Willsky Posted February 22, 2021 Author Share Posted February 22, 2021 <p>I think it's best to tell you all this before we know who the predictions competition winner is.</p><p> </p><p> Originally the prize of winning the competition was you get to pick a worker to join the League in a forthcoming season. DinoKea won last time and picked Riddick Jordan. But it's going to be a long time until Jordan appears (late September in the game which is more than 3 months after he was picked at the end of May in game).</p><p> </p><p> That's because I like to write the shows way ahead of time. I'm currently about 20 shows ahead of schedule. That means I can post shows consistently and never feel rushed. However, it does make the reward of picking a new competitor so far detached from the time of winning. Especially as I get further and further ahead. I want to get cracking with Season 5 before I finish posting Season 3 - that means the winner of this season's prediction competition would have to wait until season 6 to see their worker. That's ridiculous.</p><p> </p><p> So, instead of choosing a new worker, I've come up with an alternative that's tied into a new feature I want to introduce.</p><p> </p><p> Joanne Rodriguez has a podcast called Behind The Curtain. As she's a regular feature on PWL shows, it makes sense for her to do a collaboration with the company. </p><p> </p><p> Every season, J-Ro will host a PWL special podcast, co-hosted with Figo. It'll be a kayfabe show featuring sections about stats and figures of the League, a recap of the happenings in the League of late, and, most importantly, an in-depth interview with one of the wrestlers. And I mean very in depth.</p><p> </p><p> So, starting with this season, the prediction competition winner will get to choose the wrestler who appears on the upcoming podcast. They, and all of the others who get the 50% of predictions needed to enter the predictions competition, will all be able to submit a question to that wrestler as an "Ask Me Anything" kind of format as part of the overall interview. </p><p> </p><p> I'm going to throw yet another credit at christmas_ape because he does this in RAW Attitude and it's great fun.</p><p> </p><p> I think this will work much better because I don't have to write the podcasts at the same time as things advance in game. Masked Cougar- Ernest is just as strong as Frankie, and Masked Cougar isn't going to be what stops him. Captain Lucha def. Apollo Prince- The Captain's feud with Mr. Lucha III is affecting his focus, and that'll be enough to give Apollo the advantage. Kalu Owusu def. Tigre Salvaje Jr- I think that Owusu's going to put it back together this round after coming up short last week. Also, two main events in a row! Masked Cougar vs. Yasuhide Tayama- Tayama has to make up for lost time, and a win will make his run to avoid relegation a more dramatic affair. Ernest Youngman vs. Mr. Lucha III- I'm still running on Ernest and Frankie being undefeated until they face each other. Apollo Prince vs. Kalu Owusu- The biggest showoff faces the hardest worker. And in this case, I think that Owusu will continue to be unbreakable. Frankie Perez vs. Tigre Salvaje Jr- See what I said about Youngman. Frankie's streak isn't over yet. I like the contrast this season with it being a clear two horse race, even if one season there's a clear run away winner I think that's part of the appeal of it being a realistic league. It's all fun in RL sports when a league table is super close right between say 5 teams right down to the end but realistically that almost never happens. It wouldn't surprise me if one of the front runners took a mistep tonight and then had to win next week to tie. Or I could see a draw. Nelson Callum vs. Yasuhide Tayama- Tayama can pull off an epic comeback, while the best that Nelson can do now is not completely go down in flames. Sorry Nelson, but you're getting relegated. Captain Lucha vs. Kalu Owusu- I've made my fandom of Owusu clear, but I did realize something else. Since Captain and Mr. Lucha have been feuding, wouldn't it be ironic if they both found themselves in the playoffs? Mr. Lucha III vs. Tigre Salvaje Jr- Going along with the theory that I just mentioned, I feel like we're about to see Mr. Lucha go from top of the league to fighting for his spot.
