Hello everyone,

 

I figured I should probably make my own thread for my updates to the Modern Warriors 3 mod. I noticed some people were having trouble finding my updates in the other thread so I figured I'd make a new one where the links will be easier to find.

 

For those of you who don't know, Modern Warriors is the real world mod for World of Mixed Martial Arts. The mod was originally created by Tag01, Tc66tc, ThePhenom666, and Weidt back in 2008. I was lucky enough to join the work on this mod when WMMA 5 was being released and I have been doing monthly and semi-monthly updates ever since.

 

I'd like to thank Tag01, Tc66tc, ThePhenom666, Weidt, Macgowan, mariochives, and anyone else who has ever contributed to this mod. You are all amazing and none of this would be possible without you.

The first post has been updated with the links to the July update and the updates to the picture pack.

 

This month's update includes updated events, rosters, and records. The UFC roster is now more complete with many of the missing prelim-type fighters being added. Invicta is no longer a child-company and their roster has some additions as well. I have also added a bunch of prospects from all around the world.

 

I would like to give a shout-out to BigShowCollins who helped me out with this months update.

 

As always if you have any suggestions or see anything that needs to be fixed, please let me know.

This is an awesome pack. Thank you very much. Is there a way to speed up the loading by day, etc? By removing promotions, or workers, etc? I was advancing to the next show and have a decent computer and it seems like it took forever. Any ideas?

I always start my games with like 10 promotions. I am in year 4 and had to bring it down to 5 total. A week takes about 6 mins now. Not too bad.

Thank you so much for the time and effort put into this. I spent about 4 hours this week setting up the cards for the next few months. First main event Usman vs. Masvidal and got the exact same result in real life :-)

IIRC removing defunct promotions, retired fighters, or old fight results won't speed up the game. the calculation is for all the new fights, injuries, promotion contracts, etc. So if you want the game to run faster you'd have to remove ACTIVE promotions, and fighters. The generating of new prospects might slow it down also. I think the real world mods have sooo many more active fighters than the vanilla game.

Glad to see it's coming to good use. I might crack open the mod and have a look. UFC4 seems a bit crap, so I might end up playing WMMA5 again.

I wasn't sure if removing the defunct promotions would do anything or not. Most of them still needed to be taken out because they didn't have any events or anything like that so they were just taking up space lol. And your right the real world mod has like 3000 more characters than the default game.

 

 

 

I will ask this question to everyone: What do you think I should do? Are there promotions or fighters or anything that you feel I should take out? Taking stuff out may cause the game to load faster but it will also be less immersive so it's good to keep that in mind.

Very true, but it's 2020. Is there really an issue downloading a 700mb zip file vs a 500mb zip file?

 

Even if they take up space it's miniscule. I can't imagine the Pride stats taking up more than a few MB. Aside from the photographs which is the largest folder in the game by faaar... but this doesn't slow anything down in-game.

 

The issue is a giant UFC, ONE championship, Bellator, Rizin, (is KSW in the database?), hundreds of prospects. But you want those companies to farm regionally. So you'd want an african promotion, eastern european promotion, SEA promotion, to help usher forth those prospects.

 

It would suck if DJ, Eddie Alvarez, Rory MacDonald, all disappeared so we can keep Felice Spencer and a faster week.

Loving the mod and all the work you’ve done for it, is there anyway I could help with fight history, specifically the UFC? There’s quite a bit of inaccuracies in the older history and records that if cleaned up can help with immersion. Appreciate the work you do bro!

Perhaps a LITE version of the mod.

 

Similar to size of the default database which will give better load times. Tonight I tried this mod and it took over an hour to get 4 weeks in. Slow loading around screens too. Default database took 10 mins and a show run as well.

 

Huge props on the work of this amazing MOD by the way. Its immense. Unfortunately, just not playable in its size for me.

what is also problem is reputation of newer guys.. i dont like that fighters like blachowicz, santos, prochazka, reyes, blaydes, hermansson, burns, yan etc has low reputation (max high regional)..</p><p> </p><p>

What i recommend to do about database is to mass delete minor organizations.. keep max 15 organizations.. then mass delete guys whom have max low regional reputation, and also whom are without organization.. and for example in my db after this, i still have guys, but from 3600, i have 2400 fighters</p>
