Friday, Wk 4, March Friday, Wk 4, March Live on The Pop! Network Location: NorthWest Attendance: 5,000 Dark Segment- Rich Money and ELITE Arrive Together Grade: B+ Dark Match- The Neptune Twins vs. Suzanne Brazzle/Grace Harper- Women’s Division- In control from the start, Jen and Kathy Neptune impress with some high impact tag team moves, striking with a ‘hart attack’ type tandem clothesline that stops Suzanne Brazzle at around the four minute mark for the three count. Grade: D+ Dark Segment- Backstage Argument- Mainstream Hernandez has his laptop again and is scanning a backstage hallway, looking for Honey Sweet’s office. After stopping and getting some fairly humorous directions from The Latino Kings, Mainstream arrives at the proper door. As he fumbles in the pocket of his navy blue “Mainstream.com” hooded sweatshirt for some breath spray, Eric Tyler pushes by him and knocks on the door. Hernandez clears his throat several times before Tyler even turns around to face him. Even as Tyler gets right into his face, Mainstream remains his usual cool self and attempts to explain his business. “Listen, man, I’ve really only gotta’ talk to the boss lady for a couple of seconds. Just enough time to show her something that the Mainstream.com cameras caught and something that will appear exclusively on Mainstream.com next week. Then, she’s all yours. Ok?” Tyler slowly looks him up and down, tells him in very few words that he, Eric Tyler, is more important, and then spits his gum into Mainstream’s face. “Catch that with your camera, hippie.” Honey Sweet opens her office door just as Hernandez boots Eric Tyler in the junk and, as he whistles a higher tune, she orders them to get into their gear for a match against each other tonight. Grade: B- Dark Segment- Backstage Mystery Attack- The rampage of the ‘backstage mystery attacker” continues with another ko-ing of Sean McFly. Officials scramble to tend to him, being careful to not move him too abruptly. “How many times is this going to happen?” a company doctor wonders aloud. Grade: B+ -Start of Live Broadcast- Segment 1- Modern TV Opening-Duane and Jeremy are backstage in Honey Sweet’s office and they are livid. After their match on Thrillzone two weeks ago ended in a no-finish, ELITE have been making themselves nearly impossible to tie down to get another opportunity. Sweet says that she understands their concerns, and is willing to give them a tag title rematch, but that the Stone’s must agree to ELITE’s previous demand that if they defeat Duane and Jeremy again, that they will have to start again at the bottom of the XWA’s tag ranks and work their way back up before getting another rematch. Duane and Jeremy don’t even look at each other before they both blurt out their answer. Mark it down, ELITE vs. The Stones at “Crowning a Champion”. Grade: B+ SHOW OPEN Segment 2–Backstage Interview w/ Rich Money and ELITE-Dressed in suits, Rich Money, Eddie Chandler, Dan DaLay, and Phil Vibert stand on the backstage interview set with Queen Emily. Vibert, as is his custom with the Queen, cuts her off in mid-sentence and begins hyping Chandler and DaLay’s PPV match with Duane and Jeremy Stone. Then, shifting gears, he boasts that ELITE may be adding more gold soon. Rich Money steps forward into the shot. “That’s right, geeks, Rich Money, he who will be the first XWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, is joining ELITE. There is strength in numbers and now ELITE is four strong. However, if I may, my business tonight concerns the safe return of one Edd Stone to his ‘oh-so-loving’ family. This Sunday, I will get everything I want all at once, a chance to prove myself against Sean McFly, Dan Stone Jr. and a chance at the Unified World Title, so having Edd as an insurance policy of sorts is really no longer important to me. Live on PPV this Sunday night, little Eddy comes home.” Vibert, Chandler, and DaLay laugh. Grade: A Segment 3– Match Request- After returning from a commercial break that featured not one, but two “Crowning a Champion” PPV spots, the cameras are backstage in Honey Sweet’s office. Chris Caulfield has just had Sweet review a video montage of his recent interactions with Eddie Peak on her computer. She asks Caulfield what he wants. Another suspension? Caulfield merely asks that he and Peak’s match at the PPV be made an ambulance match. Sweet makes him sign an injury waiver and makes the match. Grade: B- Segment 4–Match- Eddie Peak vs. Big Cat Brandon- Parking Garage Brawl- Not one for the faint of heart, Eddie Peak really controlled this ‘match’ from the outset, guiding Big Cat Brandon through a parking garage across the street from the building that looks as if it has been outfitted for the hardcore olympics. Big Cat eats a number of chairshots, cane-shots, trashcan shots and road sign shots before, bloodied, getting whipped into one of the concrete retaining walls. Brandon attempts to struggle to his feet, but Peak is possessed, tossing Big Cat through a guardrail and into the closed off street before DDT-ing him on the concrete. As he makes his way toward the production trucks with the nearly unconscious Brandon, Eddie Peak yells into the camera, “Caulfield! The Hardcore Revolution will not be stopped! Not by someone like you! A phony! There’s never been anything hardcore about you! I’m going to make you the next sacrifice to the Revolution!” With that, Peak steadies the bloody Big Cat on the hood of another nearby car after slamming him onto it, and begins climbing to the top of the TV trailer. With a scream of “Revolution!” Peak dives off a solid thirty feet and splashes Brandon, denting the hood and turning it upward on both sides, making a ‘hood taco’ of sorts. Referee Ryan Holland, wearing gloves, counts the three amidst some smoke that began pouring out of the car’s engine. Grade: B Segment 5– Backstage Skit-The Stone brothers are in a locker room backstage discussing their match strategy when Dan Sr., escorted by his new personal nurse, ambles into the picture. He begins shaking a little bit as he begins to talk. “Moves? Sequences? What in the hell are you boys talking about? Tonight, you don’t need to think about anything other than giving Rich Money and ELITE an old fashioned ass-whipping. They’ve still got Edd and I’m pretty sure that they’re the ones behind all of the random attacks around here. MESS…THEM…UP!” Grade: B+ Segment 6–Match- Mainstream Hernandez vs. Eric Tyler- Mainstream Hernandez started this match very aggressively, trying to take the fight right to the wily vet Tyler; beginning at the bell with a pair of leapfrogs followed by a springboard dropkick that hit Tyler square on the jaw. Eventually though, Eric Tyler begins to gain the advantage, being just a bit more crisp than Mainstream on the chain wrestling exchanges. Eric Tyler’s belly-to-back suplex off of a go behind reversal puts Hernandez down, dazed. But Tyler, instead of covering Mainstream, rolls him to the floor and after stomping him a few times, throws him into a crossface. Referee Baby Jamie shouts to Tyler, attempting to get him to bring the action back into the ring, to no avail, counting to ten as Tyler tries to pull Mainstream’s head off of his body on the arena floor. Security descends. Grade: B Segment 7–Authority Addresses Crowd- Honey Sweet makes her way to the ring with a microphone in hand. “XWA fans, we are only two days away from “Crowning a Champion on PPV. We have already had qualifying matches for three of the four spots in the fatal four way that will determine our first Unified World Heavyweight Champion, however, one spot remains unfilled. Since it is in fact, a ‘world’ championship, we’ve decided to go outside of the organization to fill it. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, the fourth and final wrestler in the fatal four way, BHOTWG’s wrestling legend, Hooded Kudo!” The fans in the know pop like mad. Grade: B- Segment 8–Pre-Produced Hype Video- A quick package rolls with some highlights of some of the entrants in tonight’s battle royal. As it plays, Peter Michaels explains the royal rumble style rules and discusses what’s at stake with the winner getting an Intercontinental title shot from either Joey Minnesota or Remmy Skye on the very next Thrillzone. As Michaels breaks down the order of entrance, he makes note that the order was drawn at random earlier on. Grade: B Segment 9–Match- Twenty Man Royal Rumble Style Battle Royal- (In Order of Entrance) Owen Love, Joss Thompson, Darryl Devine, The Natural, Titan, Cameron Vessey, Joanne Rodriguez Johnny Bloodstone, RK Hayes, Teddy Powell, Sammy Bach, American Elemental, Nick Fusion, Dark Angel, Dane Fusion, Jack Griffith, Hector Galindo, Rudy Velasquez, Jack Giedroyc, and……Hooded Kudo.- -(Final Five) RK Hayes, Darryl Devine, Sammy Bach, Jack Giedroyc, and Hooded Kudo- RK Hayes makes his move at the right time, really lying in the weeds until he needed to step it up. After tossing crowd favorite and lone female entrant Joanne Rodriguez to the floor eliminating her, Hayes went right to work on the very tired and worn Darryl Devine, who entered the match third. Bach and Giedroyc, tired of scrapping with each other, form a temporary alliance and attempt to eliminate Kudo. As he sits precariously on the top rope, holding onto the top turnbuckle as Bach and Giedroyc lean in, Kudo adjusts his leverage and kicks Bach in the face, knocking him backward into the ring before flipping Giedroyc over the top rope himself. As Bach regains and attempts to take advantage of Kudo’s still semi-awkward rope position, he runs right into the arms of the wrestling legend who KO’s him with a Kudo Cutter and lobs his dead weight to the floor. Almost simultaneously, Darryl Devine, having fought back against the odds again, has RK Hayes reeling following a pair of hot dropkicks. But the crafty Hayes gets up off of the mat quickly and strikes with a low blow; pushing Devine over the top rope afterward. With Hayes taunting the young Devine a bit from the ring, Kudo capitalizes, rolling across the ring and hitting Hayes in the back of the head with a shining wizard, knocking him out of the ring and winning the battle royal. Grade: C+ Segment 10–Backstage Skit w/Darryl Devine and Jack Bruce- Darryl Devine walks past Jack Bruce on his way back from the ring. Bruce brushes aside a question about battle royal strategy from the youngster and begins to talk about what ‘stage attire’ Devine would look best in. Devine snaps. “I don’t want to be in your godamm band, alright. Do you think that the reason I look up to you and have been hanging around you since you got here is because I wanted to be in your next band? Because it’s not!” Devine shakes his head after an awkward silence and walks away. Grade: B Segment 11–Video- Another pre-produced movie preview style hype video for Jack Bruce: Supergroup. This package shows Bruce in the studio in various situations, wearing a pair of headphones, singing, sitting behind the soundboard, and adjusting the sliders. The movie guy voice over hypes the album sales totals, the sold out arenas, the music award nominations and how every single one of those achievements will be eclipsed by “…the musical brainchild of the one true rock and roll icon, Jack Bruce. Live on PPV at Crowing a Champion, Heath Row Records presents ‘Jack Bruce: Supergroup’.” Grade: B+ Segment 12–Backstage Skit- As the show returns from commercial and a quick replay of the latest backstage attack on Sean McFly from the pre-show rolls, the cameras go backstage where Victoria Stone pleads with her husband, Sean McFly, to pull out of the PPV Main Event. “I know you Sean and I know the difference between when you’re just banged up and when you are really hurt. Right now, you’re really hurt. There’ll be another opportunity at that belt, without question. Don’t jeopardize your long term health for a short term goal. Think of your family.” McFly is very silent. Grade: B+ Segment 13–Pre-Produced Hype Video- Highlights of both the Rich Money/ Stone Family story and the ELITE vs. Duane and Jeremy Stone tag title feud play, getting the fans pumped for the upcoming six man main event. Grade: A Segment 14–Match- ELITE vs. Dan Jr., Jeremy, and Duane Stone- Finally, The Stones have their chance to get Rich Money in the ring and things are intense from the start. However skilled all six men are, wrestling wise, quickly becomes a moot issue with the match breaking down after only a few spots and becoming a handful for the referee with its frequent trips to the outside and six man action. At one point, Dan DaLay catches Duane in a bearhug on the floor and, after a three step running start, slams the him into the ring post, spine first. At about the thirteen minute mark, after a mid-match commercial break, Eddie Chandler creeps back into the ring from the floor and unties the top turnbuckle pad, exposing the steel buckle itself. Xander Summer regains control, but during the next six person melee, Rich Money reverses Duane Stone’s irish whip attempt and sends the already damaged Duane into the exposed buckle. After another four or five minutes of struggling to get back to his corner, Duane finally tags in Dan Jr., who clears the ring with clotheslines. The referee, being pulled to the other side of the ring though by an opportunistic Phil Vibert, did not see the tag and orders Dan Jr. back onto the apron. The brothers go ballistic and Summer loses control with ELITE and The Stones brawling on the inside and outside of the ring. After a number of attempts to restore order, the XWA's head referee calls for the bell, counting both teams out. The battle continues as the show goes off of the air. Sunday, Wk 4, March Live on PPV Location: Manhattan National Center, NYC Live Countdown/Preview Show Segment- Backstage Authority Angle- American Elemental, injured on a house show just yesterday, leaves his bags in the locker room and goes looking for Honey Sweet. He spots her talking to a few fans and, after signing a couple of autographs for them, tells her that he’d like to reschedule the X-Invitational until Friday’s Thrillzone and that then, he’d like it to be a one fall affair. Sweet acts like American Elemental is crazy, considering he’s putting his belt up against nine other X-Division wrestlers, but agrees anyway. Grade: C+ Segment- PPV Hype Video- Grade: B+ Segment-Workers Arrive- The Stone family, with many extended members, arrives at the Manhattan National Center on a motorcoach. As wives and children hand out well wishes, Duane’s cell phone rings He is pleased with whatever he is told in the very short conversation. Jeremy is interested in Duane’s grin and asks him about the call. Duane pats his brother’s shoulder. “We’ve got our match…our way.” Jeremy puts his arm around Duane as they walk into the building. “The belts. Tonight, they’re ours.” With only a few people still outside, an intern walks up on Victoria and Dan Sr., handing them an envelope. They open it and find only a picture of Edd, dressed in a white collared shirt and white pants holding the day’s paper. In marker, written along the bottom of the photo is “The only glimpse of Edd you’ll get tonight.” Grade: B+ PPV OPEN Segment 1-Match-Joey Minnesota© vs. Remmy Skye- IC Title Ladder Match- With ladders lining the aisle, the PPV gets underway with a barnburner between Joey Minnesota and Remmy Skye for Minnesota’s XWA Intercontinental title. Joey shows some serious disrespect, slapping Remmy across the face before the bell, following it up with a pair of punches and a kick to the mid-section that knocks Skye into the corner. The IC champion controls things for a few minutes, choosing to keep Remmy grounded, but Skye, ever the risk taker, flips backward off of a suplex attempt, bounces to the second rope and doing a corkscrew body press variation that blows Minnesota off of his bootsoles. The match eventually makes its way out onto the floor and up the aisle. Joey Minnesota catches Remmy trying to set up a ladder on the stage and, after knocking him off of the ladder, throws him to the concrete floor below. After a short battle on the floor and a foray around the rear part of the arena, knocking over a fan standing back to at a concession stand in the process, Joey and Remmy’s battle picks up again a few minutes later following an irish whip into said concession stand that fells Minnesota. While Joey writhes on the floor, Remmy retrieves a pair of ladders and sets up two tables, stacking one on top of the other. After bulldogging Joey onto the floor and lifting him up onto the stacked tables, Skye uses the largest ladder to climb up to the second level’s balcony boxes. With Minnesota prone below on a stack of two tables, he slowly sidesteps his way into position above the IC champion. Skye makes a gesture toward the fans and, as they scream his name he dives out, attempting a frog splash on Minnesota. But Joey rolls off of the top table and falls to the floor in the nanoseconds before Skye hits, saving himself and leaving Remmy Skye lying in a pile of pressboard and splinters, unconscious among the fans. Minnesota, still very messed up from the grueling match drags himself to the ring and, after setting up a broken ladder and having it collapse, climbs a sturdy ladder and pulls down his Intercontinental Title belt, retaining it. Grade: B+ Segment 2- Backstage Press Conference Part I- With a hearty portion of media on hand, XWA officials begin by reading a release, previewing what is about to happen. They reveal to a round of applause that they are holding this press conference to announce Jack Bruce’s signing to a major record label, Heath Row Records, and that he will be on hand later on this evening to reveal both the name of his new supergroup and it’s members. The room buzzes. Grade: A Segment 3 -Match-Eisaku Hoshino vs. Yasunobu Masuno -BHOTWG Grudge Match- The fans had a hard time getting into this contest as many of them had no basis of knowledge for who the two combatants are. However, with that being said, Hoshino and Masuno beat the holy hell out of each other, laying some seriously stiff shots on each other throughout. Masuno takes control at about the seven minute mark with a belly-to-belly and a modified camel clutch that nearly makes Hoshino tap. Hoshino though, wouldn’t tap and instead, rallies, throwing a barrage of chops Masuno’s way, gouging his eye, and lifting him up for the “Nuclear Death Bomb”, getting the three count afterward. Grade: C Segment 4-Backstage Interview- Mitch Naess is backstage on the XWA’s soundstage set with Mainstream Hernandez and Darryl Devine. Tonight, the pair team together for the first time ever, taking on their respective rivals, Eric Tyler, and RK Hayes. Surprisingly, neither man is too talkative and Naess does most of the selling for their upcoming match. Grade: B- Segment 5- Match- Mainstream Hernandez/ Darryl Devine vs. Eric Tyler/ RK Hayes- Experience be damned. With a flurry of offense from the opening bell that lasted the entire five minutes of this short bout, Darryl Devine and Mainstream Hernandez make their presence on the midcard known. With Hernandez battling Eric Tyler on the floor after the two tumbled over the top rope together, Darryl Devine flashes to the top rope and strikes RK with a missile dropkick before stomping him twice and picking him up for the Devine Dream Drop. As Devine lifts and drops RK and prepares to cover Hayes, Baby Jamie calls for the bell, counting out Hernandez and Tyler. Devine is upset, knowing that he could’ve easily pinned the still downed Hayes for the win. He watches Tyler and Mainstream brawl on the floor and into the crowd for a couple of seconds before rolling out of the ring and heading back up he ramp alone. Grade: B Segment 6- Backstage Press Conference Part II- The official puts an end to the media Q&A and presses play on a short video montage. After its conclusion, he adjusts his bow-tie before introducing Heath Row Records president Perry Winkler, who makes his way to the podium and the microphone. “Ladies and gentlemen, I am pleased to welcome into the Heath Row family, former frontman for the radically successful Painful Procedure, the one….the only…..JACK BRUCE!!” As the lighting switches to purple and flecks of glitter begin to rain down in an obvious PR move by the record company, cameras flash when the curtain begins to move. However, instead of Jack Bruce, it’s an intern who comes out and whispers something into Winkler’s ear before he and Winkler disappear behind the drape. The room buzzes again. Grade: A Segment 7- Hype Video Package- ELITE vs. Stones Tag Feud- This feud has been going on since the first DAVE vs. NOTBPW show, with a plethora of storyline stops, now including the two teams’ involvement in the Edd Stone disappearance. Grade: A Segment 8-In Ring Interview- After making their way to the ring to the delight of the fans in their special red and white PPV wrestling attire, Duane calls for the ringside microphone. “Fans, the feud between ELITE and my brother and I has had many smallish battles along the way. Lately, all of our encounters have been ultra-violent. Tonight, with Honey Sweet’s approval, we are doing to take the opportunity to prove that we can win the war….as professional wrestlers. Tonight’s match is 2/3 falls!” ELITE’s music hits and they run to the ring. Grade: B+ Segment 9-Match- ELITE vs. Duane/Jeremy Stone- World Tag Team Title Match-2/3 Falls- This was everything we expected and more and really, really picked up after both teams had scored falls and were pushing the thirty minute mark. With a ref bump putting Baby Jamie down, Phil Vibert takes the opportunity to try and cheap shot one of the Stone brothers. After failing to grab onto Jeremy’s foot as he ran by, Vibert grabs the timekeeper’s steel folding hair and brings it back to the ring apron. As Duane comes over and attempts to wrest it from Vibert, the manager of the tag team champions puts all of his weight behind it and swings, taking Duane off of his feet and seeing him fall through the ropes to the floor. Just as Duane hits the floor, Chandler and DaLay close in on Jeremy in the ring, doubling up on him with a tandem suplex and then laying the boots to him. Vibert, still in possession of the timekeeper’s chair, takes the long way around the ring on the floor to get to where Duane is. With him beginning to struggle back to life, Vibert lays another chairshot on him, places Duane’s ankle between the chair’s seat and frame, climbs back up onto the ring apron, and jumps off onto the chair, bending Duane’s ankle into a gruesome position. Ref comes to and orders DaLay out of the ring. After bouncing Jeremy’s head off of the turnbuckle and making the tag, DaLay picks up the eldest Stone on his shoulders. With Duane still on the floor clutching his ankle, Eddie Chandler slowly ambles to the top rope, stops to steady himself, and jumps off, catching Jeremy on the way by and slamming his head to the canvas with a bulldog. As Phil Vibert moves around the ring and lays on top of Duane, completely taking him out of it. Chandler covers Jeremy and wins the decisive third fall. Grade: B+ Segment 10- Hype Video-Highlights of Eddie Peak’s recent run of violence play, culminating with shots of his continued interactions with Chris Caulfield. “Will the “Hardcore Revolution” continue?” Grade: B+ Segment 11-Match- Eddie Peak vs. Chris Caulfield- Ambulance Match- A bloodbath that started very quickly, with Eddie Peak taking apart the steps and bringing them into the ring, but getting Irish whipped into them after Chris Caulfield stood them up in the corner. Peak rebounds, scoring with a few left hands, before lifting up Caulfield and body slamming him onto the steps. With the action on the floor a few minutes later, Caulfield decks Peak’s manager Carl Batch. But his attention to Peak’s mouthpiece leads to him taking a few more punches and getting set up against the barrier before receiving a facewash boot into the safety railing immediately followed by a ‘rude awakening’-type neckbreaker over the same railing, bending it. Eventually, the fight makes it into the parking garage and after a Singapore cane appears in Peak’s hands and leads to a brutal beating on Caulfield, Peak takes the brutality a bit further, power bombing his hated rival onto an opened pickup truck gate. With his final burst of energy, Caulfield begins throwing hands, not quitting and not being able to be shoved into one of three ambulances backstage. After opening the back doors and getting tackled into it, Peak and Caulfield battle inside one of it. After a vehicle shaking brawl, one of them gets behind the wheel and the ambulance’s tire squeal, with the meatwagon gaining more velocity every second before crashing into a retaining wall. Eddie Peak emerges from the smoking, still, wreck and screams “Revolution!” before shutting the back two doors to the ambulance, winning the match. Grade: A Segment 12- Backstage Interview-As Rich Money stands backstage with XWA interviewer Dharma Gregg, getting ready to cut a quick promo before heading to the ring for his match. As Gregg counts backward from five to signal the start of the interview, Phil Vibert pushes his way into the shot. Out of breath, Vibert passes his cell phone to Rich Money who takes it. His face turns white. “What do you mean he escaped? How could he have escaped?” Money walks off of the set leaving, Dharma Gregg interview-less. Grade: B Segment 13- Hype Video Package- A pre-produced piece rolls hyping the upcoming fatal four way that will decide the XWA’s first Unified World Heavyweight Champion. Highlights of all four men play, with the “Crowning a Champion” logo flashing intermittently. Grade: B+ Segment 14-Match- Sean McFly vs. Hooded Kudo vs. Rich Money vs. Dan Stone Jr. - World Title Fatal Four Way- Right at the bell this one was hot. All four men launch into each other with a massive ferocity. At one point Money gets knocked over the top rope and al three other men follow him to the floor to continue the battle. While Dan Jr. and Kudo break off, McFly and Money face off, with Money taking the early lead with a European uppercut. McFly blocks Money’s next overhand right, however, and slams the egomaniac’s head into the steel guardrail, busting him open. Back in the ring, Kudo’s handspring elbow comes off as crisply as ever when he puts the point of his elbow flush onto Dan Stone Jr’s forehead in the match’s early going. After another few minutes of action though, his second attempt to catch Dan Jr. with the same move gets reversed into an STF. The finish comes when the four men come back together. After Money Moneyclip’s Dan Jr., Hooded Kudo sneaks up behind him and lifts him onto his shoulders, signaling to the crowd for his rarely seen electric chair drop. Before he can hit in, Sean McFly comes flying off of the top turnbuckle hitting a flipping blockbuster type move on Money and putting all three men on their backs. As McFly and Kudo regain their feet and start fighting, one section of the crowd stands up and begins going crazy and it becomes apparent that Edd Stone has made his way to the arena. Wearing the same white shirt and slacks that he was had on in the photo Rich Money showed the Stones earlier, Edd pushes through the fans toward the ring. With Dan Jr. still down, Money climbs on amidst the shenangans, hooking the leg. Xander Summer dives to the canvas to make his count, but Edd grabs his leg from the floor and pulls him out of the ring, saving Dan Jr. from a certain defeat. With the ref now on the floor, Edd jumps up onto the apron and pulls something from his pants pocket, a blackjack, motioning for McFly, now back in the ring, to come and get it from him. As he makes his step over, Edd rears back and lambastes him with it, crossing his eyes and sending him, flatbacked, to the mat. Dan looks on in amazement and, just as he yells out something to his brother, gets blindsided himself with a clothesline and a Moneyclip from Rich Money. With Peter Michaels going crazy on the headset, imploring Duane and Jeremy to get to the ring and help their brother and brother-in-law, the screen splits and a camera crew backstage watches Eddie Chandler and Dan DaLay put the finishing touches on a road case barricade, blocking the Stone family’s locker room door, preventing them from getting out. Back in the ring, after a quick exchange between them, Edd and Money switch targets, with Edd grabbing Dan Jr. and rolling him to the floor. He jostles the referee awake on his way back up the ramp with the unconscious body of his brother Dan thrown awkwardly over his shoulder. Xander Summer slides back into the ring with Rich Money on top of Sean McFly. 1…..2…..3. Grade: A Segment 15- Outdoor Attack Angle- With the crowd in a state of shock and the pyro and Rich Money’s music playing as he parades around the ring with his newly won XWA Unified World Heavyweight title, the cameras catch up with Edd Stone who has carried the body of his unconscious brother Dan Jr. out of the building itself and across the street onto a riverbank. He is screaming deliriously. “You need to be cleansed, sinner! You and my other brothers are the only reason I came back! You must be saved, you can be saved! That’s why I have returned to you!” Edd then drags Dan Jr. into the water, and as he stands waist deep in the murk, begins dunking Dan Jr’s head under over and over again while screaming “Sinner!” Local police cruisers hit the scene and several officers jump out onto the muddy bank, yelling for Edd to freeze. With their flashing blue lights reflecting off of the water, Edd Stone lets go of Dan Jr. and puts his hands in the air, smiling. Grade: A SHOW CLOSE Show Grade: B+

Secrets of the Ring (2) Secrets of the Ring w/ Phil Vibert Continues January 2nd, 2020 Voice: “So, right out of the gate, talk to me about these shows and the PPV.” Vibert: “What about them? Anything in particular? The characters I’m trying to create or the storylines? Or the matches themselves?” Voice: “….” Vibert: “…because there’s a lot.” Voice: “How about we do something like a word association, where I’ll say something, a wrestlers name or a feud or something to that end and you’ll just say whatever pops into your head about that topic.” Vibert: “Sounds good. Let’s do it.” Voice: “The kidnapping angle.” Vibert: “Something that I planned right from the start because I wanted a way to put Rich Money with the Stones right off. It would’ve had a better middle chapter, but Edd Stone no-showed, I think, the second week he was “missing”, and we had to scramble. And, quite frankly, I was questioned for my decision to include Edd in a storyline of this magnitude. Countless times, especially at the beginning. But watch it play out. That’s just the start of a whole other thing.” Voice: “The mystery backstage attacks….” Vibert: “….I promise are going somewhere. And you know, if three weeks of the same thing annoyed you like that, imagine if you were an SWF fan. ” Voice: “The PPV.” Vibert: “Crowning a Champion” was a bigger success than any of us, The Stones, Bamboo Energy, or myself could’ve hoped for. (leans in) And the best part of it was that most of it, storywise was still building. And the show built to a crescendo, with a little something for everyone along the way. How about that ladder match that opened, and nearly stole the show. I remember some of the boys talking about it after the show and how it set the bar high. Say what you will about Remmy Skye, and a million people have a million different opinions of him, but, on the big stage, he’ll do anything. Any-thing. I’d bet that if it was a big enough situation, Remmy would jump off of…well…something huge.” Voice: “Hooded Kudo.” Vibert: “A gentleman. And a true wrestling legend. He had no problem at all, coming over here and asking who we wanted him to put over, even with his stature in the industry. Also, everyone said that at that point in his career that he was a shadow of the in-ring worker that he was in years past. I, honestly, disagree. Was he a step slower? Sure. No question. Maybe his body wasn’t quite as good as it was some twenty years before, either. But his ability to work and I mean really work a match was razor sharp. He could’ve gotten a good match…out of me, probably.” Voice: “Mainstream Hernandez’s segments.” Vibert: "A lot of people told me that these were some of their favorite vignettes and the ratings showed people stayed by their TV’s while he was on it. But, I really think that this stuff right here barely scratches the surface of what can be done with Mainstream Hernandez. (Pauses) I’m not giving too much away, am I? Honestly, my favorite segments from these shows were the Eddie Peak, Hardcore Revolution, stuff. I’m particularly fond of the hotel attack. As I remember it, we asked the hotel’s permission to shoot that stuff and told them we’d be good to their property while we did it and Eddie just went bezerker on the place. On purpose. Smashing window panes and plant pots with his cane, it would’ve been funny if we didn’t have to pay for it all after the fact.” Voice: “What’s up with Eddie Peak, anyway? Is he ‘shoot’ crazy?” Vibert: “Crazy like a fox, no question. You see, Eddie dropped his baggage, Doug, and finally got an opportunity to work to his strengths on his own toward the end of DAVE. Did we know that he was going to get as over as he did? Not a chance. How could we? But you could tell that he had the chance. This “Hardcore Revolution” stuff actually came out of a locker room argument between Eddie Peak and Eric Tyler. Wait and see the next step that it takes. Eddie always takes his storylines to another level with his intensity. Voice: “So, you’re for using quote ‘real world’ situations to aid storylines?” Vibert: “Aid? I’m for using ‘real world’ situations to start storylines. Those are really the best places to start. I mean, really, how many different ways are there to get people to believe that grown men in tights are going to settle their grievances with each other on a week to week basis on cable TV? When you’ve actually drawn people to your product who believe that there is an honest to goodness reason for two men to fight, regardless of whether the ‘story’ they read on their fan site is actually true, you’ve got something special. There’s absolutely no reason to shy away from those situations." Voice: "Talk about the XWA’s focus as a company at this time." Vibert: "I wanted to get people’s attention. Both TCW and SWF had really been going through the motions in their own “war” for so long that they were ripe for it. The fans proved that. We picked up new viewers every single week, didn’t we? And don’t think for a second that TCW and SWF didn’t notice, especially SWF. I’m not big on TCW, ok, you guys know that, but the Supreme Wrestling Federation with all of its money and everything that goes with it was/is a joke. There should’ve never been the opportunity for TCW to get as close to them as they did. If the Eisen’s weren’t about personal vanity over smart business, I’d have been nothing in the wrestling industry but some lame one gimmick manager. The fact that the XWA and TCW could, in 2007, be nipping at the bootheels of one of the wealthiest companies in the world speaks to the ignorance of the people running it at the time. And make sure that that quote stays on this.” Voice: “We’re not editing anything.” (Up Next: Part 2 of this portion of the shoot interview. After That: Back to 2007 for a weekly round-up)

Secrets of the Ring (2.1) Secrets of the Ring w/ Phil Vibert Continues....Again Vibert: “…I just want to point out something about my booking at that point, ok. Four shows and a PPV were in the past and our detractors said that the shows were, for the most part, not on par with the shows being produced by TCW or SWF at the time, regardless of our actual TV ratings. I want to make it known that my initial strategy in creating storylines for the XWA at the beginning was all about setting our own status quo. We thought, at the time of the NOTBPW/DAVE merger, that we had a pretty good idea what wrestling fans were missing out on with only TCW and SWF on major TV….” Voice: “What about USPW?” Vibert: “You’re kidding right?” Voice: “They had cable. They had a legend running the company.” Vibert: “Are we talking about my booking strategy at the outset of a wrestling revolution or are we talking about the ‘county-fair wrasslin’ company run by one of the biggest egomaniacs in the history of the world?" Voice: "...." Vibert: "It’s your choice.” Voice: “Both actually…” Vibert: “Well pick one, because my food’s here.” Voice: “Let’s stay with the USPW for now, because it seems like you really have some strong feelings about…what did you call it? Wrasslin’?” Vibert: “…I call it crap, frankly. And almost everyone that didn’t exist solely in the wrestling world by suckling on Sam Strong’s leathery politicking teat thought it was crap too. ‘Let’s watch Bruce the Giant slowly die before our eyes in the ring while he dominates another bad wrestler from the past with two bodyslams’. Please. USPW was never considered anything more than a distant fourth among promotions, and that was only based on ‘big names’, not workrate.” Voice: “So you considered yourself, XWA, as where in that hierarchy? Third?” Vibert: “I’d honestly say that I think that even at this point we could be considered the number two promotion in North America. Because what is it based on? TV ratings? We were taking viewers away from SWF and TCW….and probably both of USPW’s viewers too. Our shows were booked better, wrestled better, and produced just as well as any….” Voice: “…because most of the ‘pundits’ considered you third and doing battle with USPW as well as TCW and SWF.” Vibert: “Are these the same pundits who filled their pants after our next PPV? Let’s talk about that now, shall we?” (Up Next : Two New Style Weekly Round Ups Before a Show Preview and the First Thrillzone Since "Crowning a Champion.)

An inside cradle, backslide, fireman’s carry takeover into an armbar combo gives Darryl Devine the advantage at the outset, with Mainstream making a run at about the four minute mark. However, off of an irish whip reversal, Devine hops to the top turnbuckle and catches Mainstream with a picture perfect missile dropkick square on the forehead. Hernandez stays down until a minute or two later when he fires up with two European uppercuts. I’m higher up in the pecking order! Tonight, I want Hooded Kudo in the ring, I want him for myself!” Honey Sweet comes out and says that she has decided to go with his plan, giving Minnesota the night off, and having Kudo get a shot instead at the Unified World Title tonight. This match probably should’ve had five referees and twenty cameramen to keep up with all of the action. The OLLIE contingent put on an impressive display of some tandem lucha moves, including a swinging pendulum move that nearly causes Silver Shark to get his head kicked off by Remmy Skye. Dark Angel puts together a series to moves that culminates with a facebuster bomb on Phoenix II, nearly stealing the X Title at the six minute mark. However, the X Champion, American Elemental, emerges from the pack after Remmy’s Skye Diver fells a large group of the wrestlers leaving Teddy Powell in the perfect position for his Inferno Splash, which he hits and gets the three count with, retaining the title. Velasquez whips Jeremy into the ropes, but before he can rebound, he gets kneed in the back by Hector Galindo, who then makes the tag, climbs to the top turnbuckle and takes to the air, missing a back senton, but armdragging Jeremy back down when he came on the attack. A few minutes later, with the Latino Kings back in control, Velasquez nearly covers Owen Love following a superkick and a standing moonsault. Duane and Jeremy come out of nowhere to finish the job, destroying Owen Love with a Yakuza Kick Modified Hart Attack and getting the three. As they celebrate, Duane and Jeremy exchange words with Vibert and ELITE at ringside. With his voice crackling, Caulfield begins telling the story of his career. How he broke into the business, with who, etc. He talks about his time in DAVE being the only thing that mattered in his career, and how much he misses it. Then, composing himself, Caulfield announces that, for his physical well being, he is “…retiring from the only thing I was ever good at. But my wife needs her husband to be able to be a dad to their children, and I can’t do that scrambling my brains into bits in hardcore wrestling matches. When Bloodstone refuses to tap, Tyler gets up and signals for a ‘bionic elbow’-style elbow and heads for the ropes. However, Mainstream Hernandez pays Tyler back for his interference in his match ealier on, running down the ramp and whacking him with his handycam as he bounces off. Bloodstone, now recovered, attempts to move in but gets thrown over the top rope by Dan Stone Jr. before he can get to the downed Tyler and remains there while Dan Jr. turns Tyler over and applies the anklelock, getting the tapout. When they get to the ring, Edd calls for the microphone. First, he welcomes everyone to the arena and says a quick prayer before introducing “…the only man with the key to the gates of heaven, Bobby Milan.” Edd and the two others in the ring clap for Milan as he takes the microphone and waves at the audience, who really don’t know what to make of him. As he pulls a handkerchief from his pocket and dabs his forehead, Milan begins to speak. “Brothers and sisters, I have come to speak to you tonight on behalf of Brother Edd Stone. As you may or may not know, Brother Edd was left in my care by a good man, Brother Rich Money, and Brother Money told me to look after the man’s well being. Well, after discussing many things with Brother Edd, things about life and spirituality, I decided to take him under my wing and wouldn’t you know that, almost immediately, Brother Edd was able to hear what the prophet had to say and he was blessed. But instead of just enjoying his newfound spiritual freedoms, Brother Edd wanted to return to this world, his former world, the one of his family, professional wrestling. Brother Edd wants to save his family, save them from the evil that is professional wrestling….and Brother Edd also wants to punish those who do not hear the prophet.” Many of the members of the Stone family begin to collect on the stage area, with Sean McFly emerging with a microphone. McFly gets cut off in the middle of his very first utterance by Milan. “The Milan Family Ministry will have another service for its growing congregation next week, friends. However, that’s all for now. Good night, brothers and sisters.” McFly screams to them, but they all just smile and wave as they make their way back through the crowd. Hayes, having trouble seeing though the crimson in his eyes, walks into a street sign shot and gets a toilet seat wrapped around his neck by Peak, who throws him to the floor and begins peeling back the protective flooring the XWA uses, exposing the concrete underneath. With the crowd in full throat, Peak lifts up Hayes and DDT’s him onto the cold gray….not once, but twice, rolling him over and getting the easiest three count imaginable afterward. As Peak heads back up the ramp, Carl Batch opens up his briefcase and hands the “Hardcore Assassin” the old DAVE Unified Championship belt. Kudo, having already been introduced, starts the match off before Money is even out of his warm-up jacket, dropping an elbow on the back of the champ’s head and attempting to lock in a cravat chokehold. We get some standard cage match fare, both wrestlers doing everything they can to avoid contact with the dangerous steel, until about the thirteen minute mark, when both men have stopped the others attempt to climb out of the cage and their battle continues atop the top turnbuckle. As both Money and Kudo stand, balancing on the top rope and using the cage to hold themselves, the veteran Kudo breaks out a four pack of stiff judo kicks to Money’s midsection and tops it off with a chop that reddens the Unified champion’s chest. Still, with Kudo rolling, Money makes a smart move, grabbing him by the head and slamming it into the cage, which stops him cold. Money then hooks an arm and hits a top rope Moneyclip and gets the pinfall, retaining his title. Thanks you for tuning in to Thrillzone. I am XWA General Manager Honey Sweet and I’m here with an announcement concerning our next PPV. On Sunday, May 14th, XWA will present “Tortured Souls” live on PPV at 8pm EST. As it was with our last PPV, we will be offering a free, live 20 minute pre-show.” As she continues, she is gets interrupted by the loud opening guitar licks of “Hardcore for Life”, the new entrance music for Eddie Peak and Carl Batch. Peak gets to ringside and begins swinging his cane at anything that moves. With the ringside crew scrambling and even a cameraman dropping his camera and jumping over the guardrail, Peak goes all the way around the ring before stopping at the broadcast location and leering at Peter Michaels. Queen Emily loses her headset and takes off, but Michaels is unable to move quickly enough and gets cornered by the “Hardcore Assassin”. As Peak yells at Michaels, audible through his microphone, “You will be the next casualty of the revolution!” Honey Sweet whistles and gets Peak’s attention. “Eddie, if you want to fight a battle for your so-called ‘hardcore revolution’, you’ll leave Peter Michaels alone and you’ll go back to wherever you and Carl Batch go. Because you need to get ready for the mystery opponent that I have lined up for you to fight on tomorrow night’s debut episode of XWA: Xtreme TV on Sports America. And you’ll need to prepare; he’s as hardcore as they come, Eddie.” Peak relents, moving away from Michaels but laying out a frightened ringside photographer with his cane before making his way back up the ramp. The match settles down a bit and becomes a pretty standard six man tag team contest. Dark Angel controls the run of action for the next few minutes, working over both Remmy Skye and the X-Division champion American Elemental with his regular collection of maneuvers, being particularly vicious with a snap suplex that rattled Skye’s fillings. However, as he begins eyeing the X Title belt on the timekeepers table and taunting the downed American Elemental while climbing the turnbuckles, he misses a moonsault leading to a fire up series of fists and elbows from AE that culminates with Dark Angel getting knocked into the corner and getting shoulderblocked and bulldogged out. Much of the action takes place on the floor and the ramp, with the match starting out there during the Intercontinental champion’s introduction. Minnesota gets the advantage by poking Kudo in the eye and whipping him into the barricade. However, upon attempting Kudo’s own patented facewash against the rail himself, Kudo steps up and STO’s Joey over the guardrail into the crowd. With everyone cheering, the Japanese legend suplexes Minnesota back over the barricade and onto the hard steel of the entranceway, but knowing he can not win the title on the outside, he begins the process of bringing the reeling champion back to the ring. Joey, maybe partially recovered and partially playing possum knees Kudo in the forehead when they are both on the ring apron, knocking him down. Minnesota slides his body under the bottom rope, leaving his upper body and head hanging over the ring apron. Climbing to the top turnbuckle, Joey poses and then delivers a legdrop onto Kudo’s chest across the apron that sends them both to the floor. Ryan Holland’s count reaches six before either man begins to move, and when it happens, it is only Minnesota who manages to pull himself together enough to get back into the ring before Holland’s count reaches twenty, ending the match. As Peter Michaels, through his magical ‘everyone can hear me’ headset, implores Bruce to let the world know where he has been and why he skipped out on what was a huge deal for both he and the XWA with Heath Row Records at “Crowning a Champion”, Bruce begins. “Everybody wants to know why Jack Bruce wasn’t at Crowning a Champion on PPV. And everybody wants to know why Jack Bruce threw away a seven figure recording contract with one of the most prestigious record labels in the world. I’m here to tell you that the real reason for both…is that I’m sick to death of it all. I’m sick of the ‘rock star’ b*llsh*t gimmick that I’ve been saddled with for the last how long. I’m sick of pretending like me and some muscleheads get together with our instruments and go out on tour. It’s crap. The real reason that people have been marking out for Jack Bruce for years is that Jack Bruce can bring it in between those ring ropes like no one else in the world can, that’s a fact. It hasn’t been about the record sales and the gaudy ring attire and entrances; it’s actually been about substance; about the fact that Jack Bruce can kick your ass! But I’ve been stuck, struggling with it all myself. When I was in the SWF, I was just about ready to retire…or worse, sign a contract extension. Richard Eisen and his company made me want to stop wrestling, because they treat professional wrestling like a joke. I’ve had to wrestle a man dressed like a lobster godammit! A lobster! Me! Jack Bruce, a real professional wrestler. I am the biggest star in this industry today! I’m here to be the Unified World Champion and nothing else matters.” Dan Stone Jr. surprisingly interrupts, coming out onto the stage with a microphone. “You can talk about being here to be Unified World Champion, but you’re going to have to get in line behind me, Jack. I’ve stomped everyone that they’ve put in front of me, and I got jobbed in my only shot at a title. If you want to get to Rich Money, you’re going to have to do it after I do.” Bruce sits on the middle rope, holding it open. “Then, Dan Junior, why don’t you walk yourself down to the ring later on tonight and we can see who’s at the top of the food chain.” Stone nods. “You’re on.” Grade: A- Segment 8- Video Package- Peter Michaels advises the fans that the following footage may not be for the younger members of the family before recapping the accident that Chris Caulfield was in following the last Thrillzone, with security cam footage showing him getting lifted off of the ground and thrown ten feet aside by a van that had turned around the corner. The footage then switches to the hospital, where there are clips of the bloody Caulfield being wheeled in on a gurney followed by a testimonial from the doctor on call that saw him. “If I hadn’t seen it with my own two eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it. Here is a guy that was blindsided, completely prone, by a large automobile going at a considerable rate of speed. Yet, upon examination, there are no broken bones, no concussion, nothing significant to report. I mean sure, he’s got some bruising and a few scrapes, but come on. He got hit by a van.” The video closes with a shot of Caulfield gingerly walking out of the hospital with his wife, checking both ways twice before crossing. The camera pans to the white clock on the hospital’s flowered wall. It reads 3:32 am…a shade under four hours after the accident. Naess and the camera crew walk into a very upscale, underground, too-hip-for-it’s-own-good club/martini bar somewhere in Boston and are met by Mainstream Hernandez himself. Hernandez, curiously (or maybe not) not wearing a shirt with his jeans and sandals welcomes Naess and the XWA viewing public, promising that “…tonight Mainstream.com will not only prove itself to be the number one live party site online, but also a site with a journalistic side, as Mainstream.com will break a story that will shake the XWA to it’s very….ummm. What’s the word I want? Middle? It’ll shake the XWA to it’s very…middle.” With that the footage rolls and the fans are treated to a lengthy roll of credits, most of which are dedicated to the various roles Hernandez has played in its production. When there actually is something on he screen, it becomes clear that we are watching a Mainstream Hernandez segment from a few weeks ago play out its end from another angle. Mainstream and his cameraman stop the shoot and walk away leaving the extra camera unmanned in a backstage hallway. The film switches to time lapse to get ahead twenty minutes or so until Sean McFly walks in front of the lens talking on his cell phone. As he hangs up, Jack Bruce emerges from a locker room door behind McFly with a crowbar and takes a mighty shot at him, laying him out cold. Bruce stands over him for just a second to admire his work before taking another shot at the prone McFly. The shot fades to black and another two or three minutes of credits roll. When the show comes back live on a split screen, one live at the arena and the other live in Boston, Mainstream Hernandez is all smiles, but Naess, Michaels and Queen Emily are not. Michaels shoots a couple of questions to Mainstream about the authenticity of his footage and gets a reply of “…what dude? Seriously?” They sit stunned. Jack Bruce? A minute or so later, again after order had been restored, Eddie Chandler, diving to make the tag, catches Shimedzu with a drop toe hold and grapevines his leg on the mat before leaving the ring, giving the huge DaLay the opportunity to lumber his way up to the top turnbuckle and, oh-so-slowly, drop the biggest legdrop in wrestling onto Shimedzu and getting the three count. We in the Milan Family Ministry wish to spread the word of the prophet to all of those who wish to hear it. However, we do not feel quite safe being at the arena this evening, with Brother Edd feeling as though his family of sinners would attempt to interfere in our little service. They know we’re coming for them, with a higher power on our side, and they’re scared. Hear the prophet and feel no fear.” With that, the choir picks up volume and Sara Silver steps up to Milan with a handkerchief, dabbing his brow and helping him settle himself a bit before waving and helping him walk away, followed by Edd and Titan. The crowd of about a hundred that had gathered cheers wildly. Grade: B Segment 13-Ringside Match Hype/ Show Hype- When the show returns from commercial break Peter Michaels and Queen Emily begin hyping the main event between Jack Bruce and Dan Stone Jr., but become sidetracked, instead discussing the ramifications of both Jack Bruce’s unbelievable in ring shoot promo and the Mainstream.com footage that shows him to be the one who attacked Sean McFly before “Crowning a Champion”. Peter Michaels sounds legitimately hurt. “How could you, Jack?” Grade: A vs. -Segment 14-Match- Jack Bruce vs. Dan Stone Jr.- A main event if we’ve ever had one. Jack Bruce, taking some uncharacteristic shortcuts, gains the advantage in the early going and keeps it, taking Dan to the canvas with an abdominal stretch turned into a rollup. After climbing on and punching Stone and attempting two or three very ****y, nonchalant, pin attempts, Jack gets irritated and loses his focus, giving Stone his chance. Dan hits a series of varied belly-to-back suplexes and turns the downed Bruce onto his back, applying a Boston Crab. As Bruce writhes, Dan holds the Crab on for almost two or three full minutes, dragging Jack away from the ropes just as he had wiggled his way into reach. Dan, sensing that he is losing his grip on the move catapults Bruce into the corner out of the Crab, but Jack lands perfectly perched on the second rope and springs back off instantly, catching Dan Jr. with a New York Minute. As Bruce scrambles to attempt to cover Stone, Sean McFly slides under the bottom rope and begins brawling with him, causing referee Xavier Summer to call for the bell. Result: Jack Bruce wins via DQ Grade: A Segment 15-Concession Stand Brawl- How very old school. Bruce stands tall in the face of McFly’s attack, with both men exchanging punches until McFly catches Jack with three in a row and knocks him awkwardly backward up the entrance ramp. With Bruce scrambling, unsuccessfully trying to get back to his feet, McFly gets a two step start and catches Jack Bruce with a shining wizard, knocking Bruce off of the ramp to the floor from its highest point. McFly, clad in his street clothes, is much more vicious than usual in his attack, ripping off his t-shirt and choking the downed Bruce with it, using it afterward to pull/lead Jack into the backstage area. As the action spills out onto one of the main concourse levels and some fans gather to watch the action from up close, Jack Bruce turns the tables on McFly, slowing Sean’s attack with a low blow and then following it up with a New York Minute that puts McFly on his back. Bruce, sporting a small cut on his cheek, goes in for the kill, clearing off a concession area table and setting McFly on it. As Jack begins trying to find something nearby to climb, and McFly begins to come to, the ever busy and always late XWA security battalion descends and corrals the two workers. McFly and Bruce yell at each other from only a few feet away, separated by the security, as the XWA Thrillzone credits roll. After finishing up an interview for XWA.com with Joss Thompson nearby, Mitch Naess comes over to the brothers and asks them why hey have shown up for the debut of Xtreme TV. They tell him that, in addition to being on hand for a big event like a TV show premiere, they’re also here to scout the tag team of Remmy Skye and Jack Giedroyc, who they’ll take on next week on Xtreme TV as they continue their climb back up the tag ranks. Giedroyc and Skye start strong but Remmy quickly falls victim to a Vessey low blow, leading to an extended run of offense from Bulldozer who nearly scores a three count with a spinout bossman slam. Skye and Giedroyc rebound a minute or so later, running off a set of tandem dropkicks on both of their opponents and catching Vessey with a suplex/Flying body press combo. With Vessey clutching his ribs and rolling to the floor, Remmy and Jack turn their attention to Bulldozer Brandon Smith and take the big man off of his feet with a pair of flying forearm shots. The finish comes when Skye and Giedroyc stand Smith up and then cut him back down with a “Total Elimination” to get the three. Even when he managed to get to his feet, Maita tossed AE around, using a belly to back suplex from a go behind to nearly catch the champion for three. In the end, American Elemental succeeds in making the match move at a quicker pace and he, predictably, benefits, scoring with his array of hurancanranas and hitting a triple jump moonsault that leads to the Inferno Splash and a three count. But many of you do not know that Larry is a genius with an astonishingly high IQ and a doctorate degree and someone who constantly struggled with his existence a professional wrestler. After doing some rigorous studies and medicine trials on himself, in an attempt to make his life as a rugged brawler easier on his body, something happened where Dr. Wood took an inordinate dosage of a medicine he was working on and it split his personality into two, higher functioning, parts. Dr. Wood exists most often, amusing his unbelievable intellect with whatever he wants…but sometimes….when the situation arises…Dr. Wood cannot hold himself together…and transforms into the version of himself his handlers have dubbed “Crazy Larry”, a wild, out of control psychopath with a bloodlust matched only by his willingness to damage his own body in an effort to damage his opponents. Gilmore and Devine get along in the ring like peanut butter and jelly and put on one of the best wrestling matches in the short history of the XWA. After an incredibly quick back and forth chain wrestling exhibition, Tom Gilmore takes control stymieing the young Devine with his varied attack. Taking down Devine with a suplex and spending some time working his arm, Gilmore loses his grip and gets his armbar reversed and gets short arm whipped into the turnbuckles, stunning him. Devine flips him over and ‘ties’ his legs, getting a running start from the other side of the ring before striking with a big-air dropkick onto the prone, upside down Gilmore hanging on the turnbuckles. Darryl continues controlling the run of action, keeping the pace brisk and hitting Gilmore with a clothesline before attempting a hurancanrana that Gilmore smartly reverses into a sitdown powerbomb for a near fall. Sensing victory, Gilmore stands up Devine, goes behind him quickly and tucks his knees, pulling Devine down with a lungblower and hooking his leg en route to a three count. Gilmore, the victor, quickly looks over the young Devine and says “Better luck next time.” before offering his hand. As Devine reciprocates, Eric Tyler walks up from off camera and insults them, calling their handshake “cute”. Tyler reminds Devine that the two have unfinished business, but before he can challenge him to a match, Gilmore cuts him off. “Actually Tyler, I’ll get some of that next week instead, if you’re down.” Tyler snorts “Bring it!” Grade: B Segment 9-Video Package- A video plays hyping Rich Money’s new finishing move “The Moneyshot”, a modified burning hammer. It is more or less a video of Money in his palatial Ivan Drago approved home gym, complete with training ring, dropping a bunch of jobbers on their heads. As he is just about settled and looks like he might catch a quick nap, Jack Bruce walks up behind the tub and flicks Hernandez in the ear, and as Mainstream jumps a little, Bruce, puts his hand on his shoulder, settling him back in the tub. “Listen weirdo, I don’t know who you are or anything about you, but I know that you went out of your way to make me look bad on national TV. Peak, three quarters crazy himself takes Larry on, head first and gets bloodied almost on contact. The two wrestle over the pizza cutter and tumble out of the ring to the floor where Carl Batch produces a chair from ringside and tosses it to his man, Eddie Peak, who swings and connects twice with the no-selling maniac who seems to smile a bit more after each shot. Seeing that the chair isn’t working, Peak calls for his Singapore cane and, after catching it from Batch’s toss, lays eight to ten cracks onto Crazy Larry’s head, bloodying him and, finally, taking him off of his feet. Peak drags Larry and the steel chair back into the ring and opens up the chair setting it up in the middle of the ring. Larry ducks under Peak’s move attempt following the irish whip and catches the chair on his way by, picking it up and throwing it into Peak’s face, dropping the “Hardcore Assassin”. With Peak down, Crazy Larry grabs the battered steel chair and climbs to the top turnbuckle with it, but by the time he steadies himself with his weapon, Eddie has recovered some and is climbing up the turnbuckles himself, intent on getting the chair from Crazy Larry. After they struggle over the chair for a few seconds and Peak climbs precariously to the top rope, Crazy Larry puts the chair in front of Peak’s face and does a tumbling kick to hit it, knocking him into the ring, but sending the “Hardcore Assassin” tumbling off of the top rope backward through a ringside table. With both men down, referee Ryan Holland looks around, as if wondering what to do before calling for the bell and declaring the match a no-contest. Oscar Golden’s springboard hurancanrana gives the Canadian Blondes the advantage in the match at about the four minute mark. With Golden getting a bit lax after making the tag and whipping his opponent into the ropes, Nick Fusion ducks under a Savage/Golden tandem clothesline attempt and hits the ropes a second time, coming off strong and taking to the air, connecting with a clothesline of his own, taking down both men. With Velasquez and Galindo thrown out of the ring, Nick and Dane climb to the top turnbuckles, getting set to deliver their simultaneous missile dropkick finisher when a random woman runs out to ringside, almost nude, and completely eludes security making her way around the ring twice. With both Fusions stunned, watching, Oscar Golden pulls Dane from the top turnbuckle and rolls him up quickly with a small package, getting the three count. As The Fusions sit in the ring, mouths agape, Golden and Savage walk back up the ramp with the scantily clad woman, very pleased with their win. Michaels exhorts into his headset. “Is that woman with The Blondes?” Result: The Canadian Blondes win by pinfall. The match was great, no doubt, but Devine wonders to someone off camera what his next move should be. The camera pans to reveal Jack Bruce, apparently still filling the mentor role to Devine, sitting on the leather couch behind him. Bruce stands up and stretches before telling Devine that “respect is everything in this business and Gilmore took some from you last week. Get it back.” Tom Gilmore himself appears seemingly from out of nowhere and has heard the whole exchange. “Listen. I have nothing but respect for both of you. But, when our paths cross in the ring, for the first time or the last, I’m all about getting the win….regardless.” Grade: B Show Open Segment 2-Backstage Skit- Dr. Wood is standing in the backstage area discussing neuroscience with Dharma Gregg, who is riveted, when he puts his finger to his lips quieting the conversation to listen to the discussion around the corner. As he leans as close as possible to the corner without making himself visible, Carl Batch and “Hardcore Assassin” Eddie Peak walk out into the hallway. Peak is as animated as usual, wringing his hands on his trusty Singapore cane, as Batch lays out what appears to be a plan of attack. “Listen Eddie, the hardcore revolution….your hardcore revolution, depends on what happens to these pretenders. They all want this Eddie; you know they do.” Batch holds up the old DAVE Championship belt. “This is the symbol of the revolution! And it’s yours to protect; you’ve been entrusted to be the lone carrier of the legacy of Danger and Violence Extreme. This Larry Wood character, whatever his deal is with his magical crazy potion or whatever, needs to be made an example of. Like the rest. Wear their blood as a badge of honor….” Peak continues to wear out the handle of his cane as he interrupts Batch. “…for the revolution. Their blood for the revolution.” Batch smiles and puts his arm around his client, tossing the DAVE title over Peak’s other shoulder. “Tonight, wait until Wood is in his locker room watching the show, and just let yourself in. And lock the door behind you.” Peak repeats it like a three year old, nodding. “Lock the door behind you.” As Batch and Peak walk away the camera refocuses on Dr. Wood, who has heard every word. The Stones make crisp tags and use tandem maneuvers, dropping RK Hayes with an old school double team suplex. At about the nine minute mark, with RK and Tyler holding the advantage, Duane hits the ring hot, taking down both Hayes and Tyler in succession, scoring with headbutts and clotheslines before focusing his efforts on Hayes, snap suplexing him three times, because in wrestling, if you do something three times its almost as bad as doing it ten times. Tyler jumps into the ring without tagging in and pulls Duane face first into the middle turnbuckle on his way out, giving RK the chance to drag himself to the corner and make the tag legally and bring in Tyler. Without warning, Tyler runs over into the Stone corner and decks Jeremy causing him to try to get in the ring and get stopped by the referee while Hayes and Tyler stomp Duane. With things looking bleak and Duane stuck on the opposite side of the ring, a miscommunication between Hayes and Tyler attempting to execute a tandem move that causes them to collide gives The Stones the chance they need, with Duane rolling between the stunned Hayes and Tyler and making the tag back to Jeremy. Stone knocks Hayes from the ring with a superkick and then targets Tyler. They square off, and a super stiff chop battle in the center of the ring that reddens the chest of both men ensues. Tyler misses one and Jeremy adds a clothesline and knocks him down, quickly applying the Stone Hold and stretching Tyler a bit before he taps. Result: Duane and Jeremy Stone win via submission. DaLay, who hasn’t said a word on camera as yet, lifts his eyebrow questioningly as Vibert says, “They’ll never win enough matches. They can’t beat every single tag team in the XWA….can they?” Chandler begins acting really nervously, chattering about how he doesn’t “…know if my body is ready for another match like that.” Vibert replies curtly. “What are you talking about? You guys wiped the floor with those stupid Canadians. You guys are the XWA World Tag Team Champions. Remember that.” DaLay lets out a slow breath in an otherwise silent moment. The action really picks up at about the eleven minute mark following a great back and forth wrestling match when Bruce uses his upper body strength to power out of a sunset flip powerbomb attempt to the floor and instead kicks Mainstream and uses the second rope for a picture perfect Asai moonsault, putting both men down on the floor. Bruce recovers first and takes Mainstream on a tour of the ringside area. With Hernandez attempting to fight back, Jack ducks under a swing and pulls the youngster up on his shoulders in a fireman’s carry, dropping him throat first onto the steel guardrail. Rolled back into the ring and leaving Mainstream dead, Jack takes his time getting back into the ring, having to almost noticeably tell himself to focus on the action, not the fans, and walks right into an inverted DDT from the somehow recovered ‘dot-com dude’. With Hernandez firing on all cylinders and Jack now on his knees in the corner begging for mercy when, with referee Baby Jamie moving into just the right spot, he hits Mainstream with a nasty low blow and quickly hits the NYM for the win. Result: Jack Bruce wins by pinfall. The cameras, still in the hallway, hear the door lock, followed by about fifteen seconds of disco music, the last nine of which were drowned out by screams, before the door reopens. Carl Batch walks up and sees Eddie Peak walk out of the locker room, three male strippers unconscious in bowties behind him, with a note in his hand. Batch tears it open and, as he and Peak read it, a Dr. Wood voice over that both men as well as the crowd can hear joins in. “Hello, Eddie. I’m sorry, but I won’t be joining you tonight. I hope you’ll enjoy the show I set up however, as we all know why you have so much misplaced anger, eh? I’m very much looking forward to “Tortured Souls”…or rather; Crazy Larry is looking forward to it. He told me to tell you that you’re going to bleed, Eddie. He told me that he’s going to enjoy himself while he does it. A pizza cutter was only the beginning of the madness. Until then, my regards. Dr. Larry Wood.” Batch and Peak look at each other and fume. Brother Edd Stone was another cog in the demon machine of his family’s vile business. Those Stones have done things….things that are unspeakable. But the prophet spoke to someone, Brother Edd, who seemed so far gone, and look at him today. At peace.” As Milan gets set to do a reading from his own personal translation of the bible, Dan Stone Jr. appears behind Peter Michaels and Queen Emily and grabs a microphone. “Edd! What have they done to you, man?” Milan cuts him off. “Be gone, sinner! Go tell your entire family that their day of reckoning is fast approaching! Yours, since you chose it for yourself, will take place….right now.” With that, Edd and the massive Adam Titan descend and after a struggle, the MFM, now joined on the floor by Sara Silver controls Dan Jr. and proceeds to beat him down. Getting the thumbs down signal from Bobby Milan, still in the ring, Adam Titan hoists Dan Jr. up over his head and extends his arms, holding him up just for a moment before tossing him through the Spanish announce table with a crucifix bomb. As security begins coming out of he woodwork, the MFM beats feet, again leaving through the crowd. Dan Jr. is left down and out. Griffith, a seasoned veteran, never seems to have a chance in this one. His one offensive run get stopped when he whips McFly into the corner, but Sean stops his momentum and delivers a spin kick to Griffith’s solar plexus, giving him time to jump up to the top turnbuckle and score with a flying dropkick. After standing Griffith and returning him to the mat with a dragon screw legwhip, McFly forgoes his usual hand signal and just gives Griffith the Delorean Driver without fanfare before getting the three count. Result: Sean McFly wins via pinfall. Grade: B+ -Show Close- Show Rating: B+ © XWA 2007
