The broadcast for the sixth installment of Wrestling at the Ryan hits the airwaves in a slightly different fashion than the previous five. We still have our crowdshot after the opening titles, but instead of going to the announce desk with Patrick and Sue, we instead go to the ring where all five members of The Academy as well as the Academy’s leader, Professor Jim King are all standing in the center of the ring. All five members of The Academy are wearing championship gold. Juggernaut Jones, Jack Pryde, and Phil Anders are wearing the COTT World Six-Man Championships and The Brute Squad has the MWCW National Tag Team Championships. Professor Jim King looks beside himself with happiness as he lifts the microphone to his lips.

King, “Hello everyone and welcome to another exciting edition of Wrestling at the Ryan featuring the hottest collection of professional wrestlers anywhere in America, The Academy.”

Professor King takes a dramatic pause for the boos to come in.

King, “That’s right. You can look at any company in America, heck, in all of North America and in all of wrestling and you won’t find a single collective that is as successful right now as The Academy. We are draped in championships. We have the best trio in wrestling. We have the National Tag Team Champions. We are smarter than the competition, we are better trained than the competition. We have better nutrition. We are the peak of athletic performance. We are the peak of wrestling intellect and this is just the beginning, isn’t it Jack?”

King passes the microphone to Jack Pryde.

Pryde, “That’s right Professor. Because of you and our own natural talents, we are all well oiled machine. We know how to win. We know the weaknesses of all our opponents, and we know how to exploit them. We are ready for prime time.”

Phil Anders takes the microphone from Jack.

Anders, “We’re the studs of professional wrestling. We’re who you want if you want championship pedigree. If you want the best, you better call us. We’re worth the money it takes to bring us to your town.”

Professor King takes the microphone back.

King, “Professional wrestling has always been run by men who aren’t afraid to take what they want. Men who see an opportunity and snatch it for themselves. That’s what the Academy is doing. We are taking over professional wrestling one championship at a time and Roger. You’re the National Heavyweight Champion… But only for now. We’re coming for you. We’re coming to control MWCW.”

The Academy exits the ring and now we go to the announce desk.

We settle on Patrick Santini and Sue Danes.

Santini, “We apologize for that unscheduled segment. The Academy was not supposed to start the show but as you can see, they are very full of themselves.”

Danes, “They are full of themselves, but you have to give them some credit. They are all champions. They are the World Six-Man Champions. They are the National Tag Team Champions. I don’t think we have to like them, but we do have to acknowledge that they are successful.”

Santini, “They’ve been known to use that outside interference to win though.”

Danes, “I don’t like their means anymore than you do, Patrick, but if the referee doesn’t catch it, there’s nothing I can do. That’s the way it works.”

Santini, “Be that as it may… We have a full show for you tonight. El Bandido Jr takes on War Piece in our opening contest which will be coming to you just after the break.”

War Piece vs. El Bandido Jr

We come back from commercial break with the opening contest. Last week, War Piece made his MWCW debut in a singles contest against Juggernaut Jones. That was a one-sided affair that didn’t really allow War Piece to gt any offense. The match here with El Bandido Jr. was a fast-paced affair. War Piece didn’t dominate, or even come close to winning, but he did get to show a little bit more of his offensive capabilities before he ate the Hijack Suplex and lost to El Bandido Jr.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, El Bandido Jr defeated War Piece in 5:49 by pinfall with a Hijack Suplex.

We go backstage where Mya Catalan is standing by with Ashley Keith.

Catalan, “I’m joined at this time by Ashley Keith. Ashley, last week you showed up unannounced and uninvited and attacked the National Women’s Champion Danielle Sweetheart –”

Mya is cut off by Ashley.

Keith, “I was not uninvited. Did Danielle Sweetheart send open contracts around the world for women to be able to come to MWCW and challenge her for the National Women’s Title.”

Catalan, “I believe she did.”

Keith, “That’s right sweetheart, she did. And do you know what I did? I signed one of those contracts.”

Catalan, “Wait. You did?”

Keith, “I sure did. I’ve got myself a guaranteed opportunity now at the National Women’s Championship. I’ve watched every episode of Wrestling at the Ryan. I’ve heard everything Danielle Sweetheart has said. I’ve heard the way she’s called herself the best women’s wrestler on the planet. That’s quite the statement to make, especially when she’s never been in the ring with me. She calls herself the Queen of Hearts and the Real Queen of Wrestling and that’s cute and it looks good on a t-shirt, but standing in front of you, Mya Catalan, is the real queen of wrestling. This is my world and I’ve let Danielle Sweetheart live in it but it is time for the fairy tale to come to an end. Danielle, I’ll see you soon.”

St. Louis' Most Wanted & Harvey Robbinfield vs. The National Guard

Our next match pits the National Guard, who made their unsuccessful debut last week against St. Louis’ Most Wanted – who was successful in their debut, and “The Omega Man” Harvey Robbinfield. Harvey took the heat from the National Guard to try to build some sympathy and anticipation for the tag to the two big men. The comeback was done by Jake Jackson, who used his bulk and power to bump the National Guard all over the ring. The tag to Papa Swoll came and Swoll hit his Boom Shakalaka on Bubba West and that was all she wrote.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Harvey Robbinfield and St. Louis' Most Wanted defeated The National Guard (The Silencer, Desert Storm and Sgt. Bubba Lee West) in 7:49 when Papa Swoll pinned Sgt. Bubba Lee West with a Boom Shakalaka.

At the conclusion of the match, Papa Swoll calls for a microphone. Mya Catalan hands it to him but does not enter the ring.

Swoll, “I really shouldn’t be doing this, I know there are a couple matches left in the show and time is important, but man, me and Big Jake and Harvey are feeling good. We’re feeling real good. It’s been great to be here in MWCW and get these big wins the last two weeks.”

Jackson takes the microphone from Swoll.

Jackson, “That’s right. Last week we let everybody know that we got aspirations on being National Tag Team Champions, but with big Harvey, the Omega Man, we’ve also got our eyes those World Six-Man Titles. “

Harvey didn’t say anything, he just nodded his head in agreement and the three men left and we go to commercial break.

Peta vs. Marjorie Oxford

We come back from commercial break on Peta’s entrance. The young Blackfoot wrestler from Canada came out with a lot of fire. Marjorie Oxford, the daughter of legendary tag wrestler Robert Oxford. The match was a good standard heel-babyface match. Peta got the early shine on Marjorie before Oxford used a handful of hair to steal the advantage and get some good solid, technical-minded heat. She used a particularly nasty backbreaker that got her a near fall.  Peta made a big comeback, lots of back elbows and a big back body drop that Marjorie Oxford almost touched the lights on the bump. Peta hit her Soo [brainbuster DDT] and got the victory.

In a decent match, Peta defeated Marjorie Oxford in 6:52 by pinfall with a Soo.

Roger Monteiro.pngAce Youngblood.pngWild Red Stallion.pngMalachi Thunderbird.pngMicah Thunderbird.png

We go backstage to the First Nation’s locker room. All five members of The First Nation, none of whom are wrestling on tonight’s broadcast. Roger Monterio, the National Heavyweight Champion, is in the front and center. He’s flanked on either side by Ace Youngblood and Wild Red Stallion with the Thunderbird brothers behind him.

Monteiro, “We had the goal of being the top group in MWCW and in wrestling. The goal of having the National Heavyweight, Tag Team, and World Six-Man Championships among all of the other goals we have. We want to be the top attraction all over the world. We know we can be. We know that we have the talent, the ability, and the work ethic to do so.  We came up short last week for the National Tag Team title tournament. That happens. Sometimes it’s not your night, we’re not going to cry over a loss or say it’s unfair. No. The Thunderbirds are better than that and we are better than that. We’re going to collect ourselves, we’re going to study the footage and we’re going to put ourselves back in positions to keep winning more and more gold. We promise all of our fans that in the coming months, you’re going to see all five of us draped in championships.”

Luis Montero Jr. vs. Disturbed

We come back from commercial break with a classic lucha-style match. Luis Montero Jr. is one of the two luchadors in MWCW who are getting a push (El Bandido Jr. being the other). Montero is as classic of a luchador as you’re likely to find. It’s in his blood. For what it’s worth, he’s also become an integral part of the MWCW staff and is said to be the lead agent/producer. Disturbed, the Canadian luchador who made his name in OLLIE but has been touring WLW recently. With both of them having been in OLLIE for so long, Montero and Disturbed had a great back and forth contest that ended when Montero made Disturbed submit to a Texas Cloverleaf.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but little heat, Luis Montero Jr defeated Disturbed in 7:11 by submission.

Coco Malloy vs. Steffi Chee

We come out of the last commercial break for the main event – which pits the young Coco Malloy against Steffi Chee. The veteran Chee is clearly looking to get back on track but also to establish that she should be the champion and not Danielle Sweetheart. Chee controlled most of the match. Her offense was targetted on the neck and Coco Malloy sold her ass off for the veteran. The comeback from Malloy was big and full of energy but then Chee cut her off again and looked like she was about to put her away when Coco slipped out and rolled Chee up for the surprising victory.

In a decent match, Coco Malloy defeated Steffi Chee in 6:09 by pinfall with a quick roll up.
