News
Breaking news out of TNA. On the heels of naming a new head booker for their promotion, TNA has let it be known that they have been in serious negotiations with their network, SpikeTV, about a number of things. Impact's contract is set to expire with SpikeTV at the end of the month, so the most important thing is renewing the contract with them. They are also in negotiations with them about aquiring a two-hour slot for Impact. The biggest change as of now is that TNA has asked, and recieved the right to show Impact live, meaning that they will no longer be taping blocks of Impact every couple of Mondays, they will be having a live Impact every Thursday night. It is not known if this change will be permanent, or if it is just until they aquire a two hour show. In other Impact news, TNA has requested to be taken off television on RDS and Bravo2, as they want to focus on building on their domestic popularity before they branch off to other countries. More on these news items as they become available.

News
News Wire for 2/2/07: Last night WWE put on a fairly good Monday Night Raw, which saw Melina defend her WWE Women's Championship against Mickie James, Umaga defend his Intercontinental Championship against Jeff Hardy, and the main event saw Edge defeat Ric Flair. The show brought in a rating of 24.42. WWE put their wrestlers on notice that massive roster cuts would be made in the coming weeks, and it started on Monday as the following workers were handed their walking papers: Vickie Guerrero, Little Bastard, Trinity, Josh Matthews, Todd Grisham, Jonathan Coachman, Jim Korderas, Chad Patton, Charles Robinson, Theodore Long, Eric Bischoff, Torrie Wilson, Sgt. Slaughter and Pat Patterson. Also, word is coming out of WWE that numerous wrestlers have been moved to the ECW brand to help even out WWE's three brand system. The most notable are Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, and Umaga. In TNA news, they have announced that TNA Impact has been canceled on the RDS and Bravo 2 networks, as TNA requested. This was not due to the networks wanting to get rid of TNA, it is that TNA did not want to be shown on a foreign network until they become more popular around America. There is also word coming in that TNA Owner Dixie Carter has laid down some rules for her new head booker Sam Haynes. She stated that she is in the business to make money, and she expects TNA to have 2.5 million dollars in two years time. She also stated that no wrestlers will be hired that do not known their way around the ring, as it makes TNA look amateurish. (B- or above in basics) She also stated that TNA tries to appeal to a wide audience, so she will not tolerate the hiring, or re-signing of any worker that is known to have a drinking problem. New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced that it has dropped it's brand split, and has unified it's roster once again. Current ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima defeated Mitsuharu Misawa for the GHC Heavyweight Title, which is his first reign on top of Pro Wrestling NOAH. Morishima is looking very impressive lately, and has plenty of gold to show for it. In Dragon Gate, Cima became the Open the Dream Gate Champion for the first time in his career by beating Susumu Mochizuki. Finally, Milano Collection AT added IWA: Mid South Champion to his list of accomplishments, as last night he defeated Darbin Corbin to become IWA:MS Champion for the first time in his career. Look back here tomorrow for updates on any WWE superstars to be let go, and we will have ECW results. Also check back for ongoing negotiations between TNA and Spike TV in regards to TNA acquiring a two hour spot on Spike.
News
Newswire for 2/3/07: Many feel like last night's ECW on Sci Fi may have been the best ECW put on since they returned earlier last year. This is due to the new talent brought into the brand, and now they feel more like a brand extention to the WWE, instead of a developmental territory. Three impressive matches occured, as Bobby Lashley beat The Sandman, The Undertaker beat Rob Van Dam, and in the main event Umaga defeated CM Punk. The show brought in a 15.04 rating. WWE continued their cuts, as today they fired the following people: Kelly Kelly, Ashley, Jillian, Kristal, Paul Heyman, Scott Armstrong, Chris Kay, Jack Doan, Candice Michelle, Brooke, Maria, John Laurinatis, Gerald Briscoe. News
Smackdown was taped on a new night last night, for the first time, WWE started regularly taping Smackdown on a Wednesday night. The tapings saw the debut of Vladimir Koslov, as he destroyed Paul London. Chavo Guerrero defended his Cruiserweight Championship against Funaki, Chris Benoit defended his United States Championship against MVP and Joey Mercury, and Batista retain the World Heavyweight Championship against King Booker in a very busy edition of Smackdown. The WWE firings are starting to slow down, but people will still released today, and the biggest name to be released so far happened today, as WWE parted ways with former WWE Champion, Mick Foley. The following workers were cut free from their contracts: Michelle McCool, Queen Sharmell, Ariel, Mick Foley, Donald Trump, Dean Malenko, and Blackjack Lanza. Keep checking back for furthur WWE releases, and the ongoing negotiations between TNA and SpikeTV.

Got rid of the UKs opportunity to watch TNA? You are not my favourite person, Mr Shaynes23! We need wrestling over here! Help us out!
That was a very hard decision, but at the current time I don't have enough Popularity there to bring in any ratings at all, and I would have got booted from the airwaves most likely. Once I build up a bigger fanbase in America I will expand back out to an international promotion.

February 4, 2007 Live from Universal Studios in Orlando Attendance: 1,000 The opening video for TNA Impact on SpikeTV opens up this broadcast, and after the opening video, a graphic appears on the screen revealing the main event for tonight’s Impact: Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels versus Christian Cage and A.J. Styles. Mike Tenay This is an epic main event matchup here on Impact tonight. We will see The Olympic Gold Medallist, Kurt Angle team up with Christopher Daniels, who is making his return to action here in TNA, after a short time away from his home promotion. They will be taking on the most decorated athlete in the history of TNA, A.J. Styles, and the current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Christian Cage. Don West This is going to be amazing folks! Four of the greatest in-ring competitors in the industry today will be in that ring tonight, and you can be sure that this match will ultimately play into the NWA Championship picture. Now let’s go to Jim Cornette’s office, where Cornette has a special announcement regarding our next pay-per-view, Against All Odds. Grade: B+ Jim Cornette is sitting at his desk as the camera is in his office, and he quickly begins to address the fans in the Impact Zone, and those watching live on SpikeTV. Jim Cornette Good evening ladies and gentlemen, I’m going to make this quick, because this is only an hour show and nobody wants to here me flap my gums for half of it. As you all know, TNA Against All Odds is coming up in less then two weeks, and of right now, there is nobody challenging Christian Cage for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. That is all about to change, because I searched the TNA talent roster high and low, and I have picked one of the meanest motor scooters, and baddest go getters in that locker room to challenge Christian one-on-one at the pay-per-view. This man is a former NWA World Heavyweight Champion in his own right, and he is in action right now, this man is Rhino! Grade: B- vs. w/ Rhino versus Robert Roode w/ Ms. Brooks This match got off to a quick start, as Rhino came out of the tunnel pumped up after being named number one contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. He dominated Roode early and often. He was setting Roode up for the Rhino Driver, when Ms. Brooks stands up on the apron and distracts Rhino. Roode then recovers and goes for a Northern Lariat on Rhino, but he moves, then Gores Roode, pinning him fairly easily. Winner: Rhino Time: 4:57 Grade: C w/ vs. Abyss w/ James Mitchell versus Norman Smiley Impact comes back from commercial with Norman Smiley standing in the ring, then Abyss and James Mitchell make their way to the ring for this matchup. Smiley avoids Abyss for a little while, and catches him off guard with a dropkick, then starts to dance. When he turns around he is met with a clothesline, followed by the Black Hole Slam from Abyss. Winner: Abyss Time: 3:57 Grade: B+ James Mitchell then enters the ring with a microphone, and quickly begins to address the crowd. James Mitchell You all just saw the destructive power of my personal monster, Abyss. And he will be putting those powers on display in less than two weeks at Against All Odds. We have spoken to Jim Cornette, and have been granted a matchup. My monster Abyss will be going against a thorn in his side, the so called legend, the man called Sting. Sting, you have been sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong for far too long, and Abyss is going to put an end to it once and for all. Then Abyss will be back on his way to regaining the NWA World Championship, which he unrightfully lost. Sting, Abyss will take you to his personal Hell, and this time, there will be no return for the Icon. Grade: B- Mike Tenay appears on screen, sitting behind his desk, addressing the crowd at home in regards to the upcoming matchup. Mike Tenay This next matchup we are going to see has major implications for Against All Odds. This will be a triple threat match between three great X Division superstars, and the winner of this upcoming match will face off with X Division Champion Chris Sabin at the pay-per-view, where the championship will be up for grabs. Grade: E+ vs. vs. Petey Williams versus Jay Lethal versus Alex Shelley Number One Contendership for the X Division Title This is a very fast paced matchup, after one move, then another competitor would come in and follow that up with another move. This happened for a good amount of time, then it looked like Petey Williams was going to put it away with the Canadian Destroyer, but Alex Shelley came in and broke it up. The ending came out of nowhere, when Alex Shelley and Petey Williams went to double suplex Jay Lethal, and he flipped over the top of them, and rolled them both up, getting the pin simultaneously on both men to go onto the title match at Against All Odds. Winner: Jay Lethal Time: 7:53 Grade: C+ Jeremy Borash appears backstage, and he is standing with VKM, who looks like they have something to say. Jeremy Borash I’m standing here with Kip and BG James, and guys, what did you make me come here for? BG James It’s real simple JB, we have an announcement to make. Nobody will argue the fact that we are one of the greatest tag teams in the history of wrestling, and come Against All Odds, we are going to prove that fact, and we have an idea on how we are going to go about that, tell em’ Kip. Kip James Okay, here it goes, turn your hearing aides up folks, this is gonna be important. Konnan! There is only one way to prove that we are the best tag team of all time, we have to wear some gold. Now we know your boys Homicide and Hernandez are two bad men, but they don’t have the experience that me and BG have, so consider this an official challenge. At Against All Odds, we are challenging the Latin American Exchange for the NWA World Tag Team Championships, and we plan to take them by any means necessary. And if you’re not down with that…….Ahhh forget it, they already ruined that saying. Let’s go BG. Grade: C- vs. Samoa Joe versus Austin Starr This match was very fast paced, with both men getting in moves on each other. The turning point came very quickly in the match, as Starr took Samoa Joe down with a suplex, then went for the pendulum elbow drop, but he missed, and Joe quickly locked in the Koquina Clutch, and Starr quickly tapped out. Winner: Samoa Joe Time: 3:44 Grade: B- Samoa Joe then grabs a microphone from ringside, and gets ready to speak to the Impact Zone. Samoa Joe I have had one question on my mind lately. I thought I got rid of Scott Steiner? Yet he still showed his ugly face back here in TNA Wrestling. Scotty Boy, what am I going to have to do to cleanse TNA of the scum that you are? I believe I know the answer to that. It’s going to be me and you at Against All Odds, but it will not be an ordinary matchup, this will be a hardcore match, and Scott, let me tell you something, you are not going to be walking out of this match, and if I have my way, you will not be showing your face on TNA Television for a very long time to come, and Samoa Joe will go on to win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship! Grade: B vs. Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels versus Christian Cage and A.J. Styles This match was a who’s who of TNA stars. Daniels and Styles started the match off brawling, as they have a history of bad blood behind them. Styles and Cage eventually isolate Daniels from his partner, and double team him repeatedly, as Daniels cannot make his way to Angle. Daniels finally gets the hot tag into Angle, who comes in and hits repeated german suplexes and belly to belly suplexes to both men. He finally runs out of steam as Cage catches him from behind. The two men then throw Daniels out of the ring, and he falls awkwardly on his leg, and the referee is forced to go check on him. This opens the way for Rhino to charge down to the ring, and he gets Christian in his sights, but Cage side steps the Gore, but Rhino connects with a Gore on A.J. Styles, and Kurt Angle covers Styles as Christian quickly runs the other way, and he gets the victory in the main event with an assist from Rhino. Winners: Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels Grade: B- Match Time: 10:42 Rhino quickly gets back in the ring and kicks Styles out of it, as he stares a hole through Christian, who is standing near the tunnel, clutching his NWA World Heavyweight Championship very tightly, and Impact goes off the air with Rhino motioning that he is going to take the title from Christian at Against All Odds Grade: B- Overall Grade: B-

News
News Wire for 2/5/07: WWE continued their firings by releasing four more superstars from their roster today, this time the list was: Dave Taylor, Layla El, Michael Hayes, and Tim White Word is coming out of TNA that their idea of a two hour show was shot down by SpikeTV, as they would not even think about it, as they feel that the industry is not strong enough for it right now. They are willing to talk about renewing TNA Impact as a one hour show, which TNA is happy with. They do have a backup plan though, as it has been discovered that TNA has contacted TNT about a two hour show. It is a longshot, but TNT may be looking to get back into the wrestling industry after a very successful run with WCW Nitro, more on the ongoing saga of TNA programming as it becomes available. Speaking of TNA Impact, the rating is in for their first live Imact broadcast, and the verdict is a 9.08. At that Impact there were two dark matches that the fans at home did not see. It was reported that Eric Young beat A1 in the first matchup, then Team 3D defeated Serotonin. ROH held it's weekly house show, which was a big sucess for them, and the main event was a very good matchup, as Takeshi Morishima defended his ROH World Championship against Brent Albright. Stay tuned to find out if more WWE releases will occur, and to following the journey of TNA to find a television network that will host a two hour show for them, or find out if they will fall back on their current SpikeTV contract and stick with the one hour format. WWE's developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling crowned three new champions last night, as former TNA star Cassidy Riley began his first reign as Television Champion. The team, A Pair of Aces, which consists of Harry Smith and Mark Canterbury captured the Tag Team Titles, and Beth Phoenix won the Women's Championship. Be sure to check back to see if there are any more WWE firings, and to see the ongoing saga of TNA trying to get a two hour show.
One has to wonder when these firings will come to a stop as everybody in WWE is on edge right now. In news from across the pond, KSW crowned a new champion, as recent aquisition Alex Shane won KSW's Great British Championship for the first time in his career. In the catagory of news of the weird, SHIMMER put out a contract offer to Paul Heyman, who quickly turned it down, as he wants to work for a bigger promotion. No news yet on the ongoing contract negotiations between TNA, SpikeTV, and TNT, but we will let you know when any progress is made towards either TNA Impact getting renewed on SpikeTV, or getting a two hour show on TNT. Melina defended her Women's Title against Mickie James yet again. John Cena and Shawn Michaels defended the World Tag Team Championship against The World's Greatest Tag Team, and Umaga defended his Intercontinental Championship against Carlito. The main event saw four young WWE superstars, as Chris Masters and Kenny Dykstra defeated Jeff Hardy and Johnny Nitro. The show got a 26.64, which was almost a whole point down from last week's rating. TNA has recieved an anwser from SpikeTV about Impact, but TNA officials are waiting on an answer from TNT before they accept anything from SpikeTV. Christopher Daniels proved his loyalty to TNA, as WWE offered him a developmental deal through Deep South Wrestling, but Daniels said that he would rather stick with TNA and ROH then work his way through WWE's system. News
Newswire for 2/10/07: Breaking news out of TNA. They have recieved word that TNT feels that TNA is not big enough to air on their network, and have declined their request to appear on TNT. This means that TNA has gone into frantic negotiations with SpikeTV to renew their one hour show with them, as it seems the dream of a two hour Impact has died for now. ECW on Sci Fi was a sucess last night, as the two big matches saw Umaga beat CM Punk, and Bobby Lashley defended his ECW World Championship against former champion Rob Van Dam. The show got a rating of 15.11, which is slightly up from their rating last week. Combat Zone Wrestling continues to bring in new talent, and the newest signing is a strange one for CZW, as "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart is the newest CZW talent. In news from Japan, last week Takeshi Morishima won the GHC Heavyweight Title last week, but his reign was stopped before it got rolling, as he was defeated last night for that title by KENTA, who earned his first GHC Heavyweight Title reign. Deep South Wrestling named a new champion last night, as WWE developmental talent Too Cold Scorpio earned his first title reign.
There is trouble for Ohio Valley Wrestling, as the public station they are shown on in Louisville are upset with the abysmal ratings the show has been bringing in. If it doesn't get turned around watch for WWE's number one developmental territory to lose it's TV slot. In news from England, Jody Fleisch won the FWA Heavyweight Championship last night, as he beat Robbie Brookeside. This marks Fleisch's first title reign. Check back in tomorrow for news from TNA Impact, which will be shown live tonight, and to see if any news will be broken on the TNA/SpikeTV negotiations.
February 11, 2007 Live from Universal Studios in Orlando Attendance: 1,000 The opening video of TNA Impact on SpikeTV plays, and the pyro goes off above the ring and on the stage, hyping the crowd up for this big Impact, just 3 days before Against All Odds. Mike Tenay and Don West then chime in, as graphics air for the matchups that will be occurring tonight. Mike Tenay Welcome to this broadcast of TNA Impact here on SpikeTV! This is going to be an action packed episode, just like each and every week of TNA programming. And this week has some added importance, as it is the last show before TNA’s pay per view, Against All Odds. And we have some great matches lined up this week, as we will see X Division Champion Chris Sabin take on Senshi in non-title action. The Samoan Submission Machine will be in action as it will be Samoa Joe versus Alex Shelley. And finally we have a dynamic main event lined up, as it will be Kurt Angle going one on one with A.J. Styles! Don West That match is going to be amazing Mike. Last week we saw AJ and Angle face off with each other in tag team action, but now two of the greatest athletes in TNA history will be going one-on-one, in a match that could main event a pay-per-view. But now we head down to ringside, as A1 is already in the ring, and he is awaiting his opponent for tonight! Grade: C vs. Sting versus A1 This match saw the Canadian muscleman, A1 try to overpower Sting, and out of the gate it looked like he was going to have some success, and even got a two count on Sting with a big powerslam. Sting eventually used his experience to quickly turn the tables and drop A1 with a big DDT, before locking in the Scorpion Death Lock for the submission victory. Winner: Sting Time: 3:54 Grade: C- Sting then grabs the microphone and starts to address the Impact Zone and the many people watching Impact around America. Sting WHOOOO! It’s great to be here in the Impact Zone! It has been brought to my attention that Abyss wants to face me at Against All Odds. Well, I look forward to this matchup, because Abyss, you are the man that took the NWA World Heavyweight Championship from me, and I can never forget that. I am going to take you to the point of no return, and then take that rat that you call a manager, James Mitchell, and I’m going to get rid of him for good. Strap yourselves in, because this Sunday, IT’S SHOWTIME FOLKS! Grade: A vs. Latin American Xchange versus Norman Smiley and Shark Boy This match was not even a contest. Smiley got in a dropkick on Hernandez, but Hernandez quickly pounced on Smiley, almost clotheslining Smiley’s head off of his shoulders. Hernandez then threw Smiley over the top rope, and the two then focused on Shark Boy. Shark Boy tried to fight back, but he was hit with the Cracker Jack on Shark Boy, and that was followed up by the Gringo Killer from Homicide, which got the LAX the easy victory. Winners: Latin American Xchange Time: 3:04 Grade: C+ Homicide then demands a microphone from ringside, and he speaks out for one of the first times he has been a part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Homicide Our leader Konnan couldn’t be here tonight, as he is taking care of LAX business, so I’ll take care of this. BG and Kip James, I’m gonna make this real easy for you white boys. Your challenge for Against All Odds…..you’re on! And that is the gospel of LAX……5150!……BRRRRRRRAH! Grade: C+ vs. Chris Sabin versus Senshi This was a very competitive X Division matchup, with both men hitting fast paced moves, and they both reached into their arsenals and hit signature moves. A turning point came when Senshi scaled the turnbuckles with his back turned to Sabin, and then Sabin rushed him and forced him into the tree of woe position. Sabin then ran at Senshi and hit a beautiful hesitation dropkick. Senshi started wobbling out of the corner, and was met by a Cradle Shock from the X Division Champion, and Sabin picked up a very impressive victory. Winner: Chris Sabin Time: 6:10 Grade: B After the match Chris Sabin starts walking around the ring with his championship, looking very confident in his abilities. Senshi slowly starts to get back to his feet, and when he does he is blasted by a shot from Chris Sabin. Sabin starts to scream at Senshi, when all of a sudden Christopher Daniels runs out from the back. He gets in the face of Chris Sabin, then out of nowhere he starts stomping Senshi! Daniels then goes to the corner, where he hits the Best Moonsault Ever on Senshi, and he poses to the crowd as he heads back to the locker room, as the fans watch on stunned. Grade: C vs. Alex Shelley versus Samoa Joe Alex Shelley had the unenviable position of facing Samoa Joe in this matchup, and came out of the gates looking fairly impressive. He got some stiff kicks in on Joe, and charged at him, but Joe spiked him with a powerslam. After Joe stayed on top of Shelley for a short time he hit him with a Muscle Buster, then locked in the Koquina Clutch, forcing Shelley to tap out very quickly, adding another win for Samoa Joe. Winner: Samoa Joe Time: 3:57 Grade: A Scott Steiner quickly comes out from the back, and charges straight into the ring, where him and Samoa Joe quickly face off, and they fight all the way around the Impact Zone. They fight through the crowd for a few minutes, and Steiner low blowed Samoa Joe, then slammed him hard through a table, forcing security to come out and hold Steiner back from Joe. Grade: B After the brawl is over Jim Cornette appears on screen behind his desk, and addresses the crowd. Jim Cornette Well, now that the little outburst of violence is over, I have some very important announcements regarding Against All Odds coming up this Sunday. We are going to be having two number one contender’s matchups. The first of which will be for the NWA World Tag Team Championships, as we will see one of the all time great teams, Team 3D facing off with a mainstay to the TNA tag team division, The Naturals. Now, the big one is the number one contender’s match for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. I was very impressed with the heart that was just showed out there, so this Sunday, Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner’s match will be for the number one contendership! Now I’ll let you great fans get back to Impact, and I’ll see you all this Sunday at Against All Odds. Grade: B- Rhino’s music plays over the Impact Zone, and The War Machine comes out to thunderous applause, as the fans are behind him in his NWA World Heavyweight Title match this Sunday. Rhino then enters the ring with a microphone and addresses the crowd. Rhino It has been far to long since I have held that NWA World Heavyweight Championship, and even when I wore it, I got screwed out of it just as fast as I won it. Now this Sunday I have my chance to regain the most prestigious championship in all of wrestling. To do so I have to go through my former friend, Christian Cage. Christian and I know each other almost better than we know ourselves, so it is going to come down to who hits the big move, and I have one simple predication for Christian, GORE! GORE! GORE! Rhino’s music then plays again, and he goes around high fiving people at ringside, when all of a sudden, a hooded fan hits Rhino with a foreign object, and he removes his hood to reveal himself as Christian Cage. Cage then pulls his title out and hops the barricade, and holds the title in the air over Rhino, very proud that he just outsmarted his competition for this Sunday. Grade: B vs. Kurt Angle versus A.J. Styles A.J. Styles started off this great main event by avoiding attacks from Kurt Angle, and he was prancing around the ring, bragging that Angle couldn’t catch him. Styles then took Angle down with a clothesline, and started talking smack to the crowd, but Angle shot back up and stood behind Styles. Styles turned around and was met with a belly to belly suplex from Angle. Angle continued to dominate Styles for several minutes, and A.J. searched frantically for an advantage, but could not find one. He finally found one in the form of a Pele Kick. Instead of following up, A.J. went outside and grabbed a chair, and as Angle rose, he was met with a vicious chair shot from Styles, and the referee quickly called for the bell, as the fans were very upset in the way this match ended. Winner by DQ: Kurt Angle Match Time: 6:59 Grade: A A.J. Styles begins prancing around as the crowd showers him with boos. Styles then exits the ring, and starts to head backstage, as Kurt Angle slowly stands up, with a trickle of blood coming down from his head, and he looks very angry. He quickly demands a microphone, and angrily yells at A.J. Styles. Kurt Angle Styles! You gutless piece of garbage, you stop right there, I’ve got something to say to you! Do you think you are a big man hitting me in the head with a steel chair? Guess what A.J., I’m still standing, and I’m not going anywhere! So why don’t you come down her and try to do that again? I didn’t think so. So this Sunday, I’m gonna make you tap, because I want you at Against All Odds! I will get what I want! Oh it’s real, it’s damn real! Grade: B+ Overall Grade: B
