Is there a way to award a title without a fight?

Recommended Posts

I booked and ran a one-night tournament for a belt. I forgot to add that belt. Is there a way I can "award" it to the person I want?

That's a bummer. I think what I'd probably do in that situation is rematch the 2 finalists, especially if it happened to be a close, competitive fight. Might just have to use a bit of imagination; lets say for example a fight ended in a close or split decision and it was imagined as controversial, justifying a rematch for a clear cut winner of the title. Even if the final bout wasn't close, I would maybe do that anyway :D Another way you could handle it, if you really wanna put the belt on the tourney winner, would be to book them in a fight with someone they should easily beat (a can or someone who doesn't match up favorably). Of course then there would be a negative penalty, so I personally wouldn't. But whatever you do, just remember to add the title when booking!

Unfortunately not, no. I'd love to create situations like Dana White handing Ronda Rousey the Belt after her crossover from Strikeforce.

It WAS actually a thing in WMMA4 (almost sure). Apart from the example you name, it never actually happened again in MMA afaik.

Also: didn't UFC acquire the titles and library of Strikeforce? In that case one can argue that she just retained her belt and it changed its name (and scratched its history :p). So she traded her title in for a nicer, shinier title.
