, he’s got a lot of thinking to do. See I’ve held this World Championship since July… and you name a potential challenger, and I’ll tell you when I last beat them. I’m putting down contenders, quicker than you can find them, Justice…

[This is the last we hear from Rich Money for the time being, as talk of potential contenders draws Nicky Champion out from the back. Nicky is the man who Rich beat to become the Champion back at Independence Day Slam 2019, and since being screwed out of his rematch the following month, he has been out of the title conversation.]

WN2l6SZ.png

[Rich Money is not happy to see Nicky Champion, but Hawkeye joins the World title holder in the ring, taking a microphone in his hand as he does.]

Nicky Champion:
First things first, Sterling… I’ll see you in the ring later tonight. Straight from James Justice himself, Rick Law won’t be able to compete… but I’m more than happy to take his spot in tonight’s main event!

[This is the first Sterling Whitlock has heard of this, and he doesn’t look happy about the news. Rick Law pulling out is news to everybody in fact, and Whitlock in particular is caught off guard.]

Nicky Champion:
I'll focus on you later, Sterling. This isn't about you, right now. This isn't even about you, Rich. This is about
that
!

[Nicky Champion points to the World Championship on the shoulder of Rich Money. After a while out of the title conversation, it appears Hawkeye is ready to take the challenge to Rich Money.]

Nicky Champion:
I've watched you carry that title since you beat me at Independence Day Slam, Rich, and like everybody else in this building, it knocks me sick! Like Rick Law said, you've got that title, because of those guys you fired last week… and without them, I can't think of a better time to plant my flag and stake my claim. I want everybody here as my witnesses, because I'm challenging you Rich Money, for the USPW World Championship… at Liberty & Justice!

[Nicky Champion then turns to leave, without waiting for an answer from Rich Money. However, he turns back around with one last thing to say.]

Nicky Champion:
And Rich, you can give me your answer…
after
I kick Sterling’s ass in the main event!

[Rich Money didn’t look happy to have been challenged by Nicky Champion, but Sterling Whitlock tried to remain positive. He told the World Champion that Nicky Champion wouldn’t be a problem, because he’s going to take him down in the main event. Rich Money didn’t look convinced, and was still seething about Nicky laying down the law to him.]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[As Rich Money heads to the back, we get the formal introduction from the commentators, who didn’t get the chance to welcome the viewers to the show before the World Champion made his entrance.]

xmonw2Y.pngh52ZMJ9.png2jdaC8y.png

Brock Cornish:
And that ladies and gentlemen… is how you kick off American Wrestling! Red, White & Blue in the books, and it looks like we’ve already got our next challenger to Rich Money’s World Championship!

Emily McQueen
(glib)
:
Not so fast, Brock… he’s got to beat Sterling Whitlock in the main event if he wants to be in that conversation.

Belle Bryden:
With all due respect to Sterling… in fact no, with no due respect to Sterling… Nicky said it himself, he’s going to kick his entitled ass tonight!

Brock Cornish:
We will see about that, as you said, in tonight’s main event. There is something else we need to talk about before then however, as we learned earlier today that James Justice has a “huge announcement” to make tonight. The Commissioner has yet to reveal when he’ll make the announcement, nor the nature of what he’s going to tell us. However, if the rumours I’ve been hearing are true… then huge in an understatement!

Emily McQueen:
I’ve been hard on James Justice since he became The Commissioner of USPW American Wrestling, but if what we’re hearing is true… bravo! We’ll find out at some point on tonight’s show, and I can’t wait to hear it from the man himself.

Brock Cornish:
And before we go into our opener, it has
just
been confirmed that despite being pulled from his match with Sterling Whitlock later tonight, and replaced by Nicky Champion, Rick Law is in the building and… this sounds ominous… he’ll be
(Brock pauses)
“addressing his future” later in the show.

Belle Bryden
(with a concerned look to her colleagues)
:
I just hope that this doesn’t mean what I think it does. We’ve heard those words many times before on this very show…<hr color=red><hr color=blue>

Greg Black vs. Joss Thompson

Going into the opening match of the night, the commentators discussed Joss' victory over Tyson Baine at Red, White & Blue, where he silenced the doubters who felt the former World Champion had lost his way. Greg Black returned to USPW on the pre-show of that same event, but was defeated when answering the open challenge of the National Champion, Roger Cage. Black's return to American Wrestling resulted in another defeat, as "The Complete Package" hit a "Clean Cutter" (Spinning Back Suplex Bomb) to secure the victory.

Winner:
Joss Thompson (pinfall in 8:59)

[Following the match, Joss Thompson took a microphone in the ring and looked to address the aforementioned "doubters".]

Joss Thompson:
I love you say I told you so… soooo, this is a great day for me. Because,
(shrugging)
I told you so. In fact, it's been a damn good week! You see, when you've seen as much of the world as I have, you learn a thing or two. Travel broadens the mind, right? In my case, it showed me that no matter where you're from, or where you've been… a fraud is a fraud wherever you are. And while most of you guys haven’t crossed the state border out of this dump… it’s great that you have somebody like me - a globe trotting superstar - to teach you what it’s like out there in the wider world…

[before the smug Joss Thompson can continue his patronising monologue, we see and hear the pyro that accompanies the emergence of Tyson Baine.]

sAfilgo.png

[He may have been beaten at Red, White & Blue, but “The Angel of Death” wasn’t staying down. Joss Thompson wanted nothing to do with Tyson, and said as much.]

Joss Thompson:
I beat you Baine! Get outta here, I’m done with y...

7KXhRPU.png

[The lights go out, stopping Joss Thompson mid sentence. While at Red, White & Blue the blackout lasted only a second, this time it is much longer. When the lights come back up, Tyson Baine is standing at the top of the ramp with a smirk on his face. Joss Thompson is confused, but is pretty much the only one. Everybody else in the building is already aware, and as the camera focuses on Thompson, he finally turns around...]

0wJFOGn.png

[Enygma is back in the arena… making his first appearance of 2020! Joss Thompson is shocked to see the “Man of Mystery”, and before he can process anything, he is taken down with a “Enygmagiri Kick”. Joss Thompson returns to his feet, but Enygma hits a Throat Thrust to “The Complete Package”, which sends him scrambling to the outside. Tyson Baine remains at the top of the ramp, as Enygma looks towards one of his own arch rivals in USPW. While no words are spoken, there appears to be an understanding between Enygma & Baine.]

Belle Bryden (hyped up):
Enygma is back!

Brock Cornish:
It’s been months since we’ve seen him out in front of a live crowd… and oh my, Minnesota was happy to see Enygma…

Emily McQueen:
And if I’m putting two and two together correctly here… that hand, the one that pulled Enygma from his confinement… could that have been the hand of Tyson Baine?

Brock Cornish:
You could be right, Emily, and if Enygma & Tyson Baine
are
joining forces… then I’d be very concerned for Joss Thompson!
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Heading to the back, Alicia Strong is shown entering the office of the USPW Commissioner, James Justice.]

SSXBEXg.pngSKIgw2e.png

[James Justice is taking a call when Strong enters the room, and immediately draws it to a close when the Womens Champion approaches him. Alicia says that Justice seems to have an announcement for Rich Money and the World Championship ready for the end of the night, so she wants the lowdown on what he’s got for her. James Justice says that nothing is decided yet… but he knows somebody who
really
wants to speak with Alicia. The Commissioner advises the Womens Champion to keep herself close to a monitor, because he’s got a feeling that someone is going to be calling her out, later tonight! Alicia doesn’t seem particularly happy with the response, but with little faith that Justice can be talked round, she leaves the office.]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
7uCtH6x.pngOaaezRz.pngtXC9YJq.png

Kirk Jameson vs. Running Wolf

Since having his “application” to join Rich Money’s The Business “rejected”, things haven’t gone all that well for Kirk Jameson, who was joined by his partner Trent Shaffer at ringside for this match. Tonight wasn’t much of an improvement, as while he did give Running Wolf a decent challenge, he was ultimately defeated by one of USPW’s most popular figures. In the end, a “Wolf Tamer” (Fireman's Carry Slam) secured the victory, with Running Wolf continuing his impressive bounceback from his unsuccessful World title challenge back in January.

Winner:
Running Wolf (pinfall in 8:26)

After the match, Trent Shaffer entered the ring to confront Running Wolf, although it wasn’t really clear what he was mad about.

yhcKPgr.png

Running Wolf had now defeated Kirk Jameson cleanly on two occasions, both within the last four days. Shaffer appeared to have an issue with that, and Running Wolf looked ready to solve that problem there and then. Kirk Jameson eventually backed Trent Shaffer up, but Wolf wouldn’t be outnumbered for long.

4yef5qJ.png

Having promised to look out for Nicky Champion and Running Wolf at Red, White & Blue, Casey Valentine ran down and stood shoulder to shoulder with Running Wolf. “The Sharpshooters” didn’t fancy their chances against the two of them, and backed off. Once again, Running Wolf appreciated the support from Casey Valentine, with the two developing a strong bond over the last couple of months.
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[breaking up the show between the second and third matches, a video package aired to promote USPW FTR, as well as the “USPW Plus” subscription service that it is shown on.]

jKMtmME.jpgq953vn8.jpg

[Alongside some archive footage of Alicia Strong, the beginning of the USPW FTR Women’s Championship Tournament was promoted. Eight women would enter, with one being crowned the first ever Champion of FTR. That tournament would begin on Friday, exclusively on USPW Plus!]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
JBeQTI6.pngOaaezRz.pngScBag6Z.png

Melody vs. Tiffany Jade

Two competitors just outside of serious contention for the USPW Womens Championship, this match gave both Tiffany and Melody the opportunity to climb up the ladder, and take one step closer to a title shot. These two are always evenly matched inside the ring, and have a decent amount of history between them (Melody won her third USPW Womens Championship from Jade). Currently however, momentum is on the side of Melody, who has had a solid start to 2020. The new decade has been much more hit and miss for Tiffany Jade, and tonight saw her suffer another disappointing defeat.

Melody picked up the win in a highly competitive match to close the first hour of American Wrestling, hitting the “Melody Maker” (Back Suplex) for the 1… 2… 3!

Winner:
Melody (pinfall in 10:43)

After Melody had celebrated her victory, and left up the ramp, Jillian Jarvis came down to the ring.

WU985BE.png

In recent weeks, Jarvis has looked to form an alliance with Tiffany Jade, feeling that the two women have a lot in common. Tiffany Jade has so far been reluctant to work with anybody else, feeling that she alone can work her way back to the top of USPW. However, as Jillian Jarvis helped her to her feet this time, Jade seemed more receptive. Having suffered her 5th defeat of 2020 already, it looked as though Tiffany Jade was opening up to a different approach going forward...

USPW American Wrestling - Reverie Exclusive - “From The United States… To The World!”

<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Returning to the second hour of USPW American Wrestling, the commentators recap the events of the first half of the show. As they do this, the music of Pariah hits. At Red, White & Blue, Pariah defeated Gorgon in a hard fought match, and judging by the way that she walks down to the ring, she is still feeling the effects.]

2BmCdtp.png

[Pariah isn’t usually one for talking too much, but has recently seen the need to speak up. She takes a microphone, and turns her attention to the entrance way.]

Pariah
(straight to the point)
:
Alicia Strong… you know what this is about. I want you out here right now…

[Pariah then stands looking up the ramp, waiting for the USPW Womens Champion to answer her call out. Pariah doesn’t get a response from Alicia Strong initially. Pariah weighs up her options, but before she takes any further action, Glorious Gloria & Juliette King make their way down to the ring.]

P74e8na.pngRW7cxx0.png

[The Muscle Monsters head towards Pariah, but “The Lone Wolf” joins them at the bottom of the ramp. She isn’t taking any chances, and takes the fight to the other two thirds of The Triumvirate. While she does well in the circumstances, Pariah was never going to be able to fight off both of The Muscle Monsters. As Gloria & Juliette begin to take control, and beat Pariah down on the outside, Alicia Strong comes to the top of the ramp.]

SKIgw2e.png

[The USPW Womens Champion has a smug look on her face, and looks to be enjoying what she’s seeing. Despite being beat down, Pariah still manages to spot Alicia Strong, and this drives her on to fight back. Pariah begins throwing fists at The Muscle Monsters, but her “comeback” is halted by a knee to the gut. Juliette King throws Pariah into the ring, but this was a mistake.

Pariah quickly rolls back to her feet, and runs towards the ropes. Throwing herself to the outside, through the middle and bottom ropes, Pariah torpedoes herself towards Glorious Gloria & Juliette King, taking both women down. Dusting herself off, Pariah heads up the ramp towards Alicia Strong, and the Champion has no choice but to stand her ground. However, when Pariah is within a few feet of Alicia Strong, she is blindsided by Gorgon.]

py0DwnA.png

[Appearing from out of nowhere, Gorgon too looks to be feeling the effects of Red, White & Blue. Nonetheless, she takes down Pariah, much to the delight of the USPW Womens Champion. Soon, both of The Muscle Monsters join Alicia & Gorgon at the top of the ramp, with Pariah down and out in front of the Womens Champion.]

Belle Bryden:
You have to admire the fight of Pariah… but she can’t do this alone!

Emily McQueen:
You’re right Belle, a “Lone Wolf” mentality is admirable, but she’s fighting a whole pack here. Those numbers just don’t add up.

Brock Cornish:
Perhaps it is time that Pariah reaches out to the locker room. There’s plenty of women in the back who would be more than willing to go out and fight this battle… but Pariah needs to make that first move!
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
rLJe7wA.pngd1qMSRq.pngOaaezRz.png56qsYax.png1Rq1wi1.png

Bad Intentions vs. Natural Storm

These two teams went into this match with very different recent records, Bad Intentions struggling under the tutelage of Zeus, while Natural Storm appeared to be back to winning ways. For that reason, many saw this as a routine victory for D.C. Rayne & Eddie Howard. Throughout much of the contest, this looked likely to be the case.

However, as Natural Storm looked to be closing in on victory, they made an extremely rare error, a miscommunication which came as a huge surprise to the commentators. This moment changed the match completely, as in the distraction, D.C. Rayne was pushed into his partner. A clash of heads followed, and Rayne was rocked. Bad Intentions were able take advantage of only having one member of Natural Storm to focus on, and scored a huge victory with a “Double Crucifix Powerbomb”. Bash Street pinned D.C. Rayne, to secure the biggest win of the tag team’s career.

Winners:
Bad Intentions (pinfall in 10:23)

Brock Cornish:
A huge upset here on USPW American Wrestling! Just when Natural Storm looked to be back on track… they’re knocked off course by Bad Intentions!

Emily McQueen:
Bash Street & Siale Valhalla have to capitalise on this momentum of course, and I’m sure Zeus will already be plotting their next move.

Belle Bryden:
It looks like Eddie is back on his feet, and Rayne doesn’t look happy with his partner.

Now back in the ring together, D.C. Rayne & Eddie Howard discuss what went wrong. The Olympus Order are in a very different mood to Natural Storm, as they celebrate up the ramp. In contrast, Eddie Howard particularly seems to be taking the loss - or at least D.C.’s enquiry into the defeat - pretty badly. The two long term partners get into a heated debate in the ring, to the point that Rayne has to step back.

Eddie is known to be the more hot-headed of the duo, and Rayne knows this. He removes himself from the situation, hoping that some time apart will help both men get some perspective on their recent issues.
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Heading to the locker room, Kirk Jameson & Trent Shaffer are in deep discussion themselves, bemoaning the fact that them becoming a tag team hasn’t automatically made them much better competitors. As the two men blame everybody but themselves, they are approached by their managers, Maryam Vega & Raven Robinson.]

jVPi32z.pngMaJ4TB9.png7uCtH6x.pngyhcKPgr.png

[both men look up, and before they can speak, the two women tell them it’s time for them to listen. Raven says that she and Maryam have been talking, and they both agree that
”this”
isn’t working. Vega adds that Kirk & Trent have two choices, and both of them are going to drastically affect them going forward. They can either start listening to what Maryam & Raven have to say, and let them take control of where this tag team is going… or they can say goodbye to both of them. Kirk & Trent look to one another, and are in pretty clear agreement. They are going to follow the advice of Raven & Maryam, and with that agreed upon, the four leave together.]

hqE4Wv1.pngY7rwEca.png

[With the room now considerably less full, we also see that Greg Black is reflecting on his defeat earlier, while seemingly being “pitched” something by an emphatic Grandmaster Phunk. Like Black, Phunk hasn’t been seen on USPW American Wrestling in 2020 before, but seemingly has something in store for Greg Black.]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
m9pCFJB.pngOaaezRz.png5l8D5gW.png

Regular Joe vs. Steve Frehley

Steve Frehley destroys Regular Joe in a very short match. A “Dark Destroyer Spear” secures the victory, at the end of a barrage of offence from Frehley.

Winner:
Steve Frehley (pinfall in 0:59)

[As his arm is raised in the ring, Steve Frehley looks down on the man he had just defeated, and looks disgusted with the level of opposition. Frehley demands a microphone from ringside, and addresses the Minnesota Coliseum.]

Steve Frehley:
Is this who y’all wanna see me fighting? Coz if this is all they got left for me… I might have to go and find me some competition of my own. Putting Bulldozer Brandon Smith down is one thing, but Regular Joe… that useless ass Commissioner has got a desk fan that could put this kid down. And you’re gonna put me in the ring with him. To prove what?

You know, forget it… sometimes you’ve gotta go out and find your own work.

[steve Frehley leaves the ring, and heads up the ramp. The cameras follow “The Destroyer” as he heads through the entranceway, and into the back. He walks past a group of people looking at monitors, before coming across Roger Cage. It looks like the USPW National Champion is preparing for an interview with Danny Jillefski.]

Steve Frehley:
Yo. Cage… Champ! You lookin’ for a fight?

[Frehley then gets in the face of Roger Cage, and Danny Jillefski steps away. The USPW Founder doesn’t want to be anywhere near Steve Frehley, after he witnessed his attack on Brandon Smith last month. Cage takes his National Championship from over his shoulder, prepared for a fight that he appears to have very little chance of winning. As Cage removes his sunglasses, Steve Frehley laughs. “The Destroyer” then takes a step back.]

Steve Frehley:
Hold up, Champ… I’m not gonna fight you now. I’m talking about next week, in the ring. But I’ll take
that
as a yes…
(turning to Danny Jillefski)
now you go tell our Commissioner that we got us a main event for next week!

[steve Frehley then walks off, with Danny looking to Roger wondering whether he should actually do what Frehley has said. Roger Cage nods, and repositions to National Championship over his shoulder. The “Champ” is ready for a fight next week!]
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>
[Returning to the ringside area, the commentators discuss the travails of Rick Law, who has had to deal with both physical and emotional difficulties in recent times. “The Enforcer” spoke about these issues candidly on last week’s American Wrestling, before he challenged Rich Money for the USPW World Championship at Red, White & Blue. Rick Law had called that match his “last chance” to become a World Champion in his career, and while that isn’t written in stone, the defeat has clearly affected him quite badly.

Brock Cornish once again explains the fact that Rick Law has been pulled from tonight’s main event, to be replaced by Nicky Champion. Rick Law will however appear up next, giving an ominous “update on his future” to the USPW American Wrestling audience.]
<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Following Cornish’s explanation of the situation, the music of Rick Law begins to play. His openness with the fans has gained Law an extra wave of support from the USPW fanbase, but the look on his face tells us that he is not in high spirits. As he enters the ring and takes a microphone, Rick Law takes in the reception. His deep breathing and uncharacteristic nervousness point to only one thing. Long-term viewers would be well aware, this demeanor generally precedes only the worst kind of news...]

TBEmsHA.png

[Rick Law sets himself in the ring, and gives an understated acknowledgement of the fans reaction to him. It is evident however, that his mind is elsewhere.]

Rick Law:
First of all, I wanna thank everybody for, kind of, glossing over me pulling out of this match with Sterling tonight. Usually that’s the kind of thing that would get your name dragged through the mud, so… I guess, thanks for understanding. See a lot of people have been coming up to me today, asking if I’m okay… whether it’s an injury from Saturday night that's keeping me out of action, but it’s not.

Physically, I’m ready to go… but after Red, White & Blue, I don’t know if I wanna get back on that horse. Sometimes, you take a big loss. and all you wanna do is get back in the ring. Right now, I need time to reflect. You see, I made that match on Saturday night so much more. To the fans, to my peers… to myself. “The Last Chance”. I had to. I had to make sure that I went into Red, White & Blue
knowing
that this World title match against Rich Money was all or nothing.

Well I gave my
all
… and once again, I left with
nothing
.

[Rick Law laughs reflectively. It’s not that he finds the situation funny, but that he can’t believe he has once again failed to win “the big one”.]

Rick Law:
And you know, if it was somebody else… it would be different. In fact, if it was anybody
but
Rich Money, I wouldn’t have made that declaration. I wouldn’t have called this my “last chance”, but when one man beats you again and again and again… and every time you beat him, he always manages to get it back when it counts… you’re forced to do something different.

[Rick Law is working himself up, thinking about all the times that he has faced Rich Money and come up short.]

Rick Law:
When that doesn’t work… then what? I can’t keep hitting my head against the same brick wall. I can’t keep letting down the fans, I can’t keep letting down the locker room. Nicky Champion graciously stepped aside to afford me this opportunity… and I think it’s time I returned the favour.

[Rick pauses, taking a moment to collect his thoughts. This speech only appears to be heading one way.]

Rick Law:
So, I’m stepping away…
(Rick pauses, allowing the crowd to react to the news)
I’m not saying it’s going to be forever, and I’m still going to be around. But as far as in-ring competition - for the time being - I’m done. This has been a huge decision for me to make, and I know people aren’t going to like it… but I’ve been speaking with my buddy James Justice all afternoon, and I know everything is going to be fine. The Commissioner has got a huge announcement to make later tonight… but at the moment, I’ve got one of my own.

[Rick’s demeanor begins to change, having dealt with the elephant in the room, he appears to have had a weight lifted from his shoulders.]

Rick Law:
In speaking with James Justice, we got to talking about a “succession plan”. When I hang up my boots for good… what then? This business is in my blood, and when I am ready to draw a line under my career, what comes next? Well, James Justice had an idea… and I loved it.

Therefore, as of this very moment… I will be continuing my partnership with James Justice, but we won’t be fighting for Tag Team gold! Instead, I’ll be the right-hand man to our USPW Commissioner… and I’ll once again sit under the learning tree of my mentor and friend. Call me the second-in-command, the “assistant”, the “enforcer”. Whatever you want to call it, I promise that with “Law & Justice” running things on Wednesday Nights… USPW American Wrestling is going to be better than ever. We turn our attention now to the build to “Liberty & Justice”... and with what James has got in mind, and what I’ve got in mind - I promise - it’s going to be a night that
nobody
will
ever
forget!

[Rick Law then leaves the ring, as the commentators recap what we’ve learned during the course of the segment. Rick Law is stepping away from in-ring competition. James Justice has brought Rick Law on board as the “right-hand man” to the USPW Commissioner. And of course, James Justice still has that huge announcement… that he’ll make following tonight’s main event.]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>[Heading to the back before the main event, Danny Jillefski is stood by with the USPW World Tag Team Champions, Jett & Moor.]

IXM7tpJ.pngz0Uij4k.pngzHtHvr9.png

[before they talk about themselves, Jacob Jett comments on Rick Law’s new role in the company, wishing “The Enforcer” all the best as James Justice’s second-in-command. Julius Moor says that with former Tag Team Champions in charge, they know that the division is in good hands. The Champs then talk about Bad Intentions’ victory over Natural Storm earlier tonight, putting over the win. Jacob Jett might not like those guys, but their performance tonight made them pay attention. Moor adds that they’re challenging Bash Street & Siale Valhalla, to a non-title match, next week.]<hr color=red><hr color=blue>

Nicky Champion vs. Sterling Whitlock

Stepping in following the news earlier in the day that Rick Law was pulling out of the main event, Nicky Champion looked as ready as he could have been, and in Sterling Whitlock’s defence, he was just as unprepared for his opponent as Hawkeye was him. Sterling Whitlock is clearly a talented young competitor, and with Rich Money at ringside, he gave everything he had to try and upset Nicky Champion. He certainly took every shortcut he possibly could, but this wasn’t enough to defeat Hawkeye.

In the end, it was fairly routine for Nicky Champion, and Rich Money could do nothing but watch as he closed in on the victory. With Champion’s challenge earlier, the USPW World Champion could have been looking at his own future, as Nicky hit a “Hawkeye Hammer” (Pedigree) to Sterling Whitlock, and covered him for the win.

Winner:
Nicky Champion (pinfall in 11:35)

[Having his arm raised in victory, Nicky Champion looked to celebrate, while awaiting Rich Money’s answer to the challenge laid down earlier. Of course, James Justice’s announcement was still to follow, but before then, the World Champion joined him in the ring.]

Ibvw361.png

[Rich had a microphone, and got in the face of Nicky Champion, hoping to wipe the smile off his face.]

Rich Money:
Nicky, you’ve had a great night tonight… so allow me to spoil it. Earlier tonight, you challenged me to a World Championship match…
(Nicky nods)
well my answer... is NO!

[The smug Rich Money then turned to leave, looking very proud to have played spoiler, on what has been a great night for Champion. The rejection doesn’t seem to bother Nicky however, perhaps because he knew what was coming next. With Rich Money half way through the ropes, looking to leave the ring, the music of James Justice hit. The Commissioner was joined by his new “right-hand man” Rick Law.]

SSXBEXg.pngTBEmsHA.png

[Rich Money stopped on the apron, and looked to the two men at the top of the ramp. He then looked to Nicky Champion, feeling as though he was now part of an elaborate set up. Rick Law and James Justice both had smiles on their faces, as did Nicky Champion. Allowing his deputy to do the honours, James Justice handed Rick Law a microphone.]

Rick Law:
Hey, Rich… I know you love to be the bearer of bad news. Well tonight, I’ve got some news that I don’t think you’re gonna like! Three weeks from this Saturday, it’s Liberty & Justice. Kind of fitting for me and The Commissioner, don’t you think?

[Rich Money looked furious, and with three of his biggest rivals surrounding him, he had every reason to expect the worst.]

Rick Law:
Liberty & Justice is what we do… and it’s gonna be oh so sweet to see this main event go down.

[Rick Law then hands the microphone off to The Commissioner, who makes the announcement official.]

James Justice:
Rich Money… meet Nicky Champion. The man you’re going to be defending that World Championship against… three weeks from this Saturday, at Liberty & Justice!

[Rich Money shakes his head, he is even more angry now that his fears have been confirmed. Nicky Champion has a smile on his face, and applauds the decision makers for giving him a shot at the USPW World Championship.]

James Justice:
But that’s not all… you see next week, we’re going to have a very special guest on USPW American Wrestling. Somebody who has never before set foot in a USPW ring. Believe me, brothers… you’re not going to want to miss this. So next week, Nicky Champion and Rich Money, I want to see you both in the middle of that ring. You’re going to be the first to welcome our “special guest”... during the “Official Contract Signing” for Liberty & Justice 2020!

[Having said their piece, Rick Law and James Justice stand back, as Rich Money turns his attention to Nicky Champion. The USPW World Champion tests the old adage “if looks could kill”, while Hawkeye is cool and collected.]

Brock Cornish:
Business is picking up here in USPW… and next week’s American Wrestling is going to be one for the ages!

Belle Bryden:
Nicky Champion is back in the title picture, and Rich Money does not like it one bit. Maybe firing his entire staff roster wasn't the smartest decision after all…

Emily McQueen:
Be that as it may, you can’t help but feel like there’s a conspiracy in play here. Rich Money, surrounded by three guys who despise him, do you really think the Champion is getting a fair shake?

Belle Bryden:
Are you asking if I feel sorry for Rich Money? (laughs) It’s about time that the Businessman learned what it’s like to be on the wrong end of the numbers game!

Brock Cornish:
Well it’s hard to argue with that, and while Nicky Champion and his fans celebrate that huge news, it’s time to say good night. Thank you for joining us here on Reverie, and next week… you’re not going to want to miss the action. A “Special Guest” will make his first appearance in a USPW ring… during the “Official Contract Signing” for the Liberty & Justice main event. That’s going to be huge, and I’m sure you’ll
all
be here, this time next week… for USPW American Wrestling!

Belle Bryden:
Good night. (Speaking as though she thinks they’re off-air) I
still
can’t believe he’s going to be here next week...

I'm intrigued who this person will be in the contract signing. Jack Bruce is definitely a possibility (I assume he's never been in USPW anyway) but there's definitely a few others who could be interesting, perhaps you've poached someone from elsewhere.

I felt for Joe with the desk fan comment, probably true though!

Engyma return was nice, perfect role really I wouldn't have bought it too high up the card but this is exactly the type of feud I can see him shining in, I don't know why I didn't predict it would be him actually as of course he's not been on any shows. The Rick Law role is also perfect, like he says he can always fight again and I'm sure he will, but I like the idea of having an authority figure who is half and half.

Another couple of great shows. The Pariah match opening Red, White, and Blue was a fantastic choice. You continue to make her seem like a star! Alicia Strong winning cleanly was also good to see. She's the best in the world after all, right? Nicky Champion is finally going after Rich Money. Man, I don't know if you've intended this but Rich Money almost seems to be the good guy here in a sort of twisted way. His stable has been ravaged, he's constantly being antagonized by the commissioner, and he always has to overcome the odds. I love it! That last segment was perfect. I'm gonna guess that Valiant is finally coming at the next show.
