Hey gang, 

I've been pretty inspired by the likes of @WalterSobchak, @QFresh,  @Peria, @Heinzreich and others and have been steadily making my way through re-rendering the CVerse to a style that I like for my games. I thought I post them here to share with anyone who wants them. I'll update this periodically when there's more add. Feel free to use any renders as you see fit. 

 

For the time being, I will be posting my renders on the classic CV Blue. If there is a strong preference for something different, I'll consider it.  Anyway...renders incoming...

I like how these still capture the feel of the cverse. There are still issues in the margins (ears/hands/masks) but a lot of these could be in the game and I wouldnt bat an eye. Great job

Thanks for that. I really wanted to keep something of the original renders. I've always really liked renders that embraces a slightly more exaggerated style (especially artists like @shipshirt, @brat99, @willr0ck and others). I wanted to try and aim for something along those lines as the ultra real renders don't appeal to me as much. 

 

As for Troy Tornado, I don't know why but I always pictured that weird bumpy hairline of his original render to be cornrows! 🤣 I have some other alts for him that I can toss up soon.

Don't be shy by the way if there's a particular render you like/dislike/want recut. I feel like my sizing has been getting more consistent, but sometimes its hard to know (or the original render doesn't lend itself).

That's all to say I'd love to hear some feedback and am curious to know if any of these are actually making their way into anyone's games. There are a ton of great renders hitting the board right now--so I don't expect to be anything more than a drop in the bucket. 

I'm not sure how many fellow "blue-backers" there are out there either. If there is an outpouring for full pngs or gif cuts, let me know that too.  Thanks all!

I think they are great! Keep it up. I have saved TCW and will do MAW soon. Looking forward to seeing what you do with CWA and NYCW. Those 4 are usually my go to's for games. I especially like Masked Mauler and Warlord Hate and Fear.

Thanks for the feedback Shifty! Appreciate it. Just so happens that NYCW is about halfway done and the next planned release. 

 

CWA was the first promotion I started with and overall I'm pretty happy with what I did for those renders (a few might be in the General Render AI Thread). I do plan to go back and finish that company soon (as well as recut the ones I already did as they don't quite match since they were so early on in my process).

This is the first time anyone has express an interest in the pngs--but I'm definitely happy to provide them. After I post NYCW I will bundle all the renders and the pngs together and make a downloadable folder. If there's a couple you'd like sooner, PM me an I'll get them off to you. 🙂

I'm in the process of re-working my entire pictures folder because - I have a problem.  I can't let good images go to waste, so even if I have an image for someone, I then move on to earlier or later years.

Your images are really good, so I'm sure they getting use one way or another.  Overall, very good consistency.  If I had one critique, and it is probably as much a personal preference as anything else, occasionally some of the sizing/framing of an image is a bit of a step down for me.  For example, in your MAW roster, everyone looks good-to-great with the exception of Josh Jacobs and that is only because of cut of that one.

 

And definitely team blue-back here...

 Thanks--that's great feedback and is something I am well aware of and fighting to get more consistent with. In the case of JJ, the image I liked best of him was so zoomed in that I struggled getting him to match. As I continue on this process and go through, images like that will either be replaced or recut as I go. Thanks again for that!
