Backstage, cameras fade into Lex Luger and Sting talking. "What happened Saturday, Stinger?" Luger asks. "Saturday? Why don't we talk about last Monday when I was jumped by The Outsiders and you conveniently didn't notice?" Sting snaps back. "Lex, you've known me for too long to stand here and question my loyalty to you" Sting states. "I'm not questioning your loyalty to me, Sting. I'm questioning these circumstances." Luger says. "You know what, Lex? I don't have the time for this. If you haven't noticed, there is a war happening here in WCW !" Sting exclaims before walking away from Luger. "Yeah...I've noticed." A lot of loyalty has been tested lately. What do you say?" "Oooo yeah a lot of loyalties are being tested Mean Gene, but the one loyalty that shouldn't be tested is tha of the Macho Man yeah?" As the Macho Man finishes up his statement, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair comes onto the scene. "Wait a minute, Ric Flair..." Gene tries to say. "Gene...Gene...we're keeping it mellow tonight baby. Savage! Savage, if there is anyone who doesn't have a loyalty to anyone but himself, it's you!" "Say it again, Nature Boy." Savage says calmly as he taks his glasses off to stare into the eys of Flair. "Let me break it down for you, Savage!" Flair yells. "You can't be trusted!" "Yeah? Let's go down to that ring and put your theory to test! Ooooo yeah!" "One-on-One with the Nature Boy? Wooo! As Scott Hall sets Flair up for an Outsider's Edge, we have company coming down to the ring... It's The Giant! Hall shoves Flair aside as The Giant steps over the top rope. Hall and Nash attack The Giant until he shoves them both away then steps up into Hogan's face! Hogan cautiously backs away from The Giant and exists the ring. "Giant! Giant! You made a big mistake, brother. No one is bigger than the nWo. Even you!" Hogan says as he and The Outsiders talk privately. "Someone give me a referee. We have a big problem here, and I know just the big man to take care of it!" Hogan demands as he pats Kevin Nash on the back with a grin. An official has hit the ring! Hold him up, hold him up" The Outsiders hold The Giant up as Hogan gets a running start and clocks him with the World title belt, sending The Giant crashing to the mat! There are people in this business you want to have your back, and there are people you don't want to make your enemy. All I'll say is this, Gene. nWo? Levinux
Blood Runs Cold! Man I remember how hyped I was for that... mind you I was a small child, but still... Fun show! (disappointed Alex Wright's opportunity for the Television title wasn't on Nitro lol)... and Michael Wallstreet defeating Jericho giving Jericho a rough 0-2 night. The Glacier promos were great! I really enjoyed the Mortis tie in also. I'm between a rock and a hard place for Jericho and Disco Inferno as well. They are "Unimportant", so my Nitro options for them are limited. I have a few guys I need to move to the "Recognizable" perception working some Nitro pre-show matches in an attempt to help them out. Levinux
Over the course of the next week or so, I'll be making a change to the graphics. While they looked great in Photoshop, side-by-side, the mismatches sizes so names will fit is not good looking. So, bear with me as you may see some images be replaced. "Gene, the inmates are trying to run WCW, and I don't mean the nWo" Sting says intensely as he walks off camera. <a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Arn Anderson.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/misc/vs.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Sting 96.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/>Arn Anderson vs. Sting In a bout that had superb wrestling and great heat, Arn Anderson drew with Sting in 11:54 when the match was ruled a no-contest as the nWo made their way ringside, distracting both Anderson and Sting. <a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Hollywood Hogan Champ.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Scott Hall nWo.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Kevin Nash Outsiders.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Randy Savage nWo.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/> <a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Arn Anderson.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/><a href=https://wcwontew.com/images/people/Sting 96.jpg" alt="" style="-webkit-user-select: none;margin: auto;"/> As the nWo make their way around the ring, Sting and Anderson stand side by side until Anderson grabs Sting's shoulder, spins him around, then points at the nWo, questioning Sting. Sting and Anderson trade words until Sting walks by Anderson, exits the ring and heads towards the back. As Sting is walking to the back, Anderson turns around to find the nWo already in the ring. Levinux
WCW Monday Nitro Monday Week 2 September 1996 Gainsville, FL 11,548 in Attendance Tony Schiavone and Larry Zbyszko welcome everyone to WCW Monday Nitro and recap last week's show. Diamond Dallas Page vs. Ric Flair In a good match, Ric Flair defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 14:39 by pinfall with a quick cradle. Glacier vs. Lizmark, Jr. In his debut match, Glacier defeated Lizmark Jr. in 3:44 by pinfall with a Cryonic Kick. Backstage, The Steiner Brothers approach Lex Luger and try to convince him to ease up on Sting. The Steiners use War Games as a reference for why Lex needs Sting, and why WCW needs Sting, and Lex's continued accusations are not helping. Lex looks at The Steiners frustrated as cameras fade to the ring. Super Calo vs. Rey Mysterio Jr In a bout that had terrible wrestling and non-existent crowd heat, Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Super Calo in 6:23 by pinfall with a Springboard Huracarrana. In the crowd, cameras capture a familiar face at ringside recording the Rey Mysterio Jr and Super Calo match. He puts the movie camera down as he notices the camera on him, gestures "six", then picks up his camera and exits through the crowd. WCW World Television ChampionshipDean Malenko vs. Lord Steven Regal In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Dean Malenko drew with Lord Steven Regal in 15:00 when the time limit expired. We return backstage to The Steiner Brothers in the locker room as Sting walks in. Scott Steiner walks up to Sting and begins trying to smooth things over regarding Luger as Rick Steiner stays back, looking a bit frustrated. Sting smiles, pats Scott on the back and says don't worry about a thing, then leaves the locker room. Rick immediately comes up to Scott and questions why they are wasting their time on Sting, who clearly is not on the side of WCW. Disco Inferno vs. Jim Duggan In a bout that had little heat and embarrassing wrestling, Jim Duggan defeated Disco Inferno in 6:02 by pinfall with an Old Glory Knee Drop. Backstage, Mean Gene Okerlund is with Kevin Sullivan, and the Dungeon of Doom. Sullivan explains to Gene and the viewers that the Ungeon has been overlooked and tonight, they seek justice against increasingly powerful opponents; the IV Horseme, then the New World Order. Conspicuous by his absense, The Giant is not with the Dungeon of Doom. Big Bubba Rogers & Kevin Sullivan vs. Chris Benoit & Steve McMichael In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Chris Benoit and Steve McMichael drew with Kevin Sullivan and Big Bubba Rogers in 9:42 following a double count out. As we return from commercial, Bobby Heenan looks off camera, then removes his headset and suddenly takes off. Then, the New World Order come into view of the Nitro set as they continue to antagonize Eric Bischoff for being a pretty boy. When it looks like the nWo is going to leave, Hollywood Hogan and Randy Savage decide to stay and join Bischoff. The Faces of Fear vs. The Outsiders In a good match, The Outsiders defeated The Faces of Fearin 11:41 when Kevin Nash pinned The Barbarian with a Powerbomb. As the match ends and Jimmy Hart enters the ring to try to get The Faces of Fear to regroup, The Outsiders taunt them as the exit down the aisle to end Monday Nitro. Jaysin
Under the TV Title match headline it has the wrong participants. But other than that, another great show
