I came so close to choosing Captain Mike but I could not remember if it was Rotunda or Rotundo and I was too lazy to look it up so I went with Kevin Sullivan. Seriously though I remember people would always wonder what the correct spelling of his last name was back then. Because I believe he used both spellings during his career. Or I could totally be talking out of my ass.

But Terry Funk & Tommy Dreamer come back, thanks to the latter's experience and the former's hard brawling and huge heart. This sets up a great encounter and a clash of opposite styles. Funk & Dreamer have neither the speed nor the power advantage. So they use quick tag team work, resilience and - for Terry Funk - malice to stay in the match. At the 14 minutes mark, however, Tommy Dreamer is in a hard place as Scorpio mauls him with kicks and forearms in his corner. He tags in Simmons and holds Dreamer to allow the big man to perform a running shoulder tackle which sends Dreamer down. The youngsters tries to roll out of the ring, but Simmons gets him back, tags Scorpio, and holds Dreamer down as 2 Cold performs a picture perfect 450° splash for a near fall. Dreamer's taking everything he can. Simmons sets him up for his Spinning Spinebuster, if he hits it we can't see how Dreamer will kick out. He's sent into the ropes, Simmons lifts him and... Tornado DDT! The crowd pops at this huge counter. Dreamer is craawling towards his corner as Simmons has to use the rope to get up. Dreamer sees Terry Funk's hand, he reaches... And tags! Terry Funk is a house of fire. He rushes at Simmons and keeps him down with a shoulder tackle behind the knee. He steps up, goes to Scorpio behind the ropes with a quickness unfathomable at his age. He rushes at Scorpio but... 2 Cold sees him coming, he swiftly takes Funk's head, and jumps out of the apron, driving Funk's throat onto the 3rd rope! Funk goes down, hold his throat. It's all it takes for Ron Simmons who runs to the ropes and give him a huge running splash! Dreamer is laying down on the apron, he has no time to do anything. One, two... Three! Terry Funk and Cactus Jack are BOTH being looked after by our medical team. Cactus Jack, having been suffocated for a few seconds, will not be able to make it to his scheduled match. I've been told that Mikey Whipwreck will go ALONE against Chris Benoit and Matt Borne, in what is now a 2 on 1 handicap submission match... Poor. He goes at Shane Douglas with punches, kicks and even and headbutt that splits open Douglas' forehead a little bit. There's no thought behind his wrestling, he's just a born fighter. This gives us a great match, in which Sandman overwhelms Shane Douglas with his brawling, only for Douglas to take the edge back with a wrestling move like an arm drag, or a dirty tactic like pulling Sandman's short hair or twisting his ear. During the match, Ricky Steamboat steps in each time Douglas plays with the rules. When Douglas kicks a seated Sandman in the corner, Steamboat gets in the ring as the ref count is only on 3. Steamboat and Douglas argue a lot during the match, each time Steamboat stopping Douglas rom twisting the rules, and Douglas telling him he's not the referee. After a grueling 24 minutes match, where Douglas kicked out of an Heinekenrana and a Russian Leg Sweep, the Franchise and Sandman are brawling on the outside. During the scuffle, Sandman throws Douglas onto the steel barricade. He takes a few step and runs towards him... But Woman gets in the middle! Sandman stops at the last time, avoiding hitting Woman. But Douglas jumps at the occasion, he pushes Woman to the side and throws Sandman in the barricade! He looks to do the same thing as Sandman, takes a few step back, runs towards him... But this time, it's Lori who gets in the middle... But Shane Douglas doesn''t stop! He crashes into Lori, into Sandman, into the steel barricade! Sandman ans his wife are down, and Ricky Steamboat gets in Shane Douglas' face: "why didn't you stop?! She's a woman!". A medics comes out to look after Lori, as Douglas retreats to the ring and orders the ref to count Sandman out. But an irates Sandman, after looking out for his wife, rushes to the ring. He delivers a flurry of punches to Shane Douglas' face and body (on the outside, Bill Alfonso screams that his fists are closed and calls for a DQ). Douglas goes down, and Sandman goes to the 3rd rope. On the outside, Woman is insulting him, allowing a quick distraction. That's all Shane Douglas needs: he gets up, jumps to the second rope, and delivers a thunderous BELLY TO BELLY SUPLEX FROM THE TOP TURNBUCKLE! Although this period in time was just before I was born, I watch a lot (like, a LOT) of stuff from the 1991 to 1996/7, and everything ECW I could get my hands on.

Thanks for making me feel old.

When I talking about wrestling just before I was born Billy Graham was still the WWWF Champion.

I really liked the show. My favorite segment by far was the Tommy/Terry/Jack/Sullivan segment. I loved how you managed to take what could have been two seperate segments and put them together into one.

I was wondering how/when you were going to change Tazmaniac to Taz and this looks like it could go pretty smooth. I'm hoping for a Taz vs Malenko rematch somewhere down the line. Dream matchup indeed!

Tommy? Tommy?! Noooooooooo! My brain can't handle Dreamer as anything other than a babyface. Interested to see where you take this.

And yes! I popped huge for Alfonso DQing for a closed fist. That's absolute Fonzie. Gotta be one of the most hated men in all of ECW and totally amazing at it. Great job.

JANUARY 1995: WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING?

1994 was a huge year for ECW, with the firing of Paul Heyman, the solidification as NWA #1 promotion, and lot of things happenning during the show.

The last ECW Hardcore TV of 1994 was devoted to video replays of the major events starting from when Shane Douglas threw down the ECW Championship and won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

As 1995 starts, the announcement as been made official: ECW has reached a trade agreement with WCW. It is understood that WCW's major problem with ECW was Paul Heyman, who hated his former employers. The relationship is now a lot more sane and both parties are happy with it. WCW wants to prevent ECW from becoming a "WWF territory" and hope to use some ECW talents. They already signed ECW star Sabu, who's not seen a lot on ECW TV because of his contracts with both WCW and AJPW.

This agreement allowed Ricky Steamboat to appear on ECW despite his exclusive contract with WCW. For Kevin Sullivan it's another thing as he only has a handshake agreement with WCW, and this signed another hadnshake deal with ECW.

Big things are expected for ECW and the NWA in 1995, and rumor has it that a WCW Main Eventer may soon appear on Hardcore TV...

Other news:

- Jason's Knight new client "Jason The Terrible" is actually Glen Jacobs who's used to being a monster under a mask, having wrestled as Unabomb in SMW.

- Axl Rotten, Hack Myers and several other barely used lower carders have been fired from ECW, as they no longer fit the vision of the brand.

- BCW crowned a NWA Can-Am Champion, with Scott d'Amore winning the belt.

Show opens with a video recap of Enter Sandman with the debut of Kevin Sullivan and his brutal attack of Cactus Jack with a plastic bag, Tommy Dreamer turning on Terry Funk, the debut of Jason's monster known as Jason the Terrible, Dean Malenko's defence against Tazmaniac, and finally the superb main event where Shane Douglas defended the NWA World Heavyweight Champion against the Sandman but not without controversy.
Speaking of that, The Sandman open the show with his wife, Lori. The beer drinking, cigarette smoking brawler is pissed. He says Shane Douglas almost hurt his wife. And nobody put his hand on his wife... Expect him (yikes.) He says he played it fair, he didn't hit Woman when he could have. But she screwed him. Bill Alfonso screwed him. Shane Douglas screwed him. Sandman promises he'll get revenge on all of them and will crack their skull. Sandman gets interrupted by...

Jason? Followed by his monster, the self-proclaimed "sexiest man alive" says Sandman doesn't know his luck. Jason tells him if he had a "smoking hot" wife like him, he never would have let her walk away with another man, like she did last year with Tommy Cairo. And what is more, she never would have been harmed in a match, because his monster Jason the Terrible would have protected her. Jason speaks directly to Lori, he wants her to leave this "dirt bag" and... Mary him? Jason wants her to become Lori Knight! Sandman is - of course - furious. He calls Jason to the ring, but Jason has other plans, and calls the Pitbulls from the back. They rush to the ring, but Sandman fights them off. He throws #1 out, and Jason tells the ref to ring the bell: we have a match!
The Sandman (/w. Lori defeats Pitbull #2 (/w. Pitbull #1) with a seated senton bomb [ndlr: Coffin Drop] in a short brawl.

During the match, Jason came to ringside and tried to hit on Lori, but ate a baseball slide from the Sandman. He rushed to the back followed by his monster, because he feared his face was "disfigured" and wanted to see doctors.
We see a video of Stevie Richards crying holding a framed picture of Rick Steiner, his "idol" who didn't show up to fight him, and seems unaware of his existence. Stevie is holding his wrestling gear watching TV. He changes channel and sees a short ad for... Monday Night RAW? Stevie watches Shawn Michaels distribute Sweet Chin Music and seems in awe, forgetting everything about his tears.
Too Cold Scorpio is at the local townhall. He brought the cameras here because he wants to legally change his name to "2 Gold Scorpio". Scorpio asks his friend Simmons if he also wants to change for something like "Hoss Simmons", but Ron grunts. 2 Cold tells him they got to think about a tag team name, because they are about to last. He turns to the camera and says they will take on any challenger for the NWA World Tag Team Championship.
Cactus Jack (/w. Mikey Whipwreck) absolutely squashes Hack Myers, finishing him with a Jumping Double Arm DDT.

Post match, Joey Styles comes to the ring to interview Cactus. He wants to pick his mind on Kevin Sullivan returning to ECW and brutally attacking him. Cactus says his rivalry with Sullivan dates back to last year. He resents Sullivan for turning on him, and he says there's no explanation. Sullivan is just the devil, and we can't explain his actions. Jack says Tod Gordon had Sullivan barred from ECW, but he wants him. Sullivan beat him in a Loser Leaves in WCW, so he can't go back there... But he can DESTROY him here in ECW. He calls for Tod Gordon to allow Sullivan to compete in ECW. Mikey Whipwreck who's with him tells him he'll help him. Cactus cuts him off: he doesn't want Whipwreck ANYWHERE near Sullivan. He's his friend, and Sullivan would kill him if he could. There's no way he's letting him help.

Styles questions him again, speaking of friend... What about Tommy Dreamer?

"Tommy Dreamer was never my friend. When I was beaten down by Entourage, he never came to rescue me. At November to Remember, he walked out on me. I never trusted him, and I told Terry Funk this would happen. The old man is guilible, because he has such a huge heart. I've got no sympathy for Tommy Dreamer, only a dreaded fury. For all his talk, Dreamer never considered Funk as his father figure. He just leached him and his fame. If I cross path with him again, I'll do what I was about to do when Sullivan attacked me: i'll break him in half."

Joey Styles asks him about Terry Funk. Cactus says Funk is sad, almost heartbroken. He wanted to form a new generation. He feels betrayed, but he knows the Living Legend will get better. He says Funk will fight next week.
In a technical sounded match, Dean Malenko defeats Pizza Delivery Dudley (/w. Dances with & Chubby Dudley) with a Cloverleaf.

Post match, Matt Borne appears from under the ring! Wearing his half-faced clown make-up, Borne crawls in the ring, behind Dean Malenko Borne suddenly floors the ECW Television Champion with a lariat behind the back and... Steals the ECW TV Belt? Screaming in joy like a madman and jumping in the air like a litteral clown, Matt Borne runs away with the ECW TV Title belt!
From an undisclosed location, we get a pre recorded promo from The Tazmaniac. He says he wrestled the best match of his life against Dean Malenko. Malenko was the better man, but he aspires to one day be as good as him. And he listened to what Malenko said while he laid unconscious. And he thinks the Iceman is right. The Tazmaniac will never be able to beat Dean Malenko. He needs to evolve, he needs to get better. He needs to cut off what's superfluous. Not, Tazmaniac can never beat Dean Malenko... But TAZ will be the man to defeat him, one day.
The Entourage duo of Shane Douglas & Chris Benoit (/w. Woman & Mr. Hughes) beat the team of Dances with Dudley & Chubby Dudley (/w. Pizza Delivery Dudley) when Chris Benoit submitted Chubby with a vicious Crippler Crossface.

Post match, Chris Benoit takes the mic. He challenged Shane Douglas multiple time, and he sure is about to do it again. "Hey Shane! You promised me one thing when I joined the Entourage, and... Benoit is cut by a grunge musci, and out comes Mikey Whipwreck!

The Underdog is on the ramp, and he says he got beat badly at Enter the Sandman, but it wasn't fair! Whipwreck says he needs to fight his own fight, and he couldn't beat Benoit & Borne at the same time... So he challenges Chris Benoit, for next week!

Benoit is upset, visibly he doesn't consider Whipwreck a worthy opponent, but... The Franchise answers on his behalf. He screams at Whipwreck and says he's a little insect, and that next week, Chris Benoit will crush him!... Benoit is upset, Douglas acts as if he doesn't understands why, and the show ends.

Show opens at the gate of the arena. Someone is walking in... It's Terry Funk! The Funker's back after taking last week off, following Tommy Dreamer turning on him. Tonight, Terry Funk takes on the man who's now called Taz.
A graphic announces that a new NWA Championship will be reborn! Joey Styles hypes up the fact that the NWA is looking for a new NWA North American Champion! The title will be back, and will be put on the line at ECW's next big event: When Worlds Collide in a Four Way Match! The participants will be picked according to the win/loss record, at the discretion of the NWA Championship Committee.
Jason Knight is in the ring with his three clients. He tells the Pitbulls they are useless and he fired them for not taking Sandman down last week. But first, his monster will destroy them!
Jason Knight & Jason The Terrible defeat The Pibulls in a one-sided match when The Terrible did a double chokeslam and the Pitbulls and tagged Jason Knight so he could pin them both. Knight did NONE of the work during the match.

Post match, the self proclaimed "sexiest man alive" says he's lucky his beautiful face wasn't injured by the Sandman last week when he hit him like a coward with a baseball slide from the ring. He wasn't even in his match! Jason tells us he KNOWS Sandman fears him. Because they both can see Lori has lust for Jason in her eyes! And who can blame her? Jason Knight says only the marriage between them stop him from shagging (yikes) her. He says he will cancel their wedding and make Lori his.
In a backstage interview, Joey Styles welcomes Stevie Richards who ditched the wrestling singlet, head gear and mouth guard. Instead, Richards seems to have curled his hair. He sports a flashy red leather jacket with fringes, heart-shaped rose sunglasses and chew on a gum... Styles asks him what's on his mind after the recent event, did he have an answer from his idol Rick Steiner ?

"Man who's that Rick Steiner you're talking about? Rick Steiner is a BUM. My idol? Pf. He's a jacked up body guy who know nothing but suplexes. MY wrestling idol is SHAWN MICHAELS and always has been. What are you even talking about? I'm like him, tall, handsome, beautiful hair, the ladies love me. I'm kind of the Heart Break Guy, you know? I'm here to steal the show in ECW and the NWA. I'm going to make Shawn proud... Now where's my hair stylist?!"
2 Gold Scorpio & Ron Simmons defeat Hack Myers & Tony Stetson, finishing him with a Jumping Double Arm DDT. in a one sided short match.

Post match, the NWA World Tag Team Champions Scorpio & Simmons say they challenge a team ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD to face them for their title. The next Event is When World Collide, so they're issuing an open contract to any team to challenge them.
In a technical sounded match, Taz defeats Terry Funk after 15 minutes of battle with a Half Nelson Suplex.

Post match, Terry Funk shakes Taz's hand. During the match, it was obvious Funk's head was not in this after his protege Tommy Dreamer turned on him.

Speaking of Dreamer, Funk takes the microphone to call him out. Funk says he knows he did things that weren't right, maybe he has his faults, but he doesn't want this to end like this. He says Tommy and him can fix this, he KNOWS it. He forgives him. This brings out Tommy Dreamer, wearing a black leather jacket.

Dreamer is furious. Forgiving him? He asks Funk if he's senile, scream at him... And kick him in the balls! Again! Once again, like at Enter the Sandman, Cacts Jack comes out to help his mentor. But like at Enter the Sandman...

Kevin Sullivan comes from out of nowhere and attacks Cactus Jack! They throw punches in the ring, but this time... Dreamer helps Sullivan, and nails Cactus with a low blow from behind! Dreamer and Sullivan have a quick but tense look at each other... And they proceed to beat down Cactus Jack and Terry Funk! Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk are beating down Cactus and the Funker! Security rushes to the ring and take them back, but the damage is already done...
Joey Styles is still shocked and informs us that Funk & Cactus Jack are taken care of by the medical staff - again. He also tells us that he just got the news from the NWA Championship Committee: following his impressive win over a former NWA World Champion, Taz will be part of the Four Way Match to determine the NEW NWA North America Champion at When Worlds Collide.
In our main event of the evening, Mikey Whipwreck scores a HUGES upset over Chris Benoit (/w. Shane Douglas, Woman & Mr. Hughes) by DQ in a match where he had nothing but hope spots.
The final of the match was chaotic: as Benoit was in control, out of the back came his stablemate Matt Borne running like a madman, still holding the ECW TV Title belt he stole from Dean Malenko. Malenko was the man pursuing him. They rans next to the ring and into the crowd, which distracted Chris Benoit enough for a Mikey Whipwreck for a surprise roll up!

Post match, Chris Benoit is PISSED OFF. He starts beating down Mikey Whipwreck, oined by the Franchise Shane Douglas .Is it possible that Entourage always have the last word? Well.. Not this time !

Ricky Steamboat runs from the back! Last time we saw him he was the special ring enforcer for Shane Douglas' title defense, and he made sure the Franchise had to follow the rules. Steamboat is a house of fire. He puts Benoit down with a double chop. He turns to Douglas, but the champion hides behind his bodyguard Mr. Hughes. Hughes tries to grab the Dragon, but Steamboat goes under, runs to the rope... Running crossbody! Down goes the behemoth! Douglas escapes the ring as Mikey Whipwreck is helped to his feet by the former NWA World Champion.
Somewhere outside of the arena, Tommy Dreamer is walking to his car. Someone is waiting for him by his car... Kevin Sullivan.

"I get the sense that we can establish a mutual benefit relationship here... What do you think, son?"

"I'm not your son. Terry Funk tried to paternalize me, you saw what happened too me?"

"You're right. But I don't want to be a mentor to you. I want to show you the way. I won't tell you what to do like Funk did, but I will tell you what you CAN do. I will show you paths others don't even think about. I will offer you choices. I will make you see the road they don't talk about in wrestling school or at the Funkin Conservatory. I will not be your mentor, but I can be your friend..."

"Hop in then. We can discuss while driving... And don't call me "kid or "son". I'm Tommy."

Show opens with The Entourage in the ring. Shane Douglas is furious: why is it Ricky Steamboat always puts his nose in his business? Is he not busy enough chasing after Steve Austin's US Championship in WCW? Douglas says 1 time was Steamboat being naive. A 2nd time was him being STUPID. If he messes with the Franchise business a THIRD time... It can only be Steamboat being SUICIDARY.

Chris Benoit takes the microphone. He tells Shane Douglas that talking of 3 times... It has been 3 times he asked for the title shot he was promised, and he's ALWAYS interrupted. Douglas cuts him off: yeah, of course. He will have his title shot. Douglas has a good news for him, he has it at the next show!... As a member of the 4 way to crown the new NWA North America Championship! Of course, Benoit is not happy, because it's a shot at the World title he wants. But Douglas asks as if nothing, being all happy for Benoit and askind him why he doesn't smile. The Franchise takes the microphone back and tells us soon Entourage will be draped in gold, as Matt Borne is still wearing the ECW World TV Championship and laughing like a maniac.

This long show intro is not over, as Mikey Whipwreck comes out! Whipwreck is furious at being beaten down, and he challenges Shane Douglas to a one-on-one, RIGHT NOW! Douglas refuses, arguing that he's too superior, but when Whipwreck tells him he's a coward, he gets real mad and accepts! We get this match right now!
Mikey Whipwreck defeats Shane Douglas (/w. The Entourage) with a surprise roll-up.

Post match, an irrate, out of control Shane Douglas gets in the referee's face. He grabs him by his collar en throws him down, arguing he made a fast count. Bill Alfonso gets on the mic from ringside and announces as a special refereeing advisor for the NWA, he REVERSES THE DECISION! On commentary, Joey Styles notes that he doesn't know if that decision will be official or if Alfonso is just over estimating his powers.

Of course, this lead to yet another Entourage beatdown on the poor Mikey Whipwreck but here comes the cavalry!

Ricky Steamboat comes to the rescue, and Dean Malenko comes out to fight Matt Borne who stole his championship belt! Douglas leaves the ring immediately, and Steamboat brawls with Mr. Hughes. Malenko chases Borne, but the demetend "clown" leaves the ring holding the TV title belt and runs through the crowd craddling the belt in his arms. Malenko can't pursue him as he's tangled with Chris Benoit and... It seems we have a match! RICKY STEAMBOAT IN AN OFFICIAL ECW/NWA MATCH!
Ricky Steamboat & Dean Malenko (/w. Mikey Whipwreck) defeat Mr. Hughes & Chris Benoit (/w. Bill Alfonso, Shane Douglas & Woman) when Steamboat pinned Hughes following a diving crossbody.

Post match, Douglas retreats up the ramp, throwing insults at Steamboat & Whipwreck. Douglas also screams at his stablemates, stating that they are incapable!
The Public Enemy are in the streets of Philly by night. Next week, they have to fight EACH OTHER to determine who will fight for the NWA North America Championship in the four way where Benoit & Taz already qualified. They jokingly tease each other on being better, but ultimately wish each other good luck for next week.
Mikey Whipwreck is making it back to the locker room with Ricky Steamboat, and they stumble on Terry Funk. Funk is proud of Mikey and makes ot known. Mikey apologizes from Tommy Dreamer turning on him, but the Funker reassures him: he will take care of Dreamer. He thought he could make amend, but he only offers forgiveness once. Now he intend on whipping Tommy-boy, and "old man Sullivan". He tells Whipwreck he still has an eye on him, but he got huge back up now. Funk smiles at Steamboat and the two men shake their hands.
From what seems to be boiling room, Cactus Jack is adressing the situation with Kevin Sullivan and Tommy Dreamer

"Kevin Sullivan... You tried to hurt me sooo many times. But three weeks ago, you tried to MURDER me, suffocating me with a plastic bag. Last week, you beat me up. Where would you have stopped if not for the staff? Would you have stop when my ribs were cracked? What would I have taken for you to stop beating me? KILLING ME? You're a sick, demented mind. You want to end me, because you're just evil... But there's no problem with me. I can understand wanting to kill someone. I can deal with it.

You want to kill me? Ok. Hell, I've fought in what we call "DEATH match" in Japan!

But... But you see. When you try to kill Cactus Jack, there's more to it... When you try to kill Cactus Jack, you try to make little Dewey an orphan of his father. And I can't deal with that. YOU WANT TO DEPRIVE MY SON OF HIS FATHER?! There's no way in hell I can let that happen. That's why, Kevin Sullivan, NEXT WEEK on Hardcore TV, the show will earn its name. I spoke to management, and I had to beg. They don't want that "hardcore" stuff anymore. It's not their identity, it's not the NWA. But I told them: i can't have a singles match! I need no rules to fight Kevin Sullivan! Do you know Kevin Sullivan embarrass himself with rules?... They refused, at first.

But you see, Cactus Jack sells ticket. So I had a privilege. Tod Gordon accepted. And the NWA board accepted.

So next week, Kevin Sullivan, whatever rathole you're currently in... NEXT WEEK... Kevin Sullivan goes one-on-one with Cactus Jack IN A HARDCORE MATCH!"
In our Main Event of the evening, Pizza Delivery Dudley (/w. Chubby & Dances with Dudley) defeats The Sandman (/w. Lori) via COUNT-OUT, when Jason Knight appeared and order his monster to KIDNAP Lori. Jason The Terrible hoisted her on his shoulder and they got off. It took somes seconds for the Sandman to realize, and he began chasing them.
The camera follows The Sandman as he runs like a madman, guided by the screams of his wife. We see the backstages areas, and he runs to the stairs of the building. He sees the two Jasons at the bottom of the stairs, and Knight tells him she doesn't want him anymore! But... Lori, from the should of The Terrible bite Jason Knight's ear! What the hell! Jason screams in agony, and The Terrible let Lori go by surprise. She runs upstairs to the Sandman, and Knight runs out of the arena, followed by his monster. At the top of the stairs, Sandman & Lori embrace.
"Hey! Yoyoyo!"

"PG-13 in the house, it's 'bout to get nAAAAstYYYYY

Show opens with a video hyping up tonight's Hardcore Match of Cactus Jack vs. Kevin Sullivan. The video covers the time when Sullivan and Cactus crossed paths in ECW in 1993, then their tag team run in WCW in 1994 (footage courtesy of WCW). It follows with Sullivan turning on Cactus in WCW in a brutal feud, then beating him in a loser leaves. It ends with Sullivan's return later this month and the revival of their brutal feud, interwinded with Tommy Dreamer turning on Terry Funk.
The Sandman is PISSED... Jason tried to kidnapp his wife! But Sandman says he wont go to the police, because he ain't a snitch, and he ain't a b*tch. Instead, he challenges Jason to a FIGHT! He wants him in the ring!

Jason comes out with his monster. He tells Sandman he has nothing to win in fighting The Sandman. He claims Lori's in love with him, she's just a conservative girl and wants her marriage canceld before they can get together. The delusional Jason seems sure of him, but Lori takes the mic "you disgust me you jerk!". Jason still is confident, he says it's the marriage that makes her say that, but he will destroy it. He accepts Sandman's challenge... But if he wins, he earn Sandman and Lori's marriage certificate! This way, he will cancel it and he can be with Lori. He lets Sandman a week to think about it, as he sees he's perplexed.
Rocco Rockbeats Johnny Grunge with a leg drop from the top rope, to qualify himself in the 4 way NWA North America Championship match.

Post match, out of nowhere come two men, dressed as rappers... PG 13! Wolfie D and JC Ice beat down the Public Enemy! They take the mic: THEY are the main tag team in ECW now, and in the all NWA. They proclaim they will beat Ron Simmons and 2 Gold Scorpio and WIN the NWA World Tag Team Championship.
It's time for the... Heart Break... MOTEL? Stevie Richards, still cosplaying as Shawn Michaels, welcomes us to a cheap knco-off the Heart Break Hotel set. He's on the heart shaped red bed, really sleazy. He says he's the "showended" of ECW and asks for a shot at the NWA North America Championship. Tonight, his guest is... HIMSELF! Richards just comes off as REALLY sleazy, full of himself. He says he's the closest thing to his idol Shawn Michaels in the World, and he will make of the NWA North America Championship what Michaels made of the Intercontinental Championship. He really really want this shot "and i'm ready to politic my way into it", shots fired. Richards also says he's going to form his own "Clique". Segment ends with a shot of Joey Styles in the commentator booth, laughing his ass off.
Matt Borne has some promo time, and he's as demented as ever. Craddling the ECW Television Championship belt in his arms and sporting his half-face clown makeup, he says HE'S the champion. Borne claims he who has the belt is the champion. He's not a thief, he's just more intelligent. Why fight over something he just can grab? Borne says he will never fight Dean Malenko, because he doesn't need to: HE'S ALREADY THE CHAMPION!

Borne gets interrupted by stablemate Chris Benoit. Benoit is a little perplexed by Borne's behaviour, but he has something to say. Benoit says he doesn't care about the NWA North America Championship, but he will fight. He will beat Rocco Rock, he will beat Taz and whoever else is in the match. Because this title will be a stepping stone to a NWA World Heavyweight championship. He reminds us that Shane Douglas is not his friend, no one in the Entourage is (Matt Borne comically reacts to this as if he was shot in the heart). They're business associates, and he will have what Shane Douglas promised him: a shot at the real wrestling world championship. "Now come on, Matt. We have a match."

Match ends when Mikey Whipwreck pins Matt Borne following a Ricky Steamboat diving crossbody and a Dean Malenko diving headbutt.

Post match, Dean Malenko storms out of the ring and retrieve his ECW TV Title Belt. Mikey Whipwreck takes the microphone. He says he now has a single victory over EVERY member of the Entourage! He still isn't sure how that happened, but... HE WANTS A NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH! An irrate Shane Douglas tells him he never pinned him, he had his foot under the rope, the ref made a fast count, HE NEVER BEAT HIM LAST WEEK! He says Bill Alfonso reversed the decision. Ricky Steamboat takes the microphone and tells Douglas the NWA Championship Committee has sanctionned Mikey Whipwreck as his challenger, and he knows this well because... HE'S PART OF THE NWA CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE! And this time he will make SURE the rules are upholded. He wants to be the special ref for Whipwreck vs. Douglas !

Douglas calms everyone down, he's shocked, he catches his breath... And then smiles, he seemingly has a brillant idea he's proud of. He says he WILL NOT DEFEND under those conditions... But he has an idea. He offers Steamboat & Whipwreck a challenge: a tag team match. The two of us against Douglas and someone else. If they win, Steamboat will be the referee of the Whipwreck/Douglas. for the belt. But is Shane Douglas' team win, BILL ALFONSO will be made the special guest referee. Whipwreck and Steamboat look at each other and talk about it off mic, then the Underdog turns to the Champion... IT'S ON! "Bring any member of your Entourage, with the Dragon by my side we will beat you!" Douglas has a huge grin on his face. "I will not team with a member of the Entourage. Next week, I will reveal you my partner... I need to make a phone call first."... Who is her talking about?
Cactus Jack is taping his fists for the main event... It's about to get HARDCORE!
In a brutal Hardcore Match where both men bled, and where a table was broken, Kevin Sullivan beats Cactus Jack with a Devil's Stomp onto the chair on Cactus Jack, following a Tommy Dreamer interference.

Post match, Terry Funk comes out running, wielding a chair. He swings at Dreamer, but his former protege dodge the chair and leaves the ring. Since Dreamer turned on Funk, the Funker never succeed in hitting him. Kevin Sullivan also leaves the ring, and he and Dreamer... Hug each other?! Sullivan takes a microphone ringside. "I said I was in ECW for my son. But I misled you. Tommy Dreamer is not my son, HE'S MY HEIR! HE IS THE NEW LEGEND! HE IS THE SCOURGE OF ECW!... AND HE IS YOUR PERSONAL NIGHTMARE TERRY FUNK! And next week he will beat you, ONE on ONE!"

As I leave tommorrow for a [well deserved ] 2 weeks holiday, I won't be posting anymore shows for that time.

I’m still traumatised from Tommy’s turn. And on The Funker too, though storyline wise, there’s your hook. Loved Stevie’s fascination with amateur wrestling and was hoping the pay-off would be a match with Rick Steiner (is that even possible in 1995?) but now as a Shawn Michaels rip-off it could be even better. Heart Break Motel got a laugh too. Cactus being protective of Mikey is very sweet. I’m totally buying that. And loving the appearance from Steamboat. Looking forward to Douglas’ tag match.
