Saturday Week 2 June, 2006 Jeopardy In June
Welcome To The Main Event The Pay Per View opened with the announcers talking about the final match in the three match series of Jeremy stone and Sean McFly. They talked about the respect the two men have for each other and how their previous matches tore the house down. Rating: B+
Owen Love vs Harrison Hash vs Harrison Hash showed his all in the opening match of the night against Owen “Dr.” Love. Although Owen managed to mount a small offense in the beginning he just couldn’t stand up to the technical assault mounted by Hash. Has finished off the average match showing off his finisher Leg Lock Roll up to which Owen tapped out before the ref could count the three. Rating: C
Women’s Rights and Men In Tights The announce team was at it again as the ring was cleared and the refs switched out. They took the time to talk about the feud going on between Victoria Stone and newly formed women’s Lib against The Mountain. Tommy London recapped the cheating loss and dastardly attacks by The Mountain Men and the heroism of the women for standing up for them. Tom Townsend of course said the women had no place being in the ring and if they wanted equality they’d get beat up like everyone else. Rating: C+
The Natural vs Johnny Bloodstone vs The second of the matches to prove who should truly be in line for the #1 contendership of the NOTBPW Canadian Title saw Johnny Bloodstone take on The Natural. Like his rival before him Johnny Bloodstone really took it to The Natural tying him up in knots. The finishing move that Bloodstone used to finish off his opponent was a pretzel of a leg lock just called The Ultimate Leg Lock. Rating: C+
Dan Stone Jr. vs Alysian Scotsfield vs Dan Stone was up next and he got his shot at proving his worth against the wily veteran Alysian Scotsfield. Whereas Hash and Bloodstone were defiantly the leader in offense in their matches, Dan Stone Jr. was completely dominant in his. Alysian Scotsfield never landed a blow on Dan who completely out manuavered him. The match ended in just over seven minutes when Stone forced Scotsfield to tap out to the Cobra Clutch. Rating: B
Sticks and Stones and Angels No More AS the momentum of the show built the Announcers prepared the fans for more of what’s to come, recapping the battle between Dark Angel and Duane Stone. Tommy talked about both men and their training in Japan with their similar styles. He said Dark Angel was defiantly a worthy foe but as a Stone he gave the advantage to Duane. Tom Townsend harrumphed at Tom’s comments calling him a dreamer, saying not only was Dark Angel a better competitor but he had his ace in the hole, yes man, Harry Wilson. Rating: B
Freddie Datsun vs Black Hat Bailey vs The next match in the evening was a grudge match from the US as the scheduled two former SWF workers came out. Black Hat Bailey was out first and as easily recognizable as he got a lot of boos from the crowd. Next out was Freddie Datsun also recognizable to the crowd as the fan favorite, everyman. The match was mostly ground based with a lot of exciting holds, locks and pins which the crowd got into. The match ended with the Bailey Breaker applied to Freddie Datsun and as the ref paid attention to Datsun, Bailey would use the ropes to apply more pressure and finally get his opponent to tap out. Rating: C+
Muscle Bound Mayhem Again there was more hype work for the announcers as they poke about the strong man challenge between R.K. Hayes and Mighty Cavanagh. Townsend was the first to speak up this time as he laid it on thick about how Hayes is a former NOTBPW Canadian Champion and Cavanagh is a nobody with a good look. Tommy said he had to agree that Hayes has a distinguished past but young Cavanagh is actually a former bodybuilder and as this is supposed to be a test of strength that Cavanagh definitely has a chance. He’s not called Mighty Cavanagh for nothing. Rating: B-
Mighty Cavanagh vs R.K. Hayes vs Then we had the match a brutal and intense brawl between these two heavyweight powerhouses. There was absolutely no clear leader through out the match and one would think Cavanagh had been wrestling for years and not months with the way he was standing toe to toe with the veteran Hayes. The ending was a quick and dirty Axe Kick right after a low blow unseen by the ref, a cheap but efficient win for R.K. Hayes. Rating: B-
I Am The Strongest As Cavanagh was being helped from the ring R.K. Hayes got the Mic and declared himself the Strongest of all time. He wanted the world to know that in NOTBPW that he is the true powerhouse as he’s proven time and again. Hayes let them know that this was just one more notch in his built of victories that would continue from here on out. Rating: B
Victoria Stone vs Mammoth vs We continued on to a quick match that the fans on partially got behind. Victoria Stone and Mammoth had no cohesion in the ring and it made the match come over even more awkwardly then it would have if the size and style differences were the only thing these two had to deal with. Victoria Stone ran rings around Mammoth who got only one minute of offense in the seven minute match up finally getting frustrated. This was the point that the McWade Brothers slid a chair into the Super Heavyweight and he laid Victoria Stone out with it. The ref called for the bell quickly and tried to get the chair away from Mammoth but he got beaned as well. Rating: C
Mountains Come Crashing Down The attack on Victoria Stone wasn’t over as The McWade Brothers got in the ring and helped Mammoth put the boots to Victoria. This only llasted about a minute or so until Melody Cuthill and Helen Wheels hit the ring and used their speed and agility to get off enough hit and run attacks to make the Mountain Men hit the road. Rating: C
Duane Stone vs Dark Angel vs The fans expected a lot from Daune Stone and Dark Angel and they got exactly what they expected. A lot of traditional fans don’t go much for a lot of high flying but when you not only fly but brawl and lock up on the mat like Duane and Angel did traditional fans can be stunned by the variety of moves. On top of the pure skill that both men showed they had such a connection in the ring that even the occasional no sell seemed to be apart of the match. The match was so great that the fans seemed not even to expect the ref distraction by Dark Angel to let Harry Wilson sneak to ring side and catch Duane Stone pulling his neck down onto the top rope. Seeing his moment Dark Angel stopped talking to the ref and caught Duane on the rebound with the Descent Into Hell, his trademark Double Underhook Facebuster. Rating: A*
Evil Always Beats Twice Dark Angel and Harry Wilson took quite a few minutes after the match to give a huge beating to the losing Stone. Even the refs couldn’t get them to stop until they wanted to, which was when they left the ring leaving Duane bloody and beaten. Rating: C+
Jeremy Stone vs Sean McFly vs As if one great match in a night wasn’t enough we got Jeremy Stone versus Sean McFly three. Once gain both men walked into the ring friends and gave each other their due, and then they proceeded to open up the biggest can of whupass known to man. The match saw almost every wrestling move known to man and few that may have just been invented on the spot. With the title on the line the match was defiantely all or nothing for both men and it showed. Jeremy Stone just couldn’t put one over on Sean McFly who finally got off his Delorean Driver to get the pin and his third win. Rating: A*
All Good Things With the match over Sean McFly puts out a hand to help Jeremy Stone off the mat and then raises his hand as a sign that they are both winners. Sean even goes so far to let Jeremy hold the belt high as a show of respect. Rating: A*

Roger talks about what went down last week amongst Elite and The DeColts. Alex accepted Eddie Chandler’s challenge, and DaLay and Maverick seeming to have caused the loss. As soon as they finished, the Varsity Boys headed down to the ring and crossed their arms as they posed. The female fans greeted them with cheers and woops as they then climbed the turnbuckles. Their opponents headed out next, firstly Grimm Quibble. He bounced down the entrance ramp and climbed in, yelling abuse at both of the Varsity Boys, saying that his partner was ‘The Messiah of Canada’. The Varsity Boys then both had shocked expressions, as they knew who he meant, one of the most prominent men in the Canadian indy scene….Raphael. He appeared on the ramp to several boos throughout the crowd. I'm usually not a huge fan of the DeColts but I like the way you are using them. And I really like the Poisonous Machine tag team, I was hoping when Maverick and Chandler were spouting off, that the upstart team of Technique and Poison would make an appearance... but alas I was utterly dreaming. And I'd really like to see a Harry Wilson/Cliff Wilson feud. I think that if someone could do that right it would be one of the better things to read.

Alex DeColt vs. Eddie Chandler For the CGC World Title (30-Minute Ironman, Elite & DeColts banned from ringside, TLC match) These men have been at each other's throats for the past couple of weeks, will either man prove what he has been boasting? They will make their presence felt real soon, trust me.

Really enjoying this diary both the NOTBPW and the CGC stuff. It would be interesting to see if a genuine main event star, can be built in NOTBPW who is not the Stones, Dark Angel or R.K Hayes. I think by the looks of things the recently acquired Johnny Bloodstone has the best chance of breaking out from mid-card pack. I've noticed Dark Angel's finisher the Descent into Hell is a double under-hook facebuster...sounds like you got the inspiration from Christopher Daniel's Angel Wings ;) Regarding the CGC diary...I think everyone books Ryan Powell as the c***y up-start, at least what i've seen from a few CGC diaries on here. That picture though makes him look like he should be running with a simpleton gimmick.

New Player To The Game The first show after the pay per view and Sean McFly is in the ring; he called out Jeremy Stone and extended his hand as a further show of respect for his friend. It looked like the two had more to say until R.K. Hayes came tearing out from backstage. Hayes beat down both men as a four figure came out from backstage as well. The sleazy looking man came into the ring and R.K. Hayes stopped beating the two men. R.K. Hayes took the time to talk about how he had proven that he is the strongest and he intends on getting his shot whether McFly likes it or not and Jeremy Stone gets absolutely no say in the matter seeing as he’s a loser. He had a bit og help on the mic from the man in the ring with him who he called his new agent, herb Stately. Rating: A* Hadshake, A* Attack, A Hype

The match was sub par but it wasn’t really the fault of Owen and The Natural just the fact that both teams are slightly less then well known by the Canadian fans. Talent Unlimited seem ed particularly strong and really had control of the match. Owen “Dr, Love” finally put Gregg Boone out of his misery by having him tap out to the Chiropractic Stretch. With a nod both men laid into Dan Stone and Tom Townsend commented that if they take out their competition then it’ll just be the two of them when it comes to the end. It turned out there was help for Stone as Mighty Cavanagh ran out to the ring for the save driving off both Hash and Bloodstone. The match was pretty fluid back and forth with the McWades using brute force tactics and Women’s lib dodging and weaving hitting with shots to the knee and submission attempt when the mountain men hit the floor. It actually looked like Women’s Lib was going to take the win when Helen Wheels latched a sleeper on to Dallas McWade but Dean hit her with a chair and the ref called for the DQ. Flash and Westybrook had The McWade Brothers run of pretty quickly and as they ran to the back they almost flew headlong into Victoria Stone. Victoria said that she was sure getting themselves DQ’d was Mammoth idea and she was calling him out for round two if he as man enough. Rating: C- Attack, B Challenge

Townsend said that Bloodstone and hash were smart for trying to take out Stone and that Might Cavanagh had no place in this whole thing. London pointed out that Bloodstone and Hash’s attack sneaky and underhanded and Cavanagh was a hero for trying to save Stone. They then wen t on to say that at NOTBPW Mid Summer Madness Mighty Cavanagh would team with Dan Stone Jr. against Johnny Bloodstone and Harrison Hash. Rating: B-
Not Some Punk Freddie Datsun was the next out to the ring and he said that he came to say that he wasn’t going to go softly and that he wants a rematch against Black Hat Bailey. Bailey didn’t respond and after a minute Datsun called him a coward and threw down the mic, heading to the back. Rating: C+

The match was all Duane who seemed really fluid but Derek Frost gave it that kind of robotic pre-planned look. Duane Stone showed Frost From Canada With Love, his killer Heel Kick to the Jaw. Rating: C+
Why Angel, Why Duane Stone took a Mic after his big win and he called out Dark Angel and Harry Wilson. Hayes. Westybrook came to the ring with beautiful girl-next-door from the indy scene Vita at his side. The match was a back and forth brawl with each man getting as much advantage as the next blow for blow, power shot for power shot. R.K. Hayes was once again the victor with his brutal Axe Kick to the back of Westybrook’s head for the pin. Rating: B
Can’t Catch Me Black Hat Bailey appeared in the ring to tell Datsun that he’s going to have to earn a shot if he wants one, so next week he’d better get a win under his belt or else he’d never see a rematch. Rating: C
Even More Matches Tommy London and Tom Townsend were back to tell us about a match made for next week. They said Dark Angel and Harry Wilson would be taking on Duane Stone and a partner of his choice. Both men speculated on partners Tommy picking Dan Stone Jr. and Townsend saying now that Jeremy Stone was deposed from his number one contender spot he’d need to find something to do and this would be it. Rating: B

Dan Stone Jr. and Sean McFly went back and froth for more than twenty minutes in a brawling, technical, high flying match to the death. The Stone still couldn’t seem to recapture the belt as Sean McFly beat Dan with the Delorean Driver, but that didn’t seem to bother Dan who was obviously just in it for the chance to show his stuff.
Dan Stone Jr. vs Sean McFly vs The Main Event was another match with a Stone in it and as usual it blew the roof off the place. Sadly I'll dispell any rumors of hiring any of your picks Tiger. AE and The Monkey are always top on my list along with Champagne Lover and Dog fyte so I wanted to steer away from them this time around. Although I obviously did pick up two of my other favorties Westybrook and Flash because I love using them in Canada.
