KD637 Posted January 14, 2021 Share Posted January 14, 2021 Anyone had any viable newgens spawn in game? Im finding most of them make jobbers look like the Rock so I was wondering. Does the game push good Newgens, and do they actually even exist? Im reluctant in my long save to allow the regens to take place, but i feel like i might be forced into it if the Newgens suck as bad as they seem to. They are mostly "diamonds in the rough" & need some polishing, especially if you want to hire them for a larger company, like a medium-sized one. I am playing a Rock Hard Tasmania save atm, where i have taken on the role of The New Zealand Pit Bull. Creating a New Japan style stable war... after a year the company is still running. Just needed to know if i can viably have a long term save or if by the time i need developmental (10 years perhaps) all the quality is long gone! Derek B Posted January 15, 2021 Share Posted January 15, 2021 In my long term testing with CV97 games I've seen newgens win Wrestler Of The Year, be the most popular in the world and/or have crazy high stats. Due to the changes to skill growth between TEW16 and TEW20 it's more viable than ever to have newgens take over the world. Just takes time and practice for people to grow into their stats. DrRDuke Posted January 15, 2021 Share Posted January 15, 2021 I'm 10 years into my save, and there have been a few newgen wrestlers who I've been able to build up relatively quickly after they spent a few years either in other promotions or in my developmental territory. The developmental guy took about 4 years to get to a point where he looked good to me, and then I brought him up and about a years worth of a strong push (tagged with an established star) got him to 80 pop. Same with someone I signed who debuted in 2021, and by the time I got him in 2027ish he was a solid prospect who I built up fairly quickly (a year?). So they are out there... A muscular light heavyweight with 72 SQ, 78 Puro, and 81 Tech. He is in the 40's for all entertainment skills, but I can work around that. I've tried working with a few, but they tend to need a good bit of seasoning before they're doing anything impressive. The most impressive newgen I've seen so far was a guy named Johnny Imes. He was a young lion for 21CW, and a couple of years after his debut, he was frequently getting ratings in the 80s, and landed in the mid-200s in the Power 500. I will say that the newgens in this game are far better than the ones in WMMA5, in that game the newgens were almost always scrubs or it seemed like that to me. The one thing I hate about newgens in TEW20 is the names they end up with. I understand it is random and everything but the vast majority of them have the most ridiculous names. I had one Asian American who ended up with the name Tyrone Walker...what the hell? If it was a white guy or a black guy I could understand but there are no Asian guys named Tyrone Walker (Now watch someone produce a link to an Asian guy named Tyrone Walker). You can combat this by changing the name in the editor of your save. I've done it for a few wild names and this goes for tag teams as well. I've had tons of people come through my dojo with like 8 star quality and 20 charisma plus bad in ring. I can't even imagine someone that uninteresting!
