MLW need a Hero! [RW - 2020]

First reported in the Wrestling Observer in January 2020:

"Court Bauer has years of experience running a promotion, yet often wonders newer companies can easily leapfrog them in the landscape of the wrestling world in America. He has recently been looking for a second mind for the MLW creative process who can help the promotion reach new heights. They had a rather stellar 2019 but nothing that set the world on fire".

The Wrestling Observer posted in May 2020 an update on the situation:

"It appears Court Bauer has found his man, he has been looking for a great wrestling mind with experience in the business and who can aid in creative for the other wrestlers in the promotion. Court remained patient and finally it fell into his lap, Chris Hero (Formerly known as Kassius Ohno) was released in April and has apparently signed with MLW".

MLW Official Announcement

"I'd like to first thank Court for the opportunity to work with MLW and can proudly announce I am exclusively going to be working for MLW for the foreseeable future, to show my dedication to this company. I have spoke to Court about the vision I have with this company and he shown that he believed in my vision. Now, I've not been living under a rock for the past few years, even if it may have seemed so, I know what's been going on in MLW and theirs a lot I like but there is some I'm not a fan of. I've decided the best way of evaluating the current talent is to continue as normal for the first month of tapings, I will then evaluate the creative process, what I liked about those shows, what I dislike, what I can improve etc. Essentially we won't be drastically overhauling the roster to begin with. Now I would be lieing if I wasn't looking to bring in some exceptional talents, but every wrestling promotion is always scouting and that should be no shock."

OOC: This is my first Dynasty, I may end up trying multiple approaches but I have one in mind and we'll see how it goes. Any recommendations on signings? Thoughts on how MLW should proceed? Or just comments on the Dynasty in general

The product I will be using is episodic hardcore as I feel that's the most like MLW currently, or no-style but I like the Event/TV matches/angle percentages on episodic hardcore, but open to suggestions.

Interesting start. I enjoy catching MLW here and there and they present a unique product. I think you are right in the product piece of the conversation. They have a couple of my favorite characters going in Hammerstone and Holliday. I also like Filthy Tom, and if done correctly, Contra could be a beast unit. Fun roster and there are the tie-ins with NOAH, Crash, AAA and others that you can and should leverage. Think about the Super Series they just ran.

As for the tips/what I like to see. I think the most important thing is to enjoy doing it for yourself. I personally like to keep some level of reality. I like using guys who have been with the company in the past or have a logical reason for being there. With the WWE's big COVID release there are a number of great names out there, but I ask myself "Would Rusev appear for MLW?" probably not but would Chris Hero, ABSOLUTELY.

Presentation wise, find what you like. I personally lean towards quicker, but custom, write-ups.

Keep it up, and don't hesitate to ask for feedback. (Related thoughts: don't be discouraged if people don't connect with it right away)

I think one piece of advice for diary writing is to have an end point in mind and work towards that, and if you reach that end point and want to continue, find a new end point. I find knowing what I'm working towards and the story I want to tell helps motivate me to keep going.

I am looking forward to this! I am a big fan of MLW and think they're criminally underrated. MJF, Riddle, Lucha Bros, Janela, Cobb all went through there, with future stars such as Hammerstone and Jacob Fatu there now.

For the dynasty itself, I'd say do whatever makes you happy. If its clear that you are enjoying what you're doing, then people will read. For presentation, as long as the important information is clear and easy to understand, then that's all that mattes. I am also a big fan of using Imgur for pictures so those who don't know the characters can get that mental image, which will only immerse people in the story even more!

Basically, do what makes you happy. A lot of dynasties start off without much traction, but if you keep at it and post semi-regularly or more, traffic will come!

There sick of being at the bottom, being forgotten about, how even after Myron beat Teddy Hart no one cared, the title he wears no one speaks about. They just want justice in MLW and will continue to protest against the injustice and take action into their own hands.

Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Kotto Brazil in 7:34 with a Saito Suplex.

Davey grabs a mic and starts talking about how all these young up and comers always bring his families legacy up, trying to create a buzz for themselves but most the time these punks can't fight to save their lives. He wants injustice to prove him wrong and come out here and fight him like men, but based on what he knows they'll already be running out of building with their tails between their legs.

He waits for a minute but no one comes out to the crowd booing.

Salina de La Renta is Irate backstage pacing back and fourth screaming in Spanish at Los Parks (In a venting way), she then see's the camera and looks directly into it. She says team filthy have no respect for Los Parks and what they mean to wrestling.

They call them dead wood when L.A Park is an icon of this industry who has more talent in one hand then all 4 of them have in their bodies.

They have the numbers advantage but they have the experience, they have the brain power, they may all be trained in MMA but they've never fought in Mexico.

She finished by challenging any 2 of them to a tag team match at Fury Road and they will prove they aren't "dead wood".

Samael is celebrating in the ring when Low-Ki's music hits and he looks like he has seen a ghost, he turns to entrance way waiting for him but Low-Ki jumps thorugh the crowd and attacks Samael from behind hitting him with hard strike after strike before Samael eventually escapes.

A video package of the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous is aired with all 3 dynasty members lounging around by the pool. They do there generic comedy comments on not understanding how the real world works before they start talking about Mane Warners challenge, they all keep trying to pass the challenge on to each other before they say why even bother with him. Hammerstone then tries to hype up the other two about their upcoming tag title match in the main event of this weeks Fusion.

The Von Erichs beat The Dynasty in 15:08 by rolling up Gino Medina after a chaotic brawl towards the end of the match that saw Hammerstone get involved by pushing Marshall off the top rope, this was countered by Mance Warner coming to the Von Erichs aid and beating down hammerstone and hitting Richard Holiday and Gino with a chair whilst the ref was on the floor. This lead to the Von Erichs retaining their World Tag Team titles, the Dynasty clearly banged up in the ring but livid that Mance Warner would cost them gold.

Mance Warner is cutting a promo on his actions from last week backstage before the Dynasty blind side him. They continue to beat him down until MLW security pull them away. The rich boys are pissed from not winning the tag belts last week.

Alicia Atout is interviewing Team Filthy backstage when Filthy Tom grabs the mic from her; He proceeds to say that his camp accepts the tag team challenge for Fury Road and although he doesn't agree with everything Salina said he agreed they have experience and brains but quickly followed by he's not just a "pretty face" and that his camp have brains too. They won't be telling Los Parks which members will be in the match.

Davey Boy is in the ring catching his breath when Jordan Oliver comes out the entrace way running his mouth, talking about how it's another week, another INJUSTICE that we're not on the show but here you are Davey booked yet again. "WHY OH WHY I WONDER" Oliver yells, as he is speaking Reed and Brazil blindside Davey in the ring. They start attacking him, with Oliver joining, before BPJ returns to make the save! The Hart Foundation then fight off the 3 of them.

Low-ki is backstage in a dark room, clearly still hurt, talking about Contra and their power; How they have the numbers advantage here in MLW, they hold the gold, their getting stronger week by week. However, he knows there human, they can be beaten, he has the willpower, strengh of mind to break through their Army. Fatu is a menace on this company, their stranglehold must come to an end sooner rather than later or it may be too late. He ends by challenging Fatu to a match at Fury Road, whether Fatu is still the champion after tonight or not.

Chris Hero Pre-Fury Road Conference

"This will only be a short statement as we've been very busy here in MLW working towards the show. I've been very happy with the shows, people are expressing themselves more and we are taking on an evolved type of hardcore style, essentially bringing the modern day to the old hardcore style, we need to allow all types of wrestlers to prosper. In terms of future plans, we are looking to start a womens division within the next set of tapings, potentially even a pre-show bout at the pay per view. The Mystery team have unfortunately been doubled booked, although we have brought in a team who have wrestled here before, albeit not common members of the roster. As mentioned in an earlier statement, we've ran typical MLW shows so far, we are looking to input some of my creative ideas into the show over the coming months. To conclude we are happy but not content with the start, see you at Fury Road!"

OOC - The original tag team had a member booked elsewhere I didn't notice til after the original card post. I think we're going to switch to live TV shows instead of bulk tapings as we're making tons of money in this mod. I have quite a large shortlist of people I like but want to maintain quite a bit of the original roster. We are going to start a womens division soon, I've signed a full womens roster so far of about 10-12 women. I'm enjoying doing this so far, The next month in game will probably continue similar existing rivalries in MLW then i'll start to form my own mold on the roster and their characters. I was only happy with about 2/4 tv tapings but I think as time goes on and the more pop the workers get it'll be fine. Any recommendations, ideas, or feedback on anything so far is appreciated
