Ieshia: It's pretty strange for you to call me here when we should be at L.A for Retribution. Surely everyone there is asking what the heck is going on.

Johnny: Easy, Ieshia. I already booked a flight for the two of us by nighttime. We are not going to miss Retribution as it's gonna be a very special night.

Ieshia: Special night? It's not even a go home show.

Johnny: Just listen to me, ok? I got a huge surprise for you. Consider this as a token of my appreciation of you as an employee and lieutenant for the AWF. 

Ieshia: This is fishy.

Johnny: Don't you trust your boss?

Ieshia: No.

Johnny: Harsh. Anyway, I'm making you the new owner of the AWF.

Ieshia: WHAT? Are you out of your mind?

Johnny: Yes, but that does not matter right now. I have been busy with other...endeavors lately. And I'm well aware of how respected and skilled you are at keeping things running at the company. So I'm stepping aside to reward you for your services and it will relieve my workload a little. Win-win.

Ieshia: I don't know. You love the AWF. Only something out of your control could make you relinquish ownership of the company with so little time from when you purchased it. Just tell the truth, Johnny!

Johnny: You know me. I grew up in a religious upbringing. I never tell lies. And to show that...

(Valleau opens a drawer under his desk and picks up some papers)

Johnny: Here is all the documentation of the company. Everything is already prepared and I checked all of it with my lawyers. All that is needed is your signature.

Ieshia: ...

Johnny: I'll even let you use my Timothy Hawk pen to sign.

Ieshia: You really keep a Timothy Hawk pen?

Johnny: Gotta value our product, you know. Here. take the pen.

Ieshia: (I cannot believe. I'm really gonna own the AWF. I've always dreamed of having my own wrestling promotion)

(Ieshia signs the documents)

Johnny: Perfect. How do you feel now, Ms. Owner of the AWF?

Ieshia: I'm...unsure of how to feel. I guess...good?

Johnny: I'll take that. Now, you can wait for me outside as I need to make some phone calls and soon, we will be off to LA.

Ieshia: Sure thing. 

(Ieshia leaves)

Johnny: (Heh. Now the AWF is safe. Those cassino guys can sue all they want, they won't take my baby.)

Company Overview



AWF has rebranded to a classic Sports Entertainment company this year, in the hopes that this will offer a wide appeal to a large and varied demographic. Developing a wide variety of storylines will aim to both keep existing fans engaged and attract new fans to continuously keep on tuning in each week.

As the third biggest company in America, AWF currently find themselves just creeping into the medium sized company territory, after being founded in 2005. Owned by superfan, millionaire businessman, Johnny Valleau, whom despite his millions, seems to always want to squeeze every last cent out of every dollar he puts to work.

Their main goals for 2021 will be to put the building blocks in place to lay a foundation catch up to their main rivals and largest wrestling company in the world, Pro Wrestling Integrity (PWI).



Schedule



A fairly standard 90 minute weekly TV show leads into a monthly PPV on the last day of each month, with the season finale Wrestlefest, ending the year in July.

Other events to make up the “big 4” include the Royal rumble style event called “Battle for Los Angeles” in March, The cage focused “Cage Rage” in June, finally rounding off the year with all the belts defended on the “Where champions Clash” December PPV.

We’ll make all events 3 hours, except the season finale “WrestleFest” which will be 4 hours.

I pretty much exclusively play performance>pop games, I'm not good enough at the actual booking to get anywhere with a Sports Entertainment fed. My main advice, for basically any Thunderverse game, is just shortlist Jamilia Rose though.

In Ring Opening Angle: Fireworks followed by the AWF intro music playing out welcomes the AWF fans in California into a new episode of AWF Retribution! Whilst the opening shots are taken of the display and hyped-up crowd, we hear the commentary team of Kyle Howard and Kitty Reardon welcome us to the show:



Kyle Howard: Welcome back, one and all, to the Awesome Wrestling Federation, and the first Retribution of the new year! I’m Kyle Howard and joining me in the commentary booth, as always, the ever-insightful Kitty Reardon!

Kitty Reardon: Thanks Kyle, it’s a pleasure as always. There is a real tangible excitement in the air here in AWF, as the new year presents both fresh opportunities and challenges for everyone to fight for!

Kyle Howard: Absolutely Kitty, something tells me that this year is going to be even more awesome than before! But first we’ll throw it down to the United States champion, Aaron Price!





United States Champion, Aaron Price, with the title proudly over his shoulder, makes his entrance to open the show. He is proud to enter the new year your United States champion.

Aaron Price: Whilst we’ve all faced challenges, here in this arena, or watching from home, we can all come together and overcome any obstacle because we are AWF, and together we are Priceless!



The music of N8 Omega interrupts to a chorus of boos, as the full of himself Omega makes his way into the arena. He highlights a triple threat number one contender’s match that he is involved with later tonight for a chance at Price’s title.

N8 Omega: This is the pe-pe-pe-perrrrrfect way for AWF to be represented by a true champion! as that rookie Eddy and that unhinged mess Jesse Mills, offer Price nothing but a longshot hope of you being challenged by anyone except the sure fire bet, N8 Omega! (60).



Match 1:



Atlas Lynn vs. Temerario

Match Details:

An athletic, back-and-forth encounter sees Atlas Lynn getting more and more desperate, as Temerario continues to fight through the barrage of offence, flipping the momentum with a Mystery Reveal (Inside cradle roll through into a twisting dropkick) leading to the three count.

Temerario defeated Atlas Lynn in 10:10 by pinfall with a Mystery Reveal (52).



Backstage Angle:



Ieshia nervously collects herself before letting a breath out and knocking on AWF owners Johnny Valleau door.

As the current manager of the Women’s division, Ieshia is prepared for her “Performance review”, although by the end of the conversation she is stunned as Valleau declares …

Johnny Valleau: Your constant drive for excellence has persuaded myself and the other board members to hand over the keys of the company, granting you full and complete ownership of AWF!

Whilst Valleau came across in the slimiest way possible, there is a steely resolve in Ieshia’s eyes to make this opportunity work (45).



Match 2:



Laura Arriaga vs. Tapanga

Match Details:

Poor local talent Arriaga was certainly not paid by the hour for this one-off performance, as Tapanga dominated her prey for 96 seconds, before putting her away with a Twizt and Shout (Sister Abigail).

Tapanga defeated Laura Arriaga in 1:36 by pinfall with a Twizt and Shout (18)



Backstage Angle:



AWF lead interviewer, Emma Moore walk over to Starlight women’s division star Erin Scott.

After smiling and waving enthusiastically to Moore to acknowledge Erin had seen her approach, halfway through the question of her 2021 plans, Erin can’t help but give her a big cuddly hug.



Off camera we hear a pretentious “Eww”, and the clacking of high heels, as three quarters of the faction “Mean Girls Club” approach, Kali Azar, Jenn Powalski and Teri Szatkowski.

Kali Azar: You are surrounded gorgeous influencers and the best this sport has to offer, and the only thing you can do is embarrass yourself on the weekly, wearing stupid T-shirts and people pleasing losers!

Jenn Powalski: Imagine scratching and clawing your way to get here, only to act like Erin! Ew, couldn’t be me!

As they giggle away, Scott drops her head, freezing up ever since they approached. Moore gives an encouraging back pat as we move on to the next segment (48)

We next spotlight World Champion, Core!

The best moments from taking the title from Derrick Romeo to defending the belt twice, really get over how superhuman the demonic, big, bulky heavyweight champion is, sitting on top of the AWF landscape (69).



Match 3:



United States Championship: Number 1 Contendership match
Eddy Lemaître vs. Jesse Mills vs. N8 Omega

Match Details:
The United States Champion, Aaron Price, was watching this number 1 Contendership at ringside, as these 3 wrestlers battled for a opportunity at his title.

The match allowed Mills to showcase his dangerous and unpredictable offence, Lemaître’s “unbreakable spirit” after surviving some heavy blows, and Omega’s cunningness to deflect offence into the opposition, before scampering over to sneak attack Lemaître with his Omega Driver and picking up the win.

N8 Omega defeated Eddy Lemaître and Jesse Mills in 8:45 when N8 Omega pinned Eddy Lemaître with an Omega Driver (45).



Backstage Angle:



Former three-time World champion, Derrick Romeo is seen taping up ready for his main event match. When he stands up ready to warm up, he finds himself face to face with AWF’s newest signing, Jonah Huntley.

Huntley made his debut last month attacking Romeo, so the atmosphere is tense.

Derrick Romeo: You’ve got five seconds to spit out whatever it is you are about to say, before I knock your teeth down your throat

Jonah Huntley: Woah, woah, woah, easy their big boy, I just came in to let you know that I, Jonah Huntley will be watching you very closely tonight, very closely indeed,

Huntley leaves having delivered his news, leaving a frustrated Romeo to continue his pre-match preparations… (72).



Match 4:





Black Gold and ALPHA vs. Stacks Armstrong and The Devastators

Match Details:
Trio’s action sees the Tag champs ALFA and The Devastators add another chapter to their 6-month battle against each, with the unaffiliated Armstrong and Gold seizing on the opportunity to prove their worth.

With the tag teams battling on the outside of the ring, its Stacks Armstrong, who turns down the chance to cheating twice, tricking the ref into thinking this would be a fair match, only to nonchalantly place two feet on the ropes, for the hard cam to see, but the referee to miss, as the victory is stolen in broad daylight.

Stacks Armstrong and The Devastators defeated Black Gold and ALPHA in 11:23 when Stacks Armstrong pinned Black Gold while using the ropes for leverage (41)



In Ring Angle:



“All American” Daryl Lance is accompanied by his manager Cheerleader Brittany out to the ring.

Whilst Daryl is grateful for hers and the fans support over his time in AWF, he is focussed on giving his all for the good of this company, and to ensure he provides for Brittany, himself and his family

Daryl Lance: No matter where this road takes us, I promise to stand up, take charge and deliver! (42)



Main Event:



Derrick Romeo vs. Ebi Kadivar

Match Details:

Romeo did find himself being added to the “List of Kadivar” but unfortunately for Ebi, that was the only thing he had control of tonight.

Even with Huntely’s prowling around the ring, Romeo was the consummate professional, ignoring all the noise to stay in control, avoid any counterattacks before finally hitting a brutal looking Tigerbuster (Tiger Driver) to win the main event.

Derrick Romeo defeated Ebi Kadivar in 17:06 by pinfall with a Tigerbuster. (66)



Closing In ring Angle:




Romeo raises his arms heading up the ramp victorious, as Huntley throws down the list in disgust, berating Kadivar, before yelling off mic up the ramp to Romeo.

We go off the air with Kadivar in the background “nursing” the list, treating as if it was his kid, but with a feud bubbling between Romeo & Huntley (65).

- With our company popularity starting off as a 60, anuthing over the 60 mark is the minimum standard, especially as we're so close to dropping in size, so whilst the first show can be awkward, hitting the mark first time is pleasing

- Both Huntley & Romeo off script worked the crowd well ensuring the best angle was a strong 72

- Given these are created wrestlers, let us know if you think in ring ratings for wrestlers would be a positive improvement to the diary, any feedback is welcome!

As you can see on your screen, the new owner of the AWF, Ieshia, is here to address today's main event. What do you expect, Kitty?

Kitty Reardon: I'm intrigued. Three of the company's top stars fighting for a AWF World Title shot at New Year, No Limits is sure to be an exciting contest. Let's hear from Ieshia...



Ieshia: How you doing, Vegas?

Ieshia: As you all know, I'm now in charge of running things around here. And I'm all about 
giving opportunities to those who earn it. We have New Year, No Limits coming at the end of the month and we need to appoint a new challenger for Core's AWF World Championship.

TONIGHT we will decide a Nº1 contender at the main event and it'll be one of three men who proved last year they deserve a chance at gold. The three contestants for this huge opportunity are... Kyle Howard: Quite the trio. Two multiple times United States champions in Lance and Fyre and AWF's hottest signing in Huntley. I'm not sure who I'd put my money in as I see all three as evenly matched.

Kitty Reardon: One thing is for certain, Kyle. You can expect three hungry competitors tonight as none of them has ever held the biggest prize of them all in the Awesome Wrestling Federation Championship. A chance like this can sometimes be the only one in a wrestler's whole career. And we are sure to get a hell of a match in tonight's main event.

Ebi Kadivar: Oh, it's much more than a clipboard with a paper. This is where I keep track of those who aren't worthy. Every single slacker, idiot and prick makes the list. There is even space for the losers.

Jonah Huntley: So you are calling me a slacker, an idiot and a prick?

Ebi Kadivar: I didn't say you are all three of those, but if you insist, I can make it official.

Jonah Huntley:  Just shut it. Instead of being obsessed with your little hobby, you should have focused on beating that smug holier-than-thou Romeo. But you didn't.

Kitty Reardon: What do you mean?

N8 Omega: My cousin, Faye Omega, is a clairvoyant. As I mentioned, making good predictions runs in the family. She even told me the AWF will see a huge change in its power structure and a title change will come very soon.

Kyle Howard: Assuming your cousin is right, which I doubt it, what does she mean by a huge change in the power structure?

N8 Omega: Who knows? I only care about the title change part because that's where I come into play. I'm facing this guy who will be coming from a loss at retribution and with no confidence.

Kitty Reardon: He's been on offence for most of the match. How can you be so sure he is going to lose?

N8 Omega: Like I said, I'm very good at making predictions, Kitty.

Aaron Price vs. Wilson Hancock

Match details:
A non-title contest involving US champion Aaron Price, who takes on a former US champion in Wilson Hancock. As the match reaches the 10 minute mark, N8 Omega holds Price's ankle near the bottom rope when the champ was running the ropes for a lariat and this gives Hancock the opening to hit his finisher and pin Price.

DZ Jenkins: Well, let me tell you something, lady, I laugh in the face of aggression. If Jesse Mills wants to get dangerous then we are gonna get dangerous. And that old cat can't keep with the DZ, you feel me?

Emma Moore: Then I guess your strategy is to return as much punishment as he dishes and rely in your younger and fitter body to withstand the wear and tear from the match.

DZ Jenkins: That's right. He loves punishment so I'm gonna give it to him. And that has been doesn't have what it takes to go at this level anymore.

Emma Moore: You certainly are confident, DZ. Let's see how it plays out. Back to you, Kyle and Kitty.

Kyle Howard: Jenkins looking fearless there. Maybe a bit too fearless.

Kitty Reardon: We all know how Jesse Mills thrives when his opponents fear him. I'm sure DZ Jenkins has that in mind so he won't give Mills the reaction that he craves.

The match starts hot with Mills goint at Jenkins with a flurry of punches, kickes and headbutts. As the match progresses, Jenkins utilizes his speed to avoid Mills' strikes while returning the favor with quick counter attacks and power moves. Like he said during the interview, in the end his toughness and resistance to punishment gain him the advantage over a tired Jesse Mills and Jenkins has the time and space to hit his finisher and claim another title defence.

DZ Jenkins defeated Jesse Mills in 10:38 minutes with a Freakin' Brilliance and makes defence number 4 of the AWF Television Title. (50)

Match details:
Mean Girls Club member Kali Azar has a chance to bully poor AJ, who is still trying to find her footing in the Starlets division. The match is very short with Azar not giving a single inch to her opponent while gloating to the fans. In the end, she beats Paris with a French Kiss following a distraction by the leader of the MGC, Amy Ladner who is at ringside.

Kali Azar defeated AJ Paris in 4:35 with the French Kiss after Ladner distracted Paris. (31)

Once the match is over, Ladner enters the ring to join Kali for an attack on the tired Paris. However, before they can even start....

Match details:
The menacing MMA champion takes on former AWF TV champion, Atlas Lynn, who's been trying to reignite some of the magic from late 2019 and early 2020 when he got to hold the TV Title twice. For most of the bout, Martial is putting pressure while Lynn holds on with all the grit he came to be known for during his tenure on the AWF. Even though he shows all the heart in face of his most dangerous challenge yet, Lynn is unable to resist Martial's devastating muay thai knee and goes down in defeat.

Tyshawn Martial defeated Atlas Lynn by pinfall in 11:29 minutes with a Muay Thai Knee (53)

After the match is over, Martial goes to help his opponent up and offers a handshake, clearly recognizing the tough fight. Lynn is surprised, but decides to shake hands with him and they both seem to respect each other's ability. (42)

Kyle Howard: Main event time, ladies and gentlemen. And it's a three way to decide the new number one contender for the Awesome Wrestling Federation Championship.

Kitty Reardon: As I said at the beginning of the show, it's sure to be an exciting and evenly matched contest. All of these three men are touted as future world champions here in the AWF and I think down the line, we may see every one of them hold the biggest prize in wrestling. Tonight, though, only one can actually claim the opportunity.

Kyle Howard: You are always insightful, Kitty. So, if I may ask, who is your pick for this nº 1 contender's match?

Kitty Reardon: Surely putting me on the spot, eh, Kyle? If I had to put money in it, my pick would be between Daryl Lance and The Fyre. Mostly because of their experience fighting for and holding gold here in the federation. But that does not mean I'm discarding Huntley's chances, though. 

Kyle Howard: Okay. You think Fyre and Lance won't feel the pressure of the situation as much as Jonah Huntley?

Kitty Reardon: Who knows? It's mostly a wild guess even though I'm trying to support this guess with their championship history and current momentum somewhat.

Kyle Howard: Nice. It's great that it's so unpredictable. Makes it all the more intriguing.

Kitty Reardon: Absolutely.

Jonah Huntley vs. The Fyre vs. Daryl Lance

Match details:
The three competitors enter the ring and the bell rings for the three way match. Both Huntley and Fyre go after Lance at every opportunity to keep the all-american down and out of the match. It seems their strategy is taking care of him first so they can decide the winner between themselves later. Huntley, ever the a-hole, taunts cheerleader Brittany everytime he gets the upper hand on Daryl.
As the match progresses, Fyre begins to attack Huntley more and more as he seems to realize what's at stake. Once Huntley hits the StarMaker on Daryl Lance, The Fyre quickly runs to the apron to land a springboard crossbody preventing Jonah from pinning Lance off his finisher. This is the last straw for Huntley who angrily starts to land multiple strikes on Fyre putting enough pressure to get the former 3-time US champion to the corner, in prime position for a big power attack.
Huntley decides to put Fyre up on the top rope for a superplex. As Jonah climbs for his attack, Lance appears from behind to insert himself in the mix and powerbombs Huntley at the same time Fyre is hit with the superplex. As his two opponents are down, Daryl decides to go for Huntley and stands him up for more punishment. Before Lance is able to get Huntley to the spot he wants, Huntley fights back with a forearm to the face and a german suplex as Daryl turned his back in pain. Huntley then signals for the StarMaker and has his eyes locked into Lance who is pulling himself up using the ropes.
To Huntley's frustration, The Fyre gets up and hits a dropkick on his back throwing him into Lance's direction.
Lance anticipates Huntley being thrown at him and delivers a belly to belly suplex on Jonah. Fyre takes advantage of this distraction to attack Daryl with Unleash The Fyre. However, Lance heard cheerleader Brittany scream for him to be careful and he is able to dodge The Fyre's finishing maneuver at the last second. This stuns Fyre and gives Daryl Lance the opening he needed to land his own finisher, the VDB 2.0 for the win.

Daryl Lance has defeated The Fyre and Jonah Huntley in 15:47 minutes by pinning Fyre after the VDB 2.0 (60)

 As Daryl Lance celebrates his big win with cheerleader Brittany, the lights inside the arena begin to flicker.

Out of nowhere, the AWF Champion appears in the ring right across of Daryl and his manager. Core doesn't speak any words but just gives his next challenger a cold stare while the crowd goes wild to close the show.

My notes:

- The start of a diary is always the toughest part as one needs to learn about the roster and its strenghts and weaknesses. All in all, at least I could keep things above the required rating.

- Getting to expand the promos/matches beyond what TEW allows ingame is very fun. Now I truly understand what writing a diary is all about.

- Alice Harrison is underrated. Tverse players don't talk much about her but she is a solid hand for an AWF starlets division that can use a reliable all-arounder like her.

- Tyshawn Martial is a great talent. Also, WMMA players will see a little reference up there.

- Since this is my very first write up, feedback is much appreciated.

Some early debuts, a diary staple! Truly unavoidable but these are good gets.

I am a big Daryl Lance guy, there's a lot to do with his chase for the Grand Slam, especially since there are like 3 more guys on the verge.

 

Excited to see this diary develop, I think as far as starts go it's incredibly promising.

Last week saw not only the debut of two brand new talents, but the establishment of a new number one contender to the world heavyweight champion in Daryl Lance. Kitty how do you see the landscape changing now?

Kitty Reardon: The whole roster has been put on notice, as we’ve seen how skilled Martial is in the octagon, Alice Harrison returns looking to prove a point, and Daryl becomes the latest contender to face the daunting task of attempting to knock Core off his spot at the top of the company.

Kyle Howard: It’s exciting times for fans of AWF, but the roster will have to dig even deeper to progress towards title glory, speaking of which, Jonah Huntley is here to address coming up short last week.



Retribution kicks off this week with Jonah Huntley. He addresses last week’s loss in the main event for a world title challenge, Ebi Kadivar adding him to the list, lastly Derrick Romeo being the bane of his life.

Jonah Huntley: Wasting time and energy, kindly explaining to Ebi why he was obviously wrong, and I am always right, cost me of my focus and my chance to jump straight to the front of the que! I’ll get back to that loudmouth Derrick Romeo later, but for tonight my focus will be on showcasing why the Huntley way is the right way (77).

Ankur the Great: Imagine having a giant Indian sensation on your roster, and you feel the need to go out and sign others to try and toughen up the roster, Tyshawn couldn’t stand a chance against me.

Atlas Lynn: Ahh there he is, stealing tv time to moan about other more talented recruits passing him by.

Ankur leans in close to whisper: I’d be very careful who you are talking to little man, especially without anyone covering your back (46).



Backstage Angle:



Riley Johansen overhears something in the locker room, he then stumbles into Jesse Mills cracking open a can.

Riley Johansen: How on earth are your going to make it as an elite AWF superstar, when you’re drinking away your future, being unbelievably unprofessional in our ...

Mills cracks the can of pop over his Riley’s head, before pointing at the soft drink crate, leaving a spluttering Johansen less than impressed (57).

Jonah Huntley & Ebi Kadivar vs Big ‘n’ Nasty

Match Details:

After Huntley took control of the early goings against Nasty G, he “kindly” tags out to let Ebi deal with huge Tyrannus. After wearing Tyrannus out then picking apart Nasty G, Huntley hits the StarMaker for the one, two, three.

Like usual, the pyro goes off at the stage to announce the start of AWF Retribution live from Reno, NV.

Kyle Howard: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to AWF Retribution from the beautiful NOW Arena at Reno, NV! This is the go-home show for New Year, No limits and we are sure to have an interesting night in front of us. I'm with Kitty Reardon, as usual and she will give us some insight into this upcoming show.

Kitty Reardon: Well, good evening, Kyle and everyone at home. It's always a pleasure to be here. As for tonight, I'm expecting huge amounts of drama since this is a PPV week and we all know what that means. We are in for title matches and the thirst for gold and glory always brings out the best...and the worst from pro wrestlers. The United States title situation, especially, is most intriguing for me as N8 Omega's little plot backfired on him by giving Wilson Hancock the argument he needed to turn Omega's title match into a triple threat. And I'm sure all of this must be a pain for US Champion Aaron Price as he heads to New Year, No Limits having to worry about two opponents and the always unpleasant possibility of losing his title without even being involved in the decisive moment.

Kyle Howard: That always haunts champions in multimen title defences. Especially when he knows both Omega and Hancock will be going for him the most.

Kitty Reardon: Well, that's to be expected, Kyle. As the champion, he is the one with a target on his back. And we saw what kind of tricks N8 Omega enjoys using.

Kyle Howard: Speaking about Price, Omega and Hancock, the first match for the night will see all of them in the ring for a six-man tag. Price will team up with two young up and comers in Eddy Lemaitre and Black Gold to face his two title challengers alongside Stacks Armstrong, who has been on a roll as of late.

Kitty Reardon: This is going to be a hard-hitting contest, I'm sure.

Match 1:

Aaron Price, Black Gold & Eddy Lemaitre vs. Stacks Armstrong, Wilson Hancock & N8 Omega

Match details:

This six-man tag is marked by N8 Omega's constant tagging out to avoid Aaron Price. The two youngsters, Gold & Armstrong take this as a chance to show what they are made of by being the legal man the longest time for their respective teams. Unlike his cowardly teammates, Armstrong is hell bent in going after Aaron Price. In the end, however, the US Champion manage to defeat Stacks by using his superior experience to reverse a move into his finisher.

Kyle Howard: Shouldn't have expected any less from N8 Omega than absolute cowardice during the tag match. We now go to Emma Moore and she has something interesting for us. Both the Starlets Champion Amy Ladner and challenger Alexis  James will give some thoughts on their upcoming championship match.

Emma Moore: Thanks, Kyle. This is surely the biggest match the starlets division can produce and I'm glad to be joined by James and Ladner here for a little chat.

Amy Ladner: You should say "Ladner & James" instead of "James & Ladner". I'm the champion here and my name should be mentioned first instead of this wannabe's.

Alexis James: What?

Emma Moore: Uh...well, let's get into the interview, shall we? There's has been some controversy surrounding the MGC lately as more starlets are complaining about the group. What do you have to say about this as you are the leader of the MGC?

Amy Ladner: It's much easier to whine and cry instead of actually being good enough to stand up to the MGC. I don't care about all this stupidity running rampant in the division. These little girls should just grow up.

Alexis James: It's hysterical listening to you say that others should grow up. Especially when you and your stooges keep bullying and cheating all the time. Typical childish behaviour.

Amy Ladner: Shut up! I was the one she's asked the question. Keep your whining to yourself.

Emma Moore: So, James, since you have been one of the biggest critics of how Ladner's group operates, I'm sure you are eager for the title match as it's an opportunity to rid the division of what you usually call "a thorn". Right?

Alexis James: You betcha'! It's not just me. The starlets division as a whole is tired. Heck, the fans are tired! Everyone is tired of Amy Ladner and her crew's underhanded tactics holding us back. Like you pointed out and I will say it again, the Mean Girls Club is a thorn in the starlets division's side. And as a veteran and former champion, I'll fight them to the end and take the starlets title from their clutches.

Emma Moore: Some bold words. Do you have any comment on that, Ladner?

Amy Ladner: Alexis can talk all she wants. She loves the sound of her voice when she gets into that whiner tone. She should just stick to being the queen of funk and stop getting delusional enough to entertain any possibility of taking my Starlets Championship away from me. This division beats to my rhythm and you should accept that you are just number 2.

Alexis James: I want to see you be this cheeky when we are together in the same place. Especially inside the ring at New Year, No limits. Then, your title reign will beat its last drum.

Emma Moore: A tense atmosphere here. Back to you guys!

Kitty Reardon: It's tough to pick a winner between the two of them. But I'm certain the MGC can really be a factor for this title match if Alexis James is not careful.

Match 2:

  

Derrick Romeo vs. The Fyre

Match details:
Two of AWF's finest go at it. A match involving this sort of wrestler can always have title implications for the near future. It's a long bout where they trade offence without anyone really getting an upper hand. Both even manage to hit finishers only to have the frustration of seeing the opponent survive. After around 15 minutes of back and forth action, the match is suddenly interrupted by a cheap shot from Jonah Huntley to Romeo's back when he was going for a top rope move. This causes a DQ loss for The Fyre.

Derrick Romeo defeats The Fyre in 15:51 minutes by DQ following Huntley's interference. (62)

    

After the match is over,  Huntley does not hold back on giving Derrick Romeo a huge beating. The former AWf Champion is too tired to really fight back and it makes Jonah all too happy to have an easy revenge on his nemesis. The Fyre, who leaves the ring to avoid getting involved into the drama, just watches the beatdown with a confused look.

Just as Huntley tosses Romeo to the side of the ring, out comes Ebi Kadivar holding his beloved list.

Ebi Kadivar: It has to be one of the saddest sights seeing a so-called former champion get humiliated like this by someone who's on my list. This makes you deserving of joining it yourself.
(Ebi writes Romeo's name on the list)
And you, Fyre, just standing there. Where is your hunger? Are you satisfied with being  just a sideshow? You probably know what happens to people who are too lazy and passive to take action here. You are now on the list!
(Likewise, he puts Fyre's name there)

The Fyre: What the hell?I didn't even do anything!

Ebi Kadivar: Exactly! You are one of those guys who are comfortable being mid.

The Fyre: I don't know what you are talking about. If you wanna go, just come here, little man!

Ebi Kadivar: Little man? Now you are on the list twice, my friend.

The Fyre: What? That doesn't make any sense!

(Huntley grabs a mic to join the conversation)

Jonah Huntley: Hey, easy there, big man. I know you are having fun, but you should save it for later, mmkay? Our beef is with Romeo and his buddy Awar who hog all the spotlight. No need to go and pick fights with the likes of Fyre.

Ebi Kadivar: I'm not picking fights. I'm just doing my due diligence when it comes to the list.

Jonah Huntley: Yeah, I'm sure. Now, just go to back and we can have a chat later. You should focus on your match against Sharif Awar, mmkay?

EBi Kadivar: Fine! But don't go thinking you are in charge, peasant. 

(Ebi Kadivar leaves to the back)

Backstage Angle: Ankur dislikes the new directions.

 

Atlas Lynn is hanging out in the lockerroom when the giant indian appears and squares up to him.

Ankur: You should be embarrassed.

Atlas Lynn: Why?

Ankur: I saw you kissing up to that woman's new and shiny toy. You seem to be all too content to let Ieshia find your replacement and throw you down into the pits of irrelevancy.

Atlas Lynn: Look, you are being way too paranoid. Also, this disdain you have for the new GM is just strange. 

Ankur: That woman does not know what she is doing. She has a real giant on the roster and still feels the need to find some MMA goon like Martial from the streets and give him valuable TV time. What about me? I'm not getting the respect the name "Ankur the Great" deserves. And it's embarrassing to see it. Who does she think she is and why she brought that goon to the company? We do not need this undeserving pretender here to make a mockery of us while taking our spot. And if I ever get the chance, I'll show this Martial guy how small he really is.

Atlas Lynn: Uh...

Ankur: What?

Atlas Lynn: (points behind Ankur, who takes a look)

Martial: So I'm a goon from the streets who is an undeserving pretender and you will show me how small I really am, right? How about at New Year, No Limits? Or are you only brave when it comes to ranting behind other's backs?

Ankur: You! You do not scare me, punk boy. Look at your size and look at mine.

Martial: It's not about size. It's about ability. And, to paraphrase you, I'm going to show you how 'small' you really are. See you at the PPV.

Martial leaves while Ankur looks furious and Lynn seems to have fun with the last line.

Right before the next match, Erin Scott comes out with Alice Harrison to stand by her corner.

Match 3:

  

Alice Harrison(w/Erin Scott) vs. Jenn Powalski(w/Teri Szatkowski)

Match details:
A short match where Harrison, who has more ring cred, wrestle circles around Powalski. The MGC member struggles to keep up with her opponent and it compels Teri to try some underhanded tactics in a n effort to aid her stablemate. However, Erin Scott is right there to run to Powalski's corner and stop Teri Szatkowski from grabbing Harrison at the apron. Once the interference is prevented, Harrison is able to finish Powalski off and take the W.

Alice Harrison defeated Jenn Powalski in 6:35 minutes by pinfall with a Shining Spirit (43)
Post match:

    

After the bout, Teri Szatkowski is unhappy with Erin stopping her and hits a running knee right to her face. This prompts Harrison to jump outside the ring to go after Teri. But the MGC member escapes before Alice can come to her and Powalski leaves the ring to follow her partner towards the stage. Instead of going after the heels, Alice decides to tend to Scott.

At the catering room, Huntley is happily having some tacos while Ebi Kadivar gets ready for his upcoming match.

Jonah Huntley: Heh.

Ebi Kadivar: You seem happy. 

Jonah Huntley: I should be. I just sent that arrogant f*ck Romeo to the infirmary and you will beat Awar so we can go into New Year, No Limits riding high after a perfect day.

Ebi Kadivar: I hope so. But I don't ever get overconfident before big matches. That's a peasant thing to do.

Jonah Huntley: Speaking about 'peasant', you called me a peasant out there. I didn't really like it, so you know.

Ebi Kadivar: Denial always comes before acceptance.

Jonah Huntley: Very witty. Now, go out there and just win, baby.

Ebi Kadivar: Okay, I'll go there. But,again, don't go thinking you are in charge!

(Ebi leaves)

Jonah Huntley: I'm always in charge. (bites his taco)

Match 4:

    

Ebi Kadivar vs . Sharif Awar

Match details:
The match starts and Ebi goes on an flurry of strikes trying to get an early advantage. The high sheik uses his experience to stay on top of his opponent and avoid giving Awar any chance to recompose himself. Feeling the pressure of needing to win, Ebi grows more and more desperate as he is unable to put his opponent away as the match progresses. Once we reach the 10 minute mark, Sharif Awar begins to mount a comeback using his resilience to get the upper hand on a now tired Ebi Kadivar. However, the young up and comer overpursues when trying to hit a spearand Ebi is able to whip Sharif head first into the turnbuckle. As Awar goes down, Kadivar climbs the top rope and sets up to hit his finisher, the Sheik from above. Much to Ebi's surprise, Awar sits up and is able to land the Night Night right as Ebi jumped for his finisher. The move is devastating and Ebi is unable to kick out.

Sharif Awar defeated Ebi Kadivar in 15:05 minutes by pinfall after landing the Night Night. (51)

Back to the backstage area:

  

Ebi Kadivar returns backstage still disappointed by the way victory escaped by his fingertips. Once he gets to catering, he bumps into Huntley, who was still there, now looking much unhappier.

Jonah Huntley: Hey.

Ebi Kadivar: I know what you are thinking and do not need to hear it, ok?

Jonah Huntley: You had one job. How can I trust you for the PPV when we face both Awar and Romeo?

Ebi Kadivar:  I was 'this' close to winning. It's not like I got destroyed or anything. 

Jonah Huntley: 'This' close is not close enough. If you don't have what it takes, perhaps you should put yourself on the list. 

Ebi Kadivar(angrily): Say what?

Jonah Huntley: At New year, No Limits, you better rectify your failure and help me beat those two hacks. Otherwise, you can kiss this alliance and your relevance goodbye. Ciao!

(Huntley leaves)

Ebi Kadivar(muttering): Punk ass peasant....

The champion address his challenger to end the show:

Kyle Howard: Some tension between these two heading into a big tag team match. You think they stand a chance against Derrick Romeo and Sharif Awar?

Kitty Reardon: It's surely a tough match as Romeo is a former world champion and Sharif Awar has to be one of the fastest rising stars in recent years. If Huntley and Kadivar want to stand a chance, they must try to coexist and stop being passive aggressive toward each other.

Kyle Howard: Going by their personalities, I think that's a tough one to ask for. 

(a loud pyro announces the arrival of Core)

Kyle Howard: He's here! Core is here! And he does not seem to be in the most pleasant of moods.

Kitty Reardon: In all my years in the AWF, I think I have never seen Core smile.

Kyle Howard: He looks particurlarly sullen today. I guess the fact Daryl Lance is his next opponent is not much to the champion's liking.

(Core enters the ring and grabs a microphone)

Core: Sometimes people are way too blinded by something called "hope". And I have always held disdain for this word. This damn word makes those who cling to it inevitably perish when they hold onto a naive belief they can overcome anything as long as put everything on the line. And all of those who do not embrace darkness still live in this illusion that hope is a real thing and that it alone can pull oneself through the impossible. It's absurd.
The impossible has this name for a reason. And no amount of hope can make the impossible occur. It doesn't matter how much you train, how many times you try and how many hours you invest. If something is impossible, your effort is in vain and your hope is useless. After that, all that's left is despair and the cold embrace of darkness. At New Year, No Limits, darkness will prevail over Daryl Lance's flimsy hope. And he will meet his final resting place.

-Daryl is one of those guys who could be a great World Champion for you, but definitely not at this point in the game and especially not when compared to Core.

 

United States Title match – 2^nd Defence: N8 Omega vs Wilson Hancock vs Aaron Price (c)

-Personally I think Wilson could be a fantastic main eventer for you if you're willing to build him up to that level, even at his age. That being said, he's also a great pick to help build Aaron Price up for bigger and better things in the future.

 

Starlight's Title – 7^th Defence: Alexis James vs Amy Ladner (c)

-It's nice to see the effort you've put into this feud, I feel like Alexis could pull off the win here, but I'm honestly expecting shenanigans to cost her the belt by a DQ.

-Ebi needs a popularity boost and Jonah is still establishing himself as a major player, a victory here would make sense despite their problems with each other.

-Riley's got the tools to be a star, but he needs the skills in the ring first. Making this the start of a longer feud could definitely help out with that.

I am not a fan of Core being a champion in his mid-40s even if his stats are good, but Lance can be heated up even further. It's fine to lose your first title match.

All due respect to the other two, Price is great and also doesn't quite have the room to drop the title and just become the main eventer with the faces above him.

Match 1:




World Tag Team Title’s – Third Defence: The Devastators (Juggernaut & Monstrosity) vs ALFA (DeSean Royal & Hunter Wolfe) (C)

Match Details:
Two industry leading teams put on a absolute clinic in hard hitting tag team action. Ebbing and flowing with neither team taking control of large parts of the match, helped to deliver an exciting contest.

Desean Royal getting the hot tag whipped the crowd up into a frenzy, as Juggernaut was ultimately knocked off the apron, whereas Monstrosity was taken off his feet, after Hunter drop toeholds him, into a huge ponce from Royal! Royal is then able to pick him apart before power bombing him for the victory.

ALFA defeated The Devastators in 15:04 when Desean Royal pinned Monstrosity with a Power Trip. ALFA makes defence number 3 of the World Tag Team Titles (48).



Post Match Angle:



Post match ALFA head up the ramp as victors, The Devastators look like they are reaching over for microphones,

Before they can get a word out, 2 hooded figures attack and leave them laid out in the middle of ring (35).

Alice Harrison briefs Erin Scott and AJ Paris ahead of their trios match with Mean Girls Club

Alice Harrison: Girls, we can’t let any of the Mean Girls words get into our heads, because we are shining lights within the Starlet division, with tonight being a brilliant chance for us to prove why we are here (49).



Match 2:


Ankur the Great vs Tyshawn Martial w/ Atlas Lynn

Match Details:

In a huge match Martial is able to show his intelligence as a fighter, recognising that getting the fight down to the ground will allow him to takeover.

An exhausted Ankur is visibly taken aback at Tyshawn’s strategy outdoing his power.

The finishing Muay Thai Knee staggers the big giant, until his 7 foot 8 inch frame rocks back, slowly at first, then a monumental second impact sends the giant into the mat with a huge thud! 1,2,3 and that’s all she wrote!

Tyshawn Martial defeated Ankur the Great in 5:54 by pinfall with a Muay Thai Knee (59).



Kyle Howard: With Atlas helping up Tyshawn up, was it just me, or was there a flash of jealousy in Lynn’s eye?

Kitty Reardon: Always a possibility, as it is a ruthless business! Lynn ultimately has to have respected Martials dominant performance, as something to emulate, leading to the young man showing respect to the dominant Martial.




Match 3:





Alice Harrison, Erin Scott & AJ Paris vs Mean Girls Club (Kali Azar, Jenn Powalski and Teri Szatkowski)

Match Details:

Encouraged by her teammates to open the contest, Scott is able to hold her own for a short while, before MGC gain the upper hand. A brief exchange between Alice & Kali, brought excitement from the crowd and a quick tag out from Kali, allowing Alice to hit her Shining Spirit a few minutes later, kicking off her AWF PPV debut with a win.

Alice Harrison, Erin Scott & AJ Paris defeated Kali Azar, Jenn Powalski and Teri Szatkowski in 9:53 by pinfall when Alice Harrison pinned Teri Szatkowski with a Shining Spirit (42).



Backstage Angle:



Surprise drop in appearance from Johnny Valleau who checks in on Ieshia, who was busy assuring James that Mean Girls Club won’t interfere

Ieshia: Yes I appreciate the other members of MGC will be worked up after that loss, but I assure you Alexis, Amy has given her word that they won’t get in the way of your title match

Jesse Mills vs Riley Johansen (Parking lot brawl)

Match Details:

Mills jumps Johansen in the back spilling from locker room to carpark, as both competitors were able to use the weapons around them to great effect.

Trapping Johannsen in knots on Johnny Valleau‘s shiny car, Riley can take no more, slapping his hand down on the bonnet, signalling the end, before rolling off and escaping a satisfied Mills.

Jesse Mills defeated Riley Johannsen in 13:53 when Riley Johannsen tapped out (41).



Backstage Angle:



Peacekeeper once again is booted out of a promo backstage, as Stacks Armstrong takes the mic to say:

Stacks Armstrong: The fact I have to prove myself before challenging for a title is laughable considering the absolute star that I am.

Gold, Lemaître, stand in my way and I’ll make you the star performer in your own American Horror Story

He then walks through the curtain for a triple threat number 1 contendership for a tv title opportunity (45).



Match 5:



Black Gold vs Eddy Lemaître vs Stacks Armstrong

Match Details:

Whilst each competitor was able to shine, with all 3 competitors facing off against each other throughout the match, rather than any alliances forming.

Stacks rolling out and letting Gold & Lemaître battle was ultimately a smart decision, as Stack’s stiff shots were too hot to handle, once the brawler cleared house.

An American Horror Story finisher on Black Gold, after dumping Lemaître over the top rope, allowing him to progress towards the TV Title.

Stacks Armstrong defeated Black Gold and Eddy Lemaitre in 9:46 when Stacks Armstrong pinned Black Gold with an American Horror Story (32).



Backstage Angle:



Jonah Huntley approaches Ebi Kadivar backstage to discuss tonight’s game plan in their upcoming tag team match against Derrick Romeo & Sharif Awar:

Jonah Huntley: Listen up Kaddy! Tonight, you need to follow my lead in order to succeed, as already in my short time here, I’ve proven that my intelligence is far superior than the entire roster, do you understand?

Ebi Kadivar: Yes, yes, lots of words, little in ring proof to back it up, prime candidate to move up and sit at the top of my list

Jonah Huntley: Urgh, just follow my lead, win the match, then we can go our separate ways (68).



Match 6:



Derrick Romeo & Sharif Awar vs Jonah Huntley & Ebi Kadivar

Match Details:

The difference between respect and animosity is clear as Ebi & Jonah simply got in the way of success.

Two evenly matched sides put on a spectacle thanks to Huntley & Ebi stealing the spotlight, alongside Awar & Romeo putting over there opponents brilliantly, by selling brutal individual moments of brilliance.

Romeo expertly cut the ring in half at times, to allow Awar to either recover from a beatdown, or utilize his explosive power to take this match away from Ebi & Jonah.

Derrick Romeo & Sharif Awar defeated Jonah Huntley & Ebi Kadivar in 16:31 when Derrick Romeo pinned Ebi Kadivar with a Tigerbuster (73).


 

Match 7:




Starlights Title – 7th Defence: Alexis James vs Amy Ladner (c)

Match Details:

These two rivals proved exactly why the Starlets division is lead by the opposing leaders. Back and forth action alongside the near 10 years each of experience allowed them to call back to key moments in their stories over the year.

As the action ramped up perfectly, into a dramatic ending, Alexis survived the MGC chicanery to keep in the fight for as long as she could, before the athleticism and beat downs took their tole, allowing Ladner to retain her title for the seventh time.

Amy Ladner defeated Alexis James in 18:46 by pinfall with a Dance till you drop. Amy Ladner makes defence number 7 of the AWF Starlights title (46).



In Ring Angle:



As Alexis James recovers on the mat, the arena darkens in stages until the lights go out.

On the titontron, we see the eyes of Tapanga (Think Rey Mysterio’s entrance video IRL) light up alongside an eerie laughter, as a terrified Amy Ladner runs up the ramp and into the back clutching her title (44).


 

Match 8:




United States Title match – 2nd Defence: N8 Omega vs Wilson Hancock vs Aaron Price (c)

Match Details:

The two on one handicap was immediately established with Price immediately on the back foot. The turning point of the match came when N8 Omega got too cocky for his own good, thinking he can handle the champion on his own. Therefore, he dumped Hancock out of the ring, allowing Price to recover enough to Irish whip Omega to the corner, before raining down strikes.

Ultimately the United States title stayed with Aaron Price, as after finishers are hit by all, leaving all three bodies on the mat, Price is able to stagger to Omega and deliver a Pay your Price to retain.

Aaron Price defeated N8 Omega and Wilson Hancock in 17:49 when Aaron Price pinned N8 Omega with a Pay your Price. Aaron Price makes defence number 2 of the AWF United States Title (54).


 

Main Event:




AWF World Title – 3rd Defence: Daryl Lance w/Cheerleader Brittany vs Core (c)

Kyle Howard: Main event time ladies and gentlemen sees the “All American” Daryl Lance taking on the “Demon” Core.

Core slowly worked his way into control of the match, with Lance at times clinging on to keep his title hopes alive by the skin of his teeth.

In the end it was the 6’11 Demon who was able to wear his challenger down and retain his belt for the third time.

Core defeated Daryl Lance in 21:58 by pinfall with a Korah’s Parable. Core makes defence number 3 of the AWF World Title (64).

Thanks for the predictions! Some really good feedback for us to take on board! We haven't 100% agreed on a prize, but we'll think about it! Including the preshow was harsh as its a 50/50, The Huntley / Ebi shout, makes a lot of sense now you say it! I guess with Core staying on top the faces moving up to challenge was the short sighted reason we chose them. Then long term Huntley not clicking with Ebi given his attitude will pay off soon
