WWWF World Wide Wrestling Federation (Return of the Golden Age)

Recommended Posts

The WWWF: World Wide Wrestling Federation

Sets up shop in Upstate NY. Its aim is to produce a wrestling product that is a return of the golden age. What is old is whats new, is the mentality. The WWWF will begin its promotion with an owner who just wants to see the kind of wrestling he woke up to on Saturday Morning's as a kid

PRODUCT: Less flying, more fighting. Wrestlers that wrestle, stretch their opponents or finish them with high impact moves. Wrestlers that you look at, and say, "That guy looks like he can kick some butt" Kayfabe is back, and the lines are drawn. Are you a heel or are you a face? Managers, Post match ringside interviews, The Squash match, Announcers talking less and letting the action speak for itself. Ring announcers announce the athletic commission, the time keeper and the referees to start the show. Voice overs promote the 1 monthly show at the Garden. Big guys, tough guys, wrestlers wearing less fancy ring gear. No pyro. No jumbo-trons, No amazing graphics. Just wrestling the way it was when I was a kid, set in the present day

OOC-I havent done a diary in YEARS!!! My world has completely changed since I last entered something here.I don't have the ability or time to spend like I did many years ago. My plan is to just enjoy playing the game, post the results here without long elaborate write-ups, graphics, etc. etc.. In fact this diary will probably be as boring as wrestling from 1982 was. Hopefully I have found a new little hobby to pass some time

Glad to see you back, I can't remember the last time I saw you on here. Your old WWWF diary was hands down one of the best on the board.

Thanks old friend, it been over 10 years since I wrote that old 1983 based WWWF diary (DOTT) diary. A lot has changed since then, so don’t have anywhere close to the time I had back then. But, I still love wrestling, enjoying playing the game and try something very simple here

Really confused is this an old school diary with modern wrestlers?

This is a modern day diary being booked with an early 80’s approach. Many (but not all) of the wrestlers have their names changed to sound (80’s-ish) when I signed them to contracts. Some of them I just use an old school wrestlers name, that I like, or thought fit the wrestler.

For now, I’m keeping it very simple, we’ll see how it evolves.. Not doing any pictures either (1. Because I’ve forgotten how :) but 2. Because I’m leaving it up to the reader on who they think (renamed characters) are. Some will be way and some will be so obscure.

And thank you all for the kind words regarding my comeback. I m enjoying this so far and think I can maintain this easy pace
