Time for mad madam Mokoa's prediction things

Simony Sentinel vs. Erin Marcelin

Gotta pay the young lion toll

Angel Takudome / Asami Okubo vs. MAYA / Machiko Matsuda

MAYA and Machiko are great talents who should beat a team like this.

Chiyeko Kita / Etsuko Arihyoshi / Yu Hashimoto vs. Hana Ajibana / Ava Anderson / Lily Snyder

I may be mistaken, but I'm guessing team SUB is getting somewhat of a little push. Also Yu Hashimoto frowns on jobbing.

Connie Morris vs. Ochiyo Iijima

This is a tough one. I'm guessing Morris gets the W as she's fresher than Iijima

Shiori Jippensha / HEART Saitoh / Kaede Sugiyama / Kinuye Mushashibo vs. Megumi Nakajima / Lady Lotus / Monster Ishimura / Selina Svelte

This is a wild guess. On one hand, the other team features the younger talent. On the other hand, this team has Shiori Jippensha and HEART Saitoh who are bigger names.

Unstoppable Tai / Toku Kijmuta vs. Romi Yamato / Sae Akutagawa

This one depends on what are the plans for the tag teams. If the TermiNation will get another chance or a new team will rise up to the challenge. I'm betting on the latter.

5SSW World Title V5 Defence: Yuma Maruya vs. ???

I think Maruya escapes once again but this match may set up a bigger challenge down the line.

Another tour, another set of new faces.

It was sad for Erin a bit to not have Eve around, or not have a tag team partner around, but the new faces were cool. Anderson and Snyder were both good people, and Erin gushed a bit like a mark talking about some of their matches she had seen.

Connie was quiet and didn't really say much except "Yup", and "I reckon". Erin felt she was pretty much like her character in real life, a tough hayseed farmer of few words who quietly went about her business. Erin was half expecting Connie to spit tobacco and say "There's a storm comin' in" while looking at a cloudless sky or something.

But it was the 4th gaijin that would prove to be the most interesting......

"Erin!" Kinuye Mushashibo called. "Your opponent for tonight just arrived, come say hello!"

Erin finished re-taping her wrists for the 3rd time and went over to meet her.

Simony Sentinel was chatting with Kit Hatoyama through Ted, and waved Erin over.

"Sorry I'm late, I had trouble figuring out the subway system and ended up missing this place by half a mile."

Simony wasn't really that late, it was just a Japan thing. 8:00 bell time meant you were there by 5:00.

"That's ok, it's good to see you here. I've seen some of your stuff in All Canada, it'll be an honour to work with you."

Simony smiled and gave Erin a once-over

"I've heard about you too, the tough young lion that came outta nowhere. Heard Eve gave you your break and you know how to throw a hard punch. Be sure to take care of me girlfriend, and make sure I look as good as you do."

Simony winked.

"Of course, I'll do my best!"

As the matches were laid out and people got ready for the show, Erin noticed Simony fit in with the rest of the girls right away. She knew Paige and the Uprising from their time together at AAA, and bantered well with the others. Erin hoped she could work a decent match tonight with her.

Meanwhile, Ted was busy losing money to the refs and announcers again in poker. As he stepped out for a breath of fresh air, he noticed Fuyuko Higa muttering darkly through the hallways, and from the bits Ted caught, it seemed she was swearing revenge of some sort on whoever pranked her with the glitter bomb. Ted had heard through the grapevine that Fuyuko Higa made some tinfoil hat-esque accusations to 5-Star management, that were met with indifference from the staff.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.......

5 Star Supreme Wrestling

Queendom Parade Tour Night 1

Monday/Week 4/February/2020

Nekketsu High School Gymnasium

Osaka, Japan

After an intro spiel from the announcers, we go to the ring, where Yuma Maruya is making her entrance. Yuma thanks the fans for their support for the Big Crush, and states that she couldn't have won it without them. However, Yuma does see some issues with things that happened in the match, and wants to air some grievances in public. Yuma calls Miwako Katsukawa down to the ring.

QPFYrDH.jpg

Katsukawa comes down and seems somewhat confused. Maruya asks Katsukawa why she helped her in the best 4 of the battle royale. Katsukawa said she did it to prevent Maruya from being overwhelmed. Maruya asks again, why did she help. Katsukawa is bewildered by this. Maruya points out that Katsukawa had a good chance of winning if she could go 3-on-1 with Team SUB against Maruya, then turning on Team SUB and dumping them both while they'd be busy dumping Maruya.

Katsukawa points out that that would be a dishonourable way to win, and that Katsukawa has tried to change from being the wild child that blindly fought everyone and didn't care for 5-Star customs before. Katsukawa wanted to win by taking out Team SUB, then going 1-on-1 with Maruya afterwards, because that was the honourable way to do it.

Maruya says that being honourable is admirable, but that goes out the window in a battle royale. Why? Because you need to do everything within the rules to win. Making unfair alliances is fair game, and Maruya expected to be taken out by those alliances. But she wasn't, because people protected Maruya. And because they protected Maruya, they sabotaged themselves from winning a title.

Maruya then goes on a subject change tangent, talking about how 5-Star has been threatened by so many villains in the past. Things have been quiet lately, but Maruya knows what Higa has been saying about a new threat coming to 5-Star is true. Maruya knows Higa is going crazy, but she's not stupid. A new threat is coming, just like Namiyo Muro came, just like Destruction Inc came, just like the ANTI came, and just like All Business came. With the threat coming, Maruya wanted to see if 5-Star was ready for it, if people were ready to use every advantage possible to win matches.

Katsukawa then asks if she was supposed to cheat to win. Maruya points out that there is no cheating in a battle royale. You use the means at hand to win. That was a lesson taught to Maruya by the Magic Three many times. Now Maruya says that she needs to teach those willing to defend 5-Star those same lessons she was taught, and have them ready for the threat to come in case Maruya loses the title and can't get it back. So to that end, Maruya says she has approval from VP Kaiya Kuwahara to challenge Katsukawa to a match, right here tonight, where the title will be on the line. Maruya asks if Katsukawa will accept and be ready to learn for future battles. Katsukawa accepts, and the two shake hands to the crowd's approval.

This promo rambled a bit and missed the mark with the audience, but was decent enough for what it was, and was a good way to open the show.

Simony Sentinel vs. Erin Marcelin

The crowd has no clue who Simony Sentinel really is, outside of reading maybe 3 sentences in a magazine, but Sentinel starts to make some fans amongst the Japanese faithful with some good high flying, but more importantly, good fundamentals.

Simony is aided tremendously by the gaijin young lion Erin Marcelin bumping like a pinball for her, and the two show surprising chemistry together, doing a more Americanized version of the Maki Yoshifumi matches we've seen lately. Perhaps the chemistry would be down to their punk-ish haircuts instead though, who knows.

Erin gets in some flurries, and even busts out a Street Fighter-inspired Shoryuken at one point (Actually it was a Koryuken, but that's splitting hairs.) Ultimately however this is Simony's match to win, and she does so in fine style with the Sentinel Strike (Twisting Top-Rope Splash) after 8 pretty decent minutes.

Result: Simony Sentinel def. Erin Marcelin via pinfall at 8:17

The Sunset Riders (Angel Takudome / Asami Okubo) vs. The Kanto Express (MAYA / Machiko Matsuda)

An inauspicious debut for the Sunset Riders here, and the match is lower quality than the opener, despite the fact it has a bit more heat and crowd interest because at least they know a few of the participants involved.

Takudome works hard but is past her best, and Okubo works hard but is VERY awkward at selling for either member of the Kanto Express, including a godawful double back elbow spot that has fans laughing at Okubo's poor sell of it.

The match is still fine because the Kanto Express are both good wrestlers who make up for their opponents, and ultimately they combine for the easy win with the Last Stop (Magic Killer) on Takudome for the pinfall with time to spare.

Result: Kanto Express def. Sunset Riders via pinfall (Matsuda pins Takudome) at 9:33

Yu Hashimoto and Team SUB (Chiyeko Kita / Etsuko Arihyoshi) vs. Hana Ajibana and Synchro Wave (Ava Anderson and Lily Snyder)

Synchro Wave make their debut and look very good despite the lack of crowd knowledge of them, showing some great stuff on offense and teaming together well. Anderson gets to show her striking nous against Hashimoto, and Snyder goes on the mat well with Arihyoshi a bit to establish themselves.

Hana Ajibana throws a few suplexes too, but ultimately gets isolated for a little too long and the heel-ish contingent takes over the match, showing real fire and working over Ajibana with bloodlust. The crowd get into it despite themselves, as the action on display is pretty damn good.

The finish sees Kita hitting Ajibana with a Superkick as the match breaks down, before sinking in an Arm Triangle choke. Hashimoto and Arihyoshi fend off Synchro Wave until Ajibana taps out, and Team SUB gets another notch on their belt in 2020.

Result: Team Hashimoto def. Team Decent Jobbers via submission (Kita taps Ajibana) at 10:31

Connie Morris vs. Ochiyo Iijima

The 4th match featuring a debutant is not great. Connie Morris gets a decent return pop, but then the crowd remember that they liked her better on the apron while Gorgon was doing stuff, as Morris's plodding brawling seems so out-of-place in the more faster-paced style of 5-Star in 2020.

Still, the crowd have enough respect for her size to not totally tune out of the match, and Morris eventually puts it out of its misery fairly quickly with the Missouri Plough (Running Fallaway Slam), followed by a Chokeslam for good measure to pin the beleaguered veteran Iijima.

Result: Connie Morris def. Ochiyo Iijima via pinfall at 7:42

Fuyuko Higa is backstage and is pissed. Megumi Nakajima and the meddling allies ruined the plans to dethrone 5-Star's idol, and now Higa doesn't even have a match today. Higa makes paranoid accusations towards Kaiya Kuwahara, Sensational Ogiwara, and even Shogun TV, none of which could even be proven by a cybernetic super-AI version of Detective Conan. Higa does credit Maruya for at least being smart enough to see her own demise coming, and tells her to tread lightly in the title match. Losing to a "pale imitation" of Higa in the main event would be disappointing after all.......

Shiori Jippensha / HEART Saitoh / Kaede Sugiyama / Kinuye Mushashibo vs. Megumi Nakajima / Lady Lotus / Monster Ishimura / Selina Svelte

This is a match that should've been a lot better than it was, but suffered from not enough time and build, not enough Nakajima and Jippensha being featured together, and some horrendous botching from Ishimura and the Stone Soliders.

Still though, there is a good ebb and flow, it is an open battle that the crowd sees going either way, and the show's superior slapstick moment does comes in this match. Svelte and Lotus engage in a funny sequence of cheapshotting Saitoh before tagging out to the other in fear of retribution, before Ishimura finally gets sick of it and proceeds to blind tag in and hit Saitoh with a clothesline that gives us the Champagne Lover 360 degree oversell.

That, plus dominating several people from the babyface contingent on the outside during the finish, proves to be Ishimura's best contribution to the match however, as the match somehow boils down to Nakajima vs. Mushashibo in the ring for the finish. Mushashibo's wild springboard shoulderblock misses, and Nakajima picks Mushashibo up for the Nakajima Straight Jacket (Straightjacket Suplex) for the pinfall just past the 15 minute mark.

Result: Team Nakajima def. Team Jippensha via pinfall (Nakajima pins Mushashibo) in 15:09

We get a quick series of cut-in promos from backstage, with Megumi Nakajima telling Higa that if she wants revenge for the Big Crush, she's an easy woman to find, Chiyeko Kita gloating over Team SUB's recent successes, and Sae Akutagawa promising pain for the tag division.

The TermiNation (Unstoppable Tai / Toku Kijmuta) vs. The Hell Raisers (Romi Yamato / Sae Akutagawa)

This match proves to be better, if a bit wild, as the commentators make the viewers at home aware that this match will have huge ramifications for future tag title bouts.

Theres been a minor issue between the two sides simmering on the backburner (through the occasional promo and Twitter clip), and it becomes obvious that these two teams just do not like each other. Tai throws punches with reckless abandon and appears to be on the warpath due to how things shook down in the tag title match, but Yamato and Akutagawa have enough size and toughness to weather the damage, and counter with superior speed and some vicious strikes that even a Brute Kikuchi would have a hard time no-selling.

Things spiral out of control early and often, and the referee Odaka spends most of the match trying to keep things sane and clearly defined legal women in the ring. It mostly fails, and leads to both teams getting hot at him when they cover an opponent after a big move, only for it to be a pinfall on the ineligible woman.

After 14 minutes of fists and fury, the end comes when Tai is bundled out of the ring, and stays down long enough for the Hell Raisers to finish off Kijmuta with the Kaenhousha (Total Elimination).

Result: The Hell Raisers def. The TermiNation via pinfall (Akutagawa pins Kijmuta) in 14:43

Yuma Maruya cuts a good quick promo backstage before her V5 title defense, saying that matches like these are important for the legacy she intends to leave behind for future generations to follow. Maruya hopes that Katsukawa is up to the challenge, and intends to teach her what it means to carry the 5-Star standard.

Yuma Maruya (champion) vs. Miwako Katsukawa (challenger)

This match turns out to be very, very good, but doesn't quite cross the line over to great like the Big Crush tour main events do.

Part of it is the disappointment amongst the contrarian fans for the challenger not being Fuyuko Higa instead. Part of it is Maruya going subtle heel during the match, doing several finishers from other wrestlers such as the Higa Green Driver and the Nakajima Straight Jacket (both get countered by Katsukawa, to Maruya's approval.). Part of it is the fans not fully buying into Katsukawa's chances, and part of it is the match needing a bit more time to go all the way.

However, Katsukawa tries her ass off over the course of the match to make it work, and Maruya works perfectly to the level of her opponent.

A teased countout finish gets the crowd on the edge of their seat, as Katsukawa takes Maruya over the top with her Twisting Handspring Forearm Strike that sends Maruya over the rope, and then Katsukawa follows with a big no-hands somersault plancha to the outside, making it back in the ring at 15, but Maruya makes it in at 19 to just barely beat the count.

Maruya almost wins it with the Skywing Lock (Double Butterfly Armbar), but Katsukawa shows great effort to make the ropes and get out of the jam, fighting back with every acrobatic move she can think of.

Eventually, Katsukawa's luck runs out, as she goes for the Katsukawa Bomb (Sunset Flip Powerbomb) just slightly too early without properly stunning Maruya first. Maruya stuffs the move, and stacks on top of Katsukawa for the pinfall after 15 good minutes of action to retain the title!

Maruya raises the title high and shakes Katsukawa's hand, with the show going off the air as some confetti and streamers fly into the ring.

Result: Yuma Maruya def. Miwako Katsukawa via pinfall at 15:27

Yuma Maruya retains the 5SSW World Championship (V5 Defense)

<p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p><strong>OOC SHOW NOTES:</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

-Oh man, I should've revealed who ??? was in the main event. I stupidly didn't realize that people would think it was Higa, because she was involved in that 8 woman tag before I reshuffled what I booked.</p><p> </p><p>

-I get the feeling Katsukawa would've been a disappointment as the reveal, but I've committed to her as a possible future ace, and it's not like the TEW crowd hates her or anything.</p><p> </p><p>

-I think the promo was great, but I might've rambled a bit, and Katsukawa's involvement in-game contaminated the angle.</p><p> </p><p>

-Hell Raisers and TermiNation had a good strong match and I expect to see more of the same from the Hell Raisers going forward. What about the other team? What ABOUT the other team.</p><p> </p><p>

-8 woman tag would've been better had some anchors not been dragging it down, but at least it gave people something to do.</p><p> </p><p>

-Higa keeps doing awesome things on my show, stop iiiiiiiiiiitttttttt.</p><p> </p><p>

-Connie is old and past it, but I only need to squeeze one big match out of her.</p><p> </p><p>

-Sunset Riders debut wasn't that bad, but yeah the match was carried by the Kanto Express and when you set aside pop it was worse than the opener.</p><p> </p><p>

-On that note, the chemistry note helped the opener kick all kinds of ass. BTW, even though Simony's here on a tour shot for now, she'll probably be a Top 5 important character in this diary. I've never used her in a featured role before, and never thought much of her and a lot of the undercard AAA talent, but she fufills an important role that seems to be unique to her, so I made the region edit and brought her in. She'll be getting pushed fairly strongly on camera as well, and seems to work out okay in tests even though she only has 66 aerial.</p><p> </p><p>

-And no, I'm not going to test the young lion system and have Erin go over a veteran. I'm simply did that scene with Ogiwara to lay out possibilities in her mind, and to set up a dramatic scene later in the diary that shows the underbelly of the business. 5SSW will not close. How it will sidestep bankruptcy is unknown, even to me. I mean, attendances could turn around and 5-Star could get a better TV deal before they run out of money, who knows. I don't, because I'm only one show ahead and my previous test sims haven't gotten much further. but 5-Star will stay alive, even if I have to make up a plot contrivance to keep it that way <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

-I feel like the Kuwahara improv segments are slipping, and thats slightly concerning. She's gained 1 pop in the role, but I might decide to jack up her entertainment stats because shes cut a promo almost every show and not improved at all (and I know it isn't destiny because no one else has improved, seriously wtf Adam.)</p><p> </p><p>

-As always I appreciate all your predictions (Shout-out to KyTeran for getting the first perfect recently), as well as any feedback and comments. Love you guys. Expect a somewhat quick turnaround, maybe prediction key for Show 2 up tomorrow?</p><p> </p><p>

<p>It was interesting. And it showed another side of Maruya. One who is not shy of getting her claws out if it means achieving her goals. She does not cheat, but she won't hesitate to use any tricks to win. </p><p> </p><p>

As for Higa, I think she's overused as people who play with promotions that feature women almost always put her on top. </p><p> </p><p>

Katsukawa is an interesting choice as an ace. I don't know if she can be a nº1 franchise player like Maruya, but she definitely can be a big main eventer. Coincidentally, I just made her my world champion at Joshimania. She beat Maruya in a 68 rated match.</p><p> </p><p>

The Kanto Express is a good team with heaps of potential to carry a tag team division. If you decide to break up the BoP, they can be your workhorse team.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm looking forward to the moment Alexander decides to knock on Ogiwara's door and tell her to push Erin. It will be really entertaining.</p>

I'm pretty sure you know this, but just to remind everyone, but in TEW 2020, according to the manual, once someone has 25 in Experience *or* 3 years in the business, they are no longer a young lion.

So she can wait.

In any case, good job with this diary.

I liked that opening segment a lot. Strong way to open, and good character stuff.

5SSW News And Notes

by "JoshiJosh6" Joshua Prosser

-The Showcase TV episode featuring the opening show of the Queendom Parade Tour did a hair shy of 20,000 viewers. Shogun TV continues to be pleased with the numbers.

-Backstage personnel were said to be impressed with the opening match between Simony Sentinel and Erin Marcelin. Sentinel is expected to get a strong push for this tour.

-Overall the show was thought to be good, although some 5-Star personnel backstage were vocal about how it could've been better, and how Miwako Katsukawa is not ready for a big-time push yet.

-Fuyuko Higa's promo was said to be a veiled inside shot at the company, as Higa suspects various people in positions of power in 5-Star were behind some type of rib at the Big Crush finale.

-Dark match tryouts on the show saw Sapporo Wrestling Dojo graduate Tsuna Kamiya team with Young Lightning to do a job for Zofia Jankovic and Double Pink in a six woman tag, and Hoshiko Tagawa also got brought in for a singles job to Paige Croft.

-Another dark match saw the Birds of Prey, Talia Quinzel, and Maki Yoshifumi defeat Eri Sato, Thea Davis, and Shining Force in an eight woman tag that was said to be good.

-It's still widely believed that a trios tournament will take place on the Hall of Fame tour, with the company bringing in more outside talent for it.

-5-Star is rumoured to be losing money hand over fist, but investments and some type of government rebate are keeping the company alive for the forseeable future. It is expected that the company is going to make money back off a restructured deal with Shogun TV in the spring, as well as increased sponsorship revenues.

-Despite the money loss, the company is still keen on bringing in new faces to keep up their recent momentum. Ursula Saez and Steph Blake are among the hires being considered.

We get the traditional lead-in from the announcers, and open with Kaiya Kuwahara cutting a promo running down the card, running down Higa's paranoid accusations, and being her usual charming charismatic self. A good job as always MCing the event from 5-Star's VP.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Simony Sentinel vs. Kaori Mochizuki</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Mochizuki makes her entrance as the local competitor, and is somewhat known by the crowd due to performances on the indy scene at least. However, this match is really not for her benefit and Kaori spends most of it on the back foot.</p><p> </p><p>

The crowd continue to learn about the solid fundamentals and athleticism of Simony Sentinel, who makes a strong impression in this match, wrestling circles around her bigger, clumsier opponent. Sentinel works the knee well with all sorts of kicks and running offense and big moves, eventually keeping Mochizuki down long enough for the Sentinel Strike (Twisting Top Rope Splash). That gets 3, and Simony picks up another win to push her and her violet hair to 2-0 in 5-Star.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Double Pink (Mystery Pink / Pinky Perez) vs. Ochiyo Iijima and Hana Ajibana</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Double Pink get another good TV bout to show off what they can do, and once again wow the crowd with an impressive showcase of strong lucha offense, flipping their overwhelmed veteran opponents this way and that. Pinky Perez looks particularly impressive, going with the high-intensity, fast-paced flow that 5-Star fans have come to expect from the company, and gets off several impressive spinning suplexes that pop the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Ajibana gets in some suplexes of her own, but it ends up being for naught, as Double Pink bust out more slick double teams and finish off Ochiyo Iijima with their Vertical Suplex/Twisting Crossbody combo.</p><p> </p><p>

Yuma Maruya's backstage, and says she'll be watching tonight's show closely for contenders to her belt at the final show of the Queendom Parade. Yuma also talks up her match with Miwako Katsukawa, and feels that even if she loses the title, it'll eventually end up back in safe hands with future talents like Katsukawa around.</p><p> </p><p>

Maruya did a super job with this promo and everything flowed naturally, as expected from 5-Star's idol.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Lethal Strike (Thea Davis / Zofia Jankovic) vs. Sunset Riders (Angel Takudome / Asami Okubo)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

The Sunset Riders get another crack at it, and once again proceed to work hard but show off their deficiencies, with Okubo is particular still having a tough time grasping that whole selling concept.</p><p> </p><p>

Okubo and Jankovic do work an interesting, hard-hitting sequence for a while, ending with Jankovic basically battering Okubo with kicks into the corner until Okubo finally starts to sell them a bit.</p><p> </p><p>

Takudome and Okubo make a bit of headway against Thea Davis, but she eventually starts countering everything the Riders throw at her before tagging in Jankovic, who hits Takudome with the Demon's Bane (Go 2 Sleep) for the win.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Synchro Wave (Ava Anderson / Lily Snyder) vs. Miwako Katsukawa and Eri Sato</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Synchro Wave are up against it her versus a possible future ace and a solid striker, but acquit themselves really well, showing off awesome tag chemistry and slick double teams, and looking better than they did during their debut where Hana Ajibana was getting in the way.</p><p> </p><p>

Lily Snyder shows some good technique against Katsukawa, while Anderson engages in some good striking battles with Eri Sato, and Synchro Wave hold their own for a good long while.</p><p> </p><p>

However, Katsukawa is getting the crowd more and more on her side in recent matches, and her twisting forearm strike in the corner (now named the Ultraviolet Beam by the announcers) is getting a nice pop in each match.</p><p> </p><p>

Synchro try to contain Sato for a good heat segment, but Katsukawa makes the hot tag, runs wild, and finishes off Ava Anderson with the Katsukawa Bomb (Sunset Flip Powerbomb) for the win to cap off a solid match.</p><p> </p><p>

We cut to a pre-tape backstage, where Katsukawa talks about the learning experience she had with Yuma Maruya last week, and how she intends to grow from that as a wrestler and become good enough to someday carry the 5-Star standard herself. Katsukawa was amped up and excited, and delivered a fairly good promo.</p><p> </p><p>

Team SUB make their entrance with a swagger to them, as they've been on fire recently, having not lost a match in 2020 except the Big Crush battle royale, and they seem to be gearing form some type of revenge against the champion Maruya.</p><p> </p><p>

Paige Croft makes her entrance with some type of chain tied around her waist, one that she bangs on the steel steps a few times before the match starts before throwing it on the ground with a noticeable thud. The announcers have no idea whats up with that, but note Croft's pissed off demeanour as of late.</p><p> </p><p>

The heelish contingent overwhelms the other side throughout, with only Matsuda and Sugiyama offering much in the way of resistance, usually because of a screwup from Morris or Croft getting over confident or playing with their food too much. Team SUB look in their glory here, wrenching limbs and loving the pain their opponents experience.</p><p> </p><p>

The match gets drawn out like a blade, before Team SUB eventually put it out of its misery with the Superkick/Tiger Suplex combo on Tsumura, before Arihyoshi locks in the Arihyoshi Lockdown (Seated Abdominal Stretch Dragon Sleeper) until referee Odaka calls for the bell to save Tsumura's hide.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Talia Quinzel vs. Yukiko Matsumara</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Quinzel gets a rare singles match to showcase herself, and the statuesque Amazonian shows off her power with a string of backbreaker-related moves to start.</p><p> </p><p>

Matsumara was getting a little momentum going as a singles competitor with a cult fanbase behind her before this co-main, and fights back using crowd support and high speed offense. However, unlike the Sentinel/Mochizuki match, Quinzel has the werewithal and ability to keep a lid on her faster opponent, and finally stops a comeback attempt by lariating Matsumara out of the sky during a springboard attack. Matsumara is left folded on half on the canvas looking like a car crash victim, as Talia plays to the crowd.</p><p> </p><p>

Talia then goes to a uranage backbreaker, followed by the Spinal Trauma backbreaker for 3 to claim an impressive win.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match we hear from a bunch of different people via rapid-fire promo packages backstage. Sae Akutagawa says she's almost impressed by Quinzel, but is confident the Hell Raisers will rise up and get the job done to win the tag team titles. Megumi Nakajima re-iterates her challenge to Higa, and hopes to teach her a lesson in this six-woman tag main event. Gemmei Oonishi still doesn't know why Higa is choosing to be this way, but is obligated to support her partner no matter what. Chiyeko Kita sends a warning to Yuma Maruya that her title reign won't survive past the next defence if Team SUB is her next opponent, and Shiori Jippensha says she'll fight anyone in front of her and its time to make a statement for the future.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Shiori Jippensha and the Birds of Prey (Fuyuko Higa / Gemmei Oonishi) vs. Megumi Nakajima and Torment and Sorrow (Maki Yoshifumi / Yu Hashimoto)</strong></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

So after a middling midcard, the 5-Star fans get blessed with one of the best matches the company has seen since the tsunami, a dazzling 6 woman tag with something for everyone and hard work all around.</p><p> </p><p>

The fists fly. Mat wrestling goes back and forth, and various wrestlers take to the skies. We get the big early sequence of dives to the break, including a big running no hands cannonball plancha to the outside from Higa that knocks everyone down like bowling pins.</p><p> </p><p>

The action swings back and forth, and the crowd get into it right away, knowing this match has the true intrigue of anyone can win.</p><p> </p><p>

The big storyline thread in the match is Higa seeming to be more interested in working alongside Jippensha rather than her partner Oonishi, and also makes a habit of clapping on the apron when Jippensha does a thing (while ignoring anything positive Oonishi does). Higa experiments with a few tandem moves, but seems to be more focused on doing moves to Nakajima and Hashimoto, noticeably backing off Yoshifumi whenever possible, even sacrificing a tiring Oonishi to come in and take the abuse instead.</p><p> </p><p>

Yoshifumi shows clear threat to all 3 women involved, and despite Nakajima and Torment and Sorrow being the heels, quite a big pop comes for a Yoshifumi blind tag as Nakajima comes off the ropes to get backdropped by Higa. Higa peacocks for the crowd, and turns right around into a <strong>HEAD KICK</strong> that knocks her down and out! 1.....2.....Oonishi saves!</p><p> </p><p>

A pier-six ensues off that, buying Higa enough time to recover, and when order is restored, Higa tags in the fatigued Oonishi AGAIN, as Oonishi is just incredulous at that. Oonishi does her best to fight off Nakajima's faction, and finally manages to tag in a well-rested Jippensha to run wild on their opponents!.......</p><p> </p><p>

.......Only for Nakajima to cut off the comeback in mid-flow. Jippensha then plays the in-peril role, and weathers a lot of damage. End Game gets 2! German Suplex gets 2! <strong>HEAD KIC</strong>-ducked, and its a tag over to Higa!</p><p> </p><p>

Higa runs wild and destroys all three people while needlessly showboating, until getting a time warning from the referee. Higa then picks up Nakajima and tags in a completely spent Oonishi, telling her to go up for the Death From Above (Veg-o-Matic), but Oonishi is slow getting up to the top rope. Higa yells at her to hurry up, but before she gets set for the jump.......WE'RE DESPERATELY OUTTA TIME, as the match is ruled a draw!</p><p> </p><p>

Post-match, an absolutely furious Higa browbeats Oonishi, and screams at Kaiya Kuwahara backstage for five more minutes to settle things, before the show goes abruptly off the air as Higa starts unleashing a stream of very naughty words at the camera.</p><p> </p><p>

OOC SHOW NOTES:

-AS ALWAYS, thanks to everyone for their predictions and comments. Love you guys, and be sure to drop a DOTM nomination if you like what I've been cooking here.

-I feel like my match-writing style has changed a bit since the start, like I'm streamlining stuff more.

-Simony's doing a fairly good job so far considering her top rows are mediocre. My limited experience with Eve Grunge was telling me that fundamentals matter less in this level of play once you reach a certain point, so this is a bit unexpected. Although maybe Sentinel's different cause she's a high flyer? At any rate, this is good, as mentioned before Sentinel's going to be an important character in this diary (less so in-ring but still a valued piece. More on her later.)

-A lot of this lowercard was basically filler, but thats ok! Its tour shows, and I'm assuming by tour show standards IRL this wasn't too unrealistic (If anything giving away a title match last show was a stretch, but it was important to future stories and I have no future big event slot to work Katsukawa into before summer's end.)

-Double Pink continue to really impress me (as does Zofia Jankovic), even if they've unfortunately been on the pre-show a lot to make way for others, and because they can't do jobs (yet) so that limits their flexibility.

-Synchro Wave lose their chemistry bonus in 6-man tags, so they ended up looking really really good here against Katsukawa and Sato as opposed tot he prior 6-woman (which was a good match but that was because one team was carrying the groceries.)

-Predictions for the 8-woman tag were interesting, and it made me realize that I haven't done a great job building up Team SUB as much as I've wanted to. They got left off Reign Supreme, and now I'm thinking they should've found a spot back in. Oh well.

-I really like Quinzel, especially because Menace is now basically useless unless you're USPW or SWF it seems, and as mentioned earlier her and her deadweight partner are huge beneficiaries of circumstance in this diary. This match was a bit low though, and I underestimated KatsuSato and Synchro Wave, which could've been in the co-main slot.

-The main event is something I hope I did really well with in the write-up. Higa once again keeps taking over my diary, I don't mean to write all the stuff that I write, but my fingers just keep typing hypocritical heel BS for her to do. I feel like the intentionally tagging in a tired partner to make them look bad spot was pretty fresh, and Oonishi's heart and willingness to believe that if she tries harder she can make things work with her long-time partner is what keeps her fighting....... and what Higa exploits to amuse herself or set up Oonishi for the blame in case, heaven forbid, a team with Miss Perfection loses.

-Also with Higa (who is now taking over OOC notes instead of just the show itself it seems), I am sort of seeing Birds of Prey as being like a stereotypical domestic abuse scenario. One partner is an utter hypocrite who holds themselves to lower standards than everyone else, who blames the partner for all the failures, and who regularly abuses them as a manipulation tactic, while the other partner has seen the good side of their abuser back when the relationship started, and want to think "well if I just go along with this and do my best, things will work out in the end because everything was fine before the abuse started, right?". Meanwhile, everyone with an outside perspective is doing everything but screaming at the abusee to just up and leave. I think thats a fairly unique dynamic compared to how a usual WWE tag split goes. Both parties are to blame for their losses, and if you combined Higa's talent with Oonishi's heart and desire, you'd have Miss Perfection, but both their flaws of lacking what the other had cause the team to not win everything they fight for. And Higa's ego means its totally not her fault shut up. And Oonishi's heart and desire and lesser talent compared to her partner make her believe it. What a tragedy.

-BTW, this Birds of Prey angle would've started in November when the team lost the Tag League and Higa decided "aight, its time for a makeover and attitude change, now wheres my hair dye and skull staff?" switching to the render we all know and love today. Its now March. How many IRL wrestling tag breakup angles go over 4 months these days? Probably not many.

-In case you're wondering what Erin was up to, she was jobbing in a six-woman tag alongside Lady Lotus and a one-night bring in of Rika Tsujimura. The winners were.......Monster Ishimura, MAYA, and Selina Svelte I believe.

-Also gave a tryout to a couple of game generated graduates of the Hatoyama Dojo that show promise, similar to Spider Isako. Unfortunately like Isako I have no idea how they'd work in a diary context, because they aren't super talented yet and thats a gimmick you want to protect. Oh well.

-News and Notes and a backstage segment to come before the next card is revealed!

Also with Higa (who is now taking over OOC notes instead of just the show itself it seems), I am sort of seeing Birds of Prey as being like a stereotypical domestic abuse scenario.

That is an interesting take and it is coming across well, I really feel for Oonishi here, she needs a wakeup call along the line but as you say that is the case in so many relationships going wrong.

I have the same problem with Otohime in the thunderverse joshi scene. She should be jobbing for the next three years fresh out of the dojos and all but she already has a gimmick with a lot of mystique (fashioned herself after a dragon of the same name) that it would be a shame to lose, she's probably going to end up being a preshow wonder for the first three years of my save while hopefully increasing her psychology and skills in general from it.

<p><em>(OOC: Another character post and a Prediction Key up in a day or two!)</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="nr0H7y3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nr0H7y3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Erin felt lucky to have a nice soft bed in the boarding house, because boy did she need it.</p><p> </p><p>

Erin got her first ever experience working with Monster Ishimura, and it was...... interesting. Ishimura had seemed to be increasingly unmotivated ever since her big loss to Shiori Jippensha and the realization that she wasn't going to be pushed super-hard, and while the company still tried to protect her in booking, she wasn't going to threaten Crusher Ichihara's status as best monster ever any time soon.</p><p> </p><p>

Ishimura was clumsy and a bit botch-prone, and dropped Erin backwards on her knees, due to misjudging her center of gravity for a powerbomb of some description. Erin was lucky she didn't blow out her ACL or something, and Ishimura didn't even apologize afterwards (at least according to Ted or Kinuye). Ishimura also had some clubbing forearms to the spine that landed a little harder than intended, but Erin got in a few punches of her own to the other side that landed a little hard, so maybe it all evened out.</p><p> </p><p>

Erin could choose to be a diva about it, but let it pass. She wanted her spot more than anything else, and working like this was just a way of paying your dues. Every good male wrestler under 230 probably had to work early career matches with clumsy people bigger than them, like Erin did with Ishimura, and Erin knew a few girls had to deal with slugs like Mary Beth Chase and Susan Lee on the North American indy scene during their come-up days.</p><p> </p><p>

It was fine in the end, she could sleep off the damage, and Erin was learning how to be a better in-ring performer, slowly but surely..........</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="rBQxkob.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rBQxkob.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Ted grimaced as he watched the replay of Erin's match. He had noticed Erin limping slightly after the pre-show, which Ted had missed while he helped Talia translate for her match. He had just seen the YouTube clip and......eeech.</p><p> </p><p>

Ted expected it on Botch Mayhem within the next month or so. Ishimura had picked Erin up over her shoulder for a powerbomb, but didn't lift her properly or something because Erin overbalanced forward, dropped off Ishimura, and landed on her knees. Erin said she was ok and Ted confirmed this later via text that she was just resting, but Jesus.</p><p> </p><p>

As a big monster female heel, Ishimura was about as bad as Killer Kass and the two schlubs Alicia Strong was in a stable with (although Ted knew that stable wasn't much longer for the world, given what had been going on with USPW lately.). She had debuted storngly at JoshiMania and the crowd responded to it, but for whatever reason since then she'd been badly exposed despite 5-Star's best efforts, and even though she was still going over it was becoming apparent to Ted that they might need to pull the plug soon if this kept up. That Jippensha match in particular too, that exposed her as just not being ready for primetime.</p><p> </p><p>

Ultimately, what mattered is that Erin was ok, so Ted was cool with it. It was time to drink some sake and do the other, significantly more tedious half of his job......</p><p> </p><p>

-The second episode of the Queendom Parade Tour on Shogun TV did close to 23,000 viewers, a similar number to the Big Crush finale. Shogun TV executives were said to be thrilled with this.</p><p> </p><p>

-While the undercard was middling, the show garnered great praise for the terrific six-woman tag match and some good promo work throughout. Shiori Jippensha and Fuyuko Higa garnered particular praise for keeping the match together story-wise</p><p> </p><p>

-Rumoured matches possibly coming up for the final show of the Queendom Parade tour: Yuma Maruya defending against someone from Team SUB, Uprising defending tag titles for sure now against the Hell Raisers, Simony Sentinel to get some type of title shot, and Megumi Nakajima facing Fuyuko Higa.</p><p> </p><p>

-Sentinel continues to get backstage praise for her recent good work.</p><p> </p><p>

-A young tag team called the Blackhearts got a tryout, with the team consisting of recent Hatoyama Dojo graduates Eiko Yonekura and Kamiyo Uemura. The worked a dark match loss against the Hell Raisers, and were said to be green but with signs of potential.</p><p> </p><p>

-Other dark matches included a decent but botchy six woman tag featuring Monster Ishimura, Selina Svelte, and MAYA defeating Erin Marcelin, Lady Lotus, and Rika Tsujimura (who worked a one night deal on short notice due to happening to be in the area). There was also a tag match with Yuma Maruya and HEART Saitoh defeating the TermiNation that was said to be good.</p><p> </p><p>

-Theres talk amongst 5-Star brass about wanting to reduce production values to save money, but it's unlikely to happen due to fear over what the various important wrestling magazines in Japan would think.</p><p> </p><p>

-Theres talk that several backstage personnel in 5-Star have been offered jobs in EXODUS 2010, fuelling speculation over the return of the Modern Japan alliance that has been dormant since the collapse of WEXXV. It is a widely held belief that some type of talent trading needs to happen for the companies to stay alive in the face of BHOTWG and possible PGHW raids, although 5-Star's contributions would seem to be limited to referee/commentator/agent/production staff loans.</p><p> </p><p>

-Shogun TV is said to be interested in renewing their TV deal with 5-Star and several other companies, with a budget increase possibly meaning more of the ad revenue trickles down.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Wednesday/Week 1/March/2020</em></p><p><em>

Shohoku Academy Gymnasium Dressing Rooms</em></p><p><em>

Kobe, Japan</em></p><p> </p><p>

---</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="nr0H7y3.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/nr0H7y3.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Erin could tell there was a bit of a sense of excitement after the success of the last few shows, and the feeling that everyone backstage was helping the company turn the corner again, back to an almost Magic Three era. Soon, they wouldn't be dressing in high school gyms like this, they'd be dressing in nice arenas, with more fans waiting to watch them work, and more money involved.....</p><p> </p><p>

A lot of people had a little pep in their step, and people were ready to go all out to prove that 5-Star was in the same league as companies like BCG or WLW.</p><p> </p><p>

One of the harder workers lately was Miwako Katsukawa, who had taken her trip to Wrestler's Court in January to heart, and had been trying to self-improve since then, showing up early to every show since and working harder for her opportunities. On this particular day, Miwako was seen doing some type of exercise in a doorway, where she hooked the back of her legs over a chinup bar with HEART Saitoh's help, and was doing upside-down sit-ups, tyring to touch her knees.</p><p> </p><p>

Erin had seen this exercise once or twice in a gym and in TV shows, but couldn't remember the name. It was yielding some results though, Miwako looked really good and a lot more toned than before.</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Rock on girlfriend.</em></p><p> </p><p>

Erin gave a thumbs up as she walked past Miwako's workout, en route to a meeting to go over her match. This would be the first time Erin would be working with Fuyuko Higa, so that would be........ interesting........</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="7aqiaVS.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/7aqiaVS.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Simony felt good vibes from the locker room the moment she walked in for her debut back in February, and Simony could tell that she was on a train to someplace special here.</p><p> </p><p>

It was nice to get to work with fresh new faces, in a different style, with some room to experiment (instead of running the formula like in AAA, or working more to accomodate being around the larger guys in ACPW). Not to mention the locker room was great. Sure, Simony had heard the stories about people like Fuyuko Higa and Unstoppable Tai, but they hadn't bothered her yet. And if they did, well, the gaijins said they'd get them back. So that was something.</p><p> </p><p>

It was good to see Paige and Talia again, although they were just such straight arrows and not real wild fun to hang out with. Their idea of a party night was mixing a scoop of real coffee in with the decaf. Simony didn't really see any party gals on the roster, at least ones that spoke English, but they were nice at least. The European girls, the Mexican girls, the two from QAW in the kick-ass tag team, all of them were civil, and there was a sense of camraderie and togetherness in that part of the locker room.</p><p> </p><p>

But out of all of them, Simony noticed she was starting to be REALLY interested by the Canadian rookie, Erin Marcelin.</p><p> </p><p>

Erin was better already than a few of the green girls in ACPW and elsewhere that Simony had worked, and they clicked instantly in the ring together. Erin bumped around like a pinball for someone she barely knew, and put in 100% effort and youthful enthusiam into a pretty decent match that made Simony look good. Not to mention Erin was one of the hottest girls Simony had laid eyes on in quite some time. I mean, there were beautiful women in the Japanese side of things too, but Erin had that athletic skater riot grrrrrrrrl look down so cold.</p><p> </p><p>

But Simony noticed something besides Erin's looks...... and that was Erin's looks. Specifically, the long looks she seemed to have towards other gaijin sometimes, in the locker room while they were changing from street clothes to ring gear. Simony even noticed Erin looking at her a time or two, before quickly looking away and probably blushing into her locker.......</p><p> </p><p>

<em>Heeeehhhh, so that's how it is.......</em></p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p><p> </p><p>

<img alt="rBQxkob.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/rBQxkob.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p></div><p></p><p></p><p> </p><p>

Ted was really feeling it at the moment. He had a nice text with Layla pre-show, who was still somehow looking forward to their date, Fuyuko hadn't hit anyone yet, 5-Star was starting to pick up some real steam, and he even managed to be very slightly ahead in the traditional guys poker game this time, instead of just donating his money. Not to mention work on the Japanese side was going well, even if Alexander seemed to not be giving a damn about that part. In their infrequent meetings, you could tell Alexander cared a lot more about his daughter than about the Japanese business contracts that were supposed to be the big reason for Ted being over there in the first place.</p><p> </p><p>

But hey, regardless of what was going on, Alexander was content, Ted was getting paid, and he might have a girlfriend soon. What could possibly go wrong?</p>

5 Star Supreme Wrestling comes at you live for another episode of Showcase TV, featuring the 3rd night of the Queendom Parade Tour on Girls Festival Day, taking place in the Shohoku Academy Gymnasium in Kobe, Japan!</p><p> </p><p>

Our opening match sees the violet-haired American Simony Sentinel aim to go 3-0, as she takes on veteran Ochiyo Iijima.</p><p> </p><p>

In our second match, Fuyuko Higa will team with two ladies of similar disposition lately, the TermiNation, to take on the Sunset Riders and Erin Marcelin.</p><p> </p><p>

The Hell Raisers are clearly gunning for the tag team titles, and they will be in action against the promising American duo known as Synchro Wave.</p><p> </p><p>

Next is singles action, and sees two veteran high flyers go at it with Yukiko Matsumara taking on Kaede Sugiyama.</p><p> </p><p>

Both members of Team SUB look to be in decent position for a World title shot, and they'll be taking on the young Kanto Express to stake their claim to a match against the champion.</p><p> </p><p>

Speaking of the champion, she'll be involved in 8-woman tag action in the co-main, as World champion Yuma Maruya teams with HEART Saitoh, Miwako Katsukawa, and Eri Sato to take on Connie Morris, Paige Croft, Lady Lotus, and Monster Ishimura.</p><p> </p><p>

Finally, our main event is an intriguing one, as Megumi Nakajima takes on Gemmei Oonishi. Nakajima has made no secret of her desire to accept any challenge that comes from Fuyuko Higa, but how will she fare against Higa's tag team partner?</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>---</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

Outside the prediction key, poor Erin is getting stiffed, isn't she (Simony will make it better, I am sure) and Higa is going to be...diplomatically speaking, unhelpful to her partner.
