Big fan of DDP bringing up THE JUICE that Steiner is on. <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Of course Wrath got pinned, he's just holding Mortis back at this point. Somebody needs to give that guy a Flatliner already.</p><p> </p><p>

It just occurred to me that Edge is a much better fit for The Flock here than he was when WWF introduced him as this mysteriously aloof bystander watching on from the crowd. I like the addition of Abyss too. What a parallel between your universe and mine where they are bitter rivals haha.</p><p> </p><p>

I thought that Davey Boy was there to lose too, how did you manage to twist Hogan and Savage's arms into losing that one? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Sting retaining was probably the obvious call but you did enough there to suggest that maybe Scott Hall was going to take it home.</p>

Excellent show from top to bottom. WCW really had such a stacked roster at this point!

Hogan deciding not to help Savage is such a classic heel Hogan thing for him to do and it immediately makes me excited to see what the fallout from that might be. I was also completely convinced that Davey Boy would take the fall in that match, so the moment legit caught me by surprise, which I liked.

Really enjoyed the show and I'm looking forward to seeing where things go from here. Great job!

Thanks man! Davey Boy is one of those guys that I think could've made a pretty good impact in WCW at this time had he not gotten that horrific injury that led to all of his issues. An indirect win over Hogan and Savage means he's legit. Of course I wouldn't have had him pin Hogan or anything, but as long as he's with Bret he's going to be more than just his support. I want the Bulldog to be a big player in WCW.

I specifically wrote Eaton into that as a nod to the prediction :D. As for DDP, with how personal that feud had gotten I figured it was the time to say what everyone was thinking. And who better than Mr. DDPYoga himself?

I've tried to bring Edge in sort of like everyone else, though he's kind of positioned himself as Raven's mysterious lieutenant - higher than Lodi, Sick Boy, etc., but maybe not quite a Saturn (or Benoit) yet. I want him to stand out and feel important, which is why I haven't really booked him in many matches yet. And Abyss seemed like a perfect fit. I went back and forth on different names for him but ultimately decided that Abyss encapsulates him perfectly.

Keep Strong and Protect notes for Hogan and Savage were key :D. And yeah, I actually almost pulled the trigger and put the belt on Hall because he's been absolutely excellent so far and has caused zero problems, but I have a bigger long-term plan for the belt (and for Sting and Hall) so I didn't think it was the right time just yet. As long as he stays clean, Hall's a strong contender for a title run later on. I'm glad there was at least a hint that he might have won here.

I'll have the Nitro preview up probably tomorrow.

WCW Monday Nitro

Monday, Week 4, February 1998

ARCO Arena; Sacramento, CA

One night after the explosive SuperBrawl VIII, we are hot on the road to WCW Uncensored! After Sting retained his championship against Scott Hall, he has promised to tell the world what’s next for the World Title! However, it may not be his choice, as he has to defend the belt just one night after being smashed in the head with a bottle by Kevin Nash-- he will take on the Cruiserweight Champion and one of the fastest rising stars in World Championship Wrestling, Eddy Guerrero! Can the dangerous Guerrero shock the world, or will Sting again rise triumphant?

Another set of champions is in action, though in a non-title match: Harlem Heat will take on the new World order team of “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Brian Adams, who have been referring to themselves as Total Madness. Can the Heat knock off another set of dangerous challengers? We will also hear from Bret “The Hitman” Hart after the Hart Family victory at SuperBrawl, and Scott Steiner has demanded another United States Championship shot after the chaotic events leading to his loss to Diamond Dallas Page. Tune in for another volatile episode of WCW Monday Nitro!

The card announced thus far is as follows:

Glacier & Ernest Miller vs. La Parka & Psychosis

Harlem Heat w/Jacqueline Moore vs. Total Madness (Randy Savage & Brian Adams) w/Elizabeth

The British Bulldog vs. Buff Bagwell w/Scott Norton & Vincent

Hypnosis has got this one.

Non-Title Match

Harlem Heat w/Jacqueline Moore vs. Total Madness (Randy Savage & Brian Adams) w/Elizabeth

Adams can take the pin.

Ray Traylor vs. Saturn w/The Flock

I like Traylor a lot and think he's one of wrestling's most underrated guys, but I highly doubt you're having Saturn lose here.

The British Bulldog vs. Buff Bagwell w/Scott Norton & Vincent

Keep the momentum going for Davey Boy.

Bill Goldberg vs. Juventud Guerrera

Goldberg is on THE JUICE!

Rick Martel & Disco Inferno vs. Silver King & Halloween

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Sting © vs. Eddy Guerrero

Eddy is no Joe E. Legend. :p

Glacier & Ernest Miller vs. La Parka & Psychosis

I actually quite liked The Cat but Glacier makes me go against them here.

Non-Title Match

Harlem Heat w/Jacqueline Moore vs. Total Madness (Randy Savage & Brian Adams) w/Elizabeth

While there were certainly shenanigans involved, Savage lost at the PPV. And given that this is a non-title match I could see him getting a win here rather than lose twice in a row.

Ray Traylor vs. Saturn w/The Flock

I like Traylor better but I think Saturn takes it here.

The British Bulldog vs. Buff Bagwell w/Scott Norton & Vincent

If you want to make the Bulldog a big deal he probably shouldn't lose to Buff Daddy here, though I do think Buff was a great heel.

Bill Goldberg vs. Juventud Guerrera

Squash.

Rick Martel & Disco Inferno vs. Silver King & Halloween

Martel and Disco are both solid enough midcarders.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship

Sting © vs. Eddy Guerrero

Too early for Eddy.
