Wrestling Machine Posted April 23, 2022 Share Posted April 23, 2022 Introduction The Canadian Wrestling Alliance was formed in 2018 when the two great families of Canadian wrestling, the Stones and the DeColts joined forces in the wake of the deaths of their respective patriarchs. Both NOTBPW and CGC had been struggling to remain relevant for several years prior to this, weighed down by ageing, overfamiliar rosters and the weight of their own histories, and so by uniting they could remain strong enough to withstand the American powers of USPW and SWF. With an emphasis on combining the great ringwork of NOTBPW with the showmanship of CGC and promoting fresh new talent, the CWA has been a huge success thus far. After two years, the Canadian Wrestling Alliance is doing pretty good, on the verge to become a large size company. Having just signed a 2-years broadcast deal with CBN for its weekly shows: the A-Show CWA Wednesday Wrestling and the new B-Show CWA Saturday Stampede, the long-term goal is definitely becoming the most popular company in Canada, passing American company USPW. _____________________________________________________________________________ Stone Family Son of the iconic Dan Stone, Jeremy Stone is widely regarded as one of the finest technical wrestlers to ever set foot in a ring and was known as "The Canadian Wrestling Machine" due to his precision and stamina. He’s currently working as road agent, doing a fantastic job booking the shows and helping younger wrestlers to develop. Another CWA’s Road Agent, Duane Stone has been one of the finest junior heavyweight wrestlers of the modern era. His gruesome leg injury in 2017 robbed NOTBPW as one of their few genuine draws and was a key factor in the eventual historic unification of NOTBPW and CGC. 19 years old "Dynamic" David Stone is the son of Dan Stone Jr, grandson of legendary Dan Stone and the latest member of the famous dynasty to enter the world of professional wrestling. With Pro Wrestling in his blood it's almost inconceivable that David won't become a top-class grappler. He debuted on the CWA roster to great fanfare in April 2019 and is clearly being groomed as an eventual megastar. _____________________________________________________________________________ DeColt Family The eldest of George DeColt's famous sons, Steve DeColt is the CEO of Canadian Wrestling Alliance and portraits his role even on screen, playing the role of an Evil CEO. In 2017 he married Sarah Stone, making him a significant part of both of the two great Canadian wrestling families and the ideal person to run the DeColt-Stone super group. 6-time CGC World champ Jack DeColt is now 42 years old, still he’s a big name in Canada and he’s using his star power to elevate some new talents. Also, he started working even as Road Agent and now he’s booking the entire women’s division. Ricky DeColt is the youngest of the DeColts, now 35 years old and in his absolute prime. Former CWA World Tag champ with his brother Jack, many believe that a future run as CWA World champ could be on his path. _____________________________________________________________________________ Starting champs CWA World champ, Christian “The Stud” Price is a major star for the company and the leader of the ELITE, a long-time heel stable. Price won the world title as CWA Summer Smash in August 2019. The Dynamite Express, Syd Collier and Cam Jones, have dominated CWA's tag team scene so far and they are CWA World Tag champs for a year now. They also are part of the ELITE. Potential future star, Mr.Impact is currently the CWA Television champ, defending his belt quite always just on TV. After almost 18 mins, the Brothers Cain (Eli Cain, Luke Cain) interfere in the match out of nowhere, attacking the DeColts Boys and the Generation Z. With the assist from the Brothers Cain, that seems already planned, Syd Collier easily submits Alyx Winters with his Texas Cloverleaf. The Dynamite Express make defence number twenty of the CWA World Tag Team titles, celebrating with Drake Young, while Eli Cain and Luke Cain return to the backstage. Blockbuster and Drake Young distract Aaron Knight few times, before Donte Dunn comes out to stop them, starting to brawl with Blockbuster at ringside. As a result, the referee bans all three from the match, leaving Christian Price alone against Aaron Knight, what an opportunity for “The A-Game”! Still, Christian Price is a World champ for a reason, and he defeats Aaron Knight in 20 mins after his Price Check for the decisive pinfall. Still a solid main event, Price and Knight don’t seem to click so the bout results as awkward. To end the show, Christian Price lifts his CWA World title . Aaron Knight comes out and simply gives credit to Christian Price for his win, without searching for excuses. Although, “The A-Game” is already focused on gaining another title shot as soon as possible. Christian Price snubs Aaron Knight, leaving the ring. Segment Rating: 85 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Talking about earning the #1 contender’s spot, the commentators present us a Gold Rush Tournament between eight wrestlers to gain a title shot at the CWA World championship. In the first round, Donte Dunn goes one on one against George Wolfe in a battle of heavyweights, Shooter Sean Deeley will fight former TV champ Mr. Impact, Aaron Knight and Johnny Bloodstone will clash in the main event, while Jared Johnson goes one on one against “The Flow” Skip Beau up next! Segment Rating: 68 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Gold Rush Tournament – CWA World title Jared Johnson vs Skip Beau In a good match, Jared Johnson defeats Skip Beau in 13 mins by submission with a Carolina Crossface, passing the first turn. Still, not a great performance from “Double J” who seems off his game. TV champ David Stone refuses even this proposal from his boss, not willing to follow Vessey’s bad attitude. Cameron Vessey goes face-to-face with David Stone, eager to give the youngster a lesson after this act of disrespect. Steve DeColt stops “The MVP” but still makes official a match for next wednesday: David Stone versus Cameron Vessey for the Television title!! Segment Rating: 82 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Gold Rush Tournament – CWA World title Donte Dunn vs George Wolfe The second bout of the first round sees a clash between to big man, as “The Barbadian Barbarian” Donte Dunn comes out as the winner, pinning George Wolfe in 10 mins. Great heat and good wrestling in this match. Winner: Donte Dunn Segment Rating: 61 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Drake Young and The Dynamite Express, Cam Jones and Syd Collier, celebrate their defence number twenty of their CWA World Tag Team titles. After that, the members of the ELITE callout Eli and Luke Cain, who help them retaining the gold. The Brothers Cain come out and, without being fooled by the words of the Dynamite Express, they demand a title shot, something that Drake Young propose to them in exchange of a helping hand. Segment Rating: 57 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ The Brothers Cain (Eli Cain, Luke Cain) vs Generation Z (Alyx Winters, Flip Simkins) In a bout that has a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, the Brothers Cain defeats Generation Z in 9 mins when Luke Cain pins Alyx Winters with the Mark of Cain. Gen Z looking for revenge but come as the losers, while Jack and Ricky DeColt witness the match from a tv backstage. Winners: The Brothers Cain (Eli Cain, Luke Cain) Segment Rating: 54 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Nadia Snow celebrates her title defence alongside Jessica Conroy and Deborah Young, before Amber Allen comes out to stop her braggings. “The Queen” cheated to win at CWA Clash Classic, so Amber Allen simply demands a fair rematch. This time, Brooke Tyler joins the party, and targets the CWA Women’s title. It looks like we could have a nice “triangle” around the women’s championship. Shooter Sean Deeley comes out as the winner, passing the turn after defeating Mr. Impact in 8 mins by submission with a Seated Stretch Armbar. Segment Rating: 61 __________________________________________________ ___________________________ Sean McFly talks about his future, announcing that HE WILL NOT RETIRE! The veteran thought about it for a while, deciding that he has more in the tank. Suddendly, someone comes out to blindside Sean McFly: IT’S PRICETON PRYCE! The rookie attacks the veteran and beats him down. Why Princeton attacked McFly?
