Cougars ready for the Wildcats The 9-2 BYU Cougars are ready to square off against the 7-5 Arizona Wildcats. According to the match up screen, BYU is an 8 point favorite, but the Wildcats are shown as having an overall advantage, as indicated by the symbols used by the game (<), of <<< (positive 3). On offense, Arizona is a 1 (<) advantage. The Wildcats are ranked 38th in the nation in offense as they have averaged 405.7 yards per game. In comparison, BYU is ranked 25th in the nation in offense with an average of 422.7 yards per game. On defense they are listed as having a 2 (<<) advantage. They are ranked 23rd in the nation with an average of 338.1 yards per game. BYU comes into the game ranked 17th, giving up an average of 333.3 yards per game. The game lists the key match up as being between RB Dean Dawson (825 yards on 172 carries - 4.8 ypc) and a BYU defense that is ranked 3rd nationally against the run. I am excited for the upcoming game and think that we should match up well against the Wildcats. My goal at the start of the season was to be bowl eligible and thankfully I far exceeded that goal. Getting to 10 wins was not something I thought possible at the start of the year, but it sure would be a great way to end the year. GO COUGARS :)

Wildcats Maul Cougars 42-3 What a downright horrible game for BYU. From the very first play of the game, I knew it was going to be bad. It started with a 55 yard interception for a TD and got progressively worse from there – if such a thing were possible. By halftime, we were down 35-0 and we had lost 4 starters to injuries: QB John Wills, DT John Wade, CB Jason Schultz, and SS Ramon Holiday. On the day, BYU was able to amass a total of 182 yards – a whopping 41 of which came via passing. It is obvious that I had better hope that I am able to recruit a QB who can start right away as the QB’s I have for next year are not looking all that great. While it was a good first season (going 9-3), it was a really a terrible way to end. It will be interesting to see who I am able to recruit and how many holes I am able to plug. Overall, I would say that I am very impressed by the game (BBCF) and look forward to many more hours of fun.

2006-2007 Off Season Now the playoffs are over, I have proceeded to the off-season portion of the game in preparation of the 2007 NCAA season. The BYU Cougars finished the season 9-3, with a conference record of 6-2. Both of the conference losses were to bowl teams (Utah and San Diego State. The team MVP was All-American FS James Scott. Letter from A.D.
From: AD Subject: 2006-2007 Financial Constraints You will have $1,945,000 available for your athletic budget. This marks a change of $65,000 from last season. Remember, this money needs to go towards scouting, assistants, other staff and medical training. You will also have $49,500 to spend on recruiting actions each week. Your weekly recruiting budget may also be impacted by efforts put into bringing other college-level transfers and is based on the alumni funding, other outside donations (helped by our prestige) and the number of scholarships available. So, good luck and spend wisely. Your job may depend on it.
At least they raised my budget a little, though I am sure another good season will bring even more $$$ :)

It has been almost a year since my laptop died an I lost this game. Reading through the thread has made me realize (once again) just how fun and addictive this game really is. While I no longer have my elicnese ID, I am in the process of trying to have access to the game once again. Here's hoping to a successful 2007 football season :)

Here is my dilemma. I have the game again and would like to continue with the franchise, yet because of hard drive failure, I do not have a copy of the save file. So, my choice is to "replay" the 2006 season and pretend that it never happened, or start in 2007 and ignore the fact that all my stats are not "accurate." Thoughts?
Start fresh
Thanks for taking a look. I have decided to restart the league using 2006. I think starting over is the best way to go. What I will do is edit my previous posts to reflect what occurs. This way I don't take up extra space on the boards and eliminates any confusion of having 2 "2006" seasons.
