Burning Hammer Of The Wrestling Gods Sign Historic PPV Deals

BHOTWG are delighted to announce the news that it has signed two new pay per view deals that will commence from March, the first of these being with HYBOSO which will see fans throughout Japan able to watch live PPV's on the famous broadcaster, HYBOSO are renown for showing sporting events and especially their MMA coverage. The second of these deals is a ground breaking one with Seleccion Mexico that will see BHOTWG events available across the country of Mexico live for the very first time. CEO Tadiyuki Kikkawa had the following to say "Over the last two years one of my main goals here has been to increase BHOTWG's profile overseas, a big part of this has been attempting to secure broadcasting deals overseas which has proven challenging, after talking to Seleccion Mexico over the last few months I am elated to be able to sign this deal and make this announcement" Kikkawa would go onto say "This broadcasting deal will open up opportunities for BHOTWG to hold shows in Mexico and our Mexican fans can expect to see us very soon"

February

Warrior Globe returned to Japan this year after having being an overseas event in 2021. Matthew Keith was one defence away from 10 defences, as BHOTWG got back onto Japanese shores it was announced that Mabuchi Furusawa would be the next challenger, after a singles win in the UK against Senmatsu and a win at Night Of The Burning Hammer over former stable mate Gakusha he had momentum behind him that the company clearly recognised. Sensational Dragon would face off against Toju Munkata in a number one contenders match for the Junior Heavyweight Championship in a match that promised to be exceptional. Rounding off the singles matches on the card would be Helikaon vs Koshiro Ino, Helikaon made an open challenge on social media to a heavyweight wrestler for a match at Warrior Globe, Helikaon keen to show him being a junior would make no difference and his class would shine through. Midnight Tiger debuted on the tour, coming in on a one year deal, Tiger was previously unemployed and working the independent circuit.

37th Champion Matthew Keith vs Mabuchi Furusawa

Matthew Keith failed to reach ten defences in what was, in some peoples eyes, the best BHOTWG match in the last few years as Mabuchi Furusawa became a two time champion, a great match that went just a little shy of half an hour. After the match Haranobu Kobayashi whom had a victory earlier in the night began making his way down the ramp, Furusawa who was already on the mic scoffed as he saw Kobayashi appeared and remarked that he didn’t even know who Kobayashi was, Furusawa had Toshitara intercept Kobayashi and the two brawled to the back, Kobayashi never getting the chance to make a challenge. Furusawas post match address was interrupted a second time by Flamboyance who already had a beef with Holy Ghost (who were in the ring with Furusawa) Pretty Okakura would go onto explain that Flamboyance had been approached by many of the stables in BHOTWG about joining them but they had their own plans, he would further explain that at next months event (Syndicate Of Fire) Flamboyance and their new partner who would as a trio be operating under the name of Nextream would like to challenge any three members of Influence, Furusawa accepted not mentioning which members of Influence would be involved.

The match between Helikaon and Koshiro Ino which was thought to just be a special inter weightclass match turned out to be something much more significant, just as the bell was about to ring BHOTWG CEO Tadiyuki Kikkawa appeared much to the excitement of the crowd, he would go onto announce that the following match would be a title match for the BHOTWG Openweight Championship making its return for the first time since 2008 – Helikaon won making him the 11th champion. Sensational Dragon got the better of Toju Munkata setting up the always highly anticipated match up of Sensational Dragon vs Emerald Angel for the championship the following month. Elsewhere on the card Midnight Tiger made his debut teaming with Elemental III in a winning effort.

March

The reintroduction of the Openweight Championship was followed by Kikkawa announcing a new tournament named the Ashes to Glory Tag Team Tournament, it was outlined that this tournament would be made up of openweight teams where one member would be a heavyweight and one a junior heavyweight, there was no date or further details to this tournament given at the time. Speaking of the Openweight Championship, the new champion Helikaon announced he would be holding an open challenge at every monthly event, inviting anyone to step up to him, the first of the open challenges would take place at Syndicate of Fire.  Emerald Angel vs Sensational Dragon was to headline the show with the semi final being Influence facing off against Flaboyance and their partner – the three men would be going under the name of Nextream, BHOTWG’s newest stable. After the events following the main event of Warrior Globe Haranobu Kobayashi would be facing Tatsuya Toshitara.

53rd Champion Emerald Angel vs Sensational Dragon

A very strong event and the first live on PPV in Mexico and Japan with HYBOSO. Emerald Angel sucessfully defended his title in the main event in a great contest, the former tag team partners providing the sort of match everyone expected though it would only become apparent how significant this match really was two months down the line in May.  In the Semi Final Mabuchi Furusawa lead Influence into the Challenge of newly formed Nextream, the massive surprise being that their third man was non other than Black Canvas Grapplings Razan Okamoto, after the event details of Okamotos deal were revealed, he was joining on a written deal that would mostly see him appear at events only (as opposed to tour shows) Kikkawa had been working to build a good relationship with BCG and this seemed to have played a big part in this deal – BHOTWG getting a big star for their events and BCG still retaining the core of his services. Helikaon was shocked when the first person to respond to his open challenge was none other than his stablemate The Architecht, Helikaon making a sucessful defence in just under 20 minutes in a good match. Elsewhere Toshitara settled a score with Kobayashi and we also had an openweight tag team showcase in the run up to the Ashes to Glory Tournament.

April

Mabuchi Furusawa would be making the first defence of his title at Test Of Prophecies against SUKI, a man whom he had much history with, the match was also a chance for SUKI to really make a mark in BHOTWG. Helikaons open challenge would also continue as he and the company both hoped to really push the Openweight Championship as a big deal and something to look forward to. Flamboyance sought out a rematch for the Junior Heavyweight Championships, the two had hinted at possibly shelving their team if they failed to regain the gold. To mark the new PPV deal in Mexico The Ring Generals would be defending their titles against CILL Tag Team Champions The Wildfires in what promised to add something different to the card. Test Of Prophecies would also mark Shiki Saitos last match as a young lion as he faced the unenviable task of facing Munemitsu Senmatsu before heading off on excursion

Furusawa had an excellent match against SUKI and more importantly for him it was a successful defence, before that was what came very close to being match of the night, answering Helikaons open challenge was Elemental III, the two men went to battle for just shy of twenty minutes when eventually Helikaon was victorious, the open challenges already proving to be a highlight of the match cards. The night had four title defences in total and they all turned out to be successful defences by the champions, Holy Ghost remaining top of the junior tag food chain and The Ring Generals saw of CILL’s The Wildfires. Munemitsu Senmatsu defeated Shiki Saito in Saito’s last young lions match, it was announced two days after the event that Saito would be heading to Mid Atlantic Wrestling as part of a new excursion agreement set up, loosely part of the IWGP Alliance (Via MAW’s relationship with TCW). Earlier in the night Matthew Keith started his life without the World Championship on the losing side of a tag team match. The Fire Dream Cup was up the following month back for the second time, the cup had proved popular the year before and this years line up with a stellar one.

May

The Fire Dream Cup tour covered the length of Japan throwing up some great matches, the highlight of which was in the Semi-Finals when Heihachiro Sakai defeated SUKI in a great match, Sakai would go onto the final where he would be facing Munemitsu Senmatsu in a keenly anticipated match up. Matthew Keith continued to struggle after losing the World Championship and he was knocked out in the first round by Tatsuya Toshitara.

Major news came out of BHOTWG during the month of May where it was shockingly announced that Sensational Dragon would be leaving the company with immediate effect, the news sent shockwaves around the wrestling world in Japan. Sensational Dragon at the time of leaving was a four time BOSJ winner, a six time Junior Heavyweight Champion and a one time Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion. In the following days details came to light that Sensational Dragon has asked Kikkawa for his release and there was no particularly ill feeling, Dragons decision allegedly came after some grievances over booking directions involving him.

BHOTWG’s hot start to the year in terms of main event quality continued here infront of a big crowd at Saitama Super Arena as Heihachiro Sakai became the second winner of The Fire Dream Cup, in the process punching his ticket to a World Championship match. Outside of the cup final the rebirth of the Openweight Championship continued to be a success and Helikaon carrying it was seeing his stock rise and rise, another defence in another great match, this time it was Tatsuya Toshitara that answered the open challenge. The rest of the card was mainly filler, all of the focus going on the semi and the main. El Serpiente had appeared across the tour, making some appearances as part of the IWGP alliance coming in from CILL.

Tough couple of months for SUKI! Shame to see Sensational Dragon go - part of the issue with Japan is that, when the junior heavyweights leave BHOTWG, they don't seem to end up anywhere else. Has he signed a deal with another promotion yet?

SUKI always seems to be someone that gets lost in the shuffle a bit with saves I run, I always have the best intentions with him but yeah.

I agree, though once you get a year or so into saves pretty much every company makes millions of dollars each month so in this case yes, he has signed a deal elsewhere - it will pop up as part of the monthly game world round ups at some point but as you asked, he’s signed for EXODUS

Sorry there has been a bit of a break in updates, Football Manager has come out and consumed my free time 😅 I am also missing some notes so I'm having to re-write some stuff/ try to remember where my train of thought was at the time. I'm roughly 5 months ahead of myself but I am planning to update this dynasty right up to where I am in game and just update things here in real time going forward :)

June

The Warriors Hammer would take place at the end of June at Osaka Jo Hall, main evented by Heihachiro Sakai vs Mabuchi Furusawa as the Fire Dream Cup winner aimed to turn the cup victory into his first reign as world champion. Toju Munkata would be stepping up for the junior title, representing his stable F.E.A.R, Munkata would be hoping to reach the heights that he reached in 2020. The veteran team of Kinnojo Horri and Hiroaki Nakasawa would be challenging The Ring Generals. The month of June also saw Ernest Youngmans return to BHOTWG for a string of appearances on loan from TCW, Helikaon and Matthew Keith making appearances for TCW during this time too.

Heihachiro Sakai claimed the first world title of his career in an excellent main event, ending Mabuchi Furusawas second reign rather abruptly, as July was the month of the juniors there was no challenge forthcoming and Sakai was allowed to celebrate in the ring with NEO in peace and to address the crowd at hand. Emerald Angel saw off Munkata in the semi final but once again it was Helikaons Openweight open challenge that caught the eye outside of the main event, it was Ernest Youngman who answered the challenge and Helikaon once again retained. The Ring Generals saw off Horri and Nakasawa in what really felt like might be the last big match the two men would be having, tinged with sadness the crowd rose to their feet to applaud the two veterans out of the ring. Elsewhere on the card Razan Okomoto made an appearance from BCG with his Nextream stable mates in a winning effort over NEO and Tatsuya Toshitara got a singles victory against Kenta Watoga.

July

A unique feature of this years Best Of The Super Juniors was that two of the nights came from Mexico, Kikkawa continuing his focus on pushing into the Mexican market, two good shows one in Monterey and one in Mexico City. Mexican stars featured in both blocks and both Sunburst and Phoenix IV proved popular in their homeland. Both blocks were keenly contested and come the end of the month the final standings were as follows

A BLOCK

1. Elemental III 10 Points

2. Emerald Angel 8 Points

3. Magnum Kobe 8 Points

4. White Angel 8 Points

5. Pretty Okakura 8 Points

6. Hijo Del Relampago 6 Points

7. Kazunori Yamura 6 Points

8. Sunburst 2 Points

Elemental III picked up 10 points for the second year in a row, though this time it was enough to see him top his block. White Angel like his tag partner Crimson Ghost continued to look impressive, both men continuing to benefit greatly from Mabuchi Furusawa forming INFLUENCE. Pretty Okakura and Magnum Kobe both disappointed not to progress.

B BLOCK

1. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto 12 Points

2. MYSTIC Dragon 10 Points

3. Toju Munkata 10 Points

4. Helikaon 8 Points

5. Crimson Ghost 8 Points

6. Ko Minamino 4 Points

7. Akio 2 Points

8. Phoenix IV 2 Points

There had been a growing sense of the inevitable surround Tsuneyo Yanagimoto since he and Pretty Okakura had agreed to shelve their tag team aspirations, Yanagimoto had progressed through the block phase dropping only one match to Toju Munkata and in topping the block set up a mouth watering encounter with Elemental III at Kanagawa Stadium at the end of the month.

Best Of The Super Juniors XXIII Final

Tsuneyo Yanagimoto vs Elemental III

That sense of inevitability carried Tsuneyo Yanagimoto to become the Best Of The Super Juniors winner in a truly excellent match with Elemental III that went 27:04. Yanagimoto was a three time world junior champion in EXODUS but this was by far and away his defining career moment. The two title matches on the card were as a result of block matches, MYSTIC Dragon calling his shot at the Openweight title after defeating Helikaon in B Block, the champion retaining here in a good match, elsewhere Holy Ghost continued their impressive run with the belts. The Ashes To Glory tournament rolled on with T-Bone Bright making a successful appearance over from TCW. The month concluded with numerous contract rumours both inside and outside the company, these rumours would eventually becoming the leading news stories for August.

August

CEO Tadiyuki Kikkawa continued his advances into the Mexican market by launching a sensational attempt to sign Gino Montero as his EILL contract was coming up, whilst BHOTWG finances at the time were well enough ultimately they couldnt keep up with EILL whom eventually sexcured Montero at a hefty $308,100 per month (¥44,652,933) at the time the highest paid earner (per month) at BHOTWG was Kinnojo Horri ($94,600/¥13,710,378). Aside from the failed attempt at bringing Montero in news also broke of Mainstream Hernandez having agreed a deal to return to SWF roughly a year after leaving them, Hernandez had enjoyed his spell in BHOTWG slotting nicely into NEO he also made some sporadic appearences with TCW during this time proving hugely popular on their shows. Such was the good feeling in Japan towards Hernandez that he was granted a Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship match before he left the following month, this would take place at Summit Challenge.

The first defence of Heihachiro Sakai's reign as World Champion would come up against Koshiro Ino, with past NEO ties between the two the match was highly anticipated. Tsuneyo Yanagimoto with all the momentum in the world behind him as BOSJ winner would be challenging Emerald Angel for the Junior Heavyweight Championship, though this match was billed as the semi final for many it was the main event, BHOTWG junior division seemigly much stronger in depth than the heavyweight one. Helikaon would continue his open challenge, his current number of defences standing at five. The card would also feature an Ashes To Glory Tournament Quater Final.

BHOTWG World Championship

39th Champion Heihachiro Sakai vs Koshiro Ino

Heihachiro Sakai saw off Ino in the main event to make his first defence, Ino unfortunately put in rather an underwhelming performance which lead some to speculate as to the winding down of Ino's stay in the upper end of the match card. The Semi Final overshadowed the Main Event by some way as many expected, Yanagimoto coming in white hot was unable to wrestle the championship from Emerald Angel, after the match Yanagimoto's stable mate and tag team partner Pretty Okakura stepped up to challenge, Okakura not having been as successful since joining BHOTWG was hoping to perform above expectations and cause an upset. Munemitsu Senmatsu had been something of a missing man since May and his losing effort in the Fire Dream Cup Final, he answered Helikaons open challenge and arguably became the champions biggest scalp to date. Holy Ghost saw off NEO, in one of Mainstream Herndez's last appearences in Japan. Hiroyasu Gakusha and Elemental III advanced to the Semi Finals of the Ashes To Glory Tournament.

HINOTE DOJO UPDATE

image.png

Current Young Lions

Park Myung-Seop

Park Myung-Seop.jpg

Signed to a deal as recently as this week retired kickboxer Park Myung-Seop becomes the newest face to appear at the dojo. Whilst it has been acknowledged by most at the dojo that Myung-Seop will not be a "regular" young lion the 29 year old South Korean will still appear in the traditional all black attire and performing the usual young lion duties backstage. Still yet to make his in ring debut there is little conclusion that can be drawn as to his in ring skills by the public, however behind the scenes the Hinote Dojo trainers will tell you that his clear upside is his impressive stamina and toughness.

Katsumoto Yokokawa

MarchBBBBB.jpg

Making his debut at Night Of The Burning Hammer in 2021 Yokokawa has gone on to have 40 matches to date, many people still mark him as a dark horse for future success though there is a feeling that he is failing to show even the first shoots of that potential. Yokokawa certainly has a good look and possesses natural star quality and his in ring psychology has started to come along a little, on the flip side stamina is clearly an issue for the junior heavyweight whom often shows clear signs of tiring if his matches make it much past the 6 minute mark. Excursion is still a long way into the 23 year olds future.

Currently On Excursion

Tomonaga - CILL/EILL (Mexico)

Yunokawa - CILL/EILL (Mexico)

September

A signing to start off the month, with the input of Emerald Angel BHOTWG signed Mercury, the 30 year old had left EXODUS a few years previous and he had his mentor to thank for picking up this job. After a while without any major injury issues The Architect suffered a separated shoulder on one of the tour shows, as a result of this the team of The Architect and Matthew Keith had to withdraw from the Ashes To Glory Tournament. Quest of Heart at the end of the month would see Mainstream Hernandez's last match for BHOTWG in a F.E.A.R v NEO multi man match. Pretty Okakura would be challenging Emerald Angel hoping to do what his stablemate Yanagimoto could not and dethrone the champion. Helikaons open challenge would continue and there was also to be an Ashes To Glory Tournament match. New Young Lion, former kickboxer Park Myung-Seop would be debuting in the shows opener.

Emerald Angel clocked up another defence in a Main Event that maybe failed to deliver as expected, the match of the night by some way was the Semi Final which featured the BHOTWG debut of Commander Kawagishi, CK had left both WLW and EXODUS a few months previous and he would bolster an already extremely impressive junior division. Kamioka and Kobe progressed in the Ashes To Glory Tournament in a solid match. Mainstream Hernandez bode farewell to BHOTWG as NEO lost out to F.E.A.R, backstage Deluxe members taunted NEO about the loss, Deluxe enjoyed a win earlier in the night.

BHOTWG OCTOBER PREVIEW

The road to Night Of The Burning Hammer will begin to wind its way to December with Burning Harvest at the end of October. The IWGP alliance will once more step into the limelight as BHOTWG World Champion Heihachiro Sakai will face a formidable opponent in Wolf Hawkins, the champions third defence will be the main event. Sakai would be forgiven for being preoccupied as Deluxe have been doing all they can to hound NEO of late, the fires of a stable war being stoked.

Koshiro Ino and Munemitsu Senmatsu will be facing off in a special singles match, a match up that could head up any event in which both men will be looking to create a launch pad to the end of the year. Senmatsu has a record of 5-2 in singles matches in 2022, most of those wins coming in his run to the Fire Dream Cup Final, Ino on the other hand is 3-7, 5 of those losses coming in TCW. Looking at the singles records for the year you would be forgiven for making Senmatsu the favourite, though over the years Ino has made many people look foolish when underestimating him.

Akio & Ko Minamino of F.E.A.R have a golden opportunity as they find themselves in a title match for the BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, the champions Holy Ghost (White Angel & Crimson Ghost) have made formidable figures since picking up the belts, this is going to be their 7th title defence. In further tag action we will also have Ashes To Glory Tournament Semi Finals when T-Bone Bright and Emerald Angel will face off against NEO's Atsumori Takemura and Chomei Sugiyama and in the second Semi Final Hiroyasu Gakusha & Elemental III come up against Senmatsu-gun pairing Gonkuro Kamioka and Magnum Kobe.

And of course, a match that has become one of the most looked forward to on any BHOTWG event card, Helikaon's Openweight Championship open challenge!

Ashes To Glory Semi Final

Hiroyasu Gakusha & Elemental III vs Senmatsu-Gun (Kobe & Kamioka)

BHOTWG Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships

33rd Champions Holy Ghost vs F.E.A.R (Minamino & Akio)

Koshiro Ino vs Munemitsu Senmatsu

BHOTWG Openweight Championship

11th Champion Helikaon vs Ieyoshi Shimakage

BHOTWG World Championship

39th Champion Heihachiro Sakai vs Wolf Hawkins

Heihachiro Sakai clocked up another successful defence against TCW star Wolf Hawkins but it was after match events that would stick out in the memory as the Champion was jumped by all members of Deluxe whom themselves were seeking redemption for a NEO attack earlier in the night after the show opener, stable warfare really threatening to boil over once more. Helikaon faced stern opposition from a man whom is more closely associated with tag team action, the Openweight Championship matches continuing to impress night after night really cementing the championship as a much bigger deal than it was during its first stint in the company.

Munemitsu Senmatsu got a win to further Koshiro Ino's poor year in singles action, Senmatsu was fancied to challenge the World Champion but with the after match events in the main event we didn't get to see if that would come to fruition. Holy Ghosts formidable run with the Junior Tag Championships showed no sign of slowing down as they made relatively light work of the F.E.A.R pairing of Ko Minamino and Akio. The final of the Ashes To Glory Tournament was set, in two months time at Night Of The Burning Hammer the teams of Hiroyasu Gakusha & Elemental III and Chomei Sugiyama & Atsumori Takemura will face off for the trophies. The opener was a fantastic six man between Deluxe and Flamboyance that many considered to be the match of the night, after the match the winners were attacked by members of NEO thus making both ends of the show about Deluxe v NEO, many questions were left as to where this situation would end up for all involved.

BHOTWG November Preview

Hiroaki Nakasawa says goodbye to BHOTWG in November as his contract runs up and it was announced he would be leaving the company, the four time World Champion has only featured sporadically of late and may look to make an impact elsewhere.

Shimotsukis main event will be NEO vs Deluxe in a 6 man tag, with Ernest Youngman heading back over to Japan at Heihachiro Sakais request to join up with his NEO mates, the stable war that has been bubbling up for weeks now continues, Matthew Keith also has announced that Helikaon will be putting his Openweight open challenge on pause to feature on team Deluxe. The Junior Heavyweight Championship is set to be defended in a moutwatering encounter between the champion Emerald Angel and Elemental III, this will be the champions ninth defence as he creeps slowly towards a year atop the mountain.

After nearly capturing the Openweight Championship the month before Ieyoshi Shimakage has turned his attention to other Deluxe members and challenged The Ring Generals for their World Tag Team Championships, Shimakage will be teaming with his regular partner Gonkuro Kamioka. Stable vs stable in the main event and also earlier in the card as INFLUENCE will face F.E.A.R, Flamboyance (Okakura and Yanagimoto) will be teaming up once again to face Rebel Run X and finally Kenta Watoga vs Magnum Kobe will open the show, a fued that had been sparked during the tour shows and online with insults thrown back and forth.

NEO (Sakai, Youngman & MYSTIC Dragon) vs Deluxe (Keith, Helikaon & The Architect)

NEO with TCW's Ernest Youngman could not do enough to defeat Deluxe in the main event, chaos breaking out after the match as other members of both stables brawled in and around the ring, as officials managed to regain some calm it was announced that at Night Of The Burning Hammer Matthew Keith would be getting a World Championship shot in light of Deluxes victory. The match of the night, as it so frequently is, was the Junior Heavyweight Championship match as Emerald Angel defended his title and in the process secured a year as champion, Flamboyance both came out to challenge to challenge after the match but the champion refused to be drawn into agreeing to a three way match against a tag team.

The Ring Generals were attacked after their victory by the INFLUENCE pairing of Mabuchi Furusawa and Tatsuya Toshitara, the two having won earlier in the night made a challenge for the following month after laying out the champions. Kenta Watoga and Magnum Kobe had a fantastic technical wrestling match with Watoga eventually coming out on top.
