The Ballad of Zack Avatar (C-Verse 2005)

Recommended Posts

I'm calling a mulligan, now that I've balanced the C-Verse 2005 data. I'm starting over, but the beginning surprisingly looks exactly the same.

It’s December 2005. The professional wrestling world has some of the best, most popular talent it’s ever seen. Japan, in particular, is filled with mega stars, allowing BHOTWG and PGHW to be seen as two of the top promotions in the world. But the American scene is where 3 of the top 5 live. There are several promotions looking for a new head booker to bring them into the new year, and that’s where I come in…

RghXmUU.jpg

My name is Zack Avatar. I’m 17 and have freshly completed professional wrestling training under the talented Steve Flash. I want to be a booker, so I’m going to put my application in. I’m willing to travel, and I may have to. In the US, NYCW and CZCW are hiring. Maybe Steve can put in a good word for me in New York. Japan has availability in both of the development territories, Hinote Dojo and SAISHO. I could develop along with the next generation of Japanese stars. Britain has a couple positions, as both ROF and MOSC are looking for new bookers to grow the country’s fanbase. And finally, down under in Australia. AdePro, MWF, and ARW are all looking to hire someone. It’s not hard to send an e-mail and a letter to each promotion, so I did.

After a week of waiting, I heard back. America wasn’t interested. Neither was Japan. The UK wasn’t looking for any foreign talent, either. But Australia is the new land of opportunity. AdePro was happy with another choice, but ARW and MWF both offered me a job.

Aussie Rules Wrestling is an Extreme Hardcore style promotion. Lots of violence, lots of brawling, not much else. It’s owned by Manfred Marx, who set the promotion up in direct competition to the MWF.

Ch2511W.jpg

The Melbourne Wrestling Federation is the largest promotion in the country. Though, that’s not saying much… Kevin Leonhardsen set the company up in an attempt to gain fame and fortune with Australia’s view of sports entertainment.

I’m not much of a hardcore wrestler, so I accepted the position with MWF. Looks like I’m heading to the land down under!

<p>The biggest problem with MWF is there are only two faces, Kerry Wayne and the Kipper, well, and me, so that’s three. This is a huge problem. Sports entertainment needs the battle between good and evil. So I need to put out some feelers immediately.</p><p> </p><p>

My first order of business is prepare for my first show with MWF… tomorrow night! I’d better start writing and e-mailing and hope I can make it to Melbourne in time! (I’m going to have to catch a flight immediately, being from the Great Lakes and all…) I’ll have to get acquainted with the roster, but at least I have plenty of time in the air.)</p><p> </p><p>

I also received an e-mail from Kevin with some goals. We must be more popular in Oceania in 2 years. No one Impactful can be hired and no one older than 40. I can work with that.</p><p> </p><p>

My notes on the roster:</p><p> </p><p>

</p><div style="text-align:center;"><p></p><div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="4TQWhk9.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/4TQWhk9.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Captain Wrestling</span> – MWF Heavyweight Champion since April 2005</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

He’s a good hand with decent psychology. His charisma is average. He’s a good athlete and that sets him apart. He’s also in the top few percent of known wrestlers in Australia.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="Q5ViZyi.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/Q5ViZyi.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Lanny Williams</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Technical wrestler. Understands psychology. Probably our best wrestler.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="cYcmy9p.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/cYcmy9p.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Molokai Milk</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Charismatic brawler. Being wasted as a heel. Could be top face in short amount of time.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="pjFmwCG.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/pjFmwCG.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Hatemonger</span> – MWF Tag Team Champion since March 2005</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

One half of the Apocalypse. Rookie brawler. Has a long way to go, but decent athlete.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="KzrXqya.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/KzrXqya.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Warmonger</span> – MWF Tag Team Champion since March 2005</p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Other half of the Apocalypse. Better athlete. More charismatic. Important.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="NsKagdu.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/NsKagdu.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Echo</span> </p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Flashy technical brawler. Very charismatic. Seems to get it. He’s your typical cocky youth.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="i9pUCAW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/i9pUCAW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Gregory Grace</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Good athlete. Solid brawler. Young, but seems to get it. Says he’s God’s Gift to wrestling.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="ADkUs9b.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/ADkUs9b.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Angus McMiller</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

The tax man gets by on entertainment skills. Not much of a wrestler, but not awful.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="wklpb2c.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wklpb2c.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">C-W-A</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

An angry clown. Hardcore brawler. Quite charismatic. Decent athlete.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="SL9I6HK.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/SL9I6HK.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">The Kipper</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

He’s a hand. Not a great one, but he will be useful for a wild brawl.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="oyLYd7l.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/oyLYd7l.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Seeker</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Flashy all-rounder. Good charisma. Good athlete. Drawback is he’s a lightweight.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="iLSEFiZ.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/iLSEFiZ.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Mauler</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Uncharismatic brawler. Good enough athlete. One half of S&M Connection.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="wz8ZQlc.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/wz8ZQlc.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Smasher</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Weak brawler. Doesn’t bring much to the table. Other half of S&M Connection.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="deAZMQW.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/deAZMQW.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Frankie Robertson</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Rookie brawler. Better basics than some of the vets. Very bad entertainment skills.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="lgav6T1.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/lgav6T1.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Kerry Wayne</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Ultra charismatic brawler. Probably safe to say he’s the future of Australian wrestling. He just needs some good feuds to build him up.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="PZHnZ5H.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/PZHnZ5H.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#FF0000;">Sulphur</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Big. Menacing. Abysmal. We’ll see what we can do with that. Managed by Sean Quartermainne.</p><p> </p><p>

</p><p><img alt="RghXmUU.jpg" data-src="https://i.imgur.com/RghXmUU.jpg" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><div style="text-align:center;"><p>

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Zack Avatar</span></p></div><p></p><p></p><p>

Another charismatic brawler. Excellent basic skills. Unknown in Australia.</p><p> </p><p>

Teams & Stables:</p><p> </p><p>

The Apocalypse</p><p>

Hatemonger and Warmonger</p><p> </p><p>

S&M Connection</p><p>

Smasher & Mauler</p><p> </p><p>

The United</p><p>

Captain Wrestling, Lanny Williams, Molokai Milk, and Sulphur</p></div><p></p><p> </p><p>

Lastly, it seems that the economy of Oceania is totally average as can be, but rising. Although the Wrestling Industry is doing poorly and only getting worse. Let’s see how that affects us.</p>

Hmmm… AdePro is going after people I want to hire and trying to hire people on my roster away. I wouldn’t see any problem with it were ARW or SHW doing this, they run Saturdays. But AdePro runs on Sundays, just like we do…

New Signings for Week 2, December 2005:

F8K7ytj.jpg

Armando Guerrero

He’s not particularly tough or powerful, but he has some decent skills and charisma.

AYXQKkS.jpg

Blake Belushi

Australia’s top wrestler. One half of the Melbourne Blondes, plenty of charisma, star quality, and sex appeal.

tH6pKfQ.jpg

Blaze Maximum

Young, flashy brawler, plenty charismatic.

SajNppn.jpg

Debonair David Peterson

Excellent hand in the ring and one of the most popular wrestlers in the country.

Zlya2eS.jpg

Dumfrey Pinn

The mob boss has loads of charisma, even if his in-ring skills are poor.

WXzUpV9.jpg

Jimmy Stratosphere

One half of the Rising Suns, Jimmy is a technician flyer with a lot of charisma.

lVTbDtN.jpg

Lee Bawes

The Sultan of the Suplex is a good technical worker, but no charisma to speak of.

CJ52ZKU.jpg

Motty Kuroda

Jimmy Stratosphere’s partner. He’s not as good as his teammate.

BvKalr8.jpg

Rick Stantz

Arguably Australia’s second best wrestler. The other half of the Melbourne Blondes. He is a total package.

bcfyc5u.jpg

Whirlwind Lee Wilkes

A decent all around wrestler. Not really great at anything, but not terrible either.

82cDbxH.jpg

Sean Quartermainne

The top manager in Ocenaia. He’ll be paired with the United, as they could use a manager for their dastardly deeds.

We’ve added the following Tag Teams:

A Pair of Lees (Lee Bawes and Whirlwind Lee Wilkes)

The Melbourne Blondes (Blake Belushi and Rick Stantz)

The Rising Suns (Jimmy Stratosphere and Motty Kuroda)

By the Grace of God (Echo and Gregory Grace)

I’ve also decided to put our events up on WeView. Maybe we’ll do something good and get some hits.

Next week’s card:

The Apocalypse vs. A Pair of Lees

Sulphur vs. Armando Guerrero

By the Grace of God vs. The Rising Suns

Seeker and ??? vs. Kerry Wayne and ???

Molokai Milk vs. The Kipper

A veteran of the Australian scene. He has the ability to put on a decent match with the right people.

MWF Likes It Fresh!

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Warmonger picked a fight with Spiffy Stan Standish and beat him up. Fined. Warmonger very unhappy.

Hatemonger picked a fight with the Comedian. Fined. Hatemonger angry.

Motty Kuroda and Frankie Robertson taken to wrestler’s court by Lanny Williams.

I’ve been with this group for two months. I’ve gotten rid of some troublemakers, but there’s a lot of residual anger in the air. I decided to hold an Open Forum for those who were upset. Grievances were aired…

Basically, all the wrestlers who have been here awhile aired their issues and felt better about it. It, unfortunately, didn’t make the locker room any better overall, but it’s a start. The beatings will continue if morale doesn’t improve…

  • Jeff Waters def. Jethro Butcher (17)
  • Kerry Wayne and Loxley Robbins def. Gods of War (20)
  • Spiffy Stan Standish talks with Mitch Bryson at ringside, stating he will be at the top of this company before long. Zack Avatar comes out and says he needs to prove himself in the ring. (24)
  • Zack Avatar def. Spiffy Stan Standish (19)
  • Rick Stantz def. C-W-A (23)
  • Mitch Bryson begins to interview Rick Stantz when The Apocalypse run out and beat him down. They want their rematch. (25)
  • The United def. The Kipper and The Comedian via a distraction by Dumfrey Pinn and help by Sean Quartermainne (28)
  • The Comedian pulls Mitch Bryson over and challenges Dumfrey Pinn to a fight. Pinn says he’s too busy to bungle with the likes of him and walks away. (37)

<p>Honey Golightly offered me the job in Las Vegas. I thought about it, and then decided to turn it down. Both Debonair David Peterson and The Kipper are on the mend with broken fingers. They should both be good to go by the next time I want them in the ring, luckily.</p><p> </p><p>
