HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
You got that right. But first, we are in for the initially planned main event of Big Van Vader vs Barry Windham. These two men were originally scheduled to compete in the main event, but the buzz around WCW’s tag team scene has forced a change, especially with the quality of the wrestlers involved in the tag team match.
They’ll be motivated to steal back the spotlight, that’s for sure. Vader looks to maintain his unstoppable start and has looked like he’s at the peak of his career. But Windham’s no slouch and this should be a hard hitting start to the night.
3wSc89I.jpg
Well folks, we’ve gotta get this show started! Tony, Jim, take it away!

Big Van Vader has been on an unstoppable run in WCW's Premier League, but tonight he faces a tough challenge in 'Widowmaker' Barry Windham. Windham has shown he can go toe-to-toe with anyone, and tonight we'll see if he has what it takes to topple the seemingly unbeatable Vader.
You said it, Jim. Vader is a beast and continues to be one of the most dominant forces in WCW. But Barry is a fighter. The dude can go. And tonight, they have the extra motivation of being shafted from the main event. Let’s get this show on the road!
1JITbbY.jpg
The bell rings, signaling the start of what promises to be a hard-hitting encounter. Windham wastes no time, immediately targeting Vader's knee to gain an advantage. The arena reverberates with the impact of each strike as both competitors engage in a fierce southern brawl. Windham's strategy is clear—to exploit Vader's weaknesses and test his resilience. As the match progresses, Windham gains momentum, damaging Vader’s knee further against the steel steps. Vader is hobbling around everywhere and Barry is refusing to let up, trying to capitalize on the advantage.

Vader summons his immense strength despite the damage to his knee. With a display of sheer power, Vader delivers a devastating powerbomb to Windham, stunning the audience. Despite Windham's valiant effort, Vader's dominance proves too much to overcome.

After the match, Big Van Vader drops to one knee and tries to shake out the injury as referee Nick Patrick raises his hand in victory. Barry rolls out of the ring and stumbles to the back, holding his neck.

Big Van Vader (3-0-2) defeated Barry Windham (1-3-1) in 15:18 by way of pin fall. Vader improves to 2 wins no losses all time against Windham.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Michael Hayes has finally gained some momentum in the WCW Grand Prix, but he faces a formidable challenge tonight against the electrifying Johnny B Badd. Can Hayes keep the momentum going, or will Johnny B Badd deliver another knockout performance?
Both Michael Hayes and Johnny B Badd bring a lot of excitement to the Division Two ring tonight. But if I had my way tonight, we’d see Michael Hayes eat a Wild Thing Haymaker
1JITbbY.jpg
The match kicks off with Hayes and Johnny B Badd engaging in a playful exchange, showcasing their charisma and ring awareness. Hayes and Douglas work in tandem, using their unique chemistry to create distractions and frustrate Badd. The bout features comedic moments, with Douglas playing a pivotal role from ringside despite his injury. As the match intensifies, Johnny B Badd unleashes his trademark offense, dazzling the crowd with his agility and boxing skills. Hayes, determined to maintain his winning streak, counters with his unorthodox tactics and veteran instincts. The back-and-forth action keeps the audience on the edge of their seats, with both competitors vying for the upper hand.

Johnny builds up momentum when Shane Douglas rolls into the ring, comically playing up his ankle injury. Johnny B Badd doesn’t hesitate though, as he delivers his Wild Thing Haymakers to both Hayes and Douglas, capitalizing on the opportunity to secure the victory.

Gary is then about to interview Tully Blanchard, but is interrupted by The Classic Era and ‘The Kiwi Queen’ Susan Sexton. Sexton says that WCW World Wide is Bobby Eaton’s stomping ground and since The Classic Era has a gap in their schedule, he’s putting out an Eaton Open for anyone to answer.

The title graphic shows for WCW’s Inside the Squared Circle segment, and the show pivots to a studio segment featuring the legendary Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, and Magnum TA. At the bottom of the screen, a news ticker hypes next weeks WCW subsidiary shows.

3wSc89I.jpg
Tonight's WCW Saturday Night is making history with its first-ever tag team division main event featuring Thunder Dragon against The Miracle Violence Connection. This match promises to be an epic showcase of tag team wrestling prowess, highlighting the depth and talent in WCW's tag team division. It's a bold move by WCW to elevate the tag team scene and provide fans with an exciting main event that breaks away from the traditional singles match format.
Break away from tradition? What a load of nonsense, Magnum. WCW Saturday Night is the flagship show of the company, and it should be headlined by nothing less than a Premier League match featuring top singles competitors. Tag team matches belong on the undercard, not as the main event. This decision is a step backward for WCW, diluting the prestige of Saturday Night with second-rate talent. Just look at Steamboat and Williams, they are talent that’s been relegated out of the Premier League for God’s sake!
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Jesse, I respectfully disagree. Tag team wrestling is an essential part of the sport, and showcasing top tag teams like Thunder Dragon and The Miracle Violence Connection in the main event highlights the depth of talent in WCW's roster. Fans are excited to see these teams clash, and it's a refreshing change of pace from the usual singles matches.
Depth of talent? Spare me the tag team propaganda, Magnum. The main event should feature the best of the best, not a sideshow act like tag team wrestling. Thunder Dragon and The Miracle Violence Connection may be skilled, but they don't have the star power or draw of Premier League competitors like Hogan, Sting, or Flair. WCW is shooting itself in the foot by putting tag teams in the spotlight instead of focusing on what truly matters - it’s Premier League competition.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Well, Jesse, while we may not see eye to eye on this, one thing's for certain - tonight's main event is going to deliver an incredible display of teamwork and athleticism. Now, let's send it over to Gary Hart who's standing by backstage with Lex Luger and Powerhouse Simmons.

SSW Round 7, Card 2, featuring El Hijo Del Santo vs Robbie Brookside | LPWA Round 6, Card 1, featuring Wendi Richter vs Madusa | W4WA Round 8, Card 1, featuring Ed Moretti vs William Regal | PPW Round 5, Card 2, featuring Paul Orndorff vs The Samoan Savage | PWFG Round 7, Card 1, featuring Volk Han vs Akira Maeda

Powerhouse Simmons and Lex Luger have a promo to hype their match next week. They discuss their history and past rivalry. Sting is present and is asked about his involvement in their previous feud, but he’s distracted and doesn’t answer. He sees Hulk Hogan off camera and confronts him instead and Luger and Simmons are left hanging. The camera follows Sting who begins questioning Hogan for his actions at Battlebowl Atomicos. Hogan blames being misted on him not saving Sting, but Sting argues it’s not the first time Hogan’s failed to have his back. Various wrestlers intervene and prevent this from escalating any further.

Next week’s main event for Saturday Night in WCW's Premier League division features a clash between the seasoned veteran and former champion, Ric Flair (2-2-0), and the struggling underdog 'Lonestar' Dustin Rhodes (0-4-0). Rhodes has been grappling with self-doubt and pressure as he carries the weight of his father's legacy, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Last week, Dustin expressed doubts about his ability to measure up to the expectations placed upon him. Meanwhile, Ric Flair, known for his arrogance and storied history, sees this as an opportunity to prove his dominance once again. Dusty is shown standing in front of his son, as Dustin looks a bit dejected standing behind Dusty.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Dusty Rhodes, my old nemesis, it seems you've sent your boy to do a man's job. Dustin, I've known you since you were knee-high to a grasshopper, boy, but that doesn't mean a thing in this business. Your daddy and I, we've had battles that shook the very foundations of wrestling. But you? You're just a lost pup trying to find your way. The Rhodes name carries weight, but it won't save you from what's coming next week. Get ready to feel the wrath of the Nature Boy, Dustin, because it's time you learn that this business ain't for the faint of heart. Wooooooooo!
Ric Flair, you and me, we go way back, partner. We've fought over that 10 pounds of gold more times than I care to count. But now, you're dealing with a new generation. My boy, Dustin here, he's been struggling, trying to step out of my shadow and make a name for himself. It ain't easy carrying the Rhodes legacy, but Dustin's got the heart of a lion. Flair, you think you've got this all figured out, but next week, my boy is gonna show you what he's made of. Dustin, you belong here, son, and I believe in you. So go out there and show the world that the Lonestar shines brighter than ever. Flair, get ready to feel the wrath of the Rhodes family once again.

The Premier League matchup is set as Arn Anderson makes his way to the ring, exuding confidence and focus. Across from him, El Gigante, accompanied by Flamingo Corp members Scotty Flamingo and Stan Hansen, enters cautiously, nursing a back injury sustained in a previous bout. Gigante's size and strength are undeniable, but his physical condition raises questions about his ability to withstand Anderson's calculated offense.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Tonight, Arn Anderson faces the towering El Gigante, who's battling back from a nagging injury. Anderson is a ring general, known for exploiting weaknesses and capitalizing on any opportunity. It'll be intriguing to see if Gigante's injury becomes a target for the crafty Double A.
Anderson, always strategic, will undoubtedly have a game plan to exploit any vulnerabilities in Gigante's condition. Folks, Gigante may be a… well… giant, but his giant target may just cut him down to size tonight.
1JITbbY.jpg
From the opening bell, Anderson wastes no time targeting El Gigante's injured back, using his technical skills to wear down the giant. Gigante struggles to mount offense against the seasoned Anderson, who maintains control with a relentless assault on Gigante's weak spot. Flamingo Corp looks on from ringside, ready to intervene at any moment. As the match progresses, Gigante's resilience becomes apparent as he absorbs punishment while attempting to mount a comeback. Anderson remains focused on exploiting Gigante's injury, maintaining a methodical approach to wear down his larger opponent. The tension builds as Flamingo Corp's presence looms large at ringside, adding an element of uncertainty to the proceedings.

Scotty Flamingo creates a distraction, allowing Gigante to seize an opening. Despite Anderson's best efforts, Gigante unleashes a devastating claw hold on Anderson. Anderson, unable to withstand the pressure, succumbs to the pain and passes out, leading to Gigante securing a hard-fought victory.

Flamingo, Hansen, Haku, Gigante and Alexandra York all stand tall in the centre of the ring with their arms raised in victory.

El Gigante (2-1-0) defeated Arn Anderson (1-4-0) in 14:58 by way of submission. This was their first singles match against each other, but Arn was victorious in their previous encounter in the tag team division. Their overall record against each other is one win each.

PzJCc3U.jpeg

The anticipation is palpable as Thunder Dragon and The Miracle Violence Connection make their grand entrances, each team embodying distinct styles and fierce competitiveness. Steamboat and Liger, the newly formed team, bring a blend of technical mastery and high-flying excitement, while Williams and Gordy exude brute force and raw power.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This is a historic moment in WCW Grand Prix history, folks. Thunder Dragon and The Miracle Violence Connection are set to clash in an epic tag team encounter. This is the first ever tag team main event on Saturday Night since the launch of The Premier League in 1992.
Both teams are hungry for victory tonight. Steamboat and Williams have shown incredible resilience since their relegation from the Premier League, while Liger and Gordy are looking to prove themselves to be in the same league as their partners. This match could steal the show and redefine the landscape of the tag team division.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match begins with a fast-paced exchange of strikes and holds, showcasing the contrasting styles of Thunder Dragon and The Miracle Violence Connection. Steamboat and Liger utilize their speed and agility to gain an early advantage, keeping Williams and Gordy off-balance with rapid tags and innovative double-team maneuvers. As the match progresses, Williams and Gordy assert their dominance, utilizing their strength to ground Steamboat and Liger. The Miracle Violence Connection targets Liger's high-flying offense, isolating him in their corner and wearing him down with relentless power moves. Despite the onslaught, Thunder Dragon refuses to back down, fighting back with resiliency and strategic counters.

Jushin Liger attempts a daring moonsault from the top rope, aiming to shift the momentum in Thunder Dragon's favor. However, Steve Williams intercepts Liger mid-air, seamlessly transitioning into an ankle lock submission. Liger, trapped in the debilitating hold, succumbs to the pain and reluctantly taps out, securing the victory for The Miracle Violence Connection.

Miracle Violence Connection celebrates their hard-fought win. Williams and Gordy stand tall in the ring, showcasing their dominance in the tag team division. Meanwhile, Steamboat checks on Liger, offering words of encouragement despite the defeat. Thunder Dragon exits the ring, visibly disappointed but determined to bounce back stronger.

Miracle Violence Connection (3-1-1) defeated Thunder Dragon (3-1-1) in 18:05 by way of submission when Jushin Liger tapped out to Steve Williams. This was the first tag team encounter between the two teams. Steve Williams improves to 2-0-1 against Ricky Steamboat all time.

Replays are shown of the finishes from the night, followed by the updated leaderboards for WCW’s Grand Prix. Standing by for analysis is the team of Harley Race, Magnum TA, and Paul E Dangerously.

m7hmEdg.jpg
What a main event! WCW afforded the tag team division an opportunity to steal the show in the main event slot, and the four men rose to the occasion! The Miracle Violence Connection walk away with a massive victory, handing Thunder Dragon their first loss as a unit! Magnum, do us the honours of awarding this week’s $10,000 MVP bonus.
Thank you, Harley. Despite coming up short tonight, the bonus is being awarded to Ricky Steamboat for continuing to prove he is one of the most exciting wrestlers in the world today. Many wrestlers would take a demotion out of the Premier League as a negative, but Steamboat has flourished, and helped bring the tag team division to the forefront of WCW.
3wSc89I.jpg
I hate to agree with the sentiment of giving losers a consolation prize, but I gotta admit that the main event proved to be worthy of it's spot, and a large factor of that is based on how good Ricky is inside those ropes. But we gotta acknowledge the other man who fell from the Premier League and has stepped up - Dr. Death earned the victory tonight for his team and proved that The Miracle Violence Connection is quite possibly the toughest unit in wrestling today.
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
Well folks, next week we wrap up Round 5 and conclude the first third of our 1994 season. Lex Luger takes on Powerhouse Simmons as Luger attempts to assert himself as the top dog in WCW atop the rankings. And Ric Flair takes on Dustin Rhodes is a family affair.
It’s bound to be an exciting night, that is for sure. Thank you gentlemen again, for allowing me to be a part of the booth tonight!
3wSc89I.jpg
Anything to keep Dusty away! I hear he’ll be at ringside next week for his kid’s big match, so we’ll need a guest host again! That’s all the time we have this week, folks. Thank you as always for tuning in to WCW Saturday Night, the home of professional wrestling’s premier competition.

Ric Flair vs Dustin Rhodes
Nobuhiko Takada vs Cactus Jack
Lex Luger vs Powerhouse Simmons
Tom Zenk vs Kevin Sullivan
Scotty Flamingo vs Larry Zbyzsko
The Journeymen vs True Grit

SYNOPSIS

Djh5CWO.jpg

It's time for the final night of Round 5, marking a third of completion on the 1994 season!

After the tag team division stole the show with an amazing main event this week, The Journeymen and True Grit square off in the sole tag team match on the next WCW Saturday Night. True Grit is off to a good start to the season with a positive record and looks to continue their winning ways with their rough and gritty style. Can the two teams keep the momentum of the tag team division at it's current level? During their sole previous encounter, True Grit walked away victorious - can The Journeymen gain a measure of revenge and course correct their current trajectory?

Meanwhile, in Division Two action, the winless Tom Zenk looks to find some measure of direction as he squares off against 'Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan. Ever since he was betrayed by his former partner Brian Pillman, Zenk has been in a downward spiral. And now, he squares off against a master manipulator in Kevin Sullivan. Can Zenk begin to find his footing, or will Sullivan take advantage of the vulnerable state that Zenk is in? Plus 'The South Atlantic Saviour' Scotty Flamingo looks to extend his undefeated start and move into sole possession of first place in Division Two as he squares off against Larry Zbyzsko. Flamingo Corp has been red hot as of late, buying their way up the ladder. Will Scotty buy himself another victory? His opponent, Larry, has seen it all in his 21 year career. If anyone can outwit the ways of Flamingo Corp, it may just be The Cruncher.

And then, in the Premier League, Lex Luger looks to put himself back at the top of The Premier League as he squares off against his former rival, Powerhouse Simmons. Luger has been at the top of The Premier League since it's inception and is looking to capture his first Grand Prix championship crown this year. Standing across from him though has been one of his biggest adversaries. In their two previous matches within the Grand Prix, neither man has been able to secure a victory. Two twenty minute draws, tons of controversy, and a lot of bad blood. While it seems as though that heat has subsided between the two, could match number three stir old feelings, or will one man finally rise above the other? Also in the Premier League, Cactus Jack looks to find his first victory, but he's got a huge task in front of him when he squares off against the leader of Player Enterprises, Nobuhiko Takada. Takada has taken down giants and owns one of the greatest records in WCW. Will Jack become just another statistic, or can the unorthodox man from Truth or Consquences with the ballistic style drag Takada into his world and steal a victory?

And finally, it’s our main event! In a feud that extends to the previous generation, Ric Flair takes on the son of one of his greatest rivals, Dustin Rhodes. The lead up to this match has exposed Dustin as lost, as the winless youngster becomes more and more absorbed within the shadow as his father. Is Dustin's heart still in this competition? And even if it is, does he even stand a chance against a bonafide legend in Ric Flair? Dustin has everything in the world to prove as the youngest competitor in WCW Premier League history, and a win over a legend may just be the first step he takes in stepping out from the shadow of his father. These two men may not currently be in the running for the top spot of the Premier League, but the heart of this contest adds a world of importance. All this and so much more, next week on WCW Saturday Night!

It’s April 1994, and WCW is hailing from the Dallas Texas! WCW Saturday Night is brought to you by Pink Dream, the official soft drink of WCW. After an intro video of WCW’s Premier League, the camera’s take us inside WCW’s neon-lit blue and pink studios where we are standing by with the WCW Analysis Team, Harley Race and Paul E Dangerously. And tonight… they are joined by a special guest.

m7hmEdg.jpg
Boys and girls, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to WCW Saturday Night! It’s great to be here in the home state of the Rhodes family, and the home down of the chosen son, the hero of tonight’s main event, Dustin Rhodes! I’m joined by Paul E Dangerously as usual, and stepping in for Dusty is the reigning champion, Rick Rude! Gentlemen, I know there is a little bit of history between you two, so let’s try and stay professional!
Harley, put some mustard on that intro, why don’t you? I’m the reigning, defending, ‘Ravishing Ruler of the World’ Rick Rude, the biggest star in all of professional wrestling. And tonight, we witness some of the chumps of the Premier League make their claims at why they even belong in the same ring as me. But you don’t gotta worry about Paul and I bickering. We’re cool. Or at least I am, I went on to greatness and he’s still got a job!
mmdop1m.jpg
…Yeah, thanks champ… I’ll say this though. Before we get to the main event, we have two killer Premier League matches. Cactus Jack and Nobuhiko Takada collide in a sick opening contest that I don’t see either man walking away unscathed from. And then, it’s Luger and Simmons reigniting a rivalry that I personally hope neither man walks away from!
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
And in our main event - It’s ‘The Man’ Ric Flair taking on the son of one of his greatest rivals when he squares off against ‘Lonestar’ Dustin Rhodes… Now, there has been a lot of tension with this main event as Dustin’s emotional frame of mind has come to light - he feels that he is living in the shadow of his father. Do you guys think he can step out of that shadow tonight?
No. There’s just too much shadow to step out from. Simply put, Dusty is way too round.
mmdop1m.jpg
Haha! Maybe I can get on board with the champ being a part of our crew! Yeah, I don’t see it happening either. Dustin hasn’t scored a single point yet in the Premier League and I don’t see him starting here. The only way he would have a worse chance was if he let his daddy fight in his place tonight!
HwXAX8e.jpg

The cameras are rolling in the arena and we go down to the ramp for our first contest of the night!

PzJCc3U.jpeg

The opening contest of the evening features a clash in the Premier League as Cactus Jack enters the arena with his trademark intensity, ready to secure his first victory in the tournament. Across the ring stands the formidable leader of Player Enterprises, Nobuhiko Takada, accompanied by his entourage of Teddy Long, Bam Bam Bigelow and Terry Taylor. Takada exudes confidence, backed by an impressive winning record in WCW. Cactus Jack, known for his unorthodox and high-risk style, aims to disrupt Takada's dominance and secure a crucial win.

Nobuhiko Takada has been unstoppable in the Premier League, showcasing his mastery of submission-based techniques and strategic prowess. Cactus Jack, on the other hand, brings an element of unpredictability and sheer determination to every match. Can Jack find a way to outmaneuver Takada, or will the leader of Player Enterprises continue his dominant run?
1JITbbY.jpg
The match kicks off with Cactus Jack taking the fight to Takada, catching the Japanese submission specialist off guard with his aggressive brawling style. Jack and Takada brawl throughout the arena, utilizing the environment to their advantage in a chaotic display. Despite Jack's unrelenting assault, Takada begins to assert control, using his technical prowess to gain the upper hand.

As the match progresses, Takada demonstrates his mastery of positioning and submission holds, gradually wearing down Cactus Jack. Takada executes a series of precision strikes and calculated maneuvers, ultimately locking in a devastating submission hold. Refusing to tap out, Cactus Jack succumbs to the relentless pressure, leading to a referee stoppage as Takada secures the victory.

Following the match, Cactus Jack protests the referee's decision, arguing that he did not submit. Referee Nick Patrick maintains his decision, declaring Takada the winner by stoppage. Takada and Player Enterprises celebrate their triumph, while Cactus Jack is left frustrated and defiant in defeat.

Nobuhiko Takada (4-1-0) defeated Cactus Jack (0-5-0) in 14:41 by way of submission. Takada improves to 2-0-0 against Cactus Jack all time.

In Division Two action, the struggling 'Z-Man' Tom Zenk enters the arena, looking to turn his fortunes around after a series of losses. Zenk, still directionless since being betrayed by former partner Brian Pillman, seeks redemption against the sinister 'Taskmaster' Kevin Sullivan, a cunning strategist known for his mind games. With Missy Hyatt at ringside, Sullivan plans to exploit Zenk's vulnerability. Can Zenk overcome Sullivan's psychological warfare and secure a much-needed victory?

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Tonight, Tom Zenk faces an uphill battle against the devious Taskmaster Kevin Sullivan. Zenk's been in a slump lately, and Sullivan is the last opponent you want to face when you're down on your luck. Can Zenk dig deep and find the resolve to overcome Sullivan's mind games?
Tom Zenk is at a crossroads in his career, struggling to regain momentum after the fallout with Brian Pillman. But at some point, the dude has got to move on! Kevin Sullivan, on the other hand, thrives on chaos and manipulation. This match will test Zenk's resilience against Sullivan's psychological warfare.
1JITbbY.jpg
From the opening bell, Kevin Sullivan employs psychological tactics, taunting and unsettling Zenk. Sullivan's mind games disrupt Zenk's focus, leading to a series of missteps from the struggling competitor. Missy Hyatt's presence at ringside adds to Zenk's distractions, further fueling Sullivan's advantage.

As the match progresses, Sullivan capitalizes on Zenk's faltering confidence, dominating the contest with calculated strikes and submission holds. Despite Zenk's attempts to rally, Sullivan maintains control, methodically wearing down his opponent. Finally, Sullivan executes his devastating finisher, the Devil's Stomp, leaving Zenk incapacitated in the center of the ring for the 3 count.

Following the match, Kevin Sullivan revels in his victory, basking in the psychological defeat of Tom Zenk. Missy Hyatt joins Sullivan in the ring, applauding his manipulation tactics. Meanwhile, Zenk struggles to recover, visibly frustrated and disheartened by yet another loss.

Kevin Sullivan (4-1-0) defeated Tom Zenk (0-5-0) in 12:42 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever encounter.

We go backstage to a set designated for Gary Hart, who is standing by reporting on the results of WCW World Wide from earlier this week, while results from Friday Night’s B-show, WCW Main Event, scrolls on the bottom of the screen.

ZPkCtDG.jpg
Over on WCW World Wide this Tuesday, in Division Two Tully Blanchard improved to 3-1-1 when he defeated Butch Reed (0-5-0). And in tag team action, The Samoan Swat Team (2-3-0) defeated The Young Pistols (1-4-0). Plus, Bobby Eaton won another ‘Eaton Open’ when he defeated Robert Gibson.

Gary is then joined by Misawa and Michael Hayes, and they hype their opening contest of Round 6 over on WCW World Wide next week. Shane Douglas mocks Misawa, saying that the Freebird is going to send him packing back to Japan.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the Danger Zone! I'm your host, Paul E Dangerously, and tonight we're diving into the heart of WCW Premier League action. Joining me in the studio are two fierce competitors who are set to collide next week in Round Six of the tournament. On one side, we have the Beast from the East, Bam Bam Bigelow! And on the other, the seasoned veteran 'Double A' Arn Anderson! This matchup is crucial for both men as they look to break their losing streaks. Bam Bam, let's start with you. What are your thoughts heading into your showdown with Arn Anderson?
Paul, let me make one thing clear. Arn Anderson may think he's got what it takes to stop me, but I'm the Beast from the East, and I'm not backing down from anyone. Arn, you've been riding on reputation for too long. It's time for Bam Bam Bigelow to show you who the real powerhouse is in WCW!
jiD6lIp.jpg” width=
HwXAX8e.jpg
Strong words, Bam Bam. Now, Arn, how do you respond to Bam Bam's challenge?
Well, Paul, Bam Bam likes to talk a big game, but actions speak louder than words. You may be the Beast from the East, Bam Bam, but I've been around the block a few times. Let me ask you this, though. How does it feel to be playing second fiddle to Nobuhiko Takada within Players Enterprise? Are you just another muscle for hire, or do you have what it takes to step out of the shadows and make a name for yourself? You see, I know what it’s like to be in the shadow of someone else and as long as you are in that shadow, you will never have the confidence or ability to defeat me, much less become a champion!
7Au1NKJ.jpg” width=
HwXAX8e.jpg
There you have it, folks! The Danger Zone is hyped up for the clash between Bam Bam Bigelow and Arn Anderson in Round Six of the Premier League. Don't miss this high-stakes showdown, and remember to stay dangerous!

The Premier League matchup is set between two longtime rivals, Lex Luger and Ron Simmons. Luger, boasting an impressive undefeated record in the Grand Prix, seeks to solidify his position at the top against Simmons, a powerhouse competitor looking to climb the rankings. Both men have a history of intense matches and draws in previous encounters, adding to the anticipation of their third showdown.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Lex Luger and Ron Simmons have a storied history in WCW, and tonight's match is no exception. These two competitors have battled to draws in the past, but I believe that tonight, one of them will emerge victorious and make a statement in the Premier League.
Lex Luger has been dominant in the Premier League, but he has never been able to defeat Simmons. Simmons has been the kryptonite of Luger historically!
1JITbbY.jpg
As the match kicks off, both Luger and Simmons showcase their strength and agility, with the history between them setting the stage for a hard-hitting contest. Referee Randy Anderson plays a crucial role, keeping a close eye on the action as both competitors push the boundaries within the 20-minute time limit. Luger's technical prowess contrasts with Simmons' raw power, creating a dynamic back-and-forth exchange that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats.

In the closing moments of the match, Ron Simmons gains the upper hand and executes a devastating move that sends Lex Luger crashing through the timekeeper's table at ringside. With the clock ticking down, Simmons attempts to secure a countout victory. However, Luger summons his resilience and manages to crawl back into the ring just before the referee's 10-count. Seizing the opportunity, Luger turns the tables on Simmons, locking in his signature Torture Rack submission hold. Simmons, unable to withstand the pain, taps out, giving Luger the hard-fought victory.

After the match, a display of mutual respect unfolds as Lex Luger and Ron Simmons shake hands in the center of the ring. The crowd applauds the sportsmanship between the two competitors, acknowledging their history and the intensity of their rivalry. Luger's victory propels him further up the Premier League rankings, positioning him as a top contender for the Grand Prix championship crown.

Lex Luger (5-0-0) defeated Ron Simmons (1-3-1) in 19:18 by way of submission. After two previous draws, Lex Luger ends the stalemate between the two with his first win over Simmons.

Keep an eye on the dynamics between Al Snow and Chris Adams, as Adams has been outshined by his protege recently.
True Grit has been on a roll lately, utilizing their no-nonsense approach to secure victories. The Journeymen, led by the experienced Chris Adams and the emerging Al Snow, are looking to rebound from setbacks and assert themselves in the tag team division. This match could be pivotal for both teams' standings.

3wSc89I.jpg
Folks, welcome to Inside the Squared Circle. We have a special segment tonight, as we are making a major announcement on behalf of the WCW family. Starting in 1995, WCW’s Main Event will become the home of Division Three! Division Three will be compromised of the top talents from WCW’s subsidiaries as they compete to join WCW’s main roster!
Now, normally I am critical of WCW management’s decision making, but this is something that makes sense to me - something that I applaud for a change! Four wrestlers from the Power Plant, four from Canada, four from Japan, and the four talents demoted from Division Two. What really gets to me is that they will also simultaneously compete in the subsidiaries in one of the most gruelling schedules wrestling has to offer!
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Hmmm, yes. Aptly named by WCW Chief Operating Officer Eric Bischoff, ‘The Grind’, Division Three athletes will be subject to a 15 match schedule on WCW Main Event on top of their international schedule in the lower divisions. Bischoff states that the road to the top is meant to ensure only the greatest talents in wrestling make it to the top of the world. Getting to the top of the wrestling world is hard enough as it is, but this may just put some wrestlers off of their journey due to the added risk of injury.
Please… If they want an easier path to the top, they can go compete in the North. If they can’t make it through ‘The Grind’ then they just don’t have what it takes! Wrestlers today are getting soft and this will keep them in line. Back in the territory days, you wrestled 300 days out of the year, and spent the other 60 days on the road to your next show!
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Nonetheless, this latest evolution in WCW’s road to glory only serves to provide it’s fanbase with visibility on a larger variety of wrestlers and ensure that the best in the world compete here. Bischoff has stated that more information on ‘The Grind’ will come later this season… Sorry, we have a commotion backstage - we have to send it to the camera’s in the back!

PWFG Round 7, Card 2, featuring Hans Nijman vs Masakatsu Funaki | LPWA Round 6, Card 2, featuring Akira Hokuto vs Judy Martin | SSW Round 8, Card 1, featuring El Dandy vs Jerry Lynn | W4WA Round 8, Card 2, featuring Owen Hart vs Danny Davis

Tony and JR pivot urgently to an apparent commotion backstage. Diamond Dallas Page is shown down on the parking lot cement as The Diamond Doll screams for help. ‘Sugar’ Stan Hansen is then shown as the perpetrator, pleased by his actions. He tells the camera that he’s coming for Hulk Hogan! Hogan enters the parking lot as attendants and security get in-between them and tend to Page. Hogan shouts at Hansen.

In WCW's Premier League, anticipation is building for a blockbuster showdown between two iconic babyfaces, The Great Muta (1-2-2) and Sting (4-0-1). Despite their history of feuds, Muta has recently turned face, leading to a temporary alliance with Sting. However, their friendship will be put to the test as they face off in the ring next week. Sting remains undefeated this season, showcasing his dominance, while Muta seeks to prove himself after a mixed start

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Sting-san, I respect you, my friend. We have fought many battles in the past, but now we stand together in the light. However, there is darkness that looms on the horizon. You are distracted by the ego of Hulkamania and the failure of trust will spread. But he must not deceive you, distract you. We must focus on our match, Sting-san. No more distractions, no more doubts. The Poison Mist will be the only thing blinding your judgment next week. Let us show the world the power of honor and respect in the ring.
Muta, my friend, I hear what you're saying about Hogan, but right now, I promise you my focus is on our match. I just… Hogan, you’ve pulled the wool over everyone else’s eyes - you’ve convinced the world you are the big hero. But I see through it - you are only there for yourself… Sorry, Muta - off topic…You’ve shown courage stepping into the light, and I respect that. But next week, it's about us, about the challenge in front of us. I've been on a roll, and nothing will distract me from proving myself in the Premier League. So let's bring our best, Muta. I know you want to prove yourself too, and I respect that. But when that bell rings, it's game on. May the best man win.

In Division Two action, 'The South Atlantic Saviour' Scotty Flamingo enters the arena, accompanied by his Flamingo Corp cohorts El Gigante, Haku, and Alexandra York. Flamingo aims to maintain his undefeated streak and secure sole possession of first place in Division Two. Across the ring stands the veteran Larry Zbyzsko, a crafty competitor with decades of experience. Zbyzsko is determined to outsmart Flamingo Corp's underhanded tactics and earn a crucial victory in the tournament.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Scotty Flamingo is making waves in Division Two, not just with his in-ring skills but with the support of Flamingo Corp. Larry Zbyzsko, however, is a ring general who knows every trick in the book. This matchup promises to be a battle of wits and wills.
Larry Zbyzsko is a seasoned veteran, a master strategist in the ring. Scotty Flamingo, on the other hand, relies on deception and corporate backing to gain an edge. It's experience versus cunning in this Division Two showdown.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match begins with Larry Zbyzsko taking control early, showcasing his technical prowess and ring intelligence. Zbyzsko targets Flamingo's weaknesses, exploiting his opponent's relative inexperience despite Flamingo's efforts to escape and evade. Flamingo Corp's interference on the outside adds to the tension, with El Gigante and Alexandra York creating distractions whenever Zbyzsko gains momentum.

As the match nears its conclusion, Flamingo struggles to counter Zbyzsko's relentless offense. Referee Jimmy Jett becomes preoccupied with Alexandra York's antics at ringside, allowing El Gigante to intervene. El Gigante delivers a devastating chokeslam to Zbyzsko behind the referee's back. With Zbyzsko incapacitated, Flamingo seizes the opportunity and scores the tainted victory.

Following the match, Scotty Flamingo celebrates his victory alongside El Gigante, Haku, and Alexandra York. Flamingo Corp revels in another underhanded triumph, solidifying Flamingo's position at the top of Division Two. Meanwhile, Larry Zbyzsko recovers in the ring, frustrated by the interference that cost him the match. Flamingo hands Schiavone and Ross a Pink Dream energy drink and writes a cheque to pay for the interference, tucking it into JR’s pocket and telling him pass it along for him.

Scotty Flamingo (5-0-0) defeated Larry Zbyszko (1-4-0) in 17:17 by way of pin fall following interference from El Gigante. This was their first ever encounter.

Before the competitors make their entrance, a special video package of Dustin Rhodes airs. It showcases him as a pure underdog that is unsure of himself. He’s training under the Texas sun…

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Tonight, the weight of the world rest on Dustin’s shoulders. He’s facing one of his father’s greatest rivals and more importantly I think, he faces his own insecurities. As we’ve neared this match, we’ve learned something about young Dustin… He’s got a lot of soul and emotion inside of him.
You got that right, Jim! And while the focus has been on Dustin’s own personal struggles, it be foolish not to mention that his opponent, Ric Flair, is one of the greatest to ever lace up a pair of wrestling boots. I think Dustin has built this up too much in his own head and may be nearing a personal collapse.
1JITbbY.jpg
Dustin comes out first and is accompanied by his father and Barry. They pose on the stage and give Dustin morale support, when The Four Horsemen enter early and attack on the ramp! Gilbert and Windham brawl into the crowd while Pillman and Austin beat on Dusty! Flair gouges Dustin’s eyes and then proceeds to bounce his head off of everything on route to the ring. Dustin’s bleach blonde hair is coated in blood as he enters the ring and Randy Anderson asks if he still wants to compete, and the bell rings to start the match.

Flair continues to work over Dustin, hitting a sick piledriver that Dustin barely kicks out of early. A ringside, Dusty overcomes Pillman and Austin and returns to the ring to support his son. Dustin’s a bloody mess as he starts to fight back. They spill to the outside again and Dusty and Ric argue, allowing Dustin to send Ric face first into the ring post. Both men are leaking now!

Back in the ring, Flair takes advantage of a distraction and hits a chop block on Dustin, and then locks on the Figure Four. Dustin nearly passes out, but rises to a seated position and punches his way out of the hold. Brawling continues outside. Dusty gets up on the apron and Flair mocks him. Dustin grabs Flair from behind in a headlock, his eyes open wide, and he hits the Running Bulldog! Dustin wins!!

Dusty and Barry join the bloody Dustin in the ring and celebrate his monumental victory. Dusty hogs the camera as he taunts Flair. Flair is yelling at ringside as his cronies attempt to calm him down. Flair says this isn’t over. Dusty celebrates more as Barry tends to Dustin.

Dustin Rhodes (1-4-0) defeated Ric Flair (2-3-0) in 18:16 by way of pin fall. This was their first ever encounter.

Replays are shown of the finishes from the night, followed by the updated leaderboards for WCW’s Grand Prix. Standing by for analysis is the team of Harley Race, Rick Rude, and Paul E Dangerously.

m7hmEdg.jpg
He did it! The kid pulled off the impossible and defeated Ric Flair in front of the world! What an amazing main event! Where does Flair go from here? He looked furious after suffering the defeat!
I’ll tell you what, Harley. Dustin, he stole that victory… thanks to interference from his daddy. But it doesn’t matter - neither man is competition for ‘The Ruler of the World’, Ravishing Rick Rude! Flair proved that he's not at the top of his game, and Dusty proved he’s the same glory hog he always was.
mmdop1m.jpg
You got that right, Rick! Did you see Dusty, stealing the spotlight like he defeated Flair tonight? That fat old fart probably thinks he belongs in the ring still… But maybe he’s better suited trying his luck in the ring, rather than failing as a commissioner.
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
That’s enough of that, fellas. Let’s talk about our other big stories from tonight… Namely, that Lex Luger moved into sole ownership of the top spot in the Premier League. The dude has risen above the likes of Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and Sting and is proving to the world that he is possibly the best in the world today! Rude, do you want to do the honours of announcing the MVP for the week?
It’s me. I don't care that I didn’t wrestle this week, and neither does anyone else. The world is happy to just bear witness to their golden boy, the ravishing ruler of the world! I don’t need the cash, but WCW should be awarding me that bonus for bringing in the viewers even on what was supposed to be a night off! But, based on the technicality of this bonus going to someone who wrestled, WCW is obliged to award Nobuhiko Takada ‘first star’ for the week…
mmdop1m.jpg
You know, I could get used to you, Rick, joining us each week instead of that muppet Dusty, or that stooge Magnum. It was a real treat having you here tonight. I know we went our separate ways after the Dangerous Alliance ended, but I’m always rooting for you, champ! And to the WCW faithful, we’ll see you all next week for Round 6!

WCW’s theme plays as the show fades out.

Sting vs The Great Muta
Arn Anderson vs Bam Bam Bigelow
Scotty Flamingo vs Eddie Gilbert
Tully Blanchard vs Diamond Dallas Page
Samoan Swat Team vs Miracle Violence Connection
PS Lucha vs The Terrors

SYNOPSIS

KTmscH5.jpeg

Round 6 - the second third of the 94 season - kicks off this week!

In Division Two action, Tully Blanchard takes on Diamond Dallas Page with only a single point separating the two competitors. Tully has the advantage though in a multitude of ways - with the one point lead, the sole victory in their previous encounter... but perhaps most substantially, a lack of underlying injuries. We don't know the status of Page after the vicious beating he received at the hands of Stan Hansen this past week. Will Page even be able to compete, much less overcome the always competitive Tully Blanchard? Plus, 'The South Atlantic Savior' Scotty Flamingo looks to maintain his stranglehold over the Division when he squares off against 'The Hotstuff Horseman' Eddie Gilbert. Flamingo is undefeated, but those wins have been the result of hook and crook as his cronies, Stan Hansen, El Gigante, Haku and Alexandra York have served up victories on a silver platter for him. Will Flamingo continue to buy his way through the competition? Or will The Four Horsemen's Eddie Gilbert be the first to overcome the financial backing of Flamingo Corp?

In tag team action, we are still fresh off of the very first WCW Saturday Night main event to feature the tag team division and The Miracle Violence Connection (Steve Williams and Terry Gordy) are looking to build off of the momentum they've established in winning that historic event. They take on the always dangerous Samoan Swat Team (Samu and Fatu) in a first ever encounter that is sure to be a wild encounter. Which team will outlast the other? And then, two teams that have been having struggles as of late look to turn things around before the midway point of the season. PS Lucha (Solar and Blue Panther) started their inaugural run in WCW's tag team division with two straight victories, but have lost their last three. Meanwhile, The Terrors were one win away from a promotion at the end of last season, but the monumental collapse has rolled into a terrible run so far this season. Which team will find their footing and pick up the win in this intriguing first ever match-up.

Then, in Premier League action, Arn Anderson and Bam Bam Bigelow square off for the second time in their careers. Bigelow one the first encounter last season, but coming into this match Arn seems to have struck a nerve with Bigelow when he brought up that Bigelow is playing second fiddle to Takada in Player Enterprises. Will Bigelow's rage get the best of him? Or has Arn awoken a giant? Either way, these two tore it up when they squared off last time, and this is sure to be no different!

Finally, in our main event, Sting and The Great Muta square off one on one. The Ace of WCW stumbled in Round 5, unable to put away Stan Hansen and ultimately dropping his first points this season in a draw. Many are pointing to him being distracted by the belief that Hulk Hogan is untrustworthy. Muta insists that he wants to face a fully focused Sting and has tried to centre him, but are their cracks in The Stinger's game plan? These two men have a storied history as enemies - this week will be the first time their square off as allies.

It’s April 1994, and WCW is hailing from the Omni Coliseum in Atlanta Georgia! And tonight… they are joined by a special guest.

m7hmEdg.jpg
Hello ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to WCW Saturday Night! We are live in Atlanta to start Round 6 of the Grand Prix, with two massive Premier Leagues on the card tonight. Our guest tonight filling in for Dusty Rhodes on the Panel is Cactus Jack! Cactus, it’s a pleasure to have you here tonight! Putting you on the spot right off the bat, who do you got in tonight’s main event between Sting and The Great Muta?
Yeeowww! Throwing me right into the hot seat, why don’t you, Harley? Sting and Muta is tonight’s main event and I’ve gone to brutal wars with both of them in the past couple months, but I’ve come up short against both of them. And quite frankly, the defeats are eating away at me. Tonight, I hope both men beat each other senseless and leaves each other in a pool of their own blood, ending in a no contest. That’s my call, and I’m sticking to it! Bang Bang!
RTxlFij.jpeg
You and me both, senior Jack. I don’t know about you Harley, but I’m loving this trend of guests instead of having to sit with that fat oaf Dusty… As for tonight’s main event - while I’d love to say that Jack’s prediction is going to come true, I would be remiss in not providing my expert opinion… Sting’s head isn’t in the game right now. He’s distracted and wrapped up in a personal struggle with Hulk Hogan. You cannot step into the ring with Muta distracted. The dude is going to end him tonight.
HwXAX8e.jpg
m7hmEdg.jpg
That’s a very good point, Paul. Muta is one of the best in the world, and it’s scary to think that he won’t even need his Poison Mist to blind Sting from the match at hand. But before we get there, we kick things off with Arn Anderson and Bam Bam Bigelow. Cactus, both of these men only have one win so far (which is one more than you) - who do you think picks up their second win in tonight’s opener.
Hahaha Harley. You think this is a joke to me? You think I’m a joke? I had 20 Grand Prix wins prior to joining the Premier League and next week I hit blackjack when I square off against the son of the man I’m covering for tonight. Bigelow and Anderson? Who cares! I’m making a comeback and they’ll both fall to me in the end.
RTxlFij.jpeg
You tell him, Cactus. I hope that you send Dustin to a hospital bed, and Poppa Rhodes has to stay by his bedside for a few weeks - would give me an extended break from him here at the panel! Well, let’s get to it, folks!
HwXAX8e.jpg

The cameras are rolling in the arena and we go down to the ramp for our first contest of the night!

PzJCc3U.jpeg

Arn Anderson enters the arena to a raucous reception from the crowd, embodying the spirit of resilience and determination. Across the ring, Bam Bam Bigelow strides in with an intense aura, fueled by recent provocations from Arn questioning his role within Player Enterprises. Bigelow, flanked by his stablemates Terry Taylor, Teddy Long, and Nobuhiko Takada, looks poised to unleash his fury on Arn in retaliation.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Bam Bam Bigelow's frustration seems to be reaching a boiling point, and Arn Anderson's comments have only added fuel to the fire. This promises to be a hard-hitting battle between two competitors with everything to prove.
Arn Anderson has shown incredible resilience despite his record, and tonight he faces a fired-up Bam Bam Bigelow. How will Takada react if Bigelow fails to pick up the win here?
1JITbbY.jpg
The match begins with Bam Bam Bigelow asserting dominance, unleashing a relentless onslaught on Arn Anderson. Bigelow, driven by anger and determination, overwhelms Arn with his raw power and aggressive offense. Arn, known for his tactical approach, utilizes cunning maneuvers to weather the storm and capitalize on Bigelow's recklessness. As the intensity escalates, the audience is treated to a back-and-forth struggle, showcasing the contrasting styles of both competitors.

In a surprising turn of events, Arn Anderson seizes an opening during Bigelow's relentless assault, executing a quick roll-up maneuver to secure a victory. Despite Bigelow's dominance throughout the match, his focus on punishment over pinfall ultimately proves to be his downfall. Arn's strategic maneuver catches Bigelow off guard, earning him a hard-fought win and a crucial boost in the Premier League rankings.

After the bell rings, Arn Anderson celebrates his victory with the crowd, showcasing his trademark resilience and cunning in the face of adversity. Bam Bam Bigelow, visibly frustrated and incensed by the loss, lashes out at ringside, shoving away his stablemates in a fit of rage. Takada is shown shaking his head in disapproval.

Arn Anderson (2-4-0) defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (1-4-1) in 15:51 by way of flash pin fall. Anderson ties up the all-time head-to-head, one win each.

PzJCc3U.jpeg

In Division Two action, Scotty Flamingo enters the arena backed by his cronies—Stan Hansen, El Gigante, Haku, and Alexandra York—as he aims to extend his undefeated streak. His opponents, The Four Horsemen's Eddie Gilbert, prepares to face Flamingo's underhanded tactics alone. The tension is high as Flamingo's dominance clashes with Gilbert's resilience and determination. Before the match, an amusing encounter occurs between Gilbert and a masked fan holding balloons in the front row, setting the stage for some tomfoolery.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Scotty Flamingo has been unstoppable in Division Two as he’s cheated his way through the first 5 rounds, but tonight he faces Eddie Gilbert—an equally slimy character. Gilbert's determination to overcome Flamingo's cronies will be a key factor in this matchup.
Eddie Gilbert faces an uphill battle against Scotty Flamingo and his entourage tonight. Can Gilbert withstand the odds and be the first to put a dent in Flamingo's perfect record?
1JITbbY.jpg
The match kicks off with a brutal brawl, Flamingo utilizing his cronies to gain an advantage over Gilbert. Referee Jimmy Jett takes an early bump, allowing both heels to introduce foreign objects, turning the bout into a hardcore affair. Flamingo Corp's interference intensifies, creating a chaotic environment in the ring. Flamingo showcases his in-ring skills, delivering punishing maneuvers on Gilbert, who fights back valiantly despite the overwhelming odds stacked against him. JR and Schiavone give credit where it’s due, this is the absolute best Flamingo has looked in the ring to date, clearly in his element with the plunder.

Flamingo gains the upper hand, inflicting severe punishment on Gilbert, who is left bloodied and battered. Flamingo's cocky demeanor leads to a critical mistake when he taunts the masked fan at ringside. Unexpectedly, the fan pops balloons filled with chalky powder into Flamingo's face, blinding him momentarily. Gilbert capitalizes on this opening, executing a decisive pinfall victory over Flamingo.

The masked fan removes his disguise, revealing himself to be Matt Borne, sporting cracked clown makeup—a former member of Scotty Flamingo's stable over a year ago. Borne's appearance raises questions about his motives and his connection to Flamingo. The post-match scene leaves the audience speculating on Borne's return and his potential impact on Flamingo's future matches. Security escorts ‘Doink’ out of the arena and Flamingo is fuming in the ring!

Eddie Gilbert (3-2-1) defeated Scotty Flamingo (5-1-0) in 14:35 by submission after a distraction! This was their first ever encounter.

We go backstage to a set designated for Gary Hart, who is standing by reporting on the results of WCW World Wide from earlier this week, while results from Friday Night’s B-show, WCW Main Event, scrolls on the bottom of the screen.

ZPkCtDG.jpg
Over on WCW World Wide this Tuesday, in Division Two Mitsuharua Misawa (4-1-1) defeated Michael Hayes (1-5-0) and in Tag Team action, Thunder Dragon (4-1-1) defeated Rock N Roll Express (1-5-0).

WCW Main Event #112 : Kid Kash & Richard Charland def. Rob Van Dam & Canadian Tiger | Sudden Impact def. Robbie Brookside & Chaz Taylor | La Parka & Harlem Heat def. Marquis Bagwell & The International Sex Pistols

Gary is about to announce next week’s matches for WCW World Wide, when Stan Hansen barges in and intimidates him. Stan rips the microphone out of Garys hands and berates Hulk Hogan before talking about leaving DDP lying in a pool of that sticky sweet blood last week. Hansen wonders whether his boy can even go this week, before denouncing that DDP was just an appetizer. Stan will satiate his bloodlust once he gets in the ring and the gallons of Immortal blood spills freely. Stan’s unhinged.

Welcome, wrestling aficionados, to the Danger Zone! I'm your host, Paul E Dangerously, and tonight we've got an explosive episode lined up. Joining me in the studio are two powerhouse competitors who are set to clash in a crucial tag team matchup. On one side, we have the imposing Kevin Nash! And on the other, the powerhouse 'American Muscle' Scott Steiner! These two teams are tied in the standings, battling for supremacy near the top of the tag team division. But before we get into that, let's talk about the elephant in the room—your partners' injuries. Kevin, how are you and Scott Hall preparing for this matchup given his fractured cheekbone?
Paul, injuries are part of the game, but Scott Hall and I are a force to be reckoned with. Sure, Hall might be banged up, but that won't stop us from taking down the Steiners. We've got a game plan, and nothing is going to stand in our way. Scott Steiner and his brother better be ready for a fight! Besides, we evened the playing field when I broken Rick’s nose this week on World Wide!

HwXAX8e.jpg
Strong words, Kevin. Now, Scott, how are you and Rick Steiner preparing for this matchup considering Rick's injury?
Paul, injuries happen, but my brother and I are warriors. Rick may not be at 100%, but we've faced tougher challenges before. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall are in for a rude awakening. We're bringing everything we've got, injury or not.

In Tag Team Division action, The Miracle Violence Connection, Steve Williams, and Terry Gordy make their entrance with an air of confidence, riding high from their recent victory in the historic WCW Saturday Night main event. They face off against the formidable Samoan Swat Team, consisting of Samu and Fatu, in what promises to be an intense encounter. The Samoan Swat Team is known for their dangerous headbutts, having inflicted career-ending damage on previous opponents. The atmosphere is charged as both teams prepare to showcase their power and resilience.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
This is a collision of two powerhouse tag teams. This match is bound to be an all-out war, with both teams known for their hard-hitting style.
Absolutely, Jim. Make no bones about it, these are four very bad men.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match begins with explosive energy as all four competitors unleash a flurry of hard-hitting strikes and power moves. Referee Mike Atkins struggles to maintain control as the action spills outside the ring, showcasing the raw intensity of both teams. Terry Gordy appears to suffer a potential injury from one of the Samoan Swat Team's trademark headbutts, adding a sense of urgency to the match. However, Steve Williams rallies, showcasing his resilience and determination to turn the tide in his team's favor.

Amidst the chaos, Steve Williams channels his fury into a dominant display, cleaning house and taking control of the match. Williams executes his signature move, the Doctor Bomb, on Fatu, securing the victory for The Miracle Violence Connection amidst a raucous crowd.

Following the match, The Miracle Violence Connection celebrates their hard-fought win in the ring, while the Samoan Swat Team regroups outside, visibly frustrated with the outcome.

Miracle Violence Connection (4-1-1) defeated Samoan Swat Team (2-4-0) in 15:49 by way of pin fall when Dr. Death pinned Fatu. This was the first encounter between these two teams. Terry Gordy holds a victory over the team from his time with The Fabulous Freebirds as well.

PS Lucha (Solar and Blue Panther) enter the arena with a determined look, aiming to reverse their recent losing streak. Their opponents, The Terrors (Dan Spivey and One Man Gang), appear focused yet agitated, eager to break their own string of losses and regain momentum. PS Lucha, known for their high-flying lucha libre style, face off against the power-based duo of The Terrors in a clash of contrasting wrestling styles.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Can the high-flying tactics and technician prowess of Solar and Blue Panther overcome the brute force of Dan Spivey and One Man Gang?
The Terrors have faced setbacks, but they possess a ruthless edge that could prove decisive against the agility and innovation of PS Lucha. Solar and Blue Panther will need to rely on their speed and technical prowess to outsmart their imposing opponents.
1JITbbY.jpg
The match kicks off with PS Lucha showcasing their unique lucha libre maneuvers, catching The Terrors off guard with their speed and agility. Solar and Blue Panther execute a series of dazzling aerial moves, frustrating Spivey and One Man Gang. The Terrors struggle to adapt to the unfamiliar style of their opponents, leading to mounting frustration within their ranks. Dan Spivey resorts to underhanded tactics to gain the upper hand, targeting Solar's vulnerable spots to turn the tide in their favor.

Solar works up to a hot tag to Blue Panther but OMG distracts Mike Atkins before Solar is able to and Atkins ends up kicking out Blue Panther incorrectly. Solar argues with the ref and behind his back Spivey hits Solar low and then rolls him up for the cheap win.

Following the match, The Terrors celebrate their controversial victory while PS Lucha regroups, visibly disappointed by the outcome. The defeat further compounds PS Lucha's struggles in the tag team division, while The Terrors relish their hard-fought win.

The Terrors (2-4-0) defeated PS Lucha (2-4-0) in 14:45 by way of pin fall when Dan Spivey pinned Solar. This was their first ever encounter.

3wSc89I.jpg
Tonight's episode featured a match between Eddie Gilbert and Scotty Flamingo that escalated into a chaotic scene of hardcore violence, outside interference, and the use of foreign objects, all occurring after referee Jimmy Jett was inadvertently incapacitated. It's situations like these that raise concerns about referee safety and match control. Referees play a critical role in maintaining order and enforcing rules, and they should be better protected to prevent such chaotic scenarios from unfolding in the ring.
Concerns about referee safety? Give me a break, Magnum. Referees sign up for this job knowing the risks involved. It's part of the gig. Besides, what's the harm in a little extra-curricular violence? It's entertaining! Fans tune in to see action-packed matches with unexpected twists and turns. If a referee takes a bump and can't maintain control, that's just another element of excitement added to the match. Referees get paid to do their job, and that includes keeping up with the action from bell to bell.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Jesse, I understand that wrestling is about entertainment, but we can't overlook the safety and integrity of the sport. Referees are essential in ensuring fair play and protecting the well-being of the competitors. When a referee is incapacitated, it opens the door to chaos and potential injury. We owe it to the referees and the wrestlers to prioritize safety and enforce rules to maintain the credibility of professional wrestling.
Safety? Credibility? Come on, Magnum. We're talking about professional wrestling here, not a game of hopscotch. Fans want excitement, drama, and unpredictability. If a match spills out of control due to a referee mishap, so be it. It adds to the spectacle and keeps viewers engaged. Referees are part of the show, and they understand the risks. Let's not take away the excitement of these intense moments for the sake of caution.
oOKr00n.jpg
3wSc89I.jpg
Well, Jesse, while we may have differing views on this issue, it's clear that the dynamics of wrestling officiating are complex. That’s all the time we have this week - I’m told that Gary Hart is standing by with Ric Flair and The Four Horsemen who wanted some time to speak on tonight’s broadcast.

LPWA Round 7, Card 1 : featuring Lioness Asuka versus Madusa | SSW Round 8, Card 2 : featuring David Sammartino versus Rikki Nelson | W4WA Round 9, Card 1 : featuring Rey Misterio Jr versus Buddy Landel | PWFG Round 8, Card 1 : featuring Minoru Suzuki versus 2 Cold Scorpio

Ric Flair, Steve Austin and Brian Pillman congratulate Eddie Gilbert on a hard fought win over Flamingo. Flair then turns his attention to the Rhodes family, calling last week’s match a farce and saying that baby boy Rhodes needed Daddy’s help to get the win. Flair wants to issue a challenge to his real rival. He wants Dusty to get back in the ring for Slamboree. 6 Man Tag Team match, Flair, Austin and Pillman against The Rhodes and Barry Windham.

The upcoming main event in WCW's Premier League division is a clash of titans between two undefeated competitors this season. Big Van Vader (3-0-2), the menacing powerhouse known for his destructive force and power metal-inspired promos, faces off against Lex Luger (5-0-0), the chiseled and determined gym enthusiast obsessed with personal perfection. Their previous encounters have been intense, with Luger holding an edge in wins and draws. Now, both men are on a mission to claim the top prize and become the Premier League champion, making this matchup a pivotal moment in their quest for glory.

Lex Luger, you stand before the true embodiment of power and destruction. While you prance around in your gym shorts, I leave behind scattered broken dreams in my wake. Your perfect physique means nothing when faced with pure might. This is not a contest of muscles; it's a battle of wills. Next week, I will prove once again why I am the force to be reckoned with in WCW. Prepare yourself for a world of pain and despair, Lex Luger, because when I'm done with you, your dreams will be shattered like glass.
ader, you call yourself a force? Look at you, a flabby mess compared to this perfection. I've dedicated my life to sculpting this body into a masterpiece, and next week, I'm going to use it to defeat you once and for all. Our history means nothing; it's all about the present, and right now, I'm on top. I've seen your type before, Vader, and they all fall at the feet of perfection. Get ready to experience true power, because when I'm through with you, everyone will know who the real champion is.

In Division Two action, the crowd is buzzing as Tully Blanchard steps into the ring to face Diamond Dallas Page, with just a single point separating these two competitors in the standings. Both men are respected babyfaces, with Page accompanied by the Diamond Doll and his pal Hulk Hogan, adding an extra layer of intrigue to this matchup. Hogan provides moral support to Page in the ring and is the focus of the camera.

This is a critical matchup in Division Two between Tully Blanchard and Diamond Dallas Page. Page is showing incredible resilience despite his recent injury, but Blanchard's experience could be the deciding factor tonight.
Diamond Dallas Page is fighting through the pain, facing off against Tully Blanchard in a must-win situation. The question begs, should DDP have accepted sitting out this match and living to fight another day?
1JITbbY.jpg
The bell rings, and the match begins with Tully Blanchard showing restraint in targeting Page's injured ribs. Page, fueled by adrenaline and determination, fights back against Blanchard's technical expertise. The Diamond Doll's presence at ringside provides moral support for Page, who struggles to maintain momentum against Blanchard's relentless offense. The crowd is split, cheering for both competitors as the match intensifies.

Tully locks in a brutal abdominal stretch, and the taping around DDPs ribs loosens and expose badly bruised muscle as the crowd gasps in awe. Hulk Hogan is screaming at DDP, willing him on to continue. Diamond Dallas Page summons his last reserves of energy, countering the move from Blanchard into his signature Diamond Cutter out of nowhere. The crowd erupts as Page covers Blanchard for the three-count, securing a hard-fought victory despite his injury.

Blanchard, stunned by the sudden turn of events, extends his hand in respect to Page, acknowledging his opponent's resilience and skill. Hogan jumps into the ring and celebrates with Page before beginning to help him to the back.

Diamond Dallas Page (4-2-0) defeated Tully Blanchard (3-2-1) in 14:40 by way of pin fall. DDP ties up the all-time head-to-head, one win each.

Sting, a fan favorite known for his charismatic energy and powerful presence, receives a thunderous ovation from the crowd. Across the ring, The Great Muta enters with an enigmatic aura, showcasing his unique and mysterious persona. Both competitors are revered as icons of WCW, and their showdown promises to be a clash of legends.

Yw8oqxT.jpg
Sting and The Great Muta are two of the most electrifying competitors in WCW history, and their encounter tonight is bound to be a highlight of the season. Expect fireworks in this battle of former foes turned allies. I just hope that Sting can keep his focus on the action inside of the ring!
Sting and Muta have a history of animosity, but tonight they put their differences aside for a thrilling match-up. But if Sting can’t get his head in the game, Muta will exploit that tonight!
1JITbbY.jpg
Hogan stays at the top of the ramp before this one starts, causing Sting to be distracted and Muta to get mad at him, starting the match off with a slap to the face of Sting to get his attention to a huge pop. The match progresses with both Sting and Muta displaying their technical prowess and athleticism. The tension between them simmers beneath the surface, adding an extra layer of intensity to their exchanges. Sting's determination to prove himself and Muta's desire for focus and respect create a compelling narrative within the ring. The audience is treated to a back-and-forth contest as each wrestler seeks to gain the upper hand

In a dramatic conclusion, Sting attempts to deliver his signature Stinger Splash, but Muta evades at the last moment, showcasing his agility and ring awareness. Seizing the opportunity, Muta goes for his devastating Shining Wizard, only for Sting to counter with a quick pinning maneuver. The referee's hand hits the mat for the three-count, securing a hard-fought victory for Sting in a nail-biting finish.

Following the match, tensions remain high between Sting and Muta, reflecting the competitive nature of their encounter. Despite the animosity, both competitors show mutual respect by shaking hands in a display of sportsmanship.

Sting (5-0-1) defeated The Great Muta (1-3-2) in 17:44 by way of flash pin fall. This was the first encounter between these two within WCW’s Grand Prix.

I know I say this every week, but man, what an amazing main event here on WCW Saturday Night! Sting and Muta took each other to their limits tonight and Sting barely squeaked out the win. Plus we had that major Slamboree match announcement which will feature Dusty’s return to the ring! Cactus, give us your thoughts on tonight’s show.
Well Harley… I sure am glad that the focus for Dustin is his dads match and not his extremely important match against me next week. I hope Dustin thinks this return will just grow that shadow he’s trying to get out from underneath of, and he’s disheartened to the point where he’s easy pickings for me next week. I can’t believe you are asking me about his future match when he's got me next week to worry about!
RTxlFij.jpeg
And I can’t believe that Dusty is going to return to the ring! I hope Flair leaves him so emotionally destroyed that he walks away from the business altogether. But let’s talk about what happened tonight… Sting overcame his distractions even with Hulk Hogan at ringside, and managed to squeak out a win, but it was the least convincing win Sting has had in a long, long time. And speaking of unconvincing wins, Arn was demolished tonight, and stole a win against Bigelow.

m7hmEdg.jpg
You got that right, Paul. Plus, we saw Miracle Violence Connection put on yet another spectacular brawl in victory. That effort has earned ‘Dr. Death’ Steve Williams the MVP of the week bonus. And how about that brutal mess between Eddie Gilbert and Scotty Flamingo?
Now that, that was beautiful. Sometimes I wish that WCW would loosen up the rules around this place so that I could inflict the perverse pain that I want to… but I have got to say that this was the first time that I saw Scotty Flamingo as a worthwhile competitor. Who knew that he had that sort of violence inside of him?
RTxlFij.jpeg
Agreed. We frequently blast Flamingo for the blatant cheating and interference that mares his matches, and the asterisk that has been his first place ranking so far this season. Tonight however, Flamingo looked the part. I hope we get more of that Scotty as we go forward, especially if it extends how long we get free pink dream sodas! See you all next week, folks!

Lex Luger vs Big Van Vader
Cactus Jack vs Dustin Rhodes
Nobuhiko Takada vs Ric Flair
Dan Severn vs Kevin Von Erich
The Fantastics vs True Grit
The Classic Era vs The Horsemen

SYNOPSIS

7oO3jdk_d.webp?maxwidth=1520&fidelity=gr

WCW action continues this week on Saturday Night, with yet another loaded card!

In Division Two action, two of the top dogs in the division vie for a huge win that would put either man at the top of the division. Kevin Von Erich looks to unleash his vicious Barefoot Punt Kick to continue his winning ways, but he is going to have to contend with the always dominant Dan Severn. Severn's specialty is wearing his opponents down and keeping them grounded as he gets in position for a dangerous submission finish. If he can keep Von Erich grounded, then Von Erich won't be able to deploy his nasty Barefoot Punt Kick! But Kevin has an advantage of an extra 15 years of experience - will that be the advantage that pushes him to the top?

In tag team action, WCW Saturday Night will start off with the team of True Grit looking to continue their current roll as they take on The Fantastics. After weeks of Bobby Fulton playing defence for Tommy Rogers' injured shoulder, his efforts came crashing down in Round 5 when The Horsemen isolated Rogers and brutally assaulted him. Will Tommy be in good enough shape to bounce back, or will The Fantastics continue their losing woes? And speaking of the Horsemen, it's a major headlining match for the Tag Team Division as Austin and Pillman take on The Classic Era. The two teams are the only teams remaining with perfect records so far this season and this is sure to be a classic as they battle for sole possession of the top spot in the division. A major key to this match up will be whether Pillman and Austin can stay focused on the match at hand, as we are freshly removed from the announcement that they will compete alongside Ric Flair against the returning Dusty Rhodes at Slamboree! Plus, the always dangerous 'Kiwi Queen' Susan Sexton will be lurking at ringside to attempt to get The Classic Era any advantage they can muster up!

Then, in Premier League action, it's the Son of the Son of a Plumber - 'Lonestar' Dustin Rhodes - taking to the ring for the first time since his historic victory over Ric Flair. He has a dangerous Cactus Jack across the ring from him, and Jack has been made all the more dangerous by circumstance - the only competitor remaining in the Premier League without a victory on the season, Cactus Jack is a beast that has been backed into a corner. Will he capture his first win inside the Premier League, or will Dustin Rhodes capitalize on the momentum of his massive win? After all, surely he must feel as though he's no longer living in the shadow of his father? Or perhaps he's still focused on this budding rivalry with Ric Flair - who will also be in action on Saturday Night against the leader of Player Enterprises, 'Submission Supreme' Nobuhiko Takada. Flair's season so far has not gone as planned as he has slid down the rankings while Takada is looking more dangerous than ever and is nearing the top of the Premier League. When these two men squared off in 1993, they went the distance with no victor being decided. However, Ric Flair had the advantage as time expired, as he had his signature Figure Four locked in and Takada could not find an escape. With Flair in a rage over his recent defeat at the hands of Dustin Rhodes, will he find the aggression needed to lock in the Figure Four earlier and force Takada to tap? Or will Takada continue his run to the top of WCW?

Finally, in our Premier League main event, Lex Luger and Big Van Vader wage a war of the undefeated. Luger holds the all-time advantage against Vader with one win and their other contest having gone to a time limit draw. However, that win came via count-out and no true decisive advantage has emerged between these two men. Can Lex Luger hold on to his advantage, both over Vader and at the top of the Premier League? Or will his glory run become just another shattered dream along the warpath of Vader?
