But I ain’t giving you the opportunity to profit off of it by doing some retirement match, I’ll go out on my terms so to hell with you and your company! I’ll start my own company and run you out of business, see how you like me then!” “Whatever you say Scott, I’ll see you on Wednesday for the show.” “Screw your show!” That idiot thinks I’m done? Maybe I am, but I ain’t letting anyone else decide that but me. Eric thinks I’ve not got anything in the tank, I’ll show him. He thought I was joking when I said I’d start my own company, I’ll show him. I’ve been in this business for 26 years, you don’t hang about for that long, and in so many different companies, without picking up a few tricks of the trade. Helps that I’ve got such a marketable name, got more than enough star power left in me to attract investors, not to mention the money I put aside. See, ol’ Scotty ain’t so stupid after all. So a few calls here and there and I can put together the capital for a startup promotion. And people will come, you don’t think everyone wants to see what a wrestling show promoted by the great Big Smack Scott looks like? I even have a name and location all lined up. She looked great for her age!”</p><p> </p><p> It’ll take some work to get the place looking how I want it, flooring will take some work to make it ready for a ring and we’ll have to get rid of all the booths, but the place is big enough to fit 3, maybe 400 people at a real push if we ever open up the balcony areas. The two bars on either side of the joint will make it a good time that’s for sure, and you throw in competitive drink prices I’m betting we’ll get plenty of people coming in to grab a pint for the beach and realising they’ve walked into a hell of a show.</p><p> </p><p> “You really think you can do this Scott, run a wrestling company?”</p><p> </p><p> “Trust me Kurt, I’ve got it all worked out. Now don’t get me wrong, we’re gonna have wrestling, good wrestling. She’d actually ignored his first few calls but he was persistent, and she thought that she at least owed that persistence the right to a phone call. Criminals got less after all. As soon as he’d told her what he wanted to speak about she had every intention of saying no but then he offered to pay for her to drive down to Miami beach and, well, to be honest she was happy for the brief vacation. Which is how she, a former NOTBPW Woman’s Champion, was sat in an office listening to Big Smack Scott of all people trying to convince her to come and work for him. “Scott, let me stop you there-“ “Please, call me Big.” She was not calling him that. “Look Scott, I’ve done my time in the big leagues and sure, now I’m happy working a few independent dates a month for local shows, but Miami isn’t exactly local for me. I live in Ontario, you know that right?” “Ontario isn’t Miami. Come on, think about it, a few days every month you get to come down to the beach and put on a great wrestling show! What’s not to love about that?” I mean when he put it like that she couldn’t argue, especially if he was going to cover her flights. But then she remembered who she was talking to. “Don’t take offence or anything Scott, but you’re asking me to work for a company called Miami Pound Machine… run by Big Smack Scott. You don’t see why I’d have some trepidation about that?” “You worked for Babes of Sin City!” “To try and help them be serious wrestlers! I’m not coming down here so I can help you put a few girls in bikinis and pretend it’s a wrestling match. That’s not my style.” And at that Scott actually started laughing. “Let me get this straight. You think that because of who I am that Miami Pound Machine isn’t going to be serious about the women’s wrestling it promotes?” “You see where I’d get that idea right?” “Tam, I’m not stupid! I know what people want. They don’t come out to a wrestling show to watch some softcore girl on girl action, they’ve got the internet for that, they come out to watch wrestling, and sure if the girls are hot that’s a bonus. I’m not trying to become a joke here, I want to promote a proper company, and if I’ve got Tamara McFly on my books then people will take that seriously. You get me?” Wow, when did Big Smack Scott become self-aware? If he was telling the truth, and it was a big if, then maybe that was something Tamara could get behind. Another place for the women to work was always a good thing and if she could maybe filter out some of Scott’s wilder ideas then maybe this could actually be something. She’d already heard rumblings that he’d brought in a few solid talents, if a bit rough around the edges. “Sun, the ocean waves, and a women’s division you can be proud of. Now try and tell me that doesn’t sound appealing.” It did, he wasn’t wrong. Somehow, someway, Tamara McFly was going to end this day signing up for a promotion run by Big Smack Scott. I am Jim Lou Freebrush-" Smith: "And I’m Mac Smith, what’s up bruh, nice to meet you!" Freebrush: "We’ve met before Mac, literally earlier today." Smith: "I don't remember that at all, you must have an incredibly forgettable face Jim." Freebrush: "Just fantastic. As I was going to say I’m Jim Lou Freebrush and I’m joined tonight by my broadcast colleague Mac Smith for the first ever episode of Miami Pound Machine. We’re live from the Tiki Bar right here on Miami Beach for an outstanding night of action as we crown the first ever MPM Heavyweight Champion." Smith: "Eight men want the title, one man can get it. It really is a shame, I bet the other seven would really want to be champion too, don’t you think Jim?" Freebrush: "Well… yes, that’s kind of the point of a championship!" Smith: "Right you are mate, why don’t we get on with the show with our first ever match, fittingly featuring the big man himself, Big Smack Scott! Don’t you just love the guy? I sure do, he’s paying me to watch wrestling and drink a few pints! Is that a cocktail you’ve got there Jim?" Freebrush: "It’s the Tiki Bar special, the Miami Pound Town, it’s fruity. Dont judge me. Let’s just get on with the show." MPM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER vs. “The Main Attraction” Big Smack Scott vs. “Miami’s Finest” Dustin Deuce Freebrush: “Before we get started with the action tonight we should explain a little bit about the rules here in Miami Pound Machine. Matches can be won by pinfall or submission, there are no disqualifications or count outs with one exception! A match can end in a disqualification in the event of an official witnessing outside interference.” Smith: “See, Big Scotty wants chaos, but at least he wants a fair fight!” The first ever match in Miami Pound Machine history features its founder, Big Smack Scott himself, against a man who calls Miami home, Dustin Deuce. Deuce might be a relative newcomer to the sport but he gives a good account of himself in the early going and has the Miami crowd firmly on side which only enrages Big Smack Scott. Scott overpoweres Deuce, throwing him to the outside but is quickly distracted by a bikini-wearing babe in the crowd. Scott’s attempts at chatting up the girl twenty years younger than him don’t seem to be going too well but Scott still sees some action when Deuce dropkicks him from behind and sends him straight into the woman’s, ahem, assets! Scott gets slapped, hard, and is planted head first by a leaping DDT! Dustin Deuce has an idea! He goes beneath the ring and pulls out… a surfboard?! Yes, that’s a surfboard alright. Deuce sets the surfboard up between two chairs and seems to have a plan, rolling Scott inside the ring and then lifting the big man to the top turnbuckle. Deuce follows him up, setting up a suplex to the outside, but Big Smack Scott’s experience, and talent for dirty tricks, sees him land a low blow and then throw Deuce from the top rope, onto, and straight through the surfboard which cracks in half under Deuce’s toppling momentum! Miami’s Finest is out of it and all it takes is for Scott to roll him back into the ring and get the pin to win the first match in MPM history. WINNER: BIG SMACK SCOTT MATCH RATING: 47 As officials quickly check on Deuce Deadline, who hasn’t moved since being folded up among the wreckage of a surfboard-turned-table, yes that did just happen, Big Smack Scott demands a microphone from ringside. Unsurprisingly The Main Attraction has something to say. Big Smack Scott: “What? You thought I was gonna lose to someone like that? C’mon, I might be a company man now but I’m not running a charity here! See I’ve brought in some of the best the independent wrestling scene had to offer all so I can beat them one by one and remind you all who the biggest, baddest star in wrestling is…” He trails off as an inflatable beach ball bounces into the ring, quickly followed by a T-Rex who clambers in to get to it. Wait, did I just say T-Rex? Yep. Or rather a man in a big T-Rex costume if you want to be specific. Big Smack Scott is none too impressed as the T-Rex awkwardly attempts to bend over and pick up the beach ball, a tough task when you have tiny little T-Rex hands and it’s made even tougher when Scott puts a boot to his ass and kicks him over. The T-Rex is struggling to get to his feet so Scott gives him a hand… by throwing him out of the ring much to the amusement, but also somehow disgust at the same time, of the bikini clad women and swimming short wearing men of the crowd. Big Smack Scott: “It’s me by the way, if that isn’t clear! And if a T-Rex can’t stop me, what makes you think any of you lot in the back can?” SEGMENT RATING: 54 MPM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER vs. “Full Phat” Molokai Milk vs. “Son of the Monster” James Diaz (w/ Ernie Turner) Freebrush: “Two very, very rough and tumble competitors here, this one’s going to be a slug fest.” Smith: “Sun, sea, lager and two guys beating the hell out of each other, this is what it’s all about.” Molokai Milk and James Diaz aren’t here for a technical classic or to get the length of broadway, they’re here to trade bombs and try and put the other man down in short order, knowing the winner will have to compete again later tonight. Diaz seems to be the stronger of the two in the early exchange but Milk knows how to take a beating and keep on ticking, finally taking Diaz down, and out of the ring, with a running shoulder barge. The two brawl around the ring, security having to protect the crowd, no guard rails here. Milk goes for a steel chair and tries to clatter Diaz with it but the Son of the Monster kicks it straight back into his face. Diaz drives Milk spine first into the turnbuckle and shows incredible strength to lift him up and powerbomb him onto the ring apron. Ernie Turner is calling for the finish! Diaz drags Milk back to the ring and goes for another Powerbomb but Milk sprays milk (full fat obviously) right into the monsters eyes! Where did he get that from? Milk unloads with clubbing blows, takes Diaz down with a chop block and goes for a running knee but Diaz takes his head off with a lariat! Asian Thumb Spike straight to the throat of Milk, he can’t breath! Double handed Choke Bomb by the Son of the Monster and James Diaz picks up the win! WINNER: JAMES DIAZ MATCH RATING: 24 vs. Young & Wasted vs. The Hot Taggs Freebrush: "The first ever tag team contest in Miami Pound Machine. God, I’m not sure I’m ever going to get used to saying that name." Smith: "I think it’s got character to it Jim. Though I’m pretty sure we’re going to get a cease and desist from a notable local pornographic actor at some point." Kalder & Wolfie Tagg are a pair of bruising brothers who don’t take any nonsense, and they certainly don’t like pretty boys like Young & Wasted. The bikini babes in the crowd absolutely love Bret Kyle & Taylor Norton and their good looks and charisma promises to make them stars here in Miami. Unfortunately for them the Hot Taggs are determined to mess up their pretty little faces with their bone crushing offence, launching their opponents around the ring and launching themselves right at them. It’s a high impact, fast paced style that’s extremely hard to defend against and Young & Wasted have to depend on their speed and smarts to survive before they can even think about winning. It works in parts, they work away at the knees of Wolfie, they send Kalder to the hardwood floor at ringside with a double suplex. But they get cocky, Norton is distracted by a particularly attractive girl at ringside and is crushed between the two Tagg’s mighty muscles before they drive him back first to the hardwood floor with a double powerbomb. Bret’s left all alone. He ducks and dodges, hits and runs, tries fighting off both men but it’s a dead man trying to claw his way out of his own grave as the dirt piles in. He’s pounced halfway across the ring coming off of a springboard and then driven to the mat with thunderous force courtesy of the Montana Slammer. The Hot Taggs style might not be pretty but it’s effective, and they pick up a solid victory much to the disappointment of the crowd. WINNER: THE HOT TAGGS MATCH RATING: 18 MPM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER vs. “The Punisher” Hammer Hadley vs. “Big” Papa Swoll (w/ DeAnna Desire) Freebrush: "Potentially the most electric man in the entire company, “Big” Papa hits the ring with the Southern Queen herself. DeAnna Desire has the ear of the gigantic charisma machine, and I’m sure she’s been telling him all day how he needs to win the title tonight." Smith: "That’s a big dude Jim. Bet you he can put away a few pints… hey, do you think he and DeAnna are a thing? I’m just asking for a friend…" Mac Smith is right, Papa Swoll is a big guy, standing 6’7 and built like a titan. Hammer Hadley is not used to having anyone tower over him but that’s the case here, and he doesn’t like it. He lashes out immediately, striking at Swoll, targeting the ribs with quick jabs to try and take away Swoll’s core strength. Hadley is too cocky and aggressive to be strategic and he doesn’t think about retreating between attacks, meaning Swoll gets hold of him and throws him across the ring. “Big” Papa overpowers Hadley, throwing him around the ring and driving him into the mat with massive suplexes and bombs. Hadley has to rely on his stamina, taking the blows and striking back wherever he gets the opportunity and Swoll soon begins to slow as he feels the effects of The Punisher’s blows. Rights and lefts land stiff and hard and Hadley sees the opening to take Papa Swoll down, dragging him to the mat with a double leg takedown. Hadley keeps firing away and the referee is poised to call the match when DeAnna Desire screams from ringside. Her rallying cry wakes something in Swoll and he connects with a thunderous elbow. Swoll is fired up. Lariat! Buckle Bomb! Swoll runs the ropes and… Pooouuunnnccceee! Hadley is flung across the ring, he’s out cold! Swoll makes the cover and there’s just no getting up from that, Hadley is out of it. Swoll advances! WINNER: PAPA SWOLL MATCH RATING: 19 MPM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER vs. “Psyche Out” Remmy Skye vs. “Zip The Lip” Zippy Deverell Zippy Deverell, mojito in hand, saunters to the ring. The air of arrogance is palpable as he ignores anyone “9 or below”, instead focusing in on the perfect 10’s. He’s not gender-specific either, happily eyeing up men and women alike. Zippy Deverell: Zip the Lip here, ready to rock your world. Now whether you’re a man or woman, hot or not, a total babe or a total uggo, I can promise you that you’ve never seen a man like me. A rip roaring, fast living, money making sensation. The man of the hour, the man with the power, the star attraction who is all action in and out of the ring. And when I’m done cleaning up this ring with Remmy “psychotropic” Skye and becoming the new MPM Heavyweight Champion maybe I’ll pick out one lucky lady or gent in the crowd to come and celebrate with me. After all, Zippy Deverell is a man of the people… the hot ones at least. SEGMENT RATING: 19 Freebrush: "Zippy Deverell is pretty full of himself, maybe he should wait until he’s picked up a few wins before he starts running his mouth." Smith: "When you look like him and talk like that you can usually get away with saying whatever you want. Just ask me ex-wife’s new boyfriend." Zippy Deverell can certainly talk the talk but with just under a years experience as a professional wrestler he’ll have to do a lot to prove he can walk the walk against the vastly more experienced Remmy Skye. At 35 years old Remmy Skye has to know that he’s not gone long left to make something of himself and stood opposite Zippy, who is still mouthing off even after the bell’s rung, there’s a serious fire in his belly as he launches himself at Zip The Lip. Skye’s offence is thought out and fast paced, making it hard for Zippy to get any offence in, fairly that is. He capitalises on a Skye high spot and sends him crashing to the hardwood floor, Remmy catches his knee and his subsequent limp means trouble. Zippy’s a smart kid and he zooms in on the knee, a chop block here, a low dropkick there, a kneebar. Basic but effective. Skye’s in trouble as Zippy ties his knee up on the turnbuckle, a running knee follows as Zip looks to crush the knee but Skye slips free and Zippy slams into the turnbuckle. Remmy pushes through the pain! Slingshot clothesline, skye high dropkick, slingblade! Remmy Skye goes up top and, though his knee wobbles, he flies off and connects with the Skye Diver! Remmy Skye advances to the main event but with his knee banged up his chances look slim. WINNER: REMMY SKYE MATCH RATING: 21 vs. vs. "The Superior Athlete" Black Diamond vs. "California" Coco Malloy vs. "The Mighty Atom" Izzy Quick Freebrush: "Tamara McFly, the head of the MPM Women’s Division, has promised that the women will be treated with respect here Miami Pound Machine, and we’re kicking that off with a big triple threat match." Smith: "But first, in the name of respect, a sexy dancing girl!" For whatever reason a young lady with ample assets struts around the ring, breaking out into a rather provocative dance routine. The men love it, the women roll their eyes. Black Diamond’s seen enough, she storms down to the ring and lays the dancer out with a swift elbow! Guess Jim was right, Miami really is home to some serious women’s wrestling. SEGMENT RATING: 20 Coco Malloy and Izzy Quick know all about each other as the San Diego Girls but tonight they’re not in this as a team, it’s a triple threat match and it’s every woman for herself. Unfortunately Black Diamond is not very well liked, she mouths off to start the match and receives a double dropkick for her trouble. Malloy and Quick team up, hitting Diamond with a series of arm drags and then sending her packing from the ring. Malloy and Quick square off, trying to one up each other but Black Diamond, none too happy about being dumped out of the ring, kicks Malloy clean in the face and throws Quick shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Diamond goes to work on both women, alternating attacks to wear them both down. She drags Malloy out of the ring and suplexes her onto the hardwood floor and then goes for a running boot to Quick, only for The Mighty Atom to grab the leg and drag her down. Quick works the leg, Diamond battles back until Quick catches Diamond with the Victory Roll. A two count is broken up by Malloy who exchanges elbows with her tag team partner. They exchange some near falls before Diamond pushes Quick into Malloy who tumbles out of the ring. Diamond tries putting Quick away quickly but it takes way longer than desired to hit the Belly to Belly Suplex. Wait, Coco Malloy is up top, she leaps off with the Flying Bulldog to Diamond to grab the victory out of nowhere! WINNER: COCO MALLOY MATCH RATING: 20 Coco Malloy stands tall following a fast paced clash, Izzy Quick facing up to her San Diego Girls partner. There’s a moment of tension before Quick lifts Malloy’s arm in victory and hugs her best friend. Sabrina Wells: "Well doesn’t that just make you sick?" “Stunning” Sabrina Wells stands in one of the aisles, microphone in hand. Sabrina Wells: "How can anyone around here talk about serious women’s wrestling and then not include the best women’s wrestler in the company in the very first match? That, to all you freaks and nobodies, is what we beautiful people call an outrage! Now how about you two bimbos get out of my ring and let me-" She doesn’t get to say anything else before Izzy Quick rolls out of the ring and hurries after her, sending Sabrina Wells scurrying up the aisle. Distracted, Sabrina Wells doesn’t see Black Diamond step into the ring behind her until it’s too late. Diamond kicks her straight in the back of the head and then drives her to the mat with a Belly to Belly. Izzy Quick storms the ring before any more damage can be done but Diamond’s happy with her handiwork. SEGMENT RATING: 16 MPM HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH vs. vs. vs. “The Main Attraction” Big Smack Scott vs. “Son of the Monster” James Diaz (w/ Ernie Turner) vs. “Big” Papa Swoll (w/ DeAnna Desire) vs. “Psyche Out” Remmy Skye Freebrush: It’s time for the first main event in MPM history, all four men have earned themselves this chance to be the first ever Miami Pound Machine Heavyweight Champion. Smith: My money is on Big Scotty, you don’t get to own the company without some perks, y’know? While the four pair off in the opening moments of the match, Scott with Skye and Diaz with Swoll, the match quickly descends into total chaos. There’s no alliances here, everybody wants the win and they’re not going to risk it by acting stupid. Remmy Skye clearly isn’t 100%, his knees still playing up and Scott capitalises on that early with a few choice chair shots to the injured limb, leaving Skye in agony on the outside. Scott hangs around watching as Swoll and Diaz tear chunks out of each other, two big burly men colliding with forearms, elbows and, in one particular moment, a blowup doll that a fan brought to the show. Scott sees a moment and joins the fray, blasting Diaz in the head with a chair. He tries to do the same to Swoll but Big Papa swats the chair right out of his hand and throws Scott down the aisle. Swoll overpowers Scott, the two fighting towards the northern bar. Scott grabs a beer bottle and swings for Swoll who fires back with a headbutt, sending Scott reeling. Swoll’s in control… when Diaz comes out of nowhere, tackling him straight into and through the bar! That’ll take some repair work. Swoll and Diaz are down and out and Scott’s delighted, but Remmy Skye comes leaping over the carnage and knocks Scott straight to the floor. Skye works over Scott on the outside, getting him back to the ring and trying to go up top only for his knee to give out on him. Scott with the powerslam! Legdrop! Big Smack Shuffle! But it’s only a two count! Scott works over the knee in anger, trying to cripple Skye. He brings him up for the Ego Trip but Skye slips out the back, rollup. It’s one! It’s two! Scott powers out, both men scramble but Skye catches Scott with a small package. One! Two! Three! Freebrush: "Remmy Skye wins! Remmy Skye is the first ever MPM Heavyweight Champion!" Remmy Skye quickly rolls out of the ring as Big Smack Scott freaks out. Despite his clearly injured knee Skye has captured the title and the Main Attraction is furious about it. Further afield DeAnne Desire and Ernie Turner check on their respective monsters who still lie among the shattered remains of the north bar. Remmy Skye backs up into the crowd, lifting his newly won title surrounded by fans. He’s had his moment of glory tonight, but by the look on the face of Big Smack Scott, he might just have made himself public enemy number one in the eyes of the man in charge.
