Battle of the Blades

Ashley Keith vs Sae Akutagawa vs Miwako Katsukawa

The leadership on Nova Blade is on the line in this internal triple threat. After some tensions inside the group, Miwako Katsukawa proposed this bout to finally find who will lead the faction, avoiding different point of views which can compromise Nova Blade’s future. During the Press Conference, the tension between the allies keeps rising and we don’t know if this match could really solve the situation … But at least we will find the new leading figure!

Honey & Luck vs Iron Curtain vs Euro Stars

The show opens up with a triple threat tandem match, with a shot at the NeoTokyo Tandem title on the line for the winning team. All three tandems try their best to get the win: Honey Badger and Felicia Luck deliver a lot of strikes, Erin Grey and Katya Kornishkova bring the Iron Curtain on their opponents, using their physical power, while the Euro Stars Serena Ventura and Blair Kerrigan use their flashiness, all of this in a balanced bout. At the end, after 17 mins, Blair Kerrigan takes out Honey Badger and Felicia Luck with a Tope Suicida but leaves Serena Ventura alone in the ring who is knocked out by the Iron Curtain from Erin Grey and Katya Kornishkova combined, who win the match and gain the title shot. Not the best match, but useful to give some exposure to these minor tandems.

NeoTokyo Futureshock Title

Fujiko Mushashibo © vs Yayoi Kurmochi vs Hoshiko Tagawa

During the entrance, Hoshiko Tagawa immediately launches herself against the champ Fujiko Mushashibo, adding bad blood between them after the Press Conference. Yayoi Kurmochi joins the fight, not afraid to get her hands dirty. The match turns out to be really nice, a good example of the Future-resu product of NeoTokyo with a fast pace and a lot of strikes. After 19 mins, Fujiko Mushashibo knocks out Hoshiko Tagawa with a Shining Wizard. Hoshiko rolls out of the ring, getting mocked by Akuma’s little devils: Naoko Hayashida, Kichi Mochizuki and Skuld. In the ring, Yayoi Kurmochi tries a roll-up on Fujiko, but the champ gets back on his feet, planting another Shining Wizard, this time on Kurmochi. After that, Fujiko Mushashibo goes for her beautiful Moonsault to pin the opponent and retain the gold.

WINNER AND STILL: FUJIKO MUSHASHIBO

Morgan Stryker vs Rika Tsujimura

In the only one versus one match of the night, Morgan Stryker takes on injured Unstoppable Tai’s partner, Rika Tsujimura. The knee strikes of former NeoTokyo Futureshock champ, Rika Tsujimura, deal damage to the blackbelt Morgan Stryker, who still doesn’t back down and fires back at the opponent. This led to an open match with superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. After 22 mins, Rika Tsujimura taps out to Stryker’s lethal Triangle Choke who already made Unstoppable Tai tap. Another convincing win for Morgan Stryker who celebrates, while Tsujimura seems upset with herself after the loss.

WINNER: MORGAN STRYKER

NeoTokyo Tandem Title

HEARTS Of GLORY © vs Warrior Princesses vs Sorrow

With the NeoTokyo Tandem titles on the line, the favourites Maki Yoshifumi & Yu Hashimoto start really strong, with Maki Yoshifumi in her first match after her recent win in a MMA fight who almost broke Akari Kawashima’s arm in the first minute. The tandem of Sorrow quite dominate the bout, but the Warrior Princesses have a nice comeback, especially with Yukiko Matsumara who get close the win the match, almost pinning Yu Hashimoto. Maki Yoshifumi and Yu Hashimoto spend the majority of the match fighting and look quite exhausted in the final minutes of the match after a great performance. This lead to a comeback from Akari Kawashima and HEART Koiso, who build their momentum and finally get the win by pinning Himari Miwa after 25 mins. HEARTS Of GLORY raise their titles under the eyes of Maki Yoshifumi & Yu Hashimoto who tell them that this ain’t over, and they will bring Sorrow over the champs in the near future!

Battle of the Blades

Ashley Keith vs Sae Akutagawa vs Miwako Katsukawa

The leadership on Nova Blade is on the line in this internal triple threat. After a dynamic match where all three joshi seems real candidates to win the bout, we arrives to the key moment: with Sae Akutagawa knocked out outside of the ring, after a Northern Lights Bomb by Katsukawa, Ashley Keith puts Miwako Katsukawa in her Proton Lock in the squared circle! Miwako screams in agony, trying to escape the hold without results … Sae Akutagawa crawls back in the ring, slowed down by the weight of the fight, finally getting close to her opponents to break the lock … BUT MIWAKO TAPS OUT IN HER FACE! Ashley Keith wins the match after 23 mins and takes the spot as the leader of the Nova Blade. After the match, the joshi are followed by Erin Grey and Katya Kornishkova. Ashley Keith takes her leading role and proposes a fist pump with the “blade sign”. The Iron Curtain follows her, and after few seconds even the losers, Sae Akutagawa and Miwako Katsukawa joins the group. After some tensions, it seems like Nova Blade is back together, now under the guide of “the Queen of Pro Wrestling” Ashley Keith.

WINNER AND NEW NOVA BLADE’S LEADER: ASHLEY KEITH

NeoTokyo Universal Title

Megumi Nakajima © vs Artifact Takami vs Shiori Jippensha

And is now time for the Main Event! The NeoTokyo Universal Title is on the line, as champ Megumi Nakajima defends the belt from the assaults of the last two Universal champ, Artifact Takami and Shiori Jippensha. The match sees superb wrestling and a good heat from the crowd here in Kawasaki. The action is absolutely fast paced with a lot of spots that include all three wrestlers, making this a bout really different from the typical one versus one for the big gold. After 26 mins, Shiori Jippensha locks Megumi Nakajima in her Leglock, close to make the champ tap! But Artifact Takami breaks the submission hold and proceeds to connect her Takami Bomb. But right before pinning Jippensha, Megumi Nakajima closes Takami in a quick cradle for the pin: 1! … 2! … 3!!! Megumi Nakajima retains the NeoTokyo Universal title once again, in what has been the match of the night.

WINNER AND STILL: MEGUMI NAKAJIMA

Best of luck with this diary! I held off posting as I've gotten too invested in a couple of diaries that fizzled out but it looks like you've got a good schedule with this.

Love the presentation! I think the press conferences are the key to your success as there are alot of new names!

Emiko Miyoshi is the girl I'm rooting for! She looks like she had a couple of title successes early on, so I hope she can kick on!

Last time Tai connected her finisher but ended up being submitted by a Triangle Choke out of nowhere by judo blackbelt Morgan Stryker. At the interview, Morgan Stryker claims that she will find a way, once again, to adapt to the situation and defeat her rival, while Unstoppable Tai is eager to destroy Stryker inside the cage.

NeoTokyo Universal Title – Cage Match

Megumi Nakajima © vs Maki Yoshifumi

In the first NeoTokyo Universal Title match of her career, Maki Yoshifumi is focus on gaining the big belt. Inside a steel cage, an MMA fighter like her could probably be the favourite to winning this match. Still, it’s hard to think Megumi Nakajima as the underdog, as she has been a fantastic champ so far and such a great joshi. During the final staredown Maki Yoshifumi whispers something to the champ, definitely some trash talk, but Megumi Nakajima reacts calmly, simply smiling at her next opponent. Four cage matches and a deathmatch in the hardest event of NeoTokyo … WE WILL SEE BLOOD, STEEL, CAGES! THIS SUNDAY!

NeoTokyo Tandem Title – Cage Match

Akari Kawashima & HEART Koiso (HEARTS Of GLORY) © vs Kate Lilly & Debbie Rose

In a bout that has superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd, the HEARTS Of GLORY defend their NeoTokyo Tandem Title inside a steel cage from the assault of 2-time Tandem champs, Lilly & Rose. Debbie Rose sustains a broken jaw and is slowed a little by working with an injury, but still the bout doesn’t disappoint, lasting for 21 mins when HEART Koiso submits Kate Lilly, while her partner hits the Kawashima Driver 2020 on Debbie Rose. HEARTS Of GLORY remain once again Tandem champs, celebrating with the crowd and with other Cosmic Keys’ members, Chitose Ariwara and Lady Lotus.

The owner Saeko Hiroyuki comes to the ring through the matches, taking a microphone. After thanking everyone in attendance, she says that she’s came out here to announce the next event: NEOTOKYO TRIPLETS TAKEOVER!! A show full of three versus three action, that will be called “triplets” here in NeoTokyo, a fresh way to call the division, just like they did with “tandems” as tag teams. And at Triplets Takeover, the team who will win the upcoming 8-triplet tournament will win the 1st edition of the NeoTokyo Triplets Trophy

NeoTokyo Futureshock Title – Deathmatch

Fujiko Mushashibo © vs Yuma Furuta

Fujiko Mushashibo defends her NeoTokyo Futureshock Title against Yuma Furuta, who debuts her unstable “maniac” gimmick who gets an initial rating of Great. The bout isn’t received really well by the audience due to the type of match, but still it’s something new that NeoTokyo wanted to try. Both wrestlers are willing to risk, taking stunt bumps for lifting the match. After 15 mins, in a bout pretty quick and chaotic, Fujiko Mushashibo remains the champ, pinning Yuma Furuta with her Moonsault.

WINNER AND STILL: FUJIKO MUSHASHIBO

Cage Match

Morgan Stryker vs Unstoppable Tai

Another cage match, this time we finally have the rematch between Morgan Stryker and Unstoppable Tai, who have a bout with superb wrestling and a decent reaction from the crowd. Tai imposes her size once again, dominating the majority of the match, while Stryker targets the arms and the legs of the opponent with hard strikes. After 22 mins, Tai connects her Tai Bomber and when Stryker tries to lock her up with a Triangle Choke, she deadlifts her up once again, hitting another Tai Bomber: 1! … 2! … 3!

WINNER: UNSTOPPABLE TAI

RATING: 63

NeoTokyo Universal Title – Cage Match

Megumi Nakajima © vs Maki Yoshifumi

The NeoTokyo Universal champ enters the cage in the main event against MMA fighter and former NeoTokyo Tandem champ Maki Yoshifumi. Great wrestling and good heat from the crowd, Yoshifumi is slowed down a little by a minor injury but that doesn’t stop her from having a nice performance, using the cage structure to her advantage multiple times for attacking the opponent. After 23 mins Megumi Nakajima goes for her Nakajima Straight Jacket and Maki Yoshifumi escapes the move, turning herself and hitting a devastating Duck-Under Head Kick. It’s not easy to believe that. But Megumi Nakajima’s reign comes to an end, as the pinfall by Maki Yoshifumi reaches the 3-count. WE HAVE A NEW CHAMP!

WINNER AND NEW: MAKI YOSHIFUMI

RATING: 84 (MATCH OF THE NIGHT)

BREAKING NEWS:

SIGNINGS WAR WITH 5SSW?

5SSW tries to sign 5 joshi from NeoTokyo, offering exclusive written contracts.

dLHC6JE.jpgbsVfz3V.jpgZcxGyGA.jpgIwZwrAR.jpgN1JuLDk.jpg

After reaching medium size, 5SSW tried to sign Ashley Keith, Kate Lilly, Rika Tsujimura, Yayoi Kurmochi and Mizucore, offering them multi-years exclusive written contract. This led to a reaction from NeoTokyo, not willing to lose these talents, and after some bids war NeoTokyo was able to complete the signings of the five joshi on exclusive written contracts, the first ones in NeoTokyo’s history. The contracts were pretty heavy and will definitely impact the company’s economy, it will be interest to know if this will lead to more tensions between the joshi companies and other signings wars, considering that both share a number of workers on handshake deals right now.

Triplets Trophy – 1st Quarter-final

Jippensha, Miyoshi, Genda (HALO) vs Hashimoto, Unstoppable Tai, Tsujimura (Sorrow)

The first match sees former NeoTokyo Universal champ, Shiori Jippensha, and formers NeoTokyo Futureshock champs, Emiko Miyoshi and Nami Genda, versus Sorrow’s Yu Hashimoto, Unstoppable Tai and Rika Tsujimura. HALO is a faction well built and full of talent, but on the other side Sorrow is really scary with those three joshi accompanied by new Universal Champ, Maki Yoshifumi. Unstoppable Tai could be the turning point of this match, imposing her unmatched strength.

Triplets Trophy – 2nd Quarter-final

Mushashibo, Mizucore, Spider Isako (AKUMA) vs Ashley Keith, Akutagawa, Katsukawa (Nova Blade)

The chaotic daredevils of AKUMA enter this tournament under Fujiko Mushashibo’s lead, with Mizucore and Spider Isako teaming up with her. Still not super experienced, the three heelish joshi will fight against Nova Blade. Maybe the scariest triplet in the company, but the tensions between the leader Ashley Keith and other members Sae Akutagawa and Miwako Katsukawa are still there and could backfire pretty quick.

Triplets Trophy – 3rd Quarter-final

Takami, Hosaka, Minami vs Nakajima, Matsumara, Miwa (Megumi-gun)

2-time Universal champ Artifact Takami will team with her friend, the young lion Satoko Hosaka coming back from an injury, and Omitsu Minami. Their opponents will be Megumi-Gun, led by Megumi Nakajima with the Warrior Princesses, Yukiko Matsumara and Himari Miwa. The favourites are clearly Megumi-gun, due to the star power of Takami’s partners, not exactly the best team.

After 18 mins, Neo Gaijin gets the win as Kate Lilly pins Chitose Ariwara after her Lilly Launch Pad.

This is really good! I have to admit I've not read every show, but have caught up on the last couple. The presentation is very clean, and I like that you are focusing on the main shows (with press conferences setting things up) - so keep it up!

Looking forward to the next show.
