Due to some inactivity I did miss to say something to your start Stretch but I have to say I like it. I'm not having the biggest knowledge about Joshi stuff but Stardom is obviously the promotion which I watched most of all Joshi companies so far.

- Mayu & Koguma not clicking ruined a perfectly built card! Still really happy that I’ve come through the tournament injury free and with some interesting matchups set up!

 

- Giulia & Tam great chemistry is great to see! This card was in love with giving 68’s! I must have been hitting caps with match times or something! Still 67 Rated show is more than acceptable, its been a great tour!

 

- Momo vs Giulia in the final of the 5 Star GP should be a brilliant match as although both competitors have won the Cinderella tournament, neither have won the 5 Star!

Kid was emotional when KAIRI left 5 years earlier, however, this is a whole new Sky Tiger who is now dancing in the darkness, posing the Pirate Princess KAIRI a serious threat.

Mai insists on Waka opposing her to kick off this match, before mocking her former friend.

 

Underhanded tactics throughout kept the other members of Cosmic Angels away from Mai. At the finale, the other 3 members from each side hit finishers on each other, to clear the ring until Mai & Waka are left standing opposite each other. Mai gestures for Waka to attack her but catches her arm and turns it into a quick pinning predicament Waka is unable to escape.

Match Overview:

Koguma thought about the bear dance for 0.1 seconds before Kamitani cartwheels over and delivers a forearm to start this title match.

 

Fear not though as after a couple of minutes Koguma manages to send Kamitani into the ropes and apply the bear pose on Kamitani, sitting down on the apron, as Saya struggles to free herself from the ropes.

 

Saya finally manages to hit the Star Crusher on Koguma, after Koguma managed to wriggle out of two previous attempts, to score the win.

MIRAI blames her recent injuries / bad luck for her poor performance in the 5STAR. She hopes to show Syuri her strength after coming up short in the World of STARDOM clash at the start of this year.

 

Syuri:

Syuri questions why MIRAI is struggling so much since she fought her at the Nagoya Supreme fight. She also assures the fans she won’t get complacent as she looks to regain her form.

 

Match Overview:

We see a supremely focused Syuri hyper focus in on MIRAI’s left arm, trying to weaken the limb to reduce the impact of those fierce lariats.

 

The joint manipulation and strikes pay off for Syuri as damage inflicted on MIRAI’s arm prevents a sustained comeback from occurring.

 

After hanging MIRAI’s arm over the ropes in an arm bar, MIRAI can’t help but submit after Syuri continues wrenches to wrench back until the tap out ends the match.

Queen’s Quest were desperately unlucky to finish second place in the faction league standings, with AZM specifically running out of time against Momo in the group decider. The pair are looking to bounce back with some titles around their waist.

Natsupoi promises Himeka she will show the world why she is a champion, with Himeka looking on with a satisfied grin. (Second character focus on Natsupoi, next week, will explain where this renewed determination has come from)

 

Match Overview:

Utami & Himeka kick off this contest by knocking 7 bells out of each other, skipping the slow build in favour of huge power moves. Himeka tags out first allowing Natsupoi to bump and fly around Utami, eventually managing to ground the giant.

 

AZM is eventually tagged in for some high-speed shenanigans with Natsupoi, which really hyped up the crowd.

 

Finish comes as Natsupoi looks to tag out but Himeka encourages her to finish the job. A minute later AZM is down, allowing the Fairial Gift to be delivered perfectly for the 1,2,3!

Starlight gloats at being the only STARDOM wrestler to pin KAIRI 1v1 since she has returned. She gloats about Oedo Tai proving they are the strongest faction by winning the first ever faction league at the 5STAR and looks forward to handing KAIRI her second ever loss, in turn taking the red belt away from her.

 

KAIRI:

KAIRI jokes that as she was the lone 16th women in the 5STAR, if her score was tripled she would have won the faction league. Three KAIRI’s would be silly though, 3 KAIRI’s in Stardom would be crazy … three KAIRI Dom … three K Dom … 3 Dom … she walks off

 

Match Overview:

KAIRI had a real uphill battle, as whilst Starlight Kid was flanked by Saki, Ruaka & Death, KAIRI entered by herself with only really rookie Miyu Amasaki in her corner.

 

A breath taking Moonsault wipes out Oedo Tai after constant Oedo Tai interference allows KAIRI to finish the closing stretch unscathed. She was also helped by Miyu Amasaki, who managed to rip up Death’s newspaper to distract her and bounce Kashima off the ring post, with only Ruaka managing to overpower her.

 

Starlight & KAIRI are able to have a nice closing stretch proving that Starlight can compete at the highest level without constant Oedo Tai interference but ultimately falls, as many have to the Insane Elbow.

She challenges for the red belt as she needs to set an example for her faction, alongside wanting to test herself against the new and improved KAIRI, hands are shaken and the match is set for Winter Warfare.

Giulia speaks about her undefeated 5STAR run so far, crediting it to a lack of Prominence allowing her to enter each contest with a clear head. She calls back to Momo’s defeat in last years final to a member of the stable she built.

 

Momo Watanabe:

Watanabe states it was obvious from the start that she was going to score the most points but that “little rat” AZM stopped her from a perfect max points haul!

 

Match Overview:

The story of this match mainly happens before the bell, when ring announcer Yurie announces Giulia. DDM’s leader moves to the centre of the ring to strike her DDM pose, only for 5 seconds of Prominence’s music to be played, which shocked her as music isn’t normally played during introductions and Prominence haven’t been present for a month!

 

Throughout the match the fans could tell that Giulia was frazzled by the musical mistake, leading her to make some key mistakes and to be introduced to Momo’s right boot a few more times then Giulia would have liked.

 

Giulia’s frequent head turns ultimately led to her downfall, as Momo drills her with her signature Somato for a huge surprise win for the white belt champion!

AZM tells her not to rest on her laurels as they will be main eventing Winter Warfare for the white belt, if Momo retains over Syuri, if she doesn’t, they’ll fight over her newly won briefcase, which give Momo a Red Belt match after winning the 5STAR!

- Maika sustained a Swollen Calf Muscle … can work through for 27 days, but I’ll give her the month off to rest up, as we have the roster depth.

 

- Momo Watanabe is shocking me once again Sustaining a Fractured Cheek Bone … she can work through the injury for 21 days but she will also get a 21 day holiday to rest for the PPV.

 

- KAIRI vs Mayu for the red belt will semi-main event Winter Warfare. Probably will be the wrong call but it was the only way to fulfil AZM’s Cinderella dream / will hopefully still score big rating!

 

- Disappointing show grade, without doubt hurt by the injury in the main event. I’m still please with the 5STAR league format as it led to some fun defences

 

- KAIRI says we should push Momo Watanabe in the emails after the show! Pleased with 1 of the new number 1 contenders, potentially scared of Mayu!

A mix of travelling for work and slight burnout meant this was posted late! On the plus side, I’ve finally worked out what to do about the Cosmic Angels booking!

 

The Prediction league has become a four-horse race thanks to the format but the competition has gotten really close! With only 3 PPV’s left, it will be fun to see who comes out on top!

 

I book the PPV a full real-life week ahead, to ensure I don’t tweak post predictions, so it’s really fun to see. 10 matches penciled in for Year-End climax at the end of the year, means it's all to play for!

A Jumbo Lesson – A Natsupoi Character Focus pt2

 

 

Flashback 4 weeks ago

 

A soft breeze blows through Natsupoi’s hair, as she winds down the window a little lower and puts her feet up on the car dashboard.

 

Natsupoi:

“Oi Hime, crazy how they left us out of the 5STAR this year huh?”

 

Himeka:

“Yeah… no, I requested for Giulia not nominate either of us …“

 

Natsupoi:

“EHHHH!?!”

 

Himeka indicates off the road, to a small grass verge. She switches off the ignition before turning to her friend.

 

Himeka:

“I didn’t think you were mentally ready to take on the grueling 5STAR, in fact hop out now.”

 

They both move to the front of the hire car, which was basking in the afternoon Tokyo sun, looking down onto the city.

 

Himeka:

“Hit me!”

 

Natsupoi glances round and whilst no one could be seen in the vicinity, she was still baffled by what her friend suggested.

 

Natsupoi:

“Say again?”

 

Himeka raises her palms towards Natsupoi offering them up as a target.

 

Himeka:

“Hit me! Pretend I'm Thekla and hit me!”

 

Natsupoi jolts her head back and her eyebrows raise, then returns a weak punch.

 

Himeka:

“Of course, I expect nothing less from DDM’s weakest little …” Himeka drawls in a Thekla's accent.

 

A firm punch lands in the centre of her palms. “There we go, again!”

 

Natsupoi:

“Shut up, shut up, shut up!” Natsupoi eventually cries out as her voice becomes hoarse and her energy is spent up on her combinations. She drops to a knee and takes some deep breaths.

 

Himeka gives her space before walking a few steps over and lifting her chin.

 

Himeka:

"Look, I’m sorry, I just felt like you were letting her walk all over you. As you know bottling it up does twice as much damage. You are challenging her for her belt at the PPV and winning, ok?"

 

Himeka stretches out a closed fist towards her.

 

Instead of the expected fist bump back, Natsupoi clasps Himeka's fist in the signature DDM pose, before returning to the passenger seat.

 

Himeka smirks before returning to the vehicle, ready to continue driving them towards the fireworks show...
