Hey guys an update:

The reason for the delay is twofold. Over the weekend I had a small illness (I’m fine now and recovered) and this week with my real job is just overwhelmingly busy. And I want to stay on my real life schedule with this diary. Sooo, to get back on schedule I am going to pause this for the rest of the week. Basically take a week off. Monday, April Week 1 will happen this Monday. That will allow me to finish the show (it’s about half done) and get back to the normal real life schedule that I do with it. Meanwhile, rosters and champs are updated on the first page.

In reality this is around the time WCW's main events began to look aged compared to the WWF's, who had fresh faces headlining their shows. So, just out of curiosity, who are the headliners for the Fed just now?

Piper couldn't really go by this time in reality but I like how you've booked his turn here. Funnily enough, Piper wanted to work with Raven around late 98/99 as he was an early mentor of his. Was willing to go so far as letting Raven bring up his prior drug abuse and his trouble childhood. Just throwing that out there....

WCW Monday Nitro opens to a video montage of last week showing JJ Dillon being stretchered out of the building, Roddy Piper finding a pipe and a note, Piper promising nothing would happen here tonight and then Piper talking to Sting before the lights go out and when they come back on Piper nails Sting in the knee and starts whacking away at the champ. The video ends with Piper saying “every time you know the answers, I change the damned questions”.

Nitro opens up and Rowdy Roddy Piper is already in the ring. A lone spotlight on him as he sneers at the booing Chicago fans.

Piper says that a few months ago he had a choice to make. Stick around or leave. He came here for one purpose and that was to beat Hogan but there was another purpose even Piper didn’t know he had in his heart. A burning need that exploded within him - become World Champion. And a few months ago, Piper saw his last chance when Sting beat Hogan and ran him out of WCW. This was the opportunity that Piper needed. But he had to strike when he was ready and no one must figure it out before it was time. So, sacrificial lambs had to be made and it was as easy to frame the nWo for it. All of it to make sure that no one suspected a thing until it was time. Until Piper could strike and have his goal within rea…

Piper is stopped when JJ Dillon, on crutches and flanked by security, comes slowly down the aisle. He stops short of getting into the ring. JJ says he’s never been more disappointed in anyone than he is in Roddy Piper. But, this is JJ’s fault because it was Dillon that made Roddy Piper Commissioner of WCW. Thankfully this can all be rectified right now because Roddy Piper, you’re hereby terminated.

Piper just laughs and asks JJ if he thinks Piper is stupid. Roddy says he knew all along that when this happened, there would be hell to pay. So in his final act as Commissioner, Piper made two decisions. The first is that Roddy Piper wrote himself a new 3 year no cut contract where Piper cannot be fired for any reason. And the second is that Roddy Piper made himself the challenger for the World Title at Spring Stampede in San Antonio. So, yeah Dillion can remove Piper as commissioner but Piper is here to stay for three more years.

JJ says that’s fine. Then if Piper is a wrestler then wrestle he will. Here tonight. In our main event. Against Sting’s best friend and a victim of Piper’s attacks….Lex Luger! Oh and that match is no holds barred.

Piper is kicking the ropes as JJ leaves while security protects Dillon.

Booker avoids a spear as soon as the match begins and shows he can hold his own as he keeps Goldberg frustrated and coaxes him into making a few mistakes with his aggression. Booker even hits the Harlem Hangover but when Booker grins to the crowd he doesn’t see Goldberg pop right back up. When he turns around he is demolished by a spear and the Jackhammer follows.

An excellent back and forth match with both men getting in offense and putting the other in jeopardy. Benoit begins wearing down Saturn with stiff chops before climbing to the top for a diving headbutt. That’s when Lodi runs down onto the apron. The referee is distracted and doesn’t see Raven’s new monster Reese steps over the barrier and climbs onto the ring, shoving Benoit off and he lands in a heap. Saturn recovers and delivers a Death Valley Driver for the win.

After the match Raven orders the Nest to attack Benoit and this continues until both Diamond Dallas Page & Steve McMichael run out to run Raven and his goons off. Page gets on the mic and says that they may have a title match at Spring Stampede, but Page wants a piece of Raven’s ass next week. DDP challenges Raven to a warm up match next week on Nitro. Raven backs off scowling but doesn’t answer.

Kidman is flying solo in this one and he could have used the backup. Jericho controls the match from the beginning and shows his usual offensive maneuvers. Kidman does get a few moments of offense but when he goes to the top, Jericho arm drags him off to the mat. With Kidman writhing in pain, Jericho puts him in the Liontamer and gets the submission..

LEX LUGER VS RODDY PIPER

Luger is out for revenge and Piper spends several minutes dodging and running which only angers Luger more. He finally gets his hands on Piper and makes him pay with some powerful offense. Piper rolls to the outside for a breather and Luger follows. When he chases Piper back into the ring, Piper kicks Luger low. With Luger on his knees and in obvious pain, Piper pulls something out of his tights and punches Luger apparently knocking him out. Piper makes the cover but when the referee hesitates Piper yanks him down by the shirt and orders him to count 1, 2, 3.

Nope. Actually the reason I did what I did with him and Goldberg was because he refused to re-sign. I initially was gonna go in a different direction.
