I myself have been a fan since I was 11 year old and all I ever wanted to do was to wrestle. I started training when I was 14 years old. 5 years later here I am ready to start my journey but this would be different to what I had planned! I had been struggling to get on events and it was starting to get me down. I consider myself a pretty decent rookie! so January came around and sadly my father left this world. In his will he left me $100,000 from his savings, with this he wanted me to put it towards my future and after much thought, possibly two days I decided I wanted to start my own promotion. One for rookies like me and who are unemployed. I first came up with a name and style. I came up with the name as I wanted a wrestling promotion that was more about wrestling over entertainment, a Pseudo Sport style that has match lengths over 15 minutes. no brands just wrestling. So that's where No Brand Wrestling was created. As I am proud to be from Maine, I wanted to run the promotion from here. I needed a venue to get me started. After looking at hiring some I came across an old sports hall that could hold 200 people and decided to snap it up for a mere $4,800. So next was my favourite bit, finding wrestlers. I started looking for wrestlers from Maine and around the area nearby. Most that I booked are rookies with some having under 5 years experience. As I said before everyone I booked wrestlers that are unemployed as like me it will kick them the chance to get in front of some fans. The first event I have decided to book is called NBW Rock And Ruin and will take place this Saturday. I have put the show time for 1 hour and 30 minutes, I am genuinely very excited for it. I don't expect a lot of people to come so the first show is free! This will be my blog on how booking a new promotion goes. Feel free to follow the journey of No Brand Wrestling. Have I set myself up to fail? Will they like it? These were just a few things that kept going around my head all day. This was also the first time everyone met each other and I from what I know we had no problems. I sat down with the road agents that I hired for my events Fate and Tamara McFly and we came up with what would go down later on. They they went and spent time with each wrestler to pass on the information. At 6pm the doors opened, we had 71 people came to the show. The show was free so I thought we may have got a few more but it's a start. in speaking with some of the fans they had a thing for Sabrina Wells so it looks like she could be a feature attraction for us at the start. The Sports hall that we have looked alright for its first event. We used those brown wooden school benches for the fans that were left in the hall.
