WWE Smackdown! WWE Smackdown! Friday, September Week 1, 2006 Live from The University of Houston Attendence: 9,070 Smackdown kicks off with a video about all the great things that have happened on the show throughout it's history. At the end of the video it says: Smackdown Goes Live Again....UP NEXT! Grade- B+ vs. Smackdown's new era gets kicked off by agruably it's biggest superstar, The Undertaker heading down to the ring. Throughout his whole entrance William Regal looks scared to death to have to face the deadman. This was a suprising good match that turned into a slugfest. Not many men can go blow for blow with Taker, but Regal proved that his dirty fighting experience could combat The Undertaker. The match finally swung in Taker's favor as Regal telegraphed a back drop and Taker caught him with a kick to the face followed by a Tombstone Piledriver to get a hard fought victory. Winner- The Undertaker Grade- B+ As The Undertaker was in the ring celebrating his victory a dark figure was seen sneaking up into the ring and drilled Taker in the head with a forign object. As the lights came back on it was revealed to be Finlay, and he was wielding his shillelagh, looking satisfied at taking down a true legend. Grade- B A video is playing showing the recent happenings between King Booker and Batista. He must have drawn the short straw in this one becuase he had to face the very dangerous Sylvester Terkay. Yang almost got some offense in, by trying a double axe handle off the top, but Terkay knocked him out of midair with a clothesline. Terkay then locked in a submission and it was over. Winner- Sylvester Terkay Grade- C- After the match the cameras go over to the announce table where JBL and Michael Cole begin talking about the magnitude of tonight's main event between Ken Kennedy and Bobby Lashley. They also talk about how these two are the future of Smackdown and should be headlining this show for a long time. Grade- B- The familar eerie clips of The Boogeyman starts to play, with the ever popular catch phrase, "I'm the Boogeyman, and I'm comin' to getcha!" Then the text reads, The Boogeyman returns next month. Grade- C- King Booker comes out to address his loyal subjects. He says a time of peace and tranquility is now upon the Smackdown roster now that he tamed The Animal at SummerSlam. He then stands from his throne and pyro comes out of the back of it while Queen Sharmell repeats the phrase, "All Hail King Booker!" Fairy tale time is broken up though with some heavy explosions.... He drags him throughout the arena beating him from pillar to post. He then puts the exclamation point on the whole situation by giving King Booker a spinebuster through the catering table in the back. Idol Stevens and KC James dominated the match most of the way through, but The Pitbulls, Noble and Kash, outsmarted their competition. Idol and James hit a devestating move on Funaki, but The Pitbulls threw both men out of the ring following it and pinned Funaki to become number one contenders. Winners and Number One Contenders: The Pitbulls Grade- C JBL conducts an interview with the US Champion, Mr. Kennedy. Kennedy points out that this match is No Holds Barred, which makes him even more dangerous. He thinks everybody should put money on him keeping his title tonight. Grade- B Batista is shown backstage, and says that if he did not make it clear enough before, then he is making it official now. He wants King Booker one on one and wants to bring the World Heavyweight Championship back home. Grade- A vs. This match turned out to be a template that other superstars can look up to, to see what a good match should look like. This features many technically sound moves, and many innovated moves. Every time it looked like Rey was going to put Helms away, he would come back, and vice versa. The match was then ruined by Chavo Guerrero who leveled Rey with a chairshot behind the ref's back, allowing Gregory Helms to pick up the cheap victory over Rey. Winner- Gregory Helms Grade- B+ After the match was over Chavo continued the beatdown and claimed that Rey was trying to bank off the Guerrero name, and he was going to put an end to it. Thank you very much for the reply sir. Amen on the realism factor, when in real life would you see Richards beat Dupree. Maybe in a real ECW that would happen, but remember this is WWECW, not old school ECW. My main purpose for ECW is to build WWE stars for the future, not to relive the good ole' days.

ECW Preview From ECW.com
Last night on Raw, Paul Heyman made an unwelcomed stop into WWE and announced that ECW was planning a full out attack on WWE to take over the top spot from them. Then Vince McMahon responded by saying that he has crushed ECW before, he will do it again. And the Chairman of WWE also added the eerie message of, See you tommorow night. Does Mr. McMahon have the guts to step into the house of extreme, and if he does, what does ECW have in store for him. Find this out and much more on ECW on Sci Fi.
