2011 - Summer of Punk BETA Release!

Recommended Posts

From what I've managed to see thus far from the check, this update is really really good and very close to a proper release and as I said, you only need to add attributes to some people (the likes of Athena/Ember Moon, JTG & John Morrison from what I've gone over) and that will probably be it, but some people will still find a reason to complain...

Had a scan through the new data and can't see anything that immediately stands out stat-wise. Looks like a solid foundation to build upon. Great work man.

Gonna agree with this, it looks a LOT better after the update. The only thing that really stands out to me is there's a big disparity between company popularities and worker popularities which is causing a lot of companies to be stuck with a roster full of unimportant workers, here's some examples with a few other added things I noticed:

- All of Dragon Gate's workers are Recognisable or below because their most popular guys are in the mid-high 40s while DG themselves are at 70 pop, same for DGUSA (they're at 38). Just scaling the company back a bit and giving their workers a solid boost across the board would probably be the best solution

- ZERO1's Ryouji Sai (world champion) and Hartley Jackson (national champion) could do with some boosts as they're unimportant, same with Kohei Sato and KAMIKAZE

- I think Tanahashi would be deserving of a sizable boost to his skills, at the moment he's on 61 technical, 60 psychology, 56 basics, 60 selling. His pop is spot on so he's still a huge star for them, but he was having incredible matches all through this time period and pretty much single handedly dragging them back to relevancy.

- Kenta Kobashi could get a big boost to his psychology (69) and a slight boost to his popularity (mid 70s), some buffs for KENTA and Takeshi Morishima would be good too

- CMLL only have 6 recognisable workers, everybody else is unimportant, pretty much the same situation for AAA. Would be fair to be very liberal with the boosts here, guys like Dr. Wagner Jr., Konnan, Negro Casas, Cibernetico, Perro Aguayo, Ultimo Guerrero, Hector Garza and so on would be deserving of massive boosts

That's just some stuff I noticed but I'm assuming you haven't really got around to going super in depth on popularity yet so it's probably already on your radar. Anyway, good stuff on the update, I really didn't expect this much of a change in just a day but it really is night and day.

- John Cena is set to debut in April 1995, he didn't debut until 1999.

- Mark Haskins is set to debut in 2003 and born in 1985, he debuted in July 2006 and was born in May 1988.

- Kofi Kingston is set as Pacific American, graduate of the FCW Wrestling School & debuting in August 1999, he should be set as Black American or Ghanaian, trained by Chaotic Wrestling, OVW & Killer Kowalski (in his bio) and debuting in June 2006.

- John Morrison debuted in 2002, not 1997.

- CM Punk debuted in 1999, not 1996.

I also simmed to January 2012 and the AI seems to work fine in terms of title switches and awards, I'll try to sim until 2013 or 2014 tomorrow if I have the time.

Thanks very much. It sounds as though im going to have to go through the debut dates and fix them up as they also directly affect the experience skill iv given everybody. Cheers bud

You're welcome. Yeah you'll probably have to go through all of that to make it true to life, I'm quite surprised that people didn't notice anything of this sort, but then again they were VERY focused on the stat balancing.

Update:

So today i have gone through to debut dates and amended them along with experience (which i calculated at 7 points per active year).

Went through all companies products and schedules

Amended the popularity for AAA, CMLL and their roster

Amended any other issues posted

And tweaked some skills

Anybody else got any feedback or errors before i post an update later on?

That's great to hear! I simmed to 2013 and during 2012 both CZW & SHIMMER folded so take that as you may. The booking of the top companies seems to be as realistic as possible and i'd personally advise you to tweak how much signings WWE can make because Blue Meanie shouldn't be fighting Zack Ryder for the US Title in 2012. Also Kane, Taker & Triple H all left WWE within a year and a half of simming.
