Quality regen came through. Gave up smoking, got ripped and bulked up to Light Heavyweight in 3 months. Left with a world class Brawler, freak Athlete and 99 Menace rolled into one. Not much chop entertainment wise nor Psychology but for a 22yr rookie? Hell of a prospect.</p>

<p>End of 2022</p><p> </p><p>

I finally got round to booking the end of 2022. It was a very tough year, I ran 16 shows and made a loss of about 3k and only gained 3 pop for my company. No wonder my character picked up a drug habit to go with his drinking:</p><p> </p><p>

<em>13. “P-A-R-T-why? Cos I Gotta!” Add "Soft Drug User" to your character’s addictions. If you have this already then upgrade to "Heavy Soft Drug User" or "Former Soft Drug User" if previously a Heavy Soft Drug User.</em></p><p> </p><p>

The industry is rising now after bottoming out in November and i've dumped some high earners so i'm hoping to make good progress in 2023.</p>

I feel like after Patch 1.17 the starting money for this needs to be adjusted as it's not possible to avoid bankruptcy with a 0 pop company with only $1000 anymore. Before you could start turning a profit around month five, but now that is more like month ten or eleven and then they close you down at put you out of business in month fourteen.

So I just finished my first year running entirely in patch 1.17 and after. Using a very barebones roster of my UC 3 wrestlers average salaries of $30 per show each no referee and Honest Frank (owner) working for free. The economy was above 50 the whole time and the industry above 70, but because of the reduction to growth rate I finished the year $3k in the hole. Without an increase to the starting company finances I don’t believe this challenge will be feasible anymore.

I just ran a test, it should still be possible.

With a rather small, but not entirely barebones roster costing $450 a month, running 2 free shows monthly, I broke a profit in the third month. The quick pop gain seems to be key to surviving on recent patches, so I'd highly recommend free shows to start.

2020 is in the bag, and The Enigma has made steady (if not spectacular) progress.

EIPbUjp.png

We ran 12 shows for the year, with a highest rating of 35 in our December show. We lucked out with a good starting economy (now 74 and falling, but peaked at 89) so started making money in June and actually moved out of the red in December.

Our biggest star is currently Dangermouth, who has held the title for the entire year. Our user character feuded over the title for about six months, before discovering excellent chemistry when teaming with Chuck Frisby. Plans for 2021 include launching tag belts for our User Character to feud over with the newly signed Youth Bandits (Ian Vincible & Cannonball Logan). Hopefully working with three veterans will help with our development.

2020 End Of Year Roll

8. "Where There’s A Will" One of your die hard fans has passed on bequeathing their worldly possessions to your promotion. Do you accept it or donate it to charity? Gain EITHER $56,609 or +5 Prestige

While the money would allow us to bring in better workers, I'm happy continuing our slow progress for now. I took the prestige boost (2.4 -> 7.4) as I think this will help more going forwards.

Jumping back into my old save. Gonna try to see if I can get my overness above 75. If I still can't, I'm not sure this save is worth continuing. Going to be incredibly difficult to get a 100 match rating being capped at 75. I can hope through playing years and years I improve my in ring ability to such a point that being overness capped at 75 is fine, but I'm not sure I really wanna do that. I'll certainly be doing a new save regardless once Derek B finished the CV97 mod. I may be doing another default database one as well, we'll see.

Has anyone completed this challenge? Has anyone gotten a match rating of higher than 99? I've gotten two matches rated as such, one as a 98 and two more as a 97. 19 total matches of over a 90 rating. Granted the 99's happened in November and December, so the last 2 months of in game play time. Also noticed my SQ started somewhere in the low to mid 60's. Even with the steroid roll, it's only gone up to a 68. And if overness caps are calculated prior to game start, my SQ rising is irrelevant.

Year two is in the bag and our progress has really kicked on. We started the year by winning the newly formed tag titles with tag partner Chuck Frisby, who we had great chemistry with. However, it was the move to bring in Martin Heath and Jon Michael Sharp that really helped us develop. They jumped right into a feud with our user character over the tag belts, and working with two quality workers regularly really kicked us on.

LCF also moved to two shows a month in February, turning a small profit every month doing so. By the middle of the year Heath & Sharp had won the tag titles, and not long after Martin Heath took the main title off of Augustus Bumblescoop. Our User Character then dropped Frisby, blaming him for losing the tag belts, and went after Heath & Sharp himself - culminating in our user character winning the main belt from Heath on the final show of the year in a 50 rated match (the companies best of the save), which Main Evented a 46 rated show (again best of the save).

We finished the year in a great position, but annoyingly Lone Wolf Wrestling opened up to knock us down to 37th in the world and fail one of our owner goals. Our owner rating has gone from Excellent to Very Low, so we'll have to keep an eye on that.

The company is up to 14 pop in the South, so we should be hitting Tiny next year.

And for our roll we got...

50. "Grounded in Reality" You've discovered a new found ability to play Realistic gimmicks and prefer to have back up, add "Plays Realistic Well" and “Tag Team Specialist” to your attributes

Meh. Not bad, not good.

Aims for 2022 are to hit Tiny with LCF and get onto Wrestleworld UK to work on our pop nationwide.

Rolling into 2024, my UC can now pull low to mid 80's performance ratings in matches. My company finally achieved a 100 rated match, and did so twice. Numerous other 97+ matches throughout the year. Multiple 99's on a handful of shows. Nearly everyone on my roster is now a Star or a Major Star. As a result, Rocky isn't gonna be as good of a figurehead, but we're pulling in so much money it's irrelevant. My dev company is the biggest company in the world, surpassing USPW despite being on the same broadcaster as I, they got +8 to US regional pop per month, while I get 2-3. Hawaii and Puerto Rico are all that's keeping me from reaching the next tier of size. Broadcaster is maxed in every single region. At this point, I'm really only booking my PPVs. The weekly show gets autobooked. I'm only interested in that 100 rated match going forward and the end of year rolls to continue to hopefully improve my UC. Between Ernest Youngman, Jay Chord, Aaron Knight, KC Glenn and others, I've got plenty of dance partners that can pull high 90's, and in the case of Youngman and Knight, consistently 100 in ring performance ratings. Those 2 are in a tag with good chemistry and my UC has tag team specialist, so it looks like the way to go is gonna be to find a guy that is good in ring, get a tag team with my UC, max experience and hope that happens before Youngman and Knight decline.

Legendary Angle - Be involved in a 100 Rated Angle

39. "The Real Rock n' Rolla" You've filled in for a band member one night, who now wants to you tour with them as a result. +5 points to spend across Charisma and Microphone. Also add Musician to Misc for your character. If rolled 3 times upgrade to Famous Musician

Microphone 62 --> 67

End of 2023 Roll

37. “Snow To An Eskimo” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Selling skill

Selling 77 --> 82

We made it through Year Three, and it was certainly an eventful one! The plan for the year was to run two shows a month to maximise our growth, but our owner (Jackie Goldstein) scuppered those plans in March when he announced he wanted to change the product to a Family Friendly Wrestling style, which limited our growth for 9 months. Because of this we moved back to one show a month for the rest of the year to save on worker costs.

Luckily we did manage to hit Tiny in April, just after Goldstein announced the product change, but we remain at just 18 pop at the end of the year with just over 52k in the bank.

Our user character started and ending the year as champion, but I do have plans to move the title back to Martin Heath early next year. I need to get the Tag Titles off of Heath & Sharp as they're too big for them, but nobody's over enough to take them off them, so I'm going to have my character goad Heath into giving up the titles for 'one last shot' and Heath go over.

Another year of working with mostly Heath & Sharp has seen us improve dramatically once again, and we're actually putting on decent matches now (for our size). We put on a 64 defending the title against Heath in September on a 56 rated show... which brings me nicely onto our achievement rolls. We achieved three this year, although I applied all of them at the end of the year rather than as I completed them.

ACHIEVEMENTS

New to RTG in 2020 are achievements. Previously you would get a mystery box roll at the end of every year, now you can roll when you first achieve the following:

Match Grades

First Step - Earn a Match Grade of 50 or More With Your Wrestler

5. "Lean On Me" Gain Strong Friendship with random wrestler in your promotion. Any addictions from your character's and your new friend’s attributes are set to Former.

We rolled one of our lower card guys in Colin Picalo. Meh.

Event Grades

Fresh New Indie - Produce an Event Card of 50

43. "This here's what you call Domination" You've discovered a new found ability to Dominate, add "Plays Dominant Well" and “Squash Master” to your attributes

I'll probably never use it, but nice enough

Company Growth

Hello World - Work for a Tiny company

22. "Fists and Feet of Fury" Heavy bag, speed bag, heavy bag, speed bag…you’ve been working hard, +5 to your Brawling, Puroresu or Hardcore skill

I added all five points to brawling, taking us from 38 to 43

End Of Year Roll

37. “Snow To An Eskimo” You have devoted your holiday season to training in the ring +5 to your Selling skill

51 ->56

Goals for 2023 are to try and jump ship to a Small sized company - preferably one not too far from Medium. The WLW booking job did come up in September, but unfortunately I didn't get it. I think jumping ship is the right move, as after the lack of popularity gain due to the product change this year LCF is still a loooong way from Small.

We might need to reset the challenge this time around. Unless the overness cap has been patched, getting a 100 rated match looks to be far too difficult. Added to this are DJ's comments about survival at the start of saves being more challenging.

Any suggestions are welcome. The obvious solution is to drop the completion requirement to a 99 rated match but increase the victory conditions around it. (e.g. your wrestler must have a 99 rated match in a PPV main event singles match for a company of at least large size)

Or instead of having one victory condition have points for achievements and see who can get the highest score (e.g. one point per company size increase, one point for every year booked, one point for every 99 rated match - to a max of ten, five points for selling out the biggest stadium on the game - ten points for getting into the Hall of Immortals.)

Just to add more facts to the debate, i'm in year four of my game and the big promotions have had the following:

BHOTWG - 2 99's and 4 98's

EILL - 2 100's and 15 99's (El Hereo Mexicano was involved in all but one of those matches)

SWF - 1 100 and 16 99's

TCW - 1 99

USPW - 1 99

Three 100 rated matches in nearly four years tells me that they are near impossible to get

Well this is the first year the challenge has been to get to 100 it has previously been a 95/A* limit so you could just drop back to that.

I'm currently playing in 2029 and had my first 100 rated match in March 2029. I've seen a healthy sprinkling of them in other promotions...the big 3 in particular. I've been playing as ACPW and then CZCW so I've been limited by a smaller pool of talent to work with, but I had a couple of 97's in 2027 (tag matches) and eventually got the right combo to get a 100 singles match...PPV Main event for Main Title belt. Worker pop is obviously critical, but if I remember Frankie-Boy is at 90 pop, and my avatar was at 79/80...his match rating was in mid 90's, while mine was in 80's. From my vantage point, you've got to have so many things working...momentum, storyline, perhaps a title belt involved, and two good workers who work well together...the right guy going over.

I'd say stick with it...it can be super frustrating to get so close and feel like you've hit a roadblock, but honestly, a 'perfect' match shouldn't be something that happens 20-30 times a year. '100' is just that...perfect...and how many of those do we see in a 10 year period in real life? Keep at it.

While i've been thinking about the challenge I have also been carrying on with my save. I've reached the end of 2023 and just hit small. We have $100k in the bank and since I might need to restart anyway I decided to take a risk and up the production levels to sign up with Wrestleworld. We lost $13k in the first month so hopefully ticket sales pick up quickly enough to get close to breaking even by the time the $100k runs out.

Roll for hitting small: 24. “Aerial Assassin” You have devoted yourself to climbing that turnbuckle, +5 to your Aerial or Flashiness skill

Roll for the end of 2023: 17. “I Fought The Law And The Law Won” Add "Chequered Past" to your character's personality. If you have this already upgrade to "Often in Trouble" and if needed, "Most Wanted"

Moving to Wrestleworld was a great success! We lost 55k in the first half of the year but grew to the point where we we are now making about 5k a month with one show. The size increase has been amazing; we grew 12 popularity points in the Midlands, 11 in the North and South and a few points in Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

Glorious George still needs a lot more experience though, we need to get to a stage where we can profitabily run 5 shows a month:

Roll for the end of 2024:

14. “UHHHHHHH, WHAT A RUSHHHHHHHH” Add "Hard Drug User" to your character’s addictions. If you have this already then upgrade to "Heavy Hard Drug User" or "Former Hard Drug User" if previously a Heavy Hard Drug User.

Ugh, this guy is cursed. He is now a drinking, soft drug using, hard drug using ex criminal!

I've decided to have another run at this, now that I've got a bit more of a handle on this years game. So I've founded Northwest Championship Wrestling based, predictably, in the North West region. I didn't set an owner, and got Nathan Coleman assigned to me - not great, but could be worse.

The aim of the early game in this challenge seems to be running as many shows as possible without burning too much money. So I decided to run an 'invasion' storyline of sorts to kick things off at NCW. The loose story was that the GSW American champion Deaf Touch was invited to NCW's first show for a shot to become the first NCW United States Champion. He ultimately came up short against future NCW loyalist Remmy Skye, but this proved the catalyst for a band of IPW wrestlers to invade NCW's second show (4x $20 workers led by JOJI). This in turn annoyed GSW, who sent their own band of 4x $20 workers led by Brown Pride. This gave a me a revolving band of workers with a reason to be there and helped to keep the match ups fresh.

The 'Invasions' were fought off by NCW loyalists led by Remmy Skye and my UC, culminating in a Triple Threat Cage match in September between Remmy, JOJI and MexiCain for control of the company. Remmy Skye won with a Crazy Bump, winning NCW the 'war'.

To celebrate, in November NCW held 'Best In The West'. A friendly Best of 5 competition with CZCW - who we have a Kayfabe friendly relationship with. With the tournament delicately poised at 2-2, the undefeated Remmy Skye met CZCW's Carlos Barrera in the Main Event - the winner would walk away with both the victory for their team AND the NCW United States Championship. In a shock, Miguel Rivera interfered to help Carlos Barrera beat Remmy Skye and take the belt back to the South West. December's show then saw Notorious defeat Remmy Skye & my UC in the Main Event, meaning that Barrera heads into 2021 with the belt and all the momentum.

Plans for next year involve a Remmy vs Notorious feud for the first part of the year, and continuing to give my UC promo time and exposure to some better opponents.

My UC starting stats:

ej3YeYH.png

Stats after Year One:

IRIaK5W.png

A quiet first year - an average match rating of 29 isn't anything to write home about, although a win-loss ration of 12-6 means we're up to 19 pop in our home region of the North West.

End of 2020 roll:

44. “Super Awesome Wrestling-A-Go-Go: Electric Boogaloo” You are suddenly hilarious, add "Plays Comedy Well" and “Comedy worker” to your attributes

Not the best roll as we're not a Comedy promotion. Hoping for my first 50 rated match next year (potentially vs Remmy), so hopefully we'll be getting two rolls for 2021.

Regal Ronald Sampson and Gold Class Wrestling

I am pushing through this gradually but it's very slow going rn as I ease my way through 2023, in July atm. 2022 came and passed with the slow growth but the match quality and my wrestler was much the same as the previous year.

Here's some highlights from 2022.

Best show of 2022

DT6PfsE.png

Milestones

Not So Small After All - Work for a Small company

26. “If you smeeeeeeeeeeelll!!” That new catchphrase of yours has really caught on, you heard someone in the street say it! Add “Hot New Catchphrase” to your attributes.

Already got this one before so I guess he just keeps coming up with catchphrases.

2022 End of Year Roll

45. “It’s Not Arrogance If You Can Back It Up” You've now got a bit of swagger in your step, add "Plays Swagger Well" and “Selfish Performer” to your attributes

My man really turning into Triple H huh? I decided to give my self a limitation as "Selfish Performer" doesn't really come across when you're a user character, so Regal Ronald Sampson has decided he ain't putting anyone over if they way less than Middleweight and have a star quality of at least 60 brother.

Mid 2023 Update

Really starting to pull in the money now, a deal with WrestleWorld and actually drawing a crowd upwards of 1000 means that It's just about me increasing the company pop by doing a ton of shows. Currently pulling an AJPW and doing a Summer Series of events leading to a finale. Keep losing stars to the other American companies that are doing pretty damn well. Lost The Masked Mauler IV and Sandman Winks to NYCW, Austin Smooth to PSW and biggest hit, Papa Swoll to SWF. Charlie Corner and Forrest Ratzloff are currently recieving the two biggest upcoming pushes in the company but Nate DeMarcus is still GCW Royal Heavyweight Champion and has been for 549 Days and 20 defences.

Good luck Charismatic Enigma, it's tough challenge this year.

My game has turned upside down because I managed to land the bookers job at TCW! They are struggling right now, all the big stars have left and Wolf Hawkins is dead. Roderick Remus is world champion and although he's no Aaron Andrews he is doing a great job.

I teamed Glorious George up with Aaron Knight as The Commonwealth so he should gain skills quickly. I was part of an 80 rated tag match on the last TCW Presents Total Wrestling (despite having an in-ring performance of 34!) so here's another roll:

38. “Casting Call" You have been cast in a small TV show, next stop Hollywood! +5 points to spend across Charisma and Acting. Also add TV Actor to Misc for your character. If previously your character had "TV Actor" add "Movie Star"

Yes! Not an addiction for once! I can always use more charisma so I upped it from 62 to 67.

I am now a hard drinking, soft and hard drug taking, TV actor with a chequered past - no wonder I play badass so well. All at 23 years old too.

Year two is in the bag for NCW. We're still Insignificant size, but we're up to 14 popularity in our home region of the North West. We're now making over 3k a month running two shows, so hopefully we'll hit Tiny by the middle of 2022.

The year started with Remmy Skye trying to get his title back from Carlos Barrera. Barrera had back up from Miguel Rivera, and Notorious managed to hold Remmy off for four months, before the Rainbow warrior took his title back to become the first two time NCW United States champion.

The next talking point was in May - which saw a Tag Team invitational to crown the first NCW Tag Team champions, which were won by The Hot Taggs. Kalder & Wolfie were able to hold on to the titles until the final show of the year, when my UC and his new partner Hard-1 (who we found chemistry with) took the belts off them.

September saw the inaugural 'Road To Glory' tournament, where the winner would earn a US title shot at Stairway To Heaven. The tournament was won by El Jaguar, who then went on to beat Remmy Skye in the resultant Ladder match. November saw the 2nd 'Best In The West' competition between NCW & CZCW. El Jaguar earned Heel heat by leading team CZCW in the event as the reigning NCW United States champion. NCW went 2-1 up, but El Jaguar introduced his tag partner Tigre Salvaje Jr to even up the scores. The Main Event saw new NCW signing Joffy Laine challenge for the title, but El Jaguar held on to the title and stole the win for team CZCW after blasting Joffy with the title belt behind the referees back. El Jaguar ends the year as champion, but has both Remmy Skye and Joffy Laine hot on his heels.

While it was another quiet year of improvement for my UC, the NCW roster took great strides forward. We bought in Prime Time Jack Pryde, who is a NBT and has feuded with my UC for most of the year. We also found another NBT in regen Jerry Smash who has 87 Charisma and 87 Microphone! The Main Event has also strengthened, with a core group of Joffy Laine, Remmy Skye, Omar, El Jaguar and Tigre Salvaje Jr all able to consistently put on Main Events in the 50's.

Year Two Stats:

vaqZ4L2.png

End of 2021 roll:

27. “RTGdow” Everyone is in the industry is talking about your recent performances, add “Flavour of the Month” to your attributes

One of the best rolls on the list! The plans for 2021 are to hit Tiny asap, then I think the quickest play is to jump to a Small company if one becomes available - although I'm not sure how easy getting booking roles is on this years game. I have to say I'm really enjoying this challenge so far, long may it continue!

If i may ask, what's the use of the "become a protege from someone? or becoming a tv/mma whatever? " because you cannot get the pops or advantages they offer, yeah the mma fighter and actor give you some stat boosts, but the attributes do legit nothing since a user character can't get pops like protege improvements. Same with dating, outside of a backstage boost it does nothing.

Also will the challenge get updated with the new attributes like golden mane and stuff?

<p>2022 is done and dusted, and the big news was that NCW finally completed our rise to Tiny in May. Remmy Skye once again spent most of the year as champion, winning the title back in January and holding it to the penultimate show of the year. Unfortunately the 40 year old has now hit time decline, so I have moved the title onto our new top babyface Joffy Laine. </p><p> </p><p>

The sad news for the year was when Omar broke his neck in March, one show before a planned Heel turn - robbing me of one of my three reliable Main Eventers and my planned top Heel to replace the departed El Jaguar. The only other major news was the signing of Ash Barnaby & Zach Rudge to reform the Paratroopers and win Tag Team gold.</p><p> </p><p>

Year Three Stats:</p><p>

A year of steady, if unspectacular improvement for my UC. We have a bumper set of rolls this year, with four chances to get something good! We forgot to roll for a 50 rated show last year (new best is 65 shown below), and this year we added a 50 rated UC match and the rise to Tiny. Throw in the normal end of year roll and that makes our four.</p><p> </p><p>

End of year roll:</p><p> </p><p>

45. “It’s Not Arrogance If You Can Back It Up” You've now got a bit of swagger in your step, add "Plays Swagger Well" and “Selfish Performer” to your attributes</p><p> </p><p>

Some good rolls there. I made myself 'Better at Babyface' as that's what I'm running at the moment, but the one I'm most excited about is actually the a"Friends With Benefits". I'm going to apply to join the COTT and hope they let me in. If I can get one of their belts on my UC - that's more matches to help him develop and will help build my pop in other areas.</p>

So far I have found that the most difficult thing about this is the hard cap on popularity raises. Running this the way I finished my challenge in the previous edition I just end up losing money because running 10 events a month means nothing when you're capped at 1 or 2 popularity gain. You could easily go from Local to Regional in 9 months using that method, it was 100% gaming the system. Now I'm trying to figure out what the sweet spot for events is to get my maximum 3 pop in 2 months so im not wasting extra money.

This all being said, I'm still determined to do it. Might take a lot longer but I'm okay with that~
