The Ultimate B-League

Recommended Posts

For so long, I have been thinking of a new dynasty (P.S.: Sorry for the lack of closure on the KSW one, but life happens - I got a cat, it somehow used its feline powers to destroy my old laptop and I'm too dumb to recover save the files I had there). And finally, after thinking about the PFL or a champions vs. champions company that would have every other big company as a feeder, I've came up with the ultimate concept:

THE ULTIMATE B LEAGUE!

KNoZp5d

(the logo is stolen from some kind of basketball league :o )

"What's the Ultimate B-League?", you might wonder. Well, lads, the UBL is the most badass thing an MMA promoter could do. We gonna do the modified Robin Hood schtick - we gonna steal EXCLUSIVELY from the poor until we eat the rich. Well, not really until the UFC goes bankrupt as this will likely never happen in game, but the goal of the save is to get bigger than the UFC, using the UBL, respecting a set of (exactly two) rules.

But first, allow me to explain what the UBL is. It's the company that takes "B-tier" fighters and turns them into stars and worldbeaters. It's not the classic B-League, since becoming a champion or a top contender here doesn't lead to a promotion to somewhere else. But it's a company that will take the guys that are perceived as "second best".

Basically, I like Fight Matrix. You might have heard of it, it's a site that ranks fighters based on some interesting statistics, but most importantly, it ranks fighters from almost all the companies of the world. So, using their rankings, I made the UBL roster: 10 divisions (HW-FlyW for males, BW & FlyW for the ladies), made up of the 26-50 ranked fighters from the Fight Matrix rankings. I made one exception as of now (only did half of the divisions as of the time of this writing) - I left Khamzat Dalgiev in the UFC and took the 25th ranked WW instead.

Now, about the rules of the save:

- I will sign no UFC fighters. As in, if a UFC fighter's contract is expiring and the UFC are trying to re-sign him, I will not enter a bidding war. But I may sign them if the UFC lets the contract run out or cuts them. Basically, simply no bidding-wars with the UFC over UFC talent.

- I will sign no fighter from other companies that is in the world top 25 of his division. Unless the UFC is also trying to sign that fighter. Which will, most likely, happen, so this rule will likely be worthless. But who knows?

Well, that's about it with the rules.

I'll run the company pretty much as I run KSW in that wonderful dynasty (THAT YOU CAN FIND RIGHT HERE!). I'll have 5 of the divisions have tournaments for the championship, while the champions of the other 5 divisions will defend in a more classic way. When a tournament ends, another one starts in another divison. At first, I'll do a set of 1-night 4-men/women tournament to determine the inaugural champions. Also, one GP a year keeps the world sincere. I'll likely have it take place every November, like in the KSW dynasty, with the winner earning a title shot in his division.

I'll be doing school projects for the rest of the week, so it's likely next week when I'll be able to introduce you the roster, initial rankings and first shows and tournaments.

Until then, take care of yourselves, stay safe and healthy, and, of course, drink the right amount of water (and other liquids as well)!

On the prelims, we'll have 6 fights, 3 in each division of the main card tournaments. We will start off with:

UBL: CROWNING SEASON

29 January 2021

Somewhere in Eastern Europe

Prelims:

HW: Salimgirey Rasulov vs. Jake Heun

FW: Kevin Belingon vs. Cody Stamann

FW: Leandro Higo v. Movlid Khaybulaev

FW: #5 Daniel Weichel v. #6 Ilia Topuria

HW: #5 Tai Tuivasa v. #7 Greg Hardy

HW: #6 Stefan Struve v. #8 Alexander Romanov

Main card preview:

1. Featherweight Tournament: #1 Andre FILI (21-8, -480) vs. #2 Hakeem DAWODU (12-1-1, +380)

Andre Fili is coming off a competitive UD loss against Bryce Mitchell in the UFC, and he's something of a decision machine, as he's on a streak of 10 decisions (going 6-4 in these bouts, and including a major W against the GOAT, Artem Lobov), and he's 9-7 in the UFC. He's a good, well rounded striker, who can take a lot of punishment and strike back in style. He's also armed with good TDD and lots of heart, being able to pose a threat to any kind of fighter. Hakeem is 7-0-1 in the WSOF and 5-1 in the UFC, on a 5 fight win streak. His mainly a striker who loves to punch and isn't really well rounded. Still, I expect 15 minutes of close kickboxing.

Prediction: Fili by decision.

2. Featherweight Tournament: #3 Movsar EVLOEV (13-0, -480) vs. #4 Makwan AMIRKHANI (16-5, +380)

Undefeated Russian prospect Movsar Evloev is 3-0 in the UFC and is finally getting the chance to make the jump from prospect to star. He's a tough sambo fighter who has a great ground game, especially from the top. He has a great RNC, winning 3 out of his first 4 pro fights with it. He's hard to take down, has a good wrestling clinch, powerful hands and a great chin, plus good cardio, I'd say he's a pretty big problem. Amirkhani is 6-3 in the UFC, coming off a competitive UD loss against Edson Barboza. He's mainly a wrestler, and he likes pulling his opponents in his guard to work from the bottom. He has a strong submission game, a good chin and good conditioning.

Prediction: Evloev by decision.

3. Heavyweight Tournament: #2 Sergey SPIVAK (11-2, -450) vs. #3 Tanner BOSER (19-7-1, +350)

Spivak is 2-2 in the UFC, coming off a majority decision win. He's a well rounded sambo fighter, with very strong strikes and high quality grappling skills, both on the feet and on the gorund. Tanner Boser is 3-2 in the UFC coming off a UD loss to Andrei Alrovski. He's a pretty good dirty boxer with decent ability when the fight goes to the ground. Shouldn't be a big problem for Spivak.

Prediction: Spivak by 1st round KO.

4. Heavyweight Tournament: #1 Ben ROTHWELL (38-13, +110) vs. #4 Sergey PAVLOVICH (14-1, -150)

Big Ben is a UFC veteran with victories over greats like Overeem and Josh Barnett. He's 8-7 in the UFC, he has great power in his hands and pretty good clinch control and takedowns, but he's been slowing down and getting older. Pavlovich is a sambo fighter who went 2-1 in the UFC, with that 1 L being against Alistair Overeem. Like Spivak, he's very well rounded, with his decent-to-good ground game being the only sub-par part of his game. His biggest asset is his KO power, as 11 of his 14 wins came via KO/TKO. Good luck with this stud, Ben.

Prediction: Pavlovich by 2nd round KO.

5. FW Tournament Final

6. HW Tournament Final

What do you think will happen in these wonderful bouts, lads?

Main card predictions:

Andre Fili vs. Hakeem Dawodu

Movsar Evloev vs. Makwan Amirkhani

Sergey Spivak vs. Tanner Boser

Ben Rothwell vs. Sergey Pavlovich

Inaugural FW Champion: Fili / Dawodu / Evloev / Amirkhani

Inaugural HW Champion: Spivak / Boser / Rothwell / Pavlovich

Personally, I see Evloev and Spivak as the favorites.

HW: #8 Alexander Romanov defeats #7 Stefan Struve (UD: 30-27 x 3).</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Main card:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

1. Featherweight Inaugural Title Tournament, semi-final: #1 Andre FILI (21-8, -480) v. #2 Hakeem Dawodu (12-1-1, +380)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: They start off hot, throwing hands for the first minute, looking quite even. Fili is using his reach advantage, but Dawodu is getting close and hitting just as hard. As they enter the 4th minute, both fighters connect with impressive boxing combos. In the last minute, Fili manages to catch Dawodu's kick and then proceeds to take him down. Dawodu spends the rest of 40 seconds on his ass, with his back against the cage, taking small shots from Fili. 10-9 Fili in my book.</p><p>

Round 2: They come out swinging again and Fili gets touched by a hard hook. They trade more shots, and Dawodu misses two jabs, but then catches Fili with another strong hook, staggering him. BIG HEAD KICK AND FILI'S DOWN! Dawodu's hitting massive punches and that's it!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Hakeem Dawodu (kick and kill TKO @2:00, round 2). Rating: Good.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>2. Featherweight Inaugural Title Tournament, semi-final: #3 Movsar EVLOEV (13-0, -480) v. Makwan AMIRKHANI (16-5, +380).</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Evloev misses his jabs but hits two strong hooks in the first 30 seconds, and Amirkhani now sports a nice cut on his forehead, which might affect his vision soon. Evloev hits a combo and then a big straight. Amirkhani musters up the courage to hit a jab, but Evloev hits him with a jab-cross combo and Amirkhani's in trouble! BIG RIGHT AND AMIRKHANI'S DOWN! Evloev smashes him with some hard strikes but Amirkhani manages to defend well on the floor. Evloev hits from side control and fails with an triangle choke attempt, BUT THEN GETS IN A TERRIFYING KIMURA! BUT AMIRKHANI GETS FREE SOMEHOW! He tries once more, but fails, and the ref gets them up as the round ends.</p><p>

Round 2: Evloev starts out swinging again, nailing Amirkhani with strong shots without getting touched. A wild uppercut sends Amirkhani down, and Evloev rains down with big punches one more time! He goes for the kimura again! Uninspired, as he spends the next 2 minutes trying to lock in armbars and kimuras with no success. He also tries to lock in a kneebar, and after this failed attempt, the ref gets them up with 90 seconds left in round 2. 30 seconds later, Amirkhani is groggy again as Evloev rocked him with 2 combos. EVLOEV HITS A BIG RIGHT BUT AMIRKHANI IS STILL ON HIS FEET! ANOTHER HUGE PUNCH AND THAT'S IT, HE'S OUT COLD! WHAT A BEATING WE'VE JUST SEEN!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Movsar Evloev (SMESH KO @4:13, round 2). Rating: Good.</p><p> </p><p>

Evloev surely took less damage than Dawodu, but he also might have spent more energy, as he's been quite active in the time he spent in top control.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>3. Heavyweight Inaugural Title Tournament, semi-final: #2 Sergey SPiVAK (11-2, -450) vs. #3 Tanner BOSER (19-7-1, +350)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Boser has around 30lbs over Spivak.</p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Spivak eats two hooks and hits a jab in the first minute. Both fighters defend well in the early striking exchanges. Boser lands a third hook, while Spivak lands a jab. Spivak hits a spin kick to the ribs, then a low kick. Boser lands his 4th hook for today, tho. We move on past the half time of the round and Boser is already breathing heavier. Spivak finally hits a strong hook, in another interesting boxing trade. Spivak also breaths a little heavier as we reach the end of the round, and he gets counter-jabbed while missing with his strikes. Spivak hits a good overhead punch before the bell. Competitive round but gotta give it to Spivak for the damage his shots did, 10-9 Spivak.</p><p>

Round 2: Spivak goes straight for the single leg TD, and Boser's down pulling guard. Boser manages to scramble but it backfires, as Spivak is now on his back with the hooks in! Rear naked choke and and there's the tap, it's over!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Sergey Spivak (RNC sub @1:41, round 2). Rating: Average.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>4. Heavyweight Inaugural Title Tournament, semi-final: #1 Ben ROTHWELL (38-13, +110) vs. #4 Sergey PAVLOVICH (14-1, -150)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Big Ben has around 20lbs over Pavlovich</p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Jab+low-kick combo lands for Pavlovich, while Ben hits a cross. Jabs land from Pavlovich, and he then dodges a hook from Ben and counters with a head kick! Ben looks rocked! A CLEANER HEAD KICK LANDS FOR PAVLOVICH AND ROTHEWELL IS ON THE FLOOR! Pavlovich is throwing big strikes, but Ben starts defending well. A scramble sees Ben gain top control, as Pavlovich pulls guard! Small strikes land for Ben, and then he fends off an armbar attempt. A scramble attempt sees Ben advance to side control, and he throws small strikes as the round ends. Hard to judge this as Ben almost got finished, but spent so much time in top control. I give it to Rothwell by a slim margin, 10-9 Rothwell.</p><p>

Round 2: Two jabs and a low kick land for Pavlovich. Ben misses a big cross and Pavlovich comes in with two jabs AND ANOTHER BIG HEAD KICK! But Rothwell shakes it off! They trade jabs and they both breath heavier as we reach the 3rd minute. Rothwell needs to stop with the wild crosses, as he misses another one and gets smashed with a big hook! Rothwell is downed again! HAMMERFISTS LAND FROM PAVLOVICH AND THE REF SEPARATES THEM!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Sergey Pavlovich (Hammerfists TKO @2:47, round 2). Rating: Good.</p><p>

Ben Rothwell fell in the world HW rankings from #19 to #24</p><p> </p><p>

Both fighters seem to have taken a similar level of damage and spent just as much energy in the first fight.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>5. Now, onto our first crowning of the night! THE FOLLOWING CONTEST, IS FOR THE INAUGURAL ULTIMATE B LEAGUE FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIIIIIIP!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>'MEAN' HAKEEM DAWODU (13-1-1, +300) vs. MOVSAR EVLOEV (14-0, -400)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Dawodu starts out hitting a spinning back kick to the chest! Evloev is pacient and finds the right moment for the takedown, and Dawodu pulls guard. Evloev advances to half guard. A scramble sees Evloev back in guard. He hits Dawodu with a good elbow. As he tries to advance, a new scramble happens, and Evloev is in half guard by the end of it. 0 damage and 2 scrambles later, Evloev is on his feet, holding the downed Dawodu in a waist lock with 30 seconds left. He finally starts hitting Dawodu as the round ends. 10-9 Evloev for sure.</p><p>

Round 2: Evloev spends little time waiting, and 15 seconds in, Dawodu is seated against the cage, pressed up by Evloev. Evloev gets him away from the cage and now sits in side control. He throws a few body shots and fails with a kneebar attempt. A few shots and failed sub' attempts later, the ref gets them up with 70 seconds left. Evloev gets a spectacular single leg TD, as Dawodu pulls guard again. Evloev moves into half guard and punches Dawodu as the round ends. 20-18 Evloev.</p><p>

Round 3: Mean Hakeem is in trouble, as he's pulling guard again, seconds in round 3. Evloev tries to hit multiple elbows but does little damage. Evloev gets to half guard, but Dawodu proves really good at stopping Evloev from passing past half guard. 2 minutes left, and a scramble sees them both up, with Evloev controlling Dawodu's back. Evloev drags him back down, holding him turled up. Dawodu manages to get up again, but Evloev still clings on to his back, and simply takes him down again, more violently this time. He tries to get an RNC in, but the round is over. 30-27 Evloev.</p><p>

Round 4: Movsar decides to be more pacient this time, and they spent the 1st minute trading leather. They're both getting a bit tired. Evloev lands more in the striking exchanges, and as Hakeem hits a body kick Evloev shoots for the takedown. Dawodu's pulling guard. Evloev's again stuck in Dawodu's half guard. A scramble sees Evloev back into guard. Evloev spends the rest of the round in guard and half guard, doing 0 efforts to deal damage. Still, 40-36 Evloev. If it wasn't obvious, Dawodu needs a finish.</p><p>

Round 5: Dawodu's looking fired up as he goes for some nice combos, but only hits the jabs. Finally, he hits a cross and Evloev is starting to look more tired. Evloev clinches with Dawodu and pins him against the cage. As he was about to succeed with a double leg TD, Dawodu grabs the cage to stay up and gets a verbal warning. Evloev decides to be evil and starts torturing Hakeem with vicious short strikes to the thigh, ear and face. He does so for mintues, and Herb Dean separates them with 85 seconds left. Evloev eats a jab but clinches again, getting Dawodu back against the cage. Again, his double leg TD attempt is stopped thanks to a cage grab, but the ref didn't see it this time! They dirty box until the end of the round and the winner is obvious. 50-45 Evloev.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOOON: MOVSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR EVLOEEEEEEEEV (UD: 50-45 x 3). Rating: Great.</p><p> </p><p>

Movsar scored: 7/9 TDs (with the 2 that he failed having been defended via cage-grab); 38 ground strikes while receiving 0; 14/15 ground passes. Sambo, baby.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-fight: Movsar calls this victory his greatest achievment in MMA, and he's looking forward to comeback and perform in the UBL.</p><p>

Title prestige up form 58 to 63. Evloev moved up in the wolrd FW rankings from #22 to #10, while Hakeem moved up from #21 to #19.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>6. Now, it is time for the MAAAAAAAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING! For the INAUGURAL UBL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP!</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

SERGEY 'THE POLAR BEAR' SPIVAK (12-2, -230) v. SERGEY PAVLOVICH (15-1, +180)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: They miss a ton of strikes in the first minute. Pavlovich hits a low kick but gets hit with a jab-straight combo. They both land hooks. Spivak hits a cross but eats a big straight. Pavlovich has a small gash under the eye. Spivak poked Pavlovich by mistake! The fight restarts and Pavlovich hits a big head kick! But Spivak proves tough. But another head kick lands for Pavlovich and Spivak's now groggy! But he dodges a big right, and he's back in it! They check each other's strike for a while, and Pavlovich has to step into the pocket to unleash a strong straight right! They land some jabs and the round is over. Nice action, 10-9 Pavlovich.</p><p>

Round 2: Spivak misses with a wild right and and gets countered with A HUGE HOOK! HE'S DOWN! Pavlovich pounds away but can't finish it! A scramble starts as he ries to mount, and Pavlovich now has Spivak up against the cage. They hit a few shots on each other and Spivak escapes. Pavlovich hits a jab-hook combo. They clinch, and SPivak hits a few short strikes before TAKING PAVLOVICH DOWN WITH A SUPLEX! He's in side control! Spivak fails with a few sub' attempts and starts striking when the round enters the last 10 seconds. 20-18 Pavlovich but it's competitive. Both are getting really tired, tho.</p><p>

Round 3: They trade jabs carefully. Sergey hits a hook and finally they clinch up. Spivak gets another belly to belly suplex, and Pavlovich pulls guard. A scramble sees Spivak holding Pavlovich against the cage. Spivak is hitting good shots and Pavlovich is looking exhausted. Pavlovich escapes with 1 minute left. They trade hands and Spivak hits a good kick to the ribs. Spivak's round, 29-28.</p><p>

Round 4: Spivak takes a leg kick before clinching up again and nailing another suplex. Pavlovich pulls guard. After many minutes of boring top control, a scramble sees Spivak being the one pulling guard, with 85 seconds left. Pavlovich gets to side control with ease, and hits some shots before the round ends. 39-37 Pavlovich.</p><p>

Round 5: Pavlovich gets in a few good punches. Spivak hits a good cross, re-opening Pavlovich's wound. They clinch again, and finally Pavlovich manages to not get suplexed. They break the grapple after minutes of Pavlovich trying and failing to take Spivak down. Pavlovich hits a good jab-hook combo, and then he gets Spivak down with a wonderful uppercut! Pavlovich pounds again, but is no where near finishing Spivak off. Yet he stays in control and hits small shots until the round is over, surely earning himself the victory. I have it 49-46 Pavlovich.</p><p> </p><p>

And now, about the next card:

UBL: Crowning Season 2

Somewhere In East Europe

12 February 2021

Prelims:

LHW: Reinier de Ridder v. Rafael Carvalho

LHW: #5 Devin Clark v. #6 Ed Herman

LW: #5 Drakkar Klose v. #6 Scott Holtzman

LHW: Maxim Grishin v. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

LW: Borys Mankowski v. Islam Mamedov

LW: Myles Jury v. Steven Ray

Main card predictions:

1. The Inaugural Light Heavyweight Title, semi-final: #2 Ovince SAINT PREUX (25-15, +100) vs. #4 Mauricio RUA (27-12-1, -110)

UFC veteran and former UFC title challenger OSP is coming off a loss, after a long 13-10 stint with the company. Although 37, he's been working hard to improve as of late, as he likely knows his time at the top might be coming to an end soon. He's a powerful boxer with good counter striking and high level conditioning. He's also quite capable on the ground, as he's famous for his Von Flue Choke. Rua is coming off a violent loss to Paul Craig, where he tapped to strikes. He's a legend of the game, having gone 12-1 in Pride and winning a MW GP in the process, and he's a UFC Veteran, being an ex-LHW champion and 11-10-1. He's a violent fighter, combining muay-thai and BJJ. Right now, he's at his best when on the ground, but he loves to keep his fights standing to use his quality boxing. This is bound to be a close fight that takes will have striking exchanges, wrestling on the feet and a submission war on the ground.

Prediction: Saint Preux by 3rd round KO.

2. The Inaugural Light Heavyweight Title, semi-final: #1 Ryan SPANN (18-6, -180) vs. #3 Ion CUTELABA (15-6-1, +140)

Spann is 4-1 in the UFC, coming off a loss in a bar-fight against bar-fighter Johnny Walker. He's a very well rounded fighter, with his best qualities being his resilience, his fight IQ and his GNP. His kicks and the fact that he's pretty easy to hit and doesn't have the best chin are his only weaknesses, and they seem to be the exact weaknesses a fighter like Cutelaba would like to expose. Cutelaba is coming 2 KO losses to Ankalaev, after going 4-5 in the UFC. He's a tough brawler with wild hands and good sambo wrestling techniques. This will likely be a wild fight.

Prediction: Cutelaba by 2nd round KO.

3. The Inaugural Lightweight Title, semi-final: #2 Arman TSARUKYAN (15-2, -110) vs. #3 Rafael FIZIEV (9-1, -130)

Tsarukyan is coming off 2 UD wins in the UFC. He has 5 KO wins, 5 sub' wins and 5 decision wins, but he's mostly a tough wrestler that likes to bully his opponents on the feet. He's only 24, so there's plenty of time for him to develop in other aspects of MMA. Fiziev is on a 3 fight winning streak after going 3-1 in the UFC, coming off a highlight reel KO against Renato 'Moicano' Carneiro. He's a great striker, with world class muay thai and excelent technical striking, and he seems to have KO power aswell. He's very hard to take down and has a good clinch game on the feet, so he'll likely go through Tsarukyan.

Prediction: Fiziev by 2nd round KO.

4. The Inaugural Lightweight Title, semi-final: #4 Bobby GREEN (27-11-1, +190) vs. #1 Gregor GILLESPIE (13-1, -250)

Bobby Green is a UFC veteran with wins over Josh Thomson and Clay Guida. He's coming off a loss, after going 8-6-1 in the UFC. His a tough veteran that isn't looking to slow down anytime soon, as he's a well rounded competitor whose biggest assets are his conditioning & toughness, his fight IQ and his ground striking. 'The Gift' Gillespie is finally returning after his first defeat, to Kevin Lee, back in 2019. He's coming off a 6-1 stint with the UFC. He's a wrestler who loves to take his opponents down and look for the arm triangle. His takedown defence is world class, and he also has a touch chin and a half-good boxing game. I think Gillespie's wrestling will be too much for Green, but it might go either way.

Prediction: Gillespie by decision.

UBL: CROWNING SEASON 2

Somewhere in East Europe

12 February 2021

Prelims:

LHW: Reinier de Ridder defeats Rafael Carvalho by TKO (Strikes) @3:37, round 1.

LHW: #5 Devin Clark defeats #6 Ed Herman by UD (30-28, 29-28 x2). Clark calls out Ryan Spann, who fights Cutelaba in the tournament semi-finals later.

LW: #5 Drakkar Klose defeats Scott Holtzmann by KO (Elbow) @1:38, round 3.

LHW: Maxim Grishin defeats Antonio Rogerio Nogueira by TKO (Strikes) @4:29, round 2.

LW: Borys Mankowski defeats Islam Mamedov by UD (29-28 x 3).

LW: Steven Ray defeats Myles Jury by KO (Punch) @2:18, round 3.

Main card:

1. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament, semi-final: #2 Ovince ST. PREUX (25-15, +100) vs. #4 Mauricio RUA (27-12-1, -110)

Round 1: St. Preux is pressuring early on, but both men hit a good amount of punches. Soon Rua starts nailing low kicks and crosses, while OSP hits nice straights and body kicks. Minutes go by as this feels like a very even & technical kickboxing bout. The round ends and Rua's higher output is likely enough to secure him the round. 10-9 Rua.

Round 2: The round looks similar, with OSP landing more early on. OSP seems to start getting tired, but Shogun seems to land nothing but jabs this round, while taking some hard shots from OSP. A good jab-straight combo from OSP rocks Shogun, AND A BIG LEFT SENDS SHOGUN DOWN ON HIS ASS! OSP's LANDING BIG SHOTS AND THE REF SEPARATES THEM!

Winner: Saint Preux (via poundin' TKO @3:47, round 2). Rating: Good.

Ryan Spann fell in the world LHW rankings, from #19 to #24.

OSP took a few big shots in the 1st round, and got a little tired, it will be interesting to see how it will affect him.

2. Light Heavyweight Title Tournament, semi-final: #1 Ryan SPANN (18-6, -180) vs. #3 Ion CUTELABA (15-6-1, +140)

Cutelaba seems to have a decent weight advantage.

Round 1: Cutelaba pressures Spann and starts out with a powerful combo that lands. He counters a jab with a jab-jab-cross combo. They trade jabs and the occasional big shot, and as we approach the half of the round, CUTELABA HITS A HOOK THAT STUNS SPANN! SPANN'S DOWN! Cutelaba's throwing big fists and Mazzagatti's seen enough!

Winner: Cutelaba (via SMESH TKO @2:50, round 1). Rating: Great.

Cutelaba only took 3 hits and almost didn't break a sweat, so he'll surely have the advantage going into the final.

3. Lightweight Title Tournament, semi-final: #2 Arman TSARUKYAN (15-2, -110) vs. #4 Rafael FIZIEV (9-1, -130)

Round 1: No feeling out process, as Fiziev lands a head kick straight away. Tsarukyan tries to hit Fiziev, but Fiziev's reach keeps him out of range. Still, Tsarukyan hits the occasional jab while Fiziev waits paciently and hits crosses and leg kicks. Tsarukyan is defending a lot of strikes from Fiziev in the 3rd minute of the round. Fiziev hits a big jab-straight combo and switches to southpaw. Both fighters begin to slow down, and almost nothing lands in the last 2 minutes, as they shut each other down well. 10-9 Fiziev for dominating in the first half of the round.

Round 2: Starting out smart again, Fiziev feints and hits Tsarukyan with 2 jabs and a right head kick! TSARUKYAN'S HURT! A BIG RIGHT LANDS BEHIND THE EAR AND TSARUKYAN'S DOWN! Fiziev tries finishing with hammer fists but it isn't working. He switches to elbows, but Tsarukyan ain't getting TKOed like that right now. Fiziev spends almost the whole round in side control, hitting elbows and punches, until the ref gets them up with 20 seconds left. Tsarukyan gets a clinch and its round over. 20-18 Fiziev. Might even have been a 10-8 round for Fiziev.

Round 3: Fiziev hits a low kick and a body kick, and finally he seems to start getting tired. He hits a great jab-jab-cross combo. FIZIEV NAILS TSARUKYAN WITH ANOTHER HEAD KICK! But Tsarukyan dodges the next punch, and he's composed again. Fiziev hits a jab, but Tsarukyan catches his leg off a body kick! But Fiziev escapes and gets nailing beautiful shots again. He lands jabs and straights, and Tsarukyan dodges a head kick. But Fiziev hits a big hook and it's finally over, Tsarukyan is out cold.

Winner: Fiziev (via ruthless hook KO @3:06, round 3). Rating: Good.

4. Lightweight Title Tournament, semi-final: #1 Bobby GREEN (27-11-1, +190) vs. #3 Gregor GILLESPIE (13-1, -250)

Round 1: Gillespie shoots ASAP and gets the single leg takedown. He hits a few small shots, and a minute later, a scramble sees Green on top, in half guard. Gillespie gets the full guard and Green is content to pepper short strikes, and that's what happens for the rest of the round. I love a good takedown, but since Green did most of the damage for this round, it's 10-9 Green for now.

Round 2: Gillespie wanted to get close and personal again, but Green kept him at bay with a good straight. A second attempt from Gillespie sees him get hit with a jab-cross combo. But finally Gillespie shoots full speed and gets the single leg takedown. Gillespie hits a few shots, and as Green scrambles up, he gats wrestled against the cage instantly. Gillespie dominates Green with dirty boxing for a whole minute, and then Green escapes. Green hits Gillespie with some strong combos. Gillespie shoots again, and he gets the takedown. A scramble sees Gillespie move in half guard. He hits small shots until the round is over. 19-19, as Gillespie was more effective fighter in this round.

Round 3: Green manages to hit a jab before getting taken down again. From guard, a scramble starts and ends up with Gillespie up, holding Green against the cage. Underhooks in, and Gillespie gets Green down, seated against the cage. Gillespie throws small shots and after struggling for a few minutes, he secures side control. Gillespie fails with an armbar attempt, and a scramble sees him stuck in Green's guard, with seconds left. He smothers him as the clock runs down. 29-28 Gillespie.

Winner: Gillespie (Unanimous Decision - 30-27 x 2, 29-28). Rating: Great.

Bobby Green went down in the world LW rankings, from #23 to #25.

Gillespie took a big strike, but still looked quite energetic by the end. The finalists of the LW tournament will enter the final pretty even.

5. And now, IT IS TIME TO CROWN THE INAUGURAL ULTIMATE B LEAGUE LIIIIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION!

'O-S-P' Ovince SAINT PREUX (26-15, -110) vs. Ion 'THE HULK' CUTELABA (16-6-1, -110)

Round 1: Cutelaba hits a cross, St. Preux waits and surprises him with a roundhouse body kick. Jab-jab-straight combo lands for Cutelaba. Cutelaba decides to go for counter-punching and connects with a good straight. They both land 1-2s. OSP starts looking tired and he eats a left hook. He pushes himself to nail a 3-jab and hook combo. OSP misses some jabs but nails a wonderful straight! Cutelaba answers with some similar combos of his own. OSP misses some big shots and gets hit back both times. Last minute and OSP hits a clean left after a big miss from Cutelaba. They trade 1-2s and that's it for round 1. Close bout, but I give Cutelaba the 10-9 for his superior output.

Round 2: Jab-hook combo lands for Cutelaba. He hits some more strikes and then shows off some effective head movement. Another jab-hook combo lands for Cutelaba and this early round's going his way. More tired, OSP throws a big cross that misses, and Cutelaba strikes back with a good jab-cross combo. Cutelaba starts to look a bit tired himself. Cutelaba scores 2 crosses and a hook until OSP finally hits a hard cross of his own. OSP's looking more and more tired, and Cutelaba punches him to the body. As we reach the last 35 seconds, OSP ROCKS CUTELABA WITH A CLEAN LEFT! But Cutelaba blocks the following head kick and he's still in it. They trade two big hands and that's it. 20-18 Cutelaba, he might have got hurt at the end but he dominated every minute except the last one.

Round 3: Cutelaba is again waiting to throw counterstrikes, and it's effective. Cutelaba's looking confident, but he gets stinged with a kick to the ribs. He hits a big straight and a bunch of jabs, but OSP comes in with another big cross, AND CUTELABA'S LOOKING SHOOK! But OSP's big hand misses, and Cutelaba's composed again, while OSP seems exhausted. Did he put all that he had left in those last shots? They trade small jabs. Cutelaba hits a jab-straight combo, while OSP comes in with the jab and the low kick. OSP seems to have been rocked by that straight! BIG RIGHT FOLLOWS AND OSP GOES DOWN! BIG SHOTS ARE LANDING FROM CUTELABA AND IT IS ALL OVER (no, not just like that)! OSP WAS OUT COLD BY THE TIME THE REF JUMPED IN!

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOOOOOOOON: Ion 'THE HUKL' CUTELABAAAAAAAAAAAA (via mauling KO @3:33, round 3). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: "I can fight again tonight, if you want me to. There's no place I'd rather be in other than this cage. I can't waight for the next fight, Hulk's never losing again."

Title prestige went from 58 to 62. Cutelaba went up in the world LHW rankings, from #23 to #4. OSP remained at #22.

6. And now, OUR MAIN EVENT, FOR THE INAUGURAL LIGHTWEIGHT UBL TITLEEEEEEEE:

Rafael 'ATAMAN' FIZIEV (10-1, -110) vs. Gregor 'THE GIFT' GILLESPIE (14-1, -130)

Round 1: Fiziev is pressuring Gillespie to not allow space for him to shot. He lands a few jabs, but sadly it's obvious that he's more tired than the wrestler Gillespie. Fiziev hits a couple of hooks, but then Gillespie shoots and ends up in Fiziev's guard. But Fiziev scrambles well and ends up on his feet, pushing Gillespie on the cagewall. Gillespie escapes with ease, tho. Fiziev connects with a head kick. But Gillespie's a beast, shakes it off, shoots and Fiziev's now pulling guard. Gillespie advances to half guard, and starts pounding. With seconds left, Fiziev scrambles his way into the half guard of Gillespie and pounds on him as the round ends. Hard to call a winner for this round, but I say it's 10-9 for Gillespie.

Round 2: Gillespie catches Fiziev's leg off a kick attempt, and gets the takedown. A short scramble sees Gillespie advance to half guard, and then another helps him secure side control. He hits a few shots, fails with a crucifix attempt, and as he tries to mount, he ends up getting Fiziev's back. Time's passing, and Gillespie starts hitting some big shots to Fiziev. GILLESPIE'S CLOSE TO FINISHING THE FIGHT WITH THOSE STRIKES, BUT FIZIEV GETS SAVED BY THE BELL! I say it's 20-18 for Gregor, but it might have been a 10-8 round.

Round 3: Gillespie shoots and he's in Fiziev's guard again. After a while, he works his way in side control, and Fiziev is looking gassed by this point. A scramble sees Gillespie back in half guard. He hits a bunch of small strikes and advances back into side control with 1 minute left. Gillespie tries to finish the fight with elbows, but that ain't it chief. Round over. 30-27 Gillespie.

Round 4: Gillespie shoots again, but Fiziev stays on his feet this time. Still, Fiziev ends up stuck against the cage. Gillespie hits a stomp and a knee before Fiziev escapes. Only now is Gillespie starting to get tired. Fiziev goes southpaw and hits a cross as Gillespie was trying to move in. Still, Gillespie takes him down and ends up in guard. He throws some hands and moves in half guard, where he starts hitting him again. He moves to side control, then. Again, the round ends with Gillespie hitting elbows from side control. 40-36 Gillespie.

Round 5: More of the same............ 50-45 Gillespie.

Winner, AND THE FIRST UBL LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOON: Gregor 'THE GIFT' GILLESPIE (via UD: 50-45 x 3). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: "One-night-tournaments are challenging both physically and mentally, but I was sure there's no way I'm not coming out on top. I work too hard and fight too smart to be second best, and I'll prove that with each and every opportunity that I will get. Have a great night Europe!"

Title prestige went from 58 to 63. Gillespie went up in the world rankings, from #16 to #9. Fiziev went up from #21 to #18.

MW: Kiamrian Abbasov v. Sharaf Davlatmurodov

WW: Shavkat Rakhmonov v. Christian Lee

MW: #5 Karl Roberson v. #6 Eryk Anders

WW: #7 Michael Page v. #8 Lyman Good

WW: #5 Jake Matthews v. #6 Mike Perry

Main card preview:

1. Middlweight Tournament Semi Final: #2 Zak CUMMINGS (24-7, -530) vs. #4 Andrew SANCHEZ (12-5, +420)

Cummings is a wrestler coming off a win over Alessio Di Chirico. He has an impressive UFC record of 11-4. He likes to dictate the pace of his fights, comming forward with clinches or technical kickboxing (although he als has some power in his low kicks). If he has to, he'll look to take his opponents down, where he often wins with chokes or arm submissions. Andrew Sanchez is coming off a 1st round KO win, after going 5-3 in the UFC. He also came into MMA as a wrestler, but his punches went on to become his favourite weapon of choice, as he can hit hard both on the feet and on the ground. Expect this fight to not get on the ground unless knockdowns happen, and expect knockdowns to happen. I believe it will be a close, good one, tho.

Prediction: Sanchez by 1st round KO.

2. Middlweight Tournament Semi Final: #1 Brad TAVARES (17-6, -480) vs. #3 Gerald MEERSCHAERT (31-14, +380)

Tavares is coming off loses to (now derailed) hypetrain Shabazyand and UFC champ Izzy Adesanya. He's a 12-6 UFC veteran with wins over guys like Phil Baroni, Lorenz Larkin and Elias Theodorou. He's been working hard to improve as of late. He loves to strike, and although he lacks power in his legs, his hands can end a fight. He has a good wrestling clinch, can scramble his way up when taken down and he's hard to finish via strikes. GM3 is coming off a nasty loss to Dana White's new best friend Khamzat Chimaev. He's coming off a 6-6 run in the UFC. He's mainly a BJJ fighter who can finish fights both from top control and off his back. All his UFC wins came via submission. I see Tavares dominating.

Prediction: Tavares by 1st round KO.

3. Welterweight Tournament Semi Final: #3 Jingliang LI (17-6, -700) vs. #4 Elizeu Zaleski DOS SANTOS (22-7, +550)

Li is coming off a UD loss to Neil Magny. He already TKOed Dos Santos in the 3rd in 2019, but the draw was randomized, so what can we do? Li was 9-4 in the UFC, with 6 KO/TKO wins. He's a solid wrestler with good boxing skills that he keeps developing. He can also pose a threat with submissions on the ground, although his last submission win came in 2013. Dos Santos is coming off a split decision loss in the UFC, taking his UFC record to 8-3. He's a striker with strong hands and lots of heart. Might not be the most complete set of skills, but 8-3 in the UFC is not bad, so looks like it can work. Li's likely winning again, tho.

Prediction: Li by 3rd round KO.

4. Welterweight Tournament Semi Final: #1 Robbie LAWLER (28-15-1, +150) vs. #2 Niko PRICE (14-4-2, -200)

Ruthless Robbie Lawler is an absolute legend. Ex-UFC welterweight champion with 2 succesfull defenses, 2 fights of the year, arguably the best fight ever with Rory MacDonald, 13-9 in the UFc, 1-0 in Pride, 2-0 in EliteXC, 3-5 in Strikeforce, Ws over Manhoef, Koshcheck, MacDonald (x2), Hendricks, Condit, Cerrone. He's a warrior with power and techinqe in his striking, and he's going guns blazing every time. Niko Price got suspended in the UFC for smoking weed. Thank God we're in East Europe, where such suspansions are ignored. He was 6-4-2 in the UFC. He loves to strike, but he's quite a complete fighter, with his main assets being his sub' defence, his heart and his conditioning. He'll likely be looking for a brawl, will he be able to win in a brawl with one of the godfathers of MMA brawling?

Prediction: Lawler by 2nd round KO.

5. Middleweight Title Final

6. Welterweight Title Final

Middleweight Title: Cummings / Sanches / Tavares / Meershaert

Round 1: Tavares is pressuring, hitting good combos, but getting touched by GM3's counter jabs. Tavares is hitting good hooks and body kicks. Tavares tries to throw a big knee to the head, but GM3 dodges and he's back in the center of the cage. Round 1: Li dodges a fancy combo from Dos Santos and gets a TD. Li hits a few punches and elbows, and a scramble sees him on top in north-south position. After failing with a N-S choke attempt, Li settles for side control. He goes for the kimura, AND HE GETS IT, THERE'S THE TAP!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Li (kimura submission @2:44, round 1). Rating. Great.</p><p> </p><p>

Li took 0 damage and ended the fight quite early, just like Cummings did earlier.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>4. Welterweight Title Tournament, semi-finals: #1 Robbie LAWLER (28-15-1, +150) vs. #2 Niko PRICE (14-4-2, -200)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: They both come in with the guns blazing, with Price slightly outstriking and hitting some body shots. Price starts settling for counterstriking Lawler, and works him well with jabs and low kicks. It's pretty much how the whole round goes, with Price also hitting the occasional hook or cross to mix things up. 10-9 Price.</p><p>

Round 2: Both men throw and dodge big shots, with nothing landing clean but the fans being entertained. Price manages to touch Lawler with a head kick. He also hits a spectacular body kick, and Lawler's starting to slow down a bit. More of the same for a while, as Price dodges most shots and counters with jabs and body kicks. Lawler hits a strong hook, while Price keeps hitting those ribs. Price starts to slown down a bit as well. Again, Price manages to hit a high kick. They trade a few shots and it's round over. 20-18 Price, altho Robbie clipped him nice with that hook.</p><p>

Round 3: Price hits a hook, LAWLER NAILS A CROSS AND PRICE IS GROGGY! But Lawler misses with the following big hand. Price sneaks in another weak head kick, and they get clinching. Lawler is getting hit with some nice short strikes, and then Price moves him across the cage, getting him stuck against the fence. Price geths a thai clinch. He hits a knee to the chest, but Lawler then escapes. Both fighters seem a bit tired. Lawler hits a good hook and they clinch again. Lawler grabs the cage to avoid getting taken down! He gets warned by the ref. Price spends the last minute beating on Lawler with his dirty boxing. 30-27 Price, Lawler might have got in 2 good shots but those were his only, while Price dominated the rest of the round.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Price (Unanimous decision - 30-27, 29-28 x 2). Rating: Average.</p><p>

Robbie Lawler fell in the world WW rankings, from #17 to #19.</p><p> </p><p>

Price took some big shots and got quite tired by the end of it, he's in for a hard final.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>5. And now, the final, FOR THE ULTIMATE B LEAGUE MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIIIIIIIIIIP!</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Zak CUMMINGS (25-7, -280) vs. Brad TAVARES (18-6, +220)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Tavares hits a jab-leg kick combo, while Cummings blitzes him with a 5 combo. Tavares got cut under the eye. Cummings hits the body hook, but eats a good straight. Cumming shows off good boxing, hitting 2 jabs and a hook, but gets touched with a cross. Tavares hits another cross as Cummings misses a high kick. Cummings off target with another high kick. Jab-jab-cross lands for Tavares, but now he's tired and falls into a clich. Cummings pushes him against the cage. They battle with short strikes for a minute, with Cummings dominating, and the ref stops it to check the cut on Tavares. The fight gets restarted with 100 seconds left, in the center. Jab-low kick combo lands for Cummings. Tavares look pretty tired and Cummings scores a takedown. Round over, 10-9 Tavares, as he caught Cummings with some big shots, despite the lower volume.</p><p>

Round 2: Cummings shoots for the TD, but settles with getting Tavares against the cage. There, he manages to get Tavares down, holding him turtled up. Cummings gets pounding, hitting some big shots! Tavares crawls his way to his feet, but Cummings is still on his back. After some struggle, Tavares escapes Cummings. Cummings starts to breath a bit harder, but he's ahead of Tavares, cardio wise. Cummings seems to want to let Tavares tire himself even more, as he lets Tavares hit some jabs and a straight. With Tavares close to exhaustion, Cummings initiates a clinch, but can't do much with it, and it's round over. 19-19, clearly Zak's round.</p><p>

Round 3: Cummings shoots and gets Tavares down. Cummings smothers him for minutes, and the ref gets them up with 2 minutes left. They trade hands and now Cummings is starting to look tired as well. Cummings hits a straight and they get clinching. They break the grapple after unsuccessful TD attempts from Cummings, and Cummings hits a jab-cross combo before the bell. 29-28 Cummings, but now that he's getting tired as well, except things to stay competitive.</p><p>

Round 4: Cummings hits a nice straight, reopening the cut of Tavares. Again, they clinch but break it apart without dealing any damage. They throw some weak hands before clinching again. Again, they break it as Cummings TD attempts fail, and the ref stops it to check the cut of Tavares. Back in action, CUMMINGS HITS A HUGE HOOK TO THE JAW, and Tavares is down! Cummings throws big hands, but Tavares survives the onslaught. Both fighters are tired, and the round ends with Cummings hitting Tavares from side control. 39-36 Cummings in my book, as Tavares did nothing but defend takedowns and get smashed this round.</p><p>

Round 5: Cummings takes a jab and hits a 1-2, and then starts a clinch. They spend more time clinched this time, as both fighters try to take each other down. Still, no one wins and they end up breaking the grip. They miss each other with ambitious kicks. Cummings hits another 1-2 and takes another jab, and again they clinch. Tavares manages to get the takedown on Cummings! He hits some shots, and then Cummings almost manages to sweep! Cummings is now on top in NS position. He spents the rest of the round in this position, elbowing at the ribs of Tavares. 49-45 Cummings on my cards.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner, and THE INAUGURAL UBL MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOON: ZAAAK CUUUMMINGS! (Unanimous Decision: 50-45, 49-46 x 2). Rating: Great.</p><p> </p><p>

Post fight: Cummings seems happier than ever. He says he expects this win and this company to springboard him to new hights in his career, and he'll gladly fight here until the time comes for his retirement. Pretty heartfelt words.</p><p>

Title prestige up from 58 to 62. Cummings broke in the world MW rankings, at #15, while Brad Tavares stood still at #19.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>6. And now, it is time FOR THE MAAAIN EVEEENT OF THE EVENING! For the INAUGURAL ULTIMATE B LEAGUE WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIIIIIP OF THE WOOOOOOORLD!</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Jingliang "THE LEEECH" LI (18-6, -110) vs. Niko "THE HYBRID" PRICE (15-4-2, -140)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: They defend well early, and Price is the first one to connect, with a low kick. Price's breathing hard already. He hits a body kick but eats a big hook. Tired, Price starts a clinch, but Li gets him down and sits straight into side control! He hits Price with elbows and punches for minutes, until the round ends. Clear 10-9 round for Li.</p><p>

Round 2: Price sneaks in a few jabs, but Li manages to hit him wit a jab and a head kick. Exhausted, Price clinches again, and this time he gets caught against the cage by Li. Li hits a few strikes before Price can escape. Li eats a straight, but hits a good jab-hook combo, and Price looks as gassed as it gets. Still, Price counters Li with a cross. And another one! Noticing Price can still stand and bang, Li clinches up and gets him against the cage. He stomps and knees him, but Price escapes again. Li finally looks like is slowing down a bit, and he misses a cross and gets struck with a straight right. Round over, and it's 20-18 as Li still outstruck and controlled the round.</p><p>

Round 3: Finally, Li hits Price with a clean right hand. Price hits another fine body kick, but gets touched by a mean hook from Li. They clinch and Li controlls Price against the cage wall. Li hits a few shots before Price escapes again. Good hook lands for Li, but Price hits a jab-ribkick combo. They clinch again, and Li hits a few short strikes. Li's getting tired again, and now he can't even wrestle Price against the cage anymore! INSIDE TRIP FROM PRICE AND HE GETS THE TAKEDOWN! Li pulls guard! Price gets in some shots before the end of the round, and he might have won this round! I score it for Li, tho, 30-27.</p><p>

Round 4: The two tired fighters clinch, and Li gets Price against the cage. Li hits two knees before Price can escape. Li hits Price with a sharp 1-2. Spin kick to the body lands for Price. Price misses some shots and gets hit with another 1-2. They do a lot of nothing for the rest of the round, and it's another round for Li. Price surely needs the finish in the 5th. 40-36 Li.</p><p>

Round 5: Price hits the 1-2. They clinch, and Li grabs the cage to avoid getting taken down! Verbal warning from ref Rosenthal. Li then escapes from the corner without taking damage. They trade low kicks. They fight for control in a clinch for about 1 minute, but let go of it as we reach the last 2 minutes and a half. Li hits a few counter jabs as Price pressures and misses his shots. Price lands a hook, but Li answers with a stronger one. They tread some more water and that's it. 50-45 Li on my scorecard. </p><p> </p><p>

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOOOOOON: JINGLIAAANG 'THE LEEEEECH' LIIII (Unanimous Decision: 50-45, 49-46 x 2). Rating: Decent.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-fight: Li shakes and raises the hand of his opponent, with his belt around his waist. He's ready for anything this new promotion has to throw at him, and he's honoured to be the king of this division. What a nice guy!</p><p>

Title prestige up from 58 to 63. Li went up in the world WW rankings, from #19 to #6, while Price stood still at #18.</p><p> </p><p>

Wow! Lawler didn't win, I think it's time to stop hehehe, but, Cummings champion was also a big surprise.

Well, Robbie still was competitive against a tough, scrappy contender, didn't get finished and arguably won a round, so I think he can still remain active as a gatekeeper as long as he's not getting KOed.

And Cummings winning surely wasn't the most predictable thing, but I gotta admit that right now, Middleweight might be UBL's worst division, it's the only one where only 1 of the entrants in the tournament was ranked in the top 25, and the only one where the winner of the title didn't enter the world top 10 of the division. Hopefully some stars will break through soon!

And now, time for some fun in the flyweight divisions!

UBL: Crowning Season 4

Somewhere In East Europe

12 March 2021

Prelims:

W FlyW: Mandy Bohm v. Gina Mazany

W FlyW: Alejandra Lara v. Natalia Silva

FlyW: Aren Akopyan v. Tyson Nam

FlyW: JP Buys v. Miguel Angel Torres

FlyW: Blaine O'Driscoll v. Bruno Rodrigues

W FlyW: #5 Denise Kielholtz v. #6 Mariya Agapova

Main card preview:

1. Women's Flyweight Tournament Semi-Final: #1 Montana DE LA ROSA (11-6, -430) vs. #2 Molly MCCANN (10-3, +340)

De la Rosa is coming offa UD loss to Vivi Araujo. She went 4-2 in the UFC, with 3 of her wins coming via submission. She's a good grappler who also has some decent technical boxing on the feet, but will always prefer to roll with her opponents. Her 8 submission wins came via RNC's and armbars. McCann is coming off a UD loss to Taila Santos in her last fight. She left the UFC with a 3-2 record, with all her wins coming via UD. She likes to throw down with her opponents and either outbox them, either get them in the thai clinch where she has some decent strikes. She also has good submission defence, making her a tough opponent for de la Rosa.

Prediction: De La Rosa by decision.

2. Women's Flyweight Tournament Semi-Final: #3 Ariane LIPSKI (13-6, -280) vs. #4 Poliana BOTELHO (8-3, +220)

Lipski is coming off a TKO loss to Antonina Shevchenko, taking her UFC record to 2-3. Before that, she was KSW Women's FlyW champion, going 3-0 in the Polish company. She's She has slick muay thai skills and is also good when it comes to BJJ. She has strong strikes, altho she doesn't posses the cleanest technique on the feet, and she can do real damage with her elbows. Botelho is coming off a UD loss to Gil Robertson, taking her UFC record to 3-2. She has good creative strikes, a tough chin and good elbows in the thai clinch. I believe Lipski's got this, since she's better rounded and has more powerful strikes.

Prediction: Lipski by 3rd round KO.

3. Flyweight Tournament Semi-Final: #1 Kai KARA-FRANCE (21-9-1, +110) vs. #2 Tim ELLIOTT (16-11-1, -140)

Kara-France is coming a spectacular losing effort against Brandon Royval. He-s 4-3 in the UFC, with all but his last fight going to the judges. At 27 years old, with 31 fights on his record, he's a young veteran of the sport. He can land spectacular shots from all kinds of angles, and his conditioning rarely fails him. Sadly for him, he's pretty easy to take down, and his defence on the ground is not really high level. Elliott just broke a 3 fight losing skid with a win over Ryan Benoit. Sadly for Elliott, he never fared well against top opposition, Louis Smokla being pretty much the biggest name he defeated, while he collected Ls agains the likes of DJ, Dodson, Benavidez, Nguyen, Figueiredo, Askarov and Royval, taking his UFC record to 5-9. He's a good wrestler, with a great clinch and top control and strong takedowns. He's tough as well, as despite his many losses, he's only been KO'd in his 3rd pro fight. I believe he'll be able to exploit Kara-France's weak grappling abilities and even get a submission win.

Prediction: Elliott by 2nd round submission.

4. Flyweight Tournament Semi-Final: #3 Magomed BIBLULATOV (17-2, +190) vs. #4 Amir ALBAZI (13-1, -240)

Bibulatov is coming off a 1st round KO win over Rodrigo Praia in the ACA, where he went 3-0 after going 1-2 in the UFC. He's mainly a grappler, but has decent power in both his hands and his kicks, plus a tough chin. So I'd say he's pretty well rounded and a danger for anyone in the division. Albazi is coming off his UFC debut, where he won via 1st round sub' over Malcolm Gordon. He has very good submissions and feels at home on the ground, altho' he still needs to work on his takedowns. He also has a quite tough chin and some good power in his hands.

Prediction: Albazi by decision.

5. Flyweight Crown Final (decided to name the titles for the ladies divisions *weightclass* Crown instead of Women's *weightclass* Title, think it sounds better)

6. Flyweight Title Final

Don't be shy, lads, share your

Main card predictions:

W FlyW: Montana DE LA ROSA vs. Molly MCCANN

W FlyW: Ariane LIPSKI vs. Poliana BOTELHO

FlyW: Kai KARA-FRANCE vs. Tim ELLIOTT

FlyW: Magomed BIBULATOV vs. Amir ALBAZI

Flyweight Crown: de la Rosa / McCann / Lipski / Botelho

Flyweight Ttiel: Kara-France / Elliott / Bibulatov / Albazi

Again, two pretty hard to perdict tournaments, I believe Lipski will win the ladies tournament, and I see Albazi as the favourite for the men tournament.

1. Flyweight Crown, semi-final: #1 Montana DE LA ROSA (11-6, -430) vs. #2 Molly MCCANN (10-3, +340)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: De la Rosa shoots straight out the gate, and McCann pulls guard. McCann manages to scramble up, but is being held against the cage by de la Rosa. Violent trip from de la Rosa, but McCann grabs the cage to stay on her feet! Verbal warning. Again, McCann grabs the cage to defend the trip TD but Goddard doesn't see it this time! De la Rosa hits a hard stomp and trips her again, getting her down this time, and landing straight into side control! McCann defends the arm triangle, so de la Rosa settles for a few small shots. Now she's going for the kimura. It seemed like she had it in, but McCann escaped! Another kimura attempt tho! McCann can't escape this time, she taps and it's over! 1st kimura win for de la Rosa, 9th by submission!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: De la Rosa (Kimura submission @3:40, round 1). Rating: Great.</p><p> </p><p>

De la Rosa took no damage and didn't spend a lot of energy, so she might have a big advantage in the final!</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>2. Flyweight Crown, semi-final: #3 Ariane LIPSKI (13-6, -280) vs. #4 Poliana BOTELHO (8-3, +220)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: The feeling off process sees both ladies land a pair of strikes. Botelho hits a clean straight, a hook to the body, while Lipski hits a jab. A bunch of timid strikes fail to land from both ladies. Low kick from Botelho, right hook from Lipski. Now a pair of strong punches from Botelho land, and Lipski hits a low kick. Botelho eats a hook and hits a jab as the round ends. 10-9 Botelho, as she caught Lipski with some strong strikes.</p><p>

Round 2: They start off more violent this time, but Botelho seems to start getting a bit tired. She gets caught with a 1-2, but hits Lipski with a violent hook! They go strike for strike for the next minute, mostly landing jabs. Finally, Lipski hits two good punches as we enter the last 2 minutes, and Botelho has a cut under the eye! Botelho tries a big hook but gets struck with a stronger one from Lipski, and she's down! Lipski punishes her with huge strikes and Herb Dean stops the fight!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Lipski (hool & pound TKO @3:49, round 2). Rating: Great.</p><p> </p><p>

Lipski took a few big shots, but was still doing great cardio-wise, after almost 9 minutes of striking action.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>3. Flyweight Title, semi-final: #1 Kai KARA-FRANCE (21-9-1, +110) vs. #2 Tim ELLIOTT (16-11-1, -140)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: The feeling out process sees Kara-France touch Elliott with 3 small strikes, without getting touched back. A cross lands from Kara-France, and then he hits a jab and a head kick. Kara-France hits a bunch of 1-2 combos, and Elliott seems to have no answer for his techniques. Finally Elliott hits a hook, but gets struck twice again. Kara-France keeps dominating with small strikes until it's round over. 10-9 for Kara-France.</p><p>

Round 2: Elliott hits a few strikes, but still gets outstruck and seems to start losing his confidence. Kara-France is slowly picking him apart with jabs and kicks to the leg and ribs. Both are breathing a bit harder as we enter the last 90 seconds. Kara-France keeps dominating and pressuring Elliott too hard, seemingly nullifying his wrestling threat. 20-18 Elliott.</p><p>

Round 3: Well, Kara-France seems to look for the finish, and it's not paying off, as Elliott's dodging his big strikes and countering with hooks. Kara-France is getting tired, and they seem more even on the feet, yet Elliott is still not trying to use his wrestling. Elliott lands another good hook, and with 30 seconds left, we see the first clinch of the fight. Elliott pushes Kara-France against the cage and punishes him with short strikes for the last few seconds. 29-28 Kara-France.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Kara-France (Unanimous Decision: 29-28 x 3). Rating: Decent.</p><p>

Tim Elliott fell from #16 to #18 in the world FlyW rankings.</p><p> </p><p>

Kara-France was looking really tired by the end of the fight, he's likely in for a tough final.</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>4. Flyweight Title, semi-final: #3 Magomed BIBLULATOV (17-2, +190) vs. #4 Amir ALBAZI (13-1, -240)</strong></p><p><strong>

</strong></p><p>

Round 1: Bibulatov bobs, weaves and connects with a cross. He tries for a second one but misses and meets a hook from Albazi. They defend each other's strikes perfectly for the next minute, and finally Bibulatov connects with another cross. Jab-body kick combo lands from Bibulatov a minute later. Bibulatov decides to start pressuring and he hits a jab-hook combo and gets touched by a jab. More shots fail to connect and it's round over. 10-9 Bibulatov.</p><p>

Round 2: They trade a bunch of jabs in the first 2 minutes, and Albazi catches Bibulatov's leg off a body kick attempt! But Bibulatov escapes with ease, damn! Again, they keep landing nothing but jabs, and Bibulatov's getting a bit tired as we enter the last minute. A few more jabs land in the last minute, and this is seemingly a striking chess match. 20-18 Bibulatov.</p><p>

Round 3: Well, more jab trading, and around the half point of the round, they hit each other with body kicks. Albazi initiates a clinch, but fails with his trip takedown attept and ends up pressed up against the cage by Bibulatov. There, Bibluatov deals damage with stomps and knees until the round is over. 30-27 Bibulatov.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner: Bibulatov (Unanimous decision: 30-27 x 3). Rating: Decent.</p><p>

Albazi moved down in the world FlyW rankings, from #19 to #20.</p><p> </p><p>

Bibulatov surely has more gas left in the tank than Kara-France, and they both took pretty minimal damage in their fights. Looks like Bibulatov will have the advantage thanks to his superior conditioning.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

<strong>5. And now, FOR THE INAUGURAL U-B-L FLYWEIGHT CROOOOWN:</strong></p><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>

Montana DE LA ROSA (12-6, -630) vs. 'VIOLENCE QUEEN' Ariane LIPSKI (14-6, +500)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Lipksi manages to hit a leg kick, but de la Rosa rushes in with a clinch. Lipksi's now stuck against the cage. They exchange a few short strikes and then de la Rose takes Lipski down with a beautiful outside trip, and takes the back off the takedown! HOOKS IN AND THE REAR NAKED CHOKE IS LOCKED IN! There's the tap, 5th RNC win for our new champion!</p><p> </p><p>

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL FLYWEIGHT CROWN CHAMPION: MONTANAAA DE LA ROSAAA (RNC submission @3:00, round 1). Rating: Good.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-fight: Montana seems in love with her belt, and it's hard to deny it's hard not to fall in love with her as well! Such a champion!</p><p>

Title prestige up from 58 to 64. De la Rosa burst into the women's P4P rankings at #13. She moved up from #18 to #3 in the world FlyW rankings</p><p> </p><p>

<strong>6. And now, our main event, FOR THE INAUGURAL ULTIMATE B-LEAGUE FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIIIIIIIIIIIP!</strong></p><p> </p><p>

<strong>Kai 'DON'T BLINK' KARA-FRANCE (22-9-1, +150) vs. Magomed 'GLADIATOR' BIBULATOV (18-2, -150)</strong></p><p> </p><p>

Round 1: Well, Bibulatov allows Kara-France to hit a leg kick. He hits a leg kick of his own and then pulls him in a clinch, seeing he's still quite tired. He pushes him against the cage. He tortures Kara-France with every kind of shot you could hit from that position, and the ref separates them with 2 minutes left. Kara-France connects with two crosses in the time left, while Bibulatov lands a few jabs. 10-9 Bibulatov.</p><p>

Round 2: Again, they kcik each other at the same time, going to the body this time. Clinch time again and Bibulatov gets Kara-France against the cage again. Looks like a replay of round 1, as again Bibulatov hits all kinds of strikes until Herb Dean separates them with 2 minutes left. Bibulatov is starting to look tired as well, while Kara-France seems totally gassed. Straight right lands for Kara-France, and then they clinch again. Kara-France gets hit with a body knee in the grapple. Bibulatov keeps hitting a bunch of strikes in the grapple, and with seconds left, he gets Kara-France against the cage, where he dirty boxes a bit more. 20-18 Bibulatov, and Kara-France has some ugly bruises on the side of his body, as Bibulatov's clinch-knees and body punches did their job.</p><p>

Round 3: Spinning body kick lands from Kara-France, and Bibulatov lands 2 jabs. Cross lands from Kara-France. Bibulatov hits a good clean right, but it might have damaged his own hand as well! A good left hook lands from Bibulatov, and Kara-France got cut under the eye. Clinch again, and Kara-France is again getting dominated against the cage. Kara-France holds his own well when he can maintain distance, but when Bibulatov gets the clinch, it becomes a one sided beatdown. 30-27 Bibulatov.</p><p>

Round 4: Jab-low kick lands from Bibulatov. Another low-kick from Bibulatov, and Kara-France is having trouble landing shots this round. Bibulatov is dominating the striking exchanges, not taking 1 shot from Kara-France, and as we enter the 10 seconds, he shoots for the takedown! Single leg takedown, and Kara-France pulls guard. 40-36 Bibulatov.</p><p>

Round 5: Kara-France finally connects with a cross after dodging a Bibulatov hook. Clinch again, and Bibulatov dominates Kara-France again, against the cage wall. Except this time, Kara-France is blocking most of the strikes attempted by Bibulatov. The ref separates them around the halfway point of the round. They trade straight hands and Bibulatov gets cut under the eye. They miss a huge amount of strikes, as both fighters are pretty much exhausted right now. Spin kick to the body lands for Kara-France, and that's it. Well, Kara-France might have won this low-output round on the cards of some judges, not on mine, tho. 50-45 Bibulatov.</p><p> </p><p>

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL FLYWEIGHT CHAMPIOOON: MAGOMED 'GLADIATOR' BIBULATOOOV (Unanimous decision: 50-45 x 2, 49-46). Rating: Good. Bibulatov landed 4 times the amount of strikes Kara-France did. Ouch.</p><p> </p><p>

Post-fight: Bibulatov is glad to be a champion on such a big stage. He says he wants to have a fight with Tim Elliott, because he respects him and thinks it would make for a fun challange. Makes little sense but we might let it happen...</p><p>

Title prestige up from 58 to 63. Bibulatov moved up in the world FlyW rankings, from #18 to #7, while Kara-France fell from #10 to #12.</p><p> </p><p>

And now, about the next card (that I accidentally booked for a Monday instead of a Friday :/ )

UBL: Crowning Season 5

Somewhere in Eastern Europe

21 March 2021

Prelims:

W BW: Stephanie Egger v. Ewelina Wozniak

BW: #9 Brad Katona v. #10 Patrick Mix

W BW: #7 Bea Malecki v. #8 Vanessa Melo

BW: #7 Jack Shore v. #8 Kyung Ho Kang

W BW: #5 Lisa Verzosa v. #6 Tonya Evinger

BW: #5 Enrique Barzola v. #6 Andre Ewell

Main card:

1. Bantamweight Title, semi-final: #2 Said NURMAGOMEDOV (15-2, +100) vs. Rani YAHYA (26-10-1-1, -110)

Said is coming off a 1st round TKO win over Mark Striegl, taking his UFC record to 3-1. He's a sambo fighter who likes to wrestle his way into top control and look for submissions. He lacks a quality stand up game, which is why he usually looks to take the fight to the floor. Rani Yahya is a veteran that's coming of a majority draw against Enrique Barzola. He went 11-4-1-1 in his 9-year-long UFC career. He's a very well rounded fighter, with his submission offense from top control being his main threat. He's also great at scrambling his way into good positions and has a tough chin, despite being a veteran. He loves to overwhelm with strikes, likely giving him the edge over Said no matter where the fight goes.

Prediction: Yahya by 3rd round submission.

2. Bantamweight Title, semi-final: #1 Ricky SIMON (16-3, +100) vs. #3 Montel JACKSON (9-2, -110)

Ricky Simon is coming off a close win over Ray Borg. He's 4-2 in the UFC, with UD wins over both Montel Jackson and Rani Yahya. He's a fighter with very good wrestling, with dominant top control who usually comes on top off top control. He also has a good thai control with very strong elbows, good boxing and pretty good submission offensive. Montel Jackson is coming off a UD loss against Brett Johns, taking his UFC record to 3-2. He's not quite a well rounded fighter, he likes to take the fight down and look for submissions. I'm afraid we might see a replay of their first fight, which took place 3 years ago. Well, these things can happen when you randomize the drawing of the brackets.

Prediction: Simon by decision.

3. Bantamweight Crown, semi-final: #2 Sarah MORAS (6-6, +160) vs. #3 Sarah KAUFMAN (21-5-1, -210)

Moras is coming off a UD loss to Sijara Eubanks, ending her UFC run with a 3-5 record. She's mainly a BJJ fighter with good submissions, control from the bottom, sweeps and also a pretty good wrestling clinch. Kaufman is coming off a loss in the PFL. She also had a UFC run, where she went 1-2-1. She's a veteran whose style is mainly built around her high level striking and very good takedown defence. Her kicks are her main weapons, but her boxing is dangerous as well. I see Kaufman doing very well here.

Prediction: Kaufman by 1st round KO.

4. Bantamweight Crown, semi-final: #1 Talita BERNARDO (6-4, +110) vs. #4 Bethe CORREIA (11-5-1, -150)

Talita is coming off a KO loss to Vivi Araujo, taking her UFC record to 1-2. She's an amazing technical boxer, but she lacks power, altho' she does have a pretty strong head kick. She has very good takedowns and a good ground game, and also a pretty good wrestling clinch. Bethe Correia has been having retirement on her mind, but he she is, in the UBL, coming off a UD loss to Pannie Kianzad in her last bout. She went 5-5-1 in the UFC, even challangeing Ronda during Rondamania (and lasting almost 40 seconds!). She's mainly a gritty grappler, with good takedowns and submission from both top and bottom control. On the feet, she has pretty good low kicks. I expect a close fight, and see Talita edging it out.

Prediction: Bernardo by decision.

5. Bantamweight Title final

Well, let's put up with these hellish tournaments one more time, lads, hit me up with your

UBL: Crowning Season 5

Somewhere in Eastern Europe

21 March 2021

Prelims:

W BW: Ewelina Wozniak defeats Stephanie Egger (Unanimous Decision: 30-27, 29-28 x 2).

BW: #9 Brad Katona defeats #10 Patrick Mix (Unanimous Decision: 29-28 x 3).

W BW: #7 Bea Malecki defeats #8 Vanessa Melo (Unanimous Decision: 29-28 x 3).

BW: #8 Kyung Ho Kang defeats #7 Jack Shore (Split Decision: 29-28 x 2, 28-29).

W BW: #5 Lisa Verzosa defeats #6 Tonya Evinger (TKO - strikes @4:09, round 3). The bout was rated Fantastic. Verzosa says she believes Sarah Kaufman's the favourite for tonight's tournament and she wishes to be the first to challange her for the crown.

BW: #6 Andre Ewell defeats #5 Enrique Barzola (TKO - strikes @4:48, round 1).

Main card:

1. Bantamweight Title, semi-final: #2 Said NURMAGOMEDOV (15-2, +100) vs. Rani YAHYA (26-10-1-1, -110)

Round 1: Yahya hits with a pair of straight rights, as Said is circling around the cage. As Said tries to get close, he gets hit with a jab-body kick combo. Another body kick lands from Yahya. Yahya starts to overextend and Said is catching him with some counterstrikes. Yahya hits another fancy body kick. And another one. Yahya's pressuring. Said hits a counterjab, dodges a headkick and secures a takedown just before the round's over. Worth noting Rahya had a guillotine attempt on when the round was over. Interesting round, 10-9 Yahya in my book.

Round 2: Said hits a jab but gets touched with a high kick. He got cut under the eye. Yahya lands his 5th body kick. Yahya hits a jab and a straight, and he's starting to conserve energy. Jab lands for Said, but he takes a jab and a leg kick. Ref pauses to check Said's cut. Back to action. Body shot from Yahya lands, but he takes a jab. Jab-body kick lands again from Yahya. Low kick lends from Yahya. Said starts defending well and he shoots with 35 seconds left, and Yahya's pulling guard. Yahya tries a guillotine but fails, and its round over. 20-18 Yahya.

Round 3: Yahya is starting to look tired. Said hits him with a cross, but Yahya hits a big jab-hook combo. Another jab-body kick combo lands from Yahya, but Said is still looking fresh as a daisy. 2 leg kicks land from Yahya. Said catches him in a clinch, and fights him with close range punches. He pushes him against the cage and manages to take him down, ending up in guard. And Said punches him with small shots until the round is over. 29-28 Yahya on my scorecard.

Winner: Yahya (Unanimous Decision: 30-27 x 2, 29-28). Rating: Great.

High output from Rani and it took a toll on his stamina, he'll be entering the final quite tired.

2. Bantamweight Title, semi-final: #1 Ricky SIMON (16-3, +100) vs. #3 Montel JACKSON (9-2, -110)

Round 1: They trade hands early on, with nothing but jabs landing in the first half of the round. Jackson hits a leg kick, and then he counters Simon with a clean left. Jackson with a jab-body kick combo, and Simon hits a pair of good strikes. Jackson hits another clean left before the rounds over. Close round, but I give it to Jackson, as he applied more pressure and nailed some big shots. 10-9 Jackson.

Round 2: Again, they trade a bunch of jabs until Jackson connects with a good hook. Jackson then hits a jab-cross combo. But Simon manages to hit a massive jab-hook combo of his own. Jackson fights back with a cross, BUT SIMON HITS A VICIOUS CROSS AND JACKSON IS DOWN! Simon's throwing massive shots and the fight is over! He's 2-0 over Jackson!

Winner: Simon (via cross & smash TKO @2:26, round 2). Rating: Fantastic.

Simon took some big shots, but cardio wise he's doing way better than Yahya.

3. Bantamweight Crown, semi-final: #2 Sarah MORAS (6-6, +160) vs. #3 Sarah KAUFMAN (21-5-1, -210)

Round 1: Kaufman wastes no time, she misses a jabs but hits right on target with a head kick, and Moras looks stunned. But Moras defends Kaufman's weak head knee attempt and she circles away. Kaufman hits a few jabs, and then lands A SENSATIONAL HEAD KICK, MORAS IS DOWN! But Kaufman's pounding game is letting her down, as Moras manages to survive. Kaufman hits a bunch f strikes to the body until the end of the round. 10-8 Kaufman.

Round 2: Kaufman statrs off hard again, SMASHING MORAS WITH A STRAIGHT TO THE JAW! Moras falls like a bag of potatoes, she's out cold!

Kaufman took no damage and wasted close to no energy. She surely is the favourite in my book.

4. Bantamweight Crown, semi-final: #1 Talita BERNARDO (6-4, +110) vs. #4 Bethe CORREIA (11-5-1, -150)

Round 1: They trade a few jabs. Talita hits a hook, Correia hits a jab-low kick combo. More jabs and Correia hits another low kick. Talita hits a jab-jab-hook combo. Then another hook, but she eats a jab and a cross from Correia. Correia lets them hands go crazy, hitting 3 jabs and a fine hook. 2 jabs land from Talita, but Correia hits a jab and a headkick. Jabs, and another low kick lands from Correia. She hits another one, but gets hit with a hook by Talita. Round over, and although competitive, Correia surely secured the victory the 10-9 on all 3 scorecards.

Round 2: Another low kick lands from Correia, but Talita hits 5 strikes, throwing punches in bunches. Jab-jab-hook combo from Talita. 4 jabs combo from Correia. Then she hits a jab and a spin kick. Talita hits a pair of good punches, but Correia also hits a jab-cross combo. Talita hits another hook, but is seemingly starting to get tired. Another hook from Talita lands, but she eats another jab-cross combo. They keep it brawly, as Talita hits a big 1-2 and Correia catches her with a head kick. Correia with a good body punch, and it's round over. Another great round, and I'm quite sure all 3 scorecards say 20-18 Bethe Correia.

Round 3: Talita checks a body kick and fires back with a great hook! Then she hits a 3 punch combo, but gets touched with yet another head kick! SHE'S ROCKED! Correia lacks the killer instinct tho, sending a knee to the ribcage. Correia is getting a bit tired as well. Correia hits a left hook, and then a jab-cross combo, but Talita hits a strong straight right. More jabs, and Talita hits a jab-hook combo. Correia hits another head kick, AND TALITA'S BARELY STANDING! CORREIA LANDS A BIG HOOK! TALITA'S TAKING A BEATING SLUMPED AGAINST THE CAGE, AND THE REF STEPS IN! Might have been a late stoppage!

Winner: Correia (via kick, hook and kill TKO @2:47, round 3). Rating: Great.

This was an all stand up war, and Correia took some damage and, more importantly, used up some valuable energy. We'll see how she fares in the final.

5. And now, for THE INAUGURAL ULTIMATE B-LEAGUE BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIIIIP, THE FINAL!

Rani YAHYA (27-10-1-1, -110) vs. Ricky SIMON (17-3, +100)

Round 1: Just like the last time, Yahya's pressuring and looking to hit body kicks. Simon hits a 1-2 and pulls Yahya in the clinch. But Yahya is the one who takes control of it, getting Simon stuck against the cage! Yahya gets Simon in the thai clinch! All Yahya manages to hit is a weak knee tot he chest tho, as Simon escapes. Yahya is looking extremely tired as he initiates a clinch. He wanted another thai clinch, but Simon got the underhooks and tripped him instead, and is now in side control! Simon pounds on Yahya with weak shots in the remaining 90 seconds. Clear 10-9 for Simon.

Round 2: Yahya hits a good jab-hook combo. They both display good defensive skills, only managing to hit each other with jabs for the next 2 minutes. Simon hits a cross. Simon eats a jab and hits another cross. Simon hits a strong right. And as Yahya comes forward with a big right, Simon dodges and hits a massive right uppercut! Yahya's down and looking extremely drained! SIMON'S DESTROYING HIM! And Herb Dean has to end it, THAT'S IT!

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL BANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPIOOOOOOOOOOON: Rickyyyy SIIIMOOON (Uppercut & pound TKO @4:20, round 2). Rating: Good.

Post-fight: Simon is glad to have proven himself in this tournament and says he's looking to cement a great legacy here.

Title prestige went up from 58 to 64. Ricky Simon went up from #23 to #5 in the world BW rankings.

6. And now, it is time FOR OUR MAAAAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING! For the INAUGURAL ULTIMABE B-LEAGUE BANTAMWEIGHT CROOOOWN!

Sarah KAUFMAN (22-5-1, -450) vs. Bethe 'PITBULL' CORREIA (12-5-1, +350)

Dunno why but I'd love to see Correia get the upset.

Round 1: Correia hits 2 jabs, and Kaufman hits a jab and a wonderful straight right. Kaufman tries the head kick again, BUT CORREIA CATCHES THE LEG! She pushes Kaufman against the cage and hits with elbows. Correia then tries an outside trip, but Kaufman defends and gets turns the clinch around, and then backs out. Correia hits her with a hook, but Kaufman hits 3 jabs and a cross. Jab-trade, and Kaufman hits the ribs with a kick. They trade a lot of jabs, and Kaufman hits a leg kick too as the round ends. Interesting round, with Kaufman outstriking Correia. 10-9 Kaufman.

Round 2: Kaufman hits a straight right. Kaufman pressures as Correia's getting tired, and Kaufman hits a right cross. Kaufman is getting a bit tired as well, but still she hits Correia with a big hook. She then connects with a powerful leg kick. Kaufman bullies Correia with jabs, pressure and body shots, and as we enter the last 5 seconds, she almost finishes Correia with a head kick! 20-18 Kaufman.

Round 3: Kaufman hits 2 jabs and a body kick, and finally she's starting to look as tired as Correia. Correia hits a leg kick, BUT KAUFMEN UNLEASHES A HUGE HEAD KICK AND CORREIA IS DOWN! But again, Kaufman's GNP limited capabilities let her down, as Correia defends well and pulls her in half guard, and later in full guard. Still, Kaufman threw a ton of strikes from top control and surely won the round. 30-27 Kaufman.

Round 4: Correia looked like she wanted to shoot, but Kaufman shot like a shotgun, hitting her with a jab and another crazy head kick! A SECOND HEAD KICK HITS THE WOBBLING CORREIA AND IT IS ALL OVER! SHE'S OUT COLD!

Winner, AND THE INAUGURAL UBL BANTAMWEIGHT QUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEN: SARAAAAH KAAAUUUFMAAAN! (KO kick @0:29, round 4). Rating: Good.

Post fight: Well, this is ****ing weird. Kaufman's glad to be the inaugural champion, and she wants a rematch with Sarah Moras???????? Alright....

Title prestige went up from 58 to 63. Kaufman broke in the women's P4P rankings at #16, and went up from #21 to #3 in the BW rankings. Correie fell from #18 to #19.
